00:00:00.000 this is the primal scream of a dying regime pray for our enemies because we're going medieval on
00:00:10.860 these people here's not got a free shot all these networks lying about the people the people have
00:00:17.480 had a belly full of it i know you don't like hearing that i know you try to do everything
00:00:21.240 the world to stop that but you're not going to stop it it's going to happen and where do people
00:00:24.820 like that go to share the big line mega media i wish in my soul i wish that any of these people
00:00:32.640 had a conscience ask yourself what is my task and what is my purpose if that answer is to save my
00:00:40.580 country this country will be saved war room here's your host stephen k bannam
00:00:47.920 just today a hundred public figures signed a letter that they want to ban on super intelligence but
00:00:59.060 is that really going to do anything i mean two years ago elon musk signed a very similar letter
00:01:03.980 that did nothing of course he did not sign it today but these letters are worth well it is notable that
00:01:10.380 steve bannon and glenn beck signed that letter 800 of the world's most prominent figures spanning the
00:01:16.260 political spectrum are calling for a ban on developing super intelligent ai new polling
00:01:21.920 shows that 64 percent of americans agree super intelligence shouldn't be developed until it's
00:01:26.820 proven safe more than 28 000 people have now signed an online petition calling for a ban on the
00:01:32.240 development of ai super intelligence as we've been reporting the list includes hundreds of public
00:01:37.480 figures prince harry and megan duchess of sussex virgin group founder sir richard branson actor joseph
00:01:43.080 gordon levitt and conservatives glenn beck and steve bannon have all signed several prominent ai
00:01:47.960 pioneers have also joined the call and the petition says the prospect of super intelligence raises
00:01:53.480 concerns over quote losses of freedom civil liberties dignity and control to national security risks and
00:02:00.260 even potential human extinction
00:02:02.320 friday 24 october the year of law 2025 what i'm really proud of the war room and i'm really proud of
00:02:12.780 the war on posse and i'm particularly proud of our editor joe allen i hate to say it's another
00:02:19.400 decision i made that proved out right four years ago because i knew this was going to be massive
00:02:25.100 um because i've gotten some feedback from different you know media types of people like that and here's
00:02:32.040 the thing in most of the mainstream media joe allen they're just now coming upon this in like the issue
00:02:40.760 of artificial intelligence artificial general intelligence super intelligence artificial super
00:02:46.700 intelligence uh the um the singularity the convergence of things homo sapien homo sapien they have
00:02:54.540 no clue because they haven't covered it what's so shocking for four years and in the interim not
00:03:00.740 just that joe allen put up amazing content all the time we have him on every couple of days except when
00:03:06.600 he's out crossing the country or writing a book and you wrote a book a book that's now being looked at
00:03:14.140 as one of the definitive books to kind of kick this hall off dark aeon uh and the war on posse is up
00:03:21.900 the speed of this i mean we can talk to people in shorthand the other mainstream media people come
00:03:26.080 to me and go how do we even address this is something we've we don't know if our audience
00:03:29.620 is going to understand it joe allen so let's talk about that first i tell people oh no they'll
00:03:34.200 understand it i said we have a middle class a working class audience and um they understand it
00:03:39.540 fine i said all you got to do is lay out some material and not only they understand it they're
00:03:45.100 outraged that and these are not luddites these are not people say we just got to go back to the
00:03:50.340 17th century or 16th century these are people that are active entrepreneurs innovators working
00:03:57.120 class people that are getting it done every day action action action but they understand the depth
00:04:03.140 of the problem here and they're and they're like with us searching for answers so let's talk about
00:04:08.540 that for a minute just how your education program and as you go around the country i think you and i
00:04:13.860 talk all the time when you go around the country talk some of these other groups or even some of the
00:04:17.460 highfalutin conferences uh you can talk to the war room posse in shorthand because guess what
00:04:23.600 you brought them up the learning curve just like we've done in capital markets and gold and debt and
00:04:28.560 deficits and geopolitics and all of it if you make information accessible to a working class
00:04:34.640 and middle class audience they are they thirst for this knowledge they thirst to raise the bar you know
00:04:42.560 we raise the bar and they jump on and grab it and then they you know you got to raise the bar again
00:04:47.300 joe allen your thoughts about all of this steve i gotta say the war room posse has not only surprised
00:04:55.000 me but a lot of the people i talk to even say techies in san francisco don't really understand exactly
00:05:05.500 how astute this blue collar audience really is people talk to me on social media of course but
00:05:12.180 they email me i'm in contact with people in person very very often these guys that have lived life not
00:05:21.060 in a book not in universities and not at the upper echelons of corporate life know that everything from
00:05:29.780 artificial intelligence to the various brain interfaces the surveillance mechanisms that have
00:05:35.560 been put in place they know that the rise of automation and the intention to put humanoid robots
00:05:42.900 in every job position imaginable and of course the quest to improve humanity biologically whether that's
00:05:51.580 phenotypical or straight to the genome working class people know two things one they understand that
00:05:59.460 the promise the so-called promise of ai and everything downstream of it is in fact a threat it is a
00:06:07.000 threat to their way of life it's a threat to their economic value and they understand that it is a threat to
00:06:13.020 the very concept of what it means to be human and what it means to worship god they also understand
00:06:19.940 that these tech companies are not out for their own good they are out for power and they are out for
00:06:28.240 profit up to the point of the intention to create a digital god to create super intelligence the war room
00:06:35.360 posse understands this because they have lived life and they've seen similar predatory actions from
00:06:41.700 corporations and governments all their lives they know instinctively and in many cases very intellectually
00:06:49.000 that what is happening right now is a call for radical change and they understand that you have to ask
00:06:56.340 who's going to benefit from this change and they know that is not working class america
00:07:01.460 uh in the box by the way i just want to add i don't know if we have the box let's get it up in
00:07:08.840 the box there's uh latisha james going to be arraigned in a virginia outside of virginia courthouse
00:07:13.880 uh if she actually is making it done the mini perp walk we'll go to it i don't think she is but
00:07:18.900 we're going to go to uh let's get that up in a box um joe the um here's here's one of the things
00:07:26.920 that that that concerns me is that the opposition here is all encompassing the opposition here is the
00:07:34.500 most powerful people on the on the planet they're already the wealthiest people on the planet and they
00:07:39.920 see that they have um you know they they have like what people have been going for the fountain of
00:07:46.360 youth right because it's all about living this is all about eternal life at the end of the day for
00:07:50.720 these guys they believe they're close to getting the fountain of youth and nothing's going to stop
00:07:55.040 them they think we're going to stop them but they're there in their mind is that they can't be
00:08:02.080 stopped because they're masters of the universe and nobody will actually try to stop them and in
00:08:06.820 addition in addition um they're they understand that the prize here is so is so huge that they're
00:08:13.460 they won't allow anybody to come in their way your thoughts about that as we now get this
00:08:18.080 organized to actually slow down and get some consensus on agi and then super intelligence sir
00:08:24.880 steve i think this is it should be said that this is not a one and done fight this is going to be a
00:08:33.620 lifelong fight it's not going to end in our lifetimes that has to be said and understood there's not going
00:08:40.660 to be some moment of victory in which everything's just going to be okay but what we do have we have
00:08:46.600 the will of the people on our side and not just bread and butter fly over america conservatives
00:08:53.980 people across the board and across the planet see this as not only dangerous but just explicitly
00:09:00.640 predatory the greater replacement of all human beings for everything whether it be economic or human
00:09:07.520 value also this super intelligent statement put out by the future of life institute it's looking at
00:09:15.020 the most dramatic vision of where this goes you have a being or a pantheon of beings that are
00:09:22.280 supposedly more intelligent than human beings meaning that in a godless universe they are the apex
00:09:29.200 predators or apex parasites as it were and everyone must look to them as the highest authority machines
00:09:35.780 look to the machines as the highest authority downstream from that though you have all the
00:09:41.100 economic impacts of lost jobs or jobs that are made unbearable by forcing people to turn to ai as
00:09:48.860 some sort of mentor or guide and then of course we've been covering what people have been covering even
00:09:54.240 the new york times kevin roos i think deserves a lot of credit for what he has done to show how these
00:10:00.740 bots just on a day-to-day basis are driving people insane you see it already ai psychosis the more
00:10:08.500 extreme cases of suicide so the future of life statement the super intelligent statement is not
00:10:15.380 an opening salvo they've been at it for a while but it's an important gunshot across the bow to let these
00:10:22.620 guys know that the people are not on their side that they don't want the future that the tech oligarchs
00:10:29.360 are dreaming up and i it's a lifelong fight it's one that i'm here for and i think it's one the posse
00:10:34.280 is 100 here for uh any other updates i'm gonna let you bounce i want to go through your schedule
00:10:42.320 right now particularly where people can get you if you get a chance to see joe live please take
00:10:47.660 advantage of that uh one it's tremendous information great feedback but then you may be pulling aside and
00:10:53.340 and when you're trying to get a selfie talk to him about your uh your your your thoughts on this
00:10:59.500 topic we're looking for the american people's thoughts that's part of the reason we put this
00:11:03.400 proclamation out we want the american people to sign off on it because they have to this has to be a
00:11:07.700 national conversation and we have to do it now uh so give me your schedule joe and then any closing
00:11:13.820 thoughts yeah the petition is right at the top of my social media on twitter and getter so anyone who
00:11:22.000 wants to sign it can and absolutely should signature is very low effort high reward it lets them know
00:11:28.820 you are not on board with this my next stop is naples florida new hope church with the florida
00:11:35.260 citizens alliance panel on ai and education that is be flying out to that in just a moment um and i
00:11:41.520 encourage anybody please you already are not shy but come and tell me what you're experiencing with
00:11:47.800 all this because i think that human to human communication has probably been probably been
00:11:52.440 the most important element of all of this after that pittsburgh pennsylvania with doomer optimism
00:11:59.060 fantastic gathering um after that i have st louis with a talk on ai and politics that is november
00:12:09.260 7th and 8th for the doomer optimism november 15th for the st louis talk and then dallas texas

00:12:31.300 like i say come up and just tell me what you are seeing in all this again you're not shy i know but

00:13:02.380 johnny khan's going to take us out my one of my favorite songs american heart a couple things
00:13:08.920 going on uh two on the downside i want to make sure that you guys are on top of one is about
00:13:14.480 we had solid economic news today i'm a little concerned about numbers in the fourth quarter i just am
00:13:22.020 because i think we've posted some pretty good numbers so far i know president trump is pivoting
00:13:26.840 and spending a ton of time on the economy today's numbers i think were were excellent particularly
00:13:32.800 the fact that real wages are up once again if you the irs though under scott besson and other its
00:13:40.800 future leadership they need to get every penny they believe they're owed it's that difference between
00:13:47.560 the bid and the asked that a lot of people get in problems if you've missed a filing if you've forgotten
00:13:54.520 a file uh if you think there are problems with some of your filings if you've got a letter from
00:14:00.360 the irs just avoiding it is not going to solve the problem here's how you're going to solve the problem
00:14:06.180 you have to engage tax network usa tnusa.com or 800-958-1000 tell them bannon sent you or war room
00:14:16.480 sent you they give you a free consultation what's that consultation they've solved a billion dollars worth
00:14:21.380 of the stuff before there ain't nothing you can tell them they have not heard before so open up
00:14:27.220 to them great team over there gonna take care of the problem also home title lock now more than ever
00:14:31.020 i think there's three or four trillion dollars of equity home equity homes residential homes the
00:14:36.280 united states the cyber guys the ai people they're all looking at this how to do it particularly if
00:14:41.760 you're a little older in the in the scale maybe not as sharp as you used to be not as on top of
00:14:46.900 things home title lock dot com promo code steve talk to natalie dominguez and the team do not let

00:16:52.780 okay dr thayer joins us dr there i had michael michael walsh on last night uh can you give me
00:17:00.020 a quick summary my beloved ireland is voting today of course there's no populist nationalist candidates
00:17:05.520 on the ballot i don't know how that works but hey since the hammerhead mix one of the
00:17:12.220 one of the foundational elements of the maga movement here um i don't know how that works but
00:17:17.580 um you're starting to see people have hit their tripwire on this immigration thing they're raping
00:17:22.200 young women they're tired of it uh just put in perspective what's going on in ireland today on
00:17:28.040 this national election sure steve it's great to join you again so uh you have uh twiddly dumb and
00:17:36.140 twiddly d really that you've got the two major parties uh who are running candidates and then you
00:17:41.880 have a socialist uh who likely may win uh again this is the uh uh president of ireland the elections
00:17:48.780 are today we'll know the results probably tomorrow uh and as you mentioned and as walsh mentioned too
00:17:56.040 of course uh yesterday people are fed up with the inability of the parties to solve the immigration
00:18:03.020 problem they're recognizing that the parties themselves are causing the immigration problem
00:18:08.660 with no intent to to address it but to force uh immigrants on uh these communities uh throughout
00:18:17.280 ireland and they're spread throughout ireland although this incident is concentrated of course
00:18:22.400 in in dublin the horrific rape of the 10 year old girl uh by a uh by a migrant so there's the spoil
00:18:30.540 the vote campaign and we're looking closely to see what um the numbers are going to be for that
00:18:36.520 the way to send a protest message is to spoil the vote by writing in another candidate or simply
00:18:43.680 marking as many people are my vote is spoiled or spoil the vote to see what those percentages are
00:18:50.200 uh so that we can see really what the resistance is uh to uh the establishment and again as you
00:18:57.260 mentioned as walsh mentioned this is a revolution from above uh that the irish state is work is executing
00:19:04.480 against the irish nation driven by brussels uh of course and others and um the irish people are fed up
00:19:12.580 with it uh uh you know they're up to the teeth uh with it and they they want change but the elites have
00:19:19.180 got them in a headlock it's a familiar story isn't it steve well uh it's also no because no but but they
00:19:25.200 can't they can't they can't break out of we help them break out if somebody calls them a racist or a
00:19:29.800 nativist or a uh a uh xenophobe they they melt down you got to get through that it doesn't it doesn't
00:19:37.400 matter what they call you it doesn't matter if you can't get past that you're not going to make any
00:19:41.560 change we'll follow this more i want to go uh wall street journal actually has a very good piece
00:19:47.060 china's new strategy for trump punch hard concede little for she for g rare earth's bombshell
00:19:55.100 signaled a new toughness while tiktok was spiritual opium that could be turned into a low-cost
00:20:02.060 bargaining chip your assessment uh dr thayer is president trump's going to leave i don't know
00:20:08.220 sometime late this evening to head to uh to head to asia for really one of the longest trips he's ever
00:20:12.920 taken i think it's gonna be like 10 a week or 10 days uh meeting she actually in south korea next
00:20:18.240 weekend walk me through the wall street journal it's really great piece it is a great piece and it's
00:20:24.940 really uh identifying uh what's been clear to so many of course to this audience uh in particular
00:20:30.980 that xi is using um uh economies waging economic warfare and has been waging economic warfare
00:20:38.920 against the united states it's out in the open now on increasingly uh so with the announcement
00:20:46.560 october 9th uh by the chinese ministry of commerce that they're cutting off uh essentially um
00:20:53.020 rare earth magnets targeting the magnets uh in particular which is so important for our industry
00:20:58.640 as well as a rare earths they have that as a weapon against us uh that they're uh employing
00:21:06.300 and so president trump has a very dicey situation uh to what to address when he's in asean meeting in
00:21:15.260 malaysia uh in the net this weekend and then as he moves on to a meeting with um jeff new japanese
00:21:22.900 prime minister in japan and then the apex uh summit and in south korea president trump recognizes we've
00:21:30.120 got a window of vulnerability with rare earths uh and what he's trying to do is really employ to my
00:21:38.080 mind a rope-a-dope like muhammad ali going up against joe foreman right a rope-a-dope strategy
00:21:43.240 where he's just got to allow xi jinping to pound away uh at him while he does his utmost to ensure
00:21:52.060 that we close that window of vulnerability by having our own capabilities uh in the uh the west
00:21:59.420 and elsewhere that's why the agreement with australia was so important the agreement on monday
00:22:04.100 that was reached with prime minister albanese uh on monday it's very important for closing that window
00:22:10.480 of vulnerability rare earths are not the only window that we have though pharmaceuticals active
00:22:17.280 pharmaceutical ingredients is another one uh that we've got to address well from xi's perspective
00:22:23.460 oh uh xi's coming off fourth plenary which was a tremendous success for him right so he's got muzzle
00:22:30.500 velocity and that's in part why this meeting is going to be so difficult because xi jinping is on a high
00:22:37.700 uh having secured basically his position with the chinese communist party and sent some very powerful
00:22:44.580 message that he's in control uh of the party he's confronting trump and he's the only one who can do
00:22:51.880 so so the meeting is going to be contentious yeah yeah hang on for one second just let's put a pin
00:22:59.540 i'm gonna come back to you let's bring captain finnell captain on dr thayer's point there are a lot of
00:23:04.980 folks that we know and respect are saying no that this is kind of a coup against xi he you know he's
00:23:10.460 got military products got all these problems correct me if i'm wrong sir you're you've put the beady eye
00:23:15.760 on this is she coming out of this thing stronger than he's ever been sir there's no question about it
00:23:24.140 steve he uh came out of the plenum with uh total control um despite the the rumors ahead of time
00:23:30.860 uh there's we've got to address the issue of rumors uh about the the his position but you know
00:23:37.260 you read the uh plenum and the final notes it says all of us in the party must acquire a deep
00:23:41.800 understanding of the decisive significance of establishing comrade xi xi jinping's core position
00:23:48.180 on the party central committee and in the party as a whole and establishing the guiding role of xi
00:23:53.640 xi jinping thought on socialism with chinese characteristics for the new era that has been for 12
00:24:00.120 years his vision and it came out of this plenum he is still in charge despite 11 uh central committee
00:24:07.500 members being removed and replaced like they did in 2017 so a lot of folks have wishful thinking but
00:24:14.480 the reality is xi is firmly in control and we see the evidence of that by the things that brad just
00:24:20.660 mentioned with his as a position on rare earth elements and magnets and what we see with the pla and
00:24:27.200 their operations um in the in the indo-pacific they have okay the wall street journal's piece
00:24:34.500 about punch hard and concede little uh correct me if i'm wrong captain and brett i'll come right back
00:24:39.900 to you they have the knife to the we got to cut to the chase here and for you know they have a knife to
00:24:45.320 the throat of american manufacturing industries the guys actually make things and run production lines
00:24:51.940 because these heavy rare earths of which we've warned people about for years but the elites allowed
00:24:56.280 this all the processing to be sold to the chinese communist party and treasonous activity now they've
00:25:01.640 got it it was president trump goes we have other things too because their economies in depression i mean
00:25:06.720 we've got a lot of tools in our toolbox but he's coming out of the plenum one of the reasons is
00:25:12.320 his strategy to the chinese communist party appears to be working uh they hate the foreign devils
00:25:18.640 right they don't want any accommodation they want to decouple but what they want to do is destroy us
00:25:23.400 and so they love uh the tiktok situation they love the fact that she's got the knife to the throat of
00:25:29.400 president trump am i incorrect on that sir no the the people of china support for the most part
00:25:37.540 the chinese communist party uh the large majority now i know there's a lot of protests and people that
00:25:43.300 are not happy about it but he has popular support in many ways and he certainly has it inside the party
00:25:49.020 and that's the most important thing and the party controls the pla which is the gun and so he is in a
00:25:54.780 position of strength and we are at risk in this area of national security and the in the rare earth elements
00:26:01.180 and the pharmaceuticals also in our food industry we have an issue with uh our uh uh our beef and cattle
00:26:07.920 industry and in the suppressed economy there we have uh a lot of areas where we are at risk
00:26:13.920 as our strategic petroleum reserve and we need to get these things back in order and it's going to take
00:26:20.060 a national effort it can't be a sideshow this has to be the main thing as i always say and you repeat
00:26:26.740 we this is the main thing for our national security uh where do people get your writings captain
00:26:35.020 uh i write sometimes for american greatness uh i had a piece up this this week uh about the defense
00:26:43.500 uh war department and award systems you can look at and we're gonna you're gonna be with us uh
00:26:50.140 non-stop as uh as president trump leaves late tonight for asia for the longest trip i think he's ever
00:26:55.540 taken with so many huge elements happening over in asia and it's huge events thank you captain finnell
00:27:00.720 brett there where do people get you i'm gonna try to get you mar bread talk about ireland
00:27:04.480 uh where do people get you and all your writings uh on the chinese communist party and what we face
00:27:09.820 and quite frankly these critically important negotiations well i'm at brad theron x and
00:27:16.700 bradley theron and uh truth and getter and jim and my book embracing communist china america's
00:27:23.080 greatest strategic failure calls attention to this it explains how we got into the situation through
00:27:28.620 the disastrous policy of engagement and the threat deflation when it uh that uh accompanied it and
00:27:35.720 so it explains how we got in the situation and what we need to do to get out of it
00:27:39.900 engagement and threat deflation coming home to roost right now the reality of what our elites have
00:27:48.720 done to us to box us into a core of this hey i realize you got many choices when it comes to who you
00:27:53.400 choose for your cell phone service and there are new ones popping up all the time but here's the
00:27:57.720 truth there's only one that boldly stands in the gap for every american that believes that freedom

00:30:26.080 the negotiation with china are obviously ai is going to be a big part of this remember in signing this
00:30:35.900 proclamation one of the central things i said is we have to slow down because the oligarchs using the
00:30:42.340 um the sputnik moment in the race for agi and super intelligence as uh against us saying oh we
00:30:49.860 have to because of china well we can stop china dead in its tracks hopefully as part of these
00:30:55.180 negotiations i think president trump and the team are going to get a reality check of how hard the
00:31:00.180 chinese communist party is going to be because they think they've got tremendous advantages right
00:31:03.800 they just do so as part of that uh artificial intelligence uh brat you've done a little work
00:31:10.500 on job creation versus job and the reason i ask this is yesterday target let go a thousand executives
00:31:17.640 executives in minneapolis in in their headquarters and when you work down it they didn't want to say it
00:31:24.700 but when you look down the buried lead in uh in in their press release or one of their quotes to the
00:31:31.040 business media was that uh new ways of using data and technology i.e artificial intelligence
00:31:38.060 led to these are not blue-collar workers in the in the in the in the uh driving the uh storage stuff
00:31:44.160 around this is uh executives one thousand in headquarters gone multiple layers gone so the ai
00:31:51.900 apoc jobs apocalypse is heading black brett what do you got for us yeah well first of all i just want to
00:31:58.240 say uh finnell and thayer right they're showing the logic of uh global capitalism there with this
00:32:03.580 race right everything's characterized in terms of a race an investment race to be first for you to
00:32:08.420 generative artificial intelligence and that's scary so we're in a race uh xi in the plenum says
00:32:14.720 you know socialism with chinese characteristics but in the last plenum a couple of years back he said
00:32:20.040 there's no chinese characteristics so it's full-on war and we need to decouple like you've been saying on
00:32:25.880 the show uh why well here's some of the statistics by by 2030 right according to mckenzie uh 2017 report
00:32:33.660 jobs lost between 400 million and 800 million individuals worldwide could be displaced by
00:32:40.080 automation these numbers are all over the place right nikita jobot in his analysis is we're reliant
00:32:46.380 upon what these evil geniuses are telling us about you know generative ai we're relying on information of
00:32:52.980 when it really comes out these firms have gotten very clever too they don't want to announce anymore
00:32:57.980 these job losses uh but xbox studios down 50 percent microsoft just did 80 billion dollars right that's
00:33:05.720 like the size of the virginia economy 80 billion dollar investment in in artificial intelligence only
00:33:12.400 uh in the u.s conservatively 200 000 ai jobs lost right to high tech sector so that's 200 000
00:33:21.760 at times these people are making you know 200 000 conservatively so that's another 40 billion
00:33:27.580 dollars down the uh down the drain intel losing 36 000 accenture 11 000 meta workday salesforce
00:33:34.940 uh the line goes on and on and on but there's no real sophisticated national conversation going on
00:33:41.540 about the threat from china getting this first our guys are just getting us to buy into their race
00:33:48.180 to be dominant uh and there are other countering studies that say you know only five mit had a
00:33:53.280 study a month or two ago saying only about five percent of firms have implemented implemented ai in
00:33:59.560 their workforce and so we'll see the traditional authors on u.s economic productivity out at northwestern
00:34:06.700 that i always refer to they're very skeptical of this uh and so uh be careful everybody with all the
00:34:13.160 stats out there and uh just a point of clarity the virginia economy my beloved commonwealth is about
00:34:20.520 700 billion dollars but i understand what the 80 billion you're talking about just hang over a second
00:34:24.240 dave i'm gonna come back to you yeah i mean the budget sorry the entire budget right yes yes you budget
00:34:29.300 budget budget um which is too high as we say in virginia um yes so we've got uh leland
00:34:39.320 evittert uh from news nation one of the anchors is in the war room today leland thank you for for
00:34:44.600 changing your schedule and coming by uh i got a copy of this book um i guess it's your memoir and it's
00:34:52.360 it's it's it's shocking because it talks about you and autism and how you are an autistic child but it's one
00:35:00.200 of the most uh thoughtful books i've i've ever had a chance to come across about a journey of a father i mean
00:35:08.520 this shows a father's love more than i think any book i've ever read talk to me about it this is your
00:35:14.180 personal story about how your dad essentially gave of his entire life to make sure that you as a young
00:35:22.320 autistic child could kind of face the world walk us through it because i i tell if you if people if you're
00:35:28.820 feeling down if you think that uh that uh all the issues we face every day are so overwhelming
00:35:34.560 uh get this book because this will kickstart you in uh in optimism talk to me about it
00:35:40.780 yes steve thank you this is born lucky um so yes it is i guess you could call it my memoir really what
00:35:47.000 it is is it's a love letter to my father and it is the story of how when i was diagnosed with what
00:35:53.440 we now know to be autism as a little boy he gave up his career and he set about trying to adapt
00:36:00.760 me to the world change me to the world and sort of how the world interacted rather than adapt the world
00:36:07.080 to me so born lucky is hope for every parent as you pointed out steve every parent of a kid who's
00:36:13.500 having a hard time and it shows the power and agency that every parent has to help their kid be more
00:36:20.800 and to fulfill their full potential in a way that the experts don't always talk about uh and this is
00:36:27.060 this is the story of what my dad did what one parent did what any parent can do in terms of
00:36:33.120 helping their kid and not taking the adversity away of childhood steve but holding a kid's hand
00:36:39.480 through adversity okay so this is why it's so shocking it kind of came out of left field i i watch
00:36:45.980 a lot of news nation and we curate a lot of you guys we're close to chris cuomo and batia over there
00:36:50.960 i think that channel is is a new emerging powerhouse in news when i see you i don't see
00:36:56.600 i mean you're one of the more aggressive anchors out there of any major news show on cable uh autism
00:37:02.720 is not the first word that comes to my mind when i think of leland vittert so walk us through how you
00:37:08.560 were diagnosed what it was as a small child and why did your dad feel it was important enough
00:37:12.900 to basically give up his career change his life to basically nurture you yeah well basically who i am
00:37:21.240 today is a product of an enormous amount of hard work and dedication by my dad when i was about
00:37:27.300 six years old my parents were told they needed to have me evaluated which is the worst thing
00:37:31.920 any parent can hear so in born lucky you go to the evaluation with my parents they take me to one of
00:37:38.700 those old medical testing buildings right with the linoleum floor and bad magazines stale coffee
00:37:44.660 whatever they sit there for a couple of hours and the woman comes back and says he's got a lot of
00:37:48.220 problems uh number one behavior problems forget going to birthday parties or play dates i couldn't
00:37:53.480 be around kids my own age if if somebody touched me i'd turn around and slug them because uh the touch
00:37:59.200 was so sort of foreign and harmful to me or scary to me sensory issues uh if i had socks i didn't like
00:38:06.420 or a jacket i didn't like whatever it was i would melt down and learning disabilities so they gave me an
00:38:11.200 iq test iq is the two halves of a test average together learning disability is a 20 point spread
00:38:18.200 the woman says to my parents he's got a 70 point spread biggest spread they'd ever seen so my dad
00:38:23.980 like any father goes what do we do and she goes well there's not much to do and it's pretty hard to
00:38:29.480 understand what's going on inside his head meaning my head so my dad goes is there anything we can do
00:38:35.180 and she says generally not kind of have to meet him where he's at and what my dad decided to do
00:38:40.020 was begin to teach me the social emotional fabric that i didn't understand naturally so started how
00:38:47.360 does lucky get self-esteem uh he's not going to be good at school he's not going to have friends he's
00:38:51.500 not going to be good at athletics so dad started with 200 push-ups a day to try to teach me self-esteem
00:38:57.100 you know every push-up gets you closer to a goal to earn something so if you do 200 push-ups a day
00:39:01.380 five days a week you get some kind of reward then he tried to teach me social interaction so i couldn't
00:39:08.160 be around kids my own age my dad said when i interviewed him for the book for born lucky he goes
00:39:12.480 i knew you wouldn't have any be any have any friends i'm gonna try to be your friend so he
00:39:18.000 would take me to lunch i would have loved nothing more than to go to lunch with mr bannon because
00:39:21.400 dad talked about politics and current events and these kinds of things and so we would get to
00:39:26.640 lunch and i would just start hammering you with questions you know how do you book your guests
00:39:30.480 for war room how do you come up with your segment ideas how do you sell your ads on and on and my dad
00:39:35.780 would tap his watch and that was my cue to stop talking and then also to to remember that moment
00:39:42.340 and then we'd be in the car you go okay so when mr bannon was talking about his weekend and you
00:39:47.740 interrupted him to ask about whatever what could you have asked to connect with him what would have
00:39:52.780 been what he was interested in how can you follow the conversation and that began teaching me in
00:39:57.640 thousands of lessons like that to try and teach me the discipline of interacting socially
00:40:03.820 what um how did he know this i mean your father you know you have a therapeutic society today like
00:40:12.520 you went to the people that that you know um analyzed you or assessed you and they called the
00:40:18.060 public school system the private school system they have all these and now therapy is a huge
00:40:21.860 industry people get degrees your dad didn't have any training in this correct what was his background
00:40:28.120 no none he was a door-to-door salesman um and an entrepreneur and i think it was that that gave him
00:40:35.540 this idea you know he had as he would tell it and in born lucky you're there at the lunch when he's 18
00:40:41.580 years old someone hands him the book his best friend handed him the book at this little diner called
00:40:45.440 how to win friends and influence people uh the great dale carnegie book and dad read it twice
00:40:49.760 uh that night he said and it was those lessons that he wanted me to understand as he did and
00:40:55.660 as it helped him be successful but i could couldn't understand him by reading him he had to teach him to
00:40:59.640 me um over and over and over and over and over again um you know for for 15 or so years and he had
00:41:06.020 to be there for me emotionally you know i by the time i was in seventh grade i'd been to three schools
00:41:11.680 that i'd been taken out of one he came to see me at uh and he goes to the pe fields to find me one day
00:41:19.260 at school and the pe teacher says uh you know you know lucky's lucky's doing better today he's he's
00:41:24.380 out playing my dad says let's go see him and the pe teacher goes i don't think that's a good idea my
00:41:29.460 dad goes why not and the pe teacher says well i've had to put him with the girls uh for the past couple
00:41:33.920 of months because the boys bully him so badly so get pulled out of that school seventh grade uh get
00:41:40.060 taken in uh to this new school two weeks in my parents get called in they're thinking things are
00:41:45.060 going to be great the principal calls my parents in so they're sitting there nervous and the
00:41:51.340 principal goes you know everybody at this school thinks lucky's very weird and frankly i do too so
00:41:56.680 two arrows through my parents heart and you're right steve born lucky is the story of what my dad
00:42:03.120 did there was no therapy or no therapists there was no extra accommodations there was no extra time
00:42:08.900 on tests there was no behavior modification plan dad decided i would have to get through the real world
00:42:15.200 if i was going to operate now as i do in the real world
00:42:19.160 i want people to buy this book i want to read it because it's in the details in the uh in the journey
00:42:27.120 that's that's so stunning um if you ask your dad today uh was it worth it what would be his response
00:42:36.180 you know steve it's a great question um born lucky is something dad didn't want to do
00:42:42.580 and he has been really reluctant to tell you hey leland hang on hang on for one second let's i'm
00:42:51.680 going to hold you through the break let's just cut live to latisha james we're going to go from
00:42:55.420 the sublime to the ridiculous here let's go to latisha james we'll come back to leland
00:42:59.200 i want to thank all of you i want to
00:43:09.600 so i want to um thank all of you i want to thank each and every one of you
00:43:26.000 i want to thank you for your prayers i want to thank you for your emails i want to thank you for
00:43:35.220 your support
00:43:36.080 it has it has it has strengthened my spirit and has
00:43:46.720 and it has anchored my souls and so i want to thank you but this is not about me this is about
00:43:58.560 all of us and about a justice system which has been weaponized
00:44:04.240 a justice system which has been a tool been used as a tool of revenge
00:44:11.440 this justice system which has been used as a tool of revenge
00:44:20.560 and a weapon against those individuals who simply did their job and who stood up for the rule of law
00:44:30.400 and the justice system which unfortunately is nothing being used as a vehicle of retribution
00:44:45.840 religion
00:44:48.880 but my faith is strong
00:44:53.440 and my faith is uh i have this belief in the justice system in the rule of law and i have a
00:45:00.720 job and i have a belief in america and all of its individuals who have stood with me not only in new
00:45:06.240 york but all across this nation
00:45:11.520 i've heard from just about every jurisdiction in this nation who have said stand up and be tall
00:45:21.520 and never ever cow down or back down or break or bend
00:45:27.360 so there's no fear today no fear no fear no fear no fear no fear no fear because i believe that justice
00:45:42.480 will rain down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream
00:45:48.000 and i'm here to say that my work and my job and all that i do all throughout my public career
00:46:01.760 i've stood up for the rights of new yorkers and americans and i will not be deterred
00:46:07.040 i will not be distracted i will do my job each and every day and that's why i'm headed back to new
00:46:25.200 york because there's work to be done standing up for the rule of law god bless you and thank you all and
00:46:32.640 i appreciate you leticia james on en route to prison for a number of years multiple as we've had uh
00:46:48.080 uh we've had joel gilbert on go through all the different there she is right there preening
00:46:54.160 leticia is when all the charges all the superseding indictments are going to come out you're going to go
00:46:58.480 go to prison for many many years ma'am couldn't happen to a better person let's go back to leland uh
00:47:05.600 a vivid a vivid uh leland um your father this story is so incredible because he essentially gave up his
00:47:13.280 career gave up really his life to save yours what would he say today well steve you know he never told
00:47:22.080 anybody he never told his friends he never told you know extended family what we were going through what
00:47:27.600 he was going through every day with me trying to put me back together every day during middle school
00:47:33.680 and high school for the from the bullying and the social isolation everything else i didn't know that
00:47:38.080 i was diagnosed with what we know as autism until i was in my 20s i learned writing the book that every
00:47:43.760 night after i would spend a couple hours in my room with him and he would talk me through why i was getting
00:47:48.720 beat up why emotionally i was just getting killed every day at school he would uh he would go downstairs by
00:47:55.600 himself my mom would be asleep dark living room in our house in st louis and he'd just start crying
00:48:00.320 himself because of of how painful this was so you asked what would he say now he never wanted to tell
00:48:05.760 this story as we were writing the book i said in every story he would start you know asking well do we
00:48:12.080 want to tell this story you want to tell about the teacher who you know said in time in front of the
00:48:15.680 entire class you know vittert if uh my dog was as ugly as you i would shave its ass and make it walk
00:48:21.040 backwards i was in eighth grade he said that in front of the entire class and my dad would want
00:48:25.280 to argue about this i said look dad you're going to be as raw as you can be with me we're going to go
00:48:29.440 through every story i'm going to write the book if you don't like the manuscript i won't turn it into
00:48:33.040 harper collins which i didn't have a plan if he said no because i had a book contract but when i gave
00:48:38.560 him the manuscript he says gee i don't know and i said to him hey dad you know if in that exam room
00:48:46.560 that little conference room where they came back and they said there was no hope for me
00:48:50.320 and there was nothing you could do and just meet me where i was if instead of saying that
00:48:55.200 they had handed you born lucky and said this isn't a prescription this isn't a cure this is just a story
00:49:00.640 about what one father did what would you have done he said i would have read it every single week
00:49:05.520 because it would have been the only hope i had and with that i convinced him to publish the book
00:49:11.440 and since then steve the response has been overwhelming you know hundreds of emails
00:49:16.320 i've gotten from families not just on the autism spectrum adhd anxiety uh people who have kids
00:49:23.600 have had nut allergies all sorts of stuff bullying these unbelievable stories of parents who now say
00:49:28.880 i'm not alone and i have hope and i've sent those stories to my dad and he just revels in them because
00:49:35.360 it means that all of his hard work is helping other people
00:49:38.880 day brad comments observations
00:49:45.280 yeah leland god bless you i i think your story about uh you know conforming to the real world i
00:49:51.600 think you've all showed us a deeper reality of what the real world is and that that is
00:49:56.640 god the father has given himself also for us through the son god has given up his his own self uh through the
00:50:04.080 son for us uh that metaphor rings true in your story and so i'm just thankful you shared it with
00:50:10.720 us uh love is the true story that's the the biblical love letter uh from the father to the son and the
00:50:16.560 son to the father so god bless you brother thank you no very powerful leland where do people get the

00:51:00.720 there's hope because so many people who are going through this steve no matter what their kids going
00:51:05.600 through they feel so alone and my parents felt so alone and and born lucky is that is proof of that
00:51:12.320 hope for every parent and the power that every parent has and i think that's what you were getting
00:51:16.800 at when you talked about you know this culture of therapy and everything else parents aren't told how
00:51:21.440 how much power they have how much agency they have to help their kids uh leland what's your social

00:51:39.680 whose dad uh saw that he likes splashing around in the pool and now he's swimming uh a mile and a
00:51:45.520 half every day uh and it's helping him physically and helping him emotionally and mentally and all these
00:51:50.400 things and the therapist and everybody else like just let him splash it's no no big deal you know
00:51:53.520 he'll he'll be happy that way and his dad said no no i'm going to give my kid purpose i'm going to
00:51:56.880 give him a goal and now he swims a mile and a half every day so that is i've been calling it the born
