00:22:15.000And now what we're seeing is that the Turks and the Qataris are doing everything in their power to ensure that Trump's 20 point plan, which was supposed to move to a Gaza Strip without Hamas, meaning a post Hamas Gaza Strip.

00:23:06.000Let me back up and just, you know, level set here, just in case people don't know how this plan was supposed to look and how it's turning out, because according to the Trump plan, phase one, Israel would withdraw to an internal perimeter, which they did, which is now known as the yellow line.
00:23:21.000If you're following, it basically cuts the Gaza Strip in half.
00:23:24.000Most of the population is on the Hamas side of the yellow line.
00:23:27.000And that was an according to Trump's 20 point plan.
00:23:32.000Phase one is the exchange of hostages and prisoners, allowing in humanitarian aid and the disarmament of Hamas.
00:23:40.000And the big flaw in the Trump 20 point plan is that it never says in the plan who's supposed to disarm Hamas.
00:23:46.000We talked about this last time I was on your show.
00:23:48.000It never says who's supposed to do it, but it is a precondition for the future stages of the plan, which involve once Hamas is gone, bringing in an international stabilization force from from moderate Arab states overseen by the Egyptians and the Jordanians, which will secure the peace and become a security force.
00:24:09.000Meanwhile, the Palestinian authority is supposed to go is supposed to go through reforms.
00:24:14.000And as Gaza is stabilized, Israel will gradually withdraw.
00:24:20.000And now in Doha today at the conference, both the Turkish foreign minister, whatever his name is, Fitan, I think is his name.
00:24:28.000And the prime minister of Qatar both said that it's time to bring in the international stabilization force and that it has to happen before Hamas is disarmed.
00:24:37.000And that they should stand between the Israelis and Hamas on the yellow line and they should move to the second phase of the plan.
00:24:44.000Let's be very clear of what's happening here. The two patrons of Hamas, Turkey and Qatar, want to move to.
00:24:51.000They want Hamas to not be disarmed and an Arab military.
00:24:56.000Basically, the Turks are the only country that actually wants to provide troops to the thing.
00:25:00.000They want to come in there and stand between the Israelis and Hamas and ensure Hamas is future governance of the Gaza Strip.
00:25:08.000Of course, they won't be called Hamas. They'll hand their weapons over to someone else, which will just be another Hamas guy not called Hamas.
00:25:15.000It'll all be a dog and pony show. Look, this all Steve, the bigger issue here is really not an even an issue only for Israel.
00:25:21.000Israel is only the current situation. It's a bigger problem with Trump's current foreign policy vis a vis the Middle East.
00:25:28.000And that is that he's trying to thread a needle that is not really threadable.
00:25:32.000He the Trump administration is treating Qatar and Turkey as though they are part of the same group of nations as the Emirates and the Saudis and the Jordanians
00:25:43.000and the legitimately moderate Arab states who actually want peaceful engagement and economic engagement with the West rather than to take the West down.
00:25:53.000The Turks and the Qataris are Muslim Brotherhood. They want to destroy the West.
00:25:59.000That's why Qatar is the number one donor to American universities and they have Al Jazeera and all that they do.
00:26:05.000Everyone in the Middle East knows this. The Saudis and Emiratis want no part of the reconstruction of Gaza or the International Stabilization Force if the Turks and the Qataris are involved.
00:26:15.000They almost went to war with Saudi Arabia in 2017. I'm sorry. They almost went to war with Qatar in 2017 over Qatar's support of terrorist organizations.
00:26:25.000So the Trump administration behaving as though the Qataris and the Turks are part of the peaceful moderate pro Western Arab states like those other states is a major miss and it dooms to failure all of these efforts.
00:26:38.000It's a really big problem. And what's happening now is that these two of Trump's plan cannot move forward.
00:26:43.000I know. But hang on. But hang on. Hang on a second. You've got not just Marco, but the tip of the spear, correct me if I'm wrong, is Witkoff and Jared.
00:26:51.000Jared's the architect of the Abraham Accords, which you would admit was a very smart way economically to try to tie people together logistically and then we'll figure out the politics later.
00:27:02.000The big support of that was was UAE. So how do you have a situation where the guys that should know it the best and are working with people nonstop and you've had the president really with Qatar with kind of open arms.
00:27:16.000They know this better than any. And you have the architect of the Abraham Accords, which is the thing you just referred to.
00:27:21.000And in fact, answer this after you go through the break that they're the ones that are negotiating and making sure that Turkey is kind of the military coordinator or the security force coordinator in Qatar is the is writing the checks to underwrite.

00:31:34.000They're not an Arab nation that is in the kind of Abraham Accords, reconciliation, economic cooperation model with Israel.
00:31:42.000They are a hostile, they're a hostile party.
00:31:45.000Erdogan speaks openly about trying to recreate the Islamic caliphate.
00:31:49.000He now has, he now has control of Syria.
00:31:53.000And he wants to be in Gaza so that he can take control there and replace the Iranian situation.
00:32:01.000Before October 7th, Iran had Hezbollah threatening Israel on the north.
00:32:05.000They were also entrenched in Syria and they had Hamas, which was an Iranian proxy in the south.
00:32:10.000Erdogan just wants to replace the Iranians as the Islamic, as the Islamic hegemon in the region.
00:32:17.000He wants to replace Iran as the threat to Israel on its borders.
00:32:20.000But as I was saying before the break, Steve, there's a larger problem for Trump's foreign policy that has nothing to do with Israel.
00:32:27.000And that is that the other nations in the region, the other states in the region who know what Turkey is and they know what Qatar is, are very nervous about this love affair that the Trump administration is currently having with the Qataris and the Turks.
00:32:41.000It doesn't really make it into the American media much, but the Emiratis and the Saudis have recently said that they will not work with the Qataris.
00:32:48.000But here's what I'm lost now. You've confused me.
00:32:53.000Tel Aviv Levin, Ted Cruz, yourself, the whole Israel First crowd, loving on Trump, the greatest ever, the greatest foreign policy.
00:33:00.000Now that he's coming up with solutions because Americans are not going to support it.
00:33:49.000But that doesn't mean that he isn't making a grave error right now with this Turkish Qatari situation.
00:33:57.000You have a contrast between this and and Trump's first term is so stark, where in the first term it was real peace through strength.
00:34:03.000And here, you know, peace through strength meant that the way that you encourage bad actors to behave is with the credible threat of their removal.
00:34:13.000And this kind of appeasement type thing where, you know, if we take this jihadist Ashara who's aligned with the Turks, who are Muslim Brotherhood, and we just kind of talk to them and give them the right incentives and try to give them a bear hug and bring them into the family of nations, they'll behave themselves.
00:34:27.000It just doesn't work. That's that's the type of thinking that led to the Iran deal from the Obama administration.
00:34:33.000This is a major error. And the Qataris and the Turks are a regional threat.
00:34:38.000And that's why the other Arab nations that the Trump administration wants a good relationship with wants nothing to do with them.
00:34:44.000They've already said the Saudis and the Emiratis said they will not be part of any project in Gaza that involves the Turks and the Qataris.
00:34:51.000The Greeks just bought three and a half billion dollars of air defenses from Israel, and they openly said that it was because of the threat of Turkey on their border that they see as increasingly hostile.
00:35:01.000And yet the Trump administration is acting as though these are regional partners who are peaceful and and who could and who could work towards a peaceful resolution with Israel.
00:35:12.000It's not true. This is this is a very dangerous moment.
00:35:16.000And again, this is not just about Israel, what Israel is going to do.
00:35:19.000I hope that Israel stands firm and that we end the aid once and for all.
00:35:24.000I mentioned the three and a half billion dollars that the Greeks are just paying the Israelis this week for these air defenses.
00:35:30.000Guess what, Steve? That's the same amount that Israel gets from the U.S. every year in military aid.
00:35:35.000Israel has also sold weapons systems last week to Germany.
00:35:39.000Israel could make up all the three point seven billion they get from the U.S. from a few arms deals that they're starting to get involved with now.
00:35:45.000That is it would be easy on the Israeli budget to just get rid of the U.S. aid and go independent.
00:35:52.000And this leverage that the Americans continue to have in Israel strategic decision making is not healthy.
00:35:59.000Well, this will play it on this meeting, I think, with Netanyahu is very, very important.
