00:03:57.640courses i was going to have you for that or some other stuff but i remembered when we were talking
00:04:02.700about the fires in california the most succinct explanation of what went on was you you said hey
00:04:08.260look don't don't believe the stuff on the surface this is an interlocking network of these coastal
00:04:13.680elites and what they've done they brought this on themselves they've been working for 30 years and
00:04:18.000until you break that all these commissions and ngos and how they work together just electing
00:04:22.840politicians you're you're just kidding yourself you've come up with something and this is about
00:04:28.140the economy and where it's going when you talk about data centers and you talk about ai and right
00:04:33.480now we had the we had doc pete chambers running for governor of texas has said yo out here it's going
00:04:39.780to be water you're sucking out the aquifers you're doing in arizona i know in arizona it's a huge huge
00:04:45.260issue you've sent me an article sir and if we can get it up about a public golf course i think
00:04:51.340i believe it's in california walk me through it because the price tag i think the course is worth
00:04:56.540it people play there and they play for almost no money it's this kind of blue collar or folk you
00:05:00.960know available to young people and to and to retirees to play a beautiful course to play i think
00:05:06.600the value of it's five million dollars and it's sold for i think 40 or 50 and the reason is it's going
00:05:12.820to be a data center is that's what's happening and you see is there some insidious effort by the tech
00:05:19.200bros now start if they can't get zoning in other places they're just going to go and roll up these
00:05:23.840golf courses sir well steve you know i i can't help but think of the irony here you know here in
00:05:32.960california golf course has been targeted for years decades by these overzealous ngos who profiteer over
00:05:39.840the conversion of these golf courses into open space which then allows them to source these state and
00:05:45.200federal grant monies that are funded by taxpayer dollars in order to conduct these big boondoggle
00:05:51.280how to tap restoration projects in order to fight climate change it's part of the climate agenda and
00:05:57.540it's it's massive business for these people to the tune of hundreds of millions and billions of
00:06:02.260dollars a year so myself and others have been fighting for a long time to protect some of these
00:06:07.380public municipal golf courses that are owned and operated by these cities in these counties they
00:06:12.620provide very affordable public access golf at a very low cost to the residents they're great for
00:06:20.340seniors for kids and they provide such a valuable recreational amenity to these communities so i was
00:06:26.720shocked last night to come across this article on golf.com about this golf course actually the the
00:06:33.400the story mainly focuses on a golf course in harrisburg pa called dolphin highlands and yes it's a public
00:06:42.980it's owned by the county it's municipal golf course it's very affordable it's actually thriving it's very
00:06:49.580busy does 50 000 rounds a year which for a seven month season on the east coast is a is a lot of golf so
00:06:55.760it's doing well and um it was targeted by these ai in this case an ai data center developer based out of
00:07:05.420dallas who offered the county in a backroom deal essentially 10x the market value of this land so
00:07:12.640for people that understand land use and zoning you know the value the market value of land is really
00:07:18.840predicated on the land use and the allowable uses of the land so in in the case of a piece of land for
00:07:26.540a golf course that's zoned to say commercial recreation the valuation is only as much as the
00:07:31.860golf operation provides but in this case the county has rezoned the land to offer it up to a developer to
00:07:39.400be able to develop for industrial use in this case ai dentist data centers which is why now they've 10x the
00:07:46.860value of land they've sold for 46 million dollars um and uh this the article goes on to talk about
00:07:54.640several other golf courses there's about a half a dozen or so that are being targeted now uh including
00:07:59.600one out here in california not too far from me that was a nine hole course designed by alistair mckenzie
00:08:06.240my hero but i think this is just the beginning and the irony here going back to the these environmental
00:08:12.780these ngos is that the data centers are the antithesis of what these people fight for
00:08:18.380you know the data centers are going to provide nor noise pollution it's going to be a loss of this
00:08:23.740green space a loss of a recreational amenity they require an enormous amount of water and the key
00:08:29.740is they require an enormous amount of energy that's going to in turn significantly increase
00:08:37.520the electricity costs of the residents of this community and if you read the article it says
00:08:42.460specifically that the sale of this land is predicated on some further due diligence to be able to prove
00:08:48.800that they have enough access to enough energy to be able to build this facility and if all things
00:08:54.400fall into place the golf course is set to close at the end of 2027
00:08:58.140and then it'll be developed into these data centers but there's another golf course also just even
00:09:05.200this article that's targeted called hunting hawk and your beloved richmond virginia hanover county
00:09:12.220so that's just one of these half dozen but what you're going to see is they're going to go across
00:09:16.900the the data centers are devouring land we got all kind of analysis we're sure next week in the phoenix
00:09:23.160area but just absolutely devouring land uh can you hang on for a second uh josh because i want to get
00:09:28.180joe allen in here we got a cold open from joe let's go and play it i'm gonna bring joe allen in
00:09:32.520i'm increasingly surprised by the number of people on the right who i would describe as
00:09:38.500ardent free market low regulation to no regulation folks who are very anti-ai and i'm just curious
00:09:49.060where do you think that comes from and what do you think it comes from so far as i can tell
00:09:56.020the perception that the risks outweigh the benefits so the risk would include you know massive job loss
00:10:03.180chaos where nobody sort of knows if anything is real and through the fabric of reality itself begins to
00:10:10.140tear you know of course the massive energy draw and the huge and expensive infrastructure changes

00:11:30.440for jason so clearly they're simpatico here what is the objective of the companies that people like
00:11:36.320david sacks and ted cruz are running cover for what is this supreme intelligence that the president is
00:11:43.600talking about these companies are driving towards artificial general intelligence and whether you
00:11:50.660believe that's possible or not what it shows is they are willing to create something that would
00:11:56.500replace every worker on earth whatever percentage of that objective they achieve it will be a net
00:12:05.300negative for any working american or any worker across the world so what are we fighting against
00:12:12.700we're fighting against people who not only don't care about your well-being other than to use you for
00:12:20.440training data or to use you as a pet after their singularity these are people who actively want to replace you
00:12:30.120so the argument here jason that people are being forced to essentially submit their information
00:12:33.720their training and then become replicated by computer systems and then replaced by them
00:12:37.720uh that does not sound like conspiracy theory to me that sounds like it's dead on
00:12:42.240that sounds like it's dead on it's one of the smartest guys joe allen i want to and i want to set the framework

00:18:01.400engaged but because here's how big it was we didn't even win the conference in the senate we lost that
00:18:07.20021 19 now they did that to cover themselves so there's no one or two uh parties you can you can pick
00:18:13.880out there but you cover this extensively walk me through your article and your thoughts on this is this
00:18:19.140the republican establishment both in the senate and now in these state houses two powerful institutions
00:18:23.700saying we can see the end of the mega movement we can see the end of trump and we're ready to move on

00:18:35.880lot of his allies are rightfully very angry about this and so what we saw is that there was maybe a
00:18:42.580potential there were a couple votes that could have been swung in favor of this redistricting
00:18:47.560and i've heard from sources close to the white house that it kind of came down to the wire and
00:18:51.400then there were a couple of uh establishment like people in this indiana senate who wanted to go in
00:18:59.360different way who wanted to stab the president in the back and so now what i wrote about is that you
00:19:05.200are seeing the president and his allies really rally against the indiana republicans and they want to
00:19:10.960make them make them pay a trump advisor alex brusiewicz told me that he has been vetting candidates
00:19:17.420to primary all 21 of these senate republicans for the past couple of weeks kind of saw some of this
00:19:22.620coming tp usa has begun to tp usa action has begun to hire a staff to put them down on the ground in
00:19:30.760indiana to be dedicated to chasing votes to make sure that all of these 21 senate republicans
00:19:36.480lose these votes heritage action who is a little bit tangled in a controversy around this uh senate this
00:19:44.120indiana redistricting thing uh they put out a tweet saying that um the president threatened to pull
00:19:50.720federal funding from the state of indiana if they voted against the redistricting effort i've heard
00:19:56.720from a source close to the redistricting process that the trump administration never made that sort of
00:20:02.360threat and that the whole tweet was fake and they never spoke to the heritage action but despite that
00:20:07.420anyways and being kind of back and forth with the trump administration the heritage action has said that
00:20:12.000they are also going to be primary all of these senate republicans club for growth pledged to primary
00:20:18.860these senate republicans to look at what races they can win and so now uh the knives are out and i think
00:20:24.440i loved this quote i got this was from a source close to the white house this source told me
00:20:29.880metaphorically this ends with heads on pikes and i think that is a perfect representation of the
00:20:36.960anger you are seeing from the white house and i think it also speaks to what you touched on steve that
00:20:43.960there are establishment republicans who are kind of looking to turn their back on president trump and
00:20:49.640move on and the white house the president his allies the gop i don't think are going to be very forgiving of
00:20:58.020that reagan we've got florida ohio missouri uh kansas nebraska i mean we you know the grass did this in 21 it's one of the
00:21:08.740reasons we have the house the war was at the tip of the spear in this i have said we need a net 10 positive to make
00:21:15.020sure that we can put it away in in 26 this is a struggle is is the purpose of this exercise that the white house is going through to send a
00:21:24.020to send a signal to the other people from north carolina to florida you got to get on board and
00:21:28.740you got to get on board now because we're burning daylight and we don't have time to mess around we
00:21:32.240certainly don't have time for another indiana it's empowering the democrats ma'am totally i think the
00:21:38.560white house is feeling pressure on a bunch of different uh topics going into the 2026 midterms we are
00:21:46.160now less than a year out from the 2026 midterms and we have uh americans who are feeling like the economy
00:21:52.140is not benefiting them we have trump supporters who feel like the president is spending too much time
00:21:56.940on foreign policy as opposed to domestic policy and now you have within state governments republicans
00:22:03.520who don't want to redistrict their state to help the national party and i think you can also read this
00:22:09.400as these people aren't looking at the big picture these senate republicans in indiana might have a hard
00:22:15.900time understanding how this can politically impact the rest of the country nationally uh probably the
00:22:24.560people of indiana don't really understand either and there are probably local politics also at play i think
00:22:29.600all of those reasons are totally fair uh but this is definitely a matter of politics it's a matter of
00:22:35.300national politics and i think the white house is probably wise to send a message right now get ahead of
00:22:41.640it while they still can because they're going to need every ounce of support and tools that they can
00:22:48.280get heading into the 2026 midterms because there's pressure after the 2024 election i think
00:22:53.600so many republicans were so happy the gop was so happy that trump won almost every area of the country
00:23:00.700shifted to the right that now there's this pressure to keep capitalizing on that in 2026 because
00:23:06.060or 2026 because i think that there is um there's a real fear on the other side of what the democrats
00:23:13.460could do if they get in power and if they finally get their mojo back and that's something the gop does

00:25:34.960earlier in the podcast jason calicanis talking about how in the future near future people could use
00:25:42.000neural link to directly participate in disney stories you know disney and open ai just partnered
00:25:48.900and this is the sort of dream world that they live in they live in a world in which machines will be
00:25:57.000the highest authority on what is and isn't real what is and isn't good and what is and isn't beautiful
00:26:04.780and they are imposing it on the rest of the population people talk about it in terms of choice there is a
00:26:11.900choice on the personal and communal level and to some extent there is a choice on the institutional
00:26:18.180level but we see more and more companies forcing their employees and even their executives to use ai for
00:26:25.760instance vista equity forces all of their acquisitions to prove a certain amount of use of ai in order to
00:26:35.120keep the capital so this isn't as if they're offering some sort of great product and saying oh look the
00:26:43.860luddites and the populace are afraid of our new technology just like the light bulb just like the
00:26:49.240telegraph so on and so forth they're the ceos behind the biggest artificial intelligence projects the
00:26:57.200four frontier ai companies are openly talking about replacing any human being possible in the white
00:27:07.100collar or blue collar sectors and their ultimate goal is to create a digital being that will be the
00:27:14.020authority on what is and isn't real aka a sand god yeah we're pissed imagine that and we're gonna fight
00:27:23.020like hell so i don't think anybody's placated uh joe uh your work is amazing real quickly nashville
