00:04:15.560And I think if we didn't do it first, they would have done it to Israel.
00:04:19.780And give us a shot if that was possible.
00:04:23.540The Wall Street Journal is reporting this.
00:04:25.340The son of Ayatollah Khomeini is the top contender for supreme leader.
00:04:29.280Quote, the son of Iran's slain theocratic leader is the top contender to replace his father to steer the embattled Islamic Republic in its worst conflict in decades.
00:04:38.100That's according to people familiar with the matter.
00:04:40.500He would likely opt for an even more hardline direction as supreme leader, Iranian officials and analysts say.
00:04:46.020This feels like the worst possible outcome, what has already been the loss of American treasure in the form of six lives, that we take someone out who's replaced by someone that the Wall Street Journal says is, quote, even more hardline as supreme leader.
00:05:03.920And I think he represents a real element within Iranian society, not just the government and the regime, but Iranian society.
00:05:11.280You know, we tend to look at things through the American prison and point out all the very odious and heinous acts that Iran has committed over the course of the last number of decades, particularly since the revolution.
00:05:21.820The Iranians look at us and they say, OK, the CIA and the Brits overthrew the democratically elected prime minister, Mossadegh, in 1953.
00:05:29.120We armed, equipped and trained the Sabah, which was the Shah's secret police that tortured and oppressed Iranians across the board.
00:05:36.460You know, we have engaged in different types of bombing activities.
00:06:17.060And, again, I'm just aghast that a U.S. administration engaged in something like this without thinking through the implications, the repercussions, and where we go from here.
00:06:29.520Caroline, could you tell us about the president's current thinking about ground troops and whether they could be used if they were to be sent into Iran?
00:06:44.240Well, they're not part of the plan for this operation at this time.
00:06:47.580But I certainly will never take away military options on behalf of the president of the United States or the commander-in-chief.
00:06:53.360And he wisely does not do the same for himself.
00:06:56.180I know there's many leaders in the past who like to take options off of the table without having a full understanding of how things could develop.
00:07:02.760So, again, it's not part of the current plan, but I'm not going to remove an option for the president that is on the table.
00:07:09.140This is the primal scream of a dying regime.
00:07:16.520Pray for our enemies, because we're going medieval on these people.
00:07:21.760I got a free shot on all these networks lying about the people.
00:07:26.020The people have had a belly full of it.
00:09:19.560His family escaped political persecution from Cuba.
00:09:23.640So I think this hits him very personally when governments are politicized and weaponized against political enemies like we see in communist Cuba.
00:09:34.080I would say to Brennan, if you did nothing wrong, why are you so nervous and lawyer up?
00:10:01.120I've seen the news reports where this grand jury has sent out a lot of subpoenas to a lot of these Democrats, bad actors who engaged in this unprecedented Republican-ing lawfare against Trump, his aides like you and Peter DeBaro, his allies, January 6th supporters, Pirates Christians.
00:10:20.140I've come on your show countless times since the Mar-a-Lago raid talking about this weaponization, this lawfare.
00:10:27.680I have very publicly called for accountability for this.
00:10:32.300I would say retribution is a crucial component of justice.
00:10:36.740I very publicly push Jason Redding Quinones, my good friend, is the Miami U.S. attorney.
00:10:43.220And I have very publicly said I hope that Jason puts all these asses in jail.
00:10:47.840So, you know, of course, I don't know what the grand jury is doing because that would be illegal.
00:10:55.800But I am very happy with the news reports that I'm hearing.
00:11:01.360Mike, talk to me about the Supreme Court.
00:11:04.140You know, the Supreme Court has essentially had President Trump's back.
00:11:07.660I actually think the tariff ruling was not as bad as people originally thought.
00:11:12.640I actually thought it was quite creative about how Scott Bessent and Jameson Greer, Ambassador Greer, and Peter Navarro can work with President Trump.
00:11:21.940And Scott Bessent announced today on Squawk Box that the 15 percent, I think it's the 122, is the 15 percent global tariff is going to kick in later this week.
00:11:38.920Yeah, it's a 9-0 decision, and it was by Justice Ketanji Brown-Jackson.
00:11:45.800So this is like a unicorn decision, and it's an important one.
00:11:50.180It's a Supreme Court decision that talks about how our immigration system handles claims of persecution, claims of torture by these illegal aliens who are coming to America.
00:12:03.100There was a Salvadorian citizen who fled to the United States with his wife and his minor child back in 2020, if I'm not mistaken.
00:12:15.120He had, in his hometown back in El Salvador, he had got beaten up a few times.
00:13:10.060And that is intentionally set up by Congress because immigration, the laws are written by Congress, but the enforcement is an executive branch function.
00:13:20.080And so this immigration judge said that this guy, his wife, and his kid didn't meet the standard for torture.
00:13:28.280Adios, Pablo, you're going back home, or whatever the hell his name is.
00:13:32.040And that decision was upheld on appeal through the Justice Department, through the Board of Immigration Appeals.
00:13:40.420And then from there, it goes to a federal court of appeals.
00:13:44.540It goes, in this case, the First Circuit.
00:13:46.480And the First Circuit, which is dominated by liberals, correctly held that this guy didn't meet the standard.
00:13:57.000There is substantial deference, very strong deference to the executive branch when they make these determinations related to immigration, related to torture, and asylum cases.
00:14:08.720And so the Supreme Court, nine to nothing, upheld that.
00:14:11.320And this is important in this respect, Steve.
00:14:14.100It reaffirms that these decisions are not for these activist Democrats judges to make.
00:14:21.980You can't run to a federal district court judge in Boston or New York or L.A. or one of these other liberal hellholes and have one of these district court judges up in the process to free their illegals, right?
