00:21:53.920Next thing you know, you're out of a home and they're looking to you to pay back the loan and your whole life from that from that period forward.
00:23:09.860That's why, you know, don't take it from Tom, don't take it from me, just go talk to Natalie Dominguez and the team, get the information. I think you'll see how this, it's the cost-benefit analysis is just, it so overwhelms you for the benefit of it, particularly now when you've got AI, cyber, and you've got rogue lawyers, accountants, and even a real estate broker.
00:23:32.100I mean, she was a very, she, having been in the real estate business, knew how easy this was to do. Correct, Tom?
00:23:39.860Yeah, she knew exactly what strings to pull because she had experience in the industry, and it was sort of the perfect storm.
00:33:08.320And especially with this AWACS devastation, a half-a-billion-dollar aircraft, we lose one more.
00:33:15.780We're in trouble in the global fight, right, maybe.
00:33:19.040So these questions are all based on what are we going to do to protect our troops.
00:33:25.540Also, I asked him last week about what are we going to do to turn the Internet back on for the people,
00:33:30.640and how do we do that as they try to shut down all these VPNs in the Iranian militias and stuff.
00:33:35.480So, you know, what's one of the reasons you haven't? Yeah. Yeah. But are you concerned that are you concerned that they're very noticeably not giving a level of specificity, even when Emerald Cooper comes on about just even some of the math about this?
00:33:56.340right it you know because we talk about uptempo we talk about the bombing every night um they're
00:34:02.600asserting this but so far they've been very remiss to get into details and i realize you
00:34:08.500got operational security you don't want to tell the enemy what you're doing but a little bit we're
00:34:13.460all kind of in we're all kind of in the fog of war here and a little a little bit of an abyss
00:34:18.680because you know they still there's still the scattershot of the uh of the iranians we understand
00:34:25.360And they've dispersed their command and control, I think, as Eric Prince continues to tell us, to like 31 different units.
00:34:31.860But do you get a sense that the Pentagon has a strategy here, kind of a media strategy or a briefing strategy to make sure the American people are fully apprised so that they can think through and make sure they support or not support President Trump's strategy?
00:34:48.960I think they've been careful not to discuss policy, right?
00:34:52.960And they are taking these measures. Hegseth was with the troops in Central Command a few days ago over there, right?
00:35:00.260So I believe that—I believe they're in a spot because, you know, again, it only takes a dozen drones to hit a target from ground zero and hurt a lot of people or take out—
00:35:17.960You know, listen, in the Red Sea, a missile came within a half a mile of the Harry S. Truman,
00:35:22.660and if it wasn't for the Sea Whiz, I think, it could have hit it. So, you know, these threats
00:35:27.580are real and imminent, and no matter how much planning you do, I think they do have a plan.
00:35:32.020I think they really care. I think Hegseth really cares about the troops. But there's a lot of
00:35:36.960unpredictables here. And we spoke last summer, Stephen, at the Army 250 celebration, and we
00:35:42.000talked about during the June strikes, you know, about a wider war with the Gulf states and other
00:35:47.940and the regional, you know, geostrategic elements going on here. So there are unpredictable elements
00:35:54.540here as nothing's really fermenting on the ground. The MEK is attacking the Iranian Guard and other
00:36:01.780things a little bit, but there's nothing gelling with Pahlavi or anything. So, you know, where does
00:36:07.360it leave the people? Where does it leave our troops for the long term? How many additional
00:36:12.240casualties will we have? I think it's a legitimate concern. About the Gulf Arab, the Arab allies,
00:36:21.460and as we got bent up here, the NATO allies, President Trump has clearly now over the last
00:36:26.56024 hours, maybe 30 hours, has been pretty adamant that he needs people stepping up to the plate,
00:36:32.060that we're going to only bear this burden by ourselves for so long. What's the sense you got
00:36:36.820from the building uh because these are the direct connect it's not a diplomatic a lot of it's
00:36:41.940military to military and i know they're very close relationships particularly with the gulf
00:36:46.620armies specifically uae very close relationship with the pentagon do you get any sense
00:36:52.320that hegseth and general kane are making any uh progress on this or is this still all at the
00:36:58.960white house level and diplomatic well i think it is that and it's also i think uae agreed to
00:37:06.220jump in the fight to protect the ships in the strait. I think other nations will come on board.
00:37:10.540I think Saudi Arabia will as well. But Europe is always there when they need us. So I think there
00:37:18.880will be some success for Donald Trump in putting together a coalition to target this. But how many
00:37:25.460weeks out? Will the oil hit $150 plus? There's a lot of questions here. But I don't think they're
00:37:32.040operating in the dark. I think, you know, I wouldn't underestimate Trump. I do think he's
00:37:38.600in a little bit of a position because, you know, Iran's four times the size of Iraq. You know,
00:37:43.620how do you do that? My grandfather told me 48 years ago, he used to make altimeters for the
00:37:47.580bombs. And he always told me, hey, you can bomb the snot out of a country, but unless you've got
00:37:51.700ground forces, you can't change it. You know, so, you know, again, what level of success is enough
00:37:57.960for Trump and what nations will come on board to help.
00:38:01.300You have 11 million barrels a day of oil missing from, you know, the world's supply right now.
00:38:07.140All these tanks, all these storage things are at capacity over there in the Gulf states,
00:39:21.120uh the president's looking to at least get an alternative it's optionality with the president
00:39:26.680range of alternatives there's clearly he's thinking through hey i've got options of if i
00:39:31.860got to put combat troops in if i got to keep bombing these guys if i need another regime
00:39:36.760change besides the guys i i'm talking to but one he's clearly looking to do is have the allies step
00:39:42.900up here and bear some of the burden uh from your perch in rome uh david zero is pretty optimistic
00:39:49.900that eventually europe will do the right thing uh in your bdi assessment do you see that happening
00:39:55.880um it might happen on a sort of bilateral basis with the u.s tapping certain countries like the
00:40:05.700uk or have you or greece for example um who has been quite cooperative whether it's going to take
00:40:11.800place formally through the nato infrastructure at the present moment i did i'd find that slightly
00:40:17.320more doubtful that the that the elements are there to do that um i frankly find it difficult
00:40:23.080that he's that the president's going to succeed in getting any sort of bilateral agreements
00:40:27.680country by country to come on board on this um because if the if it's true that the president
00:40:33.080is looking for an off-ramp here for here in continental europe that they're um they're not
00:40:39.600looking for an off-ramp because they never got on the on-ramp in the first place and they're
00:40:43.920sort of extremely concerned that they don't want to be moving in that direction largely because the
00:40:49.100on-ramp isn't isn't a static thing it's dynamic it's like a conveyor belt you need to get on
00:40:54.520and do nothing and you're going to be moved further on into this and that's really not where
00:40:59.080the the european countries are the reason being as i've indicated before yeah yeah it's because
00:41:05.600because the um well whatever you say about uh the european branch of our sociopathic overlords
00:41:12.880They know how unpopular they are, broadly because of the immigration issue anyway. You've got the far-right iteration sort of nipping at their heels. They realize that getting their countries involved in a third Gulf War in as many decades is politically suicidal. They don't want any – they don't want to keep the – they don't want anything to do with this. They don't even want to be tapped in to keep administrative homes open.
00:41:40.860yeah but but but i got it but brent oil is 118 a barrel right now it's going to go higher if they
00:41:47.720don't see if president trump says hey look it's your problem you got to step up here also this
00:41:52.760has to has major implications for the ukraine situation p the citizens of the united states
00:41:58.300are seeing what's happening here they're seeing the president he it shouldn't be the president's
00:42:04.040responsibility to get allies to come on an on-ramp particularly let me just make sure
00:42:09.100disestated is that coming out of hormuz is oil and natural gas lng going to europe going past the
00:42:18.900houthis in the gate of tears down there into the red sea and suez is a hundred percent going to
00:42:24.140europe you got carrier battle groups right now with american kids keeping those open this is a
00:42:29.140european problem this is a european issue and that's why you shouldn't have to take a bayonet
00:48:41.300but as of yet have offered no boots on the ground to send in.
00:48:46.120And as you've been highlighting consistently, Steve,
00:48:47.980Look, I'll quickly close with this point, this observation, because you mentioned it just before the break and you said it's a very important consideration. How much is this war affecting what's going on in Ukraine? And yes, President Zelensky has been, bless his little cotton socks, has been trying desperately to insert himself into this narrative as well and largely failing, but he is doing what he can do.
00:49:13.260But I'd like to reframe your question, Steve, because I don't think it's so much that the fact isn't so much how much is this war affecting what's going on in Ukraine.
00:49:23.700It's how much has what happened in Ukraine over the last three or four years affecting the operability for the Gulf War.
00:49:33.120And this brings us to the Patriot battery situation, which Poland has refused to help.
00:49:38.600And that is, if America asks which country now, which of our allies, has patriot surplus to send to us in Iran, in the Strait of Hormuz or wherever, to help defend Israel,
00:50:02.440As is, no one has excess capacity anymore because it's all been used up in Ukraine.
00:50:09.020And that, I think, is a further illustration of the rule, the law of unintended consequences,
00:50:16.460which continue to reach forward to the present day of what happened in February 2022.
