00:00:00.000 And we have friends now that are using AI and are building schools and they have schools that have way better results.
00:00:06.640 And the teachers unions want to argue those results are not better.
00:00:09.320 And by the way, it's not all AI all day.
00:00:11.380 They spend a lot of time with people and with values and with projects and with human skills.
00:00:16.140 But yes, AI is better at seeing where you are.
00:00:18.600 Are we talking about Alpha School?
00:00:20.200 I mean, Alpha School is one of them.
00:00:21.440 Has there been a third party assessment of their techniques and their outcomes?
00:00:25.400 there there there's been a lot of different different views on this from a lot of my
00:00:29.840 smartest friends and it's very clear these kids are way ahead we're gonna he's gonna keep building
00:00:33.580 it because it's his money and we're gonna we're gonna prove it and parents are gonna choose but
00:00:36.160 but listen promise it's a sales pitch no it's not a sales pitch it's the guy who's more confident
00:00:41.200 than almost anyone here he's worth tens of billions of dollars for building hundreds of
00:00:44.620 companies over the last 30 years he's extremely good at what he does he deeply cares about america
00:00:49.200 he built it for his kids and we have a lot of our friends kids going there who are smart
00:00:52.960 and they're doing projects and they're learning and the AI actually can see where you are and how
00:00:57.920 to teach how to like see what skills you need in math in a certain other areas it just it's
00:01:01.700 obvious it can't it's like on its face obvious you go in and see these kids are behind and when
00:01:06.100 these kids are it was certain kids are behind you can catch them up by seeing what they don't know
00:01:09.200 and there's things like this it just work and if parents want to choose that you are on the left
00:01:13.460 if you are against that that is the leftist thing that is to stop them that is an insane thing to
00:01:18.500 say that you're on the left if you oppose parents choosing that education if you're choosing that
00:01:23.140 education you're and you're against that that is the leftist thing i can say from my own personal
00:01:28.420 experience that i when i finally did make it to school which was only a community college at first
00:01:33.480 and then eventually universities when i eventually went to school i was confronted with the evil
00:01:40.680 monolith of the monolith of the left right and i will say they definitely made it very uncomfortable
00:01:46.120 to talk about things like human biodiversity or the downsides of certain sexual arrangements.
00:01:52.160 And certainly they made it very uncomfortable to talk about the inherent sort of beauty
00:01:56.760 of America and the American founding.
00:01:59.060 That is how I cut my teeth.
00:02:01.160 I had human beings.
00:02:03.020 And by the way, they were not all just evil human beings.
00:02:06.780 They were a little insufferable at times.
00:02:09.000 But this human to human transmission of culture, whether it is one of catechism,
00:02:15.620 in which a human teaches another human what a religious worldview should be, or if it is me
00:02:23.880 arguing back and forth with my professors about whether or not black crime rates might in fact be
00:02:30.320 the reason for the disproportionate police encounters. All of these taught me what it
00:02:35.720 meant to be a human, human confronting other humans. Now, especially post-COVID, especially
00:02:43.080 after the lockdowns, especially after the valorization of first ed tech and working
00:02:48.680 from home and now AI tutors, it is supposed to be a human to machine to human. And then if for
00:02:56.180 some reason, the dreams of the transhumanists and post-humanists who are by and large developing
00:03:02.020 these technologies at the frontier, if that dream is true, it is no longer human to human. It's no
00:03:08.200 longer human to machine to human it's not even machine to human because what are we anymore it
00:03:13.640 is simply machine to machine so i would say that for me the case of alpha school still being we
00:03:20.340 don't really know exactly whether that works and in the case of say el salvador you know all praise
00:03:25.440 to bekelly for getting rid of the gangs but it would appear that the small sample size of this
00:03:31.800 171 school study is probably not going to be representative necessarily of what the future of
00:03:37.940 AI education will have two questions.
00:03:40.780 Yeah, go ahead.
00:03:44.040 Let me ask both of you a question
00:03:45.880 because I think what comes out in this
00:03:48.340 is that take the data center issue,
00:03:50.780 it's not just data centers,
00:03:52.480 is that there's two levels to it, right?
00:03:54.780 One is practical.
00:03:56.380 So data centers is one is, you know,
00:03:58.140 these are bad, they use too much water or whatever.
00:04:00.440 And the other one is something
00:04:02.180 Joe's been talking about a lot,
00:04:04.440 which is more that data center
00:04:07.500 as symbol it's a manifestation of something you disdain i guess is the way you put it yeah and
00:04:12.800 yes somebody a manifestation of something he disdains because it becomes a symbol of
00:04:17.200 let's call it you know centralized big tech you know authoritarianism it's something that's
00:04:21.720 oppressive right so those are two issues one is practically what's the reality here what should
00:04:26.820 be done and the other is what's behind that or what's the greater use so so first to joe okay
00:04:32.940 when it comes to the actual practical issue, right, of the data center, what do you think
00:04:37.680 should be done given that, you know, the response, which, you know, people who are builders will say
00:04:44.420 is, look, you all use them anyway. They're going to exist. So, what exactly do you want? And then
00:04:49.540 the other, you know, you seem to indicate there is an extreme of people just making stuff up.
00:04:54.080 So, what do you think should happen practically? Well, again, there's no the solution. Some
00:05:00.100 communities i think are quite happy to have these right some communities are saying we are we want
00:05:05.540 this algorithmic immigrant incubator in our community you'll give us checks that's sweet
00:05:12.760 we'll take it we'll send them there that's the number one thing if a community doesn't want it
00:05:19.060 then let them reject it don't this line that this is all driven by china or this is all driven by
00:05:27.420 the left. It's insane. These people have legitimate reasons. They love nature. They
00:05:34.140 love continuity of culture, you know, conservative impulses. That is one of the biggest complaints
00:05:41.340 about it. It wrecks the community. So what do you do? You give them the option. You let
00:05:47.760 them do it. And secondly, though, and I think this is very important because there's this
00:05:52.160 big problem of lying and misinformation, it is rooted not in China or the left coming up with
00:05:59.540 BS narratives. It is rooted in the fact that there is no transparency. People don't know what are
00:06:05.600 these 4,000 data centers being built for? Is it just simply for your emails? Is it for AIs to be
00:06:12.060 trained on your emails, to be writing your emails in the future, to be wooing your wife for you,
00:06:17.020 Maybe even composing your wedding vows for you.
00:06:19.740 What are they being used for?
00:06:21.500 We don't know.
00:06:22.360 So if there's a problem with the way in which people are projecting their disdain or their fear or their disgust,
00:06:29.040 it is very simple to dispel that.
00:06:32.000 Have a true, transparent accounting of what is happening.
00:06:36.940 And we know if we listen to the guys who are more than likely going to be using them,
00:06:42.100 Those being the companies like Google, Anthropic, XAI, and, of course, OpenAI.
00:06:47.980 What are you doing with these data centers?
00:06:50.160 Oh, we're training your replacements.
00:06:53.180 This is the greater replacement.
00:06:56.160 It's ephemeral algorithmic immigrants that will take your jobs.
00:07:00.780 Or watch over your shoulder like some Han Chinese in a Tibetan kitchen doing a photobomb.
00:07:06.600 Solution, there's five levels to the solution.
00:07:09.700 And first off, there is no the solution. We're all involved in a global experiment.
00:07:15.320 And one of the first elements of this global experiment is whether or not you assent to it, whether or not you accept it.
00:07:21.980 And so the first level of solution is going to be personal choice.
00:07:25.260 Do I give my kid a chatbot or do I run the risk of allowing a human being with all of his or her flaws or their flaws to to teach my child?
00:07:35.240 Right. And that that beginning level, especially in the absence of real legislation with real teeth, that beginning level is the most important.
00:07:44.720 Do I choose to believe that this sales pitch is true? The technology will make life better or not?
00:07:49.720 It's a risk. We're all running on assumptions. And I think the personal choice is the first.
00:07:53.640 The second is communal norms. Do we meet our lovers via digital platforms, via digital platforms?
00:08:03.400 Do we talk into the mic or do we not? These communal norms will make an enormous difference because, you know, person stands alone.
00:08:11.900 Above that, you have institutional choices. Does your school accept the imposition of surveillance technologies?
00:08:19.160 And in my opinion, sort of digital autonomous brainwashing technologies or don't they?
00:08:24.820 And then above that, you have the political. First, you have the municipal in which over and over again we see people saying, I don't want a data center in my backyard.
00:08:34.540 Yeah, some of them say it's going to suck up the water, but that's not going to be a talking point for much longer.
00:08:39.540 The big thing is it is a constant humming reminder of a future they don't believe in.
00:08:45.540 And above that, you have state legislation, which, of course, has no teeth at the moment, but perhaps will.
00:08:50.940 And above that, the national framework, this mythical national framework, which David Sachs has pushed continuously and produced absolutely zero evidence of any progress on.
00:09:02.300 And so I would say that it begins with your choice and it goes to your community.
00:09:08.240 And above that, it is enshrined in law. Is it OK for an A.I. company to monitor you or not?
00:09:15.000 Is it OK for an A.I. company to produce sex bots for your children or not?
00:09:20.800 These sorts of things will be enshrined in law, but for now, it's a matter of choice.
00:09:24.800 I think that what we're in at the moment, broadly speaking, is a global experiment.
00:09:30.920 Every single person in this room and every single citizen of America and everyone touched by the developing world, everyone touched by the digital system is in a vast experiment.
00:09:40.360 And so when we hear these things, Joe, when we hear these promises of new prosperity, if we hear these promises of a great golden age in America, we look back to previous sales pitches.
00:09:55.460 I personally look back to things like Oxycontin, the ultimate non-addictive opiate.
00:10:00.640 I look back to things like the Patriot Act, which would bring peace to America.
00:10:05.340 I look back to the 1965 legislation, which said that America should open its borders to the world and that we should accept these changes because these changes are going to be necessary for economic prosperity.
00:10:19.560 And so the line on the chart, at least as it's projected, goes up and up and up.
00:10:24.460 Maybe it's GDP. Maybe it's your Palantir investment.
00:10:27.520 Maybe it's your soon to be investment in anthropic, let's say, or a current investment in SpaceX.
00:10:33.060 But qualitatively speaking, we do not see an improvement. We see the kids being deranged by these technologies. We see education slipping away and falling into the hands of the tech companies, whether through basic ed tech or now the new supposed miracle of AI tutors or full on AI teachers.
00:10:55.040 We see people's relationships become more and more disconnected, more and more synthetic.
00:11:01.340 And so we don't buy the sales pitch anymore.
00:11:04.460 We don't buy the political promises.
00:11:07.080 I'll give you an example, which will be somewhat maybe controversial among Trump voters, of which I am one.
00:11:13.980 But a few days ago, maybe it was three days ago, four days ago, there was an onslaught of AI-generated slop coming from the Trump account on True Social.
00:11:22.920 And I don't blame necessarily Trump himself for those tweets.
00:11:28.080 I blame him for not being in control of his own public persona.
00:11:33.000 But what did we see?
00:11:34.160 We saw President Trump in AI slop form flanked by robot dogs and robot soldiers saying they will never sleep again.
00:11:44.780 And we should make them have nightmares and they will dream of us forever.
00:11:49.720 Which, logically speaking, if they're never sleeping again, how the f*** are they going to have nightmares or dream?
00:11:55.180 But that aside, what you need to consider is that the image of the future, which is right now pretend, the image of the future is aggressive.
00:12:05.240 It's dystopian.
00:12:06.440 And maybe that presently is pointed towards the Iranians.
00:12:10.340 Maybe that presently is pointed towards the Russians.
00:12:13.040 But when American people see this and they're told that they don't want it because they don't want data centers, they're going to be backward and poor.
00:12:20.820 They imagine, and I think quite rationally so, that these robot dogs and these robot soldiers will not always be pointed outward, but very well could, as in the case of January 6th, as in the case of in many ways, the entire Biden administration pointed towards us.
00:12:38.180 so it is thursday 10 september in the year of our lord 2026 the second day of the convention
00:12:45.940 we're gonna get into all of that mike davis the vice rory is uh riding shotgun his co-host mo
00:12:51.920 bannon's with us we're gonna get to posobic jack posobic's out with the charlie kirk team in phoenix
00:12:56.280 we're gonna get to all this today however folks historic last night joe allen when he joined our
00:13:02.080 team back in, I think, 2021 was a rigor for country music acts and for rock stars.
00:13:08.200 Last night, that was a crime scene.
00:13:11.280 The big mouth surveillance CEO, Bayonair Joe Lonsdale runs his mouth all the time, got
00:13:18.520 eviscerated in public on something that was streamed globally in a not a debate, just
00:13:24.740 a beat down that his reputation will never recover from.
00:13:28.000 I don't think we have to worry about Joe Lonsdale anymore running his mouth about big tech.
00:13:33.000 We could not be prouder of Joe Allen, who did keep it.
00:13:36.920 It was as gentlemanly as he could keep it, but it was a full scale beat down.
00:13:41.860 And they had to put police tape around that stage after it's over because Joe Lonsdale was just bleeding out of President Trump would say every orifice.
00:13:49.700 Joe Allen, absolutely incredible about taking down the tech oligarchs, which is actually one of the undercurrents of this convention.
00:13:58.620 The tech oligarchs are leading the Republican Party in the Trump movement on the road to perdition.
00:14:04.240 H-1B visas, the data centers, all of it.
00:14:09.160 But there's big fight back by the grassroots grassroots kind of on fire.
00:14:13.240 now there's a path to victory before us if we are highly disciplined and um and very focused
00:14:22.820 your task and purpose is to hold serve in the house and the senate in what 50 some days we're
00:14:29.260 gonna get into all that mike davis mo bannon are with us we're gonna track down jack vasovic of
00:14:33.340 course it's the anniversary of the assassination of charlie kirk and we're on the eve of the 25th
00:14:39.460 anniversary of 9-11. So it couldn't be a more profound week in the war room and in the nation
00:14:45.680 and at the convention, short commercial break. The Viceroy and Mo Bannon on the other side.
00:14:59.480 You don't wait until your house is on fire to install a smoke detector and you don't wait
00:15:04.420 into the wind and rain hammer your windows and the power goes out to prepare for a hurricane
00:15:10.680 and you don't reach for your seat belt after the impact because after the crash the hurricane or
00:15:17.100 the house fire it's too late similarly you don't wait until the dollar goes to zero before you buy
00:15:23.480 gold it's too late then diversify with precious metals and diversify now because you never know
00:15:30.460 what will threaten your savings next persistent inflation a weakening dollar unexpected financial
00:15:36.600 disruptions you don't know what's coming but you can take preventative steps and you can take
00:15:41.740 them today do that right now by requesting a free information kit on gold from my friends

00:16:24.500 We do have scheduled right now, Scott Besson.
00:16:26.460 We were going to get Scott on this morning, but he's giving talks.
00:16:29.680 You know, you have an RNC actual summer meeting on the side here, and so there's tons of breakout sessions, et cetera.
00:16:36.600 Scott is addressing the RNC this morning after his blockbuster speech last night, and the Secretary-Treasurer will be with us in studio as we currently plan it in the 5 o'clock hour.

00:17:30.480 So check it out today. Last night for the. I'm very proud of this for the war room.
00:17:36.140 Scott Bess at main stage with really the lead in to President Trump's speech. Fantastic job.
00:17:41.920 uh and of course joe allen historically mike davis people know you as the vice rory now we're
00:17:47.520 going to get into the to the vibe shift and how we're going to get this thing how we're going to
00:17:51.140 have victory but i met you years ago when you and the great rachel bovard had really you and you
00:17:59.240 guys kind of came out and said something that i had been saying but it had not in fact we're getting
00:18:04.820 tons of blowback and you said look these uh these oligarchs this big tech they're not on our side of
00:18:12.480 the football no matter how much did they ever get to the point which they weren't then of writing
00:18:16.640 campaign checks right and trying to buy off washington dc which is happening now we got to
00:18:21.120 talk about that for the next two hours um and orrin cass is going to join us great piece in the new
00:18:25.980 york times you and rachel bovard said hey this is kind of outside the american tradition and it's
00:18:32.660 really outside the conservative tradition and we have to address it talk to me about the joe
00:18:38.220 lonsdale your thoughts when you see joe annal here's what i love about joe he was writing for
00:18:43.380 sean davis's the federalist just putting up articles as he had them i don't think he was
00:18:47.980 getting paid his job was a rigor for country music acts in national these big you know the
00:18:54.200 rigors of guys go up into the rafters and risk their lives of getting the sound systems right
00:18:58.800 but obviously I saw this guy is brilliant he just needs reps and reps and reps first time he came on
00:19:04.560 the show he's very nervous said hey I've never really done television or radio or anything and
00:19:09.480 you saw last night I mean that's a crime scene the Dallas police had to go and and and and put
00:19:15.460 the yellow tape around it last night Mike Davis you've been at this a long time your thoughts
00:19:20.340 and impressions about this?
00:19:24.960 Well, I would say this about the tech bros,
00:19:28.880 big tech, Google, Amazon, Facebook, and Apple.
00:19:31.900 They're not our friends.
00:19:33.280 They're not friends of President Trump.
00:19:35.900 They're not friends of the MAGA movement.
00:19:38.540 They may pretend to be
00:19:39.720 because they're trying to get their AI amnesty,
00:19:43.840 but these are the same platforms,
00:19:47.200 Google, Amazon, Facebook, and Apple.
00:19:48.760 They got their Section 230 immunity so they can claim that they're not going to be liable for what others post on their platforms.
00:19:59.400 They use that Section 230 immunity from 30 years ago, along with antitrust amnesty, particularly under the Obama presidency.
00:20:11.920 And they they got this gatekeeping power over information and commerce.
00:20:17.700 They're too big. They're too powerful. They use that power to crush competition, shutter small businesses, cancel conservatives and others with whom they disagree.
00:20:30.780 And it caused a great deal of harm, right, not only to conservatives, but to children, creators, communities.
00:20:38.800 and now they want more. They want to say that they need this AI amnesty so we can compete
00:20:45.660 against China in this AI fight. They want us to steal like China so they can compete against
00:20:53.460 China. They want us to create these AI platforms that harm kids. They want to create these AI
00:21:03.420 platforms that will censor conservatives. They want to put data centers in our communities that
00:21:09.760 are ugly and you're going to cut down trees and they're going to suck up all the water and drive
00:21:16.660 up water costs and electricity costs. And we're just supposed to take all that and make these
00:21:21.720 tech bros richer when they're stealing all of our content from our creators. They're harming
00:21:28.200 children they're harming conservatives they're harming communities and we're just supposed to
00:21:33.640 go along with that because we're supposedly going to compete against china i would say to the tech
00:21:38.060 bros we should compete against china the american way like we've always done we don't need to degrade
00:21:44.520 ourselves like china to compete against china we can do it the american way and again let me talk
00:21:49.240 about let's let's pivot to mo i'm gonna get you in a second let's go to the politics of this um
00:21:55.500 right now because with china this is why it's a false thing the tech pros are all in business
00:22:02.440 with china and they're most importantly they're in business with the venture capital firms
00:22:05.860 that are are driving china's growth if we cut off the students if we cut off chinese nationals in
00:22:11.600 the frontier labs if we cut off the uh the equity and in debt and most importantly if we cut off
00:22:18.320 that the chips and particularly if we enforce the black market that's out there china's nowhere the
00:22:23.520 entire ecosystem of Chinese artificial intelligence is created and underwritten by the Americans. I
00:22:30.440 don't want to hear about China. They're lying about China. We could shut down China, and we should
00:22:34.540 shut down China, as we've said many times. But let's go to the practical. And by the way,
00:22:39.980 Isaac Lassiter is going to be with us tonight from the Young Texas Republicans, one of the
00:22:44.760 great groups in Texas, talking about this. But Mike, there's a poll out yesterday that Governor
00:22:49.820 abbott is tied with someone that has no name recognition in the state of texas and the reason
00:22:55.200 is data centers and the fact that you know governor abbott was the biggest proponent of data centers
00:23:00.880 is now trying to reverse that you know the great tom tiffany up in wisconsin uh is is leading that
00:23:07.020 race because he's he's anti data centers we're in trouble in uh we're in trouble in ohio because of
00:23:13.680 data centers uh mike rogers is making a run for it new poll out today i think they're in a dead
00:23:18.500 heat in Michigan because of his calling for a more term in data centers. What do we have to do
00:23:24.240 practically in Florida? A huge issue, right? It's hurting Byron Donalds already. He's got to come
00:23:30.280 out and be more adamant about the data centers as Governor DeSantis has been. What is your
00:23:36.780 recommendation, since you've been the practical guy of this for years, about how we have to,
00:23:42.140 particularly in the next 50 days, we have to send a consistent message out about AI amnesty,
00:23:49.500 about what we're going to do with AI, and particularly the manifestation of that.
00:23:53.400 As Joe Allen, you saw last night, Lonsdale has no counterargument. He got eviscerated and
00:23:59.560 humiliated on a global stage because there is no answer for it. So what is your recommendation,
00:24:05.380 Mike Davis? Well, we've talked about this with the war room posse quite a bit.
00:24:12.140 it's the four C's. If they want to pursue a national AI policy, it cannot just be with
00:24:19.500 Section 230 immunity and antitrust amnesty like we did 20 years ago. That's, we created this
00:24:25.120 problem, right? We created the problem where Google is censoring conservatives and shifting
00:24:31.880 elections to Democrats by the way they feed their algorithms, how they present news to their
00:24:38.920 users. We saw Meta, you know, Mark Zuckerberg pretends like he's President Trump's best friend
00:24:45.900 right now. He spent $400 million in 2020 chasing President Trump out of office and subjecting
00:24:52.800 President Trump to unprecedented, relentless, republic-ending lawfare. They're not our friends.
00:24:59.760 Yeah, sure, he came up with a million dollars for the inauguration after Trump already won.
00:25:04.560 $400 million to beat them, $1 million after Trump won. That's not the art of the deal. That's the
00:25:09.880 art of the steal, right? These guys are not our friends. They're never going to be our friends.
00:25:14.220 They're pretending to be our friends so they can get their AI amnesty, but they're going to run
00:25:19.920 over real Americans in real America during that process, including, again, children, conservatives,
00:25:27.120 creators, communities. We have to protect the four Cs. And that's the framework that the Republicans
00:25:33.900 must use if we're going to do a national AI policy. I've had many discussions with Trump's
00:25:41.160 team on this, and they're not going to get their AI amnesty without protecting the four C's.
00:25:49.120 Without that, Mo, what I'm doing, I'm coming to you after break, and I'm going to cast there
00:25:53.260 because Mo was there live last night. But in the practicality, we had President Trump,
00:25:57.320 and you know this, we'll talk about it later, the vibe shift we've seen already in the grassroots
00:26:00.740 saying hey uh against all odds and against what the media is saying and some of the polling saying
00:26:05.800 there is a path to hammer through uh holding the house and there is a path to hold the the senate
00:26:11.820 it's not easy right it's a rock it's the narrow gate but mike if we don't get this right in the
00:26:18.260 next 50 days and can convince the american people we're going to lose a bunch of house seats on this
00:26:22.640 topic and i think we could lose a couple of governorships and even a senate seat or two
00:26:28.360 We've got about a minute in this segment.
00:26:30.360 Your thoughts on just the practical politics of it.
00:26:33.200 So since you don't live in the world of theory, you live in the world of – you come from the school of hard knocks on this topic, sir.
00:26:42.700 Well, let's just talk about this, that AI is as American as apple pie.
00:26:48.860 Let me just remind the War Room Posse what Google did.
00:26:52.160 They had a secret program with the American CIA called Project Maven, right?
00:26:58.560 Google was running our Project Maven program, and then they stopped.
00:27:04.340 Google stopped doing this and left our CIA program high and dry.
00:27:08.960 At the same time, Google did Project Dragonfly, where it was doing the CCP's mass surveillance program, right?
00:27:18.520 So Project Maven for America was bad, according to Google, but Project Dragonfly for China was good, according to Google.
00:27:27.540 So I don't want to hear these tech pros pretend like big tech, these tech platforms are pro-American.
00:27:35.780 They're not. They do China's bidding, as we saw with Project Dragonfly and Project Maven.
00:27:42.300 Mike, hang on for one second.
00:27:43.720 OK, here's where we're at the convention.
00:27:45.500 We got Mike Davis, the Viceroy, and Moe are co-hosting with me.
00:27:49.300 We're packed.
00:27:49.820 We got a ton of guests.
00:27:50.780 We're going to talk about what happened last night, how it's going to drive us forward,
00:27:53.620 what's installed for today.
00:27:55.640 It's also commemorate, unbelievable, the first anniversary of the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
00:28:02.420 And we're also on the eve of the 25th commemoration of the 25th year of 9-11.
00:28:08.300 All next in The War Room.
00:28:09.560 as president trump continues to fight for this great country one of his most important actions
00:28:17.400 could soon impact the wealth of millions of hard-working americans like you of course you
00:28:23.620 won't hear about this in the mainstream media or on the nightly news they'll never admit trump
00:28:29.220 was right about anything but according to my dear friend and frequent war room guest
00:28:34.620 Jim Rickards, President Trump has a plan that could unlock an estimated $2.7 trillion in American resources, creating opportunities that many investors may not even realize exist.
00:28:47.100 Jim recently put together a new presentation explaining what he believes is happening, why it matters, and what Americans should be watching right now.
00:28:55.860 To get the full story, go to RickardsWarRoom.com.
00:28:59.700 That's RickardsWarRoom.com and watch Jim's free presentation.
00:29:03.720 Again, that's RickardsWarRoom.com. That's RickardsWarRoom.com to learn more about this $2.7 million, $2.7 trillion in American resources that President Trump is creating a massive opportunity.
00:29:19.500 Go check it out today. RickardsWarRoom.com.
00:29:21.940 War Room. Here's your host, Stephen K. Mann.
00:29:26.840 Okay, we're live at the convention.
00:29:28.500 uh we're going to be this afternoon we're going to have secretary treasury scott benson's uh
00:29:33.280 going to join us um also philip patrick will be there caroline wren is going to be my co-host
00:29:38.840 mo uh and orrin cast about to join us here in a moment he's got a magnificent piece up in the
00:29:43.940 new york times they'll push out also semaphore ben smith who i think is one of the smartest guys
00:29:50.440 in all media he's the founder and editor-in-chief publisher and editor-in-chief a semaphore which
00:29:55.780 as you know we push out a lot of 704 articles because they're on top of so many topics particularly
00:29:59.760 economics um headline for ben smith and ben smith has you know ben smith is not maga okay he's he's
00:30:09.500 definitely not maga but he actually attended he came to dallas one of the reasons he wanted to
00:30:14.540 attend the farm and see joe allen and particularly lonsdale because lonsdale is such a a prominent
00:30:20.060 uh figure in the accelerationist movement the headline is ai loses a dallas debate
00:30:27.300 and ben smith really goes through blow by blow how uh it was a crime scene last night that joe
00:30:33.700 lonsdale was eviscerated eviscerated live on stage before a global audience mo you were there give us
00:30:40.100 your uh you were part of the support team for joe allen from the war room you and posobic uh
00:30:46.020 Darren Blanton and some others tell us about it I completely agree with you Joe Allen eviscerated
00:30:52.780 Joe Lonsdale it was like seeing you know when your computer freezes and you get the the spinning
00:30:57.600 wheel it was like that seeing Joe Lonsdale try and come with any response to Joe Allen he just
00:31:03.540 completely completely eviscerated him you know Joe knew exactly what he was talking about and
00:31:09.920 Joe Lonsdale did not. And I also don't agree when being told that if you don't want AI to take over
00:31:17.680 education, then you're a leftist. That is 100% incorrect. And to come out with such a blanket
00:31:23.020 statement like that, Joe Lonsdale, you have no idea what you're talking about. We do not want
00:31:27.640 our children harmed by AI. We don't want them. We don't want it in the education system. That does
00:31:32.660 not make me a leftist. That doesn't make any parent a leftist. That makes us a patriot.
00:31:39.920 Mo, we're going to come back to you on all this.
00:31:43.720 And Mike Davis, hang on for a second.
00:31:46.060 I got Orrin Kass.
00:31:46.660 I got a cold open.
00:31:47.560 Let's play the cold open.
00:31:48.340 We got Orrin Kass.
00:31:49.020 Got a great piece up in the New York Times today about this very topic.
00:31:52.940 Orrin, as you know, is the populist nationalist economist that's been doing such a great job over at Compass.
00:31:58.560 Let's go ahead and play the cold open.
00:32:00.520 Here's that artificial intelligence labs are racing to build systems they won't be able to control.
00:32:06.680 In a series of social media posts this week, 27-year-old Jacob Coxon says he spent the last three years doing pre-training research at both OpenAI and Anthropic and claims neither company is acting responsibly.
00:32:23.560 He wrote in part, quote, they are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives.
00:32:30.360 As the Wall Street Journal notes, recent hacks by models from OpenAI and Anthropic have illustrated how AI systems can adopt nefarious goals and try to conceal them from humans.
00:32:44.660 Once the systems begin to improve on their own, Coxon said, he fears they could advance enough to refuse commands.
00:32:52.100 Just last week, during a meeting with G20 officials, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said, quote,
00:32:59.060 I think some things are going to go very wrong with cybersecurity unless people act quite urgently.
00:33:07.620 And on Sunday, OpenAI's chief scientist advocated for a coordinated industry slowdown, writing in a blog post, quote,
00:33:16.220 This is a time that calls for extreme caution.
00:33:19.780 I am concerned no one is prepared for the consequences of a continued rapid rise in machine intelligence.
00:33:27.440 That chief scientist, along with Jacob Cox and and more than one thousand other A.I. researchers, recently signed a statement urging global global government coordination.
00:33:41.420 OK, Oren Cass. Joins us from American Compass, the article, the the opinion piece or really the analysis piece in The New York Times, as I like to call them.
00:33:55.320 the headline is big tech fooled america once the second time's not going so well orrin cast from
00:34:02.460 american compass joins us what do you mean by this walk us through this piece uh very well timed i
00:34:07.920 might say orrin it couldn't be better on the second day of the convention because we got to
00:34:12.840 get our minds right here of exactly what we're doing particularly with the oligarchs prepare to
00:34:17.220 write big checks against, I don't know, 80-15 polling, it shows, that are for the side of
00:34:24.760 the humans in this. Your thoughts, sir? Yeah, thanks for having me, Steve. I made my jumping
00:34:31.240 off point the data center kerfuffle. Obviously, people are very angry at data centers, but I think
00:34:37.500 the question is why? What's going on here? And the most fascinating thing I found in my research is
00:34:42.680 is I went back and compared just the bottom falling out of support for data centers. I mean,
00:34:47.060 a few years ago was a good thing, right? Politicians showed up for a ribbon cutting
00:34:50.840 for a data center. We've seen the public turn against data centers three times faster than
00:34:55.900 they turned against nuclear power in the year after Three Mile Island. I mean, there is something
00:35:01.780 much bigger than a nuclear meltdown basically going on here. And that can't be about power
00:35:08.240 consumption or water use. It's about what's inside the data centers. It's about the AI.
00:35:13.900 And I think it's really, really important for politicians, for people in this industry to
00:35:19.200 understand what is going on. Why are people so upset about and opposed to AI? Because to be
00:35:27.160 honest, I'm kind of an optimist in the long run. I actually think AI could do a lot of good things,
00:35:32.200 but what it's doing now isn't that. What we are seeing is an exact replay of what happened with
00:35:37.880 the last generation of big tech, the Facebook and the Instagram and, you know, all of this stuff
00:35:43.320 that was basically done to people, not for people. And American people are rightly saying, look,
00:35:48.840 you have to show us how this is going to be good for us if you want us to be supportive of it. And
00:35:54.440 frankly, that is a responsibility both in San Francisco and in Washington to get this right,
00:36:02.060 because if we get it right, it could be great. But the path we are on right now, it's a disastrous
00:36:05.840 one how is it and mike davis i i want you to jump in here uh so how did we get to this
00:36:15.020 right you know particularly republicans we've always been more free market supporting is is
00:36:20.420 it it was at the time i mean davis and bovard had been fighting this thing for years and when they
00:36:26.220 first started he and rachel they they were the people on the right were mocking it now this thing
00:36:31.080 And this is what I mentioned. This is governor's race in Texas. There's no way Abbott should be in a dead heat with a woman who doesn't have a huge amount of name recognition, but it comes down to the situation of of data centers, a big thing driving this.
00:36:45.140 How did we get into this situation? Like, for instance, how did you get the three times faster than after three mile island, you know, against a nuclear power? How how did that actually happen? What did they do to cause this?
00:37:01.080 Well, here's the problem with these big tech platforms is as conservatives, we believe in the free market, but free markets require functioning markets.
00:37:13.300 Right. And when you have these trillion dollar big tech monopolists like Google, Amazon, Facebook and Apple using their market power to crush competition, cancel conservatives, harm kids, harm communities, harm creators.
00:37:29.560 we no longer have a functioning market.
00:37:32.540 We no longer have a free market.
00:37:34.460 And that's why we have antitrust law enforcement
00:37:38.220 to break up these trillion-dollar big tech monopolies.
00:37:40.760 That's what we've been pushing
00:37:42.380 at the Internet Accountability Project,
00:37:44.480 which is the sister organization,
00:37:46.320 to the Article III Project with Rachel Bovard.
00:37:50.140 Like you said, Steve, five years ago,
00:37:53.060 we have the arrows in the back like pioneers
00:37:56.280 for taking on that fight, but we were right.
00:37:59.260 And we've largely made that case on the right and won that fight.
00:38:04.200 I think the problem is that D.C. politicians want to make these big corporations happy, right, because these big corporations donate to campaigns and they are useful politically.
00:38:16.540 But then the problem is you get the blowback when you make these big corporations happy and they put the data centers in these communities like Iowa, where I'm from.
00:38:26.420 it doesn't fly. It doesn't fly with real Americans in real America. And the politicians who push
00:38:34.360 these data centers, as Oren laid out quite well, there's going to be massive blowback against them
00:38:40.420 because people are tired of them. They're ugly. They consume too much water and electricity and
00:38:45.600 drive up utilities. And just this whole concept of we're just going to let AI run wild and not
00:38:53.560 have any guardrails and it's going to, AI is going to replace humans. Are we not going to
00:38:58.760 have workers? We're just going to have to pay a minimum income to Americans. And so they can sit
00:39:03.320 around and do nothing. And these AI machines take over. It's just, look, we're not anti-technology,
00:39:08.840 but we have to have rules of the road. We have to have guardrails. So we don't have the problems
00:39:13.260 that we experienced 20 years ago with section 230 immunity and antitrust amnesty that led
00:39:19.560 to the problem we saw with big tech, right? We cannot have this concentrated corporate power.
00:39:27.120 So, Oren, you're a unique individual in that you're an economist, and you're also
00:39:31.480 optimist about this. Your thoughts and observations about Mike's comments in your article?
00:39:38.920 Well, look, I think Mike's putting his finger on something really important, which is that
00:39:43.100 the American people are looking at this and saying, what's in it for us? I mean,
00:39:48.100 one of the huge tragedies of what, you know, not only big tech, but I think Wall Street plays a
00:39:53.860 role in this, certainly politicians have played a role in this, is that historically Americans were
00:39:58.600 the most optimistic people, right? Our embrace and optimism for the future, our belief that
00:40:06.020 technology was a good thing that would make people's lives better, our willingness to accept
00:40:10.640 disruption, because we knew that on the other side of the disruption, there were going to be
00:40:14.780 real gains for everybody. That was part of the secret sauce for America. And we've gone through
00:40:20.220 now a 20 or 25 year period of that just not happening, of people saying it was going to
00:40:25.560 happen. And instead seeing all the gains go to a narrow set of people and seeing, you know,
00:40:31.020 the Americans generally sort of used as caged guinea pigs just to kind of test things out on
00:40:36.560 and at the end of the day exploit. And so it enrages me in a sense that we have done this,
00:40:44.480 That we have seen this turn in the American psyche away from optimism, away from faith that technological progress is going to be good for people.
00:40:52.620 And if we want to get back to that, we're going to have to see, you know, the AI companies, we're going to have to see lawmakers think about it and take it seriously and realize that, you know, my favorite piece of the essay is just looking at how this used to happen.
00:41:08.920 Like when Thomas Edison was developing the light bulb, he also developed power generation and transmission and wiring and the light bulb, right?
00:41:18.200 This was, we're not just going to create a technology and see what happens.
00:41:21.160 We're going to actually make sure it gets to real people.
00:41:23.680 When Alcoa developed aluminum, they literally built high-quality cookware and went door-to-door selling it so that people could see the benefits of aluminum.
00:41:32.540 them. And, you know, the tech companies might say, oh, it's easier to just sort of sit here
00:41:37.420 in our glass offices and make money from the platform, but they need the American people to
00:41:43.600 support this. They are not going to be able to bulldoze this through a nation that doesn't want
00:41:48.420 it or believe in it. And so, you know, to report about me being an optimist, I want to see this
00:41:53.600 work. I want to see the labs do a better job with it. I want to see the lawmakers do a better job
00:41:58.480 with it, but they're going to have to understand why they are so far behind the eight ball and be
00:42:04.500 willing to actually do the work to get it right. Orrin, if you could stick with us through the
00:42:11.720 break, I'm going to ask you and Mike, and Mo was in the convention hall last night. She was also
00:42:17.100 over at Joe Allen's debate, is we have a bigger strategic issue we have to deal with. Your article
00:42:23.620 talks about that but we also have just a very practical that we get 50 days to be able to
00:42:29.380 message this appropriately and not just a spin or some sort of messaging that people are not
00:42:34.180 going to believe but what we really stand for as some of these races you just have to understand
00:42:39.940 some of these house races a couple of the senate races and particularly the governorship of texas
00:42:46.100 and texas is the jewel of the crown of the union uh may come down to what people believe what what
00:42:52.820 what the party stands for, and what the Trump movement stands for
00:42:55.840 regarding technology, artificial intelligence, and data centers.
00:42:59.460 Orrin Cass from American Compass is with us.
00:43:02.080 The Viceroy, Mike Davis, from Article 3, is co-hosting.
00:43:06.140 Mo Bannon's there.
00:43:07.560 He's got a lot to go through.

00:44:52.980 there's been definitely a vibe shift and we're trying to get uh burkholm's going to join us next
00:44:58.740 hour we're also going to talk about commemoration of the first anniversary of the assassination of
00:45:02.460 charlie kirk we're going to go out to charlie's headquarters jack basobics out there in uh in
00:45:07.360 phoenix he's there for the day to do the commemoration um the also jenny and uh glenn's
00:45:14.620 story 972 patriot finest phone service in the country also uh find out when you call that 972
00:45:21.440 patriot talk to somebody with the east texas accent of why patriot mobile backs the causes
00:45:26.200 that they back conservative and christian causes so make sure you check that out we'll try to get
00:45:31.100 them in about the the vibe shift oran cast with us from american compass real quickly oran when
00:45:36.520 When you talk about Edison and General Electric and doing this and now Cohen going door to door and selling pots and pans, have you made these recommendations?
00:45:44.280 It seems to me that the tech oligarchs are curdling accelerationists to get to AGI, which is really part of the singularity, which is obviously quite dangerous that we don't know actually what we're doing here.
00:45:59.880 Have they responded well to your recommendation that become Thomas Edison and actually show
00:46:05.780 people the basic functionality of this, sir?
00:46:08.900 Well, look, I think it depends who you talk to.
00:46:11.660 And it's this underlying question of, do they believe they can just steamroll this?
00:46:15.900 It doesn't matter if anybody likes them.
00:46:17.540 It doesn't matter if anybody supports them.
00:46:19.840 You know, they're building this whole new super intelligent being.
00:46:23.560 And that's the end of the story versus the people who actually take this seriously and
00:46:28.260 say, yeah, we actually are in a market democracy. We do need and we should want the support and
00:46:36.020 engagement of the public. And so, you know, people in that first group think this is silly. People in
00:46:41.280 the second group take it very seriously. And unfortunately, I think right now the first group
00:46:46.420 is bigger. And this is all going to come to a head when things really do start getting blocked.
00:46:51.980 And then they're going to complain. They're going to say, well, this is unfair. Why don't people
00:46:55.160 understand what we're doing. Well, because you didn't even try. And so what I'm doing here and
00:47:01.540 what I hope we can make progress on is convincing these folks they should really try. It is in their
00:47:07.520 own economic interest to find ways to show that this stuff is good for the public. And if they
00:47:14.780 don't do it, it's going to be their fault when things go way off the rails.
00:47:19.140 but okay so you're one thing i know about you you're very practical about when it comes to
00:47:25.620 kind of politics we have a dilemma here and the dilemma we have abbott who should be winning by
00:47:30.440 10 points down at texas is you know and i realize all these polls inaccurate because they can't do
00:47:35.560 but if this race is a lot closer than it should be uh and you got other races around the country
00:47:41.380 that are just like this around the issue of data centers and tech what is your practical advice of
00:47:47.440 what we do in the next 50 days to convince the American people that we're on the right side of
00:47:52.060 the argument, which means we're on their side of the argument, sir. Well, I think we need to be
00:47:57.260 talking about this as a bargain or a deal in a sense. You know, the president had that post
00:48:04.080 last month where he said, you know, if you obstruct data centers, you're going to end up
00:48:07.980 backward and poor. There's sort of a kernel of truth in the point that, you know, data centers
00:48:14.080 are really economically valuable. The problem isn't just sort of thinking you can bully people
00:48:19.120 into accepting them even when they don't see what the benefits are going to be. So I would love to
00:48:24.920 see politicians out there saying, look, there is a good path for AI and a bad path for AI. And we
00:48:30.620 realize we are not on the good path right now. And to get on the good path, here's what we're
00:48:35.060 going to do. We're going to tell the AI companies, and we're going to use regulation and law if we
00:48:40.880 have to, that public support, that the ability to build data centers, the ability to power them,
00:48:47.060 the ability to make the profit is all going to be connected to whether or not you can demonstrate
00:48:52.500 how this actually benefits people in their everyday lives. And by the way, last piece of it,
00:48:58.200 you know, we are going to tax this stuff. We do think a share of the value you say you're going
00:49:02.860 to create does need to go back to the public good. But that's not just a check to mail out
00:49:07.720 everybody to tell them to shut up. We're going to use this to make Social Security solvent. We're
00:49:12.080 going to use this to make Medicare solvent. We're going to use this to make sure we can provide
00:49:15.600 support to families raising young kids. That if you actually want to be part of this country,
00:49:20.200 you are part of the social compact, and the value you're creating is going to go toward
00:49:25.560 making life better for everybody. Orrin, where do people go to get your writings,
00:49:32.520 to get this article? We're going to push out today, and the war will possibly be a force
00:49:35.720 multiplier but where they go for the american compass to learn more particularly the magazine
00:49:39.940 all of it sir what are your yeah so so please come to commonplace we're at commonplace.org
00:49:46.840 uh you can subscribe there we're we're writing about this every week great articles great
00:49:51.020 newsletters uh and then you can find me on on x at oran underscore cass
00:49:56.080 oran thank you thank you for writing this piece too perfect timing sir stuck the landing
00:50:03.360 appreciate that appreciate thanks for having me on mike davis the practical we've got 50 days
00:50:11.220 and uh we've got to make we got to make a convincing argument we have so many convincing
00:50:15.740 arguments on immigration the border uh all of it actually scott did a great job in the economy
00:50:22.260 one of the flies in the ointment here is that they don't trust us right now totally on this
00:50:28.360 issue of big tech and you fought this fight forever so for the next 50 days i know understand
00:50:32.920 Then we get a longer term plan. But the practical what would do what do we need to do like in the state of Texas to convince people that, hey, we're on the right side.
00:50:41.520 We're on the side of the angels on this one, sir.
00:50:46.520 We need to tap the brakes on A.I. amnesty.
00:50:50.820 We need to make sure we're having debate and buy in from the American people through their elected state reps, through their elected members of the U.S. Congress.
00:51:02.420 We need to get this right. We cannot do what we did 20 years ago with a with a Section 230 immunity and antitrust amnesty.
00:51:12.220 This is this A.I. is too important. It can disrupt too many lives of real Americans and real Americans.
00:51:20.760 I agree. I agree. We're going to go to we're going to go to break.
00:51:23.260 We're going to come back. I got a question for you. You led the viceroy, as you often do.
00:51:27.780 You're the tip of the tip of the spear, and you've got the scars to prove it.
00:51:33.880 You led the Todd Blanche confirmation, which wasn't easy.
00:51:39.320 What did Maine Justice, didn't Maine Justice drop a bomb on us late last week?
00:51:43.140 Sir, we've got 30 seconds before we go to the second hour.
00:51:46.060 Didn't they drop a bomb on us last week, brother?
00:51:50.840 Look, the Trump Justice Department are our friends.
00:51:54.480 They're our allies.
00:51:55.580 They're our warriors.
00:51:57.780 I don't think they thought this one through, but, you know, there's – but that's all right.
00:52:03.400 We're going to – they filed a statement of interest.
00:52:07.760 It's interesting.
00:52:10.580 It's largely meaningless.
00:52:12.080 The court can ignore it, and the court should ignore it.
00:52:16.400 We're going to get their minds right.
00:52:18.640 They are.
00:52:19.260 They're great guys over there, Todd Blanch and the team, and they get so much on their plate.
00:52:23.400 The viceroy is going to be with us.
00:52:25.540 Bannon is going to be with us.
00:52:26.740 We got Bergman, we got a ton of people, second hour.
00:52:29.660 The vibe shift on the midterms.
00:52:33.580 They ain't laughing at us now because there's a path to hold serve in the House and hold serve in the Senate.
00:52:41.260 Not going to be easy.
00:52:42.980 The rocky path in the narrow gate next in the war room.
00:52:48.380 The 15th, or as we say in the war room, 15 October.
