Bannon's War Room - WarRoom Battleground EP 104： NYT - Trump Turns AZ Republican Party To MAGA⧸Working Class; Baris OnThe Polling Around Biden's Economy; Kennedy Of The Trump Political Strategy

00:00:00.000 this is what you're fighting for i mean every day you're out there what they're doing is blowing

00:00:17.720 people off if you continue to look the other way and shut up then the oppressors the authoritarians

00:00:25.480 get total control and total power because this is just like in arizona this is just like in georgia

00:00:31.260 it's another element that backs them into a quarter and shows their lies and misrepresentations

00:00:36.340 this is why this audience is going to have to get engaged as we've told you this is the fight

00:00:40.120 all this nonsense all this spin they can't handle the truth war room battleground here's your host

00:00:47.220 stephen k bannon thursday 28 july the year of our lord 2022 you're in the battleground uh i've got

00:00:55.340 my co-host for the hour is going to be brian kennedy one of the founders of the committee

00:01:01.280 on the present danger china also a former head of claremont and which has been under the supposedly

00:01:07.560 be under attack recently but the new york times article is kind of a paid advertisement

00:01:11.280 in addition to the head of the american strategies group uh brian thank you very much uh for joining

00:01:16.860 us today we're going to get we're going to go through a bunch of candidates talk to richard barris

00:01:20.220 about polling he's doing but i hear i got a question what is your earlier today you know we

00:01:26.560 had the we had the uh announcement of you know 0.9 growth in the second quarter and all day long

00:01:32.800 it's been nothing but spin from the administration we're not in a recession this is just a slowing it

00:01:38.580 may you know may be trending towards the recession i may uh fuel a recession like the negative what is

00:01:44.460 your sense of one where the economy is and number two the messaging that the biden regime is putting

00:01:50.140 out about it well the biden administration seems to be engaged in a massive effort to uh simply deceive

00:01:58.220 the american people president trump the other day called it not misinformation but disinformation

00:02:03.840 and i think these uh the way they're playing with numbers and playing with terms

00:02:08.900 and when you actually have a recession saying it's not a recession they uh it's a kind of gaslighting

00:02:17.240 that i think the american people are tired of and and any decent free person would want the straight

00:02:24.640 story from his government and he's not getting it today i think the economy is in trouble today

00:02:29.780 and i think people are very uncertain about what's going on and all this talk about workers

00:02:35.420 and where they're where they are in the economy i think should be something that americans are very

00:02:41.660 concerned about i'm not sure we really understand everything we have done to harm the u.s economy

00:02:47.940 from two years of dealing with the china virus

00:02:50.820 let me ask you i know you advise a lot of companies and corporations and heads of companies what is your

00:02:58.460 sense when you talk to people making decisions capital investment expansion uh adding people because they

00:03:05.220 keep falling back on hall everybody's got a job you got help wanting signs everywhere i don't i don't see

00:03:09.940 it like that i think right now you've got a real tendency of big techs laying off a lot of people

00:03:14.340 got consumers laying off people retail's laying off people uh i think they're wrestling past the

00:03:19.540 graveyard in these employment numbers and what's your sense in talking to decision makers

00:03:23.720 well a lot of folks i believe just simply see that uh they're going to wait and and not do

00:03:33.740 anything they're not investing money right now they're not hiring people right now unless you're

00:03:38.820 in the service parts of the economy which still need people but the bigger more more important more

00:03:45.180 higher paying jobs i think people are stopping and they're not i think businesses right now are going

00:03:51.440 to take a hard look on whether they're going to expand because they're not getting the straight

00:03:55.640 story from the biden administration there's a great deal of uncertainty the biden administration's

00:04:01.060 creating more uncertainty and that's not a great environment to try to run a business so i i do

00:04:07.720 think that's real a real concern and those people who are working in the in the service parts of the

00:04:13.440 economy one wonders how long they're going to do that for if the government's going to pay them to

00:04:18.660 stay home you hear a lot i talk to a lot of entrepreneurs who they hire people they work for a few

00:04:24.340 months and they go back on unemployment they're workers and that that's not a sound way of running any

00:04:30.080 kind of economy but you see that throughout throughout the country today well let's go out

00:04:37.300 let's go out to the hustings let's go to arizona eli crane eli just recently uh got the president

00:04:42.660 trump's eli tell us how uh why did president trump endorse you what what's your feeling of why

00:04:48.100 it's a very competitive race uh all throughout the country he doesn't really endorse that many

00:04:52.940 people why did he why did he endorse eli crane well steve thanks for having me i appreciate it i think

00:04:59.200 the reason he uh supported us and endorsed us was because we've shown uh not just in our military

00:05:04.960 service but even in our business and now running this campaign that we are hardcore conservative

00:05:10.860 america first and we are you know we we're fighters out here and i think that uh the trump administration

00:05:17.820 is tired of the same old mod mod one politician with the blue suit and the you know the uh american flag

00:05:25.640 you know uh pendant on his uh on his suit that says all the right talking points but at the

00:05:31.880 end of the day is part of the uniparty and america last and not america first so we're honored to have

00:05:37.700 his endorsement steve

00:05:38.620 just talked to brian kennedy about this announcement day recession when you go throughout your district

00:05:45.740 uh what are folks saying about the economy out there when you're going out meeting people because i know

00:05:50.140 yours is a grassroots organization you're knocking on a lot of doors you're working phone banks

00:05:53.480 what are folks telling the like brain their thoughts on the economy are they debating you

00:05:59.080 on the uh esoteric nature of a recession is it two quarters of down or is it trending down what are the

00:06:05.600 hard-working folks out in arizona saying about it no they know exactly what's going on they know that

00:06:10.700 we're in a recession they know that this administration continues to lie about everything

00:06:14.740 from what's really going on at the border you know to what's going on in our elections what's going

00:06:19.700 on in the economy they don't trust um they don't trust this administration and that's why they want

00:06:24.520 it that's why they want change talk to me about the district what what's your what's your sense of

00:06:31.100 this district give me tell me how it's going out there how the economy is going out there

00:06:34.380 you know this is an amazing district steve we uh have some of the most beautiful territory in

00:06:40.480 arizona we've got flagstaff sedona prescott yavapai county pine top show low it's it's a beautiful

00:06:46.940 area and even comes down south of phoenix um you know the folks out here are really concerned

00:06:52.040 they're concerned about the border they're concerned about our elections they're tired of uh radical

00:06:57.840 leftists destroying the country but there is equally as tired of rhinos that do nothing about it 0.86

00:07:04.060 and that's why they're willing to uh you know look past the traditional looking sounding talking

00:07:09.900 politicians and they're looking for real warriors and real fighters and that's why we're hoping to

00:07:15.360 represent this district and that's why we're so proud to have the trump endorsement and just this

00:07:20.180 week we actually got the jim jordan endorsement as well steve so we are we are doing really well

00:07:25.840 and we're really proud of this campaign

00:07:28.180 new york times had a big article the other day said that uh arizona these primaries are probably the

00:07:37.640 most important that are going to come for the whole trump movement and for really the future direction of

00:07:42.140 the republican party and what they said is that you're seeing a real class distinction that maga

00:07:46.840 america first this trump movement and the candidates are coming up you know was it abe hamaday for for

00:07:53.100 for attorney general carrie lake mark fincham for secretary of state yourself and congress race couple

00:07:58.720 of the other folks running for congress really uh trump has galvanized a working class middle class

00:08:04.740 movement that wants real action uh for the working class and middle class and no more nonsense and

00:08:11.540 you've got also in arizona because of the history of the state very vested interest in real estate

00:08:17.060 banking finance really from the mccain ducey uh you know establishment part of the the party uh what's

00:08:25.100 your sense as a new york times right is that we actually have kind of a class thing going here between

00:08:29.520 the maga movement your supporters and uh and the vested interest in in banking and real estate in uh

00:08:36.080 in in arizona absolutely steve and i think that you know you could really see the difference this last

00:08:43.060 week when pence had a rally and trump had a rally i believe there were only a couple hundred people

00:08:47.480 that showed up for pence's rally um and that had more of your moderate establishment republicans show up

00:08:52.600 for it and then up in uh you know the prescott valley area we had president trump show up i think

00:08:58.220 we had about 5 000 people show up to that rally it was massive it was huge and to your point steve you

00:09:04.340 always talk about arizona being at the railhead of the country it is we showed that with the audit i

00:09:10.180 think you're going to see that again uh come up this next tuesday and you know the maga movement

00:09:15.660 the america first movement is where the momentum of the republican party is thanks to president

00:09:21.520 donald j trump eli people want to know uh find out more about you but they're specifically going

00:09:28.940 to know because we're in the final hours final days of this race how they get to you where you're going

00:09:33.980 to be speaking what you're going to be doing as far as events so where do people go to find out more

00:09:38.560 as we grind through this over this weekend and then to tuesday next week yeah thanks steve uh

00:09:44.120 if you want to find out more about us where we're going to be all they have to do is go for

00:09:47.740 go to eli4arizona.com we appreciate all the support from this audience and we love what

00:09:53.140 you're doing steve thank you so much for teaching us about action action action

00:09:57.440 kyle uh eli thank you so much uh appreciate it we're going to have everybody look forward to

00:10:04.700 having you back on this weekend i think there's going to be a big uh a big seminar and i think

00:10:09.480 it's going to be out uh i thought it was going to be out in arizona on the voter integrity we're

00:10:13.240 gonna laura logan's going to be out there we're going to hook into a lot of people so we'll make sure

00:10:17.020 we'll get you over the weekend i know you're gonna be working hard eli crane out in arizona too

00:10:21.060 remember eli is a trump endorsed candidate for the house of representatives for congress eli crane

00:10:26.640 thank you very much brian kenny let me go back to you for a second uh before i go to my next guest

00:10:31.360 you've spent more time in arizona really as a senior uh trump associate out there's the new york

00:10:39.240 times right is this thing really galvanized i call i call arizona the railhead of the trump

00:10:45.300 movement even given texas and florida and tennessee and all these great mega states we have

00:10:51.120 arizona is the hardest core of the hardcore and the times has ascertained that there's a class

00:10:56.260 thing going on that you have uh you have uh the uh worker-based molt a very diverse um you know

00:11:03.900 inclusive nationalism participatory populism we got dan schultz out there you get all these people out

00:11:08.460 there the precinct strategy it's really become from it's a bottoms-up grassroots movement that

00:11:13.060 supports america first and trump and then you've got the vested interest of the people that have

00:11:17.960 put the capital to work over many many decades uh in in arizona the banking establishment the financial

00:11:23.860 establishment the real estate interest really personified by mccain and ducey and that crowd

00:11:29.880 do you buy that assessment uh well i i i certainly agree that there's a divide the reason arizona is so

00:11:39.880 important is because it was arizona that fox news called on election night for joe biden when everybody

00:11:47.380 and i mean everybody in the arizona establishment that donald trump had won they were having they

00:11:54.360 were having caravans go through arizona prior to november 8th november 3rd excuse me that were over a

00:12:03.880 hundred miles long just the enthusiasm for president trump was off the charts so that when fox news called

00:12:11.560 it for arizona people were outraged they thought something was wrong and they knew that they were

00:12:16.520 going to have to get to the bottom of it the thing about arizona is you have working class hispanics you 0.99

00:12:24.840 have white black brown it is not about race it's about america it's a very popular populist pro-american

00:12:35.640 state and so you're seeing this big debate going on between that maga candidate the america first

00:12:43.880 candidate and the more traditional insider republican like doug ducey and all the corporate supporters that he

00:12:53.720 has and that divide i think is very very real the interesting part it seems to me is that it does come

00:13:01.000 down to workers that will the republican party stand up for workers or just corporate interests

00:13:09.240 donald trump showed how you could stand up for the american worker and defend corporations and american

00:13:16.360 businesses so far these republican establishment types all they care about is whatever the corporations want

00:13:23.400 and the workers be damned and the time has come to change all that and i think to the extent that that this

00:13:31.400 tuesday you have a a big divide i think you're going to see

00:13:37.240 real enthusiasm for the maga candidates whether it's cary lake mark fincham or whoever that these are the

00:13:44.200 people that represent everyday arizonans i think they're also people who represent a new political

00:13:50.760 establishment and it's not about republican democrat or independent it really is it's not a new party

00:13:57.240 but it's a new representation of a political movement that frankly you've been leading here

00:14:02.920 for the last two years here in the war room and that that's a very exciting thing i think for anybody

00:14:11.000 who's watching american politics you can feel it it there's that much enthusiasm out there

00:14:16.840 let's go to missouri let's go to missouri they got another huge primary on on tuesday this one's

00:14:24.040 gotten really uh quite personal on a statewide level particularly in the senate race kyle labue

00:14:30.280 is running for the house kyle tell folks about this primary that's coming up it's one of the most

00:14:35.480 important primaries missouri is a hardcore trump state you got to come out of there with mega

00:14:40.520 candidates we know you're the mega candidate out there walk us through what's happening in the state

00:14:45.000 right now as far as uh the sense of of the what biden's done to the economy where people's heads

00:14:50.920 are at and where the mega movement is so as we're out on the ground every day uh we are just knocking

00:14:58.440 doors talking to people and they're all asking us the same question what are you going to do for us

00:15:03.400 right away we're suffering from these gas prices it's getting crazy and you know it seems like we got a

00:15:09.160 president that he doesn't only uh not ride a bike well he isn't a good president you know he goes over

00:15:14.200 to foreign nations and begs them for 50 50 cents off a gallon and acts like he's he's really won uh

00:15:21.640 the american people need relief right away and so what we need to do is we need to remove the red tape

00:15:28.360 and help these people right away and uh what i'm seeing from people is they just they're tired of

00:15:34.280 the same establishment as always you know i'm the only candidate in the race that is fully uh i i paid

00:15:40.680 for this campaign out of my own pocket i'm fully funded i don't have any pack money or anything behind

00:15:44.920 me and we're doing it the old-fashioned way we've knocked over 30 000 doors and uh people are recognizing

00:15:51.000 that they're like you you actually are out here and you're actually trying you're looking us in the

00:15:55.640 eyes and talking to us and asking us what what we want and uh you can see a difference in in our

00:16:01.160 campaign versus other people's campaign and i think you're seeing that all over the country that the

00:16:05.400 people that are true magna they put in the work you know you know we're we're talking about numbers

00:16:13.080 whether we win eight seats 10 seats 25 seats 40 50 seats what do you get the sense of people in the

00:16:19.960 district of they're tired of just talk for instance when you win what types of action do they want to

00:16:29.880 see the leadership in the house and what type of actions do you believe they want to see you as

00:16:34.760 your as their representative take on i'll tell you something that they love about me is i have a plan

00:16:42.280 right away to introduce a bill called one thing at a time and it's really simple if we're talking

00:16:48.040 about infrastructure that's all we're talking about we're not talking about infrastructure

00:16:52.200 and a thousand things behind it all the way down to transgender reassignment all this crazy stuff that 0.89

00:16:56.840 they tack on these bills if you're talking about uh helping veterans or you know funding schools

00:17:02.520 whatever it be it's one thing at a time we're only talking about that because people want transparency

00:17:08.120 they don't want the uh that you know these these special interest projects just flowing through on the

00:17:13.000 backs of of what american people need and so that's something that i would try to push right away

00:17:18.600 one thing at a time if we're debating a bill that's the only thing we're talking about so

00:17:22.440 the american people know that we're not trying to slip anything past their eyes and i and i can tell you

00:17:27.560 as i have i've put that out there it is really popular people say we are ready for a transparency

00:17:33.640 right now we don't want we don't want our eyes covered and told to be set in the corner you know

00:17:41.080 for instance there's a chips bill up that now the republicans are fighting but some it's got some good

00:17:46.200 stuff in it about 50 billion dollars to actually bring the chip facilities back from taiwan and

00:17:51.080 bring them here but the democrats and some republicans have put another 200 billion dollars

00:17:55.880 of just corporate welfare on top of it uh also mansion drops this uh green new deal bill which

00:18:02.280 i don't know is 400 billion in spending and they say it's going to save all this money but it looks

00:18:06.520 like nonsense so you're talking about another seven or eight hundred billion dollars of spending just

00:18:10.680 here in the last couple of hours the last 24 hours and the house leaves tomorrow and doesn't

00:18:14.920 come back until september do your folks feel like they're dialed into that do they you feel like

00:18:20.040 they in the district they understand of all the stuff that's going to wash it in the scale of the

00:18:24.920 spending a tree in here a tree in there you got the federal reserve do they feel like anybody

00:18:29.800 reaches out to them to say hey here's exactly what's going on not only that but they feel like

00:18:36.440 they're not being heard you know we have career politicians that are bought up by corporations

00:18:40.920 and foreign nations we have to get ahead of this fast people don't realize that maybe or maybe they

00:18:46.520 do the danger that we have of foreign nations buying up supply chains and also family farms you 0.77

00:18:52.760 know we got legacy farms here in missouri that uh foreign nations are trying to buy up constantly

00:18:58.120 we've got to get in front of that and i wouldn't be opposed to not letting them buy any of our our

00:19:02.600 our food production in this country we don't want to be relying on other on other countries like we 0.81

00:19:07.800 are right now for oil we need to get back to america first we need to drill in america we need

00:19:13.480 to produce food in america and we need we need to produce products in america and go back to what

00:19:17.880 trump was talking about we need fair trade you know nobody would stay in business if every time you

00:19:23.640 were in business with somebody you got ripped off and that's what's going on in american people right now

00:19:28.280 kyle how do people particularly in the run-up to this is very intense fight out there in every

00:19:34.920 level every primary and the statewide offices is brutal right now how do people find out more about

00:19:41.240 you specifically where they can get you if you're going to be at events how they follow you and and

00:19:46.280 get to meet you kylebrew.com um we're going to be in boliver tonight we're doing the old school we're

00:19:53.320 going to be in the park come on out boliver missouri uh we'll be there uh there's an ice cream

00:19:58.120 social we'll be talking about these things and more i want to hear your voice i want to hear what

00:20:02.520 you guys need and because we're going to take it to washington i'm your uh america first i'm a

00:20:09.880 not a career politician i'm a small business owner and i'm a small town guy and uh i'm tired of of

00:20:16.440 us not being represented in the media

00:20:21.080 kyle uh thank you very much say hi at the uh ice cream social tonight tell them the boardroom's

00:20:26.600 thinking about them got their back and love them i will thank you steve for everything you're doing

00:20:31.080 it's good to see you back on here thank you brother so brian let me come back to you for we

00:20:38.840 get we got bearish with some some very important polling on on on the economy uh you hear something

00:20:44.760 like that and people in dc would have all scoff we gotta do 50 things at one time but you're hearing

00:20:50.120 the people say hey look and particularly i think this i think what's happened the last 24 hours is

00:20:55.320 illustrative you've got a a 250 or 300 billion dollar chips bill that started with something i

00:21:01.240 know you and i supported navara supported we got to get the chip plants from taiwan back here is going

00:21:06.920 to take obviously some capital some underwriting i think it's 50 billion dollars that part of that

00:21:12.200 the bill's 200 billion dollars 300 billion it's got everything in it okay they've dumped it's a

00:21:16.600 crystal tree they've hung everything on it then mansion understands this the strongest signal out

00:21:22.040 there i'll talk to barris about this when he's on the strongest signal that shows that they know

00:21:26.360 that they're going to lose the senate is mansion has a revelation last night and they behind the

00:21:31.640 closed doors they've been negotiating this they drop a i don't know 400 billion 500 billion so we got

00:21:37.640 you know 750 800 billion dollars in spending and he they supposedly have some tax taxes but who knows that

00:21:44.040 ever gets implemented and it's so convoluted and so dense i i've been talking to people since last

00:21:49.880 night really smart people they can't make out some of these bills they don't know how they all function

00:21:55.240 nobody's reviewing them so when the people missouri say hey how about this call you know calls a guy

00:22:01.080 from a small town you know he's he's a little bit like mr smith goes to washington he says how about

00:22:06.440 this how about we just do if we're going to do one let's do one at a time if it's going to be big we

00:22:11.400 come back and explain to people we have hearings we come back to the community maybe have a couple

00:22:16.280 of town halls is that can you govern like that in the modern world are the sophisticates in davos

00:22:23.080 and new york and the city of london and and and uh and brussels and washington dc say that's the

00:22:29.800 rubes the problem we got is that's how rubes think brian kennedy yeah isn't isn't that was very

00:22:36.120 refreshing what kyle had to say he's a real guy and americans want real guys not to bring everything

00:22:43.560 back to donald trump but trump was a real guy he tried to approach everything based on common sense

00:22:50.200 just plain old american common sense that's what kyle is talking about washington today and the media

00:22:58.280 you know enables all this tries to make everything sound way too complicated as if everyday people can't

00:23:05.400 understand it when in fact you know they can understand it i swear the the democrats are

00:23:14.360 really trying to take the country down in so many ways you you don't want to exaggerate and say this

00:23:19.880 is a communist takeover but they are certainly motivated by the very worst intentions they think

00:23:26.280 we can just keep on printing money this way and spending our way into some different position than we

00:23:33.480 are today i mean the country is not doing better and yet they propose more spending as if that's

00:23:38.840 going to make a difference the republicans though are the are the people who are disappointing me today

00:23:45.080 where are they explaining what is going on they're all it's almost as if they think just by being quiet

00:23:53.000 the biden administration is going to implode and they're going to win in the primaries and in november

00:24:00.200 and that's not enough you've got to actually make a case to the american people and explain exactly

00:24:06.840 what is going wrong with what the biden administration is doing and so the biden administration itself

00:24:12.440 seems delusional that they're making a difference but the republicans unfortunately also seem delusional

00:24:18.680 to me that just sitting there on the sidelines waiting for the biden administration to implode

00:24:24.200 is going to be enough they've got to start fighting guys like kyle they're fighting trump is fighting

00:24:30.040 you know blake masters in arizona is fighting you need these kind of guys out there getting into

00:24:36.600 office and really making a difference you know i think that's a very wise because everybody in the

00:24:43.400 republican side leadership they're just saying be quiet don't say anything uh it'll just uh it'll just all

00:24:48.280 go away before we go to break we're gonna bring richard barris the great people's pundit uh the

00:24:52.920 pollster talk about the economy but i also want to talk to him about next tuesday is going to be

00:24:57.560 brutal it's a big day for maga it's a big day for america first big day for the republican party and

00:25:03.000 this country um let's go back to the chips bill for a second you and i have supported strategically we

00:25:09.240 got a massive problem with the chips we never should have let all the high-end chips go over to

00:25:13.240 overseas you know taiwan is silicon valley west you got to defend it it started as a 50 billion

00:25:18.200 dollars which is still a lot 30 to 50 billion dollars for the chips part alone it's huge but

00:25:21.960 it metastasized 250 billion dollars and nobody talked about it and now we're kind of presented

00:25:26.520 with oh we don't support it and you had these bills out of control we got about a minute brian how does

00:25:31.320 that happen without the republican party every day talking about something as important as bringing

00:25:36.040 chips back here to the united states well look our entire economy is based on these chips unfortunately

00:25:44.360 and the idea that we've let that be concentrated in taiwan and we love taiwan they're an ally

00:25:51.640 but the idea that we've let taiwan be the the main manufacturer of these so close to communist china so

00:25:59.000 vulnerable to communist china just means that american policy makers are not doing their jobs

00:26:05.880 we should have been incentivizing businesses decades ago to build these industries here in america and

00:26:13.480 if not mandating it really making it a very high priority of successive administrations to see this

00:26:20.520 happen president trump started it but didn't have any support because all the corporate types in the

00:26:27.480 republican party were simply fine leaving these things offshore when in fact you have to bring these

00:26:33.720 things back to this country it's a it's a really uh dire predicament we're in right now between the

00:26:40.520 chips and medicine uh we we've dropped the supply it's unbelievable okay hang on for a second brian

00:26:49.160 brian kennedy is my co-host for the hour we're going to bring in the uh richard barris i think if not the

00:26:54.760 best bolster one of the best bolsters out there he's going to talk about his polling on the economy we're also

00:30:03.400 war room battleground with stephen k bannon

00:30:14.760 okay welcome back thursday 28 year of our lord 2022 brian kennedy formerly head of claremont and now

00:30:22.760 chairman of the community on present day danger china is my co-host i want to bring in richard

00:30:27.160 barris the people's pundit richard i know you want to talk we've got a lot of stuff to talk about in

00:30:30.520 economics and your polling but you've been out you you've polled air you've been all in these

00:30:34.840 battleground states you've been doing the polling the question i want to ask you the new york times

00:30:38.920 had this fascinating article where they said you're finally seeing it in high relief they it's been in

00:30:44.520 other states we've seen high relief that maga is a working class populist economic nationalist and

00:30:50.680 inclusive it's multi-racial multi-ethnic you've got a large hispanic working class middle class hispanic

00:30:56.920 component to it and in arizona it's coming down to very entrenched uh real estate banking uh the old

00:31:05.080 guard the old establishment of the republican a party out there uh kind of the mccain uh factor

00:31:11.720 now with doocy versus this uprising uh that's personified by people like mark fincham and and

00:31:18.840 eli crane and carrie lake and uh and and and galvanize a lot like like brian said by what happened

00:31:25.560 out there on three november when you were our pollster that night uh and we saw we were sitting

00:31:31.720 there going uh i don't really see why they called arizona so quickly as you know uh there's a there's

00:31:37.720 a memoir today says that uh are coming out in a couple weeks it says rupert murdoch told the trump

00:31:42.280 campaign all you lost by it's so the numbers are locked and i think now we're down to eight thousand

00:31:46.440 votes we know they're illegal too so trump actually won arizona what's your sense as you go around the

00:31:52.040 country in particular look for next tuesday has maga transformed the republican party and particularly

00:31:58.360 primary voters into a working class uh middle class really political force that will really uh

00:32:06.120 deliver uh come these primaries sir yeah this is why uh that new york times article is really

00:32:12.280 important and when we released the cd media big data poll steve i told people look at a few things in

00:32:17.320 those cross tabs look at age look at race and look at generation the fact is the pence wing of the

00:32:23.720 party the ducy wing of the party they're hoping that nothing but older white voters who are third

00:32:28.680 generation and more come out because if anybody uh below the age of 64 comes out in any meaningful

00:32:35.080 numbers they're going to get crushed not just beaten crushed look at the numbers that we released

00:32:40.920 carrie lake leads with 18 to 29 year olds by 20 points she leads 30 to 44 year olds by almost 20

00:32:48.360 points it only gets close when it's 65 plus and even that uh she's still up it's just a matter of

00:32:55.480 single digits as opposed to just a dominating win hispanic voters that are going to come out in the republican

00:33:01.480 primary they're going to vote uh for lake and masters by overwhelming margins so that new york times article steve

00:33:09.400 is lamenting uh the future that i've been trying to make this commentary for about a week now which

00:33:15.320 is it's not really commentary it's fact one wing of this party appeals to the demographics that are

00:33:21.480 the future not only of arizona but of this nation the other party is literally dying literally dying so

00:33:31.640 if you want to pray for low turnout every election vote for uh robeson and and mike pence's people you

00:33:38.120 know i mean that's that's the choice let me uh by the way i want to thank l todd wood and the team

00:33:45.000 over at cd media that's now your sponsor for these polls or you do a lot of these massive big data polls

00:33:50.040 it's been incredible they're such a great news operation but here but here's the question i'm

00:33:54.520 gonna get to brian kenneth saying you you were one of the first to ascertain that this is happening

00:33:59.880 this is why i kept saying arizona is the railhead of this because there you can see it in high relief

00:34:05.160 what is it about the trump message what is it about the maga message that's reaching working

00:34:13.080 class hispanics reaching african-american males reaching white uh white working class you know

00:34:19.320 workers reaching suburban moms what is it about this message that for all the time the republican

00:34:25.320 party has tried to do this and failed miserably that now here in 2022 right that we're seeing this

00:34:32.600 really start to take a real form of something to the fact that the new york times was not happy

00:34:37.240 writing this article you could tell they're saying hey this thing is this thing this thing is real

00:34:42.840 this thing is real and it's coming for you what is it about the message that attracts people to

00:34:48.200 volunteer and attracts people to go vote in primary you know i think it's a few things and i think we

00:34:53.480 just heard patrick say one of them donald trump even used the word common sense conservative you know

00:34:59.000 put that up against what bush said which was compassionate conservatism and then and ended

00:35:03.640 up not being very compassionate at all uh it led to a financial crisis or at least they did nothing

00:35:09.400 which hurt hispanic people badly disproportionately steve in places like nevada and arizona and south

00:35:15.640 uh texas south florida now so they they needed uh you know they needed some cajoling to bring back

00:35:21.000 around and donald trump he had something and then the movement itself you know new leaders like

00:35:26.040 carrie lake and blake masters they believe that they're going to fight it really is that simple

00:35:31.480 the working class in this country feel abandoned they feel like they have no voice and they feel

00:35:36.600 like you know voting is really a waste of time nothing will change what america first does for

00:35:42.680 them is make them think that their vote is worth it again and gives them a voice again it really is

00:35:47.640 that simple now i'm looking at carrie lake that is a tough woman she's gonna fight for me i'm looking 0.94

00:35:52.680 at donald trump he's not gonna back down that guy's gonna fight for me blake masters he's gonna

00:35:57.080 fight for me that's what it is they've always been there the republican party like a mit romney a

00:36:03.320 technocrat a plutocrat whatever you want to call them a kevin mccarthy look at these people they're

00:36:08.120 jokes they're jokes nobody in real america will think that somebody like them is going to fight for

00:36:15.160 them it really is that simple nobody steve you're a student of history nobody wants to follow people

00:36:21.320 who don't have the courage of their own convictions nobody follows cowards nobody

00:36:28.760 it's that simple it's not politics it's history let me bring let me bring in brian kennedy brian

00:36:35.240 you've been out there you've seen this you've seen the rise of this movement is uh his brother uh

00:36:39.880 richard barris correct in your opinion absolutely uh first of all richard is i think he said that

00:36:48.040 perfectly that was a perfect expression of what the electorate is thinking right now but remember

00:36:53.880 this this is not sort of a new problem for republicans i i recall abraham lincoln's speech

00:37:00.920 to the wisconsin wisconsin state fair when he was asked and this is of course you know 160 years ago

00:37:09.640 he was asked what you know they were pushing him on like whose side we were should we republicans be on

00:37:16.440 should we be on the side of labor or capital and business as if they're you know you had to be

00:37:21.400 both or excuse me one or the other and you you would think the modern republican would think well

00:37:29.720 we ought to be on the side of of labor or capital and that's how establishment republicans think today

00:37:35.880 but what did lincoln say he goes we should have we should have a very strong disposition toward

00:37:41.960 toward labor the working man this is lincoln talking about this in the 1850s the working man

00:37:49.400 because if the working man if we have laws that protect the working man's ability to make money

00:37:55.560 he can work hard he can make money he can save money and he can start his own business if we just

00:38:01.960 are on the side of of capital and business then the working man never has a place to go well again not

00:38:09.240 again not to keep pushing everything back to president trump but that was president trump's

00:38:13.400 bias let's see what we can do for the working man capital can take care of itself and always does

00:38:19.640 the working man what do we do to take care of him to make sure that he has a leg up that we're

00:38:25.320 watching out for his interests and to the extent that republicans today are talking about those issues

00:38:31.800 what's good for the working man they're going to win and if they don't don't follow that they simply

00:38:38.040 focus on what's good for corporate america i think they're not going to do as well they may still win

00:38:43.800 seats overall but they're not going to do as well and people will get disenchanted

00:38:50.840 richard barris you've done tremendous uh uh analysis and polling about the economy today you

00:38:56.520 and i've been following this about i think what's upset people today as i've gotten uh feedback is this

00:39:02.440 whole debate of whether how many angels are dancing on the head of the pin is the recession

00:39:06.840 not a recession biden regime is in full spin mode walk me through what what what what you know from

00:39:13.240 the from your polling and where the american people are about the economy and other aspects like that

00:39:19.640 versus just spin about nomenclature sir yeah this is why uh the spin won't work because uh the fact is

00:39:29.080 the registered voter economic confidence index when it first came out came on the show when i spoke to

00:39:34.200 you about it and i told you this index was designed to do a few things one be a little bit more predictive

00:39:40.040 than consumer indexes when it came to elections the impact on elections but also to to predict uh

00:39:45.640 recessionary periods growth periods the american people knew we were in a recession before lagging

00:39:51.160 indicators uh came out and confirmed it which is what the bea uh puts out uh you know we're looking

00:39:57.320 backward now what was growth in the last three months uh but the truth is the american people

00:40:02.120 knew and this is what happens when this index converges what it is telling you is that people

00:40:08.760 had a negative opinion of current economic conditions current business conditions the labor market and

00:40:14.360 general economics overall but over that six month outlook for many months they felt maybe the economy

00:40:20.520 will get better what happened in may uh which was so important was that those the present

00:40:26.440 situation and the current uh conditions index converged which told us uh in and in prior periods it signals

00:40:33.720 a recession because what it means is that people are in a malaise and they no longer feel that the

00:40:39.080 economy will improve over the next six months so that's why at that time we were you know waving the

00:40:45.400 red flag you know recession recession and and the data was always there to begin with um you know i think

00:40:51.800 people gave the biden administration a little bit of time steve but that final indicator which is the

00:40:57.720 inflation indicator about uh personal income total family income is it going to be enough and to cover

00:41:04.280 your expenses how do you feel about it once that went as negative as the rest of them that was it it pulled

00:41:09.640 the uh it pulled the that outlook that six months out outlook it pulled it on on par with the current

00:41:15.880 conditions and that was it i mean we tried telling people at the time so good news at least uh for

00:41:21.960 followers of the public polling project at least we did our job and the index worked but unfortunately

00:41:27.720 this is one of the times where you wish you were wrong no it's it's the reason that your guys your

00:41:33.320 analysis is so good um we're 100 starting on sunday we're 100 days out and i'm not asking you to

00:41:39.320 forecast but over the last 24 hours in this city because the chips bill but particularly because the

00:41:44.520 mansions changed your mind on the on the on the uh green new deal bill the the hammer down and they've

00:41:50.280 put the name to show you how how corrupt they are the name of the bill is the inflation fighting bill

00:41:56.680 or the inflation control act is in your opinion given your sense of the understanding of how the lived

00:42:03.320 experience of american citizens today in the economy uh how they're thinking about the economy and

00:42:10.360 coupled with your political polling do you believe there's anything the democrats can do

00:42:15.880 is there any bill or anything because this inflation control act will take years to implement

00:42:20.920 but is there anything they can do on messaging or whatever as you see it right now to turn around

00:42:26.840 the ship and avoid coming up on the rocks and actually getting blown out in november as you see it

00:42:32.840 100 days out i think the only ones who can screw this up are republicans themselves i do think there's

00:42:39.480 something going on right now steve where the leadership does not want an influx of mega freshmen

00:42:45.560 in the house in the senate because then god forbid they'll have to explain uh to the voters why

00:42:51.640 they can't get anything done or they can't block democrats but the bottom line is you know this is

00:42:56.760 the summer and there is always a severe non-response bias problem among republicans in the summer that's

00:43:03.800 why that labor day uh is really you know typical give or take a week or two is always the you know

00:43:09.240 the point when people really start to look at the polls in the summer democrats will edge a little

00:43:13.320 bit of an advantage because republicans participate less and that that tends to influence most of the

00:43:18.440 methodologies that most pollsters use in media and in university all of the uh all of the predictive

00:43:25.000 indicators are bad and with joe manchin doing what he did that should tell everybody that joe manchin

00:43:32.280 expects this will be the last year he will see in the senate majority for a long time plus joe manchin uh the

00:43:38.920 word is he he's done steve this is the last term so he he he knows it's up he knows the jig is up

00:43:45.720 that's why he did it he he won't he wanted to pay off real quickly i want to go back to it you're

00:43:50.840 you're you believe and you're a numbers guy but you believe now this talk that i'm hearing a lot

00:43:58.040 that the leadership in the republican party wants to take a powder they don't want 50 seats 60 seats 70

00:44:03.640 seats they don't they'd rather have it a tight so they can control it a tighter uh a majority to

00:44:09.720 obviously take control but to be tighter because what last thing they want is a bunch of donald trump

00:44:14.120 endorsed folks showing up there and raising holy hell are you a believer in that absolutely kevin

00:44:20.360 mccarthy does not want to end up like john bainer and remember what happened to kevin last time there

00:44:25.480 was a wave and influx of people that they didn't know didn't get a chance to vet he didn't get this the

00:44:30.760 gavel he couldn't make it he didn't have the votes paul ryan had to be the compromise candidate

00:44:35.800 there is no compromise candidate anymore so right now you have kevin mccarthy and mitch mcconnell

00:44:40.680 basically counting votes not counting seats i i mean i hate to be the breaker of bad news to everybody

00:44:46.120 now there's only so much they can do to control that steve um but they want a manageable establishment

00:44:52.520 majority that is why uh next tuesday it's not just arizona it's michigan it's missouri it's very

00:44:59.080 important the last of these primaries will will we'll do a lot to define who the republican party

00:45:03.960 is going into not just 2022 but the presidential election in 24. and and and washington with culp

00:45:12.280 and uh and joe kent i mean it's a next tuesday i cannot overemphasize how big how big uh you're

00:45:18.440 doing amazing work i want to thank your wife because i know she does the work you're just the good

00:45:21.880 looking guy they put on the camera uh the actor that she does uh how do people how do people by

00:45:30.280 the way and thank l todd wood and the team at cd media that's helping sponsor this now uh how do

00:45:35.400 people get to you both on your social media and how they get to the site again get her in truth at

00:45:41.000 people's pundit and uh they can follow me on locals with everything we're doing which is

00:45:45.080 peoplespundit.locals.com and arizona if you want to check that polling out i reference cdm.press

00:45:51.400 and you you'll see it all over the front page we just put out uh ballot initiatives too which ones

00:45:56.280 look like they're going to pass in arizona which ones look like they're going to fail in november so

00:46:00.120 that's also really interesting but yeah definitely go check out the cd media big data poll steve

00:46:06.360 uh richard thank you very much appreciate it all the best brian kennedy uh thank you brother brian

00:46:13.560 first off frank i gotta talk about china for a second but i gotta ask you are you do you buy

00:46:17.000 into rich i'm hearing this from a lot of smart people barris being the latest latest but i'm

00:46:22.040 hearing this from a lot are you buying into that theory that they're not fighting for a bigger

00:46:25.560 majority because they they want people they can control well look steve there's been a political

00:46:32.200 revolution in this country that trump started with the america first movement i guarantee you

00:46:39.400 establishment republicans like kevin mccarthy do want do not want a trump like majority they don't

00:46:46.680 like those kind of folks they want the corporatist types who are happy to go along and be controlled

00:46:53.400 opposition they don't want to they don't want fighters of the kind richard's talking about

00:46:58.840 and so you you will see i think on tuesday a war for the soul of the republican party i have a slight

00:47:04.760 confession to make too i was in aspen last week and i sat through part of the republican governor's

00:47:11.560 association so i was i was literally you know 10 feet from brian kemp at one point and to hear him

00:47:20.120 and doug ducey and the rest of these republicans the last thing they want is donald trump or anybody

00:47:26.760 like him back in office as i say i think they're delusional but they still are there they still are

00:47:34.280 powerful they still control a lot of money they're funding today opponents to the joe kent's and to

00:47:42.520 the blake masters and anybody who wants to stand for an america first agenda it really is disgusting

00:47:49.560 at some level because if you follow the track that they're on we're going to be slaves someday to

00:47:55.640 communist china we've got to get america back on track to the to the kind of programs that president

00:48:02.760 trump was talking about and i would say president trump would be well served to basically quit

00:48:09.800 praising kevin mccarthy and his leadership because that leadership is not supporting the trump agenda

00:48:18.440 i'm going to try to get you back on tomorrow or saturday to talk about this the chinese situation

00:48:22.520 about the bailout the 148 billion dollars is too big an issue to to jam in here i want to go back to the

00:48:28.040 republican governors were they in shock when hogan's uh proxy lost on tuesday night because

00:48:35.000 hogan's been very bitter there hasn't been coming together in in maryland my understanding that they

00:48:39.960 were all rooting for hogan uh because next stop is going to be new hampshire and hogan was going to

00:48:44.120 get this kind of never trump were they in a state of shock when when hogan's proxy lost to trump's

00:48:49.880 proxy in in maryland sir uh it it certainly seemed that way to me um that i i really do think they

00:49:00.200 just don't understand the american people they think that trump was a phenomenon that that was simply

00:49:06.840 going to go away and we were just going to get back to you know the jeb bushes and the doug ducys of 0.99

00:49:12.280 the world running for office but when you see this persistent move toward america first type candidates

00:49:20.440 these republican the establishment republican types simply don't get it they don't want to acknowledge

00:49:26.680 that this is a real thing that i mean they're doing but having said that they're doing their best to

00:49:33.240 make sure these folks lose and every time these folks win i think they're recalibrating how they think

00:49:39.480 about our politics which is all the more reason we have to double down on tuesday with all these

00:49:45.240 folks who do want to represent america first and actually take the fight to washington brian how do

00:49:52.760 people get to you on social media how do they get to the committee on the present danger all the great
