Bannon's War Room - WarRoom Battleground EP 179： The Orgy Of Malfeasance

00:00:00.000 this is what you're fighting for i mean every day you're out there what they're doing is blowing

00:00:15.500 people off if you continue to look the other way and shut up then the oppressors the authoritarians

00:00:23.260 get total control and total power because this is just like in arizona this is just like in georgia

00:00:29.040 it's another element that backs them into a quarter and shows their lies and misrepresentations

00:00:34.120 this is why this audience is going to have to get engaged as we've told you this is the fight

00:00:37.900 all this nonsense all this spin they can't handle the truth war room battleground here's your host

00:00:45.000 stephen k bannon it is monday 14 november in the year of our lord 2022 we're almost a week after

00:00:54.640 the election and i tell you so much is happening we got the lame duck about to start which is going

00:00:58.600 to be this orgy of malfeasance here in the united states i don't even know why they let people that

00:01:03.760 have just either been voted out of office or left office participate in passing laws but they do

00:01:09.040 until the last day of december plus you have these massive leadership battles to still the

00:01:14.320 the uh the election is not totally ascertained they're trying to steal it from carry lake out

00:01:19.500 in arizona of course they've already stolen in nevada and other places and you've got the house

00:01:24.520 up in the air we don't know if it's 219 220 221 uh we're going to have congressman matt gates is

00:01:29.960 going to join us shortly he's uh coming he's going to go on the record and say he's not voting for

00:01:35.480 he's not going to vote for um uh mccarthy as a speaker uh already laid that out mtg shocked the

00:01:44.880 political world today came on war room it's up on media right now just put it up on getter she said

00:01:49.940 hey to avoid a liz cheney speakership she is going to back mccarthy and of course you know 1.00

00:01:57.380 the jake sherman of a punchbowl called it the mtg wing of the party which is the house freedom

00:02:04.180 caucus other populists other nationalists we thought we'd get russ vote in here we got so much going on

00:02:08.880 all these major issues events uh and uh events that we want to russ and come on here and talk

00:02:17.240 about a lot of it but first russ i got to ask you about you're the first one that really came out and

00:02:21.740 you don't really get that involved it seems like an elective politics a lot but you'd had a belly

00:02:26.060 full of this you came out with really i think a brilliant i forget it was like a 14 point uh twitter

00:02:32.040 stream last week thread that laid out the case against uh the cartel the case against the cabal

00:02:38.760 on capitol hill what say you is it's heating up they're supposed to do it tomorrow they're talking

00:02:43.080 about pushing it off the knives are out annie biggs has announced annie biggs from the house

00:02:47.220 freedom caucus and a friend of the war room on the show a lot very close to him personally

00:02:52.040 has announced he's running for speaker um it seems like it's complete chaos on capitol hill

00:02:58.980 what say you sir yeah the bigs candidacy is very important for two reasons number one it gives

00:03:05.800 the house freedom caucus a holding pattern for them to be able to articulate that they're against

00:03:11.540 mccarthy and to set the stage for an end game down the road but it's also very critical because it

00:03:16.780 prevents the number one excuse from being made by a non-hfc member and that is no one was in the race

00:03:23.540 that's what they use that's the that's the defining excuse that they go home and i call it mansplaining

00:03:29.420 to their voters and what they say is no one's in the race and so i voted for mccarthy that is now

00:03:34.620 not an option with the candidacy of andy biggs so right now we are ahead of schedule you know

00:03:41.300 the mccarthy forces were really freaking out all weekend uh they know they don't have the votes 0.91

00:03:47.080 matt gates will tell you they don't have the votes let me also address uh congressman green's uh

00:03:52.720 comments and i love marjorie she's one of my favorite members of congress uh and this is an issue we

00:03:58.580 disagree on but rubbing is racing look the issue of the liz cheney speaker is not real

00:04:03.140 liz cheney first of all doesn't have a vote it's you don't need his vote to be a speaker but she 1.00

00:04:08.600 doesn't have a vote and you need republican votes to make with democrats to be able to create a speaker

00:04:15.980 in that vein that is the kin to switching parties and we know there are a lot of moderate republicans

00:04:22.500 but voting for another speaker of a democrat party is is is a death knell in a primary it is an

00:04:30.160 immediate and it is a likely win how do we know because we just saw it with regard to adam kinzinger

00:04:35.520 and liz cheney herself so this is not real that doesn't mean there are the votes for for jim jordan

00:04:42.160 or andy biggs or even lee zeldon but what it means is that there is massive leverage and that this is not

00:04:48.680 a real threat and we know also from history this is something that was everyone kept talking about with

00:04:54.180 regard to john bainer it never materialized it can't materialize and it can't materialize on the

00:04:59.500 democrat side because they have their own issue with regard to if it's a if it's an actual republican

00:05:05.460 who switches they can't come over because they have their own primary issues the only way it could

00:05:10.660 potentially be an issue is with a republican that has effectively like bill crystal or liz cheney or adam

00:05:16.340 kinzinger become a democrat functionally and and is voting and like they are doing with the j6 to

00:05:24.300 govern that way those members are no longer in office there are no other members that have

00:05:29.680 crossed that rubicon it is not a real threat

00:05:32.820 i asked that of of mtg today because she's become one of the more serious and and tough players in the

00:05:41.380 hill was she taking the bait for something that's put out there by the mccarthy guys 1.00

00:05:46.260 that's not real to get to cut look the freedom caucus is what 45 50 people is it to take out 30

00:05:55.840 of the freedom caucus guys in concern about that led by mtg where you would have 20 or 30 people

00:06:01.380 against this now you may be down to 10 even if you got 10 it's it's it's it's enough to drive this in a

00:06:08.440 different direction but you think that that was a complete misdirection play by the mccarthy forces

00:06:12.360 you know i think you know with regard to a lot of members and i don't want to speak on behalf of

00:06:17.940 of marjorie but the they had a they had a game plan going to the election they had kind of come to

00:06:25.080 ground with a speaker mccarthy and the election changed out of that and when you have a new

00:06:30.240 battlefield you make different play calls and you go out on result of of something you have new

00:06:36.260 opportunities and new potential and as a result you have to make different decisions and i think

00:06:41.720 people throughout the conference made a decision that i think is going to be right wrong or indifferent

00:06:48.160 from their perspective is going to be overridden by the house freedom caucus in the grassroots in

00:06:53.080 the war room posse by saying that this is the leverage that we have on the house floor it's going

00:06:57.880 to be realized and i think we're going to get real change but i think a lot of members

00:07:01.420 coming into this said okay with a big seat majority a red wave uh how can we get comfortable

00:07:07.700 with mccarthy and they all kind of thought and made their bed uh accordingly and we have a new

00:07:14.660 opportunity at the end after after being on the other side of the election and i've seen it i've seen

00:07:19.340 this leadership team from the inside kevin mccarthy was part of the leadership team that i was

00:07:25.180 that i got to see behind closed doors and i have not seen any evidence other than him being

00:07:30.780 okay to work with with president trump but i i want someone that is okay with the america first

00:07:36.840 agenda i want someone who's committed the america first agenda when donald trump is temporarily in

00:07:42.240 mar-a-lago that's what i want i don't want someone that is willing to you know play ball with with 0.94

00:07:48.580 president trump while he's in office i want someone who's actually committed to the issues and the

00:07:53.920 agenda and wakes up realizing how late the hour is for our country and seizes the moment with every

00:07:59.680 opportunity we have i think that's the opportunity that house republicans can have there's many many

00:08:04.840 different end games whether that's jim jordan or whether that's seizing control of the rules

00:08:09.660 committee in the house of representatives so the house freedom caucus actually owns all the process

00:08:14.760 control there there are many many end games here uh but i think it's important that we unpack what is

00:08:21.080 real and what is not real and liz cheney as a speaker is not a real threat 0.69

00:08:25.820 walk me through what would a speakership i'm not saying he's he's competitive right now but he's

00:08:32.520 alternative what would a speakership under andy biggs look like it would look like for the first time

00:08:40.260 the leadership team not being at war with the grassroots not being at war with this program and

00:08:47.400 the activists that it represents and talks to and channels and be and provides action plans for

00:08:53.620 you know i got asked over the weekend why does this never happen on the left uh you know and and

00:09:00.260 president trump used to always joke around why is it that the left why the democrats always stay

00:09:04.860 together and everyone was divided on our side it's because their leadership team is committed to the

00:09:11.380 objectives and the purposes of the democratic party and the left there is no daylight between the two

00:09:17.900 so there is always a question of how far they can get or not but that you never have to know that

00:09:23.200 you're getting played our leadership team is different our leadership team is all about playing the

00:09:28.620 grassroots they come up with shiny objects and they try to manage their activists away from the fight

00:09:35.160 away from the the signal they move towards noise in your words and so an andy big speaker a jim jordan

00:09:43.080 speakership even a lee zeldin speakership would look fundamentally different it would look like

00:09:49.380 real talk to real grassroots and saying this is the fight and getting as far as you possibly can

00:09:56.360 and knowing that it you don't have all the power in the world we're not asking for you to win

00:10:02.580 at every on every occasion we're asking you to fight on every occasion and to fight with all of

00:10:08.260 your might i think that's what you would see under andy biggs i got to get to the omnibus in the

00:10:15.080 death ceiling a second i want to leave time for that but the they're going to meet tomorrow on tuesday

00:10:20.040 do i guess the first vote for the leadership now why is that important and that'll take place it looks

00:10:24.860 like anyway because it just takes a majority of the conference i think uh and that is also in secret

00:10:30.200 that's a secret ballot i believe walk people through the process over the next couple weeks

00:10:35.460 we want to take it all the way to the speaker to the speaker's vote in january over the next couple

00:10:39.020 weeks what should people look for the real vote is in january that's the leverage point that's the

00:10:45.700 moment where you have to go to the house or the floor it's all in front of the cameras and say who

00:10:50.480 you're voting for and who you're not voting for tomorrow or wednesday is the cartel vote it's behind

00:10:57.120 closed doors think of it as a locker room it has a lot of the the atmospherics of a locker room

00:11:03.180 the team the rah-rah don't be against the team that's the nature of what the cartel is like and

00:11:09.880 it's going to be hard for house republicans house conservatives that are against kevin mccarthy

00:11:14.160 but what they need to know is none of it's real none of it's real all it is is an opportunity for

00:11:19.520 them to go in there and say i'm not for kevin mccarthy i'm not for andy biggs or some other person who

00:11:25.300 might be running that's what this is for so if there's any drama it is the extent to which the

00:11:31.440 no votes we have will have a sense of but we you know it's behind closed doors but it will be a shot

00:11:36.700 across the bow to the mccarthy votes that they have a growing problem i think a a fatal problem with

00:11:43.200 regard to his candidacy but again i think it's important for people to realize it is one part of

00:11:48.600 this and it is a part of a process that grows and builds to january where the real vote occurs

00:11:54.660 whether we're at 219 220 221 or a few votes more five six seven eight members of the house free

00:12:03.200 house freedom caucus if they're and looks under the leadership of biggs and gates if they dig in and

00:12:09.340 say anybody but mccarthy how do the mccarthy forces get around that because it's kind of a 0.78

00:12:14.300 you've got a you've got command by negation is what we call in the military how do how do they

00:12:18.920 really get around that steve i don't want to i don't want to to be too presumptive but that's why

00:12:25.840 they're panicking i mean they it we are very close to being in a situation where three or four members

00:12:32.360 themselves can uh dictate this and we're already at those numbers and then there are a lot of house

00:12:38.680 freedom caucus members in reserve that are fully committed to the mission they just haven't publicly

00:12:43.860 declared so you know we're in a very good place i would say that we are ahead of schedule in the

00:12:49.520 sense that in previous speaker battles you really had to build all through november december to get

00:12:57.440 to january where members were finally waking up to the cartel busting nature of what their 0.92

00:13:02.520 grassroots was demanding and we are ahead of schedule on this i got to turn to this um this lame duck

00:13:11.140 session because this is going to be horrific you've warned about this we've talked about this

00:13:14.240 now for six months but you have an omnibus bill that looks like it could be a trillion to three and a

00:13:19.080 half two trillion dollars totally unfunded over and above the transfer payments of social security

00:13:24.260 medicare and medicaid which would be about three and a half trillion dollars you could be looking at a

00:13:27.860 five five and a half trillion dollar omnibus bill that's not financed and in in the federal

00:13:34.400 reserve is making every argument they're they want to get out of this business the fiscal

00:13:38.940 domination of the legislative side as bloomberg calls it is coming to an end you saw that in

00:13:44.940 in england in addition nancy pelosi goes on tv yesterday i think it was on abc and there she's

00:13:51.360 going to a whole interview and she says the most important thing that she's got to accomplish

00:13:55.640 in the lame duck before she kind of turns things over is the debt ceiling they're interconnected 0.85

00:14:02.320 russ walk people through what should be the concerns people should have whether the pitfalls

00:14:07.780 and what the war room posse can do about it so they are interconnected but they the that's also

00:14:15.860 partly by design so you take a government shutdown situation where for the discretionary spending if it

00:14:23.580 expires you don't have money for for these agencies that is a different situation than a debt limit

00:14:29.540 where if you have money coming in you could still spend that money out it just you don't have enough

00:14:35.860 to spend for all of the commitments that the federal government has made but there's always

00:14:39.720 enough for principle and interest so what the the the cartel does is they merge the fight so hold it

00:14:46.160 so hold it so so so you're saying that in that case cash is coming in and the first in the cap table the

00:14:51.580 first things get paid are the interest in principle like in life you got to pay your bills first

00:14:56.020 particularly ones you owe to the bank or credit cards so when they say default on the debt you're saying

00:15:01.860 that's a lie that is that is an intentional merging of the words default they will say that interest

00:15:09.280 in principle is the same thing as nih funding for the wuhan institute i mean there is a difference

00:15:15.820 between what bills have to be paid for the full faith and credit and what don't or what don't have

00:15:22.100 to get done on time and they have intentionally uh over defined the word default so that's one part

00:15:28.860 so in the lame duck we have two uh trains that are going to be leaving the station one has to

00:15:36.880 and one doesn't have to one is the annual appropriations process and it's vital it is

00:15:42.700 absolutely vital that republicans in the senate do not give joe biden a full year appropriations bill

00:15:49.600 we will be out of the business of any kind of activism against the regime if that occurs so that's

00:15:56.300 one part of the fight but you and i know because we've been texting about it for the last several

00:16:01.420 weeks they're also trying to do a debt limit increase and they're going to try to use a

00:16:05.760 reconciliation now that one would require if they don't similar to the approach that would require

00:16:11.360 um if they don't have that procedure they would have to get 60 votes but they're trying to use this

00:16:17.360 special procedure to be able to avoid the filibuster and then it comes down to joe mansion

00:16:22.360 um and i think they've got you know i think that'll be hard for them to get joe mansion but not

00:16:27.220 impossible uh as we've seen this last year um so those two things are are vital now i think they

00:16:33.800 will the real fight will be on appropriations uh but i think they will try to get a debt limit

00:16:39.080 because they know historically we have leveraged that for fiscal reforms and we will be in a much

00:16:44.380 better place to do that next year so they're again they're trying to merve these issues together

00:16:49.300 so that uh it's hard for them to uh so that they have as much opportunity as possible to just clear

00:16:56.240 the decks that's the other word that they say they don't want any leverage points the cartel never

00:17:00.800 wants leverage points before the floor of this house or senate where the cameras are where there

00:17:06.120 are actual votes they want everything done behind closed doors and they want everything kind of kind

00:17:12.000 of bums rush uh so that they have two years you hear them say this we want to get this through to the

00:17:17.540 next election why do they want that they want that so they don't actually have to come before the

00:17:22.340 american people for two years russ uh we want to have you back on a marble work with your team to do 0.89

00:17:29.480 this because so much to go through with this the politics of it and also the economics and capital

00:17:34.700 markets impact of it how to where do where do people go to find out all the great work you're doing

00:17:38.920 and to find out more about the details of what you guys are proposing yeah we are at at russ vote on all

00:17:45.040 the channels and we are updating those in real time and they can get us at the website at america

00:17:50.440 renewing.com in just a few short weeks we will have an america first budget that shows how to balance

00:17:56.640 in 10 preserve all of the important things that we actually care about as conservatives as nationalists

00:18:02.700 and then goes to war with the woke and weaponized regime bureaucracy that congress is trying to fund at

00:18:08.700 the end of this year russ vote honored to have you on here a main player right now thank you very much

00:18:15.440 thanks the intensity of this is only going to increase we've had matt gates on obviously a close

00:18:21.600 friend of the show and uh a brilliant strategist and uh member of congress can we play the clip i want to

00:18:27.540 play the clip from earlier today in the charlie kirk show and then bring congressman gates in no no no

00:18:32.360 what i'm saying though is that if it came down to supporting someone like kevin or in the mold of kevin

00:18:36.940 you know is there any that were to happen charlie that would solely be by kevin's hand because once

00:18:42.740 five republicans stand up and say we're never voting for kevin then if kevin chooses to persist

00:18:48.620 it would be him putting our majority who would those five who would those five people be

00:18:53.760 well i i think that they would be the people that reliably adhere to the promises that they make to

00:19:00.220 their voters i'm not here to like out or dox anybody i'll let people make their own announcements

00:19:04.380 in their own time i'm making my announcement which is that i'm not voting for kevin mccarthy i'm not

00:19:09.000 voting for him tomorrow i'm not voting for him on the floor and i am certain that there is a critical

00:19:15.380 mass of people who hold my precise view and so the sooner we can sort of dispense with the notion that

00:19:20.760 kevin's going to be speaker then we can get to the important work of actually looking at who are the

00:19:25.160 people that brian fitzpatrick and matt gates can agree on okay we're bringing in matt gates and i

00:19:32.380 couldn't hold himself he had to break it on the charlie kirk show but we love charlie kirk it's

00:19:35.860 got a big audience uh we have a bigger audience but i'm just saying no congressman gates your closest

00:19:42.140 ally in fact she said today that you were her closest friend in congress and her closest ally

00:19:47.380 came on the show today and made a fairly compelling case of why your other firebrand wingman is actually

00:19:54.980 for kevin mccarthy that would be marjorie taylor green key walker can you compare and contrast her

00:19:59.840 thinking to what you're thinking we know andy biggs has announced that he looks like he's announced

00:20:04.880 he's running for the speakership also can you walk us compare and contrast you and congressman gates

00:20:10.280 well marjorie taylor green is my friend and she will continue to be my friend long after this

00:20:16.260 leadership issue is resolved but we see this very differently right now we are in a process of

00:20:22.800 elimination paradigm because as the math is working out any five people five america first congress

00:20:30.540 members five more moderate republicans can get together and functionally veto any one person as

00:20:37.120 leader so within the republican conference we are going to have to have a coalition governance

00:20:43.020 not by virtue of my choice or anyone else's but by virtue of how these elections are getting sorted

00:20:49.420 out and we're taking losses in california where we should have won and frankly we got wins in new

00:20:56.280 york state that no one ever believed would happen and what i while i i deeply care about marjorie taylor

00:21:02.680 green i see what a warrior and a fighter she is in the movement my concern is that we cannot trust kevin

00:21:08.220 mccarthy this is the same kevin mccarthy who said that i was a danger to others because i verbally

00:21:14.720 criticized liz cheney this is the same kevin mccarthy who spent tens of millions of dollars in primaries

00:21:21.780 against america first candidates and then when people like caroline levitt and joe kent prevailed in

00:21:27.800 their primaries they were in a worse shape to go and face the general election because kevin mccarthy

00:21:32.840 had spent so much money against them in the primary i mean i look at yvette harrell in uh in new mexico 0.87

00:21:38.740 who's only going to lose by a small handful of votes and what if instead of attacking republicans

00:21:44.600 and supporters of president trump we put those tens of millions of dollars behind her candidacy

00:21:49.820 so i think there were strategic decisions that were wrong i think those strategic decisions

00:21:53.800 illuminate a lack of trust and whatever kevin has promised marjorie taylor green i guarantee you this

00:22:00.900 at the first opportunity he will zap her faster than you could say jewish space laser 1.00

00:22:06.160 and i wish that wasn't the case but it is the conduct and it is the pattern and practice of

00:22:12.800 kevin mccarthy over years that that showcase this and there's going to be a vote tomorrow and kevin's

00:22:18.460 going to overwhelmingly win that vote but there are going to be dozens of republicans who do not vote for

00:22:25.060 kevin mccarthy tomorrow now kevin has had years to earn their vote he's had years to earn it and maybe he

00:22:32.140 earned marjorie taylor greens but the fact that there are dozens of people as of tomorrow who

00:22:37.600 aren't ready to vote for kevin mccarthy you have to somehow believe that magically between tomorrow

00:22:44.100 and january 3rd he's going to make up the ground that he hasn't made up with every tool he's already

00:22:49.900 had as leader during the election cycle and he did all he could to get rid of the america first people

00:22:54.760 but there are enough of us around where we would rather deal with someone who might be a little

00:23:00.340 more moderate than our way of thinking if we have someone who is honest with us and who has agency

00:23:06.020 and will work with us to unlock the potential of all of the members i want to make sure people

00:23:13.520 understand i want to go back a little bit of history this is not something that just kind of

00:23:16.500 came up over the last couple days even from last tuesday you were on this show and correct me if

00:23:21.120 wrong i think it was actually in august and you walked through a scenario that say hey look if

00:23:25.280 it's anywhere between you know five and eight total pickups you know over or not just pickups over the

00:23:31.500 218 uh kevin mccarthy's not going to be speaker uh and what everything you said kind of became true

00:23:39.500 how did you know back then what was what was the indication to you that the strategy he had for

00:23:46.100 actually building a a a bigger majority you know going after caroline levitt going after anna polina

00:23:53.080 luna going after harold going after uh joe kent and others how did you know at the time because i tell

00:23:58.860 people hey think of what you think of gates this is a called shot and they're in the situation now that

00:24:04.140 everything he said was going to come to pass is come to pass matt gates well i see how kevin mccarthy

00:24:10.220 treats people and i see how he treats the institution like it is not a bug of the system

00:24:15.980 that we never get time to review legislation that a small group of people control the decision making

00:24:21.520 in washington it is a feature of that system and it is a system that kevin mccarthy has fully embraced

00:24:27.900 the best defense people give of kevin is that he is the lebron james of special interest fundraising

00:24:33.860 and i will give him that there has never been anyone better at raising like 500 million dollars

00:24:40.380 to go deploy around the country the problem is when you don't have the value set to undergird that

00:24:45.740 and when you don't have the tactical ability to make decisions that grows the majority to at least

00:24:50.820 meet expectations then ultimately you're not the person to be the speaker of the house we need a fresh

00:24:56.520 start we need a new person we need to turn the page on the leadership that has underperformed

00:25:02.020 expectations and that have let us down and i don't care if they raise a billion dollars i don't care

00:25:07.220 if they go wash the car of every lobbyist in washington dc i want to make sure that we have

00:25:11.880 people who are honest with the membership and look i've been fielding calls from people who are not

00:25:16.920 freedom caucus who are not far right but who feel they've been lied to and let down and i think the

00:25:23.700 call for a change to kevin mccarthy will be very evident in the number of people who still can't vote

00:25:30.080 for him that's what the mccarthy like loyalists can't really explain to me when like you know 1.00

00:25:35.200 20 30 people don't vote for him tomorrow what's going to get people to vote for him

00:25:39.680 by january when they weren't willing to vote for him now and the only vote that matters is in january

00:25:46.280 everything up to that is you know ranges between preliminary and perfunctory on january 3rd we elect

00:25:52.420 the speaker and if you got 218 votes you get to be the speaker of the house kevin mccarthy does not

00:25:57.180 have 218 votes today and he won't have it on january 3rd

00:26:00.860 matt can you just hang on for one second i just want to hold you through the break because i want

00:26:06.460 to ask you what the what what you would want this to look like on the other side if you and your

00:26:12.640 colleagues prevail we're going to take a short commercial break we're going to be back as we

00:26:16.560 said there are multiple things going on right now elections have not been finished you saw in the

00:26:20.700 previous hour uh arizona also these house races particularly in california they're stretching them out

00:26:25.760 we're going to have tina deskovitz on following congressman matt gates to talk about massive 1.00

00:26:30.080 victories for the parental rights movement for all the school boards and we're going to have matt

00:26:33.840 gates in here to explain exactly what his objective is exactly what is he looking for what does he hope

00:26:39.020 to accomplish and what will the new congress look like short commercial break congressman matt gates

00:29:56.860 warroom battleground with stephen k bannon

00:30:01.520 okay welcome back congressman mad gates there's an open revolt uh in the republican uh conference in

00:30:10.860 the house of representatives looks like right now they're going to get the two 18 19 20 21 who knows

00:30:16.060 we're going to go through that in excruciating detail tomorrow morning congressman gates what what

00:30:20.840 what is your objective you've said now for months this is not something you just thought up you said

00:30:24.960 for months that this must happen and it will happen it's a cold shot but i think people that

00:30:30.540 they're still uncertain about what is your objective what do you want the conference to do

00:30:35.340 what do you want the speaker to do what what is the new uh house of representatives uh going to do

00:30:40.580 against uh or with for or against the biden regime sir new leadership is the tactic but it is not

00:30:47.980 an end done to itself frankly i think we need new leadership in the senate where my fellow floridian

00:30:53.820 marco rubio is pushing to delay any election that would benefit mitch mcconnell i think we need new

00:30:59.320 leadership at the republican national committee and certainly we need new leadership in the house

00:31:04.200 what does that unlock for us this is something the war room posse might not want to hear but because of

00:31:10.640 the bad decisions of kevin mccarthy because of the foolish tactics on the campaign trail because of

00:31:16.580 the commitment to america which was like something that frank luntz wrote on the back of a bar napkin

00:31:21.400 more than it was a bold agenda because of all those things we underperformed expectations and

00:31:26.880 that lack of performance is going to mean that you're not going to get everything you want out

00:31:31.680 of this republican majority and neither am i and i'm very disappointed by that but we have to maximize

00:31:37.140 our opportunity to make gains where we can and we have to understand the features of leverage

00:31:42.820 we are going to be the ballast against admitting puerto rico as the 51st state or expanding the supreme

00:31:50.640 court or just a new flash flood of government entitlement spending to pay people not to work

00:31:57.000 in our economy and in our country they'll want to do everything they can to gas or green light a bunch

00:32:02.980 of illegal aliens towards citizenship and we'll have to block that so in a way the incoming speaker has 0.99

00:32:08.940 to be the defensive coordinator for the american people on a lot of those fronts where can we play

00:32:13.960 offense the investigations and what i know from kevin mccarthy is that the truth's not in him when it

00:32:19.980 comes to these investigations look do you really believe is there a single american who really

00:32:26.140 believes that kevin mccarthy is going to be aggressive on investigations when it was his idea to

00:32:32.120 get president trump to accept a censure after january 6th this guy's had tougher talk for president

00:32:37.440 trump after january 6th than he's had for the national security apparatus that that potentially

00:32:42.560 was increasing the criminal acuity of the day so when the chips are down you really see whether or not

00:32:48.880 people have the instinct of fight or flight and my objective is to have a republican conference that

00:32:56.560 is willing to fight not run away not concede not give up ground and so to do that we cannot have

00:33:03.760 someone who lies to us we cannot have someone who is going to dole out these subpoenas ever so slowly

00:33:09.200 refuse to enforce them slow walk the inquiries that absolutely need to happen that in a just world would

00:33:15.980 result in the impeachment of ali mayorkas but and and others as well by the way that just is would be

00:33:22.020 my lead off hitter but when it comes to our leash to be able to do what we have to do here's what you

00:33:29.280 gotta know just like chuck schumer couldn't go much further than where joe manchin was willing to take

00:33:34.820 him we might not be able in the house republican majority to go much further than where don bacon

00:33:40.960 and brian fitzpatrick and dave joyce and other members of our moderate caucus are willing to go

00:33:46.960 so rather than play a bunch of games and lie to the american people and tell them we're going to do a

00:33:52.200 bunch of stuff that we aren't really going to do which is the embodiment of the mccarthy strategy

00:33:56.340 i say let's sit down let's build that coalition government let's bring in the moderate republicans

00:34:02.620 the america first republicans freedom caucus members representatives from some of the larger

00:34:07.260 states that constitute our majority and let's go build the operational strategy that gets this

00:34:13.220 economy back on track seals the border and ensures that we unleash american energy and while doing that

00:34:19.100 the very investigations we would pursue would showcase how the corrupt decisions of the biden

00:34:24.500 administration are harming the american people we could all get on board with that but it is going

00:34:29.920 to be the slow boat to china with kevin mccarthy it is going to be the paul ryan trey gowdy playbook

00:34:38.100 that he was very willing to run plays out of during his entire time in leadership and which he will

00:34:43.380 not deviate from today he'll tell you today that he's going to do those things but i'm telling you when

00:34:48.080 the chips are down it's not going to happen and the reason i know i'm going to be successful

00:34:51.700 in ensuring we get a different option than kevin mccarthy is because i have like way more than

00:34:56.940 double the votes i need to ensure that he is not speaker because we have such a slim majority as a

00:35:03.540 result of his own choices it's sort of poetic as a matter of fact that these people put the handcuffs

00:35:08.420 on themselves by spending all this money attacking america first candidates squandering the resources

00:35:14.500 that people had given us to preserve the majority and then making it harder for our republican nominees

00:35:19.980 to come together and battle the democrats battling the democrats that's what we have to do and we have

00:35:25.540 to build a strategy that is an inclusive strategy maybe even with people who aren't matt gates flavored

00:35:31.300 republicans i'm willing to acknowledge that that has to happen i'm willing to acknowledge that the

00:35:36.420 viewpoints of people from states that don't look like florida from districts that don't look like mine

00:35:41.680 are going to be just as dispositive on this process as my own views but what i can say for certain

00:35:47.140 is that kevin mccarthy is not going to be speaker of the house

00:35:49.880 um what's so powerful about this is that you know in the fog of war right it's critical to kind of

00:35:59.340 keep your eye right on it you've had your eye right on it the entire time you've been the one guy that's

00:36:03.760 been right before i let you guys want to pull the camera back for a second politics is the art of the

00:36:08.200 practical the possible and you just walked through i think a master class in that but for matt gates when

00:36:13.480 you look at where the country is in in a perfect world what are the one or two things you think

00:36:19.040 has to happen in the next year uh on capitol hill sir this government has been weaponized against the

00:36:28.380 people of our country we have seen it in school board meetings we have seen it in the unity of

00:36:33.600 purpose between big government and big media and big tech we've seen it in the deprivations of our

00:36:38.860 liberties so the number one thing is that we have to stop our own government from the inward turning

00:36:45.040 of these exquisite authorities against our fellow americans and it really is like the social credit

00:36:50.900 score that they're trying to create for all of us in the financial sector in the political sector

00:36:55.920 sector and in the social sector so i think that is number one and the other thing you know taxes can

00:37:01.780 rise and fall regulations can be implemented and repealed but what is happening on our border right now

00:37:07.560 in a lot of ways is unidirectional and linear like you let four million people into this country illegally 1.00

00:37:15.040 and then they start having kids who somehow get treated just as if they're as american as you and i

00:37:21.280 and then they start pulling on the chain of chain migration you start to change this country in ways

00:37:25.920 where even a new government a new focused administration would have a very hard time turning back some of

00:37:33.140 those tides so i would say let's get our government focused on our enemies not our citizens and then

00:37:38.220 let's ensure that this border is secure if we could focus on that i really think our economic conditions

00:37:43.560 would improve our political conditions would improve and we would be able to have the wins in 2024

00:37:49.800 that we deserved and should have had in 2022 bad strategy bad tactics led us to this moment and you know

00:37:56.840 what in most areas of life if you screw up and underperform you don't get promoted like only in politics

00:38:04.300 only in the corrupt swamp of washington dc can you totally blow it and still even be in line for a promotion

00:38:11.420 i think that a lot almost all these people in leadership should be swept out turn the page fresh start new focus

00:38:17.760 protect our fellow americans secure the border right the ship with the economy and get back to campaigning for a republican in 2024

00:38:25.840 uh congressman gates how can people follow you on social media because over the next people should

00:38:32.480 follow you anyway but the next 72 hours specifically how do people follow you i've got a podcast called

00:38:37.860 firebrand where i give regular updates regarding leadership races and other policy matters before

00:38:43.180 the congress folks can follow me at matt gates m-a-t-t-g-a-e-t-z or at rep matt gates on just about all platforms

00:38:50.780 congressman gates thank you very much honored to have you here

00:38:55.000 thank you good to be back with the honey badger let's go get them

00:38:58.560 yes sir that was a master class uh congressman gates brought up a very important topic about

00:39:06.980 weaponizing the united states government against its citizens one of the biggest topics of this

00:39:11.800 started in 2021 and really the spring was about parents and about the justice department under

00:39:17.820 merit garland considering parents going to the school board meetings whether it's for

00:39:21.440 mass mandates vaccines crt uh gender ideology any of it uh to be domestic terrorists i want to bring 0.62

00:39:28.760 it but uh groups came together moms for liberty is a key one tina deskovitz joins us right now tina 1.00

00:39:34.880 i've been wanting to get you and tiffany on for last week you guys really put your shoulder to the wheel

00:39:40.200 in these incredibly important school board meetings i think at the time there was you had 275

00:39:45.840 i think 280 potential people running you had endorsed or had backed can you get us up to date on just

00:39:52.160 across the country what was the mood with the parental rights movement have a good night last tuesday and

00:39:58.000 where do you guys stand so we had a really great night uh tuesday we've already started compiling for

00:40:05.220 the year as you know school board races are uh year round you know and they're in new york in may

00:40:10.720 and april they're in wisconsin and so uh we are constantly working on on endorsing candidates and

00:40:17.300 following what's going on so our total number for 2022 um has surpassed 500 endorsements or supporting

00:40:25.940 in the races and so we're starting to tally those um and there's they seem to be coming in at the same

00:40:30.560 ratios they came in with the 270 on november the 8th so uh around the country in general we have won

00:40:36.680 over 50 of those races we still have about 37 of them out california apparently takes two weeks to

00:40:42.980 count their ballots in these small school board races which is remarkable um then we've got some

00:40:47.840 others in maryland and different places that are still counting uh but we're really we're really happy

00:40:52.100 with with how it's turned out and what's more remarkable is in florida which is the only place

00:40:57.680 we had any dollars to put uh behind some of these races so we have a little pack here in florida

00:41:03.000 we had fifty thousand dollars that one donor gave us and we were able to put some money behind our

00:41:07.660 65 candidates and we had an 80 percent uh win rate in florida so one thing we've learned out of this

00:41:14.020 election cycle for us uh this year is that when we have even just a little bit of money to put with

00:41:19.840 our mom's enthusiasm on the ground we're able to really see make a significant impact

00:41:24.100 so here's the question by the way california we now we know this from the house races the four in

00:41:31.520 california they're gonna they've told the associated press for the for the congressional districts it's

00:41:37.620 going to take another two or three weeks why why is that in california are you and how many of your

00:41:41.880 seats are i'm not saying in jeopardy but how many are essentially getting slow walked well we're looking

00:41:47.700 at about i think we've got 30 to 35 seats in california that we are waiting to hear from two of our chapter

00:41:53.220 chairs are actually running uh out of the southern end in san luis obispo area uh they are ahead right now

00:41:59.420 with the count but uh we you know we don't know how it's going to turn out they told us to sit tight

00:42:03.460 it's going to be another couple weeks before we know which is it's just remarkable you know i'm here

00:42:07.200 in florida and we knew within an hour the whole state so so tina where do we stand with the printer

00:42:14.000 rights movement now that you've gone through the first cycle the first cycle of um of elections all

00:42:19.860 the way from last spring new york is you know texas florida to a midterm election you've had some

00:42:25.920 tremendous wins i mean you guys have kind of stood this thing up in the last couple years but where

00:42:30.160 do you think the overall movement stands right now i think the momentum is on our side if you watch what

00:42:35.580 happened here in florida on tuesday and what happened with governor de santis and all of our moms behind

00:42:40.600 him and our school board races and when a governor or someone with such authority that's uh popular gets

00:42:46.380 behind some of these candidates and helps push them over the finish line we can really start taking

00:42:51.020 back the education system here in america so tell us how you're going to go forward what is mom

00:42:58.160 celebrity going to do i know you you went from a standing start how many chapters you're in right now

00:43:02.440 so we launched january 1st 2021 which you know with just two of us tiffany and i we are now in uh 42

00:43:09.620 states 250 chapters 110 000 members or so we are working to grow i mean as you know the teachers union

00:43:17.120 has had a stronghold in education for decades they are in all 13 000 school districts so all 3 000

00:43:23.500 counties and then they have local affiliates in every single school district so and that's every

00:43:27.860 single school board race we have a long way to go we're having great success but we have a long long

00:43:32.560 way to go 250 chapters uh we need to be in all 3 000 counties so um you know again great success but

00:43:40.140 the roadmap is to is to rival the unions because they are controlling education with the radical agenda

00:43:45.800 uh that if you know even just this morning i think uh nea put out a tweet that said teachers

00:43:51.580 you know know and love students the best and and know what or know and love the children the best and

00:43:57.300 they know what they need and parents are like are you listening at all you know are you guys paying

00:44:01.440 attention at all because uh this fight is long from over for 3 000 was it 3 000 uh uh counties and 13 000

00:44:12.860 uh school boards um and your objective i just want to make sure you understand your objective is to

00:44:18.980 basically have a a uh a moms for liberty or a parents rights group in every school board service 13 000

00:44:26.580 you want to represent in all 13 000 that basically the plan yeah so we're structured by county so our

00:44:32.600 goal is to have 3 000 chapters one for each county and then each county has district leaders that oversee

00:44:38.480 each school district so in florida each county is its own school district so you only need one

00:44:44.080 chapter chair no district leads but in some like suffolk or nasa new york sometimes you have up to 30

00:44:49.160 school districts and that's just a lot for one volunteer mom to manage so she oversees the county 1.00

00:44:54.060 and then she gets 30 volunteers to oversee each school district their ultimate goal is to have a

00:44:58.820 moms for liberty member uh at every single school board meeting from now till the end of time

00:45:03.560 overseeing what's going on in public education in their community last question were your new members

00:45:11.760 are they going to be welcome with open arms at the school boards or is this still going to be as

00:45:16.520 contentious is 23 going to be as contentious as 21 and 22 are we still see those videos of parents

00:45:23.280 being shut down are we still going to be seeing videos of the total lack of respect that these school

00:45:28.600 boards and administrators and union members uh treat parents yeah i don't think they're learning

00:45:35.200 their lesson at all they're still pushing back i think you know some school boards will be better

00:45:39.240 where we've gotten uh people elected and taken a majority we did flip a number of school boards

00:45:43.940 we're very excited about even in some very liberal areas charleston south carolina uh i think we won

00:45:49.560 five seats uh berkeley south carolina six seats took over those boards in charleston it was um

00:45:56.340 i think there's a nine person board and it was eight liberal leaning one conservative and now

00:46:02.320 it's it's a majority conservative so you know boards like that those those newly elected school

00:46:08.040 board members are going to listen to parents and i think you're going to see a much more open dialogue

00:46:12.000 and you're going to see those school districts thrive but there's a lot of work to be done and a

00:46:16.320 lot of districts you're still going to see mics cut off you're still going to see parents upset i mean

00:46:20.560 just look at the national landscape they've learned nothing uh you know when they look at the

00:46:25.060 national elections they're emboldened because we didn't have this big red conservative wave 0.96

00:46:30.120 on a national level and so they're just still going to push their garbage on our children and 0.95

00:46:34.680 they're not slowing down

00:46:35.700 a lot of the papers including the wall street journal said that this parental rights movement

00:46:42.960 may be the most important cultural political movement that's come up in 30 or 40 years do you

00:46:48.340 agree with that 100 i agree with that and i'm just so honored to be in a leadership role with

00:46:54.500 all of these moms and parents on the ground that are fighting helping guide and direct them in any 0.78

00:46:59.680 way i can one of my haters last night tagged me on twitter with an old video from 2014 before i was

00:47:15.740 speaking for parental rights then and i will continue to fight for parental rights they've been under

00:47:20.580 attack for a long time but people are just starting to wake up to that um i'm just really excited with
