Bannon's War Room - WarRoom Battleground EP 390： McCarthy's Pivot For Speaker; Intelligence Failures Of IDF

00:00:00.000 this is what you're fighting for i mean every day you're out there what they're doing is blowing

00:00:13.320 people off if you continue to look the other way and shut up then the oppressors the

00:00:20.300 authoritarians get total control and total power because this is just like in arizona this is just

00:00:26.220 like in georgia it's another element that backs them into a quarter and shows their lies and

00:00:30.960 misrepresentations is why this audience is going to have to get engaged as we've told you this is

00:00:35.240 the fight all this nonsense all this spin they can't handle the truth war room battleground here's

00:00:42.300 your host stephen k bannon monday 9 october year of our lord 2023 it's uh columbus day and quite a

00:00:50.780 columbus day it's been a um you know as we've told you a long time ago the beginning of the third

00:00:56.560 world war is upon us and and now it's not just on the eurasian land masses spread now into the middle

00:01:02.740 east a day of a really uh intense uh bombing and beginning of ground operations in israel i want

00:01:09.020 to bring in uh ben hornwell from rome ben thank you very much you've been following it as you

00:01:14.060 always have as our international editor give me your um your the the the crowned heads of europe

00:01:21.880 the the european governments where do they stand right now you know they've always been almost more

00:01:26.560 pro-palestinian than pro-israel where's all that breaking out right now uh with these governments about

00:01:33.660 what's happening because the the initial assault was barbaric but the hit back is uh is not been

00:01:41.660 exactly a day at the beach i mean they're coming in hard they bombed earlier today uh they bombed

00:01:47.360 gaza like strategic bombing was done in dresden your thoughts sir well starting off on the european

00:01:53.640 capitals you know there has been a certain you know we have large islamic populations here across

00:01:59.240 all of the the eu countries so there is a rather you know let's say more nuanced position with regards

00:02:05.920 to to israel in the middle east than in the united states which is almost really the political

00:02:10.760 class 100 pro-israel um but it is still pro-israel uh overwhelmingly in the european union and with

00:02:19.100 that said even though like the left the left wing party specifically tend to attack a lot more uh closely

00:02:25.340 and more sympathetically uh with with the plo i would say however and they have you know most of the

00:02:33.280 european capitals have been bounced into supporting israel probably even more full-throatedly than they

00:02:39.520 would otherwise have wished because on on on on twitter x and other social media platform platforms

00:02:47.800 what have you we're seeing you know in european capitals groups of presumably muslim affiliated youths

00:02:56.560 um dancing in the streets and celebrating um waving the palestinian flag um and that has sort of

00:03:03.980 bounced respective european governments into coming down quite harshly and being even more pro-israel

00:03:11.140 in their response but i have to say it has been pretty pro-israel right from the beginning right

00:03:16.420 from that saturday morning onwards

00:03:17.960 are they you think there's going to be any intimidation at all do you expect i mean they're

00:03:24.240 always worried about these sleeper cell assaults are are the european governments worried about there

00:03:30.580 could be this could expand particularly as israel hits back i mean the use of dancing up and down

00:03:35.420 because uh hamas took them by surprise but this hit back and and bb notified uh netanyahu notified

00:03:43.940 biden a ground campaign is going to start in the next 48 hours uh do you anticipate you're going to

00:03:49.680 have uh you anticipate there could be um uh activity in these no-go zones in these capitals i mean france is

00:03:56.200 a disaster uh holland's a disaster belgium i mean it's it's uh these these places are infested 1.00

00:04:03.040 with uh with um radical muslim jihad i i personally would absolutely be very very um attentive to the

00:04:14.180 possibility that there will be reactions from sleeper cells here with it within continental europe

00:04:19.760 and let's not forget that in terms of bb's conversation yesterday with president uh biden

00:04:25.720 about the ground offensive biden asked him about um about the hostages situations and whether the

00:04:33.160 ground offensive um will be affected regarding that dynamic and bb was you know she was basically 1.00

00:04:39.580 we are going in because we have no choice um so whether they turn the whole of the gaza strip

00:04:46.220 into a car park um i i'm not sure but if they're willing basically to to go in and it's not they're

00:04:55.080 not they're not going to go in to pay uh to play a patty cake this is serious um and if they if that

00:05:01.340 if the instance and consideration of hostages is now secondary uh we can have an idea of uh now i don't

00:05:07.960 i use the word hesitancy cautiously when i say now let's say i was going to say brutal it's going to

00:05:12.720 be a brutal response i'll go ahead with that word it's going to be brutal uh and that will i think

00:05:17.340 um i'm not saying it's disproportionate according to the um to to the hammers attacks but it will be

00:05:23.700 a it's going to it's going to be an unambiguous response steve that i think will almost certainly

00:05:29.300 um uh increase the the anger from the uh from the cells that you were mentioning as i say i mean

00:05:38.340 these clips are widely spread on um i've got something in fact you know i never mentioned

00:05:44.040 my twitter feed because i very very very very rarely post on it i did post something on my own

00:05:49.440 uh twitter feed uh of of youths celebrating this is they're going to be tipping over from celebration

00:05:56.320 into aggression how that manifests itself um we'll have to wait and see but there's definitely

00:06:01.900 going to be something else for sure um talking about bbc in the media i mean right now they're

00:06:10.420 playing it because the initial assault was so brutal and so savage against uh youth but how long

00:06:15.780 does it take for bbc because correct me if wrong hasn't bbc been one of the biggest pro uh palestinian

00:06:22.440 uh and really playing patty cake with terrorist uh news organizations yes the bbc and of the british

00:06:29.800 labour party as well especially under jeremy corbyn and then you have george galloway um who's a

00:06:35.480 long-standing scottish uh member of parliament for the labour party now somewhat of a far-left media

00:06:43.300 celebrity and these people like this have been jeremy corbyn um i just mentioned the former leader

00:06:49.860 now expelled from the labour party by kiss you do have these uh these uh points lightning rods if you

00:06:57.980 will for um who've been very very explicit in their support of of the palestinian course and the bbc has

00:07:05.900 naturally been um it's probably been its editorial policy i would say 45 40 in favor of israel and the

00:07:14.680 rest in favor of the plo um over recent decades but that said right now as we're speaking the um the

00:07:23.220 response hasn't you know it's full on it's you know it's like look and what did nikki hayley come 0.57

00:07:30.380 out and say uh yesterday uh yesterday look i'm going to quote this because it's an indication she

00:07:35.060 said this is not just an attack on israel it's an attack on america um the bbc in in a certain respect

00:07:43.840 certain sense certain respects along with the rest of the british mainstream media is very much still

00:07:49.480 at the moment for um for israel when of course steve the ground offensive starts in the gaza strip

00:07:56.620 and the photos start coming in um as we saw sort of some some photos yesterday footage of of the

00:08:03.240 palestinians rescuing um or trying to pull out bodies from under the rubble when these things start

00:08:09.440 to sort of increase in number perhaps there'll be a change of position but right now it is totally i

00:08:14.920 i think in um in uh israel's favor let me play i want to play jeremy bash we did part of this in

00:08:22.320 the morning show i want to play this for the audience remember this audience kevin mccarthy

00:08:26.300 uh is running uh is going to run and be put in nomination to run for the speaker he's using

00:08:32.460 israel has his wedge back into this uh you should understand what the apparatus in town has in store

00:08:39.980 and what they're i love jeremy jeremy bash is a former chief of staff over the central intelligence

00:08:46.360 agency he is a uh a regular on msnbc alex witt is interviewing him even she's in shock i want to 0.83

00:08:55.840 play this in its entirety ben because what he's talking about is uh what dan crenshaw's masturbatory

00:09:02.840 fantasy has been uh a kind of a war to end all wars this is where it starts getting apocalyptic

00:09:08.060 uh book of revelations come and see types of thing let's go ahead and hear bash and i'll uh bring

00:09:13.480 you in are you reading anything between the lines and secretary blinken's response there

00:09:18.300 well he acknowledged that we were all caught off guard i think by definition this is an intelligence

00:09:24.520 failure but it's actually more than that it's also a border security failure and i think the

00:09:29.680 question alex at this hour is where will israel go next i mean certainly they will battle palestinian

00:09:36.600 terrorists that have infiltrated the country they'll stage hospital rescue operations and then we can

00:09:41.940 expect a comprehensive thorough degradation and destruction of hamas's war making capabilities 0.96

00:09:48.620 inside gaza i think the question is will the violence spread to the west bank uh and more

00:09:55.060 fundamentally will israel launch military attacks and by the way i think they would be absolutely

00:10:00.920 justified in doing so against other iranian proxies around the region because after all hamas's main

00:10:08.760 patron is iran which does not want to see greater integration greater peace between israel and the arab states

00:10:15.480 so on that front hezbollah given the uh military might of hezbollah how delicately does israel have to

00:10:27.280 approach something like that if they choose to engage them engage them forcefully zero delicateness if

00:10:34.700 you will i think they're going to deal with hezbollah with a very tough uh iron fist um hezbollah is a 0.89

00:10:41.740 terrorist military that has about 200 000 medium and long-range ballistic missiles aimed directly at

00:10:49.900 israel israel is a pretty small country you know nine million people about the size of rhode island

00:10:55.340 one main populated center around tel aviv israel israeli officials refer to the country as a

00:11:01.000 country of just a hundred targets if a terrorist military with ballistic missiles can fire a hundred

00:11:07.480 targets strategically at the center part point of israel it's going to be a very difficult day for

00:11:14.140 israelis and they know that the israeli civil defense authorities have the civilian population well

00:11:19.780 trained to scurry into bomb shelters the united states has helped field the iron dome anti-rocket 0.68

00:11:24.140 artillery and mortar batteries to support israel's defense so israel may have to go on the offensive

00:11:29.300 across the northern border not only into lebanon but also into syria to take out hezbollah and other 1.00

00:11:34.960 iranian proxy positions and i wouldn't be surprised alex if israel also undertook operations as far as the

00:11:41.160 persian gulf to take out iranian naval assets and even their air assets because if iran is behind this

00:11:48.440 attack in israel as i said would be completely justified in launching such operations we in the

00:11:54.120 united states would do precisely that got to tell you jeremy what you are laying out as possible it is

00:12:01.960 an all-out middle east war is this scenario something that you can see playing out in the near future 1.00

00:12:10.600 i can i mean i think israel's calculus is going to be uh their israel is on the path to some very

00:12:19.200 significant diplomatic uh breakthroughs here with the saudis and if they can get assurances from the

00:12:24.940 united states and the saudis and the emiratis and other gulf countries that you know israel is going to

00:12:31.080 be able to make peace and have normalization uh and and that's going to continue and that these military

00:12:37.060 operations are not going to affect that then i think israel is going to go very far in conducting

00:12:41.960 those military operations you know if the military if hamas succeeds and they in some ways thwart the

00:12:48.100 diplomatic efforts then it's going to have to be sequenced israel is going to first have to deal 0.63

00:12:52.240 with the terrorists first have to deal with iran first have to deal with the threats to its

00:12:56.300 citizenry and its borders and then pursue peace and normalization uh in sequence but you know this is

00:13:03.880 going to be israel's uh plate of call and i think the united states is going to stand four square

00:13:08.980 behind israel which is what you've heard so far from the president from the secretary of state and

00:13:14.160 every other senior biden administration official and by the way this is bipartisan you see it on

00:13:18.300 capitol hill as well there's bipartisan support for israel at this hour as there should be

00:13:22.780 there's there there's there's bipartisan support but i don't know if there's bipartisan support for a

00:13:31.780 that is a massive all-out middle east war that would suck the whole world into it ben hornwell

00:13:38.000 your thoughts and observations on this sir well you know you you finished before going to that clip

00:13:45.020 you just you were mentioning about armageddon right that's that's reference and revelation that

00:13:49.500 that's mentioned in in revelation 16 16 but if you want to know where that is folks it's just

00:13:54.400 off the northern tip of um of the west bank um mount mount megiddo um i you know personally i'm just

00:14:02.200 keeping one eye on that corner of the world right now um because of the various dynamics that's taking

00:14:07.700 place you know my guy was probably correct when he mentions that iran was probably the the sponsor

00:14:14.580 behind hamas worth mentioning that both anthony blinken and the idf have both come out uh in the last

00:14:22.140 24 hours and say they're they're not aware their intelligences aren't um their respective

00:14:26.600 intelligences aren't aware of any um of any links to iran at this stage however you know that would

00:14:33.880 probably be my money um in terms simply because iran that's desperate to to to to be the regional

00:14:42.080 hegemon that cannot allow um the the normalization process that was due to take place uh between saudi

00:14:50.380 arabia and israel john kirby came out 10 days ago saying that the basic framework for this was in

00:14:55.740 place it would have also actually been quite an uptick i think running into the for the biden

00:15:00.580 administration generally running into november of next year that's presumably steve i don't know

00:15:06.280 what what your thoughts on this are but that's presumably now blown out of the water for the time

00:15:10.880 being but you do have this dynamic that um saudi arabia is of course run by uh the the saudi war

00:15:19.560 family which is sunny uh hamas is is sunny um afghanistan is sunny um iran is shia uh so it has

00:15:29.800 um it has to to maintain its status to augment its status in the mid east it has a very double game

00:15:37.680 that it has to play to use hamas to um is is the principal um as the principal vehicle for blowing up 0.72

00:15:45.840 the the prospective peace in the middle east remove saudi arabia from the united states orbit to the

00:15:52.700 extent that it is in the united states orbit and then sort of try um and dominate itself because of

00:16:00.080 course iran is a huge country population wise the other countries at least are far smaller

00:16:05.900 um so there is that there is that wider game but right now um i don't think uh that the the link

00:16:12.360 between hamas and iran on this has has been exposed but it's almost certainly that you said something

00:16:18.220 steve i really do want to to come in on this um having spoken like to said those things earlier on

00:16:24.900 in the morning show you cited the fact that that israel had said that this was um the pearl harbor and

00:16:32.140 9 11 thrown um joined together that's very curious you know and you and you mentioned that you sort of

00:16:38.420 read um basically all of the documents on both those instances that's a pretty uh cryptic i think

00:16:46.140 metaphor for for israel to make given that there's a large number of people frank that that suggest

00:16:52.720 roosevelt um over the heads of his office of the navy obviously um but had maneuvered the pacific fleet

00:17:00.060 um around um around its base of pearl harbor to provoke um japan into firing um as it were the first shot

00:17:10.200 to then enter the second world war um and of course that you know i don't need to go on right now

00:17:16.820 but i'm sure the the the war in posse will be very versant and fluent with with the various theories

00:17:23.300 regarding um 9 11. i would just like to suggest that um if it was israel's long-term ambition

00:17:31.900 to go in and flatten the gaza slip give you know giving them the opportunity to to launch this attack 1.00

00:17:39.240 um and then you know on on the out you know as i mentioned the nikki hayley quote which is broadly i

00:17:45.080 think uh in a single sentence representative of the the whole global mainstream media opinion right

00:17:54.180 now it has given israel a very um a comfortable position pr wise to go in with a free hand and do

00:18:02.500 what it wants in the gaza strip i would only note in closing on this point steve that the world had

00:18:08.400 been obsessed the last 18 months had been absolutely obsessed with you ukraine who's

00:18:15.180 talking about ukraine in the last uh 48 hours that's another dynamic that we're going to need

00:18:20.300 to cover now because i think the situation there will change very quickly yeah i want i want to

00:18:26.940 cover ukraine here in a second but do we have the brennan i want brennan's not ready yet okay fine let

00:18:32.320 me know when that off the end let me know when that's ready yeah i tell you what let's play brennan

00:18:38.020 right now i want your response to this former cia director john brennan uh you've worked in national

00:18:44.140 security you've worked in the field you've worked in the region um how did israel's vaunted intelligence

00:18:50.420 network and military and the u.s not see this coming well that's a good question andrea and i think there

00:18:57.200 were a lot of failures that led up to this clearly the israelis didn't have the either human or

00:19:03.240 technical sources that gave them insight into this it also i think is increasingly apparent now

00:19:07.320 that they misread a lot of the signals that were coming out of gaza in terms of activities that the

00:19:12.840 hamas members were engaged in also i think they misread hamas's intentions i think they were relying

00:19:18.940 heavily on the work visas that they were giving to the gazan workers and believing that the money

00:19:23.620 going into gaza was going to appease a palestinian ire over their their situation in gaza so i think there

00:19:31.060 were just a lot of misreading and a lot of missteps and miscalculations that went into this and i know

00:19:36.760 the israelis are going to be doing a post-mortem but also i think fundamentally i think habibi

00:19:41.340 netanyahu and a lot of israeli politicians believe that by establishing relations with arab states

00:19:47.360 such as bahrain and the emirates sudan morocco and potentially saudi arabia that that was going to

00:19:53.840 reduce or eliminate the risk that they face uh over the course of you know many many decades but uh

00:20:00.340 none of these steps really have addressed the palestinian concerns and so i think it just uh

00:20:06.580 increased the militancy uh of hamas uh in engaging in these horrific uh unconscionable acts of violence

00:20:14.660 against uh the israelis um but it's unfortunately i think it's been a brewing for many many years but i

00:20:21.060 think the the tactical uh missteps over the past several months in terms of not seeing that this

00:20:26.860 was going to happen such a large multi-dimensional multi-pronged attack uh this clearly was a failure

00:20:33.940 of epic proportions well clearly the hamas uh it has talking brennan he's always lecturing you

00:20:44.460 about the intel they're a disgrace i can't imagine the cia the nsa massad and idf intelligence

00:20:53.940 israeli defense force intelligence miss this just don't believe it sorry i don't it was too it's too

00:21:01.720 look this was a massive military strike over a vast geographic area given the space it was air

00:21:09.420 it was land it was sea they had planning logistics finance training recruitment all of it and and

00:21:19.640 and nobody's talking about the fact they had embeds they actually had palestinian journalists i mean

00:21:23.820 they were they were jumping up and down from the very beginning and blowing out on social media to

00:21:28.420 europe and other places throughout the middle east and sub-saharan africa or in north africa so there

00:21:33.820 was massive celebration like in 9 11 this was this was highly coordinated ben uh ben harnwell thoughts

00:21:40.880 steve i couldn't put it any better myself um i don't believe that mossad um and the cia uh that this

00:21:50.640 took them by surprise i don't believe it i posted perhaps it was edgy but i posted on getup late last

00:21:57.140 night um a collection of all the european capitals um no not and including the united states um

00:22:03.160 that came out it was the very statements that came out on saturday morning um saturday morning

00:22:10.400 who's in the office which which civil servants which press spokesmen which ministers are in the office

00:22:14.900 on a saturday morning within hours steve within hours of this in um these attacks this invasion

00:22:22.500 they'd all produced um almost an identically worded with identical phraseology statement and that's

00:22:29.640 on my getter feed if if folks want to um want to um want to um want to track that down um so i don't

00:22:35.520 believe it uh i just put that out there i don't believe it they knew this they let it happen and

00:22:40.900 that that that is i haven't seen anything um that will yet that will make my change make me change my

00:22:47.600 mind what what brennan was saying just now steve um obviously it's the cia line to take um i know

00:22:56.860 that though because i have an article here right in front of me that i was looking at this morning

00:23:01.080 on on reuters headline i don't think i sent it through right excuse me i don't think i i sent

00:23:07.580 it through but the headline is how hammers duped israel as it planned devastating attack um and that's

00:23:15.260 um that's basically word for word what brennan was just saying so this is obviously a cia line that

00:23:21.140 they sent out to client and compliant media which is obviously only too happy to pick that up and

00:23:27.900 you know this article here that i that i mentioned and they talk uh here that um that the you know that

00:23:34.480 hamas had actually constructed a mock israeli settlement in gaza where they practiced a military

00:23:40.780 landing and trained to storm it um and they had videos of these maneuvers and then there's a quote

00:23:47.920 they're saying israel surely saw them but they were convinced that hammers wasn't keen on getting

00:23:54.400 into a confrontation which is sort of the ridiculous things that brennan was saying you know steve as you 0.98

00:24:00.120 would say as you do say when they push out this kind of thing that's how dumb they think we are 0.84

00:24:04.880 um no they knew the israeli the israelis knew that this was taking place that was hence my uh my earlier

00:24:12.240 comments about um pearl harbor they knew this was taking place and they let it happen um because

00:24:18.100 fundamentally it will be advantageous for what israel hopes to achieve

00:24:22.280 uh walk me through uh ukraine uh particularly now here in the united states there's zero chance

00:24:29.400 there's gonna be a firestorm about giving another penny over there and we hear that biden

00:24:33.060 is trying to work out a program for a hundred billion dollars 24 billion coming in the first package

00:24:38.180 and they're going to try to wrap it now instead of border security that's been forgotten

00:24:41.340 they're going to try to wrap it with a new package for israel

00:24:44.100 yeah um zelensky came out with a statement saying that um that uh in on the need for for nato to

00:24:53.880 maintain unity so this is not the time to withdraw from the international arena into uh internal disputes

00:25:00.020 uh this is not a time to isolate ourselves um no one's no one's listening now um really the the

00:25:07.240 the the this is the consequence of the of the um of the global mainstream media

00:25:14.920 um having an inability to to to walk and chew gum at the same time it's simply one issue

00:25:21.100 one issue and one issue alone that they're going to hammer hammer in on and they you know zelensky had

00:25:27.160 his time in in the sun uh 18 months really it it's now he he's um he's not getting it and you know

00:25:35.200 how close i follow the international news i think we've had a reduction in about about 90 percent of

00:25:41.420 stories on ukraine in the last 48 hours um no uh there's going to be no money i don't think from

00:25:49.420 the united states i'm fairly sure there's going to be no money now from the united states going to

00:25:53.320 ukraine the fight on you know a particular statement you know she's she's agitating for

00:26:02.440 the united states to act and react as it it itself had been um attacked by hammer so i think that's

00:26:08.860 where the political class is going to be it's not where mago is right no no no no mag mag mag mag is

00:26:17.060 fighting this mag mag is trying to be the sensitivity how they get to uh how they get to your social media

00:32:02.520 well right now mr speaker congress is paralyzed because of course eight republicans joined with

00:32:13.080 every democrat to evict you from the speaker's chair uh last week the republicans meet tomorrow

00:32:19.360 if there is a deadlock and i fear there might be would you be willing to stand up and become the speaker

00:32:25.580 again look the conference has to make that decision i'm still a member i'm going to continue to

00:32:31.700 to fight it act i know what it means to have a strong america and a strong relationship with

00:32:36.580 israel every from every term i've been in i have led all the freshmen to israel my first trip as

00:32:45.280 speaker was to israel to speak at the knesset at the 75th anniversary of the creation of israel

00:32:51.120 we need to not part in any way and show no weakness here and we've got to understand that this is not

00:33:00.700 an interaction like they've had before this is something that hasn't happened in 50 years

00:33:05.700 we have to understand as americans and i've got to give you a lot of credit because you have always

00:33:10.280 talked about foreign policy but even on your tweets what this means to america what happened in israel

00:33:17.540 when there are 700 israelis going to 800 who were murdered that is equivalent of almost 30 000

00:33:26.000 of americans if you take the size and america has to understand what's going on this is not a time

00:33:32.880 for what's happening in our our colleges this is a time for strength this is a time to stand together

00:33:38.600 this is a time for assistance um and this is a time for congress to speak as one voice not just i want

00:33:45.440 to come back and press you a little bit wrong yeah mr let me let me go back mr speaker because

00:33:50.860 i do fear a deadlock because i know that there are uh hundreds of kevin it was eight republicans

00:33:58.240 brought you down i don't know if they can change their mind but i don't think we're going to get

00:34:02.660 to uh a speaker other than kevin mccarthy this week and we can't not have a speaker right now

00:34:09.100 would you be willing to go back if those eight retreated look whatever the conference wants i will

00:34:16.040 do i think we need to be strong i think we need to be united uh the eight uh in my view don't look

00:34:24.620 to be that it was a personal thing it wasn't about where we were going think for one moment if you take

00:34:31.580 some of their comments of why they did this because i kept the government open could you imagine

00:34:37.440 they're the ones that stopped appropriation bills from going forward they're the ones who voted against

00:34:43.560 the continuing resolution that secured our border and cut spending they're the ones who wanted a

00:34:48.760 government shutdown we wouldn't be paying our troops while we're putting out a a carrier strike fighter

00:34:55.320 there are 30 000 americans this is they're trying to use they're trying to use what did he say right

00:35:02.460 there about the southern border that's the priority he's trying to use the israel situation

00:35:07.080 the attack uh on um on uh innocent israelis by an arm and this was a military operation this was not

00:35:16.100 terrorism coordinated by and funded by the persians um

00:35:22.560 this was a deadly strike and he's trying to he's trying to leverage this to get himself back in

00:35:28.400 make sure you're at the ramparts of this is he mentioned the southern border as he mentioned the

00:35:34.000 crisis in financing the government those are the existential threats the attack on israel is not

00:35:42.440 an existential threat to the united states of america we need to protect israel we need to stand with

00:35:48.480 israel and what we need to do right now is to make sure that uh the persians and hezbollah and all

00:35:54.400 their proxies are not escalating this that's what we need to do now and all they're doing is this a rush

00:36:02.220 to a major and massive middle east war remember president trump said today earlier in the speech

00:36:07.580 about the uh the reinsertion of the travel ban because this is the problem we got we've had an

00:36:14.300 invasion on the united states of america we've had an invasion on the united states of america president

00:36:21.320 trump's trying to take it from the from the international we have to be why would we allow now

00:36:27.140 what biden has done uh going soft on on uh on uh terrorism and that didn't include the southern

00:36:35.500 the southern border we have been invaded full stop and we need to get on top of this i gotta tell you

00:36:42.180 this this could not be more dire it could not be um a situation that could be worse for us

00:36:49.440 and note you see right there did he mention one thing on the southern border

00:36:53.240 this is he's trying to leverage himself back in on this uh on the uh the israeli situation and it

00:37:00.800 has to be shut down he's already announced he's running he's gonna put himself in he's gonna get

00:37:04.520 himself put in nomination so this has to be shut down you got to tell your representatives under no

00:37:11.120 circumstances kevin mccarthy there can be no return to the cartel government and to use this

00:37:17.260 the situation in israel and he's sitting there bragging i've been to israel 12 times how many

00:37:22.260 times you've been in the southern border bro i know you went down at least twice for optics for photo

00:37:27.080 ops you never lifted a finger you did not lift it and don't give me the oh hr2 hr2 hr2 hr2 what did

00:37:34.000 you do about impeaching me because what'd you do about shutting down cutting off money what'd you do

00:37:38.540 about moving down and actually having making the capital making congress actually the house

00:37:43.040 representatives actually meet down in mccallan texas what did you actually do to stop it here's

00:37:47.960 what you did nothing because the moneyed interest don't want it to stop

00:37:52.880 okay uh massive news out of 60 minutes last night the millie thing i will get to uh later i'm gonna

00:38:02.160 have to do that tomorrow let's go ahead i got joe allen because they dropped another bomb a massive bomb

00:38:08.120 on um on 60 minutes last night i want to make sure you're not missing this on artificial intelligence

00:38:12.620 because as important as everything's going in the middle east in ukraine you you must uh hear what's

00:38:19.640 being said by the creators for artificial intelligence let's do that and then bring in joe at 75

00:38:25.260 hinton recently retired after what he calls 10 happy years at google some of his research led to chatbots

00:38:33.800 like google's bard chatbots are said to be language models that just predict the next most likely word

00:38:41.540 based on probability you'll hear people saying things like they're just doing autocomplete they're

00:38:46.900 just trying to predict the next word and they're just using statistics well it's true they're just

00:38:53.420 trying to predict the next word but if you think about it to predict the next word you have to

00:38:58.880 understand the sentences so the idea they're just predicting the next word so they're not intelligent

00:39:05.140 it's crazy you have to be really intelligent to predict the next word really accurately the risks

00:39:10.880 are what well the risks are having a whole class of people who are unemployed and not valued much

00:39:19.580 because what they what they used to do is now done by machines other immediate risks he worries about

00:39:26.380 include fake news unintended bias in employment and policing and autonomous battlefield robots

00:39:36.540 what is a path forward that ensures safety i don't know i can't see a path that guarantees safety

00:39:46.200 that we're entering a period of great uncertainty where we're dealing with things we've never dealt with

00:39:52.320 before and normally the first time you deal with something totally novel you get it wrong and we

00:39:57.980 can't afford to get it wrong with these things can't afford to get it wrong why well because they might

00:40:02.980 take over take over from humanity yes that's a possibility why would they not say it will happen

00:40:08.840 if we could stop them ever wanting to that would be great but it's not clear we can stop them ever

00:40:14.780 wanting to but he says now is the moment to run experiments to understand ai for governments to

00:40:23.060 impose regulations and for a world treaty to ban the use of military robots it may be we look back and

00:40:31.880 see this as a kind of turning point when humanity had to make the decision about whether to develop these

00:40:36.900 things further and what to do to protect themselves if they did um i don't know i think my main message is

00:40:45.140 there's enormous uncertainty about what's going to happen next

00:40:48.540 these things do understand and because they understand we need to think hard about what's going to happen next

00:40:56.880 and we just don't know um that just tell us joe who this person is because that is probably the most

00:41:08.140 disturbing thing even with the elon moss this is the most disturbing thing this is one of the fathers

00:41:11.840 of artificial intelligence and he and this is not 10 years in the future he said this is in the next two

00:41:17.720 years next 24 months that this could that that could be the inflection point and all we know is that

00:41:23.880 this is accelerating at an accelerating rate and particularly given what's happening in taiwan

00:41:29.820 in ukraine now in israel in the middle east um to think about everything that ai gets involved in

00:41:38.260 uh we could literally be hurtling towards uh armageddon sir

00:41:43.500 steve that's certainly how they're talking about it in some of the top labs uh in and around silicon

00:41:50.200 valley in seattle that of course was jeffrey hinton uh so-called godfather of ai mainly for his work on

00:41:57.780 neural networks and uh since the uh panic of earlier this year about ai he's come out and and tried to

00:42:08.280 inform the public about what he believes to be the biggest dangers of ai as you heard there human 0.96

00:42:13.620 displacement is a major part of it uh the ideas coming out of these top labs that includes everyone

00:42:20.180 from google's deep mind to uh open ai in association with microsoft to anthropic now in

00:42:27.540 association with amazon and inflection ai all of these guys talk about human displacement as an

00:42:34.440 inevitability of what they're working on they all as they are creating these these artificial

00:42:40.640 intelligences or trying to create artificial general intelligence uh they believe that they will

00:42:47.100 displace human beings not only in uh day-to-day tasks but just in pattern recognition in knowledge

00:42:53.080 making in decision making and so you have hinton coming out on the alarmist side of it he's trying

00:42:59.800 to sound the alarm saying that this is going to have a profoundly negative effect on humanity uh he's one

00:43:06.400 of the few the rest even if they admit to the potential for negative effects they all believe it's fairly

00:43:12.580 inevitable that the good side uh will win out and even if it doesn't they don't even seem to care

00:43:17.980 so when you look at something right now like the war in ukraine or the emerging conflict in the middle

00:43:25.300 east you might wonder why is ai not making all of these superior decisions on the battlefield why don't

00:43:31.960 you see more and more autonomous drones deployed uh that is actually a really good question which

00:43:37.720 there are many answers and my own sense of it uh is that they just simply are not at the level

00:43:44.240 that you could rely on them to make the primary decisions in battle but the intention 100 is that

00:43:52.120 they will and i and i really do think that the outside of economic uses such as predicting stock

00:43:58.640 markets or integrating large language models into education and into even psychotherapy outside of

00:44:05.780 these sorts of day-to-day things the real testing ground for whether or not artificial intelligence

00:44:10.500 lives up to both its promises and its threats are going to be on the battlefield especially in places

00:44:16.640 like israel who are really at the forefront of military artificial intelligence just behind the u.s

00:44:22.920 and of course at the forefront of the manufacturing and designing of drones and they have many programs

00:44:29.360 which could easily turn into the dreaded fully autonomous lethal weapons that guys like hinton and

00:44:36.560 others are talking about

00:44:37.720 go back to this uh when he talks about this he talks about they could take over uh if we don't play

00:44:46.720 this right he says this could happen in the next couple of years talk to me because we've always said

00:44:51.300 hey it could be 10 years away could be six or seven years away he's pulling this up into the foreground

00:44:57.000 yes i the the predictions that are really really aggressive such as hinton's or elon musk's or even

00:45:05.300 greg brockman now out of open ai uh maybe maybe not but i think that what they they are pointing to

00:45:12.500 the most extreme circumstance in which ai has somehow managed to take control of an ever more pervasive

00:45:19.700 digital infrastructure a digital system that we all live in i think that the most immediate threat

00:45:25.460 though the one that really needs to be confronted is the threat that ai will be taking over at the

00:45:31.160 lower levels at the levels that are most going to affect people like us on the ground normal people

00:45:36.860 not ai taking over all of the united states or ai taking over all of europe but ai taking over your

00:45:44.740 job or your child's mind i think those are the sorts of things that are most immediate and are already

00:45:51.640 happening as we've reported extensively bill gates is working to integrate ai into educational systems

00:45:58.420 for one-on-one tutoring uh you have guys like ilia satskabar out of open ai who believes and elon musk

00:46:05.780 agrees that ai will be used for superior one-on-one counseling psychological therapy uh in other words

00:46:14.180 in my perspective brand washing i think that that coupled with ai used uh and for the purposes of

00:46:21.640 propaganda for the purposes of deep fakes and also for the purposes of analyzing the effects

00:46:27.780 of propaganda and deep fakes on the population those immediate threats already see the displacement

00:46:34.600 of human beings and more and more so as musk would put it the ratio of intelligence on the planet 1.00

00:46:40.520 being weighted towards the machines rather than humans i don't think that these guys are going to

00:46:46.580 create a machine intentionally that takes over their jobs but i do believe that they will they

00:46:51.720 are in the process of creating machines that will take over our jobs maybe the most important job we

00:46:57.320 have which is to understand the world and make proper decisions based on that understanding

00:47:02.680 um joe how'd they get all this in the in the new book your book dark aeon uh you were down with tim tim

00:47:12.120 pulling the team down in miami this weekend you're giving speeches all over i want to make sure it's

00:47:16.400 up on the site of where people can get you yeah steve i tell you what watching these headlines unfold in

00:47:23.420 the last three months in the wake of uh the book's completion has been really strange because all of

00:47:29.240 these developments in the technology and to some extent on the geopolitical uh realm that they're

00:47:35.380 discussed in the books i try to lay out the the frameworks to understand where these technologies are

00:47:41.280 going not only in day-to-day life but also in warfare so dark eon you can find it anywhere books

00:47:47.820 are sold uh you can find amazon barnes and noble at the publisher skyhorsepublishing.com and you can

00:47:54.380 also find it at canonic xyz which we'll get into another time look into it uh and you can find my

00:48:01.140 social media at joe bot xyz and of course my website joe bot dot xyz

00:48:06.420 joe fantastic i look forward to having you back on later in the week thank you very much steve

00:48:14.400 so mccarthy's coming in he's going to run for speaker they're going to try to have a restoration

00:48:20.900 here uh we need everybody on that uh bobby kennedy announced that he's going to run as an independent

00:48:26.640 in the uh for president he's dropping out of the democratic i think primary he's going to run as

00:48:31.260 independent president trump gives an amazing speech in new hampshire president trump wants

00:48:36.500 the immediate restoration of the travel ban remember the one we've worked on the white house 0.93

00:48:41.420 in the first couple of weeks that was held up by the supreme court as being constitutional

00:48:46.820 we have the right to protect ourselves the border people should be focused on is the southern border

00:48:53.400 of the united states of america there's been a massive invasion going on there the uh the democratic

00:48:58.100 party and joe biden initiated it exacerbated it uh and now we have i don't know between six and ten

00:49:05.340 million illegal alien invaders here in the country and they're all over the country we have no earthy 1.00

00:49:11.380 idea where they are this is the inspector general of the united states telling us this and uh we know

00:49:16.460 that there are literally thousands if not tens of thousands of active terrorists uh in that and

00:49:22.360 todd bensman is the one that's done the amazing reporting he wrote the book on this at the beginning

00:49:26.360 so uh look at the footage of what you're seeing coming out of uh what you're seeing coming out of
