Bannon's War Room - WarRoom Battleground EP 572： The Squad's Attacks Against SCOTUS

00:00:00.000 this is what you're fighting for I mean every day you're out there what they're doing is blowing

00:00:11.260 people off if you continue to look the other way and shut up then the oppressors the authoritarians

00:00:19.020 get total control and total power because this is just like in Arizona this is just like in

00:00:24.480 Georgia it's another element that backs them into a quarter and shows their lies and 0.99

00:00:28.920 misrepresentations is why this audience is going to have to get engaged as we've told you this is the

00:00:33.360 fight all this nonsense all this spin they can't handle the truth war room battleground here's your

00:00:40.380 host Stephen K Bannon good afternoon Harnwell here at the helm Thursday 11th of July and

00:00:50.260 nor dorm in 2024 sitting in for Steve Bannon who is currently in one of Joe Biden's federal prison

00:01:00.520 prisons keeping him from adding his unique insights to the Donald Trump campaign we're going to start

00:01:12.240 today with EJ Antony because the Biden regime is presently winning a victory lap over the latest

00:01:20.280 consumer price index figures June 2023 to 24 are down to 3.0 percent EJ good afternoon to you

00:01:32.020 good afternoon thank you for having me it's good statistics for the Biden regime but they're not

00:01:38.200 sort of being felt by most Americans is that right right you know unfortunately the problems that we

00:01:46.140 have had going on in the consumer price index the CPI for quite some time now they continue to to rear

00:01:52.520 their ugly head and I can give just a very couple a couple very good examples of that one of which is

00:01:57.420 health insurance according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the cost of health insurance has actually 0.95

00:02:03.340 dropped by over four percent over the last year now anyone who has who has bought health insurance

00:02:08.160 knows that that is absolute nonsense costs are going up not down but that's helping to drag down

00:02:14.580 the index and then you can also look at the the cost to own a home today the the monthly mortgage payment

00:02:21.740 on a median price home so we're not talking a mansion here just a median price home that is up about

00:02:27.320 117 percent since Biden took office so June of 2024 compared to January of 2021 now if you look at the

00:02:37.860 Bureau of Labor Statistics what they use is just rents and they try to figure out from that the cost of

00:02:44.200 home ownership and somehow that cost is only up about 22 percent over that same time period in other

00:02:51.020 words they're off by about a factor of four or five here I mean this is just absolute nonsense

00:02:56.460 and so because they're not actually measuring the true cost of living increase they are grossly

00:03:03.580 undercounting inflation and the numbers that we're getting today I think are evidence of that so while

00:03:09.700 the Bureau of Labor Statistics the BLS tries to tell you that prices are only up three percent over the last

00:03:15.240 year and that prices actually fell slightly from May of this year to June of this year the average American

00:03:22.140 knows better that they can see when they look at their monthly bills for example that their costs

00:03:27.900 are exploding food is more expensive than it has ever been before rent is higher today than it ever has

00:03:34.620 been before your electric bill your gas bill you name it the list goes on and on this is why people feel

00:03:42.580 poorer today it's because they demonstrably are um so basically it's the BLS pushing out BS um how do you think

00:03:52.340 ordinary working Americans are gonna feel well are they gonna feel gaslighted to some extent you think when

00:03:59.380 these official statistics are coming out telling them that times have never been greater um as it were when really

00:04:06.580 they're struggling people folks are struggling to make it to the end of the month people are cutting back

00:04:11.620 on their vacation time this summer how are people actually going to handle um the anger at this um at

00:04:21.140 these messages do you think will it make the Biden administration seem even more out of touch from 0.99

00:04:26.580 for the concerns of ordinary Americans well as they said in the Clinton years it's the economy's stupid and 0.95

00:04:33.940 a lot of people i think are feeling that today in terms of their voting preferences you know 0.79

00:04:39.220 increasingly in political polling data as we go through those numbers we find people more and more

00:04:46.020 saying that they have had enough of Bidenomics what regardless of how they think about about social

00:04:52.420 issues you know even regardless of how they think about things like the border whatever the case may be

00:04:57.460 they increasingly are saying my paycheck doesn't go as far as it used to i can't make ends meet

00:05:03.540 anymore i have had to pick up multiple jobs i'm drowning in credit card debt etc that has become the

00:05:09.460 number one priority for a lot of Americans today whether they're on the political left or the

00:05:14.020 political right doesn't matter it doesn't matter if they're registered as a Republican or a Democrat 0.98

00:05:18.340 it is the economy stupid and and so that i think is really going to motivate a lot of people 0.97

00:05:23.620 this November and and again the polling data really bears that out and and people going back to your 1.00

00:05:29.540 gaslighting point people are sick and tired of being told don't believe your lying eyes don't

00:05:35.460 believe your empty wallets just let the regime tell you what's really happening i mean the only thing

00:05:40.500 orwell got wrong was the year for crying out loud you know this this really is big brother on steroids

00:05:47.700 they are trying to tell you that you are better off even though you can't pay your bills they're

00:05:52.020 trying to tell you you are better off even though you're having to work two or three jobs

00:05:56.180 instead of just one i mean we we aren't even adding full-time jobs anymore to the economy we have

00:06:01.540 lost about 1.8 or excuse me 1.6 million full-time jobs over the last year and we added 1.8 million

00:06:10.580 part-time ones the the economy is hemorrhaging full-time work right now and i think people

00:06:16.260 understand what's going on because they're living out this economic reality in their daily lives they

00:06:22.340 they don't need some talking head on tv to try to tell them what's really going on um e.j um we hit

00:06:31.940 on the morning show today um the distractions that the biden administration with a compliant mainstream

00:06:39.300 media are utilizing in order to distract ordinary americans from from the basically the pain the

00:06:48.660 economic pain of everyday life and funnily enough you know you're with the heritage foundation right

00:06:53.620 what the one of the two present distractions one of them was inaugurated today we're going to hit this

00:06:59.300 a little later on the show which is aoc's resolutions of impeachment against associate justices alito and

00:07:06.740 thomas the other distraction and the compliant media have been following this have very

00:07:12.260 uh very uh wittingly been allowing this new shiny thing hypnotically to transfix america is of course

00:07:21.620 the project 2025 right this is what the regime and the media are trying to do to say don't think about

00:07:30.820 the cost of living uh impossibility the pain you know because everyone remembers uh how good economic

00:07:38.180 times were under the last administration under the trump administration and until of course

00:07:42.500 covet everyone remembers that and what you know you as you said don't believe your lying eyes it's

00:07:47.620 basically don't believe your lying memories either and it's just distraction from people in these

00:07:52.980 months as we accelerate towards the november the fifth election the distractions to try to prevent americans

00:08:01.380 from from from thinking and contracting just how tough their their day-to-day life is let me ask you this

00:08:07.540 question if i may is there a difference geographically across the united states from state to state where

00:08:14.740 where the cost of living uh because obviously this is a national this is a national average right

00:08:19.780 it's june to june 2024 figure are there any states that are doing particularly well and states that are

00:08:26.100 doing particularly badly in in terms of the cost of living crisis well i think we should break out a

00:08:34.020 couple of different things here in terms of the cost of living crisis housing is a major component of

00:08:39.060 that and one of the things that we have seen is those areas that have had a disproportionate uh

00:08:44.500 influx of illegal aliens have seen the the cost of housing go up more than average and and the reason for 1.00

00:08:51.060 that is pretty simple you are putting more people into an area you are increasing demand for everything

00:08:56.500 including housing but you're not actually increasing the supply of housing at a commensurate rate and

00:09:02.500 so you see that a lot in border towns for example or border areas of the country but you also are

00:09:07.700 seeing it in places where uh states like texas are bussing migrants to now those different blue cities are

00:09:15.700 experiencing the same problem and and one other point on the blue cities is that if you look at

00:09:21.460 ej and new york state as well i guess yes yes exactly because that's one of the locations where

00:09:28.660 governor abbott for example has been bussing a lot of these migrants and so as you get that influx of

00:09:34.660 people again you are increasing the demand that all of those people need to survive necessities like

00:09:40.820 housing and as you increase demand for housing you're going to push up the price you don't you don't

00:09:46.020 need a phd in economics to tell you that increasing demand is going to drive prices higher and because

00:09:51.780 you're not actually increasing supply as you increase that demand sure enough that's what we've seen we've

00:09:57.620 seen higher prices in those areas so the rate of increase has outpaced the national average but i think

00:10:04.340 another really important thing to point out in this just in the economic disparities today between states

00:10:10.180 is how states have recovered since the pandemic and if you look at job growth for example the states

00:10:16.740 like florida like texas tennessee idaho nevada utah those states that open their economies they have

00:10:25.220 far exceeded the rest of the country in terms of job growth but places like california illinois

00:10:32.500 new york those states have seriously lagged behind and sure enough there's a strong disparity there

00:10:38.660 between uh liberal democrat policies and conservative policies

00:10:44.180 ej that's a magisterial analysis very very grateful um so much to break down here and look

00:10:50.980 forward to you coming back on the show then we can start and picking some of these figures in greater

00:10:55.860 detail how can um as a public finance economist at the heritage foundation how can folks keep

00:11:04.340 up to date with your analysis and commentary on day-to-day events best place to find me is going

00:11:11.940 to be over on x and the handle there is at real ej and tony ej thanks very much for coming on the show

00:11:19.780 today thank you for having me we're going to move now to jeff clark from the center for renewing america

00:11:26.740 to discuss what axios said a long called a long shot element of a broader legislative push

00:11:34.580 by house democrats to rein in the supreme court after a spate of decisions in june that incensed liberals

00:11:43.060 that's what this is is an attempt to get back at the supreme court so as you said in the previous

00:11:49.780 segment um the the democrats are trying to distract people's attention from for example the cost of

00:11:57.780 living crisis the fact that there there is a senile cadaver in chief that the media have been covering

00:12:05.940 up for ages two distractions principally i've noticed over the last uh 10 days there's the project 2025

00:12:14.180 which the media has been hitting non-stop and then aoc today uh came out uh with yesterday excuse me

00:12:21.780 came out with these resolutions of impeachment against associate justices thomas and elito um can you

00:12:31.060 sort of give an analysis for us an anatomy if you will of these resolutions what the process is how is it

00:12:38.980 similar to the impeachment resolutions the two impeachments we saw against donald trump what are

00:12:45.220 the statistics that the the arithmetic that the house and the senate will be looking for and do these

00:12:52.340 resolutions have any realistic chance of of passing and then i'm going to ask you and if i may at the end

00:13:00.820 of that what are the um what are the possibilities and the gop might start firing off resolutions of

00:13:07.380 impeachments um in a similar fashion so why don't you just start explaining sort of how this how these

00:13:15.060 resolutions of impeachment will unfold sure ben well great to be with you and uh you know obviously

00:13:22.820 we're missing steve bannon and we pray for him but uh and you know you and i have not met in person but

00:13:29.700 uh you know i'm glad to be here with you today to talk about these topics so we're basically talking

00:13:34.900 about two things on the one hand we have the resolution uh one for thomas one for alito that

00:13:41.380 aoc is leading and then on the other hand we have a letter from senators wyden and white house to the

00:13:49.380 justice department asking for merrick garland to appoint a special counsel to investigate justice thomas

00:13:56.500 so these are two of lawfare efforts and those lawfare efforts are going forward in in parallel

00:14:03.780 and the first thing to recognize about them is that look they're designed to increase costs for

00:14:09.460 the justices they have to get counsel to uh represent themselves to fend off these challenges

00:14:16.260 and uh you know it's designed to to make their lives difficult it's part of the general lawfare effort

00:14:22.420 it's completely illegitimate it's never been launched against supreme court justices before

00:14:27.300 we're obviously living in an age where as my colleague mark paoletta was uh explaining earlier

00:14:33.780 today on the war room program this is a situation in in which you know they realize that that they're

00:14:40.740 trying to intimidate the justices because they don't like the fact that the supreme court has switched

00:14:45.860 from a largely uh leftist entity i saw one leftist commentator saying and admitting that for decades they

00:14:52.820 had a hegemony over the supreme court and so they don't like the fact that uh the balance has shifted

00:14:58.740 against them and they're getting actual constitutional decisions and so they've decided that uh payback is

00:15:05.060 the best way to proceed and they're paying the justices back with the this uh complaint to try to get a

00:15:11.380 special counsel and with the uh these impeachment resolutions so you know to jump to your question about

00:15:18.740 uh what the likely prospect of the impeachment resolution is passing i mean i'd tell you it's a

00:15:24.900 big goose egg right there is zero chance that either of these resolutions against thomas or alito

00:15:33.140 you know two of our greatest justices are going to actually get a majority of votes in the house and then

00:15:39.700 through and then you know teeing up at a senate trial that's just not going to happen so i don't think

00:15:46.020 you need to do a lot of complicated vote analysis or uh you know any any kind of uh you know whipping

00:15:54.020 of of votes for this i think it's just never going to come up on the agenda it's a political uh uh

00:16:00.900 approach it's it's designed to you know uh inflict fear and pain on the justices that's what it's about

00:16:08.420 then um let me get this right this resolution needs to be dealt within this legislature right

00:16:16.660 yes anything dies if you go to uh you know another congress so uh this this is you know it's it's dead

00:16:24.260 on arrival it's a messaging thing right and look as well at who the other co-sponsors are ben it's

00:16:30.340 it's rashida tlaib it's ilhan omar it's you know lame duck jamal bowman jasmine crockett 0.88

00:16:36.980 barbara lee i mean it's a it's a who's who of the crazy leftists in the house

00:16:41.620 the usual suspects um right i actually don't have a i actually don't have like i've been as

00:16:47.700 i was saying on the monitor i've just come out a couple of months ago out of a five year long

00:16:52.580 um number of uh cases in a number of different courts but most most substantially a criminal case

00:16:59.540 that went on for four or five years i was totally acquitted this thing took all of my money all of my

00:17:04.180 time all of my emotional energy um i don't have that said right and it was a totally political

00:17:10.740 prosecution but i can understand where you know where the democrats are coming from i can understand

00:17:16.420 aoc where she's coming from she thinks donald trump is an existential threat to the republic 0.96

00:17:22.340 uh either she does or she doesn't and she's politically posturing my principal problem not is

00:17:27.780 it isn't with aoc and this resolution of impeachment my problem is why the gop doesn't do the same thing

00:17:34.740 back to the democrats that's my that's the thing that gets me here uh for example for example one of

00:17:42.980 and we mentioned this on the morning show earlier one of the the charges in this article of resolution

00:17:50.260 against clarence thomas is refusal to recuse from matters involving his spouse's financial

00:17:57.220 interest in cases before the court now there's either the suggestion there that clarence thomas

00:18:07.220 has allowed himself to be swayed or perhaps more fundamentally and clarence thomas has denied

00:18:15.540 this outright um but there is the the the perhaps more substantial argument um that is necessary at

00:18:23.380 all times to maintain the appearance right maintain the absolute appearances at all times of of of uh

00:18:32.340 propriety which is certainly binding on the lower courts right judge juan mershan right his daughter

00:18:43.060 was fundraising is a fundraiser fundraising of the for democrats on the back of the political prosecutions

00:18:51.460 against donald trump but i am not saying that judge mershan allowed himself to be swayed by that it's

00:18:58.500 possible he's a republican possible that his daughter had arrived at her anti-maga principles all by herself

00:19:06.820 that's possible but the importance of maintaining

00:19:11.060 the appearances of propriety should be just as binding on the lower courts as it is on on on

00:19:20.500 the supreme court and then in fact i don't think the supreme court is even bound by this by by the measures

00:19:26.260 on the lower courts where are aoc's resolutions of articles of of impeachment against judge mershan

00:19:35.060 sean if she hasn't tabled any on on this point why haven't the gop so ben first thing i would say is

00:19:44.660 that everyone needs to understand that judge mershan in manhattan is definitely a democrat and he had uh

00:19:52.340 he had he had donated to democrat causes before i i do think that uh you know his family overall is

00:19:59.540 getting very rich uh from the political operation that his daughter is is running and he should have

00:20:05.540 recused that's just one of the problems in that case the trump immunity case i think is really going

00:20:11.300 to make that prosecution very difficult to to continue and i completely agree with you that and and you know

00:20:19.620 my colleague mark earlier this morning uh he defended justice thomas and his separation from his wife

00:20:27.620 jenny thomas and her activities uh and he used the example of judge reinhardt who is the lion of the

00:20:35.060 left out on the ninth circuit when he was uh when he was there and his own wife's interest really

00:20:41.220 creating a much clearer case for recusal uh and that not going anywhere and then marty ginsburg who was

00:20:48.420 justice ginsburg's husband he was actually my tax professor uh and he uh uh you know was involved

00:20:56.340 through his law firm in cases that wound up before the supreme court the left said nothing about that

00:21:01.780 so there's a you know total uh double standard going on as you point out and look you know mark is

00:21:07.300 a one-man uh wrecking crew to defend justice thomas in particular let me say something about how totally

00:21:13.620 ridiculous the impeachment resolution is against justice alito he's accused of not recusing from three

00:21:21.140 cases trump v us that's the immunity case trump v anderson that's the 14th amendment uh section three

00:21:28.340 case of trying to keep trump off the ballot and then fisher v us which is the case about uh the january 6

00:21:34.820 defendants and whether they uh were faced with an interpretation of 18 usc 1512 c2 that was totally

00:21:43.620 off board and they wanted him to recuse from that and they say it was an impeachable offense for him not

00:21:50.340 to recuse from those cases because his wife flew uh an american flag upside down and because uh she

00:21:57.940 flew the appeal to heaven flag which historically goes back uh you know to the nation's founding excuse

00:22:04.100 me and that uh george washington had actually uh used uh you know during his day and they say this is

00:22:11.540 because those two flags are tied to the quote unquote insurrection you know that this is uh you know

00:22:18.180 poppycock the both of the flags have uh well obviously our main american flag has a long

00:22:24.420 historical providence flying it upside down if you think the country is in distress has a long

00:22:29.220 historical providence the appeal to heaven flag the same thing these are not they weren't flying uh

00:22:35.300 flags at the house that related to the quote-unquote insurrection which is dubious in and of itself i don't

00:22:41.460 think an insurrection actually occurred there's just an insurrection narrative from the mainstream media

00:22:46.260 this is the most ridiculous impeachment resolution i've ever seen i've never seen one written like

00:22:51.860 this i've never seen one this thin it's a publicity stunt ben and and really you know if anything the 0.96

00:22:58.900 house should censure uh the sponsors of this for having put this resolution forward i couldn't agree

00:23:06.100 more right and you know what i'm going to put these points to one of my all-time favorite congressmen who's

00:23:11.140 coming on the show in just a couple of moments congressman good um jeff clark thanks very much for

00:23:16.340 breaking this down for us this is obviously going to be a growing story let's have you back on the

00:23:20.660 show in the next few days to give us an update on on how this unrolls in the meantime how can folks

00:23:26.980 get hold of you at the center for renewing america thanks ben so i'm on x at jeff clark us and also on

00:23:36.100 getter at that handle and then on true social i'm real jeff clark and the center for renewing america

00:23:42.580 is america renewing.com and you can find uh both me and mark pale out of there jeff thanks very much

00:23:49.540 we'll catch up with you soon god bless thanks ben okay we're a couple of minutes away from the break

00:23:55.300 now but let's get congressman bob good on here i always wanted to see a resolution in the house of

00:24:00.180 representatives congressman changing your name to congressman bob fantastic because you really are

00:24:06.180 can you just before the break just give us a quick analysis what are people saying because we want to

00:24:10.580 talk about your own situation here in virginia virginia but what are people saying about aoc's

00:24:15.380 resolution right now um in the gop well i don't hear actually a lot about it except from the media

00:24:22.340 there's not a lot of talk on the house floor obviously it's not expected to go anywhere

00:24:26.340 i don't think it'll be brought up for a vote certainly on the house floor uh but uh she's 0.72

00:24:30.420 there's no basis for it you know the left as you know uh they they try to accomplish through the

00:24:34.660 judicial system through the legal system that which they cannot accomplish through the uh

00:24:39.220 legislative process they love the bureaucracy the unelected uh department agencies and and and uh

00:24:46.340 bureaucrats bureaucrats who aren't accountable the american people they try to make law through

00:24:50.260 executive action through rulemaking that sort of thing uh because the american people are not with

00:24:54.900 them through their representatives uh to make law and so that's why they try to go after the court

00:24:59.620 when they don't like what the court does they want to pack the court they want to remove members from

00:25:03.940 the court uh doing uh they think constitutionalism means doing what democrats want you to do

00:25:10.020 yeah as you said on the morning show today the democrats have this psychology that everyone

00:25:15.620 needs to do what they want when they're in power uh and everyone needs to do what they want when

00:25:20.820 they're out of power and it's a crying shame that not you but so many of your your gop colleagues

00:25:27.460 seem willing to indulge that bullying uh constantly i think this is an example of aoc's resolution is there

00:25:35.060 any chance look just one minute you can answer this is there any chance to have on the basis on the same

00:25:41.460 arguments that aoc is using against associate justices thomas and elita is there any chance of a

00:25:47.780 resolution of impeachment being sent um being tabled against um judge mershon on the same basis of that

00:25:55.780 his family has a financial interest in a prosecution a political prosecution well he certainly has abused

00:26:04.260 his power as you know he has he that with the gag order that he placed to try to prevent president

00:26:09.540 trump and be able to make his case in the court of public opinion to defend himself with what he's done

00:26:14.500 as you've uh documented so well where he's allowing his family to profit profit tens of millions of

00:26:20.260 dollars uh off of the fundraising that they're doing off this very trial the way that he has ruled time

00:26:26.260 and again in favor of the prosecution against the defense so he certainly should be held accountable

00:26:31.140 and that's a great point that you raise folks we've got congressman bob good here we'll be back in

00:30:30.340 bannon welcome back folks let's continue the conversation with congressman good right now

00:30:37.860 congressman what's happening down there in the fifth district in virginia well we are filing our recount

00:30:45.060 challenge today and that'll begin uh asap as soon as possible here and we'll see what the courts the 0.97

00:30:50.980 judges allow us to do but we want to just make sure that every legal legitimate vote is counted and only

00:30:56.900 every legal legitimate vote and that the ultimate result reflects the true intent of every lawful

00:31:02.100 participating voter across virginia's fifth district and so we're going to pursue that rigorously and

00:31:06.660 we're going to hope and pray that we will have the outcome that we believe is best for the country best

00:31:10.980 for the commonwealth of virginia best for president trump's ability to win virginia and best for the

00:31:15.700 people of the fifth district and our ability to hold the seat what's the time frame for this to play out

00:31:21.620 i think it'll take two or three weeks it depends on the judge and the court there'll be three judge

00:31:27.700 panel that will proceed preside over this and how rigorous they allow this investigation to be

00:31:33.780 we're going to ask for a full hand recount a paper ballot match and then we're going to ask

00:31:38.740 to review some of the concerns that we have the things that just don't quite look right to us

00:31:43.220 and while there may be mistakes we hope that will be uncovered just simple mathematical errors but also

00:31:48.820 there's some other things that we are concerned about during the process i will just tell you

00:31:52.820 though ben uh it has further just revealed how vulnerable our election systems are and how

00:31:59.380 important it is for us to get it right a 50-state solution to secure our elections because we almost

00:32:05.700 operate them as if we have the presumption that no one would ever try to do anything dishonest no one

00:32:10.180 would ever try to cheat no one would ever try to do anything nefarious and our elections are not

00:32:14.820 secure to the degree that they should be and there's too many things that are in place now across

00:32:19.060 the country that facilitate or allow people with ill intent to do things that would compromise the

00:32:24.820 integrity of our elections you know as the chairman of the house freedom caucus i suppose hindsight it's

00:32:32.500 because you are effective it's with hindsight it it's possible i think to have uh to have guessed

00:32:38.980 that the regime might have tried to do all it can to stop your you being returned in november uh can

00:32:46.980 people donate do you have a you are you fundraising for this legal operation can people donate out of

00:32:54.100 state or only from the the commonwealth itself no all across the country people can thankfully many

00:32:59.860 have but we can use that help it's bob good for congress.com slash recount bob good for congress.com

00:33:06.100 slash recount but i would tell you ben when i ever since i've been in congress i've i've said many

00:33:10.580 times on the house floor in speeches and interviews and back in my district we will never

00:33:14.340 save the country until it becomes more important to us to leave having made a difference than it is

00:33:19.220 to see how long we can stay and while i hope that i'm able to stay a little longer and i hope that

00:33:23.460 we'll prevail in this recount it's an uphill challenge there's a high bar to get a court to allow

00:33:27.940 you to to investigate everything but the bottom line i've done what i think is right i i believe i was

00:33:33.700 called to run i've i've worked and served with integrity i've kept my word and i i'm willing

00:33:39.700 to put it in the hands of the lord i've done everything that's that's possible within my

00:33:42.980 control and we'll leave the ultimate results to him congressman good thanks very much for coming on

00:33:48.100 the show and giving giving us this update i hope you'll come back and keep us posted we're very much

00:33:53.300 praying for you the war room you know as you know when there was steve sitting here in the hot seat

00:33:58.500 the war room with and the woman possibly was absolutely 100 behind you from the moment and

00:34:03.300 they still are you have a lot of steve is one of the most steve is one of the most courageous

00:34:08.740 conservative warriors in the country our prayers are with him our support is with him please pass

00:34:12.420 that on thank you my friend congressman thank you very much god bless um and you know let's remember

00:34:20.260 congressman good in our press um because these the heroes there were very few in congress most

00:34:26.420 than the sociopaths there are very few genuinely good people who are willing to stick their their

00:34:32.180 neck out and actually persistently fight for the issues there are too many people who will do the

00:34:36.980 maga platitudes when it comes to selection and then there are nowhere to be seen once it comes to 0.98

00:34:42.980 tabling amendments uh there's a guy there who actually had his shoulder to the wheel um and and i

00:34:48.820 absolutely hope that that something can be sorted out in in this in this time frame um we have a

00:34:55.380 clip i think from denver to introduce carl colonel harvey as we're going to talk very briefly about ukraine

00:35:02.340 and gaza now everyone is waiting for november americans are waiting for november in europe middle east

00:35:16.500 in the pacific the whole world is looking to autumn looking to november and truly speaking putin

00:35:24.980 awaits november 2. it's time to sit out to step out of the shadows to make strong decisions work to act

00:35:34.660 and not to wait for november or any other months to this end we must be strong and uncompromising

00:35:43.380 what happens to that brave young man in his country if donald trump becomes president and you know

00:35:50.260 and does and you know makes good on his threats can i say i love volodymyr zelinski this guy stood up

00:35:58.500 and delivered for his nation for nato for the alliance against putin we ought to cherish volodymyr

00:36:07.780 zelinski what happens if trump is elected is not a good thing trump has been pretty clear that he does

00:36:14.900 not value their fierce loyalty their fierce courage and um i for one hope that whoever is elected they

00:36:25.700 will stand behind volodymyr zelinski i worry if it's donald trump welcome back colonel harvey good afternoon to

00:36:34.660 you good afternoon glad to be here so that you heard the msnbc clip there joyless reed um the one

00:36:44.180 thing in the in the list that they were saying that we needed you know the one thing i didn't hear you

00:36:48.740 know zelinski's loyally pro-nato pro-alliance though obviously ukraine isn't a member of the alliance and

00:36:57.460 against putin the one thing and they were sort of joyless readers nodding and laughing at the one

00:37:04.820 thing i didn't hear that there's no allusion to talking about ukraine were tax-paying americans

00:37:12.020 right the forgotten part of this particular equation there's no reference in again and again and again

00:37:19.940 no reference to tax-paying americans um they didn't do it on this occasion but they the best that they can

00:37:26.100 do is say if we don't stop putin now in ukraine he's going to roll in all the way down into in

00:37:32.420 intercontinental europe all the way sort of across germany all the way down to to spain france and

00:37:38.900 portugal let's not forget that russia has a smaller gdp than the state of new york spread across this huge

00:37:47.460 geographical entity has it has a per capita gdp less than costa rica it's not going anywhere the whole

00:37:54.500 thing that they're sitting there waiting to invade ukraine so that they can roll in and then take 0.63

00:37:59.780 the rest of continental europe it's a fiction but that's what they say um they didn't say it on this

00:38:05.140 occasion but there's no reference to america's in any uh interest to america's uh here uh colonel harvey

00:38:12.900 um right now nato is is having its 75th anniversary in ukraine um you might remember that just a couple of

00:38:23.220 months before russia invaded ukraine emmanuel macron the president of france had said that nato was

00:38:32.420 brain dead and on life support and then a few months later um this engineered war war engineered by

00:38:40.020 nato um took off and then lo and behold nato hasn't been um stronger hasn't been healthier hasn't been more

00:38:47.860 needed as an institution that had no existential reason after the collapse of the berlin war 25

00:38:54.740 years ago after the collapse of soviet uh communism and now after one provoked war after another um it

00:39:01.460 has a new lease of life is that the message coming out uh after this three-day conference uh in washington

00:39:08.260 dc right now colonel harvey well first off thanks for having me and what i'd like to say is that the mbc

00:39:15.860 msnbc hosts um were basically detached from reality uh and the facts in the history of what trump did to

00:39:24.260 strengthen nato um he was the best thing for nato that has occurred in the last 35 years because he

00:39:32.180 drove the increase of annual spending up almost 400 billion dollars by the the commitments that he got

00:39:41.220 nato to make and then any other increase on top of that is directly the result of the war in ukraine

00:39:49.380 number two i you know you're absolutely right you know about the scaremongering about you know russia

00:39:57.860 being a threat to move on the rest of of europe um ukraine the bigger issue right now is you know nato is

00:40:05.860 agreeing to give more weapons f-16s organized training more long-range missiles and more money

00:40:14.020 for a war effort that there is no plan to win there is no way that they can win and they have dribbled

00:40:22.340 in increases every few months okay but they never brought in enough to allow ukraine to win and ukraine

00:40:30.260 has got tremendous disadvantages in resources in manpower and equipment and you know they're against

00:40:37.540 a very dug-in foe that now occupies part of their territory and they have no strategic advantages and

00:40:45.140 they don't have strategic depths there's no way to win and the ukrainian people and others are paying

00:40:51.700 the cost ukrainians more directly so you know these people again you know don't seem to understand that

00:41:01.060 nato is managing a conflict to an unacceptable outcome where ukraine is paying the price trump

00:41:08.580 differently is going to take a very different approach to bring war termination with an understanding

00:41:15.380 that we need to check russia and get them to the table and if they don't come to the table

00:41:20.900 realistically that we will put significant increases in support to ukraine and that's in the policy

00:41:29.540 platform of of you know the republican party that the trump team approved okay um

00:41:41.300 so what is the situation colonel harvey one year ago at the annual nato's annual conference in vilnius

00:41:48.420 the um against president zelensky's fondest hopes there was no formal uh invitation or or even timetable

00:42:00.100 for when a formal invitation to join nato might arise a lot of speculation this at this annual conference

00:42:06.900 which is as i say the 75th anniversary of nato that's something more solid more more concrete would

00:42:13.940 emerge i have said on this show that's not going to happen the reason that's not going to happen

00:42:18.660 is because president biden as a gaffe as a slip up because he is slightly seen now he said not in the

00:42:27.940 time time magazine's interview but in the transcript that time magazine published of the interview he says

00:42:35.460 there that he ruled out the the natoification of ukraine and that's not the administration's

00:42:43.460 official position it's not nato's official position but biden said it quite clearly quite clearly it was

00:42:49.300 garbled you know in that syntax that he has which is why i think a lot of people missed it but he says

00:42:55.380 in that transcript quite clearly he's ruled it out so i i'm not personally expecting any official

00:43:01.860 um timetable to joining what i am expecting is some kind of shiny toy that will distract there will be

00:43:08.900 a safe space saving shiny toy that nato or the americans can offer ukraine but it won't be membership

00:43:17.380 uh why don't you give us an update and and say what the the actual situation is now uh at the conclusion

00:43:24.100 of this three-day long conference kenel harvey well i guess two main things at the 75th anniversary of the

00:43:31.620 the founding of nato you know they've declared that you know when the conditions are right

00:43:38.020 you know ukraine will join the european union and nato the second thing that they declared is

00:43:45.380 you know that they're going to make more moves to you know uh punish china for its support of russia's 0.89

00:43:52.660 war in ukraine now the conditions being right you have to understand this and everyone just listen

00:43:59.780 the the rules are for nato in the charter of nato it requires that no country can become a member of

00:44:07.940 nato if they have any territorial disputes at all ukraine has territorial disputes and until all those

00:44:16.980 territorial disputes are resolved and accepted by the international community nato will not bring on

00:44:24.660 board the ukraine uh government and that's that's would require also unanimity within nato and you

00:44:36.100 may not get unanimity even if they met those conditions so there are long ways off from being

00:44:42.660 able to you know become part of the nato alliance colonel harvey you uh you at the national security

00:44:50.740 capital uh when donald trump uh when donald trump was president and i i guess you know something of

00:44:56.260 geography as well perhaps you can help me out here with the confusion that i have what has china to do

00:45:02.180 or taiwan to do with the north atlantic well nato has been expanding its reach into other areas of the

00:45:11.940 world uh you know indian ocean and you know making partnerships and providing training and advice to

00:45:20.660 countries in asia um china has an issue here which is you know anything that weakens the west or

00:45:28.020 distracts the west from being able to prepare to challenge china where its priority interests lie um like 0.98

00:45:35.380 you know with taiwan or you know on the boundaries of japan or in the south china sea that's

00:45:42.500 strategically good for china it takes very little effort on their part and as far as resources

00:45:48.260 to enable russia which then diminishes and distracts the western alliance from the larger

00:45:53.780 threat looming from beijing um i'm thinking here as i tried to say i i'm actually an international

00:46:00.340 correspondent um uh on this show uh which means i i don't normally dig in so much to um to american

00:46:09.220 domestic politics but on on the international aspect here with with regards to nato and trying

00:46:16.260 to be impartial about my analysis of what's going on in the world thinking one moment for the nations

00:46:23.060 which are skeptical or hesitant or cynical even towards the united states in particular but nato

00:46:29.940 general um does does this expansion this mission creep which you mentioned on behalf of nato not

00:46:36.340 go somewhat to justify the concerns of countries like russia and like china that nato is actually a

00:46:43.940 belligerent force that um that is way beyond what its original founding principle 75 years were and is

00:46:52.020 something that they need to be concerned about and if that is the case does it not legitimize in a certain

00:46:58.100 light russia's interest in coming into ukraine to stop ukraine from from joining nato

00:47:08.900 well there we could have a whole show about you know the lead up to the you know the russian invasion

00:47:14.900 of you know the eastern part of ukraine that's for sure um there were plenty of strategic indicators

00:47:20.260 that russia was going to make that move that the biden administration ignored and you know quite frankly

00:47:27.460 they sent signals that they weren't going to do anything uh they withdrew people from the embassy

00:47:33.140 they did other things that you know sent signals that we were not going to take a stand i guess it

00:47:38.100 was because the intelligence assessments made it made the case that ukraine would fall very quickly

00:47:44.580 so they overestimated russia's capability and underestimated ukrainian defensive capabilities and will to

00:47:51.060 fight another harvey can i just put in there there is another interpretation of these events but it

00:47:58.020 wasn't a case of misreading those signals it was a fact that nato wanted america or wanted russia to

00:48:04.340 invade ukraine because nato needed a new lease of life and politically this war in the west because you

00:48:12.500 obviously have to tax people to fund the war you need to tax in order to raise funding for an organization

00:48:18.260 like no nato you know under a certain aspect if you want to look at this really cynically

00:48:24.660 right but if you want to look at this really cynically russia did nato and the united states

00:48:30.100 and the military industrial complex a favor in invading ukraine russia america's not lost anything

00:48:36.900 out of this um but but nato has as i as i was saying a new lease of life

00:48:41.300 well i don't actually subscribe to that theory but because because i've not seen evidence to support

00:48:51.460 those calculations and decisions within nato um and i was you know tracking the developing intelligence

00:49:00.740 uh leading up to the invasion um and understanding the calculations i think ineptitude

00:49:07.940 not understanding the real world um you know naivete by you know biden and the biden administration

00:49:15.540 jake sullivan and tony blinken you know are are part of that i think a stronger uh president trump

00:49:23.540 being in office would have deterred that from happening notice under obama biden and now biden

00:49:29.780 and kamala harris that's when russia has moved to take parts of georgia take crimea um the you know

00:49:38.900 the obama biden team toppled a russian-leaning ukrainian government uh you know eight years ago or so

00:49:45.780 2014. so you know there's a lot of history here that american people just do not understand how we've

00:49:52.260 been meddling in ukraine and that part of the world and russia's taken advantage under democrat

00:49:59.380 administrations specifically obama's and biden's uh not with bush or with trump so clear-cut um rail

00:50:10.100 politic um being clear about your red lines and being clear about responding with authority and with

00:50:17.140 consequence sends a real message to aggressors and we don't have that from this biden team

00:50:23.700 absolutely true colonel harvey i know here on the war room i think we subscribe a little more to

00:50:28.900 to the the professor john meersheimer uh hypothesis that this war was um uh engineered right from

00:50:36.420 the beginning right from the get-go very grateful for you to come in however to give a slightly

00:50:41.140 alternative uh narrative uh to that and that gives us all something to think about i hope look we also

00:50:47.460 wanted to talk about gaza today there's not enough time for that i hope you'll come back on the show

00:50:52.180 um imminently and give us a breakdown on what's going over there in the meantime quickly how can

00:50:57.860 folks get in touch with you and follow your analysis first at derrickharvey.org and you can

00:51:04.900 contact me and see some of my work as well as inquire about having to come and speak and then at
