In this episode of War Room, host Steve Kambain sits down with the CEO of Meriwether Farms, Catherine O Neill, to talk about her decision not to run for Congress in the midterms and why she thinks it s a smart move.
00:14:27.360They're sending them to Harvard, all of that.
00:14:29.120We could shut the CCP down on this in a second.
00:14:31.940But the overwhelming nature of it from the American people that wants at least some modicum of control on this and then to know that it was because if you read it, it sounds weird.
00:14:41.380It sounds like the populist movement siding with the states against, oh, yes, certainly you need a federal regulatory apparatus.
00:14:55.880Certainly, we've been arguing you've got to have one standard and you've got to hammer that standard out.
00:14:59.900To know that Elon Musk, that his PAC or super PAC were paid for the pole and then paid for the Frubrezo kind of rewording of it to make it like, oh, yeah, well, the oligarchs are going to take care of you here.
00:15:11.480No, they're not going to take care of anything.
00:15:12.840If you're dependent upon them, that is the chicken.
00:15:16.280That's the chicken in charge of the hen house.
00:15:19.580So and the other reason I knew we had we were on the right side or the side of the angels is just following you around the country, whether you were going to these big tech, you know, meetings, all these technological, technological superstars or whether you're going to Hollywood and you're hanging out with celebrities or you're going to these simple little churches in the in the backwoods of America.
00:15:43.360And everybody's kind of united and feeling like, hey, we got to get our arms around this.
00:15:48.020So there that's why this is going to be a titanic battle, because the four horsemen are not they're going to pull every trick in the book to get their way, which is basically government financing, government guarantees, government secure on the debt.
00:16:02.140All of it, because, you know, right now, the business model for the for A.I. doesn't quite look maybe as promising as it did 30 days ago.
00:16:09.960So they're going to be looking for bailouts, guarantees, turning over weapons labs like they want all of it.
00:16:16.560And and we got to make sure that we're there working with people that the American public cannot get screwed.
00:16:23.940Yeah. You know, I think Brendan, Brendan Steinhauser of the Alliance for Secure A.I. put it best.
00:16:33.300He's always told the reporters or audiences when I've been in attendance at his talks that they have the money, but we have the people on our side,
00:16:45.320meaning that you have these tech oligarchs who are pouring at the at the moment, it looks like about 100 million plus into the leading the future pack to push pro A.I.
00:16:56.360candidates and all the other cash flowing through the system to make sure that they come out smelling like a rose.
00:17:02.480Whereas on our side of the aisle, it's mostly the popular will.
00:17:07.640And in a republic, the popular will should win.
00:17:11.320When you also do have some money potentially coming into our side, the public first pack, assuming that they can get everything moving,
00:17:21.720they should be able to fund candidates who are willing to stand up to these companies.
00:17:28.000Maybe to put it in Jim Morrison's terms, they got the guns, but we have the numbers.
00:17:32.780And I think that without a doubt, if my experience traveling around, not just America, but also in conversations with people in Europe,
00:17:41.360people are terrified of what these systems could do to their children, what they could do to their livelihoods,
00:17:48.720what they could do to an enemy population, especially if you end up on the wrong side of it,
00:17:54.280should these weapons systems turn out to be as effective as they're billed to be.
00:18:00.320So the people don't want the future that these tech oligarchs are putting out there.
00:18:07.220The laws will do a lot to slow that down.
00:18:10.340The laws will do a lot to shield the most vulnerable and even the strongest among us should these systems get powerful enough.
00:18:17.380But one thing that these laws will not do is stop the long-term goal of Elon Musk or Sam Altman or Dennis Asabas or Larry Page.
00:18:28.720Those goals, the goals of creating human-level AI and replacing every worker from coders to white-collar to blue-collar
00:18:38.080and to create a system that becomes the final authority on what is and isn't real,
00:18:43.600those goals are only slowed down by the state.
00:18:46.800It's possible that you cannot create such a system,
00:18:50.540that such a system is not possible due to the laws of physics or the mechanics of the systems themselves.
00:18:57.100Or it could be that we won't have enough resources to pour into it.
00:19:00.120But one thing is for sure, that that is the final goal.
00:19:04.460And for the most part, no American or any normal person around the world wants to see a future like that.
00:19:11.540The only person who would want to have a future in which they were basically cradled by robots
00:19:17.100and they become pets to the machine are the kind of blobs that you would find that seek out welfare.
