Classically Abby - 15 MUST-HAVES on my BABY REGISTRY! ⧸⧸ New mom recommendations 👶🍼

00:00:00.000 Hello Classic Crew and welcome to today's video where I'm going to be sharing my top

00:00:04.560 15 items from my baby registry.

00:00:12.720 So this is actually the third time I am trying to film this video. The first time I was thinking I

00:00:19.300 was going to do a video that was my entire baby registry, but I got 30 minutes in and realized

00:00:24.780 that I was not even close to halfway through and I thought, you know, maybe this is a bit ambitious.

00:00:30.840 And then the second time my camera died. So now we are on attempt number three. I've decided to

00:00:36.040 just share with you guys my top 15 items from my registry. There are many more things on a baby

00:00:42.100 registry as those of you who have had babies know. So these are just a few of the things that I am

00:00:47.800 really excited to purchase and that I am looking forward to using with our son. I also wanted to

00:00:53.900 quickly mention some people had asked where we're registered and if they could buy us some things

00:00:58.740 and that is so absolutely generous. Please don't feel pressured to do it. There is really no pressure

00:01:05.080 at all to buy us anything. But if that's something you would like to do, I will put the link in the

00:01:09.600 description box below. And if you would like to buy us something, then you can look or you can make a

00:01:14.280 contribution to like a diaper fund or something. But that's just really sweet and generous. So don't

00:01:19.540 feel like you need to do it. If you would like to, I will put the link in the description box.

00:01:23.860 If you are new to my channel, I am in the third trimester with our first baby. And I've been

00:01:29.040 bringing you guys along my pregnancy journey. I also had a miscarriage earlier this year,

00:01:34.060 which I've been very open about. And this is our rainbow baby. So if you want to continue to

00:01:39.220 follow along with my motherhood journey, or just the rest of my content, which is all about classic

00:01:44.400 living and traditional values, please go ahead and hit that subscribe button and that notification bell so

00:01:49.120 you can get notified of all my new videos. I would also love if you would consider subscribing

00:01:52.520 to my Substack newsletter where you will get access to a ton of exclusive content not available anywhere

00:01:58.060 else, including my podcast and my book club. But now let's get into today's video. So the first item

00:02:04.320 on our registry that was very generously gifted to us by my parents is the Mockingbird stroller. So if you

00:02:12.780 are new to all of this registry stuff, strollers are very complicated. There are a million different

00:02:19.620 options for strollers. They can range from more affordable to very expensive. So the Uppababy is

00:02:27.260 kind of like the high end of strollers. And the Mockingbird is the cheaper, more affordable version

00:02:34.100 of the Uppababy. So I was actually recommended the Mockingbird by a friend of mine. She told me that

00:02:39.360 she had the Mockingbird. She absolutely loved it. And that was really what made me feel confident in

00:02:44.440 choosing that stroller for our baby. So the cool thing about the Mockingbird stroller is that you

00:02:49.400 can buy all of the attachments separately. So if you don't want a certain thing, you don't have to

00:02:54.240 get it. One of the things I love about the Mockingbird is that it converts so that you can have two seats

00:03:00.160 in it for when you have two children. And so because Jacob and I are pleased God with God's help, hoping to

00:03:06.080 have our babies rather close together, I thought it was really important that we get a convertible

00:03:10.660 stroller so that we could have both babies in the stroller. So you can buy all these attachments,

00:03:15.800 you can buy an extra seat, you can buy a bassinet, you can buy clip-ons for the handles and stuff like

00:03:21.120 that, or you don't have to buy it. And I think that's one of the ways that they make it more

00:03:24.000 affordable. So we purchased the base and then we also purchased the bassinet. And we also purchased

00:03:29.300 the piece that allows us to put our car seat into the base of the stroller so that we don't have to

00:03:34.640 get something separate for our car seat. We can use the same stroller for everything. So I'm really

00:03:39.520 looking forward to it. I also chose the light blue color. Now that has nothing to do with gender. I

00:03:44.140 just really like the color light blue. I think it's really pretty. So that was what we chose for the

00:03:49.960 color. And that'll just be for all of our kids, no matter if they're girls or boys, because the

00:03:54.160 stroller doesn't have to be gendered in my opinion. But we're looking forward to using that stroller. 0.64

00:03:59.860 That was one of my favorite purchases. Number two is the PPTP. Now, I don't know if you've heard of this,

00:04:06.140 but when little boys are getting a diaper change, it's very common that they will pee. And when they

00:04:11.940 pee, you can get pee in your face. You can get pee on the wall. You can get pee pretty much everywhere.

00:04:16.480 And so the PPTP is something you put over the baby so that he does not pee on you. And I've heard very

00:04:23.060 good things about it. I've heard it's very useful. And that is something that we are planning on using

00:04:27.760 with our son so that we don't get pee everywhere when we're trying to change his diaper.

00:04:32.060 Number three is the Itsy Ritzy diaper bag. So this is another thing that is really hard to choose.

00:04:38.340 There are like a million different kinds of diaper bags out there. You can get anything your heart

00:04:42.980 could dream of. I did a bit of research and this one, I absolutely loved the way that it was kind

00:04:48.660 of designed. There's a changing mat that fits into the back of the bag and that zips, which is really

00:04:56.220 cool. And then there's all these different pockets and all these different zipper sections for you to

00:05:01.980 be able to store things in a really useful way. I just really liked the layout of this bag. And I'm

00:05:07.380 going to have to use it all the time. So I really wanted to make sure it was something that I liked. So I

00:05:10.880 got it in a pink color. This is something that I did put directly on the registry. And I really, really

00:05:16.580 love it. Number four, and this one, I almost feel guilty mentioning because it's pricey, is the Hatch

00:05:23.600 Grow smart changing pad. So you can get changing pads for really inexpensive. I didn't want to get

00:05:31.760 one that wasn't just wipeable. You can get ones that you have to wash or you have to like take

00:05:35.980 off the cover. That was not something I was interested in. Whatever I got was going to be

00:05:39.640 plastic and it was going to be just easy to wipe down. But the reason I was excited about this pad

00:05:45.640 was because I am planning with God's help to breastfeed. And when you're breastfeeding, it's really

00:05:51.060 difficult to know how many ounces the baby actually got from you, as opposed to a bottle

00:05:56.000 where you can see on the bottle, okay, four ounces. If they drank the whole bottle, they drank four

00:06:00.300 ounces. You don't know in the same way when you're breastfeeding. So the really cool thing about this

00:06:05.440 changing pad is that you can weigh the baby before you nurse them, then you nurse them, and then you put

00:06:11.940 them back on afterward and you can see how many ounces that they actually drank. I think that's a really

00:06:17.060 cool feature. I think it might put my mind at ease. If that's something we choose to make the investment

00:06:21.700 in or someone buys for us, then that's just a really nice addition to the nursery. Otherwise,

00:06:27.700 we'll just get something that is wipeable, like I mentioned. Number five is a haka. So there are a 1.00

00:06:35.120 million different breast pumps out there, but this is a unique one for a unique purpose. So when you are

00:06:42.000 nursing on one side, the other side can sometimes have something called let down, where your breast 0.97

00:06:48.380 milk starts flowing freely and you're leaking essentially. And if you have a haka, what it does 1.00

00:06:54.180 is it kind of suctions to your breast and it can collect all that milk that's being let down and you

00:06:59.460 don't actually have to waste it. You don't have to just like let it leak through whatever you're

00:07:02.960 wearing. I really think that's a useful item and it's something that I look forward to using on a

00:07:07.980 regular basis so that when the baby's nursing on one side, I've got the other side collecting milk

00:07:12.380 at the same time. I think that's just really helpful. And then you can go ahead and switch it

00:07:16.760 when the baby's on the other side. So that is something I always knew I wanted on my registry.

00:07:21.540 I think it was recommended by Lopke's Life here on YouTube and Sarah Therese on YouTube. And those

00:07:27.880 two people, I was like, you know what? I trust them. I'm going to try it. Number six is waterproof

00:07:32.960 changing mats. So I saw this on a bunch of different people's registry lists. When you are

00:07:39.080 nursing in the middle of the night and if you have to change a diaper, you don't really want to have

00:07:42.220 to get up and go to a changing table. It's much easier to be able to just pull out of your little

00:07:47.940 diaper caddy a waterproof changing pad that you can put right on the bed and then you can just change

00:07:53.240 the baby right after you've nursed while you're in bed. And it will be waterproof so it's not going to

00:07:58.960 leak through to your mattress. We also have a waterproof mattress cover for that situation,

00:08:04.560 just in case. But I think that's a really great idea. It just prevents us from having to get up

00:08:10.380 in the middle of the night at 1am or 3am with the baby, be standing up and changing him. This is just

00:08:16.300 an easy way for us to do it right in bed and not worry too much about him having an accident in the bed

00:08:22.720 itself. Number seven is the safety first stay clean humidifier. Okay, so I'm interrupting because I

00:08:30.840 actually changed my mind after recording this video. And so we're back a couple of days later for me to

00:08:39.040 explain why I decided against the one that I initially mentioned and what I want instead. So what I

00:08:45.260 initially mentioned was the safety first humidifier, I believe I said. The reason I decided against this

00:08:51.560 is because it has a rather large light on it that keeps the baby awake. The light stays on because

00:08:58.200 it's part of how it disinfects, I guess, but it stays on and it can disturb baby's sleep. So what I

00:09:04.900 decided to get instead and put on the registry was the Frida Baby humidifier. So Frida Baby, I already

00:09:10.160 talked about them in a bunch of the products, I think. They do so many great things for infant care

00:09:16.260 and they just do a good humidifier. It has an optional nightlight and it has very good reviews.

00:09:23.180 So I want to have a humidifier because humidifiers are good for babies. They keep their skin soft and 0.90

00:09:30.020 they can help with their breathing if they're in a really dry area. And it's not necessarily required,

00:09:35.860 it's just nice to have. So I wanted to get a humidifier. So the initial one that I talked about

00:09:41.720 is a no-go. But this one I think is going to be a better fit. Number eight is the Hatch Baby sound

00:09:49.160 machine. This sound machine has like a million good reviews. And so of course, I literally don't

00:09:56.300 know many moms who haven't put it on their registry. It has like a nightlight situation that you can

00:10:00.920 change the color, it can connect to your phone so that you can put different sounds on and turn it off

00:10:06.200 from afar or turn it on from afar. It's just really useful. Babies need sound to sleep and to rest

00:10:13.640 because what we always think of is like this really quiet place in our womb, it's actually super loud.

00:10:19.620 And people talk about this all the time that the sound that a baby's hearing like all the time is

00:10:23.760 almost like a vacuum or like a lawnmower, like it's really loud in there. So coming from that to the

00:10:31.400 real world being born where it's quiet is actually jarring to them. And it's very comforting to have

00:10:37.260 that white noise. So having a sound machine is really important. But this sound machine

00:10:41.320 specifically has been given like every good review that's possible. So that's something that I'm

00:10:47.000 looking forward to having in his nursery as well. Number nine is the Frida cradle cap system. So if you

00:10:53.180 don't know, when babies are born, after they're born, they can develop something called cradle cap. And

00:10:58.420 it's just a lot of dead skin on their scalp. And it looks not great. But it also is just it can be

00:11:04.040 itchy for them. So what the cradle cap system does is it allows you to kind of scrape it off. I use that

00:11:10.680 and I know that it sounds bad, but it's not scraping. It doesn't hurt them at all. It's very soft. It's

00:11:15.440 very gentle on them. But it allows you to take off that dead skin so that their scalps are more 0.99

00:11:21.120 comfortable and are actually able to grow their hair better. And I think that's a really good thing to have

00:11:27.460 on the registry. Number 10 are water wipes. I have heard this recommendation over and over and over.

00:11:35.920 I don't want to use any wipes that are going to cause an irritation on my baby's bottom. Baby's skin 0.99

00:11:41.240 is so, so sensitive that using something with fragrance or using something with a lot of harsh

00:11:47.220 chemicals can really hurt them. So the water wipes are like super not that at all. They're just really

00:11:53.840 simple. And so you're not really at risk of irritating the baby's skin, but you're getting

00:11:58.420 it clean. And that is what I want for our son. So I am putting water wipes and that's probably all

00:12:05.080 I'm going to use on him for a while so that I don't risk him getting a rash or having a bad reaction.

00:12:10.000 11 is a baby nail trimmer. So people talk about the baby nail clippers and that sounds awful. It sounds

00:12:18.360 terrifying. Baby nail clippers, their fingers are so, so tiny and trying to use a clipper to cut

00:12:24.340 their nails just sounds absolutely awful and just scary. So what I registered for is a file and it's

00:12:32.480 an electric file that will not hurt the baby. It can't hurt the baby and it just allows you to file

00:12:38.940 it down and there's really no risk to hurting them or harming them. So I put that on the registry

00:12:44.280 because it is important to trim the baby's nails because they can scratch themselves or they can

00:12:47.680 scratch you, but you don't want to use a clipper because that can hurt them. So using this nail

00:12:54.500 trimmer, using this nail file, electric nail file just seems like such a great option, such an easy

00:13:00.400 option. And I'm looking forward to trying it out. Number 12 was recommended to me by a good friend of

00:13:06.260 mine and that is the baby bum brush. So basically what this is, it's like a spatula for the baby's bottom 0.82

00:13:12.460 when you're putting creams on them. And the reason that this was recommended to me was that it can

00:13:17.140 just be really messy to use your fingers all the time when you're going into a tub of something and

00:13:23.880 then putting it on the baby. Number one, you can spread bacteria, but number two, it's hard to get

00:13:28.380 off your hands. So using the baby bum brush can actually just allow you to easily spread whatever

00:13:35.080 creams you need to spread on the baby, wipe it off with a wiper, toss that away, and then you don't have 0.99

00:13:40.080 to worry about putting bacteria into the lotion itself and you don't have to worry about it being

00:13:45.340 all over your hands. Number 13 is a baby on board sticker for your car. This was also recommended to

00:13:52.040 me by a different friend and I thought this was a great idea because apparently it actually really

00:13:56.560 does help people be safer around your car if they know there's an infant in it. And so putting a baby

00:14:01.920 on board sticker, I was just like, yeah, absolutely I should do that. I absolutely, anything I can do to

00:14:06.740 make it safer for the baby while we're in the car, I will do. So having a baby on board sticker just

00:14:11.620 seems like a really wise, smart, great idea. And I just put a couple on the registry so that people

00:14:17.580 can purchase them and we can put them in our cars and make things simple. Number 14 is the Design

00:14:23.100 Dua bassinet. It's a Moses basket and it's what we're going to have the baby sleep in for the first

00:14:28.860 few months in our bedroom. So I was really excited to see a Moses basket. I'd never heard of a Moses

00:14:34.220 basket until a couple of years ago and I just love the idea of them. They're aesthetically super

00:14:39.800 beautiful and pleasing, but also I love the idea that you can just grab the handles and carry it

00:14:43.540 around the house. They're great for travel. They're really just an easy way to keep the baby in the

00:14:49.180 bedroom. They don't take up a lot of room. They're not this ugly plastic. And I think it's really nice

00:14:54.040 just to be able to like take the baby from room to room with you even when they're sleeping if you need

00:14:58.360 to. So that's something I really, really like. And I'm so grateful to Design Dua that they actually

00:15:03.600 sent that to me and I really am excited to use it. Last but not least is the Ergo Baby Omni 360.

00:15:11.240 So this is the baby carrier that we chose. Jacob has actually gifted his own baby carrier. It's a

00:15:17.060 tactical baby carrier, which is hilarious. But I chose this Ergo Baby Omni 360 carrier and I am really

00:15:24.040 excited about it because you can carry a newborn infant all the way up to I think something like

00:15:28.840 40 pounds. You can wear it in a bunch of different ways. It's really supportive. It's good for hip

00:15:34.380 dysplasia. It doesn't have any issues with hips for the baby when you're carrying them. And it has 1.00

00:15:39.500 like all these great features. I really love the idea of baby carrying in specific situations. You

00:15:45.460 know, you've got a stroller, you've got the baby carrier, and then really early on we'll probably use

00:15:50.180 a baby wrap. I'll use one of those like big pieces of fabric to keep the baby really close to me. 0.98

00:15:54.680 But this baby carrier has really good reviews. And so I wanted to make sure it was on my registry.

00:16:00.000 So that is it for my top 15 items on my baby registry. I would love to know what you had on

00:16:07.700 your baby registry that you recommend. I would love to know what you think is super important.

00:16:13.320 Maybe I will add it to the list if I think that you guys have something really good to say that I

00:16:17.100 didn't already put on my registry. I would love to hear that in the comments. Thank you so much for
