00:01:34.600 So my first modesty hack is finding flesh-toned undershirts.
00:01:39.340 I got this undershirt from Ann Taylor 100 million years ago,
00:01:43.360 but like, I'm kind of not exaggerating.
00:01:45.620 A really long time ago, I think maybe when I was still in high school,
00:01:48.480 and I still own those same shirts, they still sell them,
00:01:51.720 and they are the best.
00:01:53.720 They come in so many different colors,
00:01:55.820 and because they have this pretty piece right here,
00:01:58.380 they look really classy and purposeful.
00:02:02.200 But they are not distracting from your outfits.
00:02:04.780 They don't immediately make it obvious that you're wearing an undershirt,
00:02:07.740 but if somebody were to look, they would see that you were wearing one,
00:02:10.680 which is the best of all possible worlds.
00:02:12.740 I think having flesh-toned undershirts is the best addition to my wardrobe.
00:02:17.480 I wear them all the time because many of my dresses are v-necks.

00:02:23.140 If I were to wear a darker-colored undershirt,
00:02:25.600 it would break up the line of the v-neck.

00:02:50.160 and they have this pretty piece of kind of like chiffon right at the top,

00:02:56.000 Number two is sew up the slits on your dresses.
00:02:59.840 Lately, I've been noticing that a ton of the dresses that I've been loving
00:03:02.480 that are the perfect length for me,
00:03:03.960 maybe a midi length or right under the knee,
00:03:06.080 have slits that go up way too high.
00:03:08.240 And I personally don't want a slit that goes up too high.
00:03:11.300 I don't find that very modest.
00:03:12.520 And so if I just sew up the slit, then it looks perfect.
00:03:16.400 Now, I don't think you have to sew it up all the way unless you want to.
00:03:19.580 I have one dress that I sewed it up all the way
00:03:21.760 because I found that the slit was weird,
00:03:23.380 so I didn't really like the way it looked with the slit anyways.
00:03:25.780 And then I have another dress that I thought the slit was pretty,
00:03:28.400 but I just sewed it to the knee.
00:03:30.180 So there was a slit right at the knee,
00:03:32.020 but other than that, it's closed up.
00:03:33.720 And I really think that this is just the easiest fix in the world.
00:03:37.720 Number one, you can do it at home.

00:03:41.620 But if you want to bring it to a tailor,
00:03:43.180 it shouldn't cost more than $5 or $6,
00:03:45.460 depending on how many layers there are to the dress.
00:03:48.620 And it's just such an easy fix.
00:03:50.460 If you have a dress that you absolutely love that has a slit,
00:03:53.220 just sew the slit up.
00:03:54.420 Hack number three is shop when the trends are modest,
00:03:58.360 not when the trends are immodest.
00:04:00.740 So during the pandemic,
00:04:01.920 you probably noticed a ton of dresses came out
00:04:04.420 that were kind of prairie style.
00:04:06.340 There's also been dresses inspired by Bridgerton.
00:04:09.440 There's these dresses that are just,
00:04:10.920 they have long sleeves,
00:04:12.340 they're flowy,
00:04:13.240 they come below the knee,
00:04:14.540 which to me is stuff that's very modest.
00:04:16.760 And that was a perfect time to go shopping
00:04:18.660 and stock up on stuff that you like.
00:04:21.160 Now, right now,
00:04:22.360 we're in a season of trends that is much more 90s,
00:04:25.800 a lot of crop tops,
00:04:27.340 a lot of clothing that I would say is not very cute,
00:04:30.100 but also I would say is not very modest.
00:04:31.980 So trying to go shopping a ton in the times
00:04:36.060 when the trends are immodest
00:04:37.220 is just not going to be as easy
00:04:38.960 as when the trends are modest,
00:04:41.400 actually shopping then.
00:04:42.660 Now, there are certain stores
00:04:44.100 that the trends really don't percolate in as much.

00:04:52.680 They just have dresses from all over the place.
00:04:54.720 So I can find dresses there pretty much all the time
00:04:57.520 that are modest.
00:04:58.920 But I do have to search a little bit harder

00:05:02.600 and depending on what the trends are
00:05:04.980 because they're getting their pieces of clothing

00:05:07.780 So if you want to find clothes that you love

00:05:15.340 then that is the perfect time to go shopping.

00:06:26.020 when it comes to dresses.
00:06:27.060 I used to be comfortable wearing things
00:06:28.340 that were a little bit shorter,
00:06:29.380 but as I've gotten older,
00:06:31.240 I've decided that I like dresses
00:06:32.580 that do come a little bit longer.
00:06:34.480 And so I do know what that length looks like on a hanger.
00:06:38.340 But if I look at the top of a dress
00:06:39.800 and I fall in love with it
00:06:40.720 and I pull it off the rack
00:06:41.840 and I notice that it's short,
00:06:43.120 it's such a bummer.
00:06:44.820 So my trick is to look at the bottom of the rack
00:06:47.780 before I look at the top of the rack,
00:06:49.120 and then I'll see which dresses are long enough
00:06:52.140 because some of those dresses
00:06:53.340 are not going to kind of hit that line.
00:06:56.960 They're going to actually be much shorter
00:06:58.380 and I won't even entertain those dresses.

00:07:03.000 that I'm comfortable buying.
00:07:04.420 So figuring out what length you're comfortable wearing
