00:00:27.440 my substack newsletter where you'll get access to a ton of exclusive content not available

00:00:32.560 anywhere else but in today's video i'm really excited to just give you guys an update on my

00:00:37.280 pregnancy so i am officially 25 weeks i believe i will be 26 weeks just as this video goes up

00:00:44.960 and things have been going so well i am so grateful to god for everything that has been going well and

00:00:51.760 i'm really excited to get into today's video and share a little bit about what this second

00:00:57.120 trimester has been like because i think my last pregnancy update was around 16-ish weeks

00:01:02.560 and even though that definitely is the second trimester now i'm like deep into the second

00:01:07.120 trimester and in just a few weeks i will be in the third trimester which is crazy so crazy to believe

00:01:15.440 now before we get into the rest of the video i will say i am filming at a time where it's probably

00:01:20.400 going to start getting dark behind me hopefully the lighting from the front still looks good but you

00:01:24.720 might notice that time is passing and also i wanted to mention why i look so fancy it is this season of

00:01:31.920 holiday parties so jacob and i are going to a holiday party tonight so that is why i look so nice but i

00:01:37.680 mean it looks nice on camera too so i'll take it so now let's get into today's video so i've got my

00:01:44.640 little book of notes here so that i can reference everything i want to talk about so i want to start

00:01:49.840 off with telling you guys about where the baby is at developmentally so as i mentioned i'm about 25

00:01:56.240 weeks this is what the baby looks like he is 14 inches and 1.68 pounds and here's what it says

00:02:04.400 while listening to music you might notice that your baby moves rhythmically in response to the sounds

00:02:09.120 your baby weighs about 1.6 pounds now the little brain is beginning a period of growth and over 50

00:02:15.040 of your baby's energy will be used for this purpose the lungs are developing air sacs and the membrane

00:02:20.080 that allows for the exchange of carbon dioxide and oxygen is now thin enough to let your baby take a

00:02:25.120 breath by the end of the week even though your baby's skin is loose and wrinkly at this point it will

00:02:29.600 fill with fat during the third trimester your baby's eyes are completely developed and the brain is able

00:02:34.480 to register various stimuli such as sound and light so the first thing that i want to talk about is that

00:02:40.080 at 24 weeks we got to see our baby's face it was amazing so we had our 20-week anatomy scan and i

00:02:47.600 don't think i told you guys about this but basically during the anatomy scan if you don't know they measure

00:02:52.320 everything just to make sure the baby is growing healthfully and everything looks good and everything

00:02:57.520 was measuring well but baby was very firmly placed the wrong direction and nothing we could do would change

00:03:05.840 his mind he was very comfortable and he was facing away from the camera so they couldn't get everything

00:03:11.440 they needed to see they couldn't look at his face and they couldn't just finish up looking at his heart

00:03:16.400 so we had to come back at 24 weeks so when we came back at 24 weeks uh he was positioned in a better way

00:03:22.880 and they could see that his heart looks great thank god baruch hashem and we got to see his face and

00:03:29.040 we didn't expect them to do a 3d i don't know if it's called a 3d or a 4d ultrasound anymore so

00:03:34.800 you guys let me know in the comments but we weren't planning on doing that but they had the

00:03:39.120 technology where they just didn't even ask they just flipped the switch and all of a sudden we

00:03:43.920 could see the baby in in 3d and it was amazing oh my gosh he is gorgeous every time i look at him i

00:03:52.160 just feel like crying he's such a little person i'm gonna do a video all about how this pregnancy

00:03:59.760 has just made me even more pro-life uh and being pregnant with your child just it's an incredible

00:04:06.880 thing and he's been kicking up a storm and seeing his little face it's just the best thing ever so

00:04:13.680 it's it's an incredible thing i mean at 24 weeks he's less than he's about a foot long and a little

00:04:19.920 bit over a pound and he's got all these beautiful developed features and he's just stunning and i love

00:04:25.200 him so much so that was so cool i've definitely been feeling tired like around the middle of the

00:04:32.000 day and i've been going to bed early like every night i've been going to bed around 10 30 or 11

00:04:36.720 every night i don't know if that's early for you guys but it's early for us and uh i definitely am

00:04:42.080 more energized than the first trimester and early into the second there's definitely more energy there

00:04:47.040 but i'm still tired i don't think there's ever a point in pregnancy where you're just like

00:04:51.120 wow i feel amazing all the time i that has not been my experience i've been tired pretty

00:04:58.640 consistently but also there are like levels of tired and levels of energy so better than the first

00:05:04.480 trimester i've also been dealing with some indigestion i want to get honest here because

00:05:10.560 not all of the parts of pregnancy are super easy i've had some issues with indigestion and

00:05:16.560 constipation uh which is very common in pregnancy but basically it's something that is very uncomfortable

00:05:24.320 and if you've not experienced it which i am not somebody who usually generally has that problem uh

00:05:30.160 it can be kind of scary especially in pregnancy you're like what are all of these aches and pains

00:05:34.320 well that's why so you have to take a deep breath and recognize okay these are all natural symptoms

00:05:40.080 and then look at the list of recommended medications from your doctor about what you can take so i have been

00:05:45.680 being able to take like milk of magnesia for example which isn't really a medication and it just makes

00:05:50.480 me feel physically better in those emergency situations uh but yeah that's something i definitely

00:05:56.320 struggled with a little bit in the first trimester and really more severely in the second um but baby's

00:06:01.520 getting bigger and the uterus is getting bigger so it kind of makes sense everything's just squished

00:06:06.080 i've also had a little bit of an issue when i'm sleeping with hip pain so i don't know what side you

00:06:12.800 sleep on if you are a side sleeper you are gonna love being pregnant it will not change anything for

00:06:18.720 you if you are a stomach sleeper that's really hard and if you are a back sleeper that's really hard and

00:06:24.960 i happen to be a back sleeper uh so sleeping on my side is not my favorite position and it hurts my hips

00:06:30.880 generally and so i have a pregnancy pillow that i use and that really helps but it is not the most

00:06:36.000 comfortable thing in the world to sleep on my side it just feels things get out of alignment and

00:06:41.040 depending on the night i will wake up with such bad hip pain and i'll try to just switch over to the

00:06:45.920 other side um but it is it can be like pretty intense and severe so i don't know if you have

00:06:50.800 ever experienced that if you are pregnant or were pregnant let me know in the comments if you've had

00:06:56.480 that issue because it is it's a very uh frustrating when you're trying to sleep and you wake up and your

00:07:02.720 hips just are out of alignment and they hurt now what's funny is that in this pregnancy i've really

00:07:08.320 been craving sweets so i know that the old wives tale is that if you're craving salty it's a boy if

00:07:14.640 you're craving sweet it's a girl that has not rung true for me this trimester in the first trimester

00:07:19.360 maybe a little bit more but in this trimester like sweet is where i am happy that is my thing and

00:07:26.160 it's what i've been craving and so like every day i need to have something sweet or i feel very

00:07:31.600 frustrated and i definitely need to get it from a lot of different things i like to have like a sweet

00:07:38.000 drink something i've been doing for the holidays is instead of using creamer i've been putting a

00:07:42.560 little bit of eggnog in my coffee and that seems to quench it makes me feel really really seasonal and

00:07:48.320 happy and also it does like deal with that craving a little bit um and fruits good and helpful but

00:07:54.400 sometimes you want something like actually sweet so the bump has officially come in like if i wear

00:08:01.200 leggings and a big top i think that that is something that can always cover a bump even

00:08:05.680 late into pregnancy i don't know necessarily that people would notice if you were wearing just

00:08:10.800 leggings and something loose and flowy on top um but if i wear anything fitted right now you can

00:08:15.520 definitely see the bump actually maybe i'll stand up and show you guys so i think you can see it here

00:08:20.800 yeah i think you got you can see on camera i mean it is it's definitely there and that's not me

00:08:27.200 pushing it out that is just the bump now but i think that i'm carrying higher over time like

00:08:33.520 initially i thought i was carrying low but then over time i've started to notice that it's like

00:08:38.000 migrating upward so it's definitely an interesting thing to find a way to dress because generally

00:08:45.120 with my figure it's hourglass so defining my waist is kind of how i keep myself looking trim and fit

00:08:52.400 but when you have a bump it's a little bit difficult to define the waist because that's where the bump

00:08:56.720 is so figuring out those clothes that really work for your body and are are flattering and also make

00:09:04.080 you feel pretty when you're in maternity clothes i think that's a really important part of pregnancy

00:09:09.360 is like figuring out how to make yourself feel beautiful even at those times when your body is

00:09:14.880 changing and i would say for the most part i feel pretty confident in my body thank god i'm like

00:09:19.280 excited because it's just it's a symbol that this baby is growing healthy um but there are always times

00:09:26.160 where you feel a little self-conscious you put on an outfit and it's just totally unflattering it

00:09:30.400 doesn't make you look pregnant it just makes you look big so finding those things that really do

00:09:35.200 work for you i think is really important i also wanted to mention just like weight stuff and weight gain

00:09:40.320 because during pregnancy you're supposed to gain weight if you start at a healthy weight you should

00:09:46.160 be gaining about 25 to 30 pounds and it can be a little bit stressful to like track it i eat pretty

00:09:52.880 healthy and i have a similar thing to eat every day because for some reason that just makes me happy

00:09:58.720 i generally have steel cut oats i'll have a yogurt i'll have eggs and tomatoes i'll have

00:10:04.800 uh an english muffin and stuff like that and that makes me very happy and then in the evening things can

00:10:09.520 get a little bit more a little bit more variable something i've realized in this pregnancy is that

00:10:14.000 uh ground beef or just beef generally is a little bit hard for me i don't ever crave it

00:10:19.840 and the smell of raw meat is just like disgusting to me like i always think that it's it's rancid and

00:10:26.480 jacob's like no this is just what meat smells like um so that's been a funny experience and i know that

00:10:32.160 like ground beef and meat is good for you in pregnancy there's iron in it there's good protein

00:10:36.960 in it uh and so i do eat it when it's cooked but it's not something that i ever crave um but getting

00:10:43.280 enough protein just eating healthy eating well is really important but you're also hungrier in pregnancy

00:10:48.480 so trying to like balance all that stuff out is is can be tricky but i think what does help and now

00:10:55.920 we're moving into kind of like a different area of this video is the exercising part of things so

00:11:02.320 i have been going for a daily walk for 30 minutes every single day i go to the gym get on the treadmill

00:11:07.760 and walk for 30 minutes if it was summertime i would be outside but it's cold so i just go to the gym

00:11:12.960 and do that and then i've been alternating between doing yoga in addition to just a daily walk or doing

00:11:20.880 like some weight training exercises um and doing that stuff i think balances out eating a little

00:11:26.720 bit more because it makes it so that your weight gain just is a little bit more natural as opposed

00:11:32.480 to all of all of a sudden and all at once so one of the things that i've definitely noticed is that

00:11:37.600 the baby's kicks have become super frequent like they happen throughout the day it's the best feeling

00:11:43.120 and every time he kicks we just have a little conversation and i just i imagine going with him to the

00:11:48.560 grocery store and having him around when we're running errands and being around the house when

00:11:53.280 i'm taking care of things and it makes me so excited just having this little guy to talk to

00:11:59.520 all day is actually really fun and i love feeling his kicks i can't wait to see them i can't wait until

00:12:06.240 they're like visibly there and also when it's a little bit more consistent because then when he kicks

00:12:11.200 i can take a family member's hand and put him on the belly and he won't get shy because at this point

00:12:16.000 he still gets shy sometimes if i put my hand there he'll kick but when other people put their hand

00:12:21.120 on my belly he gets a little like nervous i think and so he doesn't kick as much so i look forward to

00:12:25.920 the time when people will be able to feel him kick too so a couple of other things have been the birth

00:12:32.320 class that i signed up for i'm planning on doing a video about it on my channel after we finish it to

00:12:38.720 tell you guys my experience with it so i am going to try to do a natural labor i'm also not somebody who

00:12:45.760 thinks that any other form of labor is a bad thing like having an epidural i don't think is a bad thing

00:12:50.480 at all and i am open-minded to that being necessary when i spoke with my doctor he said

00:12:56.320 for a lot of women it's not actually even the pain that makes them get an epidural it's just the 0.97

00:13:01.120 length of time because for a first birth it can take between 12 and 24 hours and being in that

00:13:07.040 level of pain for that long can lead women to to have an epidural which makes total sense to me

00:13:13.200 so i'm not going to blame myself if i get an epidural i don't want there to be any negativity

00:13:18.000 about epidurals in the comments here because i think that epidurals make sense and i would just

00:13:23.840 want to try to have a natural labor if i can but i'm not going to make myself crazy about it i also

00:13:30.400 just think it's good to have the tools to do a natural labor so that for that first part of labor

00:13:35.360 even if i do decide to get an epidural later i have the tools to deal with that with that level of

00:13:40.560 pain the contractions because you don't get an epidural immediately so that is what i'm doing

00:13:45.520 and so because of that i wanted to try and take a birth class so i'm taking a birth class called the

00:13:50.240 copa birth class it's available online and it's just a an online video course and they have a bunch

00:13:57.600 of other things included like meal plans and exercise plans and stuff like that and so jacob and

00:14:03.920 i are watching them together and so far we're really liking them but i'm gonna do a review on my channel

00:14:09.520 after i finish the class because if it is as good as it is now if we continue to really enjoy it

00:14:15.520 then i would like to give that as a resource to you guys and to future moms so that is something

00:14:20.560 that we started which is so crazy to think we're getting close to the birth already not that close

00:14:27.040 but we're only 15 weeks away so that's really cool and then the last thing is the registry oh my gosh

00:14:34.560 i've been working on the registry and it has been crazy i have been doing so much research i've been

00:14:39.760 watching so many people's videos i've been reading all of the lists that my friends have sent me and

00:14:44.880 it's just so difficult like whittling down what you need and the best thing and the best version

00:14:49.760 and there's so many options and it's really overwhelming if you have advice let me know in

00:14:55.360 the comments below i love to hear people's advice about registry stuff we did already order a few

00:15:00.480 things we ordered the crib we ordered the stroller and we ordered the glider and the reason we ordered

00:15:06.880 some things already is because shipping delays like we just don't want to have to worry about it

00:15:12.320 later in the pregnancy when things are taking five months to ship we ordered a dresser for the baby's

00:15:19.920 room i ordered it in november early november and i still don't have a shipping date like i still don't

00:15:25.840 know when it's coming so that's pretty stressful um hopefully we can get something if we can't we'll

00:15:32.160 get like a cheapy changing table in the meantime until the dresser gets delivered but that was kind

00:15:38.320 of a a crazy thing to realize that like everything is going to take forever to ship so we better be on

00:15:44.560 top of it but making a registry is also really fun and it's exciting and you're starting to see like oh my

00:15:49.680 gosh these are all the things we're gonna need and yeah i can't wait so that is my pregnancy update

00:15:55.600 that is me at 24 weeks that is a little guy at 24 weeks everything is going super well 24 25 weeks so

00:16:03.120 thank you guys so much for watching let me know in the comments all of your thoughts what were your

00:16:08.480 experiences in your second trimester or if you are not pregnant but you want to be pregnant or at some

00:16:14.640 point are interested in being pregnant let me know in the comments what you learned in this video
