00:00:00.320 Hello beautiful ladies and welcome to today's video where I'm going to be answering all of your questions about absolutely anything.
00:00:10.340 Before we get started, I'm going to comment on my makeup before you guys do.
00:00:14.680 I decided to go for a very, very dewy, glowy look.
00:00:18.240 It was kind of something that I was looking forward to doing today and I don't know how well it's going to translate on camera.
00:00:23.600 So we'll see. If it doesn't look great, then it is what it is.
00:00:27.920 Over on Instagram and Twitter, I asked you guys just to ask me anything.
00:00:32.640 Any of your questions, whatever you guys were thinking, because I thought it would be fun just to see what you guys had questions about.
00:00:38.140 And you guys delivered. There were a ton of questions.
00:00:41.360 So I'm really excited to go through some of those today and maybe we'll do a part two if we decide that there are more questions than I have time for.
00:00:47.440 So let's hop into it.
00:00:49.200 The first question is biggest musical influences.
00:00:52.420 So I don't know exactly what you mean by musical influences, so I'm just going to tell you a few different things.
00:00:57.400 One is that my dad is a composer and a pianist and he was the one who really introduced me and my siblings to different kinds of music.
00:01:04.680 We were listening to musicals and opera and classical music throughout our childhoods.
00:01:08.920 So I was introduced to that stuff pretty early and I would say my dad is my biggest musical influence.
00:01:15.900 But when it comes to the way that I perform and that I sing, I love Maria Callas.
00:01:20.300 I am obsessed with her.
00:01:21.520 I've probably talked about her too much, but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop now.
00:01:26.440 She is my biggest inspiration when it comes to singing opera because she put singing and acting just right hand in hand together.
00:01:34.060 And that was such a huge inspiration to me.
00:01:36.440 I love the acting part of singing and I think just singing to sing is not as interesting.
00:01:41.060 So I love her as a performer.
00:01:42.920 I love her as an inspiration.
00:01:44.700 And another one of my favorite musical influences, which is not actually classical, would be some jazz singers.
00:01:49.980 So Mel Torme, Frank Sinatra, and Ella Fitzgerald.
00:01:53.080 Those three people probably have influenced the way I perform.
00:01:56.420 I'm very comfortable being on stage and making things up on the spot and not feeling totally tied to what's on the page.
00:02:02.540 And that's a very jazz thing to do.
00:02:04.480 My dad is a jazz pianist, so that's probably also from him.
00:02:07.320 But those would probably be my biggest musical influences.
00:02:10.920 The next question is, how did you win your husband over?
00:02:14.100 That was not super difficult.
00:02:16.720 He pursued me at the beginning and I didn't know if I was interested.
00:02:20.060 So he had to convince me to date him.
00:02:22.080 But that might be good for another video.
00:02:23.800 Let me know in the comments if you guys are interested in my husband and I doing a video all about how we met and our relationship and our wedding and all that stuff.
00:02:31.140 I think that could be kind of fun.
00:02:32.360 The next question is, when did you start showing interest in singing?
00:02:35.580 So I have been singing pretty much my whole life.
00:02:38.780 I found a little yearbook from when I was in preschool.
00:02:42.100 And every kid got a description about what they were like and what their favorite things were to do.
00:02:46.200 And mine said, we'll always remember Abigail as the little girl who liked to sing.
00:02:50.700 So I guess that stuck.
00:02:52.480 But I started singing opera when I was 16.
00:02:55.400 I have been doing musical theater and just singing all the time no matter what.
00:02:59.880 But I hadn't been singing opera when I was 16.
00:03:02.960 And my father actually gave me a voice lesson, an operatic voice lesson, for my Hanukkah present.
00:03:08.980 And at my first voice lesson, my teacher said to me, you know, you could do this as a career.
00:03:13.640 And I didn't believe her.
00:03:15.380 But I loved singing so much that I ended up pursuing it.
00:03:18.620 The next question is, why did you choose to move to Nebraska?
00:03:21.360 Well, the story behind that is actually that my husband got a job out here.
00:03:24.960 So my husband is working out in Nebraska.
00:03:27.060 I can work from anywhere, so I don't need to be in a certain place.
00:03:30.160 And Nebraska turned out to be the best place for the two of us and for him where he got his job.
00:03:34.520 So we are in Nebraska and it's been really nice.
00:03:37.160 I've got this question.
00:03:38.180 It says, you've talked about lifting before.
00:03:40.060 I'd love to hear about your gym and workout routine.
00:03:43.020 So I do really like to weightlift.
00:03:45.600 Weightlifting is probably my favorite way to exercise.
00:03:48.420 I have had a sketchy past with exercising.
00:03:52.200 I didn't really start exercising until I started dating my husband.
00:03:55.640 My husband is very into weightlifting and he inspired me to do the same.
00:03:59.820 And also I started running a little bit while I was with him at the beginning.
00:04:03.060 That sort of petered off.
00:04:04.760 But now we're actually working together and running together, which has been really fun.
00:04:08.540 But I have found that weightlifting is the best thing for me because I can see myself getting better and stronger over time.
00:04:15.720 You can see physically, oh, I'm adding five pounds to this weightlift or whatever it is.
00:04:20.100 So I like that a lot.
00:04:22.060 But more recently, as we've all been home, I've been doing some exercises on my phone that kind of build on each other over 30 days.
00:04:29.380 I really like that because I can, again, see my progress.
00:04:32.100 That for me is the biggest thing.
00:04:33.220 I like being able to see my progress.
00:04:35.200 And then I try to go for walks every day or go for a run while my husband and I are training together to learn how to run like a 5K or a 10K.
00:04:44.060 I'm not the greatest at working out, so I don't think that I'm like the person you should go to for advice about it.
00:04:48.600 I like working out.
00:04:49.620 My husband is really good at working out, so he's been good with helping me.
00:04:53.220 I think it's important.
00:04:54.180 I think it's important to stay fit and stay healthy.
00:04:56.580 But I'm not the best person to ask.
00:04:58.940 The next question is, what are your top three favorite meals to cook, make, and bake?
00:05:03.180 I have a few that I've got in my back pocket, and those are my favorites because I don't have to worry about them.
00:05:08.460 Meat sauce and noodles or zoodles are like the easiest thing ever.
00:05:12.100 You just throw that into a pan.
00:05:13.380 I just chop up some onions, brown some meat, add some marinara sauce, maybe throw in some garlic powder,
00:05:17.960 and then I throw in the zoodles or I boil noodles separately.
00:05:21.340 And that's just the easiest thing ever.
00:05:23.100 And then I'll throw in some broccoli into the oven and bake that with just some garlic powder and paprika, salt, pepper, and olive oil.
00:05:30.940 That's a really easy one.
00:05:32.060 I actually just recently learned how to make ramen, and that's really fun and delicious, and I love that.
00:05:37.400 One of my favorite recipes.
00:05:38.800 And I really like using my ninja foodie, which is kind of the equivalent of an instant pot, to make a bunch of different things.
00:05:45.500 So recently I've been making Mongolian beef, which was delicious, and stews.
00:05:50.140 Stews are great because, especially in an instant pot, you can make them in like an hour and a half, and it's just throwing things in a pot.
00:05:57.140 That's the best thing for me is like easy stuff you can throw in a pot or throw on the stove.
00:06:01.320 So if I have time, I like looking in my cookbooks and taking more time to cook and make something interesting and special, but I don't always have the time.
00:06:08.280 So if I don't, then these recipes are kind of my favorite go-tos.
00:06:11.640 The next question is, how did you get so good at opera, and how did you get into it?
00:06:15.780 So I kind of touched on this a little bit earlier, but the way I got good at opera was by going to school for it.
00:06:22.280 I have a bachelor degree, a master's, and a professional studies certificate.
00:06:26.640 So I actually studied for seven years in school, and I didn't know how to read music when I started college for it, which I think is really awesome.
00:06:35.140 But I practiced a lot, and I worked with great teachers, and I really put all of my heart and soul into it.
00:06:41.880 So that's why I got good at it.
00:06:45.580 The way I got into it was that I had been listening to opera for a very long time, and then my dad got me that lesson for Hanukkah, and I just kept practicing and loving it.
00:06:55.400 Like, I would get home from rehearsal at 10 p.m., and I still wanted to practice.
00:06:59.440 It didn't matter.
00:07:00.400 After that, I applied to colleges, and thank God I got a full scholarship to USC, and that's where it all kind of started from.
00:07:08.480 The next question is, do you paint your nails, go to the salon, or keep them natural?
00:07:13.080 I actually keep them natural.
00:07:14.940 I used to go to the salon, but honestly, it's kind of pricey.
00:07:17.940 If I had it in my budget, I would love to go to the salon and get gels.
00:07:21.080 I hate having normal nail polish because I hate how it looks when it chips.
00:07:24.820 It drives me crazy, so I'd rather have clean nails and never have to worry about getting chips on them than have nails that chip all the time.
00:07:32.940 So either gels or do them at home, and lately I've been doing them at home, and I'm very happy with it.
00:07:38.040 I use, like, a buffer thing, and it makes my nails really shiny, and I love that.
00:07:41.580 If at some point I have it in my budget that I can go to get my nails done, I might do that, but I don't right now.
00:07:47.800 So, we're sticking with stay-at-home nails.
00:07:50.360 Someone was asking about the orthodox rules on modesty, and I mentioned in a video that I was raised orthodox religious,
00:07:56.520 and there are a lot of different rules about how you should dress as a woman to be modest.
00:08:01.300 And I'm not the expert on all of these things.
00:08:03.920 Of course, I lived it, but there's a lot of different opinions.
00:08:06.560 That's what it's all about.
00:08:07.840 So, one of the things is that you would cover your elbows, or you can wear a shirt that comes a fist above your elbow.
00:08:15.120 That's one idea.
00:08:15.860 Another idea is that you should cover your collarbone, or you would have about four fingers down from your collarbone.
00:08:20.880 That's an idea.
00:08:22.220 You would wear skirts, although some people say you can wear pants if you wear a longer tunic.
00:08:26.900 There's a lot of different options on how you can dress modestly according to orthodox Jewish rules.
00:08:31.860 As you guys know, I mentioned this in an earlier video, I'm not keeping those completely right now,
00:08:36.620 so don't look at me as an example.
00:08:38.200 I am keeping kind of basic levels of modesty and not necessarily orthodox rules.
00:08:44.500 But hopefully in the future, I will be keeping orthodox rules as my husband and I become more observant.
00:08:49.080 So I had to run over to my vanity because somebody asked what my favorite summertime lipstick is.
00:08:54.880 I brought over three to show you guys.
00:08:57.500 So I have this Wet n Wild catsuit, liquid catsuit in Give Me Mocha.
00:09:03.400 This is really all year round.
00:09:05.060 I just really like it because it lasts all day and it's super natural looking.
00:09:08.840 And then if you want something a little bit more glossy, this is kind of the equivalent.
00:09:11.820 It's the liquid catsuit, but it's the high shine lipstick.
00:09:14.980 And this is in Cedar Later, but as you can see, the color is pretty similar.
00:09:19.360 One is just a little bit more shiny, one is long lasting.
00:09:21.900 And then this is a recent favorite that I've been absolutely loving.
00:09:24.740 It's not really a lipstick, but I still like it a lot.
00:09:26.800 And this is the Color and Care Lip Oil in Stick from Almay.
00:09:31.380 Super pretty.
00:09:32.060 This one's rosy glaze, very summery, more like a lip balm mixed with a lipstick and having that together.
00:09:39.200 And it's just like a really pretty pink color.
00:09:40.760 Somebody else asked, who is your favorite opera singer?
00:09:44.020 P.S. I love your musical talent.
00:09:45.820 That's so nice. Thank you so much.
00:09:48.040 So I did mention that Maria Collis is my favorite opera singer,
00:09:51.800 but I have a bunch of favorite opera singers.
00:09:54.180 So I thought I'd mention a few others.
00:09:56.120 Pavarotti.
00:09:56.940 I mean, come on.
00:09:58.040 He's stunning.
00:09:59.380 I love him.
00:10:00.540 Mirella Freyney.
00:10:02.240 She has a gorgeous voice.
00:10:04.020 Love her.
00:10:04.740 She was also in a production of La Boheme.
00:10:06.860 And then more modern performers, Jonas Kaufmann.
00:10:09.320 He's an incredible Barra tenor.
00:10:12.200 He's just got a gorgeous voice.
00:10:14.540 And Sondra Rodonofsky.
00:10:16.660 She has a gorgeous, gorgeous tone.
00:10:18.840 Check her out.
00:10:19.800 Love all of them.
00:10:20.980 They're all incredible.
00:10:22.040 There's a lot of beautiful opera singers out there.
00:10:24.440 So, yeah.
00:10:25.960 The next question is,
00:10:27.180 As a performer, how do you balance costuming and your modesty standards?
00:10:31.100 That's a really tricky one,
00:10:32.840 so I'm not going to say it's easy.
00:10:34.920 There are times where you're given things to wear
00:10:36.960 that are definitely outside of your comfort zone as far as modesty.
00:10:40.480 I'm a little bit more flexible when it comes to that.
00:10:42.560 In the same way as if you're an Olympic swimmer
00:10:44.840 and you generally are a modest person,
00:10:46.540 but you have to wear a bathing suit out,
00:10:48.500 I wouldn't blame you for that.
00:10:49.740 That's a career thing.
00:10:51.600 Same with operatic stuff,
00:10:53.400 depending on how immodest it gets, right?
00:10:55.660 I think it's definitely a balancing act.
00:10:58.220 It's talking to the director,
00:10:59.780 talking to the costumer,
00:11:00.980 finding something that works for you.
00:11:02.960 Of course, there are actors who do nude scenes.
00:11:06.340 Never going to do that.
00:11:07.720 That is totally immodest in my opinion
00:11:09.880 and not something that you can really justify.
00:11:12.560 But wearing certain outfits that you might not wear in real life
00:11:16.560 because it goes with the character,
00:11:18.760 I think that sometimes it's okay in that situation.
00:11:21.680 It's for work,
00:11:22.740 and it's not your intention in real life
00:11:25.400 to be drawing attention to yourself,
00:11:26.720 but maybe that's the character's intention.
00:11:28.880 The character wants that kind of immodest look.
00:11:31.960 So if that's what the character needs,
00:11:33.840 then you might need to be a little bit more flexible about it,
00:11:36.720 but it is a fine line.
00:11:39.200 Somebody asked,
00:11:40.100 what's the difference between a trad wife and a classical wife?
00:11:43.060 I have a whole video on that,
00:11:44.560 so I will link that up above.
00:11:46.480 The next question is,
00:11:47.900 how to not get jealous of other girls
00:11:49.980 when I'm trying to dress more modestly?
00:11:51.840 I actually love this question.
00:11:54.580 I think this is such a real thing.
00:11:56.480 It's so hard
00:11:57.840 when you want to be dressing a certain way
00:12:00.060 because you feel that it's right for you
00:12:01.620 and you feel that it's right with your relationship with God
00:12:03.860 to not get jealous of other women
00:12:06.040 who might be dressing more immodestly.
00:12:07.900 I totally understand why you would be jealous.
00:12:10.680 I think it comes down to
00:12:12.140 having the self-confidence
00:12:13.660 to know that this is right for you
00:12:15.600 and not comparing yourself to other people.
00:12:17.580 I'm not saying that's easy.
00:12:18.840 I struggle with it.
00:12:20.140 I think every woman struggles with it,
00:12:22.040 but it's knowing what you want,
00:12:24.060 knowing the attention that you want
00:12:25.500 and knowing that the attention
00:12:27.000 that this other girl might be getting
00:12:28.440 is not necessarily the attention
00:12:30.160 you would want to get.
00:12:31.600 If there's another girl
00:12:32.440 who's getting a lot of attention from guys,
00:12:34.160 just remember it's attention for her body
00:12:36.640 and not for her personality off the bat.
00:12:39.480 And you want to be the kind of person
00:12:40.860 who attracts a man because you look beautiful
00:12:43.040 and then he'll get to know your personality.
00:12:44.640 You want to attract the right kind of guy
00:12:46.880 and that's going to show through
00:12:48.720 in the way that you dress.
00:12:50.220 So keeping that in mind
00:12:51.760 that you'll be dressing for the kind of guy you want
00:12:54.820 in the same way that you would dress for the job you want,
00:12:57.560 that's going to help you with that kind of jealousy.
00:13:01.340 Also, if you do believe in God
00:13:03.060 and you're dressing modestly for that purpose as well,
00:13:06.280 not just for yourself,
00:13:08.780 you'll sort of feel a connection with God
00:13:10.480 and this kind of camaraderie with God.
00:13:12.260 And it feels more like,
00:13:14.400 hey, I'm doing this for me
00:13:15.500 and for my relationship with my creator.
00:13:18.520 And that's kind of a nice thing
00:13:20.220 that you can take pride in.
00:13:22.500 But it is difficult not to get jealous in those situations.
00:13:25.540 And then the other thing you can do
00:13:26.840 just kind of to help with that
00:13:28.020 is having a little immodest outfit
00:13:30.160 that you keep around the house
00:13:31.300 and you just wear for yourself
00:13:32.640 or for your husband
00:13:33.660 that it's not something you need to share with the world,
00:13:35.940 but you just have it so you can wear it
00:13:37.680 whenever you're feeling a little bit down about it
00:13:40.080 or whatever it is.
00:13:40.940 And you can walk around the house
00:13:42.380 and feel kind of cute and sexy.
00:13:44.600 The next question is,
00:13:45.620 how can I make conservative female friends
00:13:48.140 at an art college?
00:13:50.020 It's tricky,
00:13:50.840 is all I'll say,
00:13:51.680 is that it's tricky.
00:13:52.540 So you might have to find clubs
00:13:54.180 that are specifically designated
00:13:55.520 for people who believe in God
00:13:57.700 or people who come right out
00:13:59.020 and say that they're conservative.
00:14:00.500 But trying to talk about it
00:14:01.700 with other people in your friend group
00:14:03.680 is really tricky
00:14:05.060 because you don't want to alienate people
00:14:08.040 who would be not only friends
00:14:10.200 but colleagues at work.
00:14:12.020 And that is something
00:14:13.260 that is a very hard line to walk.
00:14:15.280 So I would say
00:14:16.260 finding those groups
00:14:18.060 through other means
00:14:19.840 instead of just saying right out
00:14:21.700 what your views are
00:14:22.640 might be easier.
00:14:23.640 The other part of it
00:14:25.100 is that if you are kind of quiet
00:14:26.920 when political conversations come up
00:14:29.140 you might start to notice
00:14:30.240 that other people are quiet too.
00:14:32.340 And if they are
00:14:33.120 then you can kind of start to notice
00:14:35.820 who might be more
00:14:37.180 on the conservative side
00:14:38.340 of the spectrum.
00:14:39.540 So maybe being just aware
00:14:41.600 and trying to keep an eye out
00:14:44.120 would be good.
00:14:44.740 If you could change
00:14:45.980 something in the world
00:14:46.920 what would it be?
00:14:47.940 Big or small?
00:14:49.360 I would make it
00:14:50.040 so that all delicious things
00:14:51.380 were healthy
00:14:51.940 and all the things
00:14:53.020 that tasted bad
00:14:53.900 were unhealthy.
00:14:56.120 Think about how easy life would be.
00:14:58.300 It would be amazing.
00:14:59.540 A donut?
00:15:00.380 Good for you.
00:15:01.400 Can you imagine?
00:15:02.640 That's the dream.
00:15:03.700 Who is someone
00:15:04.460 you look up to in the media?
00:15:06.960 I don't know if you would
00:15:07.760 call this in the media
00:15:08.640 but I think Nikki Haley
00:15:09.980 is someone to look up to.
00:15:11.060 She's very strong
00:15:12.120 and she's very clear
00:15:13.280 about her opinions
00:15:14.080 and she's not afraid
00:15:15.420 to voice them
00:15:15.940 and I think that's really cool.
00:15:17.500 What's your relationship
00:15:18.280 like with your brother?
00:15:19.560 It's awesome.
00:15:20.620 We're 10 years apart
00:15:21.540 so he's 10 years older
00:15:22.880 than I am
00:15:23.500 but we are really close
00:15:25.700 and we talk pretty frequently
00:15:26.860 and yeah,
00:15:27.880 he's my brother.
00:15:29.480 I love him.
00:15:30.460 What's been the biggest challenge
00:15:31.740 moving from LA to Nebraska?
00:15:33.960 So I didn't actually go
00:15:35.040 directly from LA to Nebraska.
00:15:36.960 I was in LA growing up
00:15:38.640 and then I was in New York
00:15:40.700 for three years
00:15:42.100 studying music.
00:15:43.020 Then I lived in Virginia
00:15:44.400 for a year with my husband
00:15:45.720 and then we moved to Nebraska.
00:15:47.760 So I guess the change
00:15:50.180 would be from Virginia
00:15:51.540 to Nebraska
00:15:52.260 but the biggest change
00:15:53.680 really is just that
00:15:54.700 it's a little bit more isolated
00:15:55.940 than I'm used to.
00:15:57.000 Being on the east coast
00:15:57.800 or the west coast
00:15:58.400 things are just closer
00:15:59.240 to each other
00:15:59.780 and the closest really major city
00:16:02.120 is eight hours away.
00:16:03.300 So that's not something
00:16:03.940 I'm super used to.
00:16:05.040 When you're on the west coast
00:16:06.080 you can drive a couple of hours
00:16:07.280 and you're doing a day trip
00:16:08.480 somewhere cool
00:16:09.160 and if you're on the east coast
00:16:10.380 I mean you can pretty much
00:16:11.280 drive anywhere
00:16:11.800 in any amount of time.
00:16:14.060 Everything's pretty close together.
00:16:15.680 Here there's Kansas City
00:16:17.240 which is a big city
00:16:18.220 but it's not a huge one
00:16:19.260 and then there's Chicago.
00:16:21.060 So it's just kind of alone
00:16:22.380 and then our families
00:16:23.580 are spread out
00:16:24.720 so we don't get to see people
00:16:25.880 as often as we would like.
00:16:27.680 Especially right now
00:16:28.780 that makes things
00:16:29.360 a little bit tricky
00:16:30.060 but the thing I love
00:16:31.540 about Nebraska
00:16:32.160 is just how easy
00:16:33.740 everything is.
00:16:34.560 Life is easy out here.
00:16:35.780 It's not expensive
00:16:36.720 to live out here.
00:16:37.720 You can get pretty much
00:16:38.520 anywhere in 15 minutes.
00:16:40.220 I mean that's the
00:16:40.880 that's the high end
00:16:42.640 and the people here
00:16:44.380 are super nice
00:16:45.420 and warm
00:16:46.080 and you never have to worry
00:16:47.280 about offending anyone.
00:16:48.480 It's pretty great.
00:16:50.900 Who is one of the most
00:16:51.820 influential people
00:16:52.860 in my life?
00:16:54.360 I would say my mother.
00:16:56.420 I love my mom.
00:16:57.660 She's my best friend.
00:16:58.700 She's also my role model.
00:17:00.280 I'm really close to her
00:17:01.340 and she gives me great advice
00:17:02.920 and I love that I can go to her
00:17:05.020 when things are good or bad
00:17:07.220 and she always has something to say.
00:17:09.360 I'm a huge proponent
00:17:10.360 of women being close to their moms.
00:17:12.040 I think that they can offer
00:17:13.160 really good insights
00:17:14.040 into their life
00:17:14.860 and I'm really lucky
00:17:16.340 that I have such a good
00:17:17.120 relationship with mine.
00:17:18.380 What kind of books do I enjoy?
00:17:20.660 Well, I love fiction.
00:17:22.640 I love sci-fi.
00:17:23.900 I've been trying to read
00:17:24.940 more books that are historical.
00:17:26.980 I like books that are historical
00:17:28.200 but are written
00:17:28.960 sort of like fiction
00:17:29.960 as I think I've mentioned
00:17:31.260 in a few videos
00:17:31.840 I really like Eric Larson.
00:17:33.300 He has a lot of books
00:17:34.640 that feel like
00:17:35.600 you're not reading history
00:17:36.560 but it's great.
00:17:38.260 I love that.
00:17:39.960 I mean, I tend to read
00:17:41.800 a lot of classics.
00:17:42.740 I like the classics a lot.
00:17:44.180 They're well written.
00:17:46.060 I think something
00:17:46.760 that I struggle with
00:17:47.740 is that classics
00:17:48.720 take a long time to read
00:17:49.820 so you hear people say
00:17:50.980 I've read 50 books this year
00:17:52.540 and I'm like
00:17:53.080 what kind of books though?
00:17:54.540 because if it's not a classic
00:17:55.660 you can maybe read it
00:17:56.760 in a week
00:17:57.540 but classics usually
00:17:58.720 take a little bit longer
00:17:59.640 especially when you're working
00:18:00.720 and you want to spend time
00:18:01.680 with your family.
00:18:02.600 That's the one thing
00:18:03.200 about reading
00:18:03.660 that I'm not the biggest fan of
00:18:04.840 is that it's a little bit
00:18:06.400 of a solitary activity
00:18:07.740 and if I'm going to have time off
00:18:09.940 I like to be spending
00:18:10.840 that with my husband.
00:18:12.140 One of the things
00:18:12.680 we've been doing
00:18:13.100 to remedy that
00:18:13.760 is listening to audiobooks
00:18:15.260 and I absolutely love
00:18:16.800 listening to audiobooks
00:18:17.800 with him.
00:18:18.140 It's been really nice.
00:18:18.960 Any advice for college-aged women?
00:18:22.180 Yes.
00:18:22.840 What I'll say
00:18:23.380 is that you're probably
00:18:24.080 experiencing a lot of pressure
00:18:25.420 to drink,
00:18:27.400 dress a little bit more modestly,
00:18:29.300 hang out with guys
00:18:30.280 in an immodest way,
00:18:31.820 act actually more immaturely
00:18:33.920 and just experiment.
00:18:36.780 You'll regret that.
00:18:37.980 Don't do it.
00:18:39.140 Try and stay strong
00:18:40.460 with your morals
00:18:41.020 and if you feel like
00:18:42.040 you're struggling
00:18:42.840 talk to someone.
00:18:44.380 Talk to your mom.
00:18:45.240 Talk to your friends.
00:18:46.380 Make good friends
00:18:47.240 who aren't going to pressure you
00:18:48.540 into those things
00:18:49.260 and just remember that
00:18:50.840 even though people act like
00:18:52.100 college is a crazy time
00:18:53.560 for crazy experiences
00:18:55.100 it is a formative time
00:18:56.800 in your life
00:18:57.200 where maybe you can even
00:18:58.020 meet the guy you're going to marry.
00:18:59.500 So try and keep that in mind.
00:19:01.660 Don't fall into the trap
00:19:02.900 of partying it up at college.
00:19:04.960 It's not worth it.
00:19:06.700 The next question is
00:19:07.620 what's your skincare routine?
00:19:09.680 So I actually have a video
00:19:11.080 about that.
00:19:11.700 I'll link that above
00:19:12.540 and it's pretty much the same
00:19:14.060 from the last time
00:19:14.700 I talked about it.
00:19:15.860 I usually use Neutrogena stuff.
00:19:17.820 I'm pretty simple
00:19:19.020 when it comes to that
00:19:19.880 and I use a couple of topical creams
00:19:22.100 from a dermatologist
00:19:23.100 because I used to struggle
00:19:24.360 with acne
00:19:24.940 and that was a big thing for me.
00:19:28.140 So I do love talking about skin
00:19:30.020 because I worked really hard
00:19:31.260 to get to the place
00:19:31.960 where I'm at now
00:19:32.860 with my skin
00:19:33.760 but I understand
00:19:34.620 how hard it can be
00:19:35.880 when you're struggling with acne
00:19:37.140 or you have acne prone skin.
00:19:38.940 So I totally understand
00:19:40.200 the struggle
00:19:40.620 and I am a huge proponent
00:19:43.200 of chatting about it
00:19:44.220 and not feeling ashamed
00:19:45.220 of how your skin looks
00:19:46.200 because I get it.
00:19:47.740 It's really hard.
00:19:49.000 Where do you get
00:19:49.660 your beauty
00:19:50.260 and fashion inspiration?
00:19:52.200 I love the classic stuff.
00:19:53.780 Audrey Hepburn
00:19:54.300 has always been
00:19:55.000 one of my absolute favorites.
00:19:56.460 She is gorgeous.
00:19:57.680 I think she's stunning
00:19:58.820 and as far as now
00:20:01.520 I would say
00:20:02.440 the Royals,
00:20:03.120 Kate Middleton.
00:20:03.980 She looks beautiful
00:20:04.840 and very classic,
00:20:06.500 very modern
00:20:07.780 but still looks really modest.
00:20:09.620 I love her fashion sense
00:20:11.140 and for makeup
00:20:12.040 there are a bunch
00:20:12.840 of YouTubers that I watch.
00:20:14.160 I really like Jessica Braun.
00:20:15.680 She's somebody
00:20:16.240 I've started watching
00:20:16.960 more recently
00:20:17.500 and I really like her videos.
00:20:19.060 Much more on the fun
00:20:20.460 and natural side
00:20:21.280 not like crazy dramatic.
00:20:24.380 And I've always
00:20:25.200 really liked Kathleen Lights.
00:20:26.540 I think that she's
00:20:27.260 really friendly
00:20:27.920 and inviting
00:20:28.820 and I really like her channel.
00:20:30.340 So that's probably
00:20:31.440 where I get my beauty stuff
00:20:32.620 currently.
00:20:33.740 Opera question.
00:20:34.880 Do you actually know
00:20:35.700 the various languages
00:20:36.540 you're singing in?
00:20:37.980 Yes.
00:20:39.120 I don't know them all fluently
00:20:40.500 but I've taken classes
00:20:41.960 in all of them.
00:20:42.680 I speak Italian,
00:20:43.980 French, German,
00:20:44.940 Russian, Hebrew,
00:20:45.940 and English.
00:20:47.020 Obviously English
00:20:47.780 is my native language
00:20:48.780 and Hebrew I studied
00:20:49.880 in Jewish day schools
00:20:51.000 and I don't speak
00:20:53.000 any of them fluently
00:20:53.780 but I can read them
00:20:54.920 and I can understand
00:20:56.160 the structure of words
00:20:57.160 if I don't know it
00:20:57.900 off the bat.
00:20:58.840 I also can look up
00:20:59.760 the vocabulary
00:21:00.300 but I understand
00:21:01.500 what I'm saying
00:21:02.300 when I'm singing.
00:21:03.140 I don't ever sing something
00:21:04.080 and not know what I'm saying
00:21:05.060 because then
00:21:05.940 how do you act that?
00:21:06.940 And acting is such a huge part
00:21:08.800 of how I like to perform.
00:21:10.400 So yes,
00:21:11.120 I do know all the languages
00:21:12.380 that I'm singing in.
00:21:13.700 Next up is
00:21:14.560 how do you deal
00:21:15.360 with hateful comments
00:21:16.580 on your videos and posts?
00:21:18.660 Here's what it comes down to.
00:21:20.260 I don't really read them.
00:21:21.380 I see them,
00:21:22.040 I delete them
00:21:22.520 so other people
00:21:23.140 don't have to suffer through it
00:21:24.200 and then I delete them.
00:21:25.340 I know that the people
00:21:26.160 who are writing them
00:21:26.880 don't know me
00:21:27.520 and don't even really care
00:21:28.520 about my content.
00:21:29.480 They're just kind of there
00:21:30.300 to be trolls.
00:21:31.320 So it doesn't really bother me
00:21:33.060 at the end of the day.
00:21:33.960 I know people talk about it
00:21:34.960 like they really struggle with it
00:21:36.380 and I can understand why
00:21:37.620 but I'm lucky enough
00:21:39.200 that the people
00:21:39.880 who are commenting
00:21:40.560 hateful things
00:21:41.340 aren't really watching my content
00:21:43.540 so they're not really saying
00:21:44.920 anything that would bother me
00:21:46.100 and if someone disagrees with me
00:21:47.580 I don't consider that hateful.
00:21:49.280 Hateful comments
00:21:49.920 are just annoying.
00:21:51.180 They're not really,
00:21:52.340 they don't really bother me.
00:21:53.440 They are what they are
00:21:54.240 and you just kind of
00:21:55.180 leave them to the side.
00:21:56.620 What can I add to my bedroom
00:21:57.960 to make it more classic?
00:21:59.600 I love that question.
00:22:00.820 I used to dream about
00:22:01.800 being an interior designer.
00:22:03.400 If it's just your bedroom
00:22:04.820 you can go a little bit
00:22:05.740 more feminine and girly.
00:22:07.380 Of course if you're married
00:22:08.340 then you might need
00:22:09.440 to take your husband
00:22:10.220 into account
00:22:11.140 but if it's just you
00:22:12.700 for the moment
00:22:13.280 put up some twinkly lights.
00:22:14.780 I love my twinkly lights.
00:22:16.040 They make me so happy.
00:22:17.340 And having some fake plants
00:22:18.680 and flowers
00:22:19.160 so you don't have to worry
00:22:19.960 if they die.
00:22:20.640 If you have a green thumb
00:22:21.460 have real ones.
00:22:22.820 Absolutely.
00:22:23.500 But if you don't want
00:22:24.240 to worry about it
00:22:24.900 then having some fake flowers
00:22:26.780 around makes it super pretty.
00:22:28.560 And then having some candles.
00:22:30.620 I like wood in the bedroom.
00:22:32.200 I think it looks really nice.
00:22:33.140 Whether that be painted white
00:22:34.580 or a wood look.
00:22:35.800 I think it looks beautiful.
00:22:37.260 And then sticking within
00:22:38.040 a color palette.
00:22:39.260 I of course will always recommend
00:22:41.240 white and navy blue.
00:22:43.020 Nautical.
00:22:43.720 Very calming.
00:22:45.120 And putting up
00:22:45.780 a little bit of wall art.
00:22:46.940 Don't leave your walls bare.
00:22:48.300 Make sure that they look warm
00:22:49.580 and comfortable
00:22:50.300 and just make your room
00:22:52.020 a place you love to be.
00:22:53.760 How many kids do you want?
00:22:55.380 Anytime soon?
00:22:56.320 I would like three or four.
00:22:57.820 I think my husband
00:22:58.620 would always like more.
00:23:00.020 But I think we're gonna end up
00:23:01.800 with three or four.
00:23:02.520 We'll see what happens.
00:23:03.840 And anytime soon?
00:23:05.040 Hopefully.
00:23:05.720 We're thinking about soon-ish.
00:23:07.600 But we'll see what ends up happening.
00:23:09.060 And yeah.
00:23:09.920 It's very much
00:23:11.360 in our future plans.
00:23:12.980 Advice for looking elegant
00:23:14.260 while wearing flats
00:23:15.740 or low heels.
00:23:16.980 Yes.
00:23:17.720 Just look at Audrey Hepburn.
00:23:18.920 Audrey Hepburn wore flats
00:23:19.840 in most of her movies
00:23:20.600 because she's pretty tall
00:23:21.680 and they didn't want her
00:23:22.780 towering over her male partner.
00:23:24.100 So what I would suggest
00:23:26.100 is wearing cigarette pants
00:23:27.500 with flats looks so nice
00:23:29.860 and it looks beautiful with skirts.
00:23:32.280 Wearing flats looks great with skirts.
00:23:34.140 The only length
00:23:35.000 it doesn't look good at
00:23:36.040 is like three inches below the knee.
00:23:38.820 That doesn't look great.
00:23:40.060 But if you wear a T-length skirt,
00:23:42.340 beautiful with flats.
00:23:43.660 And if you wear one
00:23:44.360 that's like right at the knee,
00:23:45.800 beautiful with flats.
00:23:46.820 So you can absolutely look beautiful
00:23:48.600 and lovely wearing flats
00:23:49.820 for a low heel
00:23:50.580 and it'll just look
00:23:51.520 very Audrey Hepburn-esque.
00:23:53.080 Oh my gosh,
00:23:54.340 there are a ton more questions
00:23:55.560 but we're gonna have to save that
00:23:57.460 for another video.
