00:01:16.720 I still don't own a really cute picnic basket but at some point in my life I would really
00:01:21.480 really like to own one because I just think that they are so pretty classic and adorable
00:01:26.480 and so just the idea of doing your makeup for a specific thing like going to a picnic

00:01:32.480 I know that when I was using YouTube a lot for makeup tutorials I would search things like

00:01:38.480 It wasn't just summer makeup.
00:01:39.480 It was summer date night park makeup you know and people don't always put that in the
00:01:44.480 title and I just think it's nice to have a specific look for a specific event.
00:01:49.480 I hope you guys like today's look so let's get into it.
00:01:52.480 Okay guys so let's get started with our skin.
00:01:55.480 So the first thing you should always do in the summertime is put on sunscreen.
00:02:00.480 I talk about this all the time but it's really important.

00:02:03.480 I use this as my moisturizer in the morning.
00:02:06.480 This is a sunscreen from Aveeno and it's a Protect Plus Hydrate so that's why I like it
00:02:10.480 as a moisturizer and it's SPF 50 so I really really like this stuff.
00:02:14.480 It also doesn't break me out at all and it's just important to use sunscreen ever.
00:02:18.480 Day no matter what the weather is like because it's just going to prevent skin cancer as well
00:02:23.480 as prevent your skin from getting wrinkles as you get older.
00:02:26.480 Of course we're all going to get wrinkles.
00:02:29.480 So that's not to say that this is going to prevent you from getting wrinkles altogether
00:02:33.480 but it does slow down the process a bit.
00:02:35.480 So you'll start off by putting this on and then wait maybe 10 minutes, 15 minutes for it
00:02:40.480 to kind of sink into the skin a little bit.
00:02:43.480 And now I want to go in with my primer.
00:02:45.480 So I'm going to be going in with the L'Oreal Infallible Matte Lock Primer.
00:02:50.480 If you want your makeup to stay all day it is important to kind of start off matte because
00:02:55.480 you're going to get sweaty like that's just going to happen.
00:02:58.480 So for me if you start off using really dewy products especially a dewy base like your primer
00:03:03.480 it can stay but it's more rare for it to stay because as you get sweaty and dewy your skin
00:03:10.480 is already dewy and then you're just really really dewy and I just think it's better to
00:03:15.480 start with a matte base that'll stay all day.
00:03:17.480 I really like this primer.
00:03:18.480 It's non comedogenic which means it won't break you out and it also prolongs the longevity
00:03:23.480 of my makeup.
00:03:24.480 Next up I'm going to go in with my foundation.
00:03:26.480 Now I recommend going in with any foundation that you like that you feel like has a good
00:03:31.480 wear time.
00:03:32.480 This is a new one I've never tried.
00:03:33.480 This is the Hydro Boost Hydrating Foundation Stick from Neutrogena.
00:03:37.480 Let me tell you why I wanted to get this.
00:03:39.480 So I have a foundation stick from Wet n Wild which I really really like but I don't know
00:03:45.480 if it breaks me out a little bit and I don't like foundations obviously that break me out.
00:03:49.480 So I use that one kind of rarely sometimes when I really want to look good on camera because
00:03:53.480 it's a great foundation for that but I don't like to use it every day because I don't know
00:03:57.480 if it breaks me out.
00:03:59.480 But using a stick foundation is so fast.
00:04:03.480 I love that it takes me almost no time to get my foundation on my face.
00:04:07.480 So I was looking to see if there was another foundation from the drugstore that was a foundation
00:04:11.480 stick so something that was a little bit more affordable.
00:04:13.480 This is Neutrogena so it's not that affordable but A it's non comedogenic because Neutrogena
00:04:18.480 is really good for your skin no matter what you buy from them.
00:04:20.480 And number two it's hydrating which I do really like and I feel like for an everyday foundation
00:04:25.480 that is great.
00:04:27.480 So we're going to try and see if it looks good.
00:04:29.480 If the rest of my makeup falls apart because of this foundation hopefully that's not what
00:04:33.480 happens.
00:04:34.480 But what I'm going to do is I'm just going to draw this on my face and I'm just going
00:04:40.480 to blend this in with a blending brush.
00:04:53.480 So I'm going to go in with a second layer because that first layer was very light coverage
00:04:59.480 and hopefully I can get just a little bit more coverage this second time.
00:05:08.480 Now what do you guys normally use to blend out your makeup?
00:05:11.480 I'm very curious to know if you use a brush or if you use a sponge or if you use a powder
00:05:19.480 puff.
00:05:20.480 I am curious because I normally use a damp sponge but I've been getting into using brushes
00:05:26.480 a little bit more lately and that's I think part of the reason why I was interested in
00:05:31.480 finding a foundation stick because I really like the feeling of using a brush and I like
00:05:37.480 how fast it goes.
00:05:38.480 Okay so what I'll say about this foundation from my first experience with it is that it
00:05:43.480 is a light coverage foundation that you can build to medium.
00:05:47.480 I wouldn't say this is a full coverage foundation but if you're spending your day outside you
00:05:51.480 might just want to even the skin and not have like a full mask on.
00:05:54.480 So having just that light coverage might be perfect for you.
00:05:58.480 So it really just depends on your taste but I like it so far but it kind of looks like
00:06:02.480 I don't have anything on my skin which I like and it is a little bit dewier which is
00:06:06.480 pretty over a matte primer and will prolong the longevity of your makeup because you have
00:06:11.480 that matte primer and the dewy foundation.
00:06:14.480 But I do have a few blemishes that I want to cover up a little bit more than this so
00:06:18.480 what I'm going to do is I'm going to go in with my L'Oreal Infallible Full Wear Concealer
00:06:24.480 and I'm just going to cover these little spots up.
00:06:31.480 How has everyone's summer been going?
00:06:33.480 I know of course we all have the caveat of the fact that it is COVID and we can't really
00:06:39.480 do as much during the summer as we normally would but I would love to know if you are
00:06:44.480 doing anything fun, if you're spending time with family, if you have a pool.
00:06:48.480 Oh my gosh if you have a pool you are so lucky and I'm jealous.
00:06:52.480 And just if you are trying to enjoy this summer despite the fact that things are just a little bit different this year.
00:07:01.480 I know that I love the summer even though this has been a very different summer for us.
00:07:06.480 I still love that it's summer time that I can go outside for walks.
00:07:10.480 That Jacob and I can spend the evening out and about and I don't have to bring a jacket.
00:07:16.480 That's like my favorite thing ever.
00:07:18.480 And I'm just enjoying and taking in the summer time.
00:07:22.480 I think this is something maybe that's bred in us from the time that we're kids.
00:07:26.480 That summer time is the time for fun because that's when you're off school.
00:07:29.480 And even though as adults we don't get that we still feel that.
00:07:33.480 So I just love summer time.
00:07:36.480 But moving on to the next step I'm going to do my concealer.
00:07:40.480 I'm going to be using this same Charlotte Tilbury concealer that I always do.
00:07:44.480 Because this is just really the only concealer I use right now.
00:07:47.480 And it's really like the only high end product that I have in my collection.
00:07:51.480 So I'm just going to tap that in my dark circles.
00:07:54.480 And what I'm doing is I'm just kind of building up this cream base. 1.00
00:07:58.480 And once we set all this down with powder that's what's going to make it last.
00:08:01.480 If I didn't set this down this wouldn't have the same longevity that I would hope it would.
00:08:06.480 And it wouldn't stand up against that summer heat.
00:08:09.480 Okay so now we're done with the cream products with our base.
00:08:12.480 And so I'm going to set everything down.
00:08:14.480 And setting things down is what is going to make it last.
00:08:17.480 So using a loose powder or using a pressed powder is what's going to give you that longevity.
00:08:23.480 So I'm going in with my number 7 translucent finishing powder triple action.
00:08:28.480 And I have used this in most of my videos lately.
00:08:31.480 I'm just going to go in with that same concealer brush that I use to conceal my blemishes.
00:08:35.480 And I'm just going to go underneath my eyes.
00:08:38.480 And set that down.
00:08:40.480 Because that is for me the first place where I'm going to get creasing from my concealer.
00:08:46.480 As I've said before I'm going to get creasing no matter what I do.
00:08:49.480 So it's not like that's going to change anything.
00:08:51.480 But it does keep it from getting super awful.
00:08:55.480 And so I'm just going to tap that here and on my lids.
00:08:59.480 Just to make sure I don't get creasing on my lids either.
00:09:01.480 And then I'm going to go in with just a big fluffy brush.
00:09:04.480 And I'm going to set down my whole face.
00:09:07.480 Now let's move on to blush, bronzer, and highlight.
00:09:13.480 So I'm going to be bronzing first.
00:09:15.480 Now I'm going to be using a powder bronzer but it's shimmery.
00:09:18.480 When we're out and about and going outside and enjoying the hot weather it's nice and natural to have more of a dewy finish.
00:09:25.480 Now again what I was saying before is that you want to have that matte primer to keep you from looking really sweaty.
00:09:31.480 But the dewy look on your face which can come from powders is something that's going to look very natural in summer.
00:09:37.480 Because it's not natural for your skin to look uber matte.
00:09:40.480 So using a few glimmery shiny products in the summer time is like the best time to do it.
00:09:46.480 And if you're out on a picnic or you're enjoying a day out at the zoo or the park or something that's open.
00:09:52.480 Then you might really enjoy using more of a shimmery bronzer or a shimmery blush.
00:09:56.480 And things that make you look a little bit more dewy naturally.
00:09:59.480 Because like I said in the summer it's more natural for you to be dewy.
00:10:03.480 So I'm going to try this again this is another new product.
00:10:06.480 This is the Essence Pure Nude Sunlighter.
00:10:09.480 And this I'm going to go in with this brush here.
00:10:13.480 And I'm just going to tap into this.
00:10:15.480 Tap off the excess a little bit.
00:10:17.480 And then go in here.
00:10:19.480 And I want it to be a little bit more shiny.
00:10:22.480 I'm not looking for this to be an intense contour because hey it's a day at the park.
00:10:26.480 It's a day where you're hanging out with family and friends.
00:10:29.480 And so you don't need to be really contoured here.
00:10:32.480 It's really more just about having like a pretty summery look.
00:10:37.480 Well this blends beautifully.
00:10:39.480 And this looks actually pretty natural.
00:10:42.480 I think it's really pretty.
00:10:43.480 And I'm just going to put some on the sides of my nose.
00:10:45.480 A little bit just kind of messily here because the sun is going to hit you messily in the summer.
00:10:52.480 Next up I'm going to go in with the blush from Essence again.
00:10:55.480 And this is a really cheap product.
00:10:57.480 It's amazing.
00:10:58.480 And I'm just going to put this right on the apples of my cheeks.
00:11:01.480 And it's okay for you to be a little bit rosier because it's summertime.
00:11:05.480 Your cheeks are going to be rosier in summertime.
00:11:08.480 And that's a nice thing.
00:11:09.480 And then I'm going to go in with my highlighter.
00:11:12.480 So I'm just going to take this highlighter from Wet n Wild.
00:11:15.480 It's the Hello Halo highlighter.
00:11:17.480 And I'm just going to kind of mix these two shades together. 0.89
00:11:19.480 Tap off that excess a little bit.
00:11:21.480 And then go on the high points of my cheeks.
00:11:23.480 And even onto the apples of my cheeks a little bit.
00:11:25.480 Just so that it's, again, that really natural, fun, pretty glow.

00:11:30.480 A little bit on the cupid's bow.
00:11:32.480 Bring some above the eyebrow.
00:11:34.480 Just splash that shimmer everywhere.
00:11:37.480 It's so nice outside.
00:11:39.480 So let's celebrate that with our really shiny, glimmery faces.
00:11:44.480 So now that we've got the skin done, we're going to do the eyes.
00:11:47.480 I want to do something that's pink and pretty.
00:11:50.480 And not too intense because you're going to be with family.
00:11:53.480 You're hanging out.
00:11:54.480 It doesn't have to be a crazy, intense eye look.
00:11:57.480 But just something kind of fun and summery.
00:11:59.480 I'm going to be using this Makeup Revolution Forever Flawless Decadent Collection eyeshadow palette.
00:12:06.480 And I'm just going to go in with some of these shades.
00:12:08.480 So I'm going to zoom you guys in and then I'll show you what I'm doing.
00:12:11.480 Okay, so the first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to go in with the color Sienna here.
00:12:15.480 And I'm going to tap into that on just this kind of fluffy brush.
00:12:19.480 And I'm going to put that in the crease.
00:12:23.480 And sort of just windshield wiper motions and circular motions.
00:12:27.480 And just really blend that.
00:12:29.480 And I'm not trying to be too careful here.
00:12:31.480 It's okay if it looks a little bit messy because we're not going for perfection.
00:12:35.480 Next up I'm going to go in with Lavish.
00:12:39.480 That's this color here.
00:12:41.480 Tap that in the same exact spot just to bring a little bit more pink to the eye look.
00:12:47.480 And now what I'm going to do is I'm going to take this little pencil brush.
00:12:51.480 I'm going to go in with Lavish again.
00:12:53.480 I'm going to bring this into the inner corner of the eye here.
00:12:56.480 Because we're going to do a halo eye today.
00:13:00.480 And I'm just going to take that same shade on the bottom lash line.
00:13:06.480 It's a pretty easy look honestly.
00:13:09.480 We're just using I think three shades, maybe four.
00:13:12.480 And really just kind of like blending it.
00:13:15.480 And then I'm going to take the shade Glimmer here on my finger.
00:13:19.480 And I'm just going to put that right in the center of the eyelid.
00:13:23.480 And the last shade I'm going to use from in here is I'm going to go into Majesty.
00:13:29.480 And I'm going to take this on the inner corner and on the brow bone.
00:13:35.480 Now to finish up the eyes, I'm going to take this Cokie Color Lasting Creamy Eyeshadow. 0.99

00:13:43.480 I'm just going to take that on my finger and I'm just going to put that right on top of that middle portion of the eye.
00:13:50.480 Just to put a little bit of extra sparkle.
00:13:52.480 And before we finish up the eyes, I'm going to do my eyebrows.
00:13:55.480 And then we're going to spray everything down before doing mascara.
00:13:58.480 So to do my eyebrows, I'm going to do what I always do.

00:14:03.480 But I'm just going to fill in any spots on my brows that need a little bit of extra love.
00:14:10.480 Which for me is just right at the top corner.
00:14:16.480 And then bringing it out a little bit.
00:14:22.480 And then I'm just going to hold everything in place with my CoverGirl Easy Breezy Brow.
00:14:29.480 Now to make sure everything really holds, I'm going to be using this Lasting Fix spray from Maybelline.
00:14:35.480 And this is really what's going to make sure that your makeup stays.
00:14:37.480 It's kind of this sandwich effect with the primer and then the spray.
00:14:40.480 And that just kind of keeps your makeup lasting all day, through the sweat, whatever.
00:14:45.480 So we're going to shake that up.
00:14:50.480 I grabbed my little Disney fan. Minis on there.
00:14:53.480 And now I'm going to finish up the eyes by putting on mascara.
00:14:56.480 So before I put on mascara, I have to talk to you guys about this eyelash curler.
00:15:02.480 So this is like a cult favorite. Everybody talks about it.
00:15:05.480 It's the Shiseido eyelash curler.
00:15:07.480 And it is a little bit expensive.
00:15:09.480 But it is amazing.
00:15:11.480 Like it does an incredible job.
00:15:13.480 And there's a reason people talk about this.
00:15:15.480 Because it is so, so good.
00:15:17.480 So the way that I think about kind of the price is that it's $20 around.
00:15:21.480 And if you buy it once, you really don't ever have to replace it.
00:15:24.480 So it's a good purchase rather than like an eyeshadow palette or like a mascara that's $25 and you have to replace it every three months.
00:15:31.480 This is just a one-time purchase.
00:15:33.480 So I love it.
00:15:34.480 And I'm going to show you how great it is.
00:15:36.480 Do you guys see the difference?
00:15:39.480 Like this one is like, and this one is, and for me, my little trick is that I actually curl my eyelashes on one side and apply mascara as soon as I do it before doing the other side.
00:15:51.480 Because I want to make sure that curl stays as long as possible.
00:15:55.480 So now that it's curled, I'm going to apply my Maybelline mascara.
00:15:59.480 If you're the kind of person who sweats so much that wearing a normal mascara might not be the best fit for you, there are two options that you can do to make sure that your mascara lasts.
00:16:08.480 One is to use a waterproof mascara.
00:16:11.480 That could be a solution for you.
00:16:13.480 And then the other is to use a tubing mascara.
00:16:15.480 A tubing mascara won't come off as easily when you sweat.
00:16:18.480 So those are the two options I would recommend if you find that you have a difficult time keeping your mascara on when you're sweating.
00:16:25.480 But if you don't have that issue, I think it's fine for you to just use a normal mascara.
00:16:29.480 The other thing I'll recommend is to avoid lower lash line mascara.
00:16:33.480 Because if you are going to be sweating a lot and your under eye gets sweaty, then that's going to be the first thing that's going to show.
00:16:38.480 So maybe just don't do it if you're going to be going out to a picnic or something.
00:16:42.480 And then you don't have to worry about it.
00:16:46.480 So last but not least is lips.
00:16:48.480 I'm going to be doing a kind of reddish lip today just because I think that'll be a little bit fun.
00:16:52.480 But the best way to keep your lipstick lasting all day is to put on a lip liner first and then to put on a liquid lipstick.
00:16:58.480 And that will definitely last all day, even if you're at the park, even if you're at a picnic, and even if you're sweating.
00:17:03.480 So I'm going to start off by putting on this lip liner.
00:17:10.480 And now I'm going to go in with the lipstick itself.
00:17:12.480 This is the liquid cat suit from Wet n Wild and it is the color behind the bleachers.
00:17:19.480 And that's the finished look.
00:17:21.480 This is exactly what I would wear if I was going to the park on a hot day.
00:17:24.480 Obviously it's a little bit fancy, it's a little bit colorful, but I feel like for summertime I'm totally on board with that.
00:17:31.480 And it's got that really pretty kind of glimmer and gleam, which I like for summertime because it kind of shows how you would be doing naturally.
00:17:38.480 And if this is too many steps for you, feel free to leave out whatever you feel like is just too much.
00:17:43.480 But the three things I would really recommend if you're planning on doing something outside when you're going to be sweating is a primer, a translucent powder, and a setting spray.
00:17:52.480 Those three things will really prolong the longevity of your makeup and make sure that you don't sweat through it.
