00:00:00.000 Hello beautiful ladies and welcome to today's video where I'm going to be showing you how to
00:00:04.560 do this yellow spring makeup. I was really excited when I saw that Jaclyn Hill had come out with her
00:00:15.360 Armed and Gorgeous palette because this is like one of the only affordable palettes that has
00:00:21.580 yellows in it, at least in my opinion that I had noticed. And it's like $15 and the colors are
00:00:27.200 really great and it's just such a springy thing. I feel like people are really afraid of using yellow
00:00:32.420 on their eyes but to me that's so much more wearable than a blue or a green depending on how you wear
00:00:38.480 them. So I was really excited to try this out and I thought that you guys would enjoy it so I figured
00:00:42.800 I'd put it together. Please subscribe to my blog and my channel if you haven't already and let's get
00:00:47.100 started. So I'm going to start with this Boscia Perfecting White Charcoal Mattifying Treatment
00:00:51.960 Primer which I actually used in my discount makeup video and I've been using it ever since and I love
00:00:58.160 it. It makes my skin feel so smooth before I put on foundation and it just gives the right amount
00:01:04.180 of tackiness so that my makeup really does last all day. And as we're moving into summer and it's
00:01:10.900 starting to get hotter out and we're sweating, I think a mattifying primer is really the move because
00:01:16.300 as you guys know I used a glow primer most of the winter and it's just less useful in spring and
00:01:26.560 summer because your skin is just a lot more dewy naturally so I think a mattifying primer is the
00:01:32.920 way. So the next thing that we're going to do is go in with concealer. Now a lot of YouTubers will
00:01:37.280 actually do their foundation and then their concealer. I've really been enjoying going in with
00:01:41.360 my concealer first before my foundation because a lot of YouTubers they actually do foundation first
00:01:47.500 and then concealer but then you have to blend it out and I find it's a little bit more of a stark
00:01:51.580 contrast whereas when you do this first I don't hugely love a super bright under eye area. I think
00:01:59.420 it can look nice when it's just a hint brighter than the rest of the face which is why I like it
00:02:03.040 underneath my foundation rather than over it. So I'm just going to go in with the L'Oreal Infallible
00:02:07.420 full wear. This might be a bit light for me right now but we'll work with it.
00:02:15.660 I'm going to use this little Real Techniques sponge that's made for under your eyes and I
00:02:20.720 love this thing. I thought it was a stupid idea. It was useless like why do I need another sponge
00:02:25.960 but this thing actually makes the biggest difference and makes sure that my concealer
00:02:30.120 doesn't get stuck in the creases under my eyes so you can definitely see that this is much brighter
00:02:47.400 and that's why I actually think it looks better underneath my foundation because if I were to go
00:02:51.660 in with this over my foundation it would just be so stark a difference whereas putting it on
00:02:56.580 underneath my foundation just gives a little bit of that hint of brightness. So now I'm going to go
00:03:00.600 in with my foundation and I'm going to use the L'Oreal Infallible 24 hour fresh wear. I started using
00:03:07.980 this about three weeks ago actually it might even be a month and I love it. I think it's a really good
00:03:13.460 foundation. It makes your skin look flawless and that in combination with my powder which is the
00:03:17.960 Wet n Wild pressed powder photo focus I love this combination. It just makes my skin look really nice
00:03:24.740 and it makes it last all day. So I'm going to use a damp sponge and I'm just going to pounce this in
00:03:29.740 all over the face so the next thing I'm going to do is set down my foundation and my concealer so I
00:03:57.460 actually use two different powders. Of course you don't have to but the under eye area for me
00:04:02.580 always creases so using a pressed powder doesn't really do the job for me. I need to use a more
00:04:08.000 loose powder which is why I use my Bare Minerals mineral veil underneath my eyes and then I use the
00:04:13.280 Wet n Wild photo focus powder all over my face. I could just go in with this but this gives me that
00:04:18.860 little extra coverage that looks really nice and I can actually go in with this on my fingertip and also
00:04:24.120 cover any blemishes that I might have on my skin. I'm going to set my under eye with that same Real
00:04:28.280 Techniques Beauty sponge that's made for under the eyes because I find that it really does help set
00:04:32.500 down that concealer so I don't get greasing. For my face I'm just going to go ahead and use a brush.
00:04:41.260 So now that my face is just a blank canvas and kind of looks flat as a board we're going to bring back
00:04:53.940 all of that dimension. So I'm going to use the Butter Bronzer by Physicians Formula and I'm going to use
00:05:00.320 this little contouring brush by Real Techniques and I'm just going to take this and I'm going to go
00:05:06.540 under my cheekbone like right at the top of the ear and down and just move in like circular motions
00:05:15.320 because the shape of this brush if I were to just drag it I would just get a line and that's not
00:05:21.420 going to look good. So instead I'm going to kind of drag and move in circular motions.
00:05:26.540 Now I'm just going to go underneath my jaw just to give a little bit more definition
00:05:37.020 and then just a little bit around my forehead.
00:05:46.400 Now I'm going to go in with a shimmery bronzer. Some people don't like that but I have the Glow Kit.
00:05:53.420 It's the Gleam Glow Kit by Anastasia and it has this bronzer highlighter which would probably be a
00:06:01.660 great highlighter for deeper skin tones but for me it's kind of more like a bronzer and it's called
00:06:06.420 Mimosa and I go in with a fluffier brush and I just put this on the same places that I put my contour
00:06:15.400 and it'll just kind of give this little glow from within look which I really like especially for spring.
00:06:23.420 If you drag some along your nose it'll make it look like you've got sun kiss.
00:06:35.420 I'm also going to go ahead and contour my nose so I have this fan brush from Real Techniques
00:06:39.420 and I'm just going to go back into the butter bronzer and just go on either side of my nose lightly
00:06:45.420 and right at the bottom.
00:06:51.420 I'm going to go ahead and put on some blush. So this is the Wet n Wild Color Icon Blush in pearlescent pink
00:06:57.420 and I'm just going to hit the apples of my cheeks and a little bit back just kind of swipe it back.
00:07:03.420 It's really nice to have rosy cheeks in spring and summer because that looks natural right?
00:07:08.420 We get a little bit hot, we get a little bit flushed so having those rosy cheeks makes a big difference.
00:07:13.420 And then last but not least for the face I'm going to go in with this setting brush.
00:07:17.420 I'm just going to go into Crushed Pearl and I'm going to put that right on my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose.
00:07:23.420 And we're done with the face!
00:07:33.420 So the next thing that I'm going to do is my eyebrows.
00:07:35.420 So my eyebrows as you can see are pretty full but I do have a few bald patches.
00:07:40.420 So I like to go in with this LA Girl Brow Pomade in Soft Black and I just go in with a little angled brush.
00:07:48.420 I'm just going to fill in those bald patches and then I'm going to set it down.
00:07:52.420 Now I just comb out everything with this little spoolie.
00:08:13.420 And then I go ahead and set everything down.
00:08:19.420 So now I'm just going to put on my lipstick and then we'll do my eye makeup.
00:08:23.420 So I'm using the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Bitch Perfect and I'm just going to apply this straight from the bullet.
00:08:31.420 And now for the showstopper of this look which is this palette by Jaclyn Hill and Morphe.
00:08:39.420 And this is the eyeshadow palette in Armed and Gorgeous and it has all of these really bright yellows which I love.
00:08:48.420 I think it's a really fun color to play with for spring.
00:08:51.420 I think I tend to get into sort of a rut of wanting to use a lot of pinks and a lot of warm tones.
00:08:56.420 But like yellow is something that I think is most appropriate for spring and summer and looks really fun on the eyes.
00:09:03.420 And I know it can be scary but I'm going to show you how to wear this color on the eyes without it looking crazy.
00:09:09.420 So I zoomed you guys in a bit so that we can do my eye makeup.
00:09:12.420 And we're going to start off by using the color Act.
00:09:16.420 So that's this bright yellow shade here.
00:09:18.420 I'm going to use a big fluffy brush and I'm just going to start on the outer edge of my eye.
00:09:23.420 I'm going to tap off the excess.
00:09:25.420 And I'm just putting this on as a wash of color.
00:09:28.420 So I don't want it to be too heavy right at the beginning.
00:09:32.420 I really just want this tint of yellow to cover my crease, right?
00:09:37.420 So the crease is the part where the lid meets the top of the eye.
00:09:41.420 It's right in between.
00:09:42.420 And I'm just going to put this here and set this down.
00:09:46.420 And I'm going to do that on the other eye the same exact way.
00:09:55.420 I'm just going to imitate each step I do underneath my eye at the same time.
00:09:59.420 So I'm going to take this little brush.
00:10:01.420 It's kind of like a flat shader brush and it's short.
00:10:04.420 And I'm going to take the same color and I'm just going to go right underneath the bottom lashes.
00:10:12.420 So the next thing that I'm going to do is I'm going to take a slightly smaller brush.
00:10:15.420 And this one is a little bit more flat, if you can see, rather than just round and fluffy.
00:10:20.420 And I'm going to take the color Agent, which is this color here.
00:10:26.420 And it's an orange color.
00:10:28.420 So I'm just going to take that here and I'm going to just stamp this on the outer view of the eye.
00:10:33.420 And I'm dragging it into the crease.
00:10:37.420 Now I don't want to lose that yellow, so I'm going to go back in with the first brush I used and go back into the yellow shade.
00:10:51.420 And just blend that out.
00:10:52.420 Now I'm going to put that orange shade on the bottom lash line.
00:11:03.420 The next thing I'm going to do is with an even smaller brush, I'm going to go into Smooth Criminal, which is this kind of lighter, warm brown.
00:11:10.420 And I'm just going to put this right in the outer view.
00:11:13.420 I'm not going to bring this in very far at all.
00:11:15.420 I don't want this to be a really, really smoky eye because I'm not trying to make this into a super intense evening look.
00:11:20.420 But it is going to have a little bit of that smoky kind of idea, right?
00:11:26.420 Because I'm going to have an outer edge that is a little bit darker than the inner edge.
00:11:31.420 Now I'm just going to put this on the lower lash line, but I'm just going to keep it on the outer edge.
00:11:39.420 I'm not going to drag this all the way in.
00:11:42.420 The next thing I'm going to do is go in with this shade Guilt Trick, which is a true gold and it's really beautiful on the eye.
00:11:49.420 So I'm going to use it on a brush first, just so that I have an outline of where it's going to go.
00:11:54.420 But that's not going to give it its full potential, its full color payoff, because then I'm going to go in with my fingertip.
00:11:59.420 And that will deepen everything up.
00:12:01.420 So the way I'm going to apply this is just put this on the lid.
00:12:04.420 But I'm only going to bring it three quarters of the way out.
00:12:09.420 I'm not going to bring it all across the lid.
00:12:24.420 Now I'm going to go into VIP with a pencil brush.
00:12:27.420 I'm just going to put this into my inner corner.
00:12:33.420 And that is it for the eye shadow.
00:12:35.420 So now I'm going to go in with a little bit of liner.
00:12:44.420 Now I'm going for my lashes.
00:12:45.420 So I'm just going to use this one from Beauty 360, which I think is the CVS brand.
00:12:52.420 And I'm just going to throw some mascara on my top and my bottom lashes.
00:12:59.420 And that is the finished look.
