Dale Partridge - Romans 1_26-27： Homosexuality： The Sum of Self-Worship

00:00:00.000 In this episode of Real Christianity, I continue my teaching through the Book of Romans, but today

00:00:04.700 is a unique episode. Today I'm going to be teaching on the Bible's central passage regarding

00:00:09.520 homosexuality. This issue, as you know, is plaguing the modern church. So stay tuned to

00:00:14.960 hear what scripture has to say about how Christians should respond and engage with

00:00:18.840 the LGBTQ community. All that and more coming up right now.

00:00:30.000 Welcome to Real Christianity. My name is Dale Partridge.

00:00:43.940 Today's episode is titled, Homosexuality, the Sum of Self-Worship.

00:00:48.880 Now, as you know, this show has been an audio ministry and video ministry of relearn.org.

00:01:09.780 Now, in light of today's conversation, I did want to quickly mention two things. 0.97

00:01:13.880 First, we have a man problem in the West.

00:01:17.940 Namely, we have forgotten what it means to be a man.

00:01:20.560 And it's my belief that the only way to restore biblical manhood is to learn about the manliness

00:01:27.240 of Christ. And that's why I wrote my new book, The Manliness of Christ. The subtitle is How the

00:01:34.580 Masculinity of Jesus Eradicates Effeminate Christianity. You can get copies for yourself 0.95

00:01:39.940 or your men's group at our website by going to relearn.org forward slash man. Again, that's

00:01:45.880 relearn.org forward slash man. So for today, we are going to be talking about Romans chapter 1

00:01:54.940 verses 26 through 27. Last week, we went through Romans 1 24 through 25, and we learned what God

00:02:04.040 does with atheists. We learned the idea of humanity rejecting God, and that there's no 0.93

00:02:10.420 excuse for atheism. The text told us that those who deny God, they are not seeing God in creation.

00:02:18.160 They're redirecting their impulse to worship toward idols. They are exchanging the truth of

00:02:23.880 God and the glory of God for lies. And number four, they're worshiping the creature rather

00:02:30.160 than serving the creator. This was the context, again, about 18 through 24. And as a result,

00:02:37.500 what God says in the scriptures is that he hands them over to their sinful desires.

00:02:42.920 God handed them over. In fact, verse 24 says that God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts

00:02:49.960 to impurity so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. In other words, we learn

00:02:56.100 that atheism and the misdirection of worship toward the creature instead of the creator

00:03:01.760 results in God's grace withdrawing from someone's life. And that withdrawing basically results in

00:03:09.760 unrestrained desire for sin. It's a searing of the conscience. It's a pulling back of common grace,

00:03:16.060 and it manifests itself in sexual immorality. That's what happens when we worship idols,

00:03:22.640 when we reject God that we see in creation. God hands us over to our sin. It manifests itself

00:03:28.960 in God withdrawing his common grace, the conviction of the conscience, and it results in sexual

00:03:35.100 immorality. It results in this desire for self-pleasure and an unrestrained desire or

00:03:42.360 unrestrained path toward sinful behavior. Today in verses 26 through 27, we're going to see the

00:03:48.900 full extent of that manifestation. We're going to see exactly how far sexual depravity and

00:03:54.860 deviation can go, and ultimately what occurs as a result of God's absence in a person's life.

00:04:02.360 So let's go ahead. We're going to read Romans 1, 18 through 27. I want you guys to grasp the entire

00:04:07.100 concept or context here. And so this is going to be a good chunk of scripture, but go ahead and

00:04:12.160 just follow along as I read here. I'm going to be reading in the NASB, the 1995 edition. Verse 18,

00:04:18.200 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of

00:04:23.740 men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness because that which is known about God is evident

00:04:29.700 within them. For God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world, his invisible

00:04:35.000 attributes, his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood through

00:04:41.480 what has been made so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor

00:04:46.940 him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations and their foolish hearts 0.98

00:04:53.640 were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible 1.00

00:04:59.280 God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and of four-footed animals and 1.00

00:05:04.540 crawling creatures. Therefore, God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity so that

00:05:10.620 their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie

00:05:15.240 and worshiped and served the creature rather than the creator who is blessed forever. Amen.

00:05:20.320 For this reason, God gave them over to degrading passions. 1.00

00:05:26.300 For their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural. 1.00

00:05:30.620 And in the same way, also, the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned 0.92

00:05:35.720 in their desire toward one another, men with men, committing indecent acts and receiving

00:05:41.440 in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

00:05:44.820 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved

00:05:51.640 mind to do the things which are not proper. Wow, what a passage of scripture. This is an extensive

00:05:58.920 overview of exactly what happens when someone rejects God, walks in an atheistic attitude,

00:06:07.520 worships self, worships the creature rather than the creator. This is God pulling away,

00:06:13.220 handing them over to depraved passions, sexual immorality, the common grace of the Lord pulls

00:06:21.080 back. So in today's passage, we're going to be really working through three main clauses

00:06:27.020 in the text. And those clauses are, number one, God gave them over to degrading passions.

00:06:33.960 That's kind of the main banner of the first section in 26. God gave them over to degrading

00:06:39.940 passions. Number two is their women exchanged the natural for the unnatural. And number three is 1.00

00:06:47.860 the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned with lust toward another. So

00:06:53.840 those toward one another, actually, I should say there. There's basically those three main clauses

00:06:59.560 that we're going to be dealing with. Verse 26, let's just go from the beginning here, and we're

00:07:03.360 going to go verse by verse, break it down. It says, for this reason, God gave them over to degrading

00:07:08.620 passions for their women, exchange the natural function for that which is unnatural. Now the 0.96

00:07:14.580 word for this reason is a result clause. Paul could have said as a result, as a result, God

00:07:21.240 gave them over to degrading passions. For that reason, we want to see the connection of this

00:07:27.580 statement in verse 26 with the previous statement in verses 25 and 24. So Paul is saying that their

00:07:34.080 rejection of God that manifested in sexual immorality, you know, so that they would be

00:07:39.340 handed over to a dishonoring of their bodies, as it said in verse 25, resulted in God giving them

00:07:44.500 over to degrading passions. And what we have to see here is this cascading severity of self-appointed

00:07:54.080 afflictions. Okay, I'm going to say that again, a cascading severity of self-appointed afflictions

00:08:00.340 that God continues to hand them over because of this.

00:08:03.560 And because of that, God hands them over.

00:08:05.500 And because of that, God hands them over.

00:08:07.260 And it gets deeper and darker and deeper and darker.

00:08:09.760 So God permits these things to occur

00:08:12.800 as a result of the rejection of him and their idolatry.

00:08:16.880 Now, when you read this whole section of chapter one,

00:08:19.860 you start to see that God makes this statement,

00:08:22.560 God gave them over, God gave them over,

00:08:25.040 God gave them over three times in this section.

00:08:28.300 The first time is in chapter 1, verses 24, where it says, quote, God gave them over to

00:08:33.760 the lusts of their hearts to impurity.

00:08:36.320 The second time is in verse 127, where it says God gave them over to degrading passions.

00:08:43.160 And then the third time is in verse 28, which is the next sermon that we'll be talking about,

00:08:47.820 but we'll talk about it here for a second, is 128, and it says God gave them over to

00:08:52.680 a depraved mind.

00:08:54.140 And so when we reject God and we direct our worship to the creature rather than the creator

00:08:59.460 toward idols, God draws back from a person's life, permitting their sin to overtake their lives,

00:09:05.760 basically to rule their hearts. Basically, he removes his grace from their lives. And as a

00:09:11.680 result, he hands over their hearts to passions and their minds to sins. That's essentially what

00:09:19.820 happens here. In other words, when a person rejects God, God exits their life, allowing their

00:09:25.780 fallen desires to dominate their affections. Okay. I want you to grasp that. When God, when a person

00:09:32.400 rejects God, God exits their life, allowing their fallen desires to dominate their affections.

00:09:39.500 And as a result, sexual deviance takes roots. It distorts their life. It distorts their

00:09:44.520 understanding of God. It rules their hearts. It eliminates the opportunity for true joy

00:09:49.260 and leaves them on an unrestrained path toward hell.

00:09:52.500 That's exactly what happens

00:09:54.040 in the midst of atheistic desires or idolatry.

00:10:00.140 And so let's just get back to our verse here

00:10:02.480 where it says God gave them over to degrading passions.

00:10:05.560 This is the moral description

00:10:08.420 of the behaviors to follow in the text, right?

00:10:13.040 God gave them over to degrading passions

00:10:15.040 and this passage is basically gonna explain

00:10:17.860 what those degrading passions are. Degrading passions are like the banner that rides above

00:10:24.880 or flies above these descriptive actions and behaviors below. And so I want to just first

00:10:33.640 talk about what degrading means. The word degrading in the Webster's Dictionary is defined

00:10:39.720 as a cause of a loss of self-respect or humiliating. This is actually translated in the ESV

00:10:48.100 as dishonoring. The New King James translates this word as vile. So these are dishonoring

00:10:54.460 passions. These are vile passions. This is something that we are seeing is not a positive

00:11:00.220 thing. So the description of these behaviors is not good. Therefore, we want to understand what

00:11:06.900 are these degrading, dishonorable, and vile passions. And so he goes on to identify them

00:11:15.520 with specificity and what these passions are. So he lists two sex or two specific sexual

00:11:22.560 manifestations, one for the woman and one for the man. And we're going to talk about each of

00:11:28.160 these in detail, but let's just first look at what scripture says is the object again of these

00:11:32.640 degrading, dishonoring, and vile passions. So number one, this is the first one to the women 0.97

00:11:38.780 and the second one to the men. The first one is, for their women exchanged the natural function 0.99

00:11:44.120 for that which is unnatural. And in the same way also, number two, the men abandoned the natural 0.96

00:11:49.460 function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another. Okay, these are the degrading,

00:11:58.800 dishonorable, and vile passions that God has handed them over. They have manifested themselves,

00:12:04.280 and clearly what Paul is talking about is homosexuality. And so, as we know, homosexuality 0.94

00:12:09.820 is a sin that permeates our modern culture, that's confronting the church aggressively,

00:12:15.560 and I believe it's important that we understand what the Bible's perspective is on this matter

00:12:20.860 of the perversion of sexual relations. So, first, to be clear, this isn't a new position in

00:12:26.680 scripture. Homosexuality has been forbidden by God since the very beginning of the Old Testament. 0.82

00:12:33.260 We go back even to Leviticus 18.22. It says, quote, you shall not lie with a male as with a woman. 0.99

00:12:40.560 It is an abomination. That word abomination is one of the strongest words in scripture. 0.88

00:12:45.960 It's almost hard to translate how intense that verbiage is, but it says you shall not lie with 0.69

00:12:53.780 a male as with a woman. It is an abomination. 1 Corinthians 6, 9 through 10 says, or do you not 1.00

00:13:03.280 know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the

00:13:11.180 sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, 0.99

00:13:17.780 nor greedy, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom 0.99

00:13:23.060 of God, end quote. 1 Timothy 1.10, the sexually immoral, quote, or comma, men who practice

00:13:30.800 homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound 0.90

00:13:37.100 doctrine. Homosexuality is forbidden cover to back cover in scripture. Kevin DeYoung, 0.99

00:13:45.060 in his book, Homosexuality, writes, quote, from the first chapters of the Bible to the Torah,

00:13:49.820 to the New Testament, there is no hint that homosexuality is acceptable behavior for God's

00:13:56.560 people. To think the Bible affirms homosexuality takes more than special pleading. It requires a

00:14:03.680 denial of the plain teaching of scripture, end quote. Okay, guys, just, there's just a firm

00:14:12.920 evidence, ultimate clarity when you look at the historical, cultural, grammatical context

00:14:18.960 of homosexuality. There is no possible way that you can twist and do theological gymnastics

00:14:25.520 to make homosexuality an accepted act for the Christian life. Now, second, this passage uses

00:14:32.140 several words to describe the Bible's view of homosexuality. And I want to talk about this

00:14:38.340 because these words help us bring color and comprehension to the descriptors that God uses

00:14:45.500 to identify homosexuality, and those words will help us understand how intense the scriptures

00:14:52.200 are against homosexuality. First, homosexuality is, quote, under the banner of degrading,

00:14:57.980 dishonorable, and vile. We know that already. We read that. That's the banner above it. 1.00

00:15:02.980 Second, it's described as unnatural. The ESV describes that as contrary to nature.

00:15:09.040 Third, it's described as an abandonment of the natural function of the human body.

00:15:14.640 So it's a biological perversion, essentially, is what we're seeing there.

00:15:19.680 Fourth, it's described as indecent or shameless, depending on which translation you're looking at.

00:15:26.640 Fifth, it's described as deserving of penalty.

00:15:30.800 This is something that is unrighteous, that is deserving of penalty.

00:15:35.320 Sixth, it's described as error.

00:15:37.660 It's not according to sound doctrine.

00:15:40.020 It's error.

00:15:41.060 It's away from the way that God wants us to live.

00:15:43.400 It's away from the way that God has designed the human body to work.

00:15:47.140 And seventh, it's described as not proper.

00:15:50.320 There is no way that you can twist this in to being a positive thing in scripture.

00:15:57.620 It's absolutely impossible.

00:15:59.780 Now, again, I don't want you to see this text in isolation. 0.53

00:16:03.780 Homosexuality is not simply some ridiculous divine rule from God against humanity to prevent

00:16:10.280 them from doing what they want. 0.98

00:16:11.400 That's not what homosexuality is. 0.92

00:16:12.900 Now, homosexuality, according to Romans 1, is, number one, a prime result of godlessness. 0.72

00:16:19.840 Number two, it's the ultimate physical and emotional outcome of a person who rejects God and worships self. 0.90

00:16:28.400 Number three, homosexuality is one of the central manifestations of God's grace being removed from a person's life for their atheism and idolatry. 0.82

00:16:39.800 Number four, and this is my final point, is that homosexuality is the consequence of giving the 0.90

00:16:47.520 worship and servitude that is due to God to idols or to self. And so, in other words, homosexuality 0.92

00:16:53.580 is the breaking of God's design for human fruitfulness. That's really what we're going to 1.00

00:16:59.180 get to at the core of this message. John Piper once described it this way, and I want you to

00:17:04.340 pay attention. This is a little bit of a heavy quote, and I need you to kind of stay along with

00:17:08.740 me because there's some big language here and I'll take it slow, but I want you to grasp this

00:17:12.620 because we're going to unpack it here shortly. He says, quote, God and humanity in covenant worship

00:17:18.860 are represented by male and female in covenant sexual union. Therefore, when humanity turns

00:17:28.380 from God to worship self, God hands us over to what we have chosen and dramatizes it by male 0.56

00:17:37.740 and female turning to images of themselves for sexual union, namely their own sex. 0.94

00:17:44.320 Homosexuality is the judgment of God, dramatizing the exchange of the glory of God for images of 0.89

00:17:51.260 ourselves. Did you guys grasp that? That is a magnificent explanation of the theological 1.00

00:17:59.440 and the spiritual complexities of homosexuality. We have to understand that God is a God of 0.98

00:18:06.300 symbolism. We learn about God through symbolic means. I'll explain what I mean there. He knows

00:18:15.620 that we are a forgetful people, and he's built in physical practices or physical symbols to remind

00:18:21.620 humanity of spiritual truths or our spiritual roles. In scripture, husbands and wives represent

00:18:28.240 Christ and the church. You know, it's the earthly role play, if you will, of the heavenly realities

00:18:38.420 of the gospel. That's what marriage becomes in a male and female traditional heterosexual view of 0.76

00:18:44.940 marriage. Ephesians 5, 22 through 30 tells us that husbands are to love their wives as Christ loved

00:18:49.800 the church, and wives are to submit to their husbands as the church submits to Christ. And so

00:18:56.140 when this occurs physically in our lives, we more fully understand the beauty of the gospel. When we

00:19:01.440 see this and it plays out, it manifests in a physical dimension, we get to understand the

00:19:06.560 spiritual realities. So again, God's given us these physical roles that teach us spiritual truths.

00:19:11.900 It's a symbolic meaning there that we understand that represents the gospel. So when marriage is

00:19:17.820 ordered according to God, according to the way that he has laid out in scripture, humanity can

00:19:24.300 fulfill God's command to be fruitful and multiply. However, when humanity rejects God's purpose for

00:19:29.600 marriage and the design and structure for male and female relationships, uh, and, and people pursue

00:19:35.160 self, God hands these people over to themselves. Now, essentially what the Bible teaches here is

00:19:41.620 that in a sense, God's saying, you want to worship God, I'll put you in a relationship that magnifies

00:19:47.640 the gospel. But if you want to worship self, I'm going to put you in a relationship that magnifies

00:19:52.960 self-worship. It's essentially what is being said by here and also by John Piper. In short,

00:19:59.880 homosexuality is the ultimate expression of sin-centered self-love. It's the ultimate 1.00

00:20:05.160 expression. Do you understand that? It denies God's design for otherness. It denies God's design

00:20:12.500 for the male and female compatibility. And instead, what it does is it chooses to magnify

00:20:18.860 the selfish passion of, quote, more me. And it says to their partner in a homosexual relationship,

00:20:26.220 I don't want the opposite of me. I want more of me in you. And that's really what's happening.

00:20:32.220 It's dramatized selfishness. As Piper said, it's the perversion of the natural order.

00:20:36.980 It's suicide of reproduction and the rejection of the spiritual purpose that God has placed

00:20:42.560 for divine or for intimate love in marriage. It's much more than what the culture has made it out 0.54

00:20:49.440 to be. It's much more than a sexual deviation. There is so much thick theological depth here

00:20:56.180 that we need to understand. So catch this with me. The marital drama that's played out between

00:21:02.060 a husband and a wife that's supposed to magnify the divine love that is seen and captured and 0.98

00:21:09.200 experienced in the gospel between God and his people has now been perverted in homosexuality. 0.92

00:21:15.760 Okay, in the same way that God shows us the beauty of the gospel through heterosexual marriage, 0.94

00:21:21.320 God in his judgment shows us the vileness of self-worship through homosexual union. 0.91

00:21:27.340 It's a very deep and complex topic here, but this is what Romans 1 is talking about. 1.00

00:21:32.560 So when we exchange the way of God for the way of self, again, God dramatizes our desire for self.

00:21:38.260 he gives us more of it in someone else. He gives us more of it in our own selfish desires.

00:21:44.360 Piper says, quote, God decrees that this disordering of our relationship to him

00:21:50.120 be dramatized in the disordering of our sexual relations with each other, end quote. Okay,

00:21:57.620 so homosexuality, it's just, again, it's much more than a dysfunctional sexual orientation 0.67

00:22:02.600 between two people. It's the physical manifestation of self-worship. In context with our passage 0.81

00:22:09.280 in Romans, it's the ultimate physical result of turning away from God. That's what this passage

00:22:15.460 is saying. You want to reject God in creation. You want to reject God in your desire to worship

00:22:21.060 idols and worship self. God is going to pull back. He's going to hand you over to these

00:22:24.680 sexual impure desires, and that's going to further be handed over to a degrading passion. 0.99

00:22:31.240 that degrading passion will manifest itself in homosexuality. That homosexuality will manifest 0.99

00:22:36.280 itself in a depraved mind. And it just goes down in this, again, self-appointed, self-afflicted 0.99

00:22:42.280 problems of sin. And so it's a very complex issue that we need to pay attention here.

00:22:48.040 In an issue of Table Talk magazine produced by Ligonier Ministries, one theologian said,

00:22:53.080 quote, what are we to think of a passage like Romans 1, 26 through 27? The Bible defines

00:22:59.840 homosexual desires as, quote, contrary to nature, not an equal alternative orientation. 0.89

00:23:06.260 Homosexuality is a, quote, dishonorable passion that, quote, consumes men and women, leading to 0.96

00:23:12.840 shameless behavior. The strong emotional pull of lust and the affection shared between persons 0.99

00:23:19.880 in a homosexual relationship, whatever those affections may be called, cannot properly be

00:23:25.400 called, quote, love. After all, love, quote, does not rejoice at wrongdoing, 1 Corinthians 13, 6,

00:23:34.480 and homosexuality is wrongdoing, end quote. This is complex and powerful stuff for the church to

00:23:41.520 understand. So now, having said all of that, having said that, I want to be very clear here.

00:23:47.440 I am no greater or wiser or better than any single person in the LGBTQ community whatsoever.

00:23:55.400 I'm simply redeemed. I've simply been saved. I'm not redeemed because of anything that I did.

00:24:01.240 I'm not redeemed because of anything that I chose. I'm not redeemed for any of that besides the

00:24:05.540 simple fact I'm redeemed because someone decided to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with me.

00:24:11.300 I was convicted of my sin. I repented of my sin and I trust in Jesus Christ alone. And so I was

00:24:18.640 just like every human being that was born in sin and lost. I needed to be born again. I was an

00:24:25.380 enemy of God, but now I'm his son. I was addicted and broken and lost, but now I'm found. I'm found

00:24:32.940 because Christ found me. The sheep don't look for the shepherd. The shepherd looks for the sheep.

00:24:38.340 So every human being, as I said, is born sinful and lost. And it's why Jesus in John 3, 3 commands

00:24:44.860 that we must all be born again. If you want to enter into the kingdom of heaven, we must be born

00:24:49.540 again. So many people in the homosexual community say, I was born that way. I go, yes, I understand 0.96

00:24:54.140 you were born that way. You were born that way with these dishonorable and broken desires.

00:24:59.480 I was born that way with dishonorable and broken desires, and that's why we must be born again. So

00:25:04.800 again, whether you are living a homosexual lifestyle, if you're gay, lesbian, transgender,

00:25:10.180 whatever that may be, what I would just suggest you to do is come to Christ, lay your pride at

00:25:16.200 the foot of the cross, repent of your sins, and believe in Jesus Christ. This is something that

00:25:22.940 we all need to be considering. So we need to work on exchanging our desire to serve self to serve

00:25:30.160 the creator. That is exactly at the core of the gospel. We need to be seeing that our desires for

00:25:35.700 self are wicked against a holy God. Our worship is only due to the creator. The only reason we

00:25:42.220 have that impulse to worship in us is because God has given it to us to maintain our relationship

00:25:47.720 with him. Now, this is the message of scripture. This is what scripture teaches on the issue of

00:25:52.760 homosexuality. It's not difficult to understand, but it is difficult to swallow. When we are

00:25:59.140 fallen, when we are lost, we don't have the understanding, the Holy Spirit guiding us

00:26:03.160 and giving us comprehension of scripture. These are offensive statements. This is hate speech to

00:26:08.620 the culture. Nevertheless, the only way that God saves people is faith comes by hearing,

00:26:13.380 hearing by the word of Christ. We need to get out there, preach the gospel of Jesus Christ

00:26:17.080 to individuals in the LGBTQ community. Let them know that God is in the business of turning his 1.00

00:26:22.480 enemies into his friends. And we know that God loves saving people, giving them that new birth,

00:26:29.000 changing those affections, changing those passions. We know that Jesus, when he comes and rescues a

00:26:33.860 life, doesn't just change what we do. He changes also what we want to do. He changes those

00:26:39.140 affections. That's exactly what needs to occur with those people who are struggling with the

00:26:43.680 sin of homosexuality. On that note, thank you guys for listening to this episode. Let me close in 0.81

00:26:48.400 prayer. And then I'll close with just a quick message. Father, we thank you, Lord, for your

00:26:53.040 word. We thank you that you have not left us with no clarity. We thank you that we're not here

00:26:58.680 guessing what you want us to do and how you want us to live. We thank you for this passage of

00:27:03.860 scripture that is stern and clear and gives us boundaries on how we can honor you with our

00:27:09.440 sexuality and how we can honor you with our worship. Lord, we ask that anybody who's listening

00:27:14.040 to this right now, whether by video, whether by podcast, Lord, that you would bless them with the

00:27:18.280 wisdom of understanding. Anybody that's struggling with these sins, that you would bring conviction,

00:27:22.700 that you would give them the new birth, that you would save them and rescue them and bring them

00:27:26.820 into your kingdom, Father. In Jesus' name, amen. Amen, guys. Well, thank you guys for listening

00:27:32.840 to this episode of Real Christianity. I hope today's content was edifying for you in your

00:27:37.480 walk with Christ. That is the goal here at relearn.org, is to bring Christians back to the

00:27:42.640 Bible, to look at the scriptures, not through the lens of our emotions, but to look at it through the

00:27:47.060 historical, cultural, grammatical context of the scriptures, and to really bring you back to a

00:27:52.880 journey of biblical truth and sound doctrine. Lastly, I'd like to ask you guys, would you

00:27:57.980 prayerfully consider supporting us? We are a ministry that is passionate about the gospel.

00:28:04.420 We're passionate about theological and biblical literacy in the church. All of this stuff,

00:28:10.140 this set, everything that we're doing here, it's not cheap. And having the people that do the

00:28:14.940 editing and do the motion graphics and do the recording and buying the equipment and funding

00:28:19.640 the other projects and writing different books, all those things cost a significant amount of

00:28:24.280 money. And we really rely on completely on our donors. And so if you're interested in supporting

00:28:30.240 us, again, you can always do that at relearn.org forward slash donate. Again, that's relearn.org

00:28:36.320 forward slash donate. Again, my name is Dale Partridge. Thank you for listening to this
