00:00:00.000What's up everybody, it's Dan here and today I want to talk about how to get
00:00:04.500anything you want in life. Sounds crazy, trust me this is not a get rich quick
00:00:09.960scheme but it's this really simple technique that I've been using to be
00:00:14.640able to approach anybody, get investors, business partnerships, hire amazing
00:00:20.100world-class employees and I was recently talking to my friend about he was trying
00:00:24.120to hire CEO for his business and he asked me my thoughts on how I should
00:00:27.840approach it? Should I hire a recruiter, an executive recruiter? And I walked him through
00:00:31.920this process and he was like, wow, I've never heard anybody explain it like this. You got
00:00:37.260to tell people. So this is what I'm doing today and it's called Ask for Advice, Get
00:00:41.980Anything. You may have heard the quote that says, ask for money, get advice. Ask for advice,
00:00:48.160get money. This applies to everything from recruiting to partnerships to key employees.
00:00:54.340So the way I look at it is no matter who I'm trying to engage with, the best approach, the best circumstance or situation that I could kind of kick off a new relationship with that person is to get their thoughts on something.
00:01:08.500And it doesn't matter if I'm trying to hire them or raise money or whatever.
00:01:13.220You want to get the scenario that somebody introduced us, I'm reaching out to get advice on this really interesting challenge that I'm working on and I'd love to get your thoughts.
00:01:21.600everybody loves to give their advice. I mean, look at me here doing this. It's the thing that people
00:01:27.980love. So, you know, if I'm trying to recruit somebody that's amazing, I'll say, hey, I'm
00:01:32.940working on this really interesting role or this challenge in our business. I heard you're one of
00:01:37.380the best people in the world. A friend of mine recommended you. Do you mind spending 15 minutes
00:01:41.420on a phone call to kind of talk through my thoughts on how I would approach this problem?
00:01:45.960Now, when you're on that phone call, you're trying to get them engaged with the problem.
00:01:50.960So, explain to them where you're going.
