The one thing I saw him do that changed my whole life was this: He has breakfast with his executive assistant, Helen, every morning. She does all the demands on Richard that come through email and other requests, they don t go to him. She answers them. And over breakfast, she only presents to him the things that she doesn t know how he would want to handle. He gives her some thoughts and feedbacks. She runs with it. He comes ski with us all day. She works to move and route all that forward. If you don t have an executive assistant you actually do suck. You're overpaid and you're not good at your job.
