00:00:00.000 I'm going to share with you the 15 laws of success.
00:00:03.100 These laws are what make the top 0.001% of people successful.
00:00:08.760 Some of these laws are what I used to make my first million dollars at 27 years old.
00:00:13.180 And others are from what I observed rubbing shoulders with some of the richest men in history.
00:00:18.540 So without further explaining it, these are the 15 laws of success.
00:00:22.400 The first law of success is to have an aim.
00:00:25.220 Napoleon Hill talks about this in Think and Grow Rich.
00:00:27.440 He says, have a primary aim.
00:00:29.000 If you don't know where you're going, then any road will get you there.
00:00:32.180 You don't create success.
00:00:33.920 We attract success.
00:00:35.280 So we have to become an attractive character, which requires us to believe in creating this
00:00:41.440 future, to have an aim of what we want to accomplish.
00:00:44.560 So I have this simple framework that I call the speed to attract.
00:00:48.360 Essentially, there's three parts.
00:00:49.960 If you have 100% clarity for what you want to create, the aim, and then you have 100%
00:00:55.440 belief in achieving that outcome and you believe that a hundred percent of the time then those
00:01:00.900 three things will dictate how fast you can attract that future into your current reality most people
00:01:06.720 don't want to call their shot because if they say out loud or to themselves something they want to
00:01:11.820 achieve and then they don't achieve it then they're going to feel bad about it so it's better to not
00:01:15.620 even say anything and i hope that someday somehow this works out and then if it happens great if it
00:01:21.040 doesn't then they don't feel bad problem with that is not believing not focusing not having a
00:01:26.500 destination means that you can go all over the place zigzag to the left to the right and all
00:01:30.900 the way back to eventually potentially get there it just will take you 25 years instead of three
00:01:36.480 to five that's how important having a primary aim is which brings us to the second law which is to
00:01:41.600 believe in your ability see i've read over a hundred plus biographies of some of the wealthiest
00:01:46.720 most successful people from across history from the bezos to the kobe bryans to the brady's to
00:01:52.000 the elons and all of them have this ability to hold a crazy vision until it becomes true see the
00:01:57.760 way to do it is you have to know where you want to go and believe it by going into that place and
00:02:03.120 being in that energy like a character in a movie if you have a hard time going and visualizing it
00:02:08.080 just pretend like you're making up this future in your mind and go into that place of achievement
00:02:13.120 after you've gotten there and act as if it's true truly close your eyes
00:02:19.600 see it imagine you've already achieved it how does that feel if all of a sudden you woke up
00:02:24.960 and you looked at your bank account there's 20 million dollars in there taxes already paid and
00:02:29.760 you don't owe it back to anybody how would you feel think about it look at yourself in that
00:02:35.040 situation looking at your phone 20 million dollars in your bank account look at it from different
00:02:39.520 angle see sometimes it's not just about you and the first person go and imagine there's a camera
00:02:44.560 in the room watching you imagine that somebody changed the angles all of a sudden now you're
00:02:49.280 gonna pull out your phone fast you're gonna pull it out slow i really want you to be in that space
00:02:54.720 play some music in the background what music would be playing when you're checking your bank account
00:02:59.280 what would the level of detail look like can you tell me what phone you're looking at your bank
00:03:04.160 account through it's that level of specificity of reality that you need to be able to visualize
00:03:10.480 to get into the energetic space for you to actually create that belief of it happening
00:03:16.320 so you'll never achieve a future that you can't first see in the mind when i learned to skateboard
00:03:20.880 i saw the kickflip 10 000 times before i ever landed the kickflip i thought about it in class
00:03:26.800 i thought about it after school i thought about it on weekends thought about it every time i went
00:03:30.640 to attempt it and it took a really long time to go from trying to click my board on the ground to
00:03:35.040 eventually an ollie to eventually a kickflip and then eventually landing it it took a lot of
00:03:40.000 visualization a lot of belief but it required me to actually close my eyes and see myself doing it
00:03:45.600 and this is how we create and be successful in life which brings us to the third law which is
00:03:50.240 to have a positive mental attitude see most of us are really good at visualizing the negative if you
00:03:55.680 ask somebody what they want out of life and they're like i can't really tell you what i want
00:03:58.880 and i say well tell me what you don't want they're like oh well i don't want to be poor and i don't
00:04:02.480 want to be fat and i don't want to be lonely and i don't want to be unhappy it's like cool you
00:04:06.240 actually can tell me what you want if you just take the stuff that you don't want and flip it
00:04:10.000 so here's my belief i believe that your frequency is what you frequently see that's why when we look
00:04:15.840 through your lens of life do you see opportunities do you see abundance you see grace do you see
00:04:21.920 goodness kindness what do you see when you go through your day or do you see evidence of where
00:04:27.280 where everything's wrong because the truth is is the world is a reflection of who you are not how
00:04:32.000 the world is your frequency is how you will frequently see the rest of the world for example
00:04:37.460 i have this philosophy of api assume positive intent somebody cuts me off in traffic i assume
00:04:44.360 they're in a rush because somebody in their car is having a medical emergency the reality is that
00:04:49.100 belief is as true as the other belief of somebody saying oh they cut me off because they're a ding
00:04:54.180 both of them are equally plausible one keeps me happy and focused on the day the other one could
00:05:00.340 put me into a tailspin of negative emotions that then pours over into my work and interacting with
00:05:05.520 my team which brings us to number four which is to be weird now i know you're like what how does
00:05:10.720 weird help me be successful here's the deal rich equals weird weird people are not normal people
00:05:17.120 because if they were normal people they'd be like everybody else but if you want to be successful
00:05:21.060 then you have to be abnormal think about this one of my buddies alex he always wears sandals
00:05:25.820 steph curry shoots 200 shots before he even plays a game my other buddy jason doesn't sleep it's
00:05:31.900 kind of weird i like to wear slippers like literally look i wear slippers every day every
00:05:36.500 day i wear slippers just makes my feet happy my buddy mark refuses to invest in the stock market
00:05:41.700 instead he buys cars people think he's weird i refuse to do anything that anybody else can do
00:05:46.620 for me if you want to live an extraordinary life it's going to require you to be extra if you do
00:05:53.560 what everybody else will do you'll always have what everybody else has and if you want to live
00:05:57.260 a life that's above what other people are having because you think that you have a vision that's
00:06:01.520 bigger than awesome some of you guys are scared about being too much here's the deal if i'm too
00:06:06.200 much then go find less i really think the most powerful thing you could do is to do you to be
00:06:11.320 the most authentic version of you it's what you love about all the top celebrities they are a
00:06:16.380 100% expressions of who they are. So give yourself permission to be yourself and allow others to be
00:06:21.680 different. Which brings us to number five, which is to have self-discipline. See, I used to be the
00:06:26.760 person that drank all the time. I used to weigh 265 pounds. I used to sleep in and hit the snooze
00:06:32.820 button. I used to cancel meetings on people last minute. I used to binge eat all the time to deal
00:06:37.480 with my emotions. I went through all of these challenges so I could eventually become the person
00:06:42.420 who had success. And the way I did that is to have self-discipline, to be consistent,
00:06:48.060 to keep the commitments I made to myself, to build my self-confidence. See, first off,
00:06:52.820 it doesn't matter if you do something consistently for five days. If you then go off the rails for
00:06:56.880 three days, you won't make any forward movement. We need to have impulse control. We need to be
00:07:01.640 able to say no, even if nobody else is watching. So your discipline has to match your success as
00:07:07.260 you rise, because if you don't, you'll self-implode. That's why you see a lot of people
00:07:10.980 to get really wealthy and then lose it all is because their discipline, their consistency
00:07:15.180 didn't match the level of wealth and then it imploded on themselves. Because here's what I
00:07:19.760 believe. Discipline is the strongest form of self-love you can have. And your anxiety and
00:07:24.940 depression could all be resolved by owning the first two hours of your day, by having discipline
00:07:30.480 about how you show up, how you focus, how you take care of the big rocks starting off your day,
00:07:35.500 build that win, build that success, build that momentum. It will change your life.
00:07:39.800 which brings us to number six which is either you win or you learn nelson mandela spent 20 years in
00:07:46.120 prison and when he came out he famously said that he never loses he either wins or he learns see
00:07:51.960 regardless of the outcome there's always something to gain from the experience setbacks are valuable
00:07:57.080 learning experiences but you have to make sure that you learn from those mistakes because if you
00:08:01.720 don't then you'll keep being presented things opportunities people that will show you where you
00:08:07.560 you were not free because you didn't learn the first time you experienced that setback or that
00:08:12.360 pain. And the world will keep giving you those same people, the same circumstances. Maybe you've
00:08:16.940 seen people that have relationship problems and they went from somebody that was a brunette and
00:08:21.320 now they're a blonde and they're like, oh, this person is completely different. And then they
00:08:24.740 experienced the exact same thing. It's because they didn't learn from the first experience and
00:08:28.840 they brought that same process for picking and finding and being in a relationship to the new
00:08:33.300 person and those same challenges occur. So either you win or you learn, but if you fail and you don't
00:08:39.180 learn, you'll keep repeating those same mistakes. Which brings us to number seven, which is to have
00:08:43.660 relentless tenacity. After I got out of rehab and I got out of all the trouble with the law and all
00:08:49.140 those things from 17 to 24, I failed. I tried in business. I wanted to be successful. I surrounded
00:08:55.300 myself with people. I tried. I did everything I thought I could do, but I kept failing. But what
00:09:00.020 I didn't do is I didn't stop moving forward. Even in my full distance Ironman, when I was in the
00:09:05.140 heat of it, the pain cave, when I was suffering, when I couldn't even bear anymore, all I would
00:09:10.180 repeat to myself is the next telephone pole. I'm only going to go from this spot to the next
00:09:15.180 telephone pole. And in that moment, I'm going to reconsider if I keep moving forward. And that got
00:09:20.500 me through a full distance Ironman after almost a hundred and some mile bike ride in a three mile
00:09:27.640 swim it's crazy but here's what i've learned to be relentless it requires focus and focus stands
00:09:33.560 for follow one course until successful execute learn be resilient most people are too transient
00:09:40.680 most people will just keep swapping from thing to thing thinking the next thing is the thing
00:09:44.600 that's going to work and they don't realize the reason this thing didn't work is because they
00:09:47.400 stopped and then they go start something new then they hit that part where it gets hard and then they
00:09:50.440 stop and they go start new and they just keep going i have a friend that's been doing this for 27
00:09:54.920 years 27 years of his life and he doesn't see it that when it gets hard he decides to stop you
00:10:00.440 have to have resilience you have to be tenacious don't worry about making the right decision just
00:10:05.720 worry about making a decision on that course and then making that decision right which brings us
00:10:11.560 to number eight which is to have extreme accountability well i'm about to share with
00:10:15.720 you for some of you it may be a little difficult to hear but it's only when i took accountability
00:10:20.280 that I started seeing success around the ages of 23, 24.
00:10:23.740 I just learned at that age
00:10:25.400 that I have to focus on the controllables.
00:10:27.640 What are the things that are within my control?
00:10:29.320 There's a bunch of other stuff I won't be able to control,
00:10:31.820 but what are the things that I can decide?
00:10:33.580 I can decide how I respond to what's happening around me.
00:10:36.240 I mean, during COVID, we were training for Ironman
00:10:38.620 and all the races got canceled.
00:10:40.400 And in that moment, I could have just accepted
00:10:42.520 like most of the racers that I'm not racing this year
00:10:45.280 in the two years of training,
00:10:46.580 we'll get pushed back to another year
00:10:48.100 potentially in the future.
00:10:49.160 But then I said, you know what?
00:10:50.000 i can't control the government i can't control what the world and the population or my community
00:10:54.480 wants to do but i can control how i respond and i decided i want to race how do we make this happen
00:11:00.560 and me and my buddies coordinated with the chip company and a different location and there was
00:11:04.880 about four of us and we were all compliant but we ended up running our own full distance ironman
00:11:10.400 during covet one of the few covet races ever happened now i know some of you guys are like
00:11:14.400 that's crazy and i know 100 accountability will sound absurd some people are like okay so you're
00:11:20.160 telling me everything that happens to me i'm responsible for i'm saying just own it if you
00:11:24.000 get hit by a car own the fact that you were walking on the sidewalk when you got hit by
00:11:28.480 the car someone rits you off just own the fact that you decided to be in commerce with that
00:11:33.440 person if you get your heart broken just own the fact that you decided to be in a relationship with
00:11:38.160 that person you don't control those people but if you can be accountable to how you respond to the
00:11:43.040 situation then that at least gives you agency it gives you power it doesn't lose the opportunity
00:11:48.720 for you to take control of that situation which brings us to number nine which is be impeccable
00:11:54.160 with your word one of the things that i pride myself on is that if i make a commitment to you
00:11:58.480 you can 100 guarantee it take it to the bank if i say i'm going to speak at your event or i'm going
00:12:03.520 to show up and do your podcast or i'm going to meet with you for coffee i will show up if it's
00:12:07.840 in the calendar i do it but it wasn't always that way there was a point where i didn't think it was
00:12:12.560 that important to always honor what i say and what i've learned over the years is that how you are
00:12:17.680 is who you attract so if you're flaky you're going to attract other flaky people so if you can't do
00:12:22.960 it then say it's a no don't say maybe just say i can't say i'm heads down say i'd love to but i
00:12:28.880 won't be able to do that be with integrity with others my philosophy is i want to live as if
00:12:33.600 everything i say or do is recorded because it kind of is and that it could be published on the
00:12:37.840 home page of a newspaper or on the home page of a website or publish on the home page of youtube
00:12:43.360 this is who i am this is what i say and i gotta stand by that when you're somebody that shows up
00:12:47.680 and does what they say they're gonna do then you start to build confidence in others you build
00:12:52.560 confidence in yourself and people start to trust you when you're somebody that really honors the
00:12:57.760 language the words you use because it's not only what you say to other people it's what you say to
00:13:02.080 to yourself. Be impeccable with choosing language and words to describe your story, your situation
00:13:08.120 that empowers you, not that pulls you down. I used to do this all the time where I would talk down
00:13:13.440 to myself. I would beat myself up. Some of you, if you actually heard somebody speaking to your
00:13:19.100 friend the way you speak to yourself, you would punch that person in the face. Yet you allow
00:13:23.460 yourself to have these negative conversations. The impeccable with the word is not only public,
00:13:28.080 but it's internal that's how we build integrity with ourselves this brings us to number 10 which
00:13:32.960 is to upgrade our relationships when i started to see success around the age of 25 i had to look
00:13:38.240 around some of the people in my life at that point and cut a lot of toxic people from my life these
00:13:43.360 are people that i appreciated and adored and i loved up until that point but then i realized
00:13:48.240 that their journey and mine were completely different and we started different ways and
00:13:52.080 that was tough but the truth is i think one of the biggest flexes you could have is a life
00:13:57.120 well live think about this if you show up in life and you're positive and you're surrounding yourself
00:14:01.680 with other people to support your dreams then you get to live a life well love and great people will
00:14:06.480 want to spend time with you jay-z isn't jay-z without his producer guru because jay-z is a
00:14:12.800 positive person that really curates his conversations and the people he allows in his entourage
00:14:17.520 then he has a positive life and he will attract other incredible talent you're not the average of
00:14:23.200 of the five people you spend time with but you're the average of the five people you allow to
00:14:27.100 influence you think about that it's who you allow to influence you that's why social media is such
00:14:31.560 great tools you can choose the people that you allow to influence you cutting people out of your
00:14:36.920 life that are toxic i call this doing a friendventory you just gotta ask yourself one
00:14:40.840 question when i share good news with that person are they happy for me or they try to knock me down
00:14:45.600 are these people that are pushing me to live a higher life are they expecting more from me from
00:14:50.860 a place of concern and they see my greatness? Are these people that are always complaining about
00:14:55.140 other folks or worrying about everything I'm doing that's making me second guess my decisions? Or are
00:15:00.080 these people adding value to your life? You don't need to make it a big thing. Just disengage. Don't
00:15:05.780 respond to their texts as quick. Don't say yes to the weekend invites and create some space for you
00:15:10.280 to invite other people into your life. Which brings us to number 11, which is play to win.
00:15:16.220 When I got successful, I remember I got invited to this crazy event.
00:15:20.720 It was held by one of the most notable politicians in our state.
00:15:23.840 And I went to this place where like 25 private jets landed.
00:15:28.220 There was about 200 people.
00:15:29.600 It was incredibly curated.
00:15:31.100 Bill Clinton spoke there.
00:15:32.560 Colin Powell.
00:15:33.440 Some of the most elite people ever.
00:15:35.980 And I'm in my 20s sitting around these rooms of people that are much, much older than me.
00:15:40.440 Double, triple my age.
00:15:41.540 And the conversations were fascinating to me because what I noticed was most of the people in that room were in a different headspace, a different energy space around success.
00:15:51.740 And eventually one of my mentors explained it to me this way because I asked him, I said, I didn't really like that.
00:15:55.960 And he said, oh, that's because those people are in wealth preservation mode and you're still in wealth creation mode.
00:16:01.220 And I realized that that is the difference between playing not to lose versus playing to win.
00:16:06.140 i would encourage you the top people the most successful people the ones that you read about
00:16:09.900 in the magazines that inspire you these are people that are in wealth creation mode they're showing
00:16:15.100 up to play to win they're trying to figure out where is the next opportunity not how do i protect
00:16:20.300 the empire built so far people playing not to lose are often more focused on avoiding making mistakes
00:16:26.140 than making plays expansion and creation and to be a great player you can't fear failure always be on
00:16:32.860 the offense not the defense or over time you'll get frail this brings us to number 12 which is to
00:16:38.460 express your preferences see successful people do this very simple thing they ask for what they want
00:16:44.540 the reason most people are struggling to get what they want is because they've never asked for them
00:16:49.100 whether big or small so you never get a dollar more than you think you deserve if you want to
00:16:53.740 raise you gotta ask for it if you want money from investors you gotta ask for it if you want your
00:16:58.220 you're steak medium rare and it comes out rare,
00:17:00.460 ask for another one.
00:17:01.420 Because even the little things compound.
00:17:03.600 Most people are scared
00:17:04.340 because they don't wanna upset somebody.
00:17:06.320 They don't wanna inconvenience somebody else.
00:17:08.340 They don't wanna put somebody out.
00:17:10.020 They don't wanna get anybody to create conflict.
00:17:12.620 Like they're so scared of disrupting their world
00:17:15.560 or other people are being bothersome
00:17:17.400 that they just decide to not ask for what they want.
00:17:19.820 And some people will live in internal unhappiness
00:17:22.680 when they could have just asked.
00:17:24.800 Which brings us to number 13,
00:17:26.360 which is to prioritize investments. See, broke people make money to buy things. If I gave them
00:17:31.280 an extra $2,000, they would be like, woo, what can I buy on my $2,000? Where middle-class people
00:17:36.820 make money so that they can improve their credit score so they can get loans to buy nicer things
00:17:41.400 and kind of keep up with the Joneses. But wealthy people invest in income-generating assets. If I
00:17:46.720 gave them an extra $2,000, they're like, whoa, okay, where can I invest this to turn this into
00:17:50.460 more money into the future? See, 78% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, which is a scary
00:17:55.980 statistic they don't invest in the future they don't delay gratification they want everything
00:18:01.420 now they feel entitled i should have this why do other people have nice things and i don't see
00:18:06.060 instead of buying a brand new car ask yourself what asset could i invest in that could create
00:18:10.540 enough cash flow to buy that car that's what successful people do wealthy people invest in
00:18:15.260 things because they have longer time horizons see they look at in decades not in days they're
00:18:20.300 thinking about okay if i invest this now in 10 years i could live a completely different quality
00:18:25.740 of life whereas most people they haven't set a big vision a primary aim for what they want to
00:18:30.860 create in the future so they're just happy with a little bit more today so they defer the big
00:18:35.900 opportunity for the future for the guaranteed little thing today which brings us to number 14
00:18:40.860 which is to be incompetent yep you heard me right i had a short go viral where i said if you want to
00:18:47.020 be rich be lazy and if you want to be wealthy be incompetent here's why you have to consider
00:18:51.820 yourself going from operator to owner in life you know if i had a restaurant and the chef quit i'm
00:18:57.020 not going to jump in the kitchen and start cooking food i would go find another chef this means work
00:19:01.500 through people be selective where you get yourself involved see if you're too smart if you know too
00:19:06.780 many things then you'll always be the person that gives people the answers to the test which means
00:19:11.260 that anytime they run into issues they're always going to come to you for the answers which creates
00:19:15.660 the bottleneck and the bottleneck is called that because it comes from the top see some of the
00:19:19.740 smartest people in the world aren't rich think about like the phd doctorate professor at the
00:19:24.780 university the reason why is because they don't understand that by being incompetent selectively
00:19:30.140 choosing to not always have the answers actually empowers the people around them to step up and
00:19:35.500 own the projects see i would encourage you to consider focus instead on helping other people
00:19:39.900 get rich and invest in them train them teach them and that's actually how you get freedom which
00:19:45.180 brings us to number 15 which is protect your reputation at the end of the day success is all
00:19:50.780 about reach and reputation are you known well or well known are you somebody that can deliver
00:19:57.100 on your promises on your commitments or somebody that always flakes are you somebody that's world
00:20:01.740 class like buffett and because he's one of the best investors in the world he has that reputation
00:20:06.220 he gets other people's luck brought to him are you somebody that has values that you can communicate
00:20:11.820 and you share with other people and you stand by them and when they're tested you're consistent
00:20:15.980 and people see that do you have integrity when things go bad and it's your fault do you step up
00:20:20.460 to try to make it right are you somebody that shines your light at the end of the day people
00:20:24.780 want to do business with folks they know like and trust and the more people know who you are
00:20:30.780 and like and trust you the more success you will attract into your life those are the 15 laws of
00:20:36.460 success but if you want to learn how i brainwash myself to success click the link and i'll see on
00:20:41.100 on the other side.
