00:00:00.000 Have you seen the Liberals' latest attempt to make Canadian citizenship meaningless?
00:00:03.560 Meet Lina Diab, Canada's new immigration minister in the Mark Carney government.
00:00:07.780 Lina was born in Halifax to Lebanese immigrants.
00:00:10.180 When she was two, her family moved back to Lebanon before returning to Canada when she was 11,
00:00:14.600 fleeing the Lebanese civil war.
00:00:16.180 Before entering federal politics, she was a cabinet minister in Nova Scotia's provincial government,
00:00:20.680 including eight years as provincial immigration minister.
00:00:23.120 During that time, she presided over a massive spike in foreign immigration to the province.
00:00:27.320 So at a time when even the Liberals admit immigration has become unsustainable,
00:00:31.600 is this really the person to be in charge of Canada's immigration system?
00:00:34.980 This brings us to her latest project.
00:00:37.040 Earlier this year, Lina introduced Bill C-3, an act to amend the Citizenship Act.
00:00:41.800 This bill expands the definition of citizenship by descent.
00:00:44.680 It would allow naturalized citizens, those people who immigrated to Canada and gained citizenship,
00:00:49.480 to pass their citizenship to their children and grandchildren,
00:00:52.320 even if those children are born abroad and never set foot in Canada.
00:00:56.220 them. So imagine, someone moves to Canada, obtains citizenship, lives here for three years, and then
00:01:01.100 returns to their home country permanently. Their children, and even their grandchildren, would 1.00
00:01:05.260 automatically receive Canadian citizenship. No residency, no connection to Canada, no obligation
00:01:10.280 to ever live here. But if they ever want to take advantage of our healthcare system or education
00:01:13.680 system, they can come right in. How does that make any sense? Worse, the bill would immediately
00:01:18.360 grant citizenship to over 100,000 people born abroad, without criminal record checks, language
00:01:23.720 requirements or even a citizenship exam at a time when birthright citizenship desperately needs to
00:01:28.120 be restricted the liberals are giving it away can already has some of the most wide open birthright
00:01:32.920 citizenship laws on the planet children born to tourists illegal migrants and temporary workers 0.76
00:01:37.880 automatically receive citizenship these loopholes fuel birth tourism anchor babies and chain
00:01:42.600 migration instead of fixing the problem the carny liberals are creating a brand new one 0.61
00:01:46.760 Demand that Canadian citizenship means something again.
00:01:49.760 Long live Canada.
