A country needs a cohesive culture and identity for everyone to rally around. We need shared values, shared aspirations, shared experiences, and all of these things are derivative of shared roots. Canada was founded as a home for the Canadian people, built by settlers and explorers for their descendants.

00:00:00.000 Is Canada really a cultural mosaic?
00:00:02.040 This term is often used to describe Canada's identity.
00:00:04.340 You probably learned about it growing up.
00:00:05.920 I know I did.
00:00:06.720 It's a key way smug intellectuals differentiate Canada from the United States.
00:00:10.480 They are a melting pot.
00:00:11.540 We are a cultural mosaic.
00:00:12.940 But does this actually describe Canada's historic identity?
00:00:15.400 This term was popularized in the 70s during the post-national cultural revolution of Pierre
00:00:19.720 Trudeau.
00:00:20.160 It did not describe what was, but rather what they wanted to transform Canada into.
00:00:24.320 Canada was not founded as some sort of post-national multicultural economic zone like modern
00:00:28.220 intellectuals will have you believe.
00:00:29.660 Canada was founded as a home for the Canadian people, built by settlers and explorers for
00:00:33.480 their descendants. In 1867, upon Confederation, 97% of the population was of Anglo, English,
00:00:39.300 Scottish, Irish, or French descent. 80% of that population was born right here,
00:00:43.260 direct descendants of those earliest settlers. By 1971, around the time the elites began to
00:00:47.600 astroturf the concept of multiculturalism and the cultural mosaic, Canada was 96% European
00:00:52.280 and 73% Anglo-French. Canada was not founded as a multicultural society, but rather a bicultural
00:00:58.360 one. This is a proud heritage that makes us unique on the global stage, something we should be proud
00:01:02.780 of and embrace fully. The reality is that the term cultural mosaic was naively aspirational,
00:01:08.100 not descriptive. The unrealistic dream of post-national Marxists desperate to deconstruct
00:01:12.680 Canada's colonial identity. A country needs a cohesive culture and identity for everyone to
00:01:17.460 rally around. We need shared values, shared aspirations, shared experiences, and all of
00:01:21.860 these things are derivative of shared roots. Diversity and multiculturalism are completely 1.00
00:01:26.160 dysfunctional. And this is only becoming more obvious as more and more people are imported 1.00
00:01:30.100 from countries that are culturally, religiously, linguistically, and ethnically distant from
00:01:34.320 Canada. Trudeau's multicultural revolution was a mistake. We must reverse the transformation 0.96
00:01:38.360 of our society and reject lies like the cultural mosaic. Long live Canada.
