Summary

Joe Biden delivers a State of the Union address that had a lot of people outside the U.S. Capitol chanting and heckling. The response from outside of the Capitol building was interesting to say the least... Joe Biden is right about one thing, and that's that Russia is a threat to the United States. But what does that have to do with the Ukraine crisis? And what does it mean for the future of our relationship with Russia and Ukraine? And why is it so important that the President and Vice President speak out about this in a foreign country that is trying to take us back from the brink of civil war? And how can we stop Putin from doing what he's doing to us in Ukraine? What can we do to stop Putin and make sure we don't get sucked into the maelstrom that he's creating in Ukraine, and why we need to stand up to him? And what should we do about it? And is it a good thing that we're not going to stop him from doing it in the future, because he's going to get us into another war with Russia, and we're going to have to pay the price for it? And why do we have to be so angry at him for it and why does it matter? and how should we be mad at him and what he s going to do it and why should we about it ? at the future? if we don t do anything about it, and how does he s got a plan to stop Russia or not Putin s to stop us from doing anything in Ukraine and Ukraine s in the first place? in a country that s s to help us with Ukraine in America s a country in Europe s at us in any way? or what s he s doing in response to our country? to us and we should be doing us to us s with our country s ? and so on and so much more! and much more ... and more in this episode of Firebrand! 00:02:33.000 It's that simple.
00:02:33.000 He's so tough, he's so strong, he's smart, and he loves this country.
00:02:38.000 Matt Gaetz.
00:02:40.000 It is the honor of my life to fight alongside each and every one of you.

00:02:47.000 It's choose your fighter time.
00:02:48.000 I'm sending the fire brains.
00:02:50.000 Welcome back to Firebrand.
00:03:11.000 That was the scene outside the State of the Union at the U.S. Capitol last evening as Joe Biden delivered the address on the state of the nation, or really the state of his political life and political campaign.
00:03:22.000 It certainly had 2024 contest energy more so than a true update as to what was going on with the country.
00:03:29.000 Kimberly on Facebook says she can't tell what's worse, the yelling or the whispering.
00:03:35.000 Terry says definitely the yelling.
00:03:37.000 Thank you so much for tuning in.
00:03:39.000 We are live broadcasting out of room 2021 of the Rayburn House Office Building here at the Capitol Complex in Washington, D.C. And thank you for tuning in from South Carolina, Florida, Massachusetts, Washington State.
00:03:49.000 We're glad you're here.
00:03:50.000 I'm going to be breaking down the State of the Union, what the signals and tells are, the various things that That Joe Biden mentioned in his remarks and I thought it was noteworthy that we invited Biden to give the State of the Union and he did, I guess, as to the Union of Ukraine.
00:04:08.000 The guy gets there and rather than talking about America first, He launches into this big explanation about Ukraine.
00:04:18.000 And when you start the State of the Union speech by saying, it is democracy that is at issue.
00:04:24.000 I'm here to give a speech about democracy.
00:04:26.000 And I'm starting with a country that just canceled its presidential elections.
00:04:31.000 And oh, by the way, here, a bunch of Biden's allies are trying to take Trump off the ballot.
00:04:36.000 So it was interesting.
00:04:38.000 Take a listen.
00:04:41.000 Ukraine can stop Putin.
00:04:43.000 If we stand with Ukraine and provide the weapons, that means the defendants, though.
00:04:50.000 That is all.
00:05:00.000 That is all Ukraine is asking.
00:05:02.000 They're not asking for American soldiers.
00:05:05.000 In fact, there are no American soldiers in war in Ukraine, and I'm determined to keep it that way.
00:05:11.000 But now, Assistance to Ukraine is being blocked by those who want to walk away from our world leadership.
00:05:20.000 Wasn't long ago when a Republican president named Ronald Reagan thundered, Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.
00:05:31.000 Now, my predecessor, a former Republican president tells Putin, quote, do whatever the hell you want. - Um.
00:05:47.000 That's a quote.
00:05:49.000 A former president actually said that bowing down to a Russian leader, I think it's outrageous, it's dangerous, and it's unacceptable.
00:06:05.000 I say this to Congress: We have to stand up to Putin.
00:06:10.000 Send me a bipartisan national security bill.
00:06:14.000 History is literally watching.
00:06:16.000 History is watching.
00:06:18.000 If the United States walks away, it will put Ukraine at risk.
00:06:23.000 Europe is at risk.
00:06:24.000 The free world will be at risk, emboldening others to do what they wish to do us harm.
00:06:29.000 My message to President Putin, who I've known for a long time, is simple.
00:06:33.000 We will not walk away.
00:06:36.000 away.
00:06:37.000 We're back live.
00:06:45.000 I thought this was interesting because Trump is going to be able to present in contrast with Joe Biden four years where Vladimir Putin didn't invade anyone.
00:06:54.000 When Donald Trump was president, even the dictators were on their best behavior because Trump was not predictable.
00:07:00.000 And here you have Joe Biden Creating moral hazard in Europe by saying the United States will forever float the cost of this war.
00:07:08.000 You know what?
00:07:09.000 The war will end when the European democracies want it to end.
00:07:12.000 Because they're the ones funding the war through the purchase of Russian oil and gas.
00:07:16.000 And so Joe Biden trying to lash the future of the United States to the future of Ukraine I think does our nation a great disservice.
00:07:25.000 And I don't really get the sense that independents are going to be breaking for him on this.
00:07:30.000 America tires of this type of war.
00:07:36.000 Remember, for all the criticism folks want to lodge at Mike Johnson, he at least said to the administration, there's not going to be more Ukraine money if you're not able to answer the questions about what it is we're trying to win there.
00:07:48.000 And there's a lot of divergence of opinion on that, even between the United States and Ukraine.
00:07:53.000 Joe Biden also had a lot to say about COVID. Remember, that thing that caused us to lock up the country, destroy lives, impact mental health, drive people deeper into addiction, depression.
00:08:04.000 We did all that for something the CDC now says.
00:08:07.000 You can just wait until 24 hours after your fever subsides to return back to social contact.
00:08:14.000 So...
00:08:15.000 Just like the common cold or the flu.
00:08:17.000 Joe Biden had a lot to say about COVID last night.
00:08:19.000 Take a listen.
00:08:21.000 Four years ago, next week, before I came to office, the country was hit by the worst pandemic and the worst economic crisis in a century.
00:08:31.000 Remember the fear?
00:08:32.000 Record losses?
00:08:34.000 Remember the spikes in crime and the murder rate raging virus?
00:08:38.000 It took more than one million American lives of loved ones, millions left behind.
00:08:44.000 A mental health crisis of isolation and loneliness.
00:08:47.000 A president, my predecessor, failed the most basic presidential duty that he owes to American people, the duty to care.
00:08:56.000 I think that's unforgivable.
00:08:59.000 I came to office determined to get us through one of the toughest periods in the nation's history.
00:09:04.000 We have.
00:09:05.000 It doesn't make news, but news in a thousand cities and towns, the American people are writing the greatest comeback story never told.
00:09:13.000 So let's tell the story here.
00:09:23.000 Tell it here and now.
00:09:26.000 America's comeback is building the future of American possibilities.
00:09:30.000 Building an economy from the middle out and the bottom up, not the top down.
00:09:34.000 Investing in all America, in all Americans, to make sure everyone has a fair shot.
00:09:39.000 We leave no one, no one behind.
00:09:42.000 The pandemic no longer controls our lives.
00:09:45.000 The vaccine that saved us from COVID Are now being used to beat cancer, turning setback into comeback.
00:09:53.000 That's what America does.
00:09:55.000 That's what America does. - We're back live.
00:10:04.000 I'm not entirely sure that the claim that the COVID vaccine is going to cure cancer is going to particularly age well.
00:10:10.000 We continue to discover more and more vaccine injuries that the government is working alongside big pharma to cover up.
00:10:17.000 And so I don't know that that's a comeback so much as yet another setback that is compounded by the poor decisions we made to extend liability protections to these vaccine manufacturers during the CARES Act.
00:10:30.000 Now, Kimberly on Facebook, I'm sorry, Patricia on YouTube says the best part of the night was MTG yelling.
00:10:36.000 That's a sentiment I've heard from a lot of people.
00:10:38.000 Kim on Rumble says Mike Johnson's way better than Kevin McCarthy, but...
00:10:42.000 Disappointed he was nodding way too much.
00:10:45.000 I don't know.
00:10:45.000 I thought Mike Johnson had dismissive energy around some of the claims that Biden was making, kind of rolling his eyes, nodding, certainly more disrespectful, I should say, than Nancy Pelosi ripping up President Trump's speech, which actually, as it turns out, is a crime and super frowned upon.
00:11:02.000 So when things are looking bad for Democrats, you can always rely on them to return to the The traditional scare tactic that they use around Social Security and Medicare.
00:11:12.000 That's how they get seniors to vote against, at times, their own interests, the interests of the country, even the long-term health of those very programs.
00:11:20.000 Joe Biden did not spare comment on Social Security and Medicare last evening.
00:11:24.000 Take a listen.
00:11:27.000 Many of my friends on the other side of the aisle want to put Social Security on the chopping block.
00:11:34.000 If anyone here tries to cut Social Security, Medicare, or raise their retirement age, I will stop you.
00:11:40.000 The working people, the working people who built this country pay more into Social Security than millionaires and billionaires do.
00:11:56.000 It's not fair.
00:11:58.000 We have two ways to go.
00:12:01.000 Republicans can cut Social Security and give more tax breaks to the wealthy.
00:12:05.000 That's the proposal.
00:12:08.000 Oh, no.
00:12:09.000 You guys don't want another $2 trillion tax cut?
00:12:13.000 I kind of thought that's what your plan was.
00:12:17.000 Well, that's good to hear.
00:12:19.000 You're not going to cut another $2 trillion to the super wealth.
00:12:22.000 That's good to hear.
00:12:24.000 I'll protect and strengthen Social Security and make the wealthy pay their fair share.
00:12:28.000 Our Getter livestream is fired up.
00:12:37.000 King saying, let this man rest in peace in a nursing home.
00:12:40.000 Why drag him out to give the State of the Union?
00:12:43.000 And Dixie on Getter wanting to know why Hunter Biden was not sitting in the family section.
00:12:48.000 I don't know if he got the invite here.
00:12:50.000 He certainly got the invite when we were asking him questions in his deposition regarding These bribes masquerading as business transactions.
00:12:58.000 Joe Biden I don't think is going to be running an election on Social Security and Medicare.
00:13:03.000 Republicans haven't advanced any program proposal or idea that would harm those programs.
00:13:08.000 If anything, we want to ensure their sustainability for the long term for those who rely on them.
00:13:13.000 And while there's a lot we can do on Medicaid to block grant that program, to allow states to have the opportunity to be more flexible and to try innovations to lower the cost of health care, we see right now a Medicaid system that is less capable of meeting the needs of the vulnerable we see right now a Medicaid system that is less capable of meeting the needs of the vulnerable because we've plowed so many additional illegal aliens onto So a lot of work to be done on those things.
00:13:40.000 But Joe Biden demonstrating the need to draw from a very old playbook because there are not a lot of new innovative plays in there if you're Joe Biden and the economy is failing as it currently is.
00:13:54.000 Now, the inflation issue is one that dogs the president.
00:13:57.000 Inflation has been skyrocketing It's impacted the family budget of just about every working class family in the country.
00:14:04.000 And it's also resulted in changes to how people buy cars, buy homes, and really execute on the principal factors of their lives.
00:14:13.000 Joe Biden thinks the answer to inflation is to print more money and give it out.
00:14:17.000 Take a listen.
00:14:21.000 I know the cost of housing is so important to you.
00:14:24.000 If inflation keeps coming down, mortgage rates will come down as well.
00:14:27.000 And the Fed acknowledges that.
00:14:29.000 But I'm not waiting.
00:14:31.000 I want to provide an annual tax credit that will give Americans $400 a month for the next two years as mortgage rates come down to put toward their mortgages when they buy their first home or trade up for a little more space.
00:14:47.000 Just for two years.
00:14:48.000 Utilizing the government to plow more money into the economy when you have limited inventory in terms of homes relative to the demand, when you've brought 10 million people across the border illegally, that is inherently inflationary.
00:15:12.000 Of course, home prices will continue to rise if we create government programs that subsidize these first-time home buyers.
00:15:17.000 And I'm not unsympathetic to the cause, but the right answer is actually to reduce our spending, reduce our debt.
00:15:23.000 That will bring down interest rates.
00:15:25.000 That will give us the ability to access capital to live the American dream.
00:15:29.000 And if you just keep subsidizing it, you're digging the hole deeper.
00:15:34.000 You're driving up the debts.
00:15:35.000 There was no pay-for for that program.
00:15:37.000 It would cost a fortune.
00:15:39.000 And by the way, when Joe Biden talks about people who are first-time homebuyers or people who are upgrading their home, what about people who downsize?
00:15:46.000 We have a lot of seniors in Florida who are empty nesters, who don't need as much space in retirement.
00:15:52.000 Is every Florida retiree going to be subsidizing somebody else's home purchase?
00:15:57.000 That's crazy.
00:16:00.000 But it's the type of thing you see floated and it shows a basic misunderstanding of core economic theory.
00:16:05.000 There's also a misunderstanding of the border that we see with Joe Biden and we all remember When Joe Biden raised his hand, said he wanted to give free health care to illegal aliens, we remember when he boasted about repealing the Trump policies that were working on the border.
00:16:21.000 Now Joe Biden says it's the Republicans to blame.
00:16:24.000 Even though we passed bills, even though we supported President Trump's actions on the border, he blames the Republicans for the open border he created.
00:16:33.000 Take a listen.
00:16:36.000 In November, my team began serious negotiations with a bipartisan group of senators.
00:16:42.000 The result was a bipartisan bill with the toughest set of border security reforms we've ever seen.
00:16:49.000 Oh, you don't think so?
00:16:53.000 Oh, you don't like that bill, huh?
00:16:56.000 That conservatives got together and said it was a good bill?
00:17:00.000 I'll be darned.
00:17:01.000 That's amazing.
00:17:02.000 I believe that, given the opportunity for a majority in the House and Senate, would endorse the bill as well, a majority right now.
00:17:10.000 But unfortunately, politics has derailed this bill so far.
00:17:15.000 I'm told my predecessor called members of Congress in the Senate to demand they block the bill.
00:17:21.000 He feels a political win, he viewed it as a political win for me and a political loser for him.
00:17:27.000 It's not about him.
00:17:28.000 It's not about me.
00:17:30.000 I'd be a winner, not really.
00:17:35.000 I... Lincoln...
00:17:45.000 Lincoln Riley, an innocent young woman who was killed...
00:17:50.000 By an illegal.
00:17:52.000 That's right.
00:17:53.000 But how many of thousands of people being killed by legal?
00:17:57.000 To her parents I say, my heart goes out to you having lost children myself.
00:18:01.000 I understand.
00:18:06.000 We're back live.
00:18:07.000 Born Free on Getter.
00:18:08.000 Says this is all because Joe Biden is creating housing for illegals.
00:18:12.000 And there's no question that would be a substantial draw to someone who didn't have shelter.
00:18:16.000 If they knew if they came into our country illegally, it would be provided by the American taxpayer.
00:18:20.000 Second, Lincoln Riley is the football coach of the University of Southern California.
00:18:29.000 Lakin Riley was the nursing student who was savagely murdered by an illegal alien in Georgia on a run.
00:18:36.000 So Joe Biden couldn't tell the slain nursing student from the football coach in Southern California.
00:18:44.000 Be that as it may, there was a lot of stir over the fact that Joe Biden used the term illegals, right?
00:18:50.000 They are illegals.
00:18:52.000 You get a guy in his 80s talking and you're going to hear some things.
00:18:57.000 The squad like you about had to go and wake them up with smelling salts after Joe Biden talked about that.
00:19:04.000 And then there was that passing reference Joe Biden made to the thousands of people who were the victims of crimes of illegal aliens.
00:19:09.000 And I don't think that's doing the work for him that he thinks it is.
00:19:12.000 Because it only showcases the cost, the collateral damage that their administration is willing to endure in order to keep an open border and get people into the cities, the sanctuary cities, where the folks have been fleeing Because it's too unsafe, because economic conditions are deteriorating, and because the majesty of America's great places does not thrive under the leftist socialist policies that have been visited on places like New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles.
00:19:43.000 Once incredible places, once centers of innovation and art and growth, and now they look more like the third world.
00:19:51.000 Speaking of some of the problems in the third world, we look at Gaza right now as a dire situation.
00:19:58.000 And we feel for the people who are starving there, who are having failures of their organs because the only water to drink is salt water.
00:20:10.000 That is a terrible way to die.
00:20:12.000 That's a terrible way to live.
00:20:14.000 Now, of course, we don't want to be giving aid that can be diverted by Hamas to extend the carnage of this conflict.
00:20:22.000 But at the same time, it cannot be tenable that there's no ability for Arab countries, not the United States, but for Arab countries, to be able to get true aid vetted, scanned, and cleared safely.
00:20:39.000 To the desperate and dying people in Gaza.
00:20:41.000 Now, Joe Biden has a different prescription for this.
00:20:44.000 Predictably, it's nation building at your expense, your money, your brothers and sisters, your sons and daughters, building a port in Gaza.
00:20:54.000 Take a listen.
00:20:57.000 The United States has been leading international efforts to get more humanitarian assistance to Gaza.
00:21:01.000 Tonight, I'm directing the U.S. military to lead an emergency mission to establish a temporary pier in the Mediterranean on the coast of Gaza that can receive large shipments carrying food, water, medicine, and temporary shelters.
00:21:16.000 No U.S. boots will be on the ground.
00:21:19.000 A temporary peer will enable a massive increase in the amount of humanitarian assistance getting into Gaza every day.
00:21:28.000 How does that even work?
00:21:33.000 How are we going to build a port in Gaza without boots on the ground?
00:21:39.000 Who's going to build it?
00:21:40.000 And do you think anybody's going to go build this port in Gaza without some protection?
00:21:47.000 Without some security?
00:21:48.000 You saw what happened to those aid workers when they were driving aid in on trucks?
00:21:54.000 They were swarmed.
00:21:56.000 You have hundreds of thousands of people who are desperate and dying.
00:22:01.000 It's not a good situation to just drop a contracting crew in and hope everything goes well.
00:22:06.000 So you're going to have to have security for them.
00:22:08.000 Then you're going to have to have exfil.
00:22:09.000 You're going to have to have people planning for any type of extraction that needs to happen for contractors or security personnel if the situation breaks bad very quickly.
00:22:19.000 So then that's another feature of what you've got to have.
00:22:23.000 This could be like...
00:22:25.000 Black Hawk Down meets Gulf of Tonkin as we're trying to construct some port in Gaza.
00:22:30.000 And again, I cannot stress enough how sympathetic I am to the plight of innocent people there.
00:22:36.000 But this is not the answer.
00:22:38.000 The answer is to have these rich Gulf monarchies, Arab countries, facilitate aid into the country and to not have that aid come through the crux of conflict and bombs dropping.
00:22:53.000 We hope for better days in Gaza, in Israel, in Judea and Samaria.
00:22:59.000 But until then, we cannot allow this to become a tinderbox that spills over into some regional or global war.
00:23:07.000 That would not be in America's interests, or Israel's interests, or in the interests of the people who live in Gaza.
00:23:14.000 Thank you so much for joining me.
00:23:16.000 One of the funny comments we had on the live stream was, That folks were happy to listen to me, but if they had to listen to Joe Biden this much in the episode, they were tuning out.
00:23:24.000 And I get it, but you know what?
00:23:25.000 You need to know what's happening.
00:23:27.000 You need to know what's going on.
00:23:28.000 And, of course, how the other side lays out their argument tells us a lot about how we have to approach the major problems facing the country, and that is indeed what we will do.
