00:02:02.520 Okay, so let's just do some clarifications here first.
00:02:05.680 As I said yesterday, there's a lot of headlines everywhere now
00:02:09.960 of how Baldoni missed the deadline of his appeal.
00:02:14.220 And that is not true.
00:02:16.780 He missed one deadline, which was to amend his complaint
00:02:21.920 after it was dismissed back in June.
00:02:25.140 If he had chosen to amend back in June with a few points
00:02:29.000 that the judge left open for them to amend,
00:02:32.240 he would not have been able to appeal later on.
00:02:35.360 And as you know, on Friday, the judge did a ruling and he said that,
00:02:39.480 okay, we are finalizing this.
00:02:42.020 Justin Baldoni's case against Blake, Ryan and Leslie Sloan
00:02:45.820 is dismissed finally on paper.
00:02:49.840 And then he also said,
00:02:51.600 no one can appeal anything before I have ruled on Blake Lively's attorney's fees.
00:02:58.980 He explained it like this, saying,
00:03:00.640 procedure permit district courts to treat motion for attorney's fees
00:03:04.160 as rule 59.
00:03:06.360 And he said that the time to appeal begins
00:03:09.240 when the district court rules on that motion.
00:03:12.800 The reason for this is because he doesn't want two appeals.
00:03:15.600 He wants to put it all together in one
00:03:18.200 if they choose to appeal the case itself.
00:03:21.280 And if they choose to appeal on the attorney's fees,
00:03:24.660 they don't have to do that separately.
00:03:26.820 He wanted them to be able to do that as one case
00:03:30.700 because he says that they're so related anyways
00:03:33.040 that it would just be confusing if they had to appeal twice.

00:04:08.480 And then New York Times picked it up and they are saying,
00:04:11.520 oh, we just based all our reporting on that legal documents,

00:04:19.720 So in theory, the way this works is if, for example,
00:04:23.740 you are very unhappy with your employer
00:04:27.020 and you want him to suffer or you want to punish him,
00:04:31.260 you could just file a lawsuit and claim S-H
00:04:36.780 and then you can tip off the local newspaper about it

00:04:42.640 and then he has no right to sue you for defamation.
00:04:46.320 It's really crazy, but that's exactly what happened here.
00:04:49.780 Another thing that the judge pointed out when he dismissed the case
00:04:53.320 was that he said that Baldoni could not prove
00:04:55.820 that Ryan Reynolds or Leslie Sloan

00:05:42.640 WME, who also represents Blake Lively,

00:05:49.540 So the two of them, she calls them a power couple.

00:09:23.240 So back in April of 2023,
00:09:25.800 a lot of the big talent started leaving Stephanie Jones.
00:09:28.840 She had a terrible reputation,
00:09:30.460 according to Jennifer Abel, in the industry.
00:09:33.620 She seemed like very unhinged
00:09:35.560 from what I'm reading in these documents.
00:09:37.520 And that's probably one of the reasons
00:09:39.280 why so many big stars chose to leave her.
00:09:42.360 One of them being Dwayne Johnson, The Rock.
00:09:45.300 Another one, Jeff Bezos and his wife,
00:09:48.380 Lainey Wilson, Chris Hemsworth,
00:09:51.240 and Wheels Up, Ocean Spray, and Partake Foods
00:09:54.240 all left Stephanie Jones or Jones Works.
00:09:57.900 And she started to really freak out.
00:10:00.520 One of the things that she did with these people
00:10:02.660 who left her company, according to Jennifer Abel,
00:10:05.280 is to create fake social media accounts
00:10:07.640 and troll former employees and journalists
00:10:11.320 she deemed hostile.
00:10:13.340 And one of them was a journalist from Puck,
00:10:16.160 Matt Bologna.
00:10:17.680 She was apparently obsessed with him.
00:10:19.960 And Jennifer said here that she also witnessed
00:10:22.180 that Stephanie Jones was working with journalists
00:10:24.600 to plant and contribute to negative stories

00:11:08.180 an attorney, and a forensic data technician
00:11:10.700 to take Jennifer Abel's phone from her.
00:11:13.980 They said this is our company's phone

00:11:21.020 She kept her old number that she had from high school,
00:11:24.520 but they said this is physically ours.

00:12:17.820 She has shared Jennifer Abel's private communications
00:12:21.920 with a lot of people in the office.
00:12:25.300 Anyways, so the friction really started
00:12:27.660 when Jennifer Abel said to Stephanie Jones,
