00:00:00.000 Now we know why they wanted to hide this conversation from the public.
00:00:10.400 Hi and welcome to Flossom Talk, I'm Sash T. Floor, journalist, Hollywood truth teller,
00:00:14.980 and your voice of reason in a town built on delusion. Okay, this is pretty embarrassing
00:00:20.700 for both Blake Lively and her attorneys. Now we know why they wanted to hide this conversation
00:00:27.720 from the public. And also, let's look at the stupidity of some of the people who were dragged 1.00
00:00:34.420 into this lawsuit, why they could not stop talking. I mean, this is nuts. In the meantime, 1.00
00:00:41.680 the media reports on Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds facing fresh backlash in Hollywood,
00:00:48.060 and how Ryan is furious with his former employer because he feels betrayed. Also, did Reese
00:00:55.920 Witherspoon just defend Justin Baldoni? Let's look into it. Okay, let's talk about Reese Witherspoon
00:01:01.980 quickly first. Thank you so much, Karina, for sending me this little clip that Reese Witherspoon
00:01:07.100 just posted on her Instagram, talking about an interview that Ashley Podilla, the comedian and
00:01:14.300 actress, did with GQ very recently. And she was celebrating Ashley's speech about positivity.
00:01:21.880 I just love this video so much because I feel the same way.
00:01:25.580 I feel like every morning I try to wake up and think about what's great.
00:01:29.360 But also like five years ago or maybe like three minutes ago,
00:01:32.580 everybody was talking about toxic positivity.
00:01:34.840 So it felt like bad to be positive.
00:01:38.420 It's normalized just being so positive.
00:01:40.460 It feels like a positivity tornado.
00:01:44.420 Yeah, she said like five years ago, maybe just three minutes ago,
00:01:48.020 everybody was talking about toxic positivity.
00:01:51.880 and it felt bad to be positive. The term toxic positivity popped up so many times in the legal
00:02:00.840 feud between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. You might remember that he was accused of toxic
00:02:08.260 positivity and a set where there was a culture of hugging all these awful awful things. Anyways I
00:02:16.640 love that she said that. And for me personally, I don't understand how positivity can be toxic.
00:02:23.340 If you feel that the positivity is toxic, then maybe the positivity is fake to begin with. And
00:02:30.840 then it's not real positivity. Really ridiculous to attack people for being positive. It's the
00:02:36.840 dumbest thing ever. It's also funny because I remember a lot of people were talking about how 1.00
00:02:42.280 Ryan Reynolds wanted to make Blake Lively into the next Reese Witherspoon. He wanted her to have
00:02:47.840 her own production company. As you might know, Reese Witherspoon sold her production company 1.00
00:02:53.280 Sunshine for like a billion dollars or something like that. It was crazy. She got so much money 0.98
00:02:59.020 for that company. She is a really successful businesswoman. She actually just bought back
00:03:03.960 that company for a friction of the price that she sold it for. Anyways, that never happened
00:03:09.440 with B for Effort, which was Blake Lively's production company that never produced
00:03:14.620 anything. And as you know, her other business endeavors didn't really work out either. Her
00:03:20.340 hair care brand is a total disaster. And so are Betty Buzz and Betty Boos. And as you might
00:03:25.700 remember, she also tried to do like a goop thing, like a Gwyneth Paltrow inspired lifestyle brand,
00:03:32.040 which also was a total disaster.
00:03:34.960 Rhys did actually take a dig at Blake Lively at the MTV Movie Awards about 15 years ago.
00:03:41.960 That was just after some very intimate photos of Blake Lively leaked.
00:03:47.620 And of course, her then publicist, Leslie Sloan, came out and said it was all fake.
00:03:52.420 And everyone's like, yeah, really?
00:03:54.720 Anyways, Rhys with a spoon said this in her acceptance speech.
00:03:59.080 um like if you took naked pictures of yourself on your cell phone you hide your face people like
00:04:04.140 anyways let's look at these unsealed messages there is a bunch of them i haven't been able
00:04:13.220 to go through all of it yet but it looks like most of what's been unsealed so far is from
00:04:20.780 stephanie jones if you follow the blake lively legal drama you know that they settled back in
00:04:26.740 May of this year, about two weeks before they were expected to go to trial. And now the judge
00:04:31.620 has said, hey, I'm cleaning up the court docket here. I want everything to be unsealed. And he
00:04:36.760 gave them a deadline to respond to this. And now new documents have started to pop up. I'm sure we
00:04:42.800 haven't seen half of it yet, but I'll share with you what I found the most interesting in this
00:04:47.160 first batch. So there is a text exchange here between Melissa Nathan, who was hired to do
00:04:54.100 crisis management for Justin Baldoni and the Daily Mail reporter James Vitushka. So as you
00:05:02.880 might know, if you follow this closely, James Vitushka was fired by the Daily Mail because he
00:05:08.940 got dragged into this legal feud and now he's actually suing the Daily Mail for firing him.
00:05:15.560 I've talked about that in previous episodes, but anyways, this is interesting on so many levels.
00:05:20.600 First of all, I was pretty shocked when I realized the date of these text messages.
00:05:28.240 So as you know, Blake Lively sued Justin Baldoni and the Wayfair parties, including
00:05:33.040 Miss Melissa Nathan, in December of 2024.
00:05:39.000 And Justin Baldoni responded to that lawsuit in January of 2025.
00:05:45.020 and then at the same time he released all his evidence on a public website at this point
00:05:52.760 text messages from melissa nathan were already printed in the new york times so she obviously
00:06:01.080 knew that everything that she put in writing at this point could become public they're even
00:06:08.480 talking about that in this text exchange and that's why i'm like what were you guys thinking
00:06:14.340 James Tvitushka, the reporter at the Daily Mail, even says here in this text exchange that he's been called into the office to the HR department at the Daily Mail and they're threatening to sue him because he allowed his text messages to appear in the lawsuit.
00:06:33.440 He should not be involved in a celebrity lawsuit like this.
00:06:37.520 and he's telling Melissa Nathan about that and they were threatening him that if he gets more
00:06:43.020 involved you know then he'll get fired and then he sends text messages to Justin Boldon his crisis
00:06:48.980 manager about this doing exactly the opposite of what the Daily Mail told him to do if you want to
00:06:55.800 keep your job stop getting involved and Melissa Nathan who already had her text messages revealed
00:07:02.360 in that New York Times article she's also putting things in writing here and interestingly enough
00:07:08.900 this conversation was sealed by Blake Wively and now I'm starting to understand why so this is a
00:07:15.540 conversation between Melissa Nathan and James Vitushka after Justin Baldoni had released the
00:07:22.380 video from the dancing scene and we could all see that these were two actors and he was in a director
00:07:28.920 role directing his actress to do a slow dance and pretend that they're falling in love blah blah blah
00:07:36.280 and they win oh my gosh we don't shut up and emily and i have like we have these moments
00:07:42.800 staring literally for we've done it for like five minutes it's like i think you would find it
00:07:49.320 terrifying it's literally we just literally do each other and like time on a sociotab and time
00:07:54.320 stops yeah but like it's that's just how it's been for us from the beginning no we're like oh my god
00:07:58.720 And the Daily Mail reporter reacted to this and sent this message to Melissa Nathan.
00:08:15.460 He said, and it does not matter anyway.
00:08:18.240 Both their careers are over.
00:08:20.200 And all you did was tell the truth.
00:08:23.240 Talking about Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds here.
00:08:25.920 And then he says, I guarantee you he divorces her over this because I guarantee you she lied to him about what happened.
00:08:35.780 So he's talking about how Ryan Reynolds will divorce Blake Lively and that she probably lied to him about what happened on that day on the dancing scene.
00:08:47.100 She probably told Ryan, her husband, that Justin was being so inappropriate with her
00:08:53.860 because, you know, Ryan Reynolds wasn't there.
00:08:56.260 So who knows how Blake actually explained to Ryan what had happened on the set that
00:09:02.240 day if she lied about it or if the two of them actually collaborated on this whole SH
00:09:09.380 scenario, making it look like Blake Lively was SH'd by Justin Baldoni.
00:09:14.400 I'm not sure where the truth lays there
00:09:17.580 If Blake Lively made it look like that
00:09:20.820 Or told Ryan about it
00:09:22.260 Some people speculated if she developed feelings for Justin
00:09:26.160 I don't know
00:09:27.240 When you saw the way she texted about Justin
00:09:29.840 To Taylor calling him a doofus director 0.98
00:09:33.600 A clown 0.98
00:09:34.720 I mean that could mean that she was trying to distance herself 0.95
00:09:38.040 And her feelings for Justin 0.90
00:09:40.100 By calling him a clown 0.93
00:09:41.900 And trying to convince herself 0.86
00:09:43.460 that she was not attracted to him or she wasn't attracted to him at all.
00:09:48.600 We don't know these details yet.
00:09:50.680 We don't know if Ryan actually believed that his wife was in danger 1.00
00:09:56.680 because she was being S-H'd on this set every day. 1.00
00:09:59.920 A part of me is saying that he actually believed it 0.99
00:10:02.940 because otherwise, why would he go so strongly out against Justin?
00:10:08.280 It just doesn't make any sense that he would get so furious with Justin
00:10:13.720 if he didn't believe that he was being inappropriate with his wife.
00:10:20.260 Anyways, this text exchange continues here
00:10:22.480 when Melissa Nathan is sending James Futushka at the Daily Mail a TMZ article
00:10:27.600 where Blake lively comes out and defends herself
00:10:31.620 against this leaked dancing scene footage.
00:10:36.000 And this is so funny, I'm just going to repeat what they said in their defense of what really happened in that dancing scene.
00:10:43.560 So her attorneys came out and say, well, it might seem like they were merely actors acting out a scene that's supposed to depict them falling in love.
00:10:52.220 Blake's team points out none of the intimacy was discussed or choreographed, as they put it.
00:10:59.780 Every moment of this was improvised by Mr. Baldoni with no discussion or consent in advance
00:11:07.020 and no intimacy coordinator present. Mr. Baldoni was not only Miss Lively's co-star but the director,
00:11:13.780 the head of studio and Miss Lively's boss. After everything we learned and after watching this with
00:11:21.000 our own eyes everyone saw what happened and also it's so funny how they mention an intimacy
00:11:26.080 coordinator. No one in Hollywood has an intimacy coordinator on set when two actors are going to
00:11:32.980 pretend they fall in love with not even kissing. They weren't actually kissing. And then James
00:11:39.800 Vituska, the reporter, continues to say, effing kidding me. There's not one person on earth that
00:11:45.320 believes this. She's an idiot. She should stop while she's ahead. Does she not realize that in 1.00
00:11:51.100 court. If you get caught in one lie, everything you say is irrelevant. Just one lie. And that's
00:11:58.840 coming from James Svituska, who signed a sworn statement that he later retracted, admitting that
00:12:07.940 he was pressured into telling something that wasn't true. So that's really interesting that
00:12:12.800 it's coming from him. But anyway, I believe this is one of the reasons that Blake Lively did not
00:12:17.280 want this to become public. Because here you see a reporter who has made up his own mind about
00:12:23.920 Blake Lively. He does not like her. He does not believe that she has a case. He believes that she
00:12:30.900 is lying. He personally believes that. He is not influenced by Justin Baldoni's crisis PR manager
00:12:39.820 to have those opinions, which goes totally against what Blake Lively's team has been trying to 0.99
00:12:46.380 convince us and he continues to say that Blake just makes herself look stupid now and then James 0.71
00:12:52.880 goes on to say that he is super excited about testifying and they talk about what he's going to 0.73
00:12:58.080 wear and then he says court of public opinion of everyone on planet earth doesn't believe her at
00:13:06.080 all outlets now printing hunky Baldoni beach pics he does look hotter once you look at him more he
00:13:14.240 he says. And then he says this, and this is why I believe that like liveless attorneys wanted to
00:13:20.120 keep this sealed. Maybe it is attorneys trying to milk them for money. They're not stupid. They
00:13:26.780 can't possibly think they have a case. Now I don't get it. It makes no sense at this point.
00:13:32.940 It's just give up. And then Melissa says, I'm super exhausted. And he says, I'm sure
00:13:38.620 it's over soon i can feel it i'm a psychic he's saying well it was far from over we know that now
00:13:45.400 so james vituska is not a psychic but i do find this whole text exchange so astonishing on so
00:13:52.220 many levels as i said why on earth would they continue sending text messages like this to each
00:13:59.500 other did they want these text messages to become public because they knew the chances of that
00:14:05.680 happening was pretty big and James is just sitting here trashing Blake Lively when seeing this
00:14:12.700 exchange from it was on January 21st of 2025 between the two of them now I'm thinking did
00:14:21.500 Melissa just want to lure James into saying all these horrible things about Blake because she knew
00:14:28.080 that that might become public and that's why she's saying to him hey it's all organic you know
00:14:34.280 we didn't do anything she's not sharing as much as he is sharing here yeah so who knows but i'm
00:14:42.680 sure brian friedman her attorney told her not to put any more in writing that they did not want to
00:14:49.640 become public at this point yeah let me know what you think about this these two people having this
00:14:55.640 conversation after both parties had filed their lawsuit don't you find that pretty astonishing
00:15:02.420 And why do you think that Blake's attorneys wanted to keep this sealed?
00:15:06.240 Or was it Blake Lively herself?
00:15:07.700 Maybe because this reporter says that she's done and her and Ryan are done in Hollywood
00:15:12.900 and they're getting a divorce.
00:15:15.260 I don't know.
00:15:16.040 Anyways, let's talk about these news articles about Blake and Ryan and how they're struggling
00:15:20.640 right now.
00:15:21.500 But before we get into that, a big thank you to the sponsor of this video, Jones Road

00:16:48.280 So please support my show and tell them that I sent you.
00:16:52.700 Okay, so let's get back into it.
00:16:54.800 Radar Online just had this article about Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' reputation in Hollywood right now
00:17:01.040 that I found quite interesting.
00:17:02.660 They've spoken to a few sources here.
00:17:05.540 And the headline says Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds face fresh Hollywood backlash.
00:17:10.440 I don't know how fresh it is, but let's see.
00:17:13.320 It says that Blake and Ryan were once Hollywood storybook couple,
00:17:17.160 But now they're finding themselves on the outside looking in as their legal war, leaked text and wrecked celebrity relationships have poisoned them with former pals.
00:17:27.680 And then there's a sourcer saying that two years ago, having Blake and Ryan at your party made you look important.
00:17:33.700 Today, having them there might make people uncomfortable.
00:17:37.760 Definitely.
00:17:38.760 Can you imagine if you were another celebrity and Blake Lively's at the party walking over to you and she has her cell phone with her like,
00:17:46.480 hey let's take a selfie oh my god i can't imagine anyone want to find themselves in that situation
00:17:52.160 and then they talk about her legal feud here and ryan reynolds who just turned 50 and that his
00:17:57.800 text messages pressuring sony were just unsealed and made public and that's really uncomfortable
00:18:04.740 for him and here they have a source close to ryan reynolds who says that it's no secret that the
00:18:10.160 actor was trying to protect his wife, who he believed was being targeted by a crisis PR team
00:18:16.760 hired by Boldoni. Yes, that's no secret anymore that he was trying to do that. And then they're
00:18:22.920 saying here the messages were meant to be private, but industry insider said they're an embarrassing
00:18:28.520 reminder that nobody wants their own behind the scenes chatter dragged into the next Hollywood
00:18:33.960 courtroom circus. Reynolds' fiery defense of Lively isn't the only headache. It says here that
00:18:41.420 insiders said the couple feels unfairly abandoned and remains convinced Lively's allegations deserve
00:18:47.840 to be taken more seriously. Yeah, as I reported on last week, she's even become a term, a horror term
00:18:55.300 in Hollywood now. We have a Blake Lively situation. Remember that article last week where Jennifer
00:19:01.720 Lopez was accused of doing a Blake Lively. Yeah, that is going to be Blake's legacy from now.
00:19:08.700 Anyways, it continues there. Still, insiders said their social and professional stock in Hollywood
00:19:13.660 has plunged, with insiders warning that powerful players are increasingly wary of the complications
00:19:20.900 that come with working with them. And here's another insider talking about Ryan, saying the
00:19:26.800 controversy has left a stain on his reputation and marketability. Hollywood's loyalty has never
00:19:32.160 been about friendship, fairness or principle. It follows the money. Right now Blake and Ryan are
00:19:37.920 discovering just how quickly the winds can change. And there is another article talking about how
00:19:45.780 Blake and Ryan are furious with Disney because Justin Baldoni and his lovely wife Emily all of
00:19:54.600 a sudden showed up as audience members at Dancing with the Stars. And according to Page Six,
00:20:01.020 Justin and Emily and their children were invited to attend as special guests by Julian Hough,
00:20:09.220 who is a longtime family friend. I'm sure you saw the videos and photos of them being amongst
00:20:14.880 the audience, and everyone was going crazy, like, look who's there. Anyways, of course,
00:20:20.240 Blake and Ryan did not like that when Justin and Emily showed up somewhere, everyone was super
00:20:25.760 excited about it. And it says here that Lively and Reynolds are reportedly furious over Baldoni's
00:20:31.680 appearance at Dancing with the Stars. The hit dance competition airs on ABC, which is owned by
00:20:37.360 Disney, the same company that helped make Reynolds a superhero superstar. And it says here, Ryan made
00:20:44.860 Disney, hundreds of millions with Deadpool, and this is how they repay him? They expected loyalty,
00:20:50.840 not a front row welcome for the man they've been fighting. According to the source, Lively and
00:20:55.800 Reynolds claimed Baldoni's appearance felt like a slap in the face, and now they want Hollywood to
00:21:00.820 choose sides. They see this as betrayal. In their world, you cannot be friends with Justin and still
00:21:08.280 be loyal to them. And they continue here saying another insider noted that Lively and Reynolds'
00:21:13.120 biggest fear is Baldoni being welcomed back into the industry with open arms while Lively is
00:21:18.740 struggling to repair her own reputation. And they say Justin is on ABC smiling with his family while
00:21:25.440 they're furious behind closed doors. That's what really stings. And then the source said that Lively
00:21:32.040 might eventually need dancing with the stars more than Justin does. So true. I don't know if all
00:21:39.120 these insiders here exist but I'm sure that this is how Blake and Ryan felt when they saw that
00:21:46.720 Justin and Emily was on Dancing with the Stars can you imagine if Blake and Ryan showed up there
00:21:51.240 what the comment sections would look like and talking about Deadpool there was an article in
00:21:55.600 Forbes the other day talking about how Deadpool the movie went so dramatically over budget they
00:22:02.620 ended up making a lot of money on it anyways but of course people are asking was that because
00:22:08.580 Ryan Reynolds made so many changes to the script and maybe also because he added nice pool at the
00:22:15.220 end and needed to reshoot a lot of stuff because he wanted to add a character in there to mock
00:22:21.180 Justin Baldoni publicly I don't know we haven't got the breakdown from that yet remember the
00:22:27.560 Wayfair parties and Justin wanted to actually subpoena Disney over what had happened when they
