00:00:00.000 When I looked at those text messages again between Blake and Taylor, I found out something really disturbing.
00:00:12.340 Hi and welcome to Flossom Talk. I'm Jashti Flohr, journalist, Hollywood truth teller and your voice of reason in a town built on delusion.
00:00:20.700 First of all, thank you to everyone who watched my interview yesterday with Sami, the publicist who gave her opinions about this case
00:00:28.240 and also her opinion about the publicists who've been involved in this legal drama.
00:00:34.040 She's been as shocked as everyone else to learn about some of these unethical methods.
00:00:38.560 So if you missed that episode, you should really go and watch that.
00:00:41.540 She's amazing and she deserves all the love that you gave her.
00:00:45.120 Again, thank you so much for being so nice in the comment section as always.
00:00:49.420 Anyways, in this episode, I wanted to go through some of those text messages between Blake and Justin.
00:00:54.480 Now we have a clear timeline on how things went down.
00:00:59.200 And when I looked at those text messages again between Blake and Taylor, I found out something really disturbing.
00:01:07.260 And that is what happened the day before they sent those text messages.
00:01:11.760 You got to see this.
00:01:13.360 Also, there are texts between Blake and Justin where Justin suggests that Blake should direct the sequel.
00:01:21.740 And that happened already in January of 2023.
00:01:26.740 So why did she have to steal the movie then?
00:01:29.460 And this weekend, I finally got around to watch the number one Netflix show right now, America's Next Top Models.
00:01:38.040 If you haven't noticed, Tyra Banks is the new villain in town.
00:01:41.980 So I want to talk a little bit about that as well.
00:01:44.560 Anyways, big shout out to AssholeMedia.com.
00:01:47.940 Every time I have to mention that name, it makes me laugh.
00:01:50.080 But they made this amazing timeline that makes it possible for everyone to go through every step of what happened in this legal feud.
00:02:01.320 I'll leave a link below so you can also go in there and do your own research if you're interested in that.
00:02:07.520 I was thinking I should do an entire video, go through the entire timeline.
00:02:11.540 Some people have asked me to do that.
00:02:13.460 So, but that's going to be a long one.
00:02:15.100 So I need to figure out a way to make that happen.
00:02:17.620 But anyways, so she made this timeline and it made me look at the text messages between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni again.
00:02:27.140 I wanted to read this text between them from January of 2023.
00:02:33.080 So remember, they didn't start shooting until May 2023.
00:02:37.220 So this is a few months before they started shooting.
00:02:40.000 And it seems like these two are the best friends in the whole world.
00:02:46.340 And it also proves how open Justin was to all of Blake Lively's suggestions.
00:02:52.180 It starts off here with Blake saying, was it your birthday two days ago?
00:02:56.340 And Justin says, and Blake responds, also, thank you.
00:03:00.800 And Emily, please send me her number.
00:03:02.880 Those postnatal gifts.
00:03:04.780 And then she's like crying.
00:03:06.980 And so it means that they sent her some gifts, probably, because Justin says, oh, they came.
00:03:12.760 Yay.
00:03:13.580 And then he says, we told our kids today they will have some friends in New York when we go.
00:03:18.060 And they were super excited.
00:03:20.100 So they were planning for the kids to hang out together.
00:03:23.500 And Blake is asking for Emily's number.
00:03:27.100 And Blake is saying they sure will.
00:03:29.620 Full kibbutz.
00:03:30.600 And then she asks, what's her last name?
00:03:33.020 Emily's last name.
00:03:34.100 And Justin says, Emily Baldoni.
00:03:36.860 And he added her choice to say that it wasn't his choice that she should have his last name.
00:03:43.420 And then Blake says, I didn't want to assume.
00:03:46.700 And then she's like giving him an emoji, smiley face.
00:03:50.540 And she says, I am Reynolds.
00:03:53.000 My choice.
00:03:54.460 He cried, she says, of Ryan that she took his last name.
00:03:58.940 She doesn't use it, though.
00:04:00.100 So what was really the point of taking his last name?
00:04:02.220 But anyways, Justin says, now that's a man.
00:04:05.780 Wimp, says Blake Lively of her husband, Ryan.
00:04:09.780 And Justin says, I keep hearing how excited people are for you to be Lily.
00:04:13.160 I'm so happy.
00:04:14.520 Colleen is on cloud nine.
00:04:16.800 Ha ha ha.
00:04:17.980 Did Matthias text you back, by the way?
00:04:20.120 So they're talking about a collaborator here called Matthias.
00:04:23.740 And Blake says, I haven't had a chance to write him today.
00:04:27.200 Literally doing it now.
00:04:28.920 And Justin keeps talking about all the people that they hired.
00:04:32.720 And he's running everything by Blake.
00:04:35.300 That's a thing to notice here.
00:04:37.160 He is keeping her in the loop of everything from the beginning, from before they start shooting.
00:04:43.040 And he obviously looked at her as a collaborator on the same level as himself here.
00:04:48.080 So he said that he hired a PD who also did Coda, another movie, which he loved.
00:04:53.820 And she's and this is so wonderful.
00:04:55.700 She's a gem.
00:04:56.940 And then it's just some chit chatting here.
00:04:59.240 And then Justin's telling her, I'm doing notes over the next two weeks.
00:05:03.400 And he said, I would offer.
00:05:04.940 And Blake loves that.
00:05:06.560 And Justin says, I would welcome any that you have.
00:05:10.140 So he's telling her he's welcoming any of her thoughts.
00:05:13.680 And she says, we'll read.
00:05:15.380 I loved so much.
00:05:16.940 And then Blake says, our sweet assistant who wants to be a producer read.
00:05:21.420 And she actually had a great note that she shared with me.
00:05:24.520 I'll buy worded a little clunky.
00:05:26.100 And the formality reads more cold than she is.
00:05:29.120 And it's actually something I felt when reading, but forgot to articulate.
00:05:33.420 So she also thought about this, but it was actually her assistant who thought about it.
00:05:38.060 It's so funny how Blake never comes up with ideas herself.
00:05:41.900 It's always either Ryan and now it's her assistant who came up with it.
00:05:45.520 At least she's giving her assistant cred.
00:05:47.700 In contrast to what she said about the rooftop scene, which she also claims was her idea.
00:05:51.980 Anyways, so she's copying and pasting what her assistant believes in this text to Justin saying,
00:05:58.920 I think when Alyssa and Lily meet, Alyssa is played by Jenny Slate in the film.
00:06:04.340 And they meet when Jenny Slate's character just like stops by her shop while she is starting to like redecorate it.
00:06:12.200 She just got the shop and the two of them become friends.
00:06:16.260 It's a really weird and so unrealistic moment, by the way.
00:06:19.780 But anyways, her assistant, Blake's assistant here said that Alyssa should say her business partner dropped out or something
00:06:27.400 rather than her saying that she bought a place with no plan for it.
00:06:32.740 I don't understand what she's talking about here.
00:06:34.680 Alyssa should say her business partner dropped out or something rather than her saying that she bought the place with no plan for it.
00:06:42.140 So apparently then Alyssa also bought a place.
00:06:45.580 I don't understand that.
00:06:46.640 Let me know if you know what she's talking about here.
00:06:48.520 It just feels unrealistic and also makes her feel like some rich girl that we are set up not to like when we really do love Alyssa's character.
00:06:57.880 That's when you know that this wasn't coming from Blake herself because she would never say that this feels like some rich girl that we are set up not to like.
00:07:07.560 I wonder if her assistant planted a little Easter egg here to have a dig at Blake Lively herself.
00:07:12.500 But anyways, we don't see any of them putting any work into the shop.
00:07:16.060 We just see when it's done.
00:07:17.840 I feel like maybe a quick montage of them putting work into it would be nice, especially because this dream,
00:07:24.160 especially because this dream of this flower shop has been a dream of Lily's for so long.
00:07:29.680 There's also, there also should be a few small hiccups in the process.
00:07:33.780 It seems like Justin listened to this because I remember vaguely from the movie that they did do some work together in the flower shop.
00:07:43.260 When she got the location, it looked like a mess and she renovated it and Jenny Slate's character helped her do that.
00:07:50.900 So it seems like to me that Justin listened to her notes and Justin responds, putting kids down, will respond shortly.
00:07:57.000 And then she says, you don't have to reply, enjoy your babies, email sent to Matthias, this other guy, and happy belated birthday.
00:08:04.220 And Justin says, you couldn't know it was my birthday.
00:08:07.260 We don't Google our friends, remember?
00:08:09.520 And then like a winky, and then just like a winky smile.
00:08:13.420 And she says, well played.
00:08:15.420 So they obviously talked about something like that.
00:08:18.160 And then Justin says, side note, was just thinking, dot, dot, dot.
00:08:22.500 If we ever end up doing a sequel together, you should direct it.
00:08:27.380 This is sent on January 26, 2023, way before the fallout started, or I think the fallout started.
00:08:35.860 And way before they even started shooting the movie, he's suggesting even that she should direct the next one.
00:08:42.520 But that was not enough for Blake.
00:08:44.780 She needed to take over this movie as well.
00:08:48.140 And she says, stop, you're the best.
00:08:52.580 And Justin says, I mean it.
00:08:54.520 And Blake says, sends him a heart beyond.
00:08:57.440 Appreciate your partnership so much.
00:09:00.260 And Justin says, also, your text to Emily is so damn sweet.
00:09:04.820 I guess I need Ryan's number to balance it out.
00:09:07.860 I'll only harass him about pretty much everything he does that I'm a fan of once a day, XOXO night.
00:09:15.680 So Blake already got in touch with Emily, sending her sweet messages.
00:09:21.180 And now Justin is saying, I should do the same thing to Ryan.
00:09:25.280 And Blake responds to Justin about getting in touch with Ryan.
00:09:28.940 And she says, try not to fall too in love.
00:09:31.580 He's everything.
00:09:32.900 Yeah, we know that now.
00:09:34.440 Justin says, haha, I can't even too nervous.
00:09:37.520 He has to make the first move.
00:09:39.580 So sweet.
00:09:40.560 Can't wait to hang.
00:09:41.620 And congrats on the announcement.
00:09:43.420 I think it went swimmingly.
00:09:44.740 The fans are so excited.
00:09:46.900 And Colleen is thrilled.
00:09:48.580 Try to get some sleep, XOXO.
00:09:51.120 And here at the end, on the 27th of January, this is obviously taken from Blake's phone.
00:09:57.740 It looks like Taylor Swift kept a message, an audio message from Blake.
00:10:04.940 It says here, kept an audio message from you.
00:10:07.320 And it says SA.
00:10:08.440 And when you see text messages from SA on Blake's phone, they're always from Taylor Swift.
00:10:15.280 So she obviously sent an audio message to Taylor about 30 minutes after she ended this conversation with Justin.
00:10:24.900 I don't know what she said in that voice memo that has not been released, but maybe we will find out whenever this goes to trial.
00:10:32.320 Yeah, so Justin already suggested back in 2023 in January that Blake Lively should direct the sequel of the movie.
00:10:40.260 But that wasn't enough for Blake.
00:10:43.320 I remember him saying that when he was interviewed on the red carpet, that Blake should do the next movie.
00:10:49.120 But I thought he just said that because, you know, he wanted to make her happy and say like, I don't want anything to do with this.
00:10:55.800 But he did actually suggest it back then.
00:10:58.320 So yeah, what more did she want?
00:11:00.340 Anyways, so let's look into the text messages between Blake and Taylor again and what happened the day before.
00:11:08.400 But before we get into that, I wanted to send a big thank you to the sponsor of this video, Outskill.
00:11:14.700 Okay, so I have a confession to make.
00:11:16.660 I could not make this podcast without the help of AI.
00:11:21.420 It helps me organize court documents.
00:11:24.020 I use it to help me with research.
00:11:26.220 I use it to redefine scripts.
00:11:29.000 And I'm sure as you also do, I use it for my everyday life.
00:11:32.860 I use it to plan travels.
00:11:34.320 I use it for cooking.
00:11:35.600 I use it to compare investments.
00:11:37.180 And I also use it when I need to figure out how to repair something in the apartment.
00:11:41.820 And here are some interesting facts.
00:11:43.620 The most recent report from Forbes shows that employees who are using AI at work are earning 40% more than those who don't.
00:11:52.520 A guide has won $1 million by creating an AI film using VO3 on the stage of the 1 billion follower summit hosted by the UAE government.
00:12:01.680 And a 19-year-old girl runs an AI agency and earns $100,000 a month.
00:12:07.540 The AI employment paradox is alive.
00:12:10.900 And February matters because the early adapter's phase is over.
00:12:14.260 So the question is simple.
00:12:15.700 Will you watch this shift or will you win from it?
00:12:18.580 The shift is happening right now.
00:12:20.640 And here is a unique opportunity.
00:12:22.880 And this is the reason why I'm partnering with Outscale.
00:12:26.520 They're hosting a two-day AI mastermind this weekend for people like you and me.
00:12:32.000 16 hours of practical training.
00:12:34.660 And for the next 48 hours, you can join completely free.
00:12:38.060 Not just that, you will also learn how to profit from these new skills.
00:12:41.840 You'll learn how to build AI agents, automate workflow while you're asleep, and connect tools like Sheets, Notion, CRMs, and email into real systems.
00:12:53.840 People from this very training have launched AI-powered services that bring in $3,000 to $4,000 a week just by applying the system they're taught.
00:13:02.620 If you attend both days, you unlock premium bonuses.
00:13:05.320 That includes the AI Prompt Bible and the 2026 AI Survival Hackbook.
00:13:12.020 Seats are limited, but the first 1,000 people get 100% free access.
00:13:17.280 Grab your free seats through the link in my description and pin comments.
00:13:21.540 If you're using AI casually, it's time to use it strategically.
00:13:25.420 Okay, so thanks to this timeline, this really stood out to me.
00:13:29.760 When I was looking at the text exchange between Blake and Taylor,
00:13:33.880 when Blake asked Taylor to do her a favor when she arrived at the apartment when Justin was still there,
00:13:39.280 to tell him that she loved the rooftop scene and blah, blah, blah.
00:13:43.520 Anyways, the day before that text exchange, something really interesting happened.
00:13:50.040 This is the conversation that Blake and Justin had together.
00:13:54.660 So he's sharing with her some of the casting choices they have for some people in the movie, I'm guessing here.
00:14:02.940 And she says, thank you for sending and for the context.
00:14:06.620 When will you decide by?
00:14:08.440 And he says, the next few days, we can chat about it tomorrow.
00:14:11.400 Have a great night.
00:14:12.540 He sends that on the 11th of April of 2023.
00:14:16.380 And she liked that.
00:14:17.740 And she says, perfect.
00:14:19.180 I'll watch it.
00:14:20.140 We'll catch up tomorrow.
00:14:21.240 Then the next day, Justin says, morning for your mom, for the mom in the movie.
00:14:27.080 And this person passed.
00:14:29.200 And there's a name that's been taken out.
00:14:31.480 And that's a person that passed, didn't want the role.
00:14:34.760 I'd love to take a shot at.
00:14:36.500 And then it's another name there that we don't know.
00:14:39.140 But one of your thoughts first.
00:14:41.480 So they had some issues finding the right person to play Blake's mom in the movie.
00:14:46.140 And then Blake likes that suggestion that he comes up with.
00:14:49.260 She said, she's terrific.
00:14:50.400 We'd love to have her.
00:14:51.960 And thanks for asking.
00:14:53.920 She's so grateful that he keeps her in the loop with all his decisions all the time, obviously.
00:14:58.860 And that was at 10.55 a.m. in the morning.
00:15:03.020 And then Justin texts her again at 4.56 p.m.
00:15:09.840 So during that day, they had a meeting.
00:15:13.220 They had a meeting in person.
00:15:15.180 And Justin sends her a text saying that, thank you for letting me hold your baby.
00:15:21.360 Made my day.
00:15:23.560 So he was obviously at a meeting at Blake's place.
00:15:26.900 And she was there with her baby.
00:15:29.240 And she let him hold her baby.
00:15:32.100 I mean, according to her lawsuits, at this point, Blake had already pointed out that she
00:15:38.800 thought he was a creep because of that comment he made about circumcising a baby and that
00:15:45.500 he was circumcised, which she was completely shocked by and Ryan was shocked by.
00:15:51.280 But then after that, she let him hold her baby.
00:15:54.940 Who would do that if there's a man you don't trust?
00:15:57.800 Why would you let him hold your baby?
00:15:59.560 And then Justin says, can I connect you with Alex directly?
00:16:04.680 Alex was the producer of the movie.
00:16:07.140 She said in her deposition that she felt that Justin Baldoni was inappropriate sometimes because
00:16:12.480 he showed that he was frustrated on the set.
00:16:16.580 Anyways, he's asking Blake if he should connect the two of them together.
00:16:20.820 And Blake says, of course, thank you for wanting to.
00:16:23.240 You've got to send me those photos.
00:16:24.900 So she's not responding to the thing about Alex here, obviously.
00:16:28.480 She's responding to the fact that Justin was grateful that she let him hold her baby.
00:16:34.700 And she says, thank you for wanting to.
00:16:37.420 You've got to send me the photos.
00:16:39.460 So she wants to have the photos that she probably took with his phone of him and her baby.
00:16:47.100 Why would she want that if you thought that he was such a creep?
00:16:50.300 And then she says, please feel free to connect us.
00:16:53.280 We'd love her number.
00:16:54.320 She says about Alex, the producer.
00:16:58.700 And then she says, sorry we hung so much and didn't get as much work done.
00:17:03.020 Next time, we all get socially inspired and creative.
00:17:06.440 It's a hurricane, but fun.
00:17:08.660 So they obviously had so much fun together, hanging out together, that they didn't get
00:17:14.700 to talk enough about the movie, which means that she really likes his company, obviously.
00:17:20.720 Why would you make a business meeting into something so personal if you find the person
00:17:25.680 creepy or if you don't like him at all?
00:17:27.880 And then Justin says, you guys are so much fun.
00:17:30.500 I don't know if you guys is her and her baby or if Ryan was there too.
00:17:35.700 And they all had so much fun together, hanging out together.
00:17:38.960 Who knows?
00:17:40.260 And then Justin says, the smell.
00:17:42.080 Oh, so sweet.
00:17:43.580 I miss it.
00:17:44.460 He's talking about her baby and the baby smell.
00:17:48.140 So when you read this, you think that these people are really good friends that hang out
00:17:54.460 and they love hanging out with each other's kids, with each other's families.
00:17:58.480 It's such a bliss.
00:18:00.040 So it obviously seemed like they had plans to already meet again the next day because
00:18:05.900 on April 12th, the same day as they had this exchange where Justin said, thank you for letting
00:18:13.360 me hold your baby the day before, Blake sends this to Taylor saying, if you get her with this
00:18:21.440 dofus director of my movie is still here, I'll be ushering him out, but hope he's still
00:18:27.300 here.
00:18:28.000 Can you do me a huge favor?
00:18:29.280 I need help with him.
00:18:30.600 Can you tell him you're excited for the movie, that you read the book and what you're freaking
00:18:35.120 out over is the pages I sent you, what a magnetic scene that is or whatever description you're
00:18:41.160 comfortable with.
00:18:42.080 I'll send you the scene.
00:18:43.040 You don't have to read it, of course.
00:18:44.840 He's a clown and thinks he's a writer now and got this rewrite and told me he appreciates
00:18:50.880 my passion.
00:18:52.360 That's it.
00:18:53.300 Now, the next day, he is a clown and a doofus director.
00:18:59.420 And you know the rest of this conversation she had with Taylor, so I don't need to read
00:19:03.920 that once more.
00:19:04.820 How on earth could Justin have guessed that behind his back here, while she's having him
00:19:10.840 over for these like meetings, which turns into a social thing and he's holding her baby and
00:19:16.900 they're having so much fun together, behind his back, she is sending text messages to Taylor
00:19:23.180 saying that he is a clown and a doofus.
00:19:26.620 And then, as you know, after Taylor left the apartment, Blake sends her a message saying
00:19:31.120 this clown falling for all of it, but also resisting it.
00:19:35.680 And then Blake is sending Taylor a photo of Aladdin, just trying to mock him even more,
00:19:42.360 I'm guessing.
00:19:43.620 And just a reminder, she says this, the most bonkers part to me is him saying to you, he
00:19:48.040 doesn't know pop culture.
00:19:49.400 It made me more mad than anything he's done to me.
00:19:52.720 So at this point, she's claiming that he has done a lot of things to her.
00:19:57.860 Keep that in mind.
00:19:59.240 And still, she had him over the day before and had that meeting with him where they had
00:20:04.440 so much fun.
00:20:05.060 I mean, when you look at this timeline, which I'm so appreciative again over that someone
00:20:10.340 did, I mean, she's going to be torn apart by his lawyers in court.
00:20:16.260 How is anyone going to believe that she felt threatened by this guy?
00:20:20.140 It's so crazy.
00:20:21.660 And then she's trying to manipulate Taylor not to like him, saying that, oh, he didn't
00:20:26.640 really know much about you.
00:20:28.100 He doesn't know much about pop culture.
00:20:29.880 So she's trying her and she succeeded in turning Taylor against him when she's also
00:20:35.580 mentioning that he has this brand dissembling toxic masculinity.
00:20:40.240 He monetizes it.
00:20:41.720 He does TED Talks, but says that to you.
00:20:44.520 So he's saying that he can't be a feminist because he said to Taylor that he didn't know
00:20:49.540 much about pop culture and about her music, I guess.
00:20:52.880 I mean, what's the logic in that?
00:20:55.240 Not only is he it's so rude, but it's untrue.
00:20:58.660 The things the thing that enraged me is you are in an absolute league of your own in being
00:21:03.760 both the most popular artist alive and one of all time, but also the most respected and
00:21:09.740 rewarded.
00:21:10.440 So she's saying to her, you know, he was so rude to you.
00:21:14.580 So you should hate him, too, basically.
00:21:17.140 And and she says and she also said, I've been raging ever since, even though I know it
00:21:21.560 all comes from what you said perfectly.
00:21:23.620 He just wants to be in the room, but has to act like he doesn't.
00:21:27.700 And then she keeps trashing him throughout this entire exchange here.
00:21:31.440 Taylor doesn't respond any anymore after that.
00:21:34.500 She just said in the beginning that I won the lottery.
00:21:37.120 I won the lottery.
00:21:38.560 You are the coolest person in the world and you like me.
00:21:41.580 But apart from that, this entire exchange, as you remember, is only Blake trashing Justin.
00:21:47.480 So to make sure that Taylor is on her side completely here and starts hating Justin as
00:21:54.080 much as she does.
00:21:55.040 And we know she did.
00:21:56.840 Anyways, as I said in the beginning here, I just wanted to quickly go into this documentary
00:22:00.640 that's now number one on Netflix.
00:22:02.740 It's about America's Next Top Model and everyone is trashing Tyra Banks these days.
00:22:10.560 I watched all three episodes this weekend.
00:22:13.240 I remember when I was channel surfing that I stopped when it was on and I would watch an
00:22:18.260 episode here and there.
00:22:19.620 I didn't follow it.
00:22:20.940 But I do remember thinking like, oh, my God, this is harsh.
00:22:25.100 Tyra Banks was the brain behind the show.
00:22:28.000 And in this documentary, I think most people react to the fact that she doesn't take any
00:22:33.540 responsibility for what happened to these young girls.
00:22:38.340 To me, the entire concept of America's Next Top Model is just from the beginning.
00:22:44.360 It's so wrong because you bring in a lot of young girls and the premise is that you're
00:22:48.900 judging them on the way they look and on their bodies.
00:22:52.520 And in what world is that a healthy concept?
00:22:55.580 On top of that, you want drama.
00:22:58.800 So you push these girls into situations and keep in mind they're hungry probably all the
00:23:04.580 time.
00:23:05.100 And you put them in these situations where they have like these really strong reactions.
00:23:10.220 They're having their emotions exposed on television and they have no right to say anything about
00:23:16.880 the editing.
00:23:17.660 I feel it's a little unfair to blame everything on Tyra here.
00:23:21.660 There were editors on this show and you know that those editors wanted drama.
00:23:29.300 That was what was driving the show, the drama.
00:23:33.400 And they're saying that the public wanted more and more drama.
00:23:37.080 So we had to push the envelope further all the time.
00:23:40.220 But the way that some of these girls were portrayed was so unfair.
00:23:45.880 And I think some of the stuff that they put these girls through is appalling.
00:23:49.880 If you watched the show, I'm sure you know what I'm thinking about here.
00:23:54.300 They got some of the girls to pull out teeth in their mouths to close a gap, like physical
00:24:00.120 transformations like that.
00:24:01.680 Not only cutting off their hair, but actually pulling out.
00:24:04.640 I think she pulled out four teeth.
00:24:06.260 This poor girl.
00:24:07.300 And also the worst of the worst, which is this young, really innocent, sweet girl who got
00:24:14.380 so drunk that she blacked out when they went to a trip to Italy.
00:24:18.840 And one of the men that they had over at a party took advantage of her.
00:24:24.160 She wasn't in a position where she could even say no.
00:24:27.320 And they followed her.
00:24:28.940 The producers, the cameraman followed her and filmed everything.
00:24:33.240 And then the next day they filmed her having a conversation with her boyfriend, breaking
00:24:38.920 down on the floor, crying, admitting to him that she had cheated on him.
00:24:44.480 It is so heartbreaking.
00:24:46.580 And on top of that, she said in this documentary, because she's interviewed here amongst a lot
00:24:52.260 of the other contenders and Tyra Banks and the other judges, and she said that people
00:24:57.620 would yell at her on the street when they saw her after that.
00:25:01.700 And as we can see from the documentary, Tyra took advantage of this moment.
00:25:06.600 She even had her on her show and she started poking into it and showing this girl what happened
00:25:13.080 when she was taken advantage of.
00:25:15.280 This is like, she should have sued them for this, by the way.
00:25:18.160 And she's showing it to her in front of a live audience when she admits that she's never
00:25:22.960 seen it herself because it was so traumatizing for her.
00:25:26.340 And she's showing it in front of an audience and saying, hey, you cheated on your boyfriend.
00:25:30.540 Did it make you feel bad?
00:25:32.040 I mean, this could never have happened today.
00:25:35.480 And that's another thing about America's Next Top Model.
00:25:38.240 This happened 25 years ago.
00:25:41.380 And things were different then in terms of what was okay to say on television.
00:25:45.560 I think the fashion industry is probably the same as it was back then.
00:25:49.860 When you watch a catwalk today and the young girls walking a catwalk, they look exactly as
00:25:54.920 skinny as the girls were supposed to be in 25 years ago.
00:25:58.780 So I don't think that has changed at all.
00:26:01.240 But back then, the judges were trashing the girls for like gaining weight or saying like
00:26:07.000 you, you can never get work if you don't lose weight.
00:26:10.200 Look at your puffy stomach.
00:26:11.500 That's not acceptable.
00:26:12.800 And keep in mind, these girls were so young and a lot of them came from nothing.
00:26:18.140 They had big dreams.
00:26:19.260 This was like their once in a lifetime opportunity and they left their jobs at Walgreens and whatever
00:26:26.520 and they came to this show and they were accepted and then they were taking advantage of in the
00:26:32.300 worst ways possible.
00:26:33.700 The thing is, now we know that this entire concept was kind of a scam as well because no one wanted to hire
00:26:42.080 these people.
00:26:43.100 Even the ones who won the competition didn't get work afterwards because the fashion industry didn't want
00:26:49.320 models that came from a reality TV show.
00:26:52.120 So they went through all of this and then they ended up not even getting any deals with any model agencies.
00:26:58.780 I think that was probably the best thing that could have happened to these girls that they didn't
00:27:03.540 become a part of that industry.
00:27:05.660 I think it's one of the most brutal industries out there.
00:27:09.320 So I think that was kind of a blessing in disguise for some of these girls.
00:27:12.860 But as I said, I do find it a little unfair that Tyra Banks is getting all the heat here,
00:27:17.700 although I completely agree she should have taken more responsibility in this documentary.
00:27:23.220 She doesn't say she's really sorry about anything.
00:27:25.400 She's just saying, you know, it was different times and it was out of my control.
00:27:30.080 I was only an executive producer and the host and the big celebrity and the creator of the show.
00:27:36.960 But I didn't really know any better.
00:27:39.620 And it was over and there were decisions taken over my head.
00:27:42.880 But it's time to say you're sorry.
00:27:45.400 I do think that a lot of the judges as well.
00:27:48.280 Now they're touring around together, you know, making Tyra the big villain.
00:27:53.240 But I do think that they could have done more as well.
00:27:55.740 There are situations where the judges, they've been so cruel and so mean to some of these girls.
00:28:02.660 And the thing is, when someone says something really cruel to you when you are in a very vulnerable position,
00:28:09.240 when you're so young and you have all this pressure on you, that really sticks to you.
00:28:14.360 And that can stick to you for the rest of your life.
00:28:16.680 But I do think it's great that they're actually putting focus on these shows now.
00:28:21.460 But watching this documentary also raised some other questions like,
00:28:24.820 why do we enjoy watching people suffering on television?
00:28:28.640 It's really repulsive.
00:28:30.380 But I think a lot of the things that happen behind the scenes on this show as well,
00:28:34.360 a lot of the contestants on this show were so manipulated by the producers.
00:28:41.120 They were manipulated into having conflicts with each other,
00:28:44.800 having conflicts with people outside of the show.
00:28:47.580 They just wanted more and more drama.
00:28:49.880 And that's why I wanted to mention this one show that I watched.
00:28:53.740 I think it's four or five years since it came out.
00:28:56.180 It's called Unreal.
00:28:58.260 And I wanted to recommend that show because that show is written by one of the producers of The Bachelor.
00:29:05.520 This show is scripted and it's really good.
00:29:09.020 And when I watched it, I was so shocked.
00:29:11.780 Of course, this is scripted, as I said.
00:29:14.380 So it's really over-exaggerating a lot of the things.
00:29:17.160 But I read an interview with the creator of the show and she said a lot of the things that's in this show
00:29:23.180 really happened on The Bachelor.
00:29:26.280 The way they're creating drama is just mind-blowing to me.
00:29:31.460 So if you want to watch that show, it's on Apple TV and on Amazon Prime and it's called Unreal.
00:29:37.600 Yes, anyways, to get back to this documentary, I feel like there's the same issue with a lot of these reality show.
00:29:45.060 And that is that it's taking advantage of regular people who think that they're going to get a better life from attending these shows.
00:29:53.260 And they end up being really miserable after being so exposed and so used for entertainment.
00:30:00.300 And I'm sure a lot of these other reality shows, as I said, they probably have an NDA,
00:30:05.240 so they can't even talk about things that have happened behind the scenes.
00:30:08.740 But I'm sure there's a lot of very similar stories as the ones that we saw on America's Next Top Model.
00:30:14.900 Anyways, another thing that was really disappointing to hear is how Tyra treated her other colleagues, all the other judges.
00:30:22.860 They were all fired at season 20 or 22 or something like that, and she didn't really reach out to anyone.
00:30:29.680 She didn't reach out to one of the judges, Jay Alexander, who suffered from a stroke a few years ago,
00:30:37.660 and she didn't really reach out to him or ask him how he's doing.
00:30:40.940 And these are people that she's known, some of them, I think him, she's known since she was 16 years old.
00:30:47.820 I think it's really sad to see when you treat people so badly, people that have been so loyal to you.
00:30:53.900 And then you're saying, oh, my God, I couldn't help it.
00:30:56.540 When they wanted to fire you, I just had to do as they said.
00:31:00.960 Anyways, karma always works its way.
00:31:03.660 So now it's Tyra in the hot seat herself.
00:31:06.840 Let's see if there's going to be more stories coming out from this.
00:31:10.100 I think it's quite interesting, as I said.
00:31:12.100 But anyways, that's it for me today, you guys.
00:31:14.560 I hope you enjoyed this episode, and thank you so much for watching.
00:31:18.040 And if you haven't subscribed yet, please do hit the notification bell

00:31:24.500 Bye!
