00:00:37.820 I think it was so important for Ryan to be seen with Taylor and Travis. They were even a stronger

00:00:44.500 power couple than him and Blake. Hi and welcome to Flossom Talk. I'm Jashti Floor, journalist,

00:00:54.700 Hollywood truth teller and your voice of reason in a town built on the illusion.

00:00:58.800 As you probably hear, I have a cold still. I was trying to get rid of it this weekend,

00:01:03.960 but that didn't work. So, well, I'm still here and I'm going to try my best to get through this

00:01:08.880 episode. Anyways, this week something major is on the schedule for both parties. There is a

00:01:14.800 settlement conference on Wednesday on February 11th where both parties are meeting. They're supposed

00:01:21.840 to come to some sort of agreement or try to come to some sort of agreement so they don't have to meet

00:01:27.940 in court. I don't think that's going to happen at this point because I don't think the way fair

00:01:32.720 parties or Justin Baldoni are going to accept anything else from Blake Lively than a big apology

00:01:39.080 for her to say, hey, I made up all these SH claims so I could sue you for retaliation and I know that

00:01:45.940 that smear campaign was not you and Blake is not going to do that. And why would Justin settle for

00:01:52.160 anything less than that? He's already had his reputation dragged through the mud by Blake

00:01:57.240 and by not putting up a fight now or just like leaving this fight, that would just make him look

00:02:03.140 guilty. Also, there's more stories coming out now where Travis Kelsey is taking a step back from Blake

00:02:10.160 and Ryan. And it's said that he was the one who warned Taylor Swift about Blake. So I have a feeling

00:02:15.820 now that Taylor is using him to distance herself from Blake because it's so much less dangerous

00:02:22.640 for Travis to take a step back from Ryan Reynolds and say, I never liked the guy instead of Taylor

00:02:29.160 attacking Blake. It's so much better for a man to take a distance from another man than if Travis would

00:02:35.140 have said, I never liked Blake Lively. And they're also making sure that we know that Blake and Ryan

00:02:40.660 will never get an invitation to their wedding. Yeah, let's see what really happened behind the scenes

00:02:46.160 before the big fallout between Taylor and Blake. And Justin Baldoni has put his house on the market.

00:02:53.640 He has a house here in California in an area called Ojai, a beautiful area. And he's selling his house

00:03:01.220 there for $8.8 million. I think he bought it in 2020 for $2.2 million. But they obviously did a lot

00:03:09.080 of work on it. And the house looks so beautiful. I looked through some of the pictures. I was like,

00:03:14.520 wow, they have really good taste. I don't know if he's selling this because he needs the money.

00:03:19.800 Some people are speculating that's the reason why. But it could also be that they bought the place just

00:03:24.920 for an investment or that they decided to leave California altogether. As I said, I don't know the

00:03:29.700 reason for him selling it. But I do think it's an odd timing because now is not a good time to sell

00:03:35.320 anything. The market is terrible. So in that sense, it might be right that he needs the money.

00:03:40.820 Who knows? Okay, so let's get into this Travis Kelsey thing that I find very interesting. I think

00:03:45.420 this is a really smart PR thing that they're doing right now. So here's the story from Rob Shooter

00:03:51.400 saying that the Kansas City Chief, Travis, has long felt uneasy around Reynolds, finding him too

00:03:58.760 polished, too performative and too comfortable playing the charming guy in every room. Travis

00:04:05.980 just doesn't trust him. He thinks Ryan's always on and that rubs him the wrong way. The discomfort

00:04:12.680 became impossible to ignore during double dates with Taylor Swift and Blake Lively. Insiders say

00:04:19.000 Travis actively disliked the setup. So here's a video of them when they went on a double date. I think it

00:04:26.660 was so important for Ryan to be seen with Taylor and Travis. They were even a stronger power couple

00:04:33.280 than him and Blake. And as we know, for Ryan, image is everything. And he's also been using his

00:04:39.700 friendship with Taylor Swift several times. So I think it's almost worse for Ryan that Blake and

00:04:46.320 Taylor had a fallout than for Blake Lively herself. Another source is saying here that Travis hated the

00:04:52.540 double dating. He felt like it was all optics and no authenticity. While Reynolds leaned into jokes

00:04:59.460 and charm, Travis clocked it as calculated. Travis is blunt and real. Ryan is curated. That contrast

00:05:08.340 never worked. I agree. The impressions I have of Travis Kelsey is that he's just, you know, he's just a

00:05:15.380 regular guy in a sense. Of course, he's got all this money and success. He's a successful sportsman,

00:05:20.680 but he seems authentic to me. He seems like the type like what you see is what you get. And we know

00:05:26.840 for sure that Ryan Reynolds is not that. According to sources, it says Travis quietly tolerated the

00:05:33.040 situation for Taylor's sake, but he never warmed to Reynolds and never let his guard down. He kept his

00:05:39.840 distance emotionally. He didn't trust him enough to relax. As time went on, Travis became more vocal

00:05:45.960 privately around wanting fewer shared social moments. Travis didn't want any more double dating. He didn't

00:05:52.440 want forced hangouts or performative friendships. He wanted real people, real energy. Travis doesn't

00:05:59.260 fake it. If he doesn't like you, he won't play along. So while the Hollywood world may adore Ryan

00:06:05.240 Reynolds' charm offensive, Travis Kelsey was never buying what he was selling. Stories like this are

00:06:11.100 trying to position Travis Kelsey as the authentic, real guy. And he's the one on Taylor Swift's side.

00:06:19.880 And by taking a distance from Ryan, he's also taking a distance from Blake. And at the same time,

00:06:25.240 he's helping Taylor. I think they're trying to convince us here to say that, you know, Taylor was

00:06:31.480 kind of just like tricked into the situation. She's a victim here. And she's with this authentic guy

00:06:37.640 who is really valuing real values, not something fake as Ryan Reynolds. So as you remember, it was a

00:06:44.700 big deal last year when Travis unfollowed Ryan. That was on April 28th. So the fallout between Blake

00:06:52.800 and Taylor happened in between that New York Times article when that was published on December, I think

00:06:59.480 it was 20th of 2024 and April 28th of 2025. So there was four months there where that supposedly

00:07:07.640 happened. I think during that period of time, Ryan sent Travis Kelsey a lot of text messages trying

00:07:14.500 to pressure him into convincing Taylor to support Blake Lively publicly. That is so right up Ryan

00:07:21.420 Reynolds. Ali, you know, he did the same thing to Sony. He did the same thing to WME, his management

00:07:28.580 company. He put pressure on every player out there to try to save his wife. But what he didn't

00:07:34.800 realize is that Travis Kelsey never needed him. All these other people needed him for some reason

00:07:40.420 or another. He had some kind of power over them. But Travis Kelsey never needed Ryan. And when this

00:07:46.600 happened, Travis was like, I had enough. I'm unfollowing him. He is going to notice or the media is going

00:07:52.220 to notice. The sleuths are going to notice. And they did. And it became a big deal in the media

00:07:58.660 that Travis had unfollowed Ryan. And for the record, Ryan is still following Travis. But that was a big

00:08:05.900 message from Travis to Ryan. Don't F with us. You don't know what's coming for you. Step away from my

00:08:14.940 fiance or step away from my future wife. So at this point, Blake and Ryan were panicking. Because as I

00:08:22.200 said, they underestimated Justin Baldoni, they didn't think he would respond by suing them back

00:08:28.200 and releasing text messages where Blake was referring to Taylor as her dragon. They did not

00:08:34.920 see that coming. And it freaked them out. And it really pissed off Taylor Swift. So on May 14th,

00:08:41.680 just two weeks after Travis Kelsey unfollowed Ryan, Brian Friedman sent a letter to the judge,

00:08:49.260 a sworn statement saying that Blake's lawyer had tried to blackmail Taylor Swift. Well,

00:08:55.660 the next day, the judge struck that letter from the court records. But all of us had already seen it.

00:09:01.680 And I think that was the entire point of Brian Friedman filing that sworn statement. And it came

00:09:08.240 out later that it was Taylor Swift's dad who had actually leaked this information to Justin Baldoni's

00:09:15.060 attorney. At that point, we were all like, Oh, we love Taylor Swift because she's supporting Justin

00:09:21.180 Baldoni. And I think that's what she wanted at that point. She wanted us to believe that we were

00:09:27.300 that she was on team Justin and hoping that we will never see the text messages between her

00:09:33.520 and Blake. But of course, that's not how it went. And now we know that Taylor was more involved in this

00:09:40.780 movie and that she was supporting Blake and that she was talking trash about Justin Baldoni. And keep

00:09:47.020 in mind, on May 9th, Taylor Swift was served a subpoena by Justin Baldoni. So that was five days

00:09:54.680 prior to her sharing the information with Brian Friedman that Blake had tried to blackmail her.

00:10:02.760 Then after that sworn statement, Brian Friedman withdrew the subpoena to Taylor Swift. So at that

00:10:10.920 point, Justin Baldoni all of a sudden had Taylor Swift on his team, it seemed, until he knew the

00:10:18.460 truth. That was a pretty amazing power play. By the way, side note here, I see that Ryan at the moment

00:10:24.380 is frantically posting about Wrexham, his soccer team. Every story on his Instagram is about his

00:10:31.480 soccer team because he knows that those people, those are his real fans. They don't care about

00:10:37.120 all this drama. All they care about is soccer. So they're his safe space. And that's why he keeps

00:10:42.620 pushing that. I don't know if he's there all the time. It seems like he's attending all these

00:10:46.760 matches. So that means he's away from his family all the time, just going to soccer matches, taking

00:10:51.600 selfies and posting them on Instagram. I don't know. It's so obvious to me what he's doing because

00:10:57.460 he cannot stay away from social media. He has to publish something all the time. He needs the

00:11:04.700 validation constantly from people that, hey, I'm here. Don't forget about me. Although 80% of the

00:11:11.640 population now hates me, I know that this part of the population, the Wrexham fans are still there for

00:11:17.240 me. And another story came out this weekend. Again, making sure that we know that Blake and Ryan

00:11:25.300 are not welcome in Travis, to Travis and Taylor's wedding. So it says here that Taylor Swift has

00:11:32.660 made a firm decision not to invite Blake and her husband Ryan to her upcoming wedding. And make no

00:11:38.460 mistake, this is a hard no. They're not invited, period. Taylor wants a drama-free day and she no

00:11:45.620 longer trusts Blake and Ryan. Again, they're trying to distance themselves here, saying that we are not

00:11:51.920 bad people. We are distancing ourselves from these bad people and we are not the ones who are lying.

00:11:58.000 We are not the ones filing this crazy lawsuit. We are just victims. We are just random people who got

00:12:03.940 caught into all this mess and we want nothing to do with it. And again, they're saying here, you know,

00:12:09.140 Taylor felt exposed and violated across the line for her. There's no will she or won't she. She won't.

00:12:15.540 There's been an emotional gap for a long time, a source says, blah, blah, blah. We heard all of this so many

00:12:20.900 times before, but they keep pounding on it. Like they're not invited to our wedding. And you need

00:12:26.000 to know that. They're trying so hard to rebrand Taylor as a victim here. And the thing is, Taylor

00:12:31.840 can come out like this and take a stand against Blake and take a stand against Ryan and all that.

00:12:38.300 But Blake cannot do the same thing because first of all, Blake is in the middle of a lawsuit.

00:12:42.580 Everything she does can be used against her. And if Blake attacks Taylor, that's just going to make

00:12:48.200 her even more unpopular. So Blake can't defend herself against this. This is quite interesting,

00:12:54.040 actually. So whatever Taylor and Travis wants out there, they can just share that in whatever way

00:12:59.480 they want to. And Blake and Ryan had to sit there and just take it. On top of this, of course, we know

00:13:05.340 Taylor Swift released her new music video last week, which is another attempt for distraction.

00:13:10.760 Obviously, she wants us to look at the music video and not look at her friendship with Blake and the way

00:13:17.180 she treated Justin. So now she's flooding the algorithms online with all her fans raving over 1.00

00:13:23.840 this new music video with positive content in Taylor Swift's favor. It's so calculated. And we all know

00:13:30.600 that her PR machinery is really working. All right, that's it for me today, you guys. I wanted to go

00:13:35.280 through some more legal stuff in this episode, but my brain is a little mushed from this cold.

00:13:40.600 So I'm going to save that for tomorrow. Anyway, someone sent me these pictures from, I don't know

00:13:48.460 what store it is, but it is Betty Buzz on clearance, 20% off. I was posting about Blake Brown the other

00:13:56.560 day too. That's also on clearance at Target. It's at the bottom shelf. And it's just like, please,

00:14:02.300 we want this out of Target. And it seems like the same thing is happening to Betty Buzz and Betty

00:14:08.340 booze. So yes, and you know, according to Blake, it's all Justin's fault. Anyways, that's it for me,

00:14:14.640 you guys. Thank you so much for watching and thank you for your patience. I'm, as I said, I'll come back

00:14:20.020 stronger hopefully tomorrow. And of course, I'll keep you updated if anything huge happens. And again,

00:14:25.620 thanks for being here. And if you haven't subscribed yet, please do and hit the notification bell so you

00:14:30.320 never miss an episode of Laws of Talk. And I'll see you soon. Bye.
