00:00:00.000 There are so many things that are disturbing here.
00:00:08.800 Hi and welcome to Flossom Talk. I'm Särstief Lohr, journalist, Hollywood truth teller and your voice of reason in a town built on delusion.
00:00:17.820 Okay, I've been debating with myself all morning if I should talk about this case or not.
00:00:22.680 This case has nothing to do with Hollywood, except that a few people in Hollywood have shared their concerns and their opinions about what has happened.
00:00:32.700 So this is the story of a Jane Doe, an anonymous woman accusing seven men of R-ing her at the campus of Cornell University.
00:00:44.120 I can't say certain words here on YouTube, but I'm sure you can guess what it means.
00:00:49.560 So the reason why I wanted to talk about this case is because I saw a video done by Megyn Kelly
00:00:57.140 yesterday. I'm just going to be honest. She's not the most attractive gal. She's extremely
00:01:02.780 beefy. There are so many things that are disturbing here. But to hear another woman
00:01:10.620 saying something like that, I just have to talk about it. I was actually invited as a guest to
00:01:16.800 the Megyn Kelly show about six months ago to talk about Blake Lively and I declined the invitation
00:01:23.540 back then because I feel like a lot of her views don't align with mine and after hearing what she
00:01:29.920 said yesterday I have to say that I'm very glad that I did not. So if you're unfamiliar with this
00:01:36.940 case I will go through most of what we know so far. So this woman Jane Doe alleges that this
00:01:45.740 happen in October of 2024, she said that she was drugged and that she was gang-armed at Cornell
00:01:55.320 University. She accused seven fraternity members of doing this in a civil lawsuit that she filed
00:02:02.940 in September of this year, so about two years after the incident happened. In that lawsuit,
00:02:10.260 she attached a screenshot from a Snapchat. And in that screenshot, it is very clear that one of the
00:02:23.280 guys of this fraternity is inviting other men into a room where they are having sex with this woman. 0.94
00:02:32.300 So one of the men sent this text saying, free P word in Alem Poo, this is crazy work.
00:02:41.440 Another one responded, free dot dot dot, then another one responded, Diego went seven minutes
00:02:50.940 ago and it's not AFK, so meaning that one of the guys went seven minutes ago, he hasn't
00:02:59.360 returned yet that's what I'm guessing and then someone says I effing love Kai Pi which is the 0.96
00:03:05.160 name of this fraternity and then someone else here responds the alumnus slut is not a bit 0.62
00:03:14.300 first person pub not a bit not a bit means that it's not a joke it's a slang thing and then another 0.72
00:03:23.880 person responds here like you can walk in and whip it out. So basically this Snapchat is inviting
00:03:31.600 other men to come and join in on what's going on in this room. So the incident happened on October
00:03:38.180 19th or 20th that night and the woman did not report this to the police, to the university
00:03:46.500 police until November 8th. So about three weeks went by until she reported this to the police.
00:03:54.560 So at that time, the university did an investigation and they imposed some
00:04:00.640 disciplinary sanctions against some of these men, but they declined to criminally prosecute them.
00:04:09.860 And this is what has caused an uproar now, two years later.
00:04:15.540 So the university and everyone surrounding this case have been criticized for how they handled it back then.
00:04:22.320 And why were not any of these men held accountable?
00:04:25.000 It's still disputed how involved all of these men were.
00:04:30.300 But when this lawsuit was filed last month, people were horrified by the details of it.
00:04:36.320 The media has been covering it intensively and commentators online have digged into the details.
00:04:44.200 And the more we learn about this case, the more complex it becomes.
00:04:47.980 I've gone through these text messages and I will share them here as well because there are some contradictions here.
00:04:54.940 It seems like in these texts that the woman was consenting to what happened to her in the beginning of what happened to her with two other men.
00:05:05.460 there are text messages between her and some of these men after this incident occurred and also
00:05:13.160 how she suddenly changed her mind about her consent. So let's go through these text messages
00:05:19.460 and what happened before I get into what Megyn Kelly said that I found so disturbing. So as I
00:05:26.600 said there's been a lot of criticism online and from the media to Cornell for the way they handle
00:05:32.120 this when the woman brought these allegations the first time in 2024. And when the news broke a few
00:05:38.980 weeks ago and we saw some of these text messages, people jumped on it instantly and showed support
00:05:44.720 for the woman and demanded accountability from the university. Now we're seeing some more text
00:05:51.600 messages that makes this case a lot more blurry. And it's so easy, of course, to jump to conclusions
00:05:58.900 before we have all the facts and of course we don't have all the facts yet but now we're starting
00:06:05.100 to get more of a picture of what happened so this text message was sent from one of the defendants
00:06:15.300 she has named all the defendants in her lawsuit and this one is from Jonathan where he's saying
00:06:21.300 hi this is Jonathan um someone gave me your number I just want to apologize for how things went down
00:06:28.380 the other night my memory is kind of fuzzy about a lot of it but me and matt both feel like sick
00:06:35.560 for being too effed up to shut it down and kick people out before it got way out of hand you're
00:06:41.560 an amazing person and i genuinely hope you're not cashing as much heat from this as we are
00:06:47.380 we've been shutting down any stories we've heard about but again i am so sorry so this was sent
00:06:55.400 to the victim or to Jane Doe on October 21st, which is basically the next day or the day after
00:07:03.920 that warning. Then Jane Doe responds, ah, Jonathan, I really appreciate this text. My memory is super
00:07:12.480 clouded too. I think we were all way too effing drunk and high. I'm getting a little heat. Five
00:07:20.140 pie girls which is the name of fraternity and this person and this person can't get my name
00:07:26.740 out of their mouth but that's to be expected but at the end of the day none of the sexual stuff
00:07:33.040 was illegal and honestly I really liked being with you and Mats so anything anyone has to say
00:07:40.060 about the gang bee is out of their jurisdiction I don't think we should feel any shame for the part
00:07:47.500 our body our choice asf so of course when you see text messages like that you're like okay
00:07:56.020 she was in touch with these men and they all agreed that it was crazy what happened and they
00:08:03.260 didn't remember all of it because everyone was so intoxicated but it seems like she was on board
00:08:10.700 with what had happened then she sends another text message to jonathan where he says that also yes
00:08:17.920 while it may have been nice for like only four people to have been around y'all were both super
00:08:23.820 out of it and they should have taken it on themselves to leave at the end of the day you
00:08:28.960 matt and i were in your bed and they didn't need to get up in that so she's basically saying that
00:08:35.440 she was still okay with the two of them being in bed with her but then when other men started
00:08:40.940 arriving she wasn't okay with it. She continues to say but if you have any regrets or anything you
00:08:47.900 you want to talk about I'm always here to talk about it because that was a lot. I really do love
00:08:54.280 you and Matt and I promise I won't get quiet and weird with you like I did last time. So it seems
00:09:00.820 like it's not the first time that the three of them were together like this. And she's also
00:09:06.580 offering support to Jonathan after what happened and saying that, you know, if you want to talk
00:09:13.600 about it, I am here. Then there is another text where she's saying, P.S. I'm not sure if you
00:09:20.760 remember, but I did ket of your C word at some point, question mark. And I honestly think that 0.97
00:09:28.720 was one of the most insane jaw-dropping moments of the night she is saying to him see word here
00:09:37.480 means a man thing by the way and then he says I'm just glad you're okay I was kind of upset with all
00:09:43.320 the stories going around earlier but at the end of the day that's all they are and I have no memory
00:09:50.220 of the last part Jonathan says here he doesn't remember what happened at the last part but
00:09:57.500 it's obvious here that people at the campus started talking about this and he's a bit worried
00:10:03.460 about that and then she responds to that saying oh Jesus not the stories I don't even think I 0.75
00:10:08.520 want to know I know I'm socially a massive slut and I like can't bear to hear it because I'm really
00:10:16.140 not okay so at this point they're talking like friends here and discussing what happened and 0.55
00:10:23.940 she seems totally fine with it there's also a text exchange where they talk about the earrings
00:10:30.280 that she lost she lost her earrings during this and she's asking him to look for them and he said
00:10:36.960 that I cleaned my section of the room and I didn't find them I'll do a full room clean tomorrow and
00:10:41.940 look sorry I've been busy with setup he says then this is on October 21st and then on November 3rd
00:10:53.540 she changes her mind about what has happened so in the meantime there has been a Halloween party
00:11:00.440 that she was invited to she was originally invited to the party and was excited to go
00:11:05.760 to a place where she would meet all these men again and that's also one of the things that
00:11:12.080 people have been criticizing her for like why would she want to go to a party to meet these
00:11:17.440 men again that she's accusing of these horrible things. So she was invited and she was going to go
00:11:25.140 but then she was disinvited by the president of the fraternity and he told her I'm disinviting
00:11:32.840 you for your own good. Some people say that that is what triggered her to change her mind. No one
00:11:40.380 knows what triggered her to change her mind. She could have started remembering more details of
00:11:47.820 what happened that night. Things happen in our brains when we experience trauma and sometimes
00:11:55.200 you black out and sometimes you try not to remember and sometimes these things will appear
00:12:01.220 later on and of course that is also something that could have happened to Jane Doe here but she did
00:12:07.920 change her mind so on november 3rd she sent this message to jonathan she said let's be clear that
00:12:18.780 90 of what happened that night was not consensual i was given more k than i can remember and i know
00:12:25.740 that i told you i felt uncomfortable and i didn't know anyone in the room all i remember after that
00:12:31.940 was you giving me cat to do off your d word in front of everyone like a dull worker then jonathan
00:12:39.760 responds to this saying i and i don't remember any of this happening which is why i've been feeling
00:12:44.700 so terrible about the whole situation and i know that is no excuse and neither is how effed up i
00:12:51.960 was about i genuinely want you to know and i hope you know that had i been less effed up and even
00:12:59.680 somewhat aware of the situation and how out of hand it got I would have shut it down the second
00:13:06.820 guys started walking into the room like I am so sorry for everything that happened that night
00:13:15.420 and everything you've been going through since you're genuinely someone I respect so much
00:13:20.020 and one of the strongest people I know and even though you're pissed with me for what happened
00:13:25.120 which is completely warranted, I still want to be there for you as someone you can talk to or come to
00:13:31.240 when you need anything. Again, I'm so sorry that there's no excuse for anything, but I'm begging
00:13:36.740 you, please talk to me because I want to be there for you through this. Okay, and this is where it
00:13:43.760 gets really complicated. So Jonathan, who she's having this text exchange with, was the person
00:13:49.860 who sent out that message in the group on snapchat so he was the one inviting other people to join
00:13:58.740 in and here he is saying that he was so out of it that he feels terrible and he can't really
00:14:05.160 remember so as you can see this is a very complicated case because you have a woman
00:14:12.420 who agreed to be with these two men whom a lot of people are tempted to judge for being
00:14:19.500 promiscuous. But the fact that she wanted to enjoy being with two men, does that mean that she should
00:14:25.080 allow all these other men to come and join in? Of course not! And this brings me to the truly
00:14:32.480 disturbing commentary from Megyn Kelly. But before we get into that, a big thank you to the sponsor
00:14:39.920 of this video, One Skin. If you followed me for a while, you probably know I've been talking about
00:14:45.260 OneSkin for over a year on my channel and that's because I really love and trust this brand.
00:14:50.920 For me skincare is about feeling good and confident in your own skin and to know that I take care of
00:14:59.020 my skin the best way that I can. And that's why I'm so excited about this new product from OneSkin
00:15:03.920 called OS1 Face Rich Cream. OneSkin uses something called OS1 peptides in their products.
00:15:13.460 Peptides are basically tiny messengers that tells your skin what to do.
00:15:18.980 I've been using the regular face cream before, but this one is another level.
00:15:23.960 The rich cream just makes your skin feel so hydrated.
00:15:28.620 And as I spoke about before, One Skin is all about science.
00:15:32.040 This cream combines immediate hydration with their OS1 peptides,
00:15:36.960 which in lab studies have shown to increase your skin's own collagen and promote the production
00:15:44.720 of elastin, hyaluronic acid and barrier proteins that locks the moisture in. That means your skin
00:15:51.880 becomes visibly firmer with better hydration retention over time. Born from over 10 years
00:15:58.020 of skin longevity research, One Skin is helping you unlock your healthiest skin now and as you age.

00:16:23.300 After you purchase, they may ask where you heard about them, so please support my channel and tell them that I sent you.
00:16:29.820 Okay, so let's get back into it.
00:16:31.400 This brings me to the Megyn Kelly video.
00:16:33.800 When I heard this, I could not believe my ears.
00:16:37.780 As you might know, Megyn Kelly is a survivor herself.
00:16:41.880 She came out and accused her boss at Fox News, Roger Isle, of essaying her.
00:16:48.820 She wrote about this in a memoir in 2016.
00:16:53.300 And there was even a movie made about this.
00:16:55.880 And when Megyn Kelly was promoting her book,
00:16:58.720 she talked about why it took her so long to come out publicly about this you know like why didn't
00:17:06.200 you come forward earlier and it's like you know what can i swear here yeah listen thank you for
00:17:11.400 saying that looking back you should have come out earlier publicly listen it's hard to say no to
00:17:17.380 that because i now know the number of women who were targeted and it's disturbing it took megan
00:17:22.620 kelly 11 years to come out against roger isle and on her show the other day she attacked jane
00:17:34.400 doe for taking three weeks to report what had happened to the university police and i'm sorry
00:17:42.860 but you know three weeks like if you were violently repeatedly over the course of an evening
00:17:51.220 Do you think it would take you three weeks to call the campus police?
00:17:55.740 That's one part of this, but that's not the most upsetting thing to me.
00:17:59.340 The most upsetting thing to me is this.
00:18:03.240 I'm just going to be honest. 0.99
00:18:04.560 She's not the most attractive gal. 1.00
00:18:06.800 She's extremely beefy in like her arms and her legs. 1.00
00:18:11.640 She has a whole video online talking about her cankles. 1.00
00:18:14.520 She possibly enjoyed being admired. 1.00
00:18:18.500 This is how women make these mistakes. 1.00
00:18:20.180 admired, wanted. This is probably a first for her. She's probably thrilled to be so admired 1.00
00:18:25.500 because she clearly didn't grow up the incredibly beautiful one. I'm not trying to be insulting. I'm
00:18:29.680 just trying to tell you the narrative that is likely to have occurred here, in my opinion. 1.00
00:18:34.800 She's really saying that this woman, because in her opinion, she had beefy arms and legs and she
00:18:44.200 doesn't find her attractive she probably enjoyed this because she's not used to getting so much
00:18:52.540 attention from men and she also said in this episode that she has found out who Jane Doe is 0.97
00:19:01.260 so that's why she can talk about her appearance and get the word out there that this woman is 0.91
00:19:07.700 unattractive in her eyes and she also said that she feels it's unfair that this woman can name
00:19:15.620 these men and be anonymous herself and she has decided at this point not to name her but she
00:19:25.580 is seriously considering naming her so people will find out who she is. Then she talks about
00:19:33.720 how this woman is a bad influence on young girls right this is so disempowering 1.00
00:19:40.960 to all of womankind to all of us to our daughters we are capable of making decisions 1.00
00:19:48.840 she made the decision to drink and then show up at a fraternity house at 11 o'clock she says that 1.00
00:19:55.320 after she's pointed out that she's so unattractive that she probably enjoyed this I mean I remember
00:20:05.020 Megyn Kelly also commenting on my appearance actually when she was discussing my Blake Lively
00:20:11.360 interview and how Blake was rude to me she said on her show that it was obvious that Blake Lively
00:20:20.120 saw me as less attractive than her and that gave her another reason to be rude to me when i heard
00:20:26.880 that i was like really is that really your opinion about what happened in that situation now thinking
00:20:34.240 back at that comment i obviously know where that's coming from because that was megan kelly's
00:20:39.380 opinion then she continued talking about how this woman was drinking much so you know she i don't 1.00
00:20:46.480 know she'll she should probably expect things to happen to her because she was drinking a lot
00:20:50.720 but anyways as a journalist you have some responsibilities if you ask me or if you call
00:20:56.820 yourself a journalist you can have opinions about facts about evidence and you can look at a
00:21:03.140 situation and analyze that situation that's what's supposed to be your job but when you're going
00:21:08.640 after someone's appearance that is the lowest of the low. That is a comment I would expect coming
00:21:17.960 from the Tate's brothers not from a woman who is also a victim of SH herself. I mean it's obvious 0.68
00:21:27.440 that this case is not black and white and you can have an opinion about what you think happened
00:21:33.180 But the message you're sending with a commentary like that is that other women who have been victims of SA or SH should expect other people to examine their attractiveness and their bodies to find out whether they should just be grateful for what happened to them or not.
00:21:52.800 None of us who weren't in that room that night knows exactly what happened, but I think it's
00:21:59.100 everyone's jobs to be able to change their mind when new evidence occurs. Sometimes in a case you
00:22:08.220 can have an opinion in the beginning and you feel like this is probably what happened, but then when
00:22:14.300 more evidence comes out, maybe you will change your opinion about what happened, because there
00:22:19.540 are a lot of details here that makes this case very very complicated. Anyways I feel like I had
00:22:25.800 to put that out there because I was so upset with Megyn Kelly yesterday and I felt like as a woman
00:22:31.500 and as a human being we have a responsibility to call these things out and I just find it so
00:22:37.760 disturbing and so disappointing that these words are coming from another woman. Anyways that's it
00:22:45.560 for me today you guys thank you so much for watching and thanks for all your support let me
00:22:50.280 know how you feel about this in the comment section if you've been following this case
00:22:54.800 and if your opinions about what has happened has changed your mind about certain things or if it
00:23:00.660 hasn't i at least feel like these things are important to talk about anyways if you haven't
00:23:06.180 subscribed yet please do and hit the notification bell so you never miss an episode of flossom talk
00:23:11.040 and I'll see you soon.
00:23:13.320 Bye.
