00:00:30.000 Finally, I have been vindicated.
00:00:39.540 Hi and welcome to Flossom Talk.
00:00:41.420 I'm Kersti Floor, journalist, Hollywood truth teller, and your voice of reason in a town built on delusion.
00:00:48.660 Finally, I have been vindicated.
00:00:52.540 It is official now in the legal documents that I had nothing to do with the alleged smear campaign.
00:01:02.160 Also, let's break it down how Blake Lively keeps changing her story and TMZ lying again, surprise, surprise.
00:01:12.880 And did a wealthy, arrogant businessman who launders money inspire Blake and Ryan to create the name Van Zand for their shell company?
00:01:23.320 I finally watched the PDD documentary, and I have to say, there are things there that makes me worry a little bit about Baldoni.
00:01:32.580 And today, the Golden Globes nomination are out, and there are so many reasons you should not care.
00:01:39.460 Okay, let's get into it.
00:01:40.600 As I just said, I have been vindicated.
00:01:43.800 There are now legal documents saying that I had nothing to do with this alleged smear campaign.
00:01:49.860 So, here it is, number 306.
00:01:52.860 Lively has not put forward any evidence to suggest the little bump video is not genuine,
00:02:00.980 or that defendants had any contact with the reporter in the video.
00:02:07.500 Plaintiff has responded to this saying undisputed.
00:02:12.300 Everyone agrees that I just posted that video for my own free will as an independent journalist,
00:02:21.460 and this makes New York Times look so horrible.
00:02:25.540 I am still waiting for them to apologize for me for why they dragged me into that article
00:02:30.460 without doing any due diligence, without reaching out to me, asking me if any of it was true.
00:02:35.860 They just printed it because it fitted Blake's narrative.
00:02:39.160 So, this morning, when I saw this, I sent them an email asking them if they can correct this article.
00:02:45.560 And, of course, they're not going to do that because if they do, they have to admit
00:02:49.120 that they didn't do the research that's required of them.
00:02:53.280 Because if they admit that they didn't do their due diligence,
00:02:57.820 it really takes away the credibility of the entire article.
00:03:02.120 So, they can't really do that.
00:03:04.320 And if they don't come back to me, which is what I suspect will happen here,
00:03:09.240 it just shows that they have zero integrity
00:03:12.220 and they can take no accountability for their own mistakes.
00:03:16.160 If you followed me last year, you know what happened to me when that article was published.
00:03:21.460 People came after me.
00:03:22.560 I received so much hate online.
00:03:25.320 I received so many threats via Instagram, via email.
00:03:29.100 I couldn't open my emails during the entire time of Christmas.
00:03:32.400 Magnus was there for me, thankfully.
00:03:34.280 And he was deleting horrible, horrible, awful messages that I received on Instagram.
00:03:40.340 Hundreds of them a day.
00:03:41.740 Because people believed what they read in the New York Times.
00:03:45.480 So, now that we know that there is no evidence that I had any contact with them
00:03:50.840 because it did not happen,
00:03:52.860 I feel that's enough evidence for everyone to doubt everything that was printed in that article.
00:04:00.620 Because now we know for sure.
00:04:03.000 I mean, I've always known, obviously.
00:04:04.960 But now everyone knows that I had nothing to do with it.
00:04:08.520 And then everyone knows that the New York Times did not do their job.
00:04:12.900 And why did they add me into that article, even with the picture?
00:04:16.600 Because it fit their narrative that they were fed by Blake Lively.
00:04:22.960 I will keep you posted if they respond to my email.
00:04:26.740 They did respond to me when I reached out to them the first time,
00:04:30.160 just after they had published the article.
00:04:32.260 And then they added a statement there that didn't really make any difference
00:04:36.420 because everyone had already read the article.
00:04:38.640 It was 24 hours too late.
00:04:40.540 And it didn't really help me.
00:04:42.140 So, the fact that they are willing to drag an innocent woman through the mud
00:04:47.960 and smear her, me, without even thinking twice about it to check if it's actually true,
00:04:56.860 that to me is just so disappointing.
00:04:59.060 And it really makes me doubt the credibility of all of their reporting.
00:05:03.560 Okay, so let's get to the next media outlet that we cannot trust.
00:05:07.820 TMZ.
00:05:08.460 I was randomly just watching this video, which they actually titled,
00:05:14.000 It's Over.
00:05:15.480 Blake Lively Leak Changes Everything.
00:05:19.580 Well, it really doesn't.
00:05:21.420 Well, it did create some headlines.
00:05:23.340 This is about those headlines that were last week about Justin Baldoni
00:05:27.340 admitting or telling Blake without her asking that he was circumcised.
00:05:32.540 And one of the reporters, I don't remember his name,
00:05:35.040 is having this conversation with Harvey, the editor, who's also a lawyer, as we know,
00:05:41.380 on this live stream that TMZ has, I think, every day.
00:05:44.180 And he starts off like this.
00:05:46.240 There was a conversation one day while they were on set,
00:05:50.220 a conversation about circumcision.
00:05:53.180 Okay, so that's a lie.
00:05:54.660 This did not happen on the set of It Ends With Us.
00:05:57.780 This happened five months prior to the beginning of the shoot.
00:06:02.600 They hadn't started filming yet.
00:06:04.260 And it happened in Blake and Ryan's apartment.
00:06:06.840 He's here saying that this happened on the set,
00:06:09.520 which doesn't make any sense because it's been all over the media
00:06:12.440 that there were even nannies present and even Blake's assistant was there.
00:06:17.080 Ryan was coming in and out of the conversation.
00:06:19.660 All these things happened.
00:06:21.000 And now he's saying it was on the set of It Ends With Us.
00:06:25.000 Anyways, this entire video,
00:06:26.840 they keep talking about how this incident can be considered S-A-G,
00:06:33.360 which Harvey actually says he doubts that this could ever be considered S-A-G.
00:06:38.980 So I'm happy he's on the right side here.
00:06:41.680 But this is just another example of how the media keeps twisting things around.
00:06:46.440 And it's just so sloppy.
00:06:47.840 I don't think he did that on purpose here.
00:06:49.780 I just think that, you know, they follow this case as long as I follow this case.
00:06:53.920 They should look into the details before they report on it.
00:06:57.760 In this room, one of our colleagues brought up the fact that,
00:06:59.640 hey, I'm having a baby.
00:07:00.660 We're kind of wondering about circumcision.
00:07:01.800 Have you listened to your...
00:07:02.920 I would never say, oh, I'm circumcised.
00:07:03.980 Have you listened to the lawyer that you hired in our office in the morning meeting?
00:07:09.160 That's in the morning meeting.
00:07:10.320 That is different.
00:07:11.080 That is different.
00:07:12.240 That is different than a private conversation.
00:07:14.520 Okay, so this was quite funny, actually.
00:07:16.340 Someone sent this to me.
00:07:17.440 Thank you so much.
00:07:18.240 This makes sense to me.
00:07:20.440 I remember reading about Van Zandt, the sham, the shell company that Ryan and Blake used
00:07:26.560 to get the subpoena to Stephanie Jones so she could get hold of Jennifer Abel's phone,
00:07:30.960 so she could give it to them, so they could give it to the New York Times and cherry pick
00:07:35.220 a lot of text messages and create this story that no one believes anymore.
00:07:40.480 Anyways, back then when we started realizing there was a sham lawsuit here,
00:07:44.940 someone pointed out that the name Van Zandt came from Ryan being from Vancouver and Blake
00:07:53.180 being from Tarzana, and they put them together.
00:07:56.540 I just received this DM from someone who said that they just watched Heat, the movie,
00:08:03.040 and there's a character here called Roger Van Zandt.
00:08:06.060 He's a white-collar criminal and crime boss.
00:08:09.340 The movie had Robert De Niro and Al Pacino in it as well, and it says his role in the film
00:08:15.220 is a wealthy, arrogant businessman who launders money.
00:08:18.540 This makes more sense to me than that they actually added together the names of the towns
00:08:25.040 they're from, that they actually named the company after a criminal because that's what
00:08:30.920 they were going to use this company for, and this is so Ryan Reynolds.
00:08:36.340 It's got his name written all over it.
00:08:38.820 This is his sense of humor, so thank you for sending me that.
00:08:42.860 I'm going to re-watch Heat now and think about this.
00:08:45.800 That is a great movie, actually.
00:08:46.920 I haven't seen it in so many years, so thank you for sending me that.
00:08:49.440 Okay, so let's get into how Blake Lively's story keeps changing here,
00:08:54.020 but before we talk about that, I wanted to thank the sponsor of this video, Upside.
00:08:59.440 Okay, so you know the holiday season is all about giving, but somehow your wallet is the
00:09:05.000 one doing all the giving.
00:09:06.660 Between traveling last-minute grocery runs and panic gift shopping, this season gets expensive,
00:09:13.760 and that's why I started using Upside.
00:09:16.840 It's a free app that helps you earn extra cash back on things you're already doing.
00:09:21.900 Things like filling up your gas tank, grabbing dinner on the go, or stocking up groceries.
00:09:27.360 And yes, it's real cash back.
00:09:29.780 Before I even pull into a gas station, I check on the Upside app who's actually giving the
00:09:35.680 best cash back offer.
00:09:37.740 And with over 100,000 gas stations, restaurants, and grocery stores in the app, there is always
00:09:44.800 something nearby.
00:09:46.300 Here's how it works.
00:09:47.160 You just open the free app, you claim an offer, you pay as usual with your card, then you follow
00:09:52.360 the steps in the app, and ka-ching, you get paid.
00:09:55.360 People actually earn three times more cash back with Upside than any other products, including
00:10:02.000 loyalty programs and credit card rewards.
00:10:05.280 And users are earning $1 million in cash back every single week.
00:10:10.300 Upside has given over $1 billion back to its users.
00:10:14.980 To find out how much you can earn, download the free Upside app and use promo code SHASHTI,
00:10:20.700 my name, to get extra $0.25 of for every gallon on your first tank of gas.
00:10:26.700 That's $0.25 back for every gallon with code SHASHTI.
00:10:31.080 All right, so let's get into this makeup trailer again, because Blake's story keeps changing
00:10:36.900 here.
00:10:37.480 And thanks to someone on Reddit who actually started comparing the versions of this story,
00:10:43.700 it really caught my attention.
00:10:45.720 And that's why I really wanted to talk about this, because I feel like when you're lying,
00:10:50.260 you don't really remember what you said the first time, and sometimes things doesn't even
00:10:54.560 make sense.
00:10:56.080 And this is where her story just keeps falling apart.
00:11:00.300 So this incident happened when Jamie Heath, Justin Baldoni, Alex Sachs, and one more person,
00:11:06.980 I think, from the team or from Sony, went to Blake's trailer because they wanted to arrange
00:11:12.620 a meeting with her.
00:11:14.260 So that is the context here.
00:11:16.900 So Blake, in her first amended complaint, explained it like this.
00:11:21.480 To make matters worse, when Ms. Lively tried to have a meeting with Mr. Heat and the other
00:11:26.660 producers to discuss Mr. Baldoni's unprofessional behavior described above, that meeting turned
00:11:34.040 into yet another violation.
00:11:37.080 Interesting thing here, because she said that she invited them to talk about Baldoni's
00:11:42.580 unprofessional behavior.
00:11:44.540 Later on, she said that this was the second day of filming.
00:11:48.420 So she's basically saying that the first day is where all these violations happened.
00:11:53.680 It doesn't really make sense.
00:11:55.500 And as I'll talk about later, the Wayfair parties explain this situation very differently
00:12:00.540 and say they were there to talk about wardrobe and not about misbehavior.
00:12:06.000 Okay, so let's get back into it.
00:12:07.220 Rather than an ordinary meeting time and place, Mr. Heat arrived unannounced that Ms. Lively's
00:12:12.260 hair and makeup trailer while she was topless and having body makeup removed by a makeup
00:12:16.580 artist.
00:12:17.520 Ms. Lively told Mr. Heat that she was almost done and they could meet once she was clothed.
00:12:23.800 Mr. Heat, however, insisted that if she did not allow him into her trailer to speak to him
00:12:28.360 at that moment, then there would be no meeting with the other producers.
00:12:33.040 So he was kind of threatening her from the outside of this trailer.
00:12:36.120 I doubt it after everything that happened at this point.
00:12:41.800 And then it says, Ms. Lively reluctantly agreed but asked Mr. Heat to keep his back turned.
00:12:49.000 If you reluctantly agree to let someone in, you do agree to let them into your trailer.
00:12:55.160 And since she's now saying that they had this conversation while he was still outside,
00:12:59.340 she hadn't let him in yet, she would have time to grab something and cover herself up
00:13:03.820 if she felt uncomfortable.
00:13:05.560 And it says that a few minutes into the conversation, Ms. Lively noticed that Mr.
00:13:10.220 Heath was staring directly at her while she was topless.
00:13:14.420 Here's my question about that.
00:13:16.460 How do you not notice that until after a few minutes?
00:13:20.720 Were you not facing him so you could not see him and that's why you didn't notice that he
00:13:25.380 was looking at you?
00:13:26.460 Or did you actually have your back turned against him as well?
00:13:30.600 And if you then noticed that he was looking at you, you must either have eyes in your back
00:13:37.340 or you must have boobs in your back.
00:13:39.480 Because otherwise, how would you not notice that someone is looking at you and he's staring
00:13:44.740 at you?
00:13:45.240 A trailer is not a big space.
00:13:47.840 You know, it's not like he was really far away or anything like that.
00:13:51.180 So yes, it doesn't make any sense.
00:13:53.400 And then Blake explained that when she called him out, Mr.
00:13:56.080 Heath brushed it off as a habit of wanting to look at a person while speaking to them.
00:13:59.940 Ms.
00:14:00.480 Lively and hair and makeup artists were all deeply disturbed by this interaction on just
00:14:05.760 the second day of filming.
00:14:07.860 Yeah, so they're actually also saying here it's the second day.
00:14:10.560 They don't even describe what that unprofessional behavior is.
00:14:14.540 Anyways, in the New York Times article, it's described like this.
00:14:18.600 Mr.
00:14:18.960 Heath had shown her a video of his wife.
00:14:22.800 She said, of course, no context around that.
00:14:26.880 And not saying that it was after she had given birth.
00:14:31.100 And it's, yeah.
00:14:32.360 Anyways, we all know that story now.
00:14:34.580 And he had watched Ms.
00:14:35.540 Lively in her trailer when she was topless and having body makeup removed, despite her
00:14:39.600 asking him to look away.
00:14:41.440 She said that both men repeatedly entered her makeup trailer uninvited while she was undressed,
00:14:47.840 including when she was breastfeeding.
00:14:49.660 Okay, so he did not enter this trailer at this, the way she explained it already, uninvited.
00:14:57.240 She invited him in.
00:14:58.700 She said it was reluctant, but she did invite him in.
00:15:02.280 And as we know, she did invite Justin into her trailer while she was pumping.
00:15:06.880 It is on a text message.
00:15:08.440 She said, come to my trailer.
00:15:09.960 I'm just pumping.
00:15:10.840 We can go over the lines.
00:15:12.240 And of course, the New York Times did not publish that text message.
00:15:16.020 Then we have the story from the Wayfair Party.
00:15:18.560 This is from the website and how they explain what happened there.
00:15:23.560 They're saying that later that day, Lively text Baldoni to request another meeting with
00:15:28.620 him and the other producers to discuss wardrobe.
00:15:31.900 So she actually initiated this meeting and it was about wardrobe because as you know, at
00:15:37.160 this point, she got so much backlash for her wardrobe and there were a lot of discussions
00:15:41.320 around it.
00:15:42.340 Justin was not happy about her wardrobe choices either.
00:15:47.200 Baldoni agrees.
00:15:48.100 After shooting, RAP's producer, Alex Sachs, Sony executive, Heath and Baldoni approached
00:15:55.080 Lively's makeup trailer.
00:15:57.140 Remember, I spoke about the other day, Alex Sachs.
00:15:59.700 I've spoken a lot about her.
00:16:01.020 She's given her testimony.
00:16:02.340 And in there, she says that she don't remember anything from this incident.
00:16:07.640 She don't recall anything that was, you know, anything notable.
00:16:11.880 So, and she was there and she was outside the trailer where all of this happened.
00:16:16.260 And she stood outside waiting when Jamie Heath went inside.
00:16:20.520 Also, as the female producer, why didn't she just say, I go and talk to her because I'm
00:16:24.840 a woman if she's not dressed?
00:16:27.020 I don't know.
00:16:27.700 Just a thought.
00:16:28.400 And Baldoni's team explains, Heath knocked on the door and is invited in.
00:16:32.920 Present in the room are Lively's nanny, makeup artist, and assistant while Lively's having
00:16:37.260 body makeup removed.
00:16:39.220 She was not topless.
00:16:41.260 As she claimed in her complaint, she was either nursing or pumping while fully covered.
00:16:46.840 He didn't even notice if she was pumping or breastfeeding, meaning he didn't really
00:16:51.580 look because he didn't pay attention to what she was doing.
00:16:54.780 But he says she is fully covered.
00:16:57.240 So we're going to have to see what her assistant, what her makeup artist, if she can get all
00:17:02.260 of these people to support her in saying that she was topless.
00:17:06.900 He's saying she wasn't.
00:17:09.260 Lively asks Heath to face the wall while they determine a time to meet with the other producers
00:17:14.400 who are standing just outside the door.
00:17:16.660 Weeks later, Lively accuses Heath of making eye contact with her while she had asked him
00:17:22.780 to face the wall.
00:17:24.120 While Heath does not remember doing so, he sincerely apologized if he made momentarily eye contact
00:17:30.060 with Lively while conversing, acknowledging that it was possible he may have out of habit.
00:17:36.140 Lively stated that she didn't think he was trying to cop a look.
00:17:39.660 Heath pleads with Lively to consider having a meeting the next morning to avoid her getting
00:17:44.440 home too late and losing shoot time in the following day.
00:17:47.260 The conversation in Lively's makeup trailer lasts only a couple of minutes and they agree
00:17:51.960 to meet with the rest of the producers in her personal trailer.
00:17:55.760 Ten minutes later, they meet and discuss the wardrobe at length.
00:17:59.280 Any suggestions that Heath stared at her inappropriately is not only blatantly false, but also difficult
00:18:05.360 to believe, especially in such a setting.
00:18:08.820 Furthermore, Lively's complaint incorrectly states that Lively intended to speak with the
00:18:13.620 producers about unprofessional behavior on this day.
00:18:17.180 As this timeline shows, the allegedly inappropriate behavior Lively describes in her complaint
00:18:23.200 had not yet occurred.
00:18:25.900 Oops!
00:18:26.800 And this conversation concerned only wardrobe and production.
00:18:30.720 The thing is, when she's caught lying about these little things, it really harms her credibility
00:18:37.640 in front of a jury.
00:18:38.900 As you know, a couple of weeks ago, Baldoni's team filed a motion for summary judgment and
00:18:43.960 Blake Lively responded to that.
00:18:46.380 And this is how she explains the trailer incident in that response.
00:18:51.080 He's intrusion into Lively's hair and makeup trailer and choice to show her a nude video at
00:18:56.740 work after filming of the birth scene already had occurred or concluded.
00:19:03.060 I don't know if that's true or not.
00:19:05.100 I haven't seen this before, that this has supposedly happened, that he showed that video to her after
00:19:09.500 they actually shot the scene.
00:19:11.820 So I have to check that up.
00:19:13.280 Each alone give rise to a tribal issue on harassment that precludes summary judgment.
00:19:19.300 Any reasonable woman in Lively's position would be offended by having a supervisor look at her
00:19:25.120 exposed breast or play a video of his admittedly wicked wife in the workplace.
00:19:29.940 These experiences were degrading and humiliating in the extreme.
00:19:34.340 Apparently, also, there are some testimonies from the makeup artists that Blake grabbed
00:19:41.280 a cutting cape as soon as Jamie walked in and covered herself.
00:19:46.820 So as you can see, Blake's stories keeps changing and they don't make much sense.
00:19:51.260 And when she's going to try to explain what happened here in front of a jury and try to
00:19:55.380 get the details right when she knows there are things here that basically never happened,
00:20:01.200 it's so much harder to remember what you lied about than if you actually tell the truth.
00:20:06.580 Okay, so yesterday I finished watching the PDD documentary on Netflix.
00:20:12.000 It was a very disturbing experience and it took me so many nights to finish it because I could
00:20:16.260 only watch one episode at a time.
00:20:18.340 And I have to say, it made me a little worried about this case because there were two jury members
00:20:26.120 that were interviewed in this documentary, one of them, a woman who was so obviously a huge
00:20:33.720 fan of PDD.
00:20:35.560 She was smiling from ear to ear while she was talking about these witnesses and the things
00:20:41.920 and the horrible things he was accused of.
00:20:44.380 And she came off as a total fangirl.
00:20:47.680 And this is what is so worrying when you put a celebrity on trial because people get so
00:20:56.080 starstruck.
00:20:57.200 And they also interviewed another juror, an elderly man.
00:21:01.020 I think he had an accent from like India or something like that.
00:21:04.680 And it was so clear to me while he talked about this, that he has no clue about anything when
00:21:12.060 it comes to women's psychology and victim behavior, because he kept saying that PDD and Cassie,
00:21:21.000 who was dating for 10 years, had just a loving relationship.
00:21:24.680 And it was so clear that they loved each other.
00:21:27.220 Remember they met when Cassie was just 19 years old.
00:21:30.280 This man probably never heard of the word grooming.
00:21:33.520 And he was like, why didn't she leave if he was abusive towards her?
00:21:37.640 Yes, so when you hear juror members talk like this, I think it's just so worrying that these
00:21:43.740 people are responsible, have all this responsibility to have the power to decide the future of celebrity
00:21:52.680 or of PDD in this case.
00:21:54.740 And I am so worried that the jury members in the Blake Lively versus Justin Baldoni case
00:22:00.420 are going to be just as starstruck.
00:22:03.640 I'm sure Ryan Reynolds is going to be in that courtroom every day and, you know, plant stories.
00:22:08.840 And that was also a thing here.
00:22:10.280 They talked about how PDD's crew and how PDD's people were influencing all the people that were there,
00:22:18.900 the influencers, the social media or content creators who were there.
00:22:23.100 They were feeding them stories.
00:22:24.500 They were feeding them angles.
00:22:26.080 And they ate it up and they pushed it out there.
00:22:28.920 And the jury members admitted that they watched those things,
00:22:33.340 that they were, like, aware of what was going on on social media.
00:22:37.620 Anyways, if you haven't watched it yet, it's really worth watching.
00:22:40.160 And it really portrays the worst of the worst of a narcissist.
00:22:44.120 And also what I find a little bit amusing, if there's anything amusing about this situation,
00:22:48.980 is that Diddy had hired a cameraman who followed him up till the last few days before his arrest.
00:22:57.240 And that footage was then given to 50 Cent or sold to 50 Cent to produce this documentary.
00:23:04.500 And, of course, PDD and his lawyers are furious about it.
00:23:08.800 And they're saying that was illegal.
00:23:11.080 Well, it turns out Diddy did not pay his cameraman and didn't have a contract with him.
00:23:16.640 So it's fine for him to just give this or share this or sell this footage to anyone.
00:23:24.120 My point is that Diddy was known for not paying people.
00:23:26.640 He screwed everyone over.
00:23:28.360 He didn't pay them for all the work they did, producers that worked on his records.
00:23:32.840 So many people, even one of the co-owners of his company, was screwed over.
00:23:39.460 He stole his shares of the company.
00:23:41.800 He ended up being homeless.
00:23:43.320 It's so devastating.
00:23:44.680 But at least this footage got out there because he was so cheap and he really deserves that.
00:23:51.160 Anyways, I saw there are 77 civil cases still active against Diddy.
00:23:56.780 And I don't know what's going to happen when he gets out of jail.
00:24:00.100 I feel so sorry for all these victims who sacrificed so much to tell their side of the story here.
00:24:06.280 And then just watching how he got away on so many of these points.
00:24:11.080 And just for Cassie to know that this jury member is saying that, oh, there was just a love relationship.
00:24:17.740 They loved each other.
00:24:20.200 Another truly disturbing thing is to watch these eight lawyers that Diddy hired to defend him just lying in the media and just defending a monster like him.
00:24:30.560 It's just it's just so disgusting.
00:24:33.100 Anyways, as I said in the beginning of this video, the Golden Globes nominations are out and you should not care.
00:24:39.460 I'm so happy that LA Times finally did a story on this again.
00:24:42.960 They're saying today the Golden Globes ethics are worse than ever and no one seems to care.
00:24:48.400 In the wake of a Times investigation that exposed the group self-dealing and ethical lapses and a complete lack of black representation among its membership, NBC pulled the ceremony of the air as Netflix and Amazon Studios and more than 100 publicity agencies cut ties with the embattled Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
00:25:09.700 Hollywood Foreign Press was there was the group of journalists behind the Golden Globes.
00:25:13.880 Of course, they don't mention here that they only could write that expose to take them down because I sued them.
00:25:22.840 Everything in that expose was taken out of my lawsuit against the Golden Globes.
00:25:29.000 I sued them for their ethical lapses, for discrimination, for harassment, for bullying, for self-dealing, for all the things that they seemingly just got away with.
00:25:40.220 So after this happened and they were taken off the air in 2020, they tried to fix their organization by just hiring a lot of expensive consultants and changing their bylaws and said that, oh, we won't do this anymore.
00:25:54.260 We're not corrupt anymore.
00:25:55.460 And we're going to behave in front of celebrities because that was another thing that they were accused of.
00:25:59.940 But then still they lost their TV deal with NBC.
00:26:02.620 And then this billionaire comes along and he buys the Golden Globes.
00:26:08.140 And his name is Todd Bowley.
00:26:09.680 And through his firm Elgid Industries and his partner in Penske Media, they merged into Penske Media Eldridge.
00:26:20.340 And this is where it gets really interesting because if you thought they were corrupt before,
00:26:24.720 they were accused of accepting bribes, flown around the world in five-star hotels and getting all this access to celebrities.
00:26:31.500 But at least they were a non-profit organization back then.
00:26:35.900 But when Bowley bought the rights for the Golden Globes, he changed it to a for-profit.
00:26:41.120 And here's the twist because his partner, Jay Penske, owns all the trade magazines in this town.
00:26:46.700 And they're the ones writing about the Golden Globes.
00:26:49.360 They're the one who profits from all the advertisements during award season when all these movies and production companies and studios are promoting their movies to win awards.
00:27:00.240 They own the entire infrastructure around this award show.
00:27:04.700 They also own the production company that produces this.
00:27:07.460 They own a lot of production companies that have movies like A24.
00:27:12.520 They also have ownership in the Beverly Hilton Hotel where the award show is aired from.
00:27:18.700 And I've seen how these works are personal for so long.
00:27:23.080 And I was thinking that probably things would change now after all of this controversy happened.
00:27:29.700 But every single industry party I've been to, I've seen the publicist go up to the Golden Globes members,
00:27:38.020 pull them away and put them in front of the celebrities and the talents.
00:27:42.880 And then they arrange selfies with the stars and then they have little small talks.
00:27:47.380 And then they try to influence them, obviously, to vote for their movies.
00:27:51.640 And this is one of the things that all the celebrities were complaining about back then.
00:27:55.900 They were like, we don't want to take selfies with these people anymore.
00:27:59.200 We don't want to do interviews with them.
00:28:01.980 We hate their questions.
00:28:03.720 They're rude.
00:28:04.600 They're inappropriate.
00:28:05.960 And now it's all happening all over again.
00:28:08.980 And the greed has reached new levels.
00:28:12.220 So last year, Variety, which is also owned by them.
00:28:16.420 So last year, this was a huge controversy and it just kind of disappeared.
00:28:20.660 No one talked about it.
00:28:21.900 But they sent this out to people offering this Variety dinner hosted by Variety and the Golden Globes,
00:28:30.340 both owned by the same person, and said that, you know, I think it was about $70,000.
00:28:35.680 You could sit down and be a part of a conversation.
00:28:39.500 And also, you would be able to sit down with 30 to 40 voters at an upscale dinner experience so you can try to convince them to vote for you.
00:28:50.880 This year, it was already a scandal that they were offering this concierge service that you could buy a ticket to the Golden Globes for $75,000.
00:29:00.580 I think you got a ticket and some spa experience or something, I don't know, a goodie bag for that amount of money.
00:29:08.900 And then it was called out in the media.
00:29:10.920 And then, oops, they just like, no, no, no, they just took it off the website.
00:29:14.740 And they also added a podcast category this year.
00:29:19.060 And this is even more hilarious because this short list of podcasts that they have nominated is done by a third-party data company called Luminate Data.
00:29:29.140 And guess who the owner is?
00:29:31.360 Voila, Penske Media.
00:29:33.460 So how are we supposed to believe, as audiences, that any of the winners of the Golden Globes actually deserves it?
00:29:40.900 And in the podcast category, they have nominated a lot of conservatives, which I think is just because they try to make conservatives watch the Golden Globes, which I don't think is ever going to happen because a lot of the people who watch these shows on YouTube do not like Hollywood.
00:29:58.220 So some of these nominees for Best Podcasts are Candace Owens, Megyn Kelly, Tucker Carlson, and Ben Shapiro.
00:30:04.560 And the fact that these voters that are voting for Best Podcasts are people or journalists from all over the world, they have 300 voters.
00:30:14.540 And as my friend who's Japanese told me the other day, she's like, no one in Japan listens to podcasts.
00:30:20.040 They don't even understand English.
00:30:22.700 How are they going to vote for the best podcast here?
00:30:26.240 So it's so dumb.
00:30:27.760 But what's really discouraging to me is to see how Hollywood just like accepted everything back to normal again, even though nothing changed.
00:30:37.260 And as a lot of people that I spoke to lately at industry parties, they're saying like, they're worse than ever.
00:30:43.880 They're more corrupt than ever.
00:30:46.120 And no one is talking about it.
00:30:48.240 If you missed my video with my experience with the Golden Globes, I will link those two videos below.
00:30:54.780 They're really worth a watch.
00:30:56.000 They do remind me a lot about what's happening with Justin Baldoni now.
00:31:00.700 And I feel like the Golden Globes is kind of like Blake and Ryan wrapped in an organization.
00:31:06.180 And that's why I think I feel so passionate as well about justice being served in the case with Lively versus Baldoni.
00:31:14.360 Anyways, that's it from you guys.
00:31:16.340 Thank you so much for watching.
00:31:17.740 I really appreciate all your support and all the tips that you're sending me.
