00:11:27.000 And we are live, folks.
00:11:28.000 Welcome back to After Hours Podcast.
00:11:30.000 My boy, White Boy Rick.
00:11:31.000 Yo, fresh.
00:11:32.000 What up, baby?
00:11:33.000 So, listen, man, glad to have you back in the studio.
00:11:33.000 Good, bro.
00:11:35.000 This looks a little bit different now.
00:11:37.000 And obviously speaking, you've been killing it in Miami, in Michigan as well.
00:11:41.000 So, I know who you are.
00:11:43.000 If they don't know who you are by now, tell them who you are.
00:11:47.000 White Boy Rick, the movie about my life I've never watched.
00:11:50.000 Don't agree with the outcome of it.
00:11:52.000 But we're working on a new documentary right now.
00:11:55.000 Shout out to my man, Hype Williams.
00:11:56.000 We're doing it with the best of the best.
00:11:58.000 So, looking forward to that.
00:12:02.000 Other than that, to sum up my life, I'm the longest serving juvenile in the world for a drug crime.
00:12:08.000 I did 33 years in prison, came out, I built a brand, The Eighth by White Boy Rick, doing some real estate things, some other things.
00:12:17.000 In the community, I work with Team Wellness.
00:12:19.000 We have a juvenile program as well as a mental health company.
00:12:22.000 So we work, we try and give back in the community.
00:12:25.000 Right now, I have a fundraiser going for Love for a Child.
00:12:28.000 We send foster kids to summer camp.
00:12:30.000 Shout out to all my boys in Michigan in the cannabis industry that helped me do that.
00:12:36.000 And just trying to do some good things in the community.
00:12:38.000 Live good and do good.
00:12:39.000 That's my motto.
00:12:40.000 100%.
00:12:41.000 So we just saw today Carmelo Anthony was actually found guilty of murder.
00:12:46.000 Now, if you guys don't know what's happening in the case, basically, some time ago, there was an incident at a game, a school game, and one of the guys that was there was stabbed by Carmelo Anthony.
00:12:58.000 His brother and him were fighting Carmelo.
00:13:00.000 He had to self defense, so to speak, and then he passed away.
00:13:04.000 We'll come back to this later on in the show, guys.
00:13:06.000 This would be the main theme.
00:13:07.000 But I want to interview Rick about his life.
00:13:09.000 What he's seen happening in the current landscape and dating as well.
00:13:13.000 So, Rick, you've been in Miami off and on for how long, you would say?
00:13:18.000 You mean since I got out or my whole life?
00:13:20.000 Since you got out.
00:13:21.000 Oh, as soon as I got off parole, I bought a house here.
00:13:24.000 And you were telling me before about when you were a kid, you had everything.
00:13:29.000 Yeah, I mean, as a kid, bro, I went from having everything to having nothing.
00:13:36.000 I bought my first house when I was 17 years old in the suburbs of Southfield, Michigan.
00:13:41.000 It was a very affluent area.
00:13:44.000 I had a business.
00:13:46.000 All this was also being in the criminal world.
00:13:49.000 At 17?
00:13:50.000 That's crazy, bro.
00:13:52.000 So, I guess, put it into perspective, you would say, if you're 17 doing this, do you appreciate money like that the same way?
00:14:00.000 I appreciate it more now because I had everything.
00:14:03.000 I lost everything.
00:14:04.000 And now, legally, I live a better life.
00:14:07.000 So, I have a deeper appreciation for the good things in life.
00:14:14.000 Would you say that most people don't appreciate money like how you do now?
00:14:18.000 Because for me personally speaking, like just being here for 12 years, I understand money way better now than I did before.
00:14:25.000 When you first get money, it's hard to appreciate it because you want everything that you didn't have.
00:14:32.000 And mind you, I was a very young man or kid who I didn't really realize, you know, my dad used to tell me that this isn't going to last.
00:14:45.000 And You know, he was right.
00:14:48.000 So sometimes you have to, it's hard for a young man to listen to anybody, man.
00:14:53.000 I think me and you were talking earlier, and I was telling you about in a juvenile, your prefrontal cortex, like we sentence these kids to life in prison, but the decision making part of their brain isn't even developed until you're 26 or 27 years old.
00:15:09.000 And that's scientific research.
00:15:11.000 That's not me saying that.
00:15:12.000 Right.
00:15:13.000 So all these young kids that are sitting in prison, they didn't make a mistake, they made a poor choice.
00:15:18.000 And they made that poor choice because They really don't know what they're doing.
00:15:26.000 I guess because you're a bit older, you obviously went through some stuff yourself.
00:15:30.000 Obviously, you went to jail, you came out a better person.
00:15:32.000 What do you think is the main reason people make bad choices nowadays as kids?
00:15:37.000 The main factor you would say?
00:15:39.000 I mean, I think a lot of the poor choices made in society today, to be honest with you, have to do with the internet, with social media.
00:15:49.000 You know, kids wanting to be out there, kids wanting to go live.
00:15:52.000 You know, since I've been home, I've seen some.
00:15:55.000 Some crazy live on the internet things you know.
00:15:58.000 When I was coming up, you kind of tried to fly under the radar, so to speak.
00:16:04.000 Yeah, and with social media now, these kids post everything they post guns, they post money, they post drugs.
00:16:12.000 Like it's kind of like it's a blessing and a curse.
00:16:16.000 If I was the cops at this point or the feds, I got so much cases already lined up for me because it's all on social media.
00:16:22.000 That's a very good point.
00:16:23.000 They they troll social media, it's a they tell you they troll social media.
00:16:27.000 They have AI set up to troll social media.
00:16:31.000 So if you post something on social media, chances are you're going to, it's going to get tagged and they're going to look at it and you're probably going to get caught.
00:16:40.000 I'm seeing people do the most heinous crimes and post it online like it's funny, like it's a joke, but they do get caught.
00:16:40.000 Yeah.
00:16:48.000 So let me ask you this.
00:16:49.000 If I'm going to be smart, right?
00:16:51.000 And move forward in the right direction nowadays, as a young guy, how would you say somebody could avoid, Obviously, social media is one thing, but like, because for example, Carmelo Anthony, right?
00:17:02.000 Young kid doing his thing.
00:17:03.000 Obviously, he did kill somebody.
00:17:05.000 That's a huge mistake, right?
00:17:07.000 It's not a mistake.
00:17:08.000 Choice, choice.
00:17:10.000 Very poor choice.
00:17:11.000 How would you have handled that as, I guess, a big brother or uncle or father to the young guy?
00:17:17.000 I mean, listen, I try and talk to kids now and tell them, listen, mistake is the wrong word to use.
00:17:23.000 We all make choices.
00:17:25.000 Even now, I make poor choices.
00:17:28.000 Everybody makes poor choices.
00:17:28.000 You do?
00:17:31.000 Like, it's how you react to them or how you learn from them.
00:17:34.000 So, poor choices, you're going to learn for the rest of your life.
00:17:40.000 You might be 80 years old and meet an 85 year old, and he might teach you something.
00:17:44.000 So, in life, you're always learning.
00:17:47.000 And to these kids, I would say don't follow anything you see on social media, be your own man.
00:17:55.000 Don't be a follower, be a leader.
00:17:58.000 Get an education, and you know, everybody wants nice things, but if you work for them, they're much better.
00:18:07.000 100%.
00:18:08.000 So that was very profound what you just said.
00:18:10.000 When you work for it, it does serve you better.
00:18:13.000 Now, what I'm seeing now is that young guys are getting money like super fast, either from crypto, peptides, whatever they're doing.
00:18:21.000 And a lot of it is from the internet.
00:18:25.000 I meet a lot of young kids in Miami that are getting money through social media.
00:18:30.000 Yeah.
00:18:32.000 Money can become an addiction.
00:18:35.000 As a young kid, I had an addiction to money.
00:18:38.000 I didn't do drugs.
00:18:40.000 I didn't do, I just wanted more and more and more.
00:18:44.000 And there was a time where I could have walked away and took that money that I had then and went into a legitimate business.
00:18:52.000 And God only knows what I would have today.
00:18:55.000 For one thing, I never would have lost 33 years of my life, which is priceless.
00:19:01.000 But You know, if you just set a goal and work towards that goal and every day try and do better, or listen, every day you have to wake up and try and be a better person than you were yesterday.
00:19:15.000 100%.
00:19:16.000 And if you can accomplish that, you're going to do good in life.
00:19:21.000 Now, the hardest part I've seen guys go through, even myself as well, is battling temptation.
00:19:27.000 There's distractions.
00:19:28.000 We live in Miami.
00:19:29.000 Obviously, major cities have the same issue, so to speak.
00:19:32.000 Women are always around, right?
00:19:35.000 I guess you could put it in a more concise way.
00:19:38.000 What advice do you give to young men about dating women nowadays?
00:19:41.000 If you're in Miami, watch these chicks.
00:19:44.000 Because what you see is not real.
00:19:46.000 Like, I fell victim to it myself.
00:19:46.000 Yeah.
00:19:49.000 We all have.
00:19:49.000 You know that.
00:19:50.000 We, we, we.
00:19:50.000 We all have.
00:19:52.000 You know, these chicks got three, four boyfriends.
00:19:54.000 You think, you know, you think this that you're paying this chick's rent, she's got three or four other dudes paying her rent too.
00:20:01.000 Like, you think you're paying her car note or helping her or whatever.
00:20:05.000 Like, people ask me what changed in 33 years, and my two answers that I will never change is technology and women.
00:20:18.000 Tell them, Rick, women are not the same as they were when we were growing up, man.
00:20:22.000 They're not, these girls are like aggressive.
00:20:25.000 Like, bro, if you see some of the shit I get in my DMs or hit up on the internet, I'm like, like, I'm like, what?
00:20:33.000 Like, where'd you come from?
00:20:34.000 Bro, I'm like, whoa.
00:20:36.000 But you know what's crazy?
00:20:37.000 It's not monetized.
00:20:39.000 The data marketplace used to be, at least on some level, family structure, more genuine.
00:20:44.000 Now it's like, what can I take from you now?
00:20:46.000 I don't want to wait.
00:20:47.000 I want it now.
00:20:48.000 And if you're successful as a guy, okay, I see a future with this guy, invest in him because he's worth the investment.
00:20:53.000 But if you're not financially sound.
00:20:55.000 But I think here, like, No disrespect.
00:20:58.000 There's some good women in Miami.
00:20:59.000 And I don't want to be disrespectful to anybody.
00:21:03.000 And the ones that aren't kind of tarnish the ones that are good women.
00:21:08.000 Because in Miami, once you get, you know, once you get hit by one of these chicks two or three times, now you think they're all the same.
00:21:08.000 Yeah.
00:21:18.000 And I guess they're not all the same.
00:21:21.000 It's just the places that you meet them.
00:21:23.000 Like, it's, you know, you have to, you have to, You're not meeting these girls in church.
00:21:30.000 You're not.
00:21:31.000 What about Michigan, for example?
00:21:34.000 Listen, it's not just Miami.
00:21:37.000 Yes, there's girls in Michigan that I know that got three, four dudes.
00:21:41.000 You know what I mean?
00:21:41.000 Yeah.
00:21:43.000 One of them took one of my friends down through there, and my other friend was like, oh, she's got a dude flying her out to New York.
00:21:50.000 She's got.
00:21:51.000 So these chicks are trying to work every dude, every city.
00:21:55.000 Yeah.
00:21:56.000 But you just have to find a good one.
00:21:56.000 The bad ones.
00:21:58.000 Like just this weekend, I attended a wedding and.
00:22:03.000 Here at the Rusty Pelican, and it was beautiful, amazing.
00:22:06.000 And I got to watch this young man grow, and he's a doctor now, a surgeon.
00:22:12.000 And I love him like family.
00:22:13.000 I met him, I met his uncle since I've been here.
00:22:16.000 He lived with us a year in Michigan, and he met this beautiful woman that he fell in love with.
00:22:23.000 And I got to watch these two people share a very special moment.
00:22:28.000 And it tugs at your heart because you're like, wow, they are out there, and he did find one, but it's still hard.
00:22:36.000 I always wonder.
00:22:37.000 Look at Hero staring.
00:22:38.000 Hero's looking for one.
00:22:39.000 He's looking for one too.
00:22:40.000 Shout out to my dog, Hero.
00:22:41.000 I was wondering because, like, to me, marriage is definitely necessary for family, for structure, for kids.
00:22:48.000 But I question government being involved because, for me, it's kind of like I've seen people get married today and then next couple of weeks sorry, months, a year she's gone with half the money out the window.
00:22:59.000 So I believe in marriage by the church, not by the state.
00:23:02.000 If you really love someone, a piece of paper from the state means nothing.
00:23:07.000 Yep.
00:23:08.000 You, you like all that piece of paper means is that if I do something stupid, you're responsible for me.
00:23:15.000 Yeah.
00:23:16.000 And they can take everything that we have.
00:23:19.000 If we never have that piece of paper, but we have an understanding where you really trust each other and you have everything in a trust and say, if something happens to me, this is yours.
00:23:29.000 If something happens to you, this is mine.
00:23:31.000 That's trust and that's love.
00:23:33.000 A piece of paper from the government doesn't mean shit to me.
00:23:40.000 One more thing.
00:23:40.000 So, Rick, what about guys that don't want to get married?
00:23:45.000 Guys just want to have a good time.
00:23:47.000 Have fun and focus on like making money.
00:23:50.000 Is that a good strategy you think as an older guy?
00:23:52.000 Listen, the one thing I tell all my friends in life as long as you're happy.
00:24:01.000 If you're happy and you're making money and you want to go out and you don't want to settle down and you're truly happy, be happy.
00:24:09.000 Pay your cleaning lady.
00:24:10.000 Nobody's telling you what to do.
00:24:12.000 You can go home, you can do whatever you want to do, you can come and go as you please.
00:24:16.000 But if you got a chick that you live with, you can't do that.
00:24:20.000 So it's, there's a balance, man.
00:24:24.000 And that balance sometimes is hard.
00:24:26.000 I have a lot of friends that, one of them, he's like my little brother.
00:24:30.000 I went shopping one day and his wife gave me anxiety.
00:24:36.000 And it wasn't even my money.
00:24:37.000 It was at a house.
00:24:39.000 I was like, oh, what the fuck?
00:24:41.000 Like, bro, like, if you don't make the money, you don't know what it is to spend it.
00:24:50.000 Right.
00:24:51.000 Can't appreciate it.
00:24:52.000 You can't.
00:24:53.000 You think that it's never ending, and it's not.
00:24:56.000 There's a huge difference between a need and a want.
00:25:01.000 There's a lot of things I want, but as a man, I realize I don't need them.
00:25:06.000 And I have a lot of nice shit, but I don't need it.
00:25:10.000 I had everything, I lost everything.
00:25:12.000 I'm the same person.
00:25:14.000 Now I have everything again just because I like nice shit, but I don't need it all.
00:25:18.000 Can you speak to somebody losing everything?
00:25:22.000 A lot of guys nowadays, they've either lost a job.
00:25:25.000 Lost family members, lost friends, and they always focus on, damn, I lost it.
00:25:30.000 I'm out of it.
00:25:31.000 You could put him in a bedroom.
00:25:33.000 And at this point, they kind of want to say, you know what?
00:25:35.000 I give up.
00:25:36.000 I give up.
00:25:37.000 I don't know what to do.
00:25:39.000 A true grinder and hustler will never use those words because if you made it once, the first time you make it is the hardest, the second time is easier.
00:25:53.000 And the third, listen, man, I have a friend.
00:25:56.000 His company was valued at over a billion dollars.
00:26:00.000 He could have walked away with 300 M's.
00:26:03.000 Started from nothing.
00:26:05.000 He said, I'm not taking 300 M's.
00:26:07.000 My company is worth a billion dollars.
00:26:10.000 The company went bankrupt.
00:26:12.000 What?
00:26:14.000 He did a collab with another company.
00:26:18.000 Things got colluded or fucked up.
00:26:21.000 The company went broke.
00:26:22.000 Damn.
00:26:23.000 But he started a new company.
00:26:25.000 And this is what I tell you this man started a new company.
00:26:30.000 Totally different field.
00:26:32.000 He'll do 50 million in revenue this year.
00:26:35.000 You know who I'm talking about, and I love you.
00:26:37.000 And I'm proud of you.
00:26:38.000 There you go.
00:26:39.000 So you're saying never give up, obviously speaking, but two, once you do it one time, you can do it again.
00:26:45.000 Absolutely.
00:26:46.000 Listen, the first time you do anything is the hardest in life.
00:26:52.000 The first time you do whatever it is ride a bike, drive a car, whatever it is, make your first million is the hardest.
00:27:02.000 After that, man, it's easy.
00:27:04.000 You fall off that bike, you jump back on.
00:27:07.000 You lose that mill, you jump back in, you make another mill.
00:27:10.000 Good point.
00:27:12.000 Let's say when it comes to what a man needs, you would say, in your opinion, from your experience, what does a man really need?
00:27:20.000 Two cars, a house, a Rolex?
00:27:22.000 Everybody's different, bro.
00:27:25.000 Really, all we need in life is to be happy.
00:27:28.000 Like, and healthy.
00:27:28.000 Yeah.
00:27:30.000 Health is wealth.
00:27:31.000 But, you know, something that makes me happy might not make you happy or might not make the next man.
00:27:39.000 Some dudes collect Pokemon cards.
00:27:42.000 I like cars.
00:27:43.000 I collect cars.
00:27:45.000 Like, it's just different.
00:27:47.000 Like, I like, as a kid, I like jewelry.
00:27:50.000 I still like jewelry.
00:27:52.000 Like, I like sneakers.
00:27:53.000 I have too many sneakers.
00:27:55.000 Omar clowns me.
00:27:56.000 Like, bro, you don't need this.
00:27:58.000 Bro, I might order 10 of the same sneaker from StockX.
00:28:02.000 Shout out to Omar.
00:28:03.000 Shout out to StockX.
00:28:04.000 Let me get something.
00:28:05.000 But, like, it's just different, man.
00:28:09.000 Like, what people really need and want are two different things.
00:28:13.000 Like, And everyone's happiness is different, but if you can find that peace and that happiness, life is so much better, man.
00:28:21.000 I'll be honest, bro.
00:28:22.000 I was a little bit hating on people in Monaco this past weekend.
00:28:28.000 They were having a blast in Monaco bottles, mega yachts.
00:28:31.000 I saw the Grand Prix, and I was like, We should have been there, Rick.
00:28:35.000 We should have been there, bro.
00:28:36.000 We live that life every day.
00:28:38.000 We live that life.
00:28:39.000 We do actually in Miami.
00:28:40.000 We do.
00:28:40.000 We were on a one of one yacht Sunday at Kiki on the River.
00:28:46.000 If you want to see it, post it on my Twitter.
00:28:48.000 Um, and it's an amazing actually.
00:28:50.000 Can we bring it on the screen on my X?
00:28:52.000 Yeah, dude, that was an amazing yacht.
00:28:54.000 That's the only Wally 200 in America, and we were on it.
00:29:00.000 Yeah, that was a shout out to my man for having all of us.
00:29:03.000 Thank you.
00:29:05.000 One of my little bros, little bro, had a bachelor's party.
00:29:08.000 Yeah, we had a blast.
00:29:10.000 So that was our monocle right there.
00:29:12.000 Yeah, bro.
00:29:13.000 Like, listen, people are like, Oh, you need to go here.
00:29:15.000 I was like, For what?
00:29:17.000 I live in Miami, I do that every day.
00:29:18.000 100%.
00:29:19.000 I was on, I was one day, I was on.
00:29:23.000 The baddest center council adrenaline, a 50 foot adrenaline center council.
00:29:28.000 Shout out to Adrenaline Mike Layton.
00:29:31.000 The baddest center council being made today.
00:29:35.000 I was on that one day, the next day, I was on a one of one Wally 200.
00:29:40.000 So, life's pretty good.
00:29:41.000 I push a button, the door opens up.
00:29:45.000 I push it, closes.
00:29:46.000 I'm like, Am I in a Rolls Royce or what?
00:29:49.000 The stairs are carbon fiber.
00:29:51.000 Did you realize that?
00:29:52.000 Nah.
00:29:53.000 Okay, so no, you know, I have an obsession with carbon fiber on my cars.
00:29:56.000 You can play audio.
00:29:57.000 So, check it out.
00:29:58.000 This is the yacht that we're talking about, guys.
00:30:00.000 Here we did it on Sunday at Kiki, it was an amazing experience.
00:30:03.000 Shout out to the owner as well, and Rick, clap me on.
00:30:07.000 Our friend, our brother, he owns it.
00:30:09.000 Yeah, he invites us, and we're fortunate to have friends like that.
00:30:16.000 And I was the only black guy there, W.
00:30:18.000 But no, no, so Rick, he wasn't, he was the only black guy on the yacht.
00:30:22.000 There was other black, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:30:24.000 You're right, you're right.
00:30:25.000 They were wanting to be on the yacht with you, but you didn't let them.
00:30:27.000 Nah, nah, nah, nah.
00:30:28.000 I can't, brother.
00:30:29.000 Everybody wanted on there, yeah.
00:30:29.000 I can't.
00:30:31.000 Girls and guys.
00:30:32.000 Check it out, guys.
00:30:33.000 This is insane.
00:30:37.000 This one is like the back part of it.
00:30:39.000 Like the front is even crazier.
00:30:41.000 The inside is crazier, too.
00:30:43.000 It's pretty dope.
00:30:46.000 And that's every Sunday I met Kiki, pretty much.
00:30:50.000 It's a beautiful boat.
00:30:52.000 And we were very fortunate to be on the boat.
00:30:52.000 Yeah.
00:30:56.000 And I hope everybody at some point in your life.
00:30:59.000 Gets an opportunity to experience what we do.
00:31:02.000 I really do.
00:31:03.000 I hope everybody gets an experience.
00:31:06.000 Like, I know we're blessed and fortunate.
00:31:08.000 Yeah.
00:31:09.000 I don't take anything for granted.
00:31:11.000 And that's why when I can let somebody on, I let them on.
00:31:16.000 Even, bro, I let people in the booth that sometimes I shouldn't let.
00:31:20.000 But we were in Vegas one time, and one of my friends was like, Bro, who let them in here?
00:31:26.000 And I was like, Man, leave them alone.
00:31:28.000 They're having the time of their life.
00:31:30.000 You know what I mean?
00:31:31.000 So for me, sometimes to give that opportunity means everything, bro.
00:31:36.000 100%.
00:31:37.000 If you just let someone walk through there, it's not mine.
00:31:42.000 I'm fortunate to be on there.
00:31:43.000 So if I can let someone else experience it, I always do.
00:31:47.000 You know what we should do for the chat?
00:31:49.000 We should pick people one day that are super cool, bring them to Miami on one of the yachts.
00:31:54.000 We should do like a party someday.
00:31:55.000 Absolutely.
00:31:57.000 Come on, you guys, this experience, man, just one time will change your mindset.
00:32:00.000 Because you think, okay, I know what money is.
00:32:03.000 I know what wealth is.
00:32:04.000 Nah.
00:32:05.000 And to me, I'm looking at Monaco like, damn, we ain't doing shit here.
00:32:08.000 But we are.
00:32:09.000 We're very blessed.
00:32:10.000 That's a good point.
00:32:10.000 We are.
00:32:11.000 So when it comes to, I want to say, Someone that's not successful.
00:32:16.000 I want to say one thing.
00:32:17.000 Sure, go ahead.
00:32:18.000 We are very blessed.
00:32:20.000 God put us in a position that we're in.
00:32:23.000 But don't try and keep up with the Joneses if you're listening.
00:32:27.000 Good point.
00:32:28.000 There's always somebody that has something better than you, nicer than you, whatever.
00:32:34.000 That's where I say find your happiness.
00:32:37.000 My happiness is the things that I have that I like.
00:32:43.000 But when I pull up and see a million dollar car, And I'm in a $400,000 car.
00:32:48.000 I'm happy for that dude.
00:32:50.000 So, find the things.
00:32:53.000 A lot of kids, like one of my partners, has way more money than me.
00:32:58.000 He loves Chevrolets.
00:33:00.000 He has the baddest Chevrolets.
00:33:02.000 He's got a Ferrari too and some other stuff, but he loves Chevrolet.
00:33:06.000 He'll leave my Lamborghini outside and put his Chevrolet in the garage.
00:33:09.000 Really?
00:33:10.000 And he's like, oh, we can replace that.
00:33:10.000 Yeah.
00:33:12.000 We can't replace this Chevrolet.
00:33:15.000 But it's just.
00:33:18.000 What makes you happy?
00:33:19.000 And a Monte Carlo SS might make you happy, and a Ferrari 458 might make me happy.
00:33:26.000 So, again, that's all I just find what makes you happy, and you're balling.
00:33:33.000 How did you, having everything, going to nothing, not hate somebody for having more than you when you came back out?
00:33:41.000 Because that's a real, like, I would say that's good of you because I'm all like, we got a lot of haters online.
00:33:45.000 People hate on you for what you have.
00:33:46.000 How are you doing?
00:33:47.000 Listen, a very.
00:33:50.000 Well off friend of mine told me, he said, I don't really do social media.
00:33:56.000 He said, but I'm going to give you a life lesson.
00:33:59.000 Let me hear it.
00:34:00.000 He said, nobody that's doing better than you will ever hate on you.
00:34:05.000 So everybody that's hating, they're not happy and they're not doing better than you.
00:34:10.000 So maybe hating on us makes them happy.
00:34:14.000 So God bless them.
00:34:16.000 I hope one day they get rid of that hate and they get a Ferrari.
00:34:19.000 That'd be dope.
00:34:20.000 But will they?
00:34:21.000 Who knows?
00:34:21.000 Who knows?
00:34:22.000 That's up to them.
00:34:23.000 It ain't up to us.
00:34:24.000 Yeah.
00:34:25.000 You ain't going to get it hating online, I'll tell you that.
00:34:28.000 So, how does somebody nowadays you think invest their money correctly?
00:34:32.000 Because, you know, there's real estate, there's crypto, there's stocks.
00:34:35.000 How does Rick invest my money correctly?
00:34:36.000 For me, I don't fuck with crypto.
00:34:38.000 Like, if you want to build generational wealth, they're not making any more land.
00:34:45.000 You know what I mean?
00:34:46.000 So, for me, one of my friends down here is a very huge real estate holder.
00:34:53.000 And another one of my friends is a big developer.
00:34:56.000 And they've shown me a different way of life.
00:35:02.000 And what I think is money is not really money.
00:35:05.000 Like, I was sitting at a table and I was with Julian, and I was like, I don't think we're supposed to be in this conversation.
00:35:12.000 But they're my friends.
00:35:14.000 You know what I mean?
00:35:14.000 I respect them and they respect me.
00:35:16.000 But I listen and I absorb.
00:35:20.000 And for me, you know, if you really want to build wealth for your family, Nobody starts at the top.
00:35:28.000 Go buy one house and fix it up and put a renter in there.
00:35:32.000 And in five years, that house might be worth double.
00:35:35.000 What am I sorry?
00:35:36.000 You just did it.
00:35:37.000 In five years, your property doubled.
00:35:39.000 And you've been collecting and you've been making money every month.
00:35:43.000 Every month.
00:35:44.000 Every month.
00:35:44.000 So there's a lot of guys online that they show you the way.
00:35:49.000 And I watch a lot of those guys.
00:35:50.000 I love those guys that get on the internet and get on Instagram and they talk about renting to veterans and doing this and doing other things.
00:35:59.000 Section A is one of them.
00:36:00.000 Section eight, one of my friends is huge on renting to veterans, and I'm proud of him.
00:36:04.000 He's helping people and he's making a good living for his family.
00:36:08.000 That's honorable.
00:36:09.000 Yeah.
00:36:10.000 You know, it's crazy because everyone has their thing that they invest in for the most part.
00:36:15.000 By the way, I don't think we treat our veterans good enough in this country.
00:36:18.000 We don't.
00:36:19.000 That's my personal belief.
00:36:21.000 I don't think anybody that served their country should be homeless.
00:36:25.000 Some people will probably say I'm wrong, but the things these guys did, they laid their lives on the line for our country, and I think how we treat some of them is despicable.
00:36:34.000 My thought.
00:36:35.000 Yeah, it's sad, bro.
00:36:36.000 It's very sad because you gave up a lot for the country.
00:36:39.000 Some gave all.
00:36:40.000 Yeah.
00:36:41.000 Some gave all.
00:36:42.000 And you might have disabilities too, which.
00:36:45.000 But thank you for service, all the veterans that.
00:36:47.000 You know, 22 veterans a day commit suicide?
00:36:51.000 Really?
00:36:52.000 22 a day.
00:36:54.000 A friend taught me that today.
00:36:57.000 Wow.
00:36:57.000 22 veterans a day commit suicide.
00:37:00.000 Think about that, man.
00:37:00.000 That's dark.
00:37:01.000 That's dark.
00:37:03.000 Because of what they saw or what they did for their country, 22 veterans a day.
00:37:08.000 Commit suicide.
00:37:10.000 That's fucked up.
00:37:13.000 Really is, bro.
00:37:16.000 What do you think about right now where we're at?
00:37:18.000 Because right now there's a divide between a lot of Americans.
00:37:22.000 Whether you're white, you're black, they want to have a way, a solution to a better life.
00:37:28.000 And obviously, government has control.
00:37:30.000 They make rules, they make laws.
00:37:31.000 But what do you think people should focus on now?
00:37:33.000 First of all, nobody controls what you do with your life.
00:37:37.000 The only person in control of your life is you.
00:37:40.000 Fresh, how long you been in this country?
00:37:42.000 12 years.
00:37:43.000 12 years.
00:37:44.000 You came from Barbados.
00:37:46.000 You're a millionaire.
00:37:47.000 In 12 years, you own properties.
00:37:51.000 You're driving a Rolls Royce.
00:37:52.000 You're driving a G-Wagon, an Aston Martin.
00:37:55.000 You live good.
00:37:55.000 You dress good.
00:37:56.000 You this.
00:37:57.000 So destiny is controlled by you.
00:38:01.000 I don't, me, I don't give a fuck who the president is.
00:38:05.000 I really don't.
00:38:06.000 When everybody gets all worked up about, oh my God, this dude or this dude.
00:38:10.000 My life still goes on.
00:38:12.000 I wake up every day and I do the same thing that I've been doing.
00:38:16.000 So vote for whoever you want.
00:38:18.000 We have one of the dumbest politicians in America that put a tax on our business in Michigan and it's crippling our industry.
00:38:28.000 I still wake up every day and I do what I do and I move forward.
00:38:32.000 And hopefully that tax will be repealed.
00:38:35.000 And if not, it's something we learn to live with and we have to pay it because our government imposed it.
00:38:42.000 So you describe personal accountability.
00:38:45.000 And that goes a long way.
00:38:46.000 Not a victim, not worried about what people say about you, what you're doing.
00:38:49.000 You got to focus on yourself.
00:38:50.000 Now, I love that because that's what we did as well for our show.
00:38:54.000 You know, that's what we do personally.
00:38:56.000 But I just wonder everyone has their way to get out.
00:39:03.000 Some people miss that boat.
00:39:04.000 What would you say is a key way to know if you're missing an opportunity or not?
00:39:08.000 Because, for example, you might get a friend that gives you, hey, we should do this business together.
00:39:12.000 You say, nah, bro, I like what I do here.
00:39:14.000 You missed the opportunity.
00:39:16.000 How do you find opportunity in a world full of distractions?
00:39:19.000 Not every opportunity is a good opportunity.
00:39:22.000 I mean, you have to have people bring opportunities to me all the time.
00:39:26.000 All the time, yeah.
00:39:27.000 So, You know, you have to weigh those opportunities and you also have to be willing to take a risk.
00:39:34.000 Like, nothing is foolproof or 100%.
00:39:40.000 You know, your property doubled, it could have gone down.
00:39:43.000 Look what happened when I was locked up when everything crashed.
00:39:47.000 You know what I mean?
00:39:48.000 That's that.
00:39:50.000 This is the world we live in.
00:39:51.000 That still can happen this day.
00:39:54.000 It can happen again.
00:39:55.000 Hopefully, it never does, but it could.
00:39:59.000 And It's you know, you just have to.
00:40:03.000 If you find something to do that you like or that you love, you're gonna get up and enjoy going to work every day.
00:40:13.000 I have friends that own restaurants, I have friends that own real estate.
00:40:16.000 I have a friend that's a billionaire that owns real estate every day.
00:40:20.000 You don't have to do anything.
00:40:22.000 Every day, that man gets up and drives around and checks on his real estate.
00:40:26.000 Do I know him?
00:40:27.000 You know, but he doesn't have to do that, yeah.
00:40:32.000 This is a life lesson to me as well as everybody that's listening.
00:40:37.000 This man is set for the rest of his life and 10 lifetimes.
00:40:42.000 100%.
00:40:43.000 Every day, this man gets up and he goes around and he checks his properties and he does his own due diligence.
00:40:50.000 And I love him for that.
00:40:53.000 You know what's funny, guys?
00:40:54.000 You see him on the street, you wouldn't even know.
00:40:57.000 Never in your life.
00:40:58.000 You will not even know what he has or what he does.
00:41:01.000 Never in your life.
00:41:02.000 So, what you see is not always what you get.
00:41:05.000 Real quick, guys, we're going to do a sponsorship read here.
00:41:08.000 One of our sponsors, Legends.
00:41:10.000 And they're helping me a lot with the show as well, sponsoring the show.
00:41:12.000 So thank you, Legends, for helping us and also for the merch.
00:41:14.000 Shout out to Legends.
00:41:17.000 So it's funny.
00:41:19.000 Real quick, before we do this read, Rick, do you ever gamble?
00:41:24.000 From time to time.
00:41:25.000 You know what's crazy, bro?
00:41:27.000 I, for years, never gambled.
00:41:29.000 I never thought about it, never wanted to do it.
00:41:32.000 And then I went to Vegas with some friends, and I was like, wow.
00:41:36.000 He put 10, came home with 200.
00:41:38.000 I'm like, doesn't always happen that way.
00:41:41.000 Doesn't always happen that way.
00:41:42.000 You're right.
00:41:42.000 You're right.
00:41:42.000 Listen, I don't like gambling is good if you do it in moderation.
00:41:48.000 But it can be very bad as well.
00:41:48.000 Moderation.
00:41:50.000 Like alcohol can be very bad.
00:41:53.000 Women can be very bad.
00:41:54.000 Anything you do.
00:41:55.000 This is a perfect example of something.
00:41:59.000 Me and Flo go gamble together.
00:42:02.000 Florida.
00:42:03.000 Correct.
00:42:03.000 Talk to him.
00:42:04.000 He's like, bro, we're going to gamble three G's a piece.
00:42:08.000 Flo got way more money than me.
00:42:11.000 We do it for entertainment.
00:42:12.000 Now, listen, I've won over 100 G's at one time before.
00:42:18.000 And two days later, I was up 96 G's and I said, Oh, I'm going to quit at 100.
00:42:23.000 And I went down to 30.
00:42:24.000 And that was when I really quit gambling.
00:42:27.000 Yeah, because I realized it's kind of like a little bit like trading.
00:42:31.000 You put what you're willing to lose only.
00:42:33.000 And that's what you have to do.
00:42:34.000 But it's very difficult sometimes if you can gamble online.
00:42:40.000 Like, if I lose what's in my pocket, I know what I lost.
00:42:45.000 And it's finished.
00:42:46.000 And it's done.
00:42:47.000 But if they're taking that shit out of my account, in Michigan, we have online gambling.
00:42:53.000 Like, I don't know how our roads are all still fucked up from all the money that people gamble and all the taxes from weed, but that's an answer for our government there.
00:43:03.000 But like, online gambling is another thing, like the internet.
00:43:08.000 It's a blessing and a curse.
00:43:10.000 100%.
00:43:11.000 Shout out to Offenheimer Ranch Project for rating the stream.
00:43:13.000 Shout out to you.
00:43:14.000 All right.
00:43:15.000 So, yo, you know what I found the other day?
00:43:17.000 A new online casino, a place called Legends with a Z.com.
00:43:21.000 I played a blackjack and it was actually fun.
00:43:23.000 Did you know you could play with real people dealing to you?
00:43:25.000 It's like a Zoom game of Blackjack.
00:43:27.000 Pretty cool.
00:43:28.000 It's also got a ton of slots, plays with creative games like Mines, and this Rocket game as well.
00:43:32.000 They doubled my first purchase, so it's playing with twice what I put in for free.
00:43:37.000 You can play outside the US too, allegends.io.
00:43:40.000 I thought it was cool, and I appreciate them a lot for sponsoring the show.
00:43:43.000 Use code FRESH in the description box down below.
00:43:43.000 Check them out today.
00:43:46.000 So, I guess for me, it was kind of like, went up to Vegas.
00:43:50.000 I was so opposed to this.
00:43:51.000 I was like, you know what?
00:43:53.000 That's lame.
00:43:53.000 Never do that.
00:43:54.000 But then I was like, hold on.
00:43:56.000 I got like 5K here that, like, I don't care if I lose.
00:44:00.000 I put it in, I can't, I left home with 20.
00:44:03.000 And I was just like, but that's a success story.
00:44:06.000 But that's a success story.
00:44:07.000 There's thousands of failures.
00:44:08.000 Yeah, bro.
00:44:09.000 Listen, I've been with my friends out there and they've won a million dollars.
00:44:15.000 And I also have a friend that gambled away everything and lost everything.
00:44:19.000 Gambling can be a horrible addiction that not only affects you, it affects your whole family.
00:44:26.000 So, moderation.
00:44:26.000 For me, moderation.
00:44:29.000 What is investing other than real estate?
00:44:32.000 Gold?
00:44:33.000 I have, I like jewelry.
00:44:35.000 A lot of people thought I was stupid.
00:44:37.000 Some of my friends laugh and say I have a jewelry and car brand, but all of my jewelry that I own, I have doubled or tripled the value of it since I've owned it.
00:44:47.000 Yeah.
00:44:48.000 Like, is it, for example, the chain?
00:44:50.000 Oh, yeah.
00:44:51.000 Because you know what's crazy?
00:44:52.000 People were like, it's stupid to buy jewelry.
00:44:55.000 You're so dumb for doing that.
00:44:57.000 And I was like, okay, you know what?
00:44:58.000 You might be right.
00:44:59.000 Yeah, ask these dudes that ask Busta that million dollar chain he's wearing that's worth three million if it's stupid.
00:45:07.000 Ask him, ask 50 if all the jewelry he accumulated over the years that 5x'd in value is stupid.
00:45:15.000 Gold is a commodity.
00:45:17.000 Just because you see it on our neck, it's still an investment.
00:45:17.000 It is.
00:45:20.000 If I need to sell this, I can go right now and sell this.
00:45:24.000 It's better than money.
00:45:27.000 Gold's taken all over the world, our currency isn't.
00:45:30.000 What about watches?
00:45:30.000 You're right.
00:45:32.000 Watches can be a good investment as well.
00:45:34.000 I have some great watches that right now, because of the price of gold, I could scrap the watches and get more than I paid for them, which I would never do because of the craftsmanship that went into them.
00:45:47.000 But I could scrap them and get more.
00:45:50.000 Do you think that, like, right now, because obviously things are not the best in the marketplace?
00:45:56.000 You know, most people are without jobs now.
00:45:59.000 Is AI coming?
00:46:01.000 What's the best advice you could give to somebody to move forward?
00:46:04.000 In this current economy?
00:46:05.000 Because, in my opinion, I think you should focus on one skill that you're actually good at, one skill that you're good at, and focus on that, invest in yourself.
00:46:13.000 What do you think?
00:46:15.000 I truly believe in investing in yourself.
00:46:17.000 And myself right now, I don't think gold is very high, silver is very high.
00:46:26.000 When the refineries stop buying something, that's a signal.
00:46:30.000 A refinery, my friend told me today, would not buy silver from them, a jeweler.
00:46:34.000 So that means that they think silver is going to go down.
00:46:38.000 Oh, shit.
00:46:38.000 So if you really pay attention, you know not to buy, invest in silver right now.
00:46:42.000 Guys, that's a good tip, guys, right there.
00:46:44.000 And, you know, gold, they had stopped buying it when it hit $5,500.
00:46:49.000 Refineries weren't buying gold.
00:46:52.000 But now they're buying gold again.
00:46:54.000 Gold's around $4,200, $4,300, I think.
00:46:57.000 I think gold's going to go lower.
00:46:58.000 So for me, I'm not buying any jewelry.
00:47:01.000 None.
00:47:02.000 None.
00:47:02.000 No more.
00:47:02.000 Well, I'll tell you what I want to buy off camera, but another watch.
00:47:08.000 So before we close out here, Rick, give us your ultimate advice for a young man in today's world.
00:47:15.000 Because obviously you have wisdom, you've experienced, you've been through a lot, you've made a lot, you lost a lot.
00:47:19.000 What's your main advice to young men nowadays to succeed in life and do better?
00:47:25.000 Number one piece of advice I would give young men is be mindful of your decisions because the decision you make today as a young man could affect you for the rest of your life.
00:47:39.000 Decisions I made as a child when I didn't really know what I was doing, they affect me to this day.
00:47:48.000 So I'm a convicted felon for the rest of my life.
00:47:51.000 There's things that I can't do.
00:47:53.000 That other people have an opportunity to do.
00:47:57.000 And that bothers me.
00:48:00.000 So, but I have to live with it because I did whatever I did.
00:48:04.000 And those are the laws of the country in which we reside.
00:48:08.000 But listen, get an education, work, whether I don't care if you like rap music or social media or you want to own a McDonald's or whatever it may be.
00:48:22.000 If you work hard towards that goal, We live in America.
00:48:25.000 You can do it.
00:48:26.000 You can make it happen, bro.
00:48:26.000 You can make it happen.
00:48:28.000 I've seen people, I've seen some of my friends who lost their lives when they were young and their kids don't even know them.
00:48:36.000 And one of them I'm super proud of.
00:48:38.000 He owns restaurants and clubs.
00:48:40.000 And his dad was a hustler.
00:48:42.000 And he's got that hustle in him.
00:48:44.000 And he just took that and, you know, he turned it into something.
00:48:50.000 Shout out to the Cobbler Factory in Detroit.
00:48:53.000 I can't wait to come check you out and eat there.
00:48:55.000 Shout to them.
00:48:56.000 He turned it around, bro.
00:48:58.000 And, you know, like to do that without a father, you know, my son grew up without me his whole adult life.
00:49:05.000 He put himself through school and he became an executive.
00:49:09.000 Me, I think some things are harder for girls without a father.
00:49:15.000 So, but the young men, like, you know, this young man, Carmelo Anthony, two lives were lost.
00:49:25.000 Not just the life he took, he lost his life too.
00:49:28.000 Mmm.
00:49:30.000 He lost his life.
00:49:31.000 He just doesn't realize it yet.
00:49:33.000 And he's, you know, at the end of the day, he's a child.
00:49:38.000 And the judge did show him some mercy.
00:49:40.000 He gave him 35 years.
00:49:42.000 Could have given him life without parole.
00:49:45.000 But he's going to grow up in there.
00:49:49.000 Hopefully, he has an opportunity to change for the better.
00:49:53.000 But one family lost their son forever and never can talk to him again.
00:49:58.000 And that's a very, very.
00:50:00.000 Tragic and hard thing to deal with.
00:50:02.000 Like that young man lost his life and he's never coming back.
00:50:07.000 Carmelo has an opportunity to seek redemption and come back.
00:50:12.000 So for the family that lost that young man, it's hard to explain that to them, bro, because you grieve forever.
00:50:20.000 They lost their son.
00:50:21.000 No one wants to bury a child.
00:50:23.000 Yeah.
00:50:24.000 Like it's, there's no right or wrong answer.
00:50:28.000 You know what I mean?
00:50:29.000 This was two kids, bro, that.
00:50:33.000 Like a horrible, tragic thing happened.
00:50:38.000 And, you know, I don't, my heart goes out to the family that lost their son because they're never gonna hear his voice again.
00:50:47.000 They're never gonna see his birthday again.
00:50:49.000 They're never gonna have grandkids by him.
00:50:51.000 You know, for a mother and father or a sister and a brother, that's very hard.
00:50:56.000 And I don't think people realize it.
00:50:59.000 We'll play the video here just to sum up what just Rip just said.
00:51:02.000 But yeah, this is a video here.
00:51:04.000 He was found guilty of murder and a 35 year sentence, which some people said is too short.
00:51:08.000 He should have got the death penalty.
00:51:11.000 It's kind of split in the middle between both factors.
00:51:13.000 How old was this young man?
00:51:15.000 How old was he?
00:51:16.000 Double check, real quick, Bills.
00:51:17.000 I think he was like, what?
00:51:19.000 18?
00:51:20.000 Hold on, double check.
00:51:22.000 Carmelo.
00:51:26.000 How old is he?
00:51:27.000 He's 19.
00:51:29.000 When he did it?
00:51:30.000 Or now?
00:51:31.000 19 now.
00:51:32.000 He was probably 18 when he did it.
00:51:34.000 And there's a reason that we as a society have changed these laws.
00:51:41.000 To say without a hearing, when I was a kid, I was 17, I was sentenced to die in prison.
00:51:47.000 And the United States Supreme Court said it was a violation of the Eighth Amendment, which I created my brand around, and said no juvenile can have life for anything other than murder.
00:51:57.000 And even if they have murder, shout out to Terrence Graham, Graham v. Florida, who created that case.
00:52:03.000 But this case was in another state, I believe Louisiana, I can't remember.
00:52:11.000 But you have to give a kid a hearing.
00:52:16.000 You know, the judge must have found that he believed that in years this kid could change his life and do better.
00:52:24.000 And it's sad that this is the society that we live in and that these two young men lost their lives.
00:52:34.000 I didn't know that your case actually was the foundation for.
00:52:39.000 My case wasn't.
00:52:40.000 Florida versus Graham was.
00:52:42.000 Oh, okay.
00:52:43.000 And Terrence Graham, who I'm friends with to this day.
00:52:47.000 And I got to meet him.
00:52:48.000 In prison, we met, and his case basically saved my life.
00:52:55.000 We were the only country in the world that gave kids life for anything other than murder.
00:53:03.000 Terrence Graham was on probation.
00:53:06.000 He caught a case, he beat the case.
00:53:10.000 The same judge that gave Terrence Graham probation sentenced him to life in prison.
00:53:16.000 So imagine this judge thought, Okay, I'll give this young man probation.
00:53:22.000 This young man gets in trouble, beats the case, and this same fucked up judge turned around and gave this young man life.
00:53:31.000 Oh, man.
00:53:32.000 And thank God and the powers that be that the United States Supreme Court said, you can't do this.
00:53:40.000 And, bro, these are, we were given 14 and 15 year old children life in prison.
00:53:47.000 Yeah.
00:53:49.000 Russia wrote an article when I was in prison that said not even Russia would sentence a juvenile for drugs to life in prison.
00:53:56.000 Really?
00:53:56.000 My friend was 16 years old.
00:54:00.000 16.
00:54:01.000 I was 17.
00:54:02.000 Kevin was 16 and sentenced to die in prison.
00:54:07.000 Who in their right mind sentenced a child for a drug crime to die in prison?
00:54:13.000 Only drugs?
00:54:14.000 Only drugs.
00:54:17.000 That was our system.
00:54:20.000 35, 37 years ago.
00:54:24.000 And the laws have changed so much today that the same thing we got life for, we can get probation for now.
00:54:32.000 That's crazy.
00:54:33.000 I mean, look, man, the justice system has changed a lot, but dude, it's still not perfect.
00:54:38.000 So we'll play the video, though, so you guys can see what's happening here.
00:54:40.000 But he's been charged, sorry, found guilty of murder.
00:54:43.000 So here we go.
00:54:45.000 It is a guilty verdict, guilty of murder in this case of Carmelo Anthony.
00:54:53.000 Brooke is moving to the camera right now as we wait for the official word.
00:54:58.000 We expect that this means that they will come out and make a statement at some point.
00:55:06.000 Immediately, Jonathan, as we wait, what would be happening in this courtroom right now?
00:55:10.000 The verdict has been read.
00:55:11.000 I would imagine that he will be escorted to chambers and then back to jail.
00:55:16.000 He's been, he's been, he has not been in jail.
00:55:19.000 And I am hearing that it is a guilty verdict, guilty of murder.
00:55:26.000 Yeah, I'll be honest, bro.
00:55:28.000 People were writing right there outside of Coralis.
00:55:31.000 Some people were mad.
00:55:32.000 They're like, it's too long.
00:55:35.000 Susan is not long enough.
00:55:37.000 Everybody has their opinion.
00:55:39.000 I mean, right now, this is a very touchy subject.
00:55:42.000 Very.
00:55:43.000 And you're going to see things from both sides.
00:55:46.000 And, you know, it's just sad, bro.
00:55:50.000 Like, this is the time that we're living in that these kids got in a fight.
00:55:55.000 And listen, I have a friend, may he rest in peace.
00:55:58.000 We used to call him Baldy.
00:55:59.000 This exact same thing happened to him when we were kids over a football game.
00:56:04.000 They were playing football.
00:56:06.000 Baldy hit the kid too hard.
00:56:07.000 Kid went home, got a butcher knife, stabbed him, and killed him.
00:56:10.000 What?
00:56:11.000 We were kids.
00:56:11.000 We were 14 years old.
00:56:14.000 This exact same thing.
00:56:15.000 Where's he now?
00:56:16.000 Is he in jail?
00:56:17.000 The kid?
00:56:18.000 Yeah.
00:56:18.000 No, he went to juvenile back then.
00:56:20.000 But thank, you know, like, but Baldy, you know, may rest in peace.
00:56:27.000 He had a kid and, you know, a girlfriend back then and this, and we lost him very, I remember sitting at the hospital.
00:56:35.000 Baldy might have been a couple years older than me, but I remember me and all my friends gathering at this hospital.
00:56:41.000 And when they came out and told us, everybody was in shock.
00:56:47.000 Over a football game.
00:56:54.000 Yo, life is crazy, guys.
00:56:56.000 Look, man, this was a good interview, Rick.
00:56:58.000 I mean, I'm still, yeah, that's very, very sad, bro.
00:57:02.000 Death is never easy to anybody.
00:57:05.000 Thoughts and prayers to the family that lost their son.
00:57:07.000 Yeah.
00:57:10.000 Where can I find you, Rick?
00:57:13.000 You can find me at RickWershiJr. on Instagram.
00:57:16.000 The eighth by whiteboyrick.com.
00:57:18.000 Can you bring it on screen, please, if you don't mind?
00:57:21.000 From Instagram.
00:57:23.000 But okay, so just one more thing before we close out here.
00:57:26.000 Do you think that right now where we're at, because there's kind of like a divide between black and white, and I think it's foolish because we should come together and unite, but what's happening in this case, people always cause division.
00:57:40.000 Yeah, because they're different races.
00:57:41.000 I mean, you're going to have racism is ignorance.
00:57:45.000 You know what I mean?
00:57:46.000 Like, this kid didn't.
00:57:48.000 Do this, they had a disagreement, and something tragic happened.
00:57:53.000 But every day, there's black on black crime, there's white on white crime, there's Chinese on Chinese crime.
00:57:59.000 Like, it's sad to me when we, as a society, right away jump to a race thing.
00:58:11.000 Like, I don't, I don't, I disagree with that, you know.
00:58:14.000 But people have their own beliefs, and Sometimes you just have to let people believe what they believe.
00:58:22.000 That's the world we live in, Fresh.
00:58:24.000 Like, me or you are not going to change people's minds.
00:58:27.000 We're not.
00:58:28.000 We can give our opinion, but an opinion is like shoes.
00:58:35.000 Everybody's got a pair of shoes, and everybody has an opinion.
00:58:39.000 And if we respected each other's opinions a little more, maybe the world would be a better place.
00:58:46.000 I don't know.
00:58:47.000 I can't fix the world.
00:58:48.000 I just try and do the good that I can do.
00:58:51.000 That's all we can do.
00:58:53.000 And this is his Patriot, guys.
00:58:54.000 Go support Rickman, good friend of ours, and supports the show as well.
00:58:57.000 And we'll see you guys next time.
00:59:00.000 Maybe on a yacht in Miami.
00:59:00.000 You're welcome to come join us sometime if you're in Miami.
00:59:03.000 Hit us up.
