Gaines for Girls with Riley Gaines - Are the Daughters of the American Revolution Allowing Men to Join？

00:00:00.000 hello everybody welcome back to the gains for girls podcast uh always appreciative that you

00:00:12.500 are here that you are listening uh as you know by now you can check us out at outkick.com or

00:00:18.580 anywhere where you get your podcasts but at outkick.com you can follow all things gains

00:00:23.440 for girls never miss an episode uh super duper excited for today's guest um we have ran into

00:00:32.260 each other in many places of course i was at the premiere for lady ballers uh the daily wire film

00:00:38.520 which made a mockery of what is already a mockery of men competing in women's sports uh i saw this

00:00:45.480 person in the airport recently uh making our way to the rnc convention uh and this person is michael

00:00:52.560 knolls of course he is the host of the michael knolls show on the daily wire but super excited

00:00:58.860 to talk with him today because we will be diving into the daughters of the american revolution

00:01:04.360 sounds dry uh sounds like when i first heard of this group probably about a year ago now

00:01:11.220 wasn't overly interested uh sounded like this was for super duper old people uh but i realize now

00:01:18.640 that's not the case because i have a better understanding of what this group is what they

00:01:22.940 do what they have stood for over the years really i mean since since early 1800s i believe um the

00:01:29.500 daughters of the american revolution they are a group uh with a membership based in genealogy

00:01:35.240 that word genealogy of course the root in the word genealogy is genetics right remember that

00:01:43.560 uh well they are now accepting men yes that's right the daughters daughters of the american

00:01:48.820 revolution they are now accepting men and they're trying to say that it has always been this way

00:01:53.800 uh michael did a a fantastic and comprehensive deep dive into what dar has done uh what the

00:02:03.780 what the trajectory of daughters of the american revolution looks like he has talked with members

00:02:09.360 uh women who are involved women who are fed up who think this is a genealogical membership uh based

00:02:17.680 organization and now we're ignoring that forget chromosomes they don't even matter anymore and

00:02:24.060 they're letting men into dar uh really crazy stuff excited to get into this um this deep dive that michael did

00:02:33.460 right here well michael thank you for joining the gains for girls podcast uh i am of course a big fan

00:02:41.020 of yours i am an avid watcher of the michael knoll show uh so it's a thrill to have you on uh the

00:02:47.520 gains for girls podcast the pleasure and honor is all mine riley thanks for having me on a few i mean

00:02:54.440 earlier this week really i guess it was um you had an impressive twitter thread that got lots of

00:03:02.180 traction i actually saw it from megan kelly uh she quote tweeted it and she said something to the

00:03:07.780 effect of you know men pretending to be women are now coming for the daughters of the american revolution

00:03:12.340 uh and she urged everyone to send an email to send this thread um to address and support the policy

00:03:20.340 amendment that would ultimately keep uh women's spaces female only uh tell us a little bit about what 1.00

00:03:26.860 you uncovered in this thread and your involvement with the daughters of the american revolution or i

00:03:34.060 guess i should say the sons of the american revolution well these days who knows i suppose there's some

00:03:39.580 ambiguity these days i i was so gratified to see this twitter thread go viral because i think a lot of us

00:03:46.800 have felt a bit demoralized with this trans issue conservatives have failed even to conserve the girls bathroom

00:03:53.400 you know this is it's been a gut punch after gut punch and when i heard about this some members of

00:03:59.940 the daughters of the american revolution which is a genealogical group of the descendants of the

00:04:05.020 patriots who fought in the american revolution uh they they reached out and they they brought up

00:04:10.140 this absurd though i suppose unexpected fact that the transgender movement is now attempting to 0.97

00:04:18.820 infiltrate even the daughters of the american revolution this is a group that's been around

00:04:23.500 since 1890 it is broadly considered kind of dusty waspy maybe a little dry you know it's it's an

00:04:32.640 historical and genealogical group so it usually doesn't find itself at the center of radical ideological

00:04:41.080 controversies but but the trans movement is coming even for the dar and this is a little bit of a

00:04:46.660 personal issue for me because well i am aware of my biology and my chromosomes uh there is there is

00:04:53.680 a brother organization to the dar that's the sons of the american revolution and my family's been pretty

00:04:59.800 involved in it my grandpa was a chapter president of his sons of the american revolution chapter my

00:05:06.320 father joined i i haven't actually completed my formal paperwork yet but i'm eligible for membership i will

00:05:12.360 be a member whenever i i finish my formal application uh you know this is something that a lot of americans

00:05:18.300 have taken great enjoyment in the the facts that we can trace our lineage back to the founding of the

00:05:24.440 country it's just a real traditional conservative nice group and if we can't protect that kind of group

00:05:32.700 then we're not going to protect anything and we can't predict the most conservative groups for then

00:05:37.120 then we're sunk so i thought it was just dreadful that uh these women who were wonderful and you know

00:05:44.240 serious and stately and lovely women uh were being abused in this way uh and you know in a rather

00:05:50.580 feminine way actually uh i think uh these trans activists thought they could just run roughshod over 0.98

00:05:57.000 over the women who would be too demure to protest but the women of dar are channeling the rebellious 0.97

00:06:03.840 spirit of their ancestors and they're they're fighting back uh unfortunately though the leadership

00:06:09.000 of dar is trying to stifle them the the uh established leadership class there doesn't want 0.95

00:06:16.300 this political fight they want to smuggle in the men who are pretending to be women uh who could join

00:06:21.480 the sons of the american revolution if they wanted to uh and and they're they're trying to keep this out

00:06:27.080 of the media so i thought all right let's get this into the media because if the transgender movement

00:06:31.760 can conquer a group that is literally based on genetics then uh the transgender women can do 1.00

00:06:38.960 whatever it pleases as it has been doing um but yeah okay you say it's a genealogical organization

00:06:45.200 uh what does that really mean i mean clearly they they have some sort of biological integrity that

00:06:52.280 that they supposedly or at least maybe historically have taken seriously so only i mean does this mean

00:07:00.260 only biological children biological descendants i guess are eligible for membership yes yeah it's it's a

00:07:08.600 it's a genealogical group you know no knock on anyone some of my family came here as immigrants

00:07:13.900 but those members of my family are not eligible to join because that's just not what the group is

00:07:18.640 we're adopted precisely you could people are adopted i've got adopted members of my family but it's

00:07:24.000 it's a group that takes genealogy seriously so uh you know uh adopted members men can show up to

00:07:33.540 plenty of events women can show up to plenty of other events but there are certain exclusions in 1.00

00:07:38.420 private member groups and so if you have a a group for women who are the genetic descendants of certain

00:07:45.120 people that's going to be exclusive and uh what's so absurd i mean there are many aspects that are

00:07:52.880 absurd about this but the leadership of the dar had been trying to gaslight the members and pretend as

00:07:59.980 though men had always been allowed into the group you know founded in 1890 all of the transvestites of

00:08:07.760 the late 19th century could join are you kidding me that the concept of transgenderism didn't even 0.94

00:08:13.120 exist at that time and so it it seems particularly absurd to say that an adopted member of a family is not

00:08:20.700 eligible to join because this whole group's about genetics but a big husky fellow with a beard wearing

00:08:26.320 i don't know a colonial dame's dress can show up to the tea party give me a break this is the same i mean 1.00

00:08:33.380 basically virtually the same exact scenario that we saw with even the national federation of republican

00:08:39.080 women uh again a group where if this has been allowed to to really infiltrate and make its way in 1.00

00:08:46.300 then then really no one is safe where leadership proposed that men could be voting members same

00:08:53.220 thing with uh the sorority at university of wyoming which wyoming of course is a pretty red uh typically

00:09:00.560 conservative state but nonetheless this kappa kappa gamma sorority they allowed a six foot two 260 pound 1.00

00:09:07.640 man uh to be showering in their showers living in the sorority house but they took the same approach 0.66

00:09:13.380 saying look you know this word woman it's it's always mean this you know it hasn't actually just 0.98

00:09:19.240 meant biological females no this means anyone who says that they are a woman i mean if university of

00:09:29.540 wyoming and the national federation of republican women and now uh daughters of the american revolution

00:09:36.640 have allowed this no one no one is protected and i think it's important you mention

00:09:41.220 exclusion uh we live in this time where i mean exclusion is just deemed this oppressive marginalizing bad

00:09:50.160 thing but but this group was created on the explicit grounds of being exclusive yes and exclusion is not

00:09:59.280 necessarily a bad thing i mean in this sense it's a great yes you know there there is order of of

00:10:06.760 charity so uh you know we're all children of god and we all have a care for a fellow man that's true

00:10:11.700 but we love different people in different ways i love my aunt bertha differently than i love my wife you

00:10:17.820 know i certainly would hope so uh i i have a marriage and my marriage is exclusive if i wanted to

00:10:24.680 expand my marriage and make it more inclusive if i suggested that to my wife i think she'd probably 0.87

00:10:29.860 slap me across the face rightly so uh bathrooms are exclusive you know girls don't go into the boys room 1.00

00:10:35.900 boys don't go into the girls room at least they're not supposed to private membership clubs can be 0.96

00:10:40.120 exclusive if if you have a club of uh descendants of the american revolution well you you might not

00:10:46.780 permit uh descendants of redcoats in there for instance no knock on our british friends it's just

00:10:52.080 not how the thing works uh and and this was one of the uh mealy-mouthed um tactics of the head of the

00:10:59.800 dar in this on the one hand the dar was telling its members we have to allow the transvestite people in

00:11:07.000 because of of uh anti-discrimination law but then out of the other side of their mouth they say look

00:11:12.560 we we actually we're a private organization we can do whatever we like we're we're immune from a lot of

00:11:17.460 the anti-discrimination law uh but we're going to do as we please and and you rank and file members

00:11:22.460 can't say anything about it so which is it i mean this is a live political battle as you point out

00:11:28.320 there are groups that are trying to sue sororities to to let men in uh so it's a live battle but i

00:11:34.640 don't know the american revolution was founded in no small part on freedom of association so it's no

00:11:40.200 surprise that the people who were trying to stamp that out would be specifically trying to stamp it

00:11:44.880 out in one of the oldest most patriotic groups in the country well you mentioned lawsuits and and

00:11:51.120 i guess the fear of of looming lawsuits i mean is is this why you think i mean are they do they

00:11:57.360 receive federal funding do you know i i don't think they do this is a it used to be a much more

00:12:03.100 prominent organization but all sorts of civic associations have fallen apart as our society

00:12:07.920 has has uh frayed and the the popular culture has has become degraded in recent decades so you know

00:12:15.400 this is a group of women who care about their country and they care about their families and their

00:12:20.800 lineage and they like to meet up and preserve some of their traditions and uh that's simply too much

00:12:26.720 for some political activists so they're going to uh try to invade they already have in fact i interviewed

00:12:33.160 one woman tracy shannon who's a a trans widow you know her her husband decided to masquerade as a

00:12:39.540 as a woman and blew up their whole family and did all sorts of disreputable things well apparently he has 0.97

00:12:46.900 joined the daughter daughters of the american revolution according to tracy you have to ask

00:12:51.320 yourself as the trans movement wants to present this this is just poor oppressed people who are

00:12:58.560 misunderstood who were born in the wrong body and they're they're so terribly put upon and they just 0.87

00:13:03.800 want to join this nice genealogical group and you know meet for tea and from us i i see a little bit

00:13:10.980 more of an aggressive political strategy here i think that this is less about expanding and building

00:13:17.600 a group than it is about destroying tradition and distinctions and clarity and and creating all sorts

00:13:25.460 of confusion and ambiguity you saw this with the boy scouts the boy scouts has decided to admit girls

00:13:32.840 from highly politicized environments well the problem with exclusion and inclusion and expansion and and all

00:13:40.500 the rest of it is if you expand the boy scouts to include girls you haven't really expanded anything

00:13:47.100 the boy scouts has just ceased to exist there's no longer there's no longer any such thing as the boy

00:13:53.380 scouts if you expand the daughters of the american revolution to include men then the consequence of

00:14:00.520 that is there just is no longer a daughters of the american revolution which i think is is really what

00:14:05.880 the activists are after again it goes back to women's sports were created to be exclusive and so when

00:14:15.800 you allow men into them women's sports is simply it is simply no more we saw a headline this week i think

00:14:22.760 it was the mayo clinic actually where they said the highest paid female ceo in america uh used to be a man 1.00

00:14:30.860 which you and i know he still is a man there is no use to anything um but yeah that that's that's the

00:14:39.840 uncertainty of it riley that that point is just on that point of martin rothblatt the it was i think the

00:14:47.900 person featured in that magazine uh and this is really a man martin rothblatt and martin rothblatt is not

00:14:54.020 only a transgender identifying person but he's a kind of a transhumanist his wife is this woman bina

00:15:01.840 and they've attempted to it sounds stranger than fiction but this is really happening they've attempted

00:15:07.040 to upload his wife's consciousness into a robot a bina 48 is what they call it um and uh i've had a

00:15:18.240 little firsthand experience with this robot the whole thing is a little bit bizarre but it means that the

00:15:23.760 consequence of this transgender movement is really a transhuman movement to to uh supersede the bonds 0.99

00:15:30.300 of of mere homo sapiens the leftist intellectual yuval harari wrote about this in a book called

00:15:35.380 homo deus this notion that we're we're going to cease to be homo sapiens we're going to become gods

00:15:40.160 we're going to we're going to totally remake man and it recalls something that c.s lewis points out in

00:15:45.020 his book the abolition of man which is that every time we think we're expanding we're being liberated

00:15:51.180 we're going past the our previous limits every time we conquer nature paradoxically

00:15:57.560 nature starts to conquer us so we we think we're expanding the daughters of the american revolution

00:16:03.340 we abolish the american revolution or the daughters of american revolution we think that we're expanding

00:16:08.340 what it means to be human well c.s lewis says the consequence of that will be the abolition of man

00:16:13.880 and we're actually seeing this play out in real time the activists are not being shy or coy about this

00:16:20.040 they are telling us what they're after and then they're actually taking steps to effect it

00:16:24.220 wow trans transhuman just when you think you've heard it all right you've heard of trans able that

00:16:33.580 i've seen that even i've seen trans age people who believe they are a different age than what they are

00:16:39.660 but but transhuman yeah that that's certifiably terrifying uh really uh have you seen any i guess 1.00

00:16:47.580 any women joining the sons of the american revolution i've never noticed that uh i haven't 0.87

00:16:55.280 haven't been around sar all that much uh my grandfather's no longer around uh to check in

00:17:02.040 with him but i suspect if my grandfather were still here and i said hey grandpa how many ladies tried to 1.00

00:17:07.460 show up to your sons of the american revolution meetings i think he would either look at me bemused

00:17:12.260 or laugh in my face because this this idea would have been totally unthinkable even five years ago

00:17:19.820 if it follows the trend right of sports for example no women aren't joining men's sports 0.95

00:17:26.640 or prisons no women aren't going into men's prisons yet in california over 1600 men have applied to be

00:17:36.000 women to get into women's prisons i believe there's i think actively right now 300 or so men

00:17:42.400 in women's prisons and only one female who got into a man's prison uh and of course she only had 1.00

00:17:48.340 three months left of her of her sentence we don't see women joining fraternities and so i think this

00:17:54.840 speaks to you know the differences you know we talk about again in the sports scenario the physical

00:18:01.760 differences between men and women they're very obvious uh much taller much stronger right feet

00:18:08.240 are bigger hands are bigger those kinds of things but i think this example of of what we are seeing in

00:18:14.440 the dar it speaks to the differences in in characteristics that are that men possess compared

00:18:22.260 to to women right men tend to be more dominant more assertive um that's what we're seeing in this case

00:18:30.940 it seems to be men entering in demanding the language by which women call them demanding to

00:18:37.660 have a seat at the same at the table but the same apologetic emotionally driven women aren't demanding 1.00

00:18:44.660 that same uh that same entrance into the men's division that's right and you're you're seeing uh kind

00:18:51.940 of typical traits of women where the women are polite about it they're not they don't want to be 1.00

00:18:58.080 needlessly aggressive or bellicose and but that is why it's important not just for the female members 1.00

00:19:05.960 of dar to stand up reach out you know tell tell their leadership they don't want this it's why it's

00:19:11.500 important not just for the leadership to demonstrate actual leadership here in political courage and say

00:19:16.400 no but it's why it's also important for men to call this out you know if you if you believe in

00:19:21.680 anything resembling uh natural sex and traditional roles for men and women then men need to stand up

00:19:27.600 here and tell these other fellas hey guys get out you have no business doing this you know there there

00:19:33.220 was a time when uh if a man saw another man entering a little girl's locker room to get changed

00:19:37.940 let's just say it would not have been tolerated and in our defeat and gelded age literally gelded age 0.53

00:19:44.820 we uh we we tolerate all sorts of abuses and injustice and it's it's time to have a little

00:19:50.020 bit of clarity and a little bit of the courage of our convictions to simply say no enough is enough

00:19:56.920 for sure so so what what can people do is there a a specific call to action for uh of course members

00:20:05.440 of the dar but but to everyday people is there something that we can do uh to kind of correct course

00:20:12.860 here yes there is for members of the the dar just reach out to your leadership there is a specific

00:20:19.080 email it the exact email address escapes me dar 33 something or other at gmail.com if you look at my

00:20:25.040 twitter thread at michael j knowles you can find out dar 33 club at gmail.com that's right dar 33 club

00:20:32.840 at gmail.com you can email also important just to to reach out to your local chapter leadership uh for

00:20:38.140 most people listening probably they are not active members of the daughters of the american revolution

00:20:42.660 so what can you do well you can take this lesson uh to recognize it doesn't matter where you are it

00:20:49.160 doesn't matter what organizations you are in it doesn't matter how protected you think you are from

00:20:54.000 this trans ideology it's coming for you it's coming for you in the middle of the country it's coming for 1.00

00:20:58.460 you in your local book club and your pta it's it's just it's showing up so you you need to have

00:21:04.840 clarity that this is not acceptable this is contrary to human flourishing this is not grounded in reality

00:21:10.420 and you've got to have the courage to say no to it you know that simple word is one that in our

00:21:15.220 very liberal age we we don't like to to say it we want to tell everyone yes and make everyone happy

00:21:20.680 but if you're if you're truly everything to everyone then you don't really stand for for anything at all

00:21:26.840 we we ought to meet people where they are we ought to speak their language but we do that in order to

00:21:31.300 communicate the truth uh don't expect someone else to fight this fight for you uh it's going to come

00:21:37.820 down to you at at a local level the political leadership is largely lost on this issue so it's

00:21:44.560 going to have to come from the ground up because we're going to have to defend the basic unit of

00:21:48.220 society here which of course is the family that's right and i totally agree uh i mean it doesn't really

00:21:55.740 matter actually if i agree or not it's true that no one is immune uh last last thing for you uh i have

00:22:03.060 just been so thrilled to see the reaction that the new daily wire film uh matt walsh's new film am i

00:22:13.060 racist uh the reaction that this is stirring on social media from both sides really we have seen

00:22:19.620 i mean gosh four or five of the kind of leftists who were involved the anti-racists in the film

00:22:27.460 uh deactivate their accounts one of those of course being robin d'angelo so good um what's your thoughts

00:22:35.120 on the film very briefly i encourage everyone to go watch it uh it's in theaters now it's it's really

00:22:41.680 perfectly and brilliantly done it's a magnificent work from my psychopath friend and colleague matt

00:22:48.280 walsh who stone-faced just stares these people down and it's not that he punks them exactly that's

00:22:56.100 what's being reported is that that he punked all these people and tricked them or something

00:23:00.240 he didn't he he led them to follow their own ideas to their logical conclusions so when robin d'angelo

00:23:09.800 hands 20 or 30 bucks to a black producer on the movie spoiler alert uh he matt didn't trick her into

00:23:18.500 doing that she he allowed her he gave her the opportunity to follow the ridiculous logic of her 0.78

00:23:25.800 own ideas of her own grift and she's raised enough money over recent years that she can afford 30 bucks

00:23:31.740 to a to a producer uh that's what's so charming when when in another scene which i really won't spoil

00:23:37.520 i found it to be the funniest scene in the movie he he he does set up his marks to do something cruel

00:23:44.640 and ugly and disgusting but they do it he is giving them the opportunity to show people what they are 0.81

00:23:51.740 and and what the consequences of their ideas are so i find it absolutely delightful some people are

00:23:57.360 going to say that what is a woman is better than this one because the trans issue is a livelier issue 0.98
