00:01:24.100 Welcome back to the Gains for Girls podcast.
00:01:27.200 We have had an exciting week, actually.
00:01:30.260 Monday's episode talked about all things pregnancy.
00:01:34.600 Wednesday, earlier this week, we had Senator Danes on,
00:01:38.140 and now we are having another senator on,
00:01:41.560 one of my favorite, actually.
00:01:43.120 My brother worked for this senator over, I think, last summer.
00:01:48.480 It's just a little intern, whatever he needed to do during his campaign.
00:01:53.200 And he confirmed to me what I already knew, truthfully.
00:01:58.160 I've spent an ample amount of time around this senator,
00:02:01.200 but my brother says, look, he's just the most down-to-earth, greatest guy.
00:02:06.060 If this gives you any hint who it is,
00:02:08.300 he had Harrison Butker going around with them that day.
00:02:11.720 My brother said it was the most amazing experience of his life.
00:02:16.280 We'll talk about that.
00:02:17.400 But before we do, I want to tell you, number one,
00:02:19.520 go to youtube.com slash outkick.

00:02:52.680 My husband was on Monday's episode with me.
00:02:55.480 He talked about it as well.
00:02:57.120 The most amazing bamboo sheets.
00:02:59.640 They are made from viscose from bamboo,
00:03:02.080 meaning that they regulate temperature.
00:03:04.240 They're guaranteed to give you a comfortable night's sleep.
00:03:08.020 They naturally wick away any sort of heat or moisture from your body,

00:03:14.620 which, of course, it's the middle of June,
00:03:17.500 almost end of June at this point.
00:03:19.100 Crazy how fast this month has passed by.

00:03:43.460 We were talking to Senator Hawley today.
00:03:46.840 As I think I say it in this episode, actually,
00:03:49.620 every time he is behind, you know, sitting in his chair
00:03:53.660 and you've got witnesses up there,
00:03:54.820 he has the most fantastic line of questioning.
00:03:58.660 Really, really great.
00:03:59.740 He always gets them on the spot to where,
00:04:02.120 of course, they don't know really what to say back.
00:04:05.220 He does it so, so well.
00:04:07.020 But he's not one just for the viral sound bites or the clips.
00:04:12.020 He's actually getting stuff done,
00:04:14.600 which is rare in Washington, D.C., by the way.
00:04:17.220 We're talking about his new legislation to protect kids from online porn.
00:04:22.820 We're talking about the L.A. riots, his involvement there.
00:04:25.140 We're talking about a pro-family economy under President Trump.
00:04:29.260 So check out all of that and more with Senator Hawley right here.
00:04:32.720 Well, Senator Hawley, thank you so much for joining the Gains for Girls podcast.
00:04:38.260 Just very excited for the opportunity to talk with you.
00:04:40.840 You have been someone who has, of course, been incredibly fierce
00:04:45.400 on the issues that I care about,
00:04:48.540 the platform that I now have, the issues that I have found myself fighting.
00:04:52.080 But across the board, really one of our greatest freedom fighters in Washington, D.C.
00:04:57.280 So very grateful for you.
00:04:59.540 Before we get into anything,
00:05:01.240 we had Senator Daines on the podcast earlier this week.
00:05:04.320 And I asked him, of course, about the big, beautiful bill.
00:05:08.040 From your perspective, where do things stand?
00:05:10.600 And how do you feel about it all?
00:05:13.120 Well, I think the most important things in the big, beautiful bill
00:05:15.600 are those big, beautiful tax cuts for working people and families.
00:05:19.520 You know, and congratulations on your news, by the way.
00:05:22.060 That's terrific.
00:05:22.820 And what we ought to do is what the president has said we should do,
00:05:25.480 which is give every working family in this country a tax cut.
00:05:29.300 And if you've got kids, you ought to get a tax cut.
00:05:32.400 If you're expecting kids, you ought to get a tax cut.
00:05:34.680 And one of the best things that the president has proposed to do in this bill
00:05:37.700 is to make the child tax cut even bigger for every working family in this country.
00:05:42.760 No taxes on tips, no taxes on overtime.
00:05:45.300 And this is stuff that will really help working people immediately, right away.
00:05:50.020 And for my money, that's the centerpiece of this bill.
00:05:52.520 I think it's the most important thing we can do in this legislation
00:05:55.480 is to really help working families get their feet under them.
00:05:59.360 Yeah, I don't know who could oppose that.
00:06:01.600 What's the next step in advancement for this bill?
00:06:05.580 Well, the Senate will hopefully vote on it here in the next week or two.
00:06:08.900 And then it's back to the House and then hopefully off to the president.
00:06:11.900 So, I mean, I hope this process will move really quickly.
00:06:15.400 I mean, my view is the president has done so much by executive order.
00:06:18.920 And of course, a lot of that in the areas that you care most about.
00:06:22.180 I mean, protecting women's sports, getting rid of this crazy gender ideology that's out there.
00:06:27.140 He has done tremendous work by executive order.
00:06:29.240 The Congress needs to come alongside now and actually legislate.
00:06:32.040 I mean, we need to make this stuff permanent.
00:06:33.540 We need to write it into law.
00:06:35.400 So my perspective is the quicker we move on this bill, the better.
00:06:39.140 There is a lot of work to do here.
00:06:40.700 Yeah, that's right.
00:06:41.900 Speaking of all the insane gender stuff that has really plagued this nation, you really
00:06:48.220 have been one of the best in terms of line of questioning when you have these people
00:06:52.000 in front of you, whether it's NCAA president Charlie Baker, whether it's the president of
00:06:57.400 the Human Rights Campaign, president of the National Women's Law Center.
00:07:00.420 You really just have such a way of this.
00:07:02.840 Unfortunately, we are seeing these blue states continue to double down on these regressive
00:07:08.920 and discriminatory and harmful policies, even, of course, including, I believe most insidiously,
00:07:16.240 allowing minors to undergo irreversible procedures without parental consent.
00:07:21.140 How dangerous is this?
00:07:22.320 Of course, you hear from people all the time.
00:07:24.380 And what can we do as citizens?
00:07:27.120 And what can you all do in your position to help push back against this?
00:07:30.200 It's extremely dangerous.
00:07:31.800 I mean, there's nothing that is worse, as you just said, than having a minor child have
00:07:37.360 their body completely altered, be sterilized for life.
00:07:41.200 In the state of Missouri, where I'm from, we have banned that.
00:07:43.920 We have banned all of these so-called gender transition surgeries and treatments for minors.
00:07:48.480 And I'd like to see that become a federal rule.
00:07:51.720 I mean, it just ought to be an across-the-board, nationwide rule that you cannot sterilize a
00:07:59.100 minor.
00:07:59.780 I mean, this is just wrong.
00:08:01.240 It's just morally wrong.
00:08:02.660 It's wrong in every sense of the word.
00:08:04.180 What can we do about the blue states who are defying the law?
00:08:07.500 I think that the administration is right to have the Department of Justice go after them.
00:08:11.220 I mean, why are they getting federal funding?
00:08:12.660 Why are they getting Title IX funding for women's sports if they are destroying women's sports by
00:08:17.880 putting biological men into women's locker rooms, into women's competitions?
00:08:22.200 So they ought to get all of their federal funding for their universities yanked.
00:08:25.520 They ought to get their Title IX funding revoked.
00:08:28.480 We ought to pass a law nationwide that says no gender transition surgeries for minors.
00:08:34.060 I'd say the other thing we ought to do, Riley, that would be big, and that is give every
00:08:37.200 victim of the gender transition racket, every victim who has been sterilized, who has been
00:08:42.740 drugged, give them the chance to sue the doctors of the companies who put them through those
00:08:48.980 procedures.
00:08:49.820 I mean, that would be a game changer.
00:08:51.300 That would put power directly into the hands of victims, into the hands of individuals.
00:08:56.000 If we did that nationally, I believe we would make a huge, huge dent in the gender transition
00:09:02.480 industry, which is making gobs of money by sterilizing our kids.
00:09:06.900 We need to put a stop to it.
00:09:07.980 Yeah, no doubt.
00:09:09.440 I've talked to, I mean, seriously, hundreds of what they call themselves detransitioners,
00:09:16.400 minors oftentimes who were coaxed, who were vulnerable in a vulnerable state and believed
00:09:22.620 the lies that they were told by their healthcare providers.
00:09:26.500 I prefer the term unregulated butchery providers, oftentimes removing, I mean, body parts, of course,
00:09:33.180 being administered and taking synthetic, unnatural hormones irreversibly, really, really tragic
00:09:40.460 stuff.
00:09:40.920 I believe an important part to this would be to increase the statute of limitations to,
00:09:45.720 I mean, oftentimes, again, especially when you're doing this at 15, 16 years old, you
00:09:49.480 don't realize the harm it has done.
00:09:52.680 People like Chloe Cole, who I know you know very well, she describes it as she did this at
00:09:57.720 15, 16 years old, she woke up one random morning and realized she did have a maternal instinct.
00:10:04.040 But at that point, there's no telling what this has done to her fertility.
00:10:07.280 Of course, having your breast removed, you know at that point you cannot breastfeed.
00:10:10.820 So increasing the statute of limitations, and I certainly agree, going after these healthcare
00:10:14.800 providers, insurance companies, anyone that is allowing for this, and I think especially
00:10:20.740 those who are attempting to silence those voices, I could not agree more.
00:10:26.520 And speaking of, you've just recently introduced crucial legislation, bipartisan, by the way,
00:10:32.500 to protect kids from online porn, but speaking of giving power back to the victims, I remember
00:10:39.300 this hearing just about two years ago, I believe, where Mark Zuckerberg sat in front of your
00:10:45.900 committee, again, you were questioning him, and you had asked him, you know, have you apologized?
00:10:52.960 And he's taken aback.
00:10:54.380 Of course, I don't think he was prepared to answer this question.
00:10:57.160 It wasn't scripted.
00:10:58.520 He didn't know what to say to this.
00:11:00.660 And he almost forcibly, you forced his hand, you held his feet to the fire, he stood up,
00:11:05.220 he saw the victims behind him, who have been exploited by Meta.
00:11:09.380 I think we've got a clip of it.
00:11:11.120 Let's refresh everyone's memory really quick.
00:11:13.240 You didn't take any action, you didn't take any action, you didn't fire anybody, you haven't
00:11:17.980 compensated a single victim.
00:11:19.220 Let me ask you this, let me ask you this.
00:11:20.620 There's families of victims here today.
00:11:22.380 Have you apologized to the victims?
00:11:25.840 Would you like to do so now?
00:11:27.620 They're here, you're on national television.
00:11:29.940 Would you like now to apologize to the victims who have been harmed by your product?
00:11:33.700 Show them the pictures.
00:11:35.520 Would you like to apologize for what you've done to these good people?
00:11:38.620 Remarkable, really, that he was in this position, forced, I believe, to do this.
00:11:53.940 I don't think he would have done it otherwise.
00:11:55.980 But are apologies enough, Senator Hawley?
00:11:58.780 No, they're not enough.
00:12:00.500 I mean, that was a significant moment.
00:12:02.440 I think it's the first time maybe ever in public, at least, that Mark Zuckerberg has
00:12:06.040 been forced to look into the eyes of parents whose lives and families he's ruined, to be
00:12:11.840 honest.
00:12:12.160 And not just ruined, he's made a gob of money.
00:12:13.980 I mean, billions of dollars he's made off of, in many instances, exploiting kids, exploiting
00:12:18.860 children, pushing this false gender ideology on his platform.
00:12:22.240 Facebook met a huge, huge villain in this story in terms of what they had pushed out to
00:12:27.340 young women in particular.
00:12:29.020 And it's not enough just to say, I'm sorry.
00:12:30.760 We need to give victims the right to hold companies like Meta accountable.
00:12:34.040 I mean, right now, as you know, if you're a victim, if you've got, there's deep fake
00:12:37.960 porn of you that someone has made with AI out there.
00:12:40.840 If you've been a victim of child porn and other ways, sexual exploitation, you can't
00:12:46.320 do anything about it.
00:12:47.380 If Meta is hosting that stuff and you go to them and you say, hey, this is fake or this
00:12:52.320 is me being exploited, please take it down.
00:12:54.300 And if they just say, no, we'd rather not, you're stuck.
00:12:57.220 And that happens over and over and over.
00:12:59.820 We need to give victims and parents the right to hold these companies accountable.
00:13:05.100 And the way you do that is you allow them to get into court and you allow them to sue
00:13:08.340 these people like Zuckerberg and you allow them to get compensated.
00:13:11.260 An apology is nice.
00:13:12.540 Compensation is better.
00:13:13.920 And the best thing of all is changed behavior.
00:13:16.760 And these companies won't change.
00:13:18.420 They won't stop pushing this gender ideology garbage.
00:13:22.240 They won't stop with the child sexual exploitation material on their platforms until they feel the
00:13:28.200 pain.
00:13:28.860 So we've got to give victims rights.
00:13:30.220 This past week, I went to Texas and I got to meet and spend some time with Elliston
00:13:37.680 Berry, who was really the inspiration for the Take It Down Act.
00:13:41.860 Met her family.
00:13:43.320 Just so sad.
00:13:45.240 Victim is a really good word to describe what her and her family, the situation that they
00:13:49.800 have faced and continue to face even since.
00:13:52.960 But as I said, you have recently introduced bipartisan legislation.
00:13:56.220 Can you talk about this?
00:13:57.980 And I think specifically how your home state of Missouri at the state level has been a leader
00:14:03.240 on this issue.
00:14:03.940 You guys have a fantastic attorney general who sues at every chance he can get, which I
00:14:09.140 think is, of course, the purpose of his job.
00:14:12.780 But he does a really great job.
00:14:13.940 And I believe is the gold star AG for all AGs to follow.
00:14:19.740 I agree with that 100%.
00:14:21.280 He's absolutely terrific.
00:14:22.620 And I'm really proud of our state and what we've done in terms of protecting kids, protecting
00:14:26.140 women's sports.
00:14:27.400 When it comes to child porn online, child sex abuse material, what my bill would do at the
00:14:32.520 national level is for the first time ever, it would create a right to sue if you're a
00:14:37.800 victim or if you're the parent of a victim.
00:14:40.700 So if you're somebody out there, and again, there's deep fake porn of you, or there's been
00:14:44.520 material made that is about sexual exploitation involving you, or that's happened to your kid,
00:14:49.860 you now can go and sue the companies that put this stuff on their platforms.
00:14:55.500 We're talking about Instagram.
00:14:57.260 We're talking about Google.
00:14:58.840 We're talking about Meta, of course, that owns Instagram, all of them, all of these social
00:15:03.100 media companies.
00:15:04.160 They won't be able to look the other way anymore.
00:15:06.420 What happens now is so many times, I've heard this, I can't tell you how many times, parents
00:15:10.420 and victims will go to them and they'll say, this stuff is on your platform.
00:15:14.560 Please take it down.
00:15:15.520 And they just don't do it.
00:15:16.420 They say, well, we're not sure.
00:15:18.100 We'll review it.
00:15:18.920 We'll get back to you later.
00:15:20.640 This legislation for the first time ever gives victims and parents the right to hold them
00:15:26.080 accountable.
00:15:26.980 It is way overdue.
00:15:28.320 And I believe it will be a huge game changer in protecting our kids and protecting young
00:15:33.620 women in particular and giving power back to individuals to control their own lives.
00:15:39.360 No doubt, obviously not near as severe, but I have approached Meta, reached out several
00:15:45.820 times about fake accounts that are being ran out of Bangladesh who are scamming people.
00:15:50.920 I mean, I have proof that these people running these accounts are taking money from people,
00:15:55.640 promising that they're me.
00:15:56.960 They have hundreds of thousands of followers, telling people they're in these really dire
00:16:00.400 situations.
00:16:01.380 And we can't escape if we don't have money.
00:16:03.560 This, this, and this.
00:16:04.360 Meta has done absolutely nothing about it.
00:16:07.680 So the idea of accountability is fantastic.
00:16:12.200 And again, I would imagine why there was bipartisan support there.
00:16:15.660 One other thing that you have done recently, of course, LA is back in the headlines this time
00:16:22.440 with the riots tied to ICE enforcement of violent, criminal, illegal immigrants.
00:16:28.340 But you have launched an investigation into who is funding these riots in LA.
00:16:33.820 Can you share any insight into speculations, what has already been proven, or even the
00:16:39.980 necessity for this?
00:16:41.520 Well, I think it's clear we've got to find out who's doing this.
00:16:43.680 I mean, these riots aren't spontaneous.
00:16:45.800 I mean, that's obvious.
00:16:46.680 I like to joke that they're about as organic as AstroTurf.
00:16:49.080 I mean, it's 100% fake.
00:16:50.580 It's 100% paid for.
00:16:52.160 It's 100% organized.
00:16:53.420 And we know it because you've got lefty groups online claiming it.
00:16:56.720 They're bragging about it.
00:16:57.660 They're saying, oh, yeah, this is great.
00:16:59.480 We're organizing these riots.
00:17:01.340 We're helping fund them.
00:17:02.460 We've all seen the videos of people pulling up and handing out riot gear and gas masks
00:17:07.120 and other material just before a car explodes.
00:17:09.720 You know, none of that is happenstance.
00:17:11.680 It's not an accident.
00:17:12.620 It's all planned.
00:17:14.020 So what I've said is we need to get to the bottom of who is behind this, who's funding
00:17:17.920 it.
00:17:18.100 These are bought and paid for flash mobs.
00:17:20.800 And I want to know who's doing the buying and the paying.
00:17:23.180 So we've launched a full-scale investigation in the Senate.
00:17:25.920 We'll work with the Department of Justice.
00:17:27.280 They recently, just in the last few days, launched their own investigation.
00:17:30.520 The president announced it, actually, which is terrific.
00:17:33.400 And I can tell you, we've already sent investigative demands to three different groups, front groups,
00:17:39.380 who have been out there on social media talking about their role in these riots.
00:17:43.560 And now, of course, they're trying to expand them.
00:17:45.100 And they've tried to expand them into Missouri.
00:17:46.920 They're trying to expand them into other states.
00:17:49.160 We need to nip this in the bud.
00:17:50.440 And the way you do it is figure out who's financing it.
00:17:52.720 And then when you can hold people accountable by prosecuting them, that'll be the Justice
00:17:57.520 Department's role.
00:17:58.440 And I hope that we can continue to work closely with justice.
00:18:01.540 And I can tell you any evidence that we have of crimes, we will absolutely refer to the Justice
00:18:07.060 Department for prosecution because we have got to shut down the criminal element here that's
00:18:12.380 trying to burn our cities to the ground, literally right in front of our eyes.
00:18:16.200 We have to put a stop to that.
00:18:17.520 No doubt it's what the American people voted for, overwhelmingly voted for, and not just
00:18:22.580 in the presidential election across the board in November of last year.
00:18:28.440 We voted for transparency, and that's what this is.
00:18:30.500 So thank you.
00:18:31.660 Last thing for you, I saw the photo over the weekend on X of you with your beautiful daughter
00:18:38.380 that you posted for Father's Day, where you say, of course, there's no greater joy than
00:18:42.840 being a dad.
00:18:43.720 My husband and I, as you alluded to, we are about to welcome a little girl into this world.
00:18:48.600 Can you talk about how the Trump administration is building a pro-family culture and economy?
00:18:55.600 Yeah, absolutely.
00:18:56.560 And congratulations again.
00:18:58.420 It's just there's nothing better in life or more significant than having children and
00:19:03.220 raising children.
00:19:04.000 And I said right around Father's Day to all the young men out there, you want to do something
00:19:08.060 with your life that's meaningful, man, go get married and have a family.
00:19:11.180 Raise a family, you know, raise kids with the love of your life.
00:19:16.840 You'll never regret it.
00:19:18.440 And it's just, to me, it's the most important thing.
00:19:20.600 I know it'll be the most important thing that I do with my life by far and the most meaningful
00:19:25.160 thing by far.
00:19:26.140 I think in terms of what we can do in policy and what the president's doing is we've got
00:19:29.900 to create an economy out there where if you are a young family, you can afford to have
00:19:34.580 kids.
00:19:35.220 You can afford to get health care, rather, for your kids.
00:19:38.740 And you can afford to raise them.
00:19:40.800 And we really, we need to get good jobs for people where they can support their family
00:19:44.680 on the wage that they earn, you know, where they don't need constant help from the government,
00:19:48.860 where they don't have to work multiple jobs, where you can support a family on a good wage.
00:19:52.740 So the things we were talking about earlier that the president has proposed are so key.
00:19:57.220 Those tax cuts for working people, no taxes on tips, no taxes on overtime.
00:20:01.400 You know, that really helps people who are working.
00:20:03.340 They're getting started in life, or maybe they're far along in life.
00:20:06.420 And they're like, man, I'm going to put in some overtime.
00:20:08.080 I've got a kid on the way.
00:20:09.600 That's a huge help to them.
00:20:11.340 Increasing the child tax cut is a big deal.
00:20:14.200 I mean, we ought to give every family in America a big tax cut for every kid who they
00:20:19.280 have and are raising.
00:20:20.400 It is so expensive today to have a kid and raise a kid.
00:20:24.780 And Joe Biden made it so much worse.
00:20:27.280 I mean, nobody could afford anything the last four years.
00:20:29.460 Can't afford gas, groceries, can't afford your rent.
00:20:33.420 We've got to give every working family, especially families with children, tax cuts.
00:20:38.220 And I believe that a per child tax cut is one of the best ways to do this.
00:20:42.400 You know, so if you've got one kid, great.
00:20:44.940 You're going to get a tax cut.
00:20:45.920 If you've got three kids, you're going to get three times that tax cut.
00:20:49.120 You need it if you're a working family.
00:20:51.080 So I think as we reward families, as we reward marriage, as we reward people who are having
00:20:56.700 families, it just gives people more and more control over their lives.
00:21:00.340 It encourages families.
00:21:02.520 It gives people the wherewithal to have families and raise them the way they want to.
00:21:06.580 And that has got to be for those of us who are pro-family, that has got to be the centerpiece
00:21:10.940 of what we're trying to do with policy in Washington, D.C.
00:21:14.340 Boom.
00:21:15.040 And again, I just don't know who could oppose that.
00:21:18.680 We appreciate you, Senator Hawley.
