00:04:52.480 had a lot of growing up to do to really appreciate one another and be ready for one another. So

00:05:54.080 other. And so, you know, he just went over during his like lunch one day and set up a meeting with
00:05:59.620 my dad. And I think my dad knew that he was asking for my hand in marriage and was obviously very
00:06:05.220 excited to say yes and, and gang Derek as another son and a part of the family. Um, but yeah, he
00:06:11.400 definitely asked for permission. What's like the thing you're most looking forward to about marriage?
00:06:19.340 It's like you're in this new chapter of life now, of course, when you get engaged, but when you're
00:06:24.340 able to like officially move in with each other and begin to think about, you know, long-term
00:06:29.340 future and having kids, and if that's in the cards for you guys, I guess what's the thing you look
00:06:34.740 forward to most in that? Well, I don't know if you relate to this at all, but it's almost like
00:06:38.960 when God brings you your right partner, it allows you to become the truest version of who you are.

00:06:50.580 ultimate picture of sanctification and it does require sacrifice and teamwork. And I think,

00:08:33.740 Louie, um, is watching him be the best dad to our little girl. Um, despite the fact he's like
00:08:40.000 six foot four, he's got this rocking beard. Like he's, he's very physically attractive.

00:08:51.340 heart, how I have more patience for him. He has more patience and grace with me because of our
00:08:56.200 daughter, it's been just the most magical thing. I think obviously becoming a mom, but even in
00:09:02.400 us being spouses. So that's, that's really cool to hear. You mentioned being an athlete. You've
00:09:10.720 talked about it before how soccer was kind of like your first love, but you had multiple
00:09:15.440 concussions, right? That kind of forced this hard pivot for you. Talk about your time as an athlete
00:09:21.420 and what that change looked like. I'm so grateful for my roots in sports. Sports teach women and
00:09:29.340 people in general, invaluable lessons, how to work together towards a common goal, 0.64
00:09:34.100 dedication, finishing what you start. I mean, the list goes on, you know, that you, you know,
00:09:39.080 you're competitive, you're an athlete. And then it was very hard as someone who really thought
00:09:44.220 I'd be me ham someday, right? My dad believed in me and was coaching me. And that's, that was the
00:09:50.000 dream for me to go into something else. Um, but I think life's about pivoting. And I also think
00:09:56.920 God does this incredible thing where he puts you in a, in a seasonal life and you can grow and grow
00:10:02.900 and grow. And then at some point you're going to learn what he wants you to learn from that.

00:12:25.460 bulky and big. Well, you're not. That's not true. That's not how it works. And so for me,
00:12:31.720 I think the biggest shift for me has actually been in the last three years
00:12:35.260 where I've loved lifting heavy. I've loved really focusing on strength and less cardio.
00:12:43.220 In the marathon era, you're doing tons of miles and it's difficult to sustain muscle
00:12:48.920 even with weightlifting. And so I do much less running now, maybe a trail run a few times a week
00:12:55.120 or shorter mileage once or twice a week. But weightlifting is really the core upon which my
00:13:01.700 fitness routine is based because when you have enough muscle, you can sustain a healthy diet
00:13:07.280 with lots of variety. You don't have to count calories. You don't have to count macros.
00:13:12.500 I have a nutrition accreditation. And so obviously I am aware of what is in the foods that I'm
00:13:17.860 eating, but I don't count or track things religiously. I just have a good understanding
00:13:23.460 of, is this food clean? If I was a farmer, could I grow this or make this? And that's a good litmus
00:13:30.060 test for foods that I always ask myself is if I don't know how to make it, I maybe shouldn't eat
00:13:37.260 it. And so I think if you lift weights consistently, you'll have good posture, you'll have good
00:13:43.200 counterbalanced muscle groups, and then incorporate some HIIT, have one longer day of cardio. That's
00:13:49.780 something you enjoy, whether it's swimming or walking or hiking or jump roping, whatever it is
00:13:56.160 that brings you happiness, that's what's going to be sustainable. And so that's, you know,
00:14:00.660 something that I always tell people is find something that you love and can do for life,
00:14:04.280 because fitness isn't about reaching a certain aesthetic and calling it a day. It's about
00:14:10.620 pursuing a life where you can be your best for everyone else around you. And that's my motivation.

00:14:23.180 to your point. Um, I've always said that the best cardio exercise you can do is a heavy back squat

00:14:33.420 sometimes get to like 160, 170 just from lifting heavy. So I think that's incredible advice.

00:16:54.600 kid. What was it like being on the sidelines? You mentioned both of your parents and kind of that
00:17:00.540 football Super Bowl legacy that they have. Just give a little insight on that and what it was
00:17:06.200 like from a young age to be surrounded by that, because that's totally foreign, obviously, to
00:17:11.260 most people. I mean, at what point did you realize like, oh my gosh, this is pretty, this is pretty
00:17:17.200 cool. I give so many kudos to my parents because they did an incredible job of raising all three
00:17:26.060 us with humility. And I, you know, as someone who's now starting to think about how I'm going
00:17:30.840 to raise my own family in a more public life and instill those values of like hard work and
00:17:38.740 discipline, they did an amazing job. So I'm going to need to sit down and really pick their brains
00:17:43.480 on that. But I wasn't, I was older when I realized, wow, this is what is what it is. And I think that
00:17:52.520 is also why I was able to have a really normal childhood and just, um, be grounded. And it's
00:17:58.980 beautiful that, um, my family gets to be a part of something so amazing and that that is part of
00:18:04.280 our legacy. Um, but I also think, you know, and I also was like, you know, I grew up realizing,
00:18:10.960 okay, you cheer for this team, you cheer for these colors. These are the good guys. And these are the
00:18:15.200 bad guys. My little sister, um, you know, would classify the team she was supposed to cheer for
00:18:20.480 as the good guys and the bad guys, which is superheroes and the villains, the heroes and
00:18:25.260 the villains. Um, we knew what color we were on Sundays. Um, I also think my parents did a really
00:18:31.180 good job of rooting faith into a really busy weekend routine. Uh, the chiefs have a faith
00:18:37.820 and family chapel before every single noon game at Arrowhead where fans and whoever can come and
00:18:44.640 participate in a church service, which is difficult to do with a noon kickoff. And I think it was
00:18:50.060 beautiful to watch my parents sort of weave faith, family, and football together my whole life. So
00:18:55.900 Sundays are definitely have a fun but different routine to them and our family. But I'm really
00:19:02.020 grateful for it. And I'm grateful for the values they've instilled in me along the way.

00:19:19.420 game day Bible verses, whatever it may be. What does boldness in your faith look like in today's
00:19:27.020 age for you? I think we see it in so many beautiful ways. Whether you're watching Sophie Cunningham
00:19:34.400 live boldly, whether you're watching World Cup players come together and pray on the field before
00:19:39.760 and after matches, you see the same thing in the NFL ahead of matches for many teams. And I think
00:19:46.300 it's just incorporating faith into your life in a really authentic way. Like, and it's also having
00:19:51.300 the humility to know I really wouldn't be anything without Jesus. And so when you have that mentality,
00:19:58.500 it's just really easy to glorify him. Because I think when you realize I couldn't achieve any of
00:20:06.340 this on my own and that he's given me every good gift I've ever had, that mentality just makes
00:20:13.140 praise such an easy part of life. How intentional are you and Derek being about like,
00:20:20.180 you know, Christ centered marriage? Are there steps that you're taking prior to
00:20:24.580 marriage? And I ask this because again, a lot of young women and girls watch this and they're
00:20:31.460 desperate and they're looking for that person that they can enter that next phase of life with.
00:20:36.360 And I think they want to hear from Christ centered women about how their marriage and for you,
00:20:42.740 your soon-to-be marriage, how it functions. And so are you guys taking any steps prior to marriage
00:20:47.140 to be intentional in that way, if that makes sense? Absolutely. It's the foundation of our
00:20:54.520 relationship. And that's what I want our future children to grow up witnessing and modeling their
00:20:59.760 own lives after. We did marriage counseling before we ever got engaged. I just think it's a really
00:21:06.180 good way to know if you are ready for marriage. And it also takes the pressure off because I think
00:21:12.140 once you become engaged in today's day and age, it's difficult to do that afterwards because
00:21:19.040 it's public and everyone knows that. And so I actually think it's a really healthy thing to do
00:21:24.520 when you are deciding, okay, is this my person? And so if you're someone who's thinking about
00:21:29.720 getting engaged, I would encourage doing that. We did our marriage counseling through Focus on
00:21:33.460 the Family and they are amazing. And then since then, we're really involved in our church and in
00:21:38.840 Bible study, and we're working with some pastors and doing some premarital counseling, some extra
00:21:45.800 premarital counseling, just to make sure that we're really poured into and solid during this
00:21:51.340 time of life. Because I also think, and this is a little bit of a hot take, once you become engaged,
00:21:58.180 I think that Satan hates seeing Christian people marry Christian people. And I think that it's a 0.79
00:22:05.720 very vulnerable time in a relationship. There's a lot more pressure. You're trying to plan a
00:22:12.740 wedding. There's a lot more going on in life. And I think that you just have to constantly pray over
00:22:17.580 your relationship and for protection and that the Lord would sustain you both and bring you closer
00:22:24.260 to each other and to him. That's a daily prayer. Derek and I pray together. And so I do think you
00:22:29.920 have to be really intentional about growing closer to him and protecting the relationship
00:22:34.900 once you're engaged. I love that you say pray together even because that's something that
00:22:40.500 Louis and I have implemented. And it's been super cool because you get to develop individually as
00:22:45.960 as a believer and as a Christian, but to have an account, an accountability partner and someone
00:22:51.940 that you can grow together with, you walk in tandem, step by step together, um, is really
00:22:58.780 special. And, and just every night for us, it's praying for our daughter, um, and even praying
00:23:03.580 over her future marriage. Obviously she's 10 months old now. It might sound weird to some to
00:23:08.600 pray for her future husband now, but, um, those are all things that, that we do too. So that's,
00:23:13.420 that's really beautiful. I've, um, I've got to ask you, which I saw online, they made people sign
00:23:19.260 NDAs. So if you can't say anything, blink twice, but Taylor Swift's wedding, did you go, are you
00:23:26.860 allowed to say if you went to it? I did attend. Yes. Okay. Okay. I won't ask you too much, but
00:23:33.680 first and foremost, like, was it the coolest thing ever? And secondly, did you see some things there
00:23:38.780 that you want to incorporate into your wedding? That's so, I have been asked that quite a few
00:23:44.880 times actually. And I think that theirs was so beautiful. It was so unique. And there, there
00:23:51.580 might be one or two things that I thought were really sweet and thoughtful. Um, but I just think
00:23:57.180 like they're in such different venues, there's not going to be much overlap that said it was so
00:24:03.180 beautiful to watch them marry each other. I feel like they are a perfect match in every sense for
00:24:10.060 each other. And, um, and yeah, it was just, it was really magical to get to watch two people,
00:24:15.760 you know, say yes to forever. So how has like the Chiefs fan base changed since Travis and Taylor
00:24:26.480 have gotten together? I would imagine you have a lot more like young girls at the game now.
00:24:31.920 So many young girls. I see young girls with friendship bracelets. And as someone who
00:24:38.740 has been championing women and women in sports and women in the NFL for over a decade now.

00:24:58.440 part of my life is bonding with my father watching sporting events.
