Summary

In this episode, I discuss the cancellation of a speech I gave on campus at Penn State University regarding the rape and torture of women and girls in the Middle East. I also discuss the lack of women being honored during Women's History Month, and why we need to get back to the basics.

00:00:30.000 Welcome back to the Gains for Girls podcast.
00:00:36.420 This week we have a special episode.
00:00:38.540 There will be no guests or anything like that.
00:00:40.280 I just want to come on here and talk about the incident at Penn State University this week
00:00:45.300 in regards to the event that I had scheduled to speak on their college campus
00:00:49.920 with a turning point chapter to which ultimately the university canceled.
00:00:55.400 There's a lot of misconception and confusion going around there.
00:00:58.540 So we'll get into it, but I would be remiss if I did not start this episode
00:01:03.360 by taking the time to say that I am praying, and really we should all be praying,
00:01:08.000 for the victims in the Middle East, especially the girls and the women and the children
00:01:13.660 who are squarely in harm's way because of the violence that has broken out
00:01:18.360 and everything that it has led to.
00:01:20.800 I don't care what your politics are,
00:01:23.300 but if you are hesitant to condemn the kidnapping and the rape and the torture,
00:01:28.840 and again, the senseless violence against innocent civilians,
00:01:33.820 then you are the problem.
00:01:35.700 And really, I think it's perverse and you're a sellout.
00:01:38.980 But anyways, let's get into this event.
00:01:42.120 So a few months back, back in March, during Women's History Month,
00:01:46.540 which I will be the first to say, these months and days of visibility
00:01:51.500 and all of those stupid things, they're pointless.
00:01:55.040 And I think they're more divisive and harmful than good.
00:01:58.560 But anyways, during Women's History Month, I noticed a common theme.
00:02:03.300 In places where we were supposed to be honoring trailblazing women,
00:02:07.420 we were honoring men.
00:02:08.560 And we saw this time and time and time.
00:02:12.340 Again, we had Alba Ruda, who was the International Women of Courage Award.
00:02:16.860 We had Mr. Rachel Levine, an openly transgender Biden appointee.
00:02:21.660 He's the Assistant Secretary of Health for the U.S.
00:02:25.420 He was USA Today's Woman of the Year.
00:02:28.380 We had Faye Johnston in the Hershey's campaign.
00:02:32.800 He was Hershey's International Women's Day honoree.
00:02:35.940 And of course, ESPN, which should not be surprising to literally anyone
00:02:40.900 considering ESPN is owned by Disney.
00:02:43.760 We saw ESPN have a whole segment honoring Leah Thomas
00:02:46.760 as this brave woman who has overcome adversity
00:02:52.300 to achieve triumph and all of this different nonsense.
00:02:57.520 Here's a clip for a little bit of refresher.
00:02:59.700 In 2022, swimmer Leah Thomas became the first transgender athlete
00:03:06.760 to win an NCAA Division I championship by winning the 500 freestyle.
00:03:12.100 The Texas native competed for three seasons on the men's swim team
00:03:15.620 at the University of Pennsylvania.
00:03:17.860 She began her transition after her sophomore season
00:03:20.560 and after a gap year due to the pandemic that forced the Ivy League
00:03:24.440 to cancel all scores.
00:03:25.940 Promise made her debut as a member of the women's team in December 2021.
00:03:32.100 Being trans is not a choice.
00:03:34.640 I didn't have any other choice because not transitioning was not leading me anywhere.
00:03:41.560 She competed amidst criticism from the swimming community, competitors, and teammates.
00:03:46.840 She said she hopes her persistence serves a larger purpose.
00:03:50.320 People will say, oh, she just transitioned so she would have an advantage so she could win.
00:03:56.180 I transitioned to be happy.
00:03:58.480 This was especially disheartening for me to hear.
00:04:02.040 Of course, I mean, it's utter lunacy to say that this person was a trailblazer for women's sports,
00:04:08.560 women's swimming.
00:04:09.260 I mean, that's utter lunacy considering how bad he was when swimming against the men.
00:04:14.220 Ranked 462nd the year prior to again now dominating, winning national titles above Olympians,
00:04:19.960 American record holders by body links, which is a very large margin in swimming.
00:04:23.620 So if I was a woman working at ESPN or any of the companies or organizations who adhered to this
00:04:30.340 nonsense, I would walk out.
00:04:32.800 I would leave in the blink of an eye because they're openly mocking women.
00:04:37.060 But anyways, I saw this trend continue and continue.
00:04:41.560 This is something that the feminists of the last few decades would have never seen coming,
00:04:46.920 or maybe they did considering they seem to be the ones who are pushing for it.
00:04:50.700 So fourth wave feminism, the most ironic and contradictory wave of them all, where men
00:04:57.020 make the best women.
00:04:58.540 I mean, you literally can't make this up.
00:05:00.420 But after I can continue to see this, I was thinking to myself, how can we get back to honoring
00:05:06.300 real women in places where we are supposed to be honoring women?
00:05:12.080 And after some brainstorming, some different things I thought to myself,
00:05:15.060 why don't we just take it back to the basics?
00:05:19.320 XX.
00:05:20.760 I thought of October 10th.
00:05:22.600 Okay.
00:05:22.880 It's the 10th day of the 10th month, which in Roman numerals is XX, which is the female
00:05:29.260 chromosomes.
00:05:29.880 And if you took fifth grade science, then you know this.
00:05:34.040 And so I had all these great ideas, different things I could plan around this day.
00:05:38.080 Um, the first thought I wanted to, of course, get on a college campus, um, talk to young
00:05:44.680 students about this, uh, something that we did that was pretty special through the Riley
00:05:49.000 Gaines center.
00:05:49.920 Um, we sent out four other athletes to speak on college campuses, Paula Scanlon, who was
00:05:54.900 one of Will Thomas, Leah Thomas's teammates at university of Pennsylvania.
00:05:58.780 Um, Caitlin Wheeler, who her young sister was banned from the YMCA for complaining about
00:06:06.180 a male undressing in their locker room, um, after her swim team's practice, uh, Selena
00:06:12.460 Soule, who is one of the Connecticut runners involved in litigation, hopefully that will make
00:06:17.200 it to the Supreme court.
00:06:18.220 Um, and Olivia Krolchek, who is a young girl from university of Cincinnati who received a zero
00:06:22.520 on her assignment for using the term biological woman.
00:06:25.600 As of course, this word reinforces cis heteronormativity.
00:06:29.600 I mean, I've never heard of that.
00:06:32.320 I've never heard of that word before, cis heteronormativity.
00:06:36.100 Um, so they all went out on college campuses and spoke.
00:06:38.800 One other thing I did this day was I sent out 50 activism kits, uh, to 50 different college
00:06:43.880 campuses, uh, and what these activism kits looked like.
00:06:47.360 We had a big net, a baseball net, and we had a radar gun.
00:06:50.900 And so men and women would throw the baseball into the net.
00:06:53.960 And, and, and of course the objective was to see who could throw it faster.
00:06:57.420 Um, on average, you know, men or women and surprise on all 50 campuses, men threw it faster
00:07:05.500 than women, which is a more interactive way to prove the point that I've been saying for
00:07:09.900 constantly the past year and a half, that when it comes to something that requires sheer
00:07:13.960 strength or athleticism, men are naturally more advantaged again, on average.
00:07:18.540 Um, so the turning point chapter at Penn state had reached out to me way back in August,
00:07:24.160 and we had decided that on October 10th, I would be speaking there.
00:07:28.140 The students on August 27th reached out to the appropriate members to secure the date
00:07:34.360 and a venue on campus.
00:07:36.680 Uh, the venue responded back and said, you know, this is great, but we have to have all
00:07:42.780 of this in place 30 days prior.
00:07:44.660 This was 34 days, business days prior to the event.
00:07:48.240 Um, but in those four days, the university was unwilling to meet with the students, meaning
00:07:52.840 they missed the deadline to successfully secure the event and the venue and all those different
00:07:58.800 things.
00:07:59.040 And so after that reached out to a local Hyatt, um, close to Penn state's campus where we would
00:08:04.520 just do the event, um, at a hotel.
00:08:07.000 The Hyatt came back, they confirmed, we put the deposit down, all of this.
00:08:10.360 Uh, then they found out who the speaker was me.
00:08:13.780 And so the Hyatt came back and ultimately canceled the event.
00:08:16.920 So we went back to the university.
00:08:19.680 Um, this time we were applying under leadership Institute, which is a non-campus affiliated
00:08:23.860 group, meaning they don't have to adhere to the same policies that the campus affiliated
00:08:28.400 groups do.
00:08:29.020 Meaning the 30 days didn't mean anything here.
00:08:30.860 Um, got the room secured again, put the deposit down, have the confirmation, all of those different
00:08:36.880 things.
00:08:37.320 Once the university again, found out who was speaking, they came back and said, sorry, uh,
00:08:44.160 now we have staffing problems and there's competing events and risk management.
00:08:49.180 Uh, we have to cancel.
00:08:50.860 So they canceled, um, ended up still going to the campus, uh, and had a free speech rally
00:08:58.500 just on the hub lawn, which is a public space of land.
00:09:01.000 Um, anyone could attend, uh, which was pretty cool, you know, to, to be a part of that.
00:09:06.780 It was different than what I'm used to.
00:09:08.180 Um, of course, normally I'm used to talking about women's sports and why having men infiltrate
00:09:13.380 into our sports and in our locker rooms, taking our opportunities is harmful to women.
00:09:16.980 But this gave me an opportunity to talk about the freedom of speech and why it's important.
00:09:21.700 Um, so before the speech even started, uh, I got a message from a student at Penn State
00:09:28.420 who sent me a screenshot of an email her teacher had sent to the entire class.
00:09:34.020 And so let me read it to you because I just think it's comical.
00:09:36.400 And I think it's truly indicative of why people are scared.
00:09:39.400 Okay.
00:09:40.300 Why there's so much external pressure, because I hear all the time, you know, why are people
00:09:44.680 so scared to say the truth to speak common sense, typically from older people who don't
00:09:50.100 necessarily understand the direction that colleges are going in now.
00:09:54.020 Um, this is why, let me read it to you.
00:09:56.780 It says, um, hello, all there are a number of scheduled and rumored events taking place
00:10:01.760 at Penn State today.
00:10:02.560 And over the next few days, I recognize student organization, Turning Point USA at Penn State
00:10:07.740 University is holding a free speech event scheduled for the Hub Lawn at four.
00:10:12.060 The student group confirmed this morning that Riley Gaines is attending.
00:10:15.480 A quick wiki search indicates that Turning Point is a conservative organization that is
00:10:19.420 active on many campuses.
00:10:21.220 And Riley Gaines is a former athlete who is anti-trans.
00:10:24.740 Then the email goes on to say, also on this day, Dignity Day is planned as a university and
00:10:31.320 community-wide celebration of dignity.
00:10:33.720 This seems like a good way to counter the hateful messages espoused by miscarriage.
00:10:37.740 Gaines, while not providing more attention and exposure to such message.
00:10:41.960 The coming out day celebration sponsored by the Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity
00:10:46.460 will also behold tomorrow.
00:10:49.080 I hope to see you all shortly.
00:10:52.040 That is why people are scared.
00:10:54.400 This is a professor.
00:10:56.020 Someone who is supposed to be teaching the next generation.
00:11:00.480 Calling me anti-trans.
00:11:02.880 And for what?
00:11:04.020 For saying men are men, women are women, and you can't change what you were born as.
00:11:09.260 Saying that's a hateful message.
00:11:12.220 People are scared to show their face.
00:11:14.440 They're scared to even attend these events.
00:11:17.500 That's why the silent majority, that's why we're in the position that we're in.
00:11:22.580 And the loud minority seems to be, we seem to be catering to this group.
00:11:27.960 That right there is exactly why.
00:11:31.000 So that email was sent out before the event.
00:11:33.820 Also, two arrests were made for disorderly conduct.
00:11:39.120 We had two protesters, of course, and masks, which I just think is hilarious.
00:11:44.580 All of the masking and different things, I don't even think it's because of COVID anymore.
00:11:49.820 I think it's because these people are ashamed to show their face.
00:11:53.240 And truthfully, rightfully so.
00:11:55.280 I would be ashamed to show my face if I was in college, you know, 20, 21, 22 years old,
00:12:01.800 acting the way that they act.
00:12:03.940 You know, cursing, obscenities, all these different things.
00:12:06.300 But these two protesters flipping tables, knocking stuff over, pushing reporters, different things.
00:12:13.300 And so two arrests were made, which I want to say I'm so grateful for the police and how
00:12:20.260 effective they acted, how quickly and immediately they acted, and really just doing their job.
00:12:27.780 That's not the same action that I've seen be taken by police at other universities.
00:12:33.160 And so very grateful for them.
00:12:34.760 And I thought they did a phenomenal job.
00:12:37.700 Get to the event.
00:12:38.740 But we have these trans rights activists, which, let me just say, I don't even think
00:12:43.420 they should be called trans rights activists anymore.
00:12:45.660 I think they should be deemed men's rights activists.
00:12:49.220 Again, all wearing masks, chanting things such as Trans Lives Matter, calling me a fascist,
00:12:55.860 a domestic terrorist.
00:12:57.580 The most comical.
00:12:59.400 I mean, this is like Keith Olbermann level, saying can't swim over and over and over and
00:13:05.420 over and over again.
00:13:06.300 Can't swim, can't swim, can't swim.
00:13:09.600 Meanwhile, these people chanting this at me have never played a sport in their entire
00:13:13.960 life, have no idea what it takes to be an elite athlete.
00:13:18.360 And of course, have no idea the things that I had accomplished in my sport.
00:13:23.100 And look, by no means am I saying I'm the best swimmer on the planet.
00:13:25.880 Of course not.
00:13:26.480 But I would challenge any of them, even the men, to a race.
00:13:31.500 And I'm pretty sure I could predict the outcome, which that might just prove my point that men
00:13:36.640 are inherently more advantageous than women.
00:13:41.420 I think I could take, of course, all of those protesters.
00:13:43.820 I don't even know if they can float.
00:13:46.420 Besides the point, I was able to deliver a speech just using a megaphone.
00:13:52.380 I was able to drown out the protesters and different things.
00:13:56.660 There were a ton of people there in support.
00:13:58.280 There was elected officials.
00:13:59.820 There were student athletes who were there, which was really cool for me to see.
00:14:03.740 I even opened it up for questions after I delivered a 20-minute talk or so.
00:14:08.100 The only questions I got were from supporters, which I just think, again, is ironic.
00:14:15.520 I gave the opportunity to the protesters to ask a question.
00:14:18.820 I would have loved to answer their question, to have cleared up any confusion or anything
00:14:23.780 surrounding the topic.
00:14:26.120 Gave them the opportunity.
00:14:27.240 They weren't even willing to ask a question, which shows you.
00:14:31.260 I don't even know if they know what they're protesting.
00:14:33.900 Of course, we found out some of the activists were paid to be there to protest.
00:14:39.520 You have men in dresses and women with beards.
00:14:42.860 I mean, it's the most bizarre thing to look out into a sea of people and see.
00:14:48.100 But I guess my question is, what are they so scared of?
00:14:55.360 What are these protesters, these professors?
00:14:58.020 I mean, we saw the video that the president of Penn State released.
00:15:03.900 She actually released this video back in September.
00:15:06.920 President Neeli Bindapudi.
00:15:09.680 And in this video, she's essentially explaining a nap to a kindergartner,
00:15:13.400 talking about, you know, the freedom of speech and why, unfortunately,
00:15:19.260 it's necessary to implement, even for bigots like myself, which she had said,
00:15:25.120 what are they so scared of?
00:15:28.760 The truth?
00:15:30.340 Science?
00:15:31.500 Common sense?
00:15:32.960 Logic?
00:15:33.880 Reasoning?
00:15:34.940 Why don't they want you hearing the simple message that men and women are different?
00:15:40.700 Of course, we're created equal.
00:15:43.400 But we're not the same.
00:15:45.900 We complement each other, man and woman, in a beautiful way.
00:15:50.020 But we are not the same beings.
00:15:51.800 We are very different.
00:15:52.820 It's innate.
00:15:53.820 Down to our bones, we are different.
00:15:56.460 And they don't want you hearing that.
00:15:58.960 And that should be eye-opening to so many.
00:16:02.300 And it makes me frustrated.
00:16:03.800 It makes me confused.
00:16:05.220 It makes me worried, really, that we don't have people acknowledging that what's happening here
00:16:13.660 is very Orwellian.
00:16:16.140 It's as if our authority figures and policies and guidelines and people leading this country
00:16:22.160 are trying to make us say two plus two is five.
00:16:25.600 And we are adhering.
00:16:27.760 We have so many people falling for it.
00:16:31.260 We're denying the essence of humanity, man and woman.
00:16:34.520 And of course, a lot, a lot more than just that in terms of cultural issues plaguing this country.
00:16:40.500 And it's a lot bigger than just denying man and woman.
00:16:44.900 We should all be asking ourselves the question of what's next?
00:16:48.180 Where will we be as a country in five to ten years if we allow this to continue like we have?
00:16:55.340 And truthfully, I don't know the answer to that.
00:16:57.760 I don't know how we can deny a more basic truth.
00:17:01.200 But it's something we should all be asking ourselves.
00:17:03.060 The freedom of speech, it's necessary.
00:17:08.740 It's crucial.
00:17:09.400 Our founding fathers predicted that we would be here in this day and age going through what
00:17:15.400 we're going through.
00:17:16.640 And they, of course, created the Constitution to prevent this from happening, to prevent
00:17:21.580 unelected bureaucrats and officials from taking away our freedoms like we're seeing today.
00:17:26.820 But I think the real victims of the lack of freedom of speech are the ones
00:17:32.940 being denied it, the ones who aren't able to hear the truth, like those students, those
00:17:40.260 people protesting me yesterday.
00:17:42.760 I feel bad for them, truthfully.
00:17:46.440 I pray for them because I think the deceived are more dangerous and evil than the deceivers
00:17:54.280 because the deceived, they don't know right from wrong.
00:17:59.500 Whereas the deceivers, the people who are actively deceiving us, they do and they're choosing
00:18:03.960 to not tell us what is right, to not tell us what is true, not tell us what is fair, not
00:18:08.560 tell us what is just.
00:18:10.060 They're manipulating us.
00:18:11.440 They're lying to us.
00:18:12.460 They're emotionally blackmailing us.
00:18:14.960 And so it's the deceived who are more dangerous and evil than the deceivers.
00:18:19.680 All pretty chilling things.
00:18:21.140 And so I was glad to get out there and share my message along with the four other speakers
00:18:27.240 who were deployed yesterday for Real Women's Day, which was pretty incredible.
00:18:32.840 One more awesome thing about Real Women's Day, October 10th, XX, was Representative Lisa
00:18:39.180 McClain read into the congressional record a bill acknowledging 1010 as Real Women's Day,
00:18:46.280 which I just think displays true leadership.
00:18:48.140 Um, she is a strong woman fighting for, um, to really, for sanity to prevail, fighting
00:18:54.740 for this nation.
00:18:55.920 Um, so that was, was really awesome.
00:18:58.460 Um, there was a lot of traction on social media for this day.
00:19:01.980 And so, uh, you better believe this will continue on Real Women's Day.
00:19:07.320 We will be celebrating October 10th, XX, Real Women's Day next year.
00:19:12.240 Um, so very exciting things.
00:19:14.880 Um, I'm going to continue on my speaking tour on college campuses because it is so important
00:19:21.080 to engage people my age.
00:19:22.860 Um, Gen Zers.
00:19:24.540 Do you know how often I'm told it's Gen Z who's going to ruin this country?
00:19:29.240 Um, which is frustrating because, I mean, again, I do think it's us.
00:19:35.080 The future of this country is up to us, but I think it's the people who came before us
00:19:39.060 who have failed us.
00:19:40.360 Um, so, so really trying to engage people my age, let them see the truth, let them see
00:19:46.700 how they're being deceived because I think it's important.
00:19:49.620 And I think the message is being really, really well received.
00:19:52.940 Um, despite the few protesters who truthfully they're a lost cause.
00:19:57.820 Um, there are some people who will just never agree with me regardless of what I say.
00:20:02.340 I mean, they're not even willing to listen to what I say as made evident by yesterday,
00:20:05.980 the chanting and different things over my voice.
00:20:09.240 They're not willing to listen.
00:20:10.200 And those people are a lost cause and we have to forget about them in terms of trying to
00:20:14.220 bring them to our side.
00:20:15.180 But there are a lot of people out there who are looking for the truth.
00:20:19.920 Um, speaking at Baylor, um, then UT Dallas this week.
00:20:24.480 Um, so lots of really exciting things.
00:20:26.560 Actually, my, my speech at UT Dallas, I just have to read this too, because again, I just think
00:20:31.300 it's comical as a counter protest to my event.
00:20:36.000 Um, they are having a celebrating Leah Thomas event.
00:20:40.960 Um, it's at the gender center.
00:20:43.280 They have free pizza and join us to make protesters honoring the gender center celebration of Leah
00:20:48.680 Thomas.
00:20:49.420 I can tell you what those pro or what those posters are going to be used for because they'll
00:20:53.720 be marching over to my event afterwards to protest me.
00:20:56.920 But that does not deter me.
00:20:58.880 It does not scare me.
00:20:59.880 It does not make me want to be quiet.
00:21:01.660 Um, truthfully, when they want you silent, it should only encourage you to speak louder,
00:21:07.940 which is the name of this campus tour.
00:21:10.440 Um, speak louder.
00:21:11.580 And I, I hope this can be encouragement to everyone.
00:21:14.640 It is merely name calling.
00:21:16.740 Again, they were chanting at me.
00:21:19.680 Can't swim.
00:21:21.060 Um, if you're scared of, of things such as that, that's what we do in fourth grade is
00:21:26.840 call each other names.
00:21:28.300 Um, that's not scary.
00:21:29.520 What should be scarier to all of us than the name calling and the petty personal attacks,
00:21:33.620 which are very real.
00:21:35.060 The risks are very real.
00:21:36.060 What should be scarier to all of us is not standing firm in the truth.
00:21:41.580 Um, thank you for joining this week's episode of gains for girls, uh, like subscribe anywhere
00:21:47.760 where you get your podcast, check it out at outkick.com.
00:21:50.260 Again, you can head over to the Riley gain center at the Riley gain center.org.
00:21:54.640 Um, there is a list there of different schools and such that I will be speaking at this semester,
00:21:59.540 which will carry over into next semester.
00:22:02.000 Um, I encourage you to go check it out.
00:22:04.060 If you're around any of these areas, um, I would love to see you guys there.
00:22:08.980 Thank you very much.
00:22:09.840 And I will see you next week.
00:22:20.260 We'll see you next week.
