00:00:24.980 Hey guys, welcome back to the Gains for Girls podcast.
00:00:28.120 I am so, so excited for our guest today because not only is he a politician fighting tooth
00:00:33.560 and nail for girls and women in sports, especially in a hostile environment where that is not
00:00:38.960 overly welcomed, he's also a seasoned athlete and a coach in the SEC.
00:00:44.380 Most impressive thing on his resume is beating University of Tennessee.
00:00:48.200 Sorry, Clay.
00:00:48.920 Here is my interview with Senator and Coach Tommy Tuberville.
00:00:52.280 Well, Coach Tuberville, let me just say, even being a Kentucky Wildcat, how excited I am
00:01:01.020 to have you on and to kind of pick your brain.
00:01:04.360 I think we can both agree, at least neither of us cheer for that orange school in the state
00:01:09.180 of Tennessee.
00:01:09.620 Well, you know, we all, now that I'm a politician, so to speak, uh, uh, I've, uh, I've got to
00:01:18.000 kind of pull for everybody, but, uh, you know, Auburn is deep down in my heart.
00:01:22.860 There you go.
00:01:23.740 There you go.
00:01:24.200 Well, well, speaking of that, um, both being SEC athletes, your, your resume outside of just
00:01:30.900 politics is incredibly accomplished.
00:01:33.440 Um, the SEC schools you've coached at all of your, your incredible coaching achievements.
00:01:38.600 I guess my first question is what ultimately led you to leave all of that behind and run
00:01:44.600 for Senate?
00:01:46.360 Well, great question.
00:01:48.060 My, uh, my career was, I couldn't have had a better career.
00:01:52.660 I traveled not, not a whole lot as a coach.
00:01:54.680 Normally you travel more than I did.
00:01:56.380 I was fortunate.
00:01:57.560 I stayed at some places a long time, Miami, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Auburn, Texas Tech, and
00:02:03.120 Cincinnati, but after, uh, I got to a certain point, I, I told my wife, you know, it's about
00:02:08.860 time I move on, you know, let some of these younger guys move up and I was going to retire.
00:02:13.660 I did ESPN for a few years and then, uh, but that doesn't last long.
00:02:17.900 It just lasts a few weeks.
00:02:19.140 And I was sitting on my couch one morning, drinking coffee and my wife walked by and said,
00:02:23.040 you know, you hadn't around here for 35 years.
00:02:24.880 This is my house.
00:02:25.600 You need to find you a job.
00:02:26.820 And so, and so, uh, uh, a few days later I, I came to her, I said, uh, I'm going to run
00:02:33.440 for U S Senate.
00:02:34.240 And she goes, what?
00:02:35.860 And, uh, so I did for two years, probably two years.
00:02:40.260 I went all over the state of Alabama campaigns, hardest thing I've ever done.
00:02:43.880 And we won very easily over a United States Senator, a, um, Congressman, uh, uh, an attorney
00:02:51.120 general, United States attorney general.
00:02:52.760 And, and, uh, you know, I'm, I'm just a coach.
00:02:55.400 I'm a person that's had a job for a long time, but I wanted to help.
00:02:58.460 And the one thing I did see now, and, uh, that really motivated me was that I saw the
00:03:04.160 direction of our education, especially our secondary education, high schools, as you know,
00:03:08.940 coaches go to high schools all over the country.
00:03:10.920 I've been in all 50 States, been high schools everywhere, talking to parents, talking to,
00:03:15.460 to students, uh, counselors, principals.
00:03:19.720 And I saw the last 15 years, the direction that our education system has gone and it's
00:03:24.960 not good.
00:03:25.520 And, uh, we better get control of that because that's the strength of our country education
00:03:30.460 and given young people like y'all opportunities for success.
00:03:34.660 No doubt about that.
00:03:36.460 Um, so I guess, I guess in your wildest dreams, did you think that you would, you be elected
00:03:43.440 to the great, to be a Senator of the great state of Alabama, get to DC.
00:03:46.720 And then ultimately, which this falls in line with the education because we're fighting
00:03:51.920 title nine.
00:03:52.520 Did you think he would ever be in the position that you're in having to fight against biological
00:03:57.500 men, taking over women's sports?
00:04:00.520 It's unbelievable.
00:04:01.840 It really is.
00:04:02.620 And, and who better than a coach, uh, that's a Senator.
00:04:06.320 And by the way, there's 99 senators and one coach, the alcoholic coach.
00:04:09.740 Uh, but I've been on the floor time and time again.
00:04:12.600 And I wasn't here for two weeks, I'd stood up on the floor and, uh, with an amendment,
00:04:17.180 uh, to a bill to say, listen, we cannot allow biological boys or men to play again in women's
00:04:25.200 sports.
00:04:25.580 We cannot allow that.
00:04:27.420 And, you know, I lost that on the floor.
00:04:29.420 Not one Democrat voted, uh, for the bill.
00:04:32.680 Uh, actually we had one Republican that voted against me and I, all I needed was 51 votes.
00:04:37.340 Uh, but it, it didn't pass.
00:04:39.200 And ever since then, Riley, we have been fighting it tooth and nail.
00:04:42.880 Cause I really, I'm probably the only one up here understands.
00:04:45.620 And you've got people on the democratic side.
00:04:47.560 I asked him, I said, don't you have a daughter?
00:04:49.580 Don't you have granddaughters?
00:04:51.240 I mean, do you actually want them dressing in dressing rooms with men or boys taking showers,
00:04:57.720 competing against them?
00:04:58.840 I mean, it does not make sense.
00:05:01.440 It's the craziest thing I've ever, I never thought I'd be involved in this.
00:05:04.740 So it's just, uh, I know what you're going to worse than what I'm going, cause you're
00:05:10.200 a female and you've had to do this.
00:05:11.900 I mean, you've seen it up close and personal and I've been following you and I've been,
00:05:15.760 I've been right behind you just pounding, you know, what we need to be pounding, uh,
00:05:20.100 to the people and trying to get it in their heads.
00:05:22.140 This is not fair.
00:05:24.240 Well, I know you have.
00:05:25.520 And coming from me again, a female athlete, I couldn't be more grateful for your leadership.
00:05:31.100 Truly, um, you, you've shown that you do know how to coach.
00:05:34.880 You're right.
00:05:35.180 And you're, you're coaching these people on doing the right thing.
00:05:37.360 And we saw the same bill introduced on the house side by representative Subi, um, the
00:05:41.640 protection of women and girls in sports act.
00:05:43.820 And, you know, coach Tuberville, it blew my mind that this fell entirely on party lines
00:05:49.960 entirely all Democrats, all 203 of them, every single one voted in opposition of protecting
00:05:57.700 women and girls and sports, protecting women and girls in general, because this is bigger
00:06:01.660 than sports.
00:06:02.640 It's in regards to our locker room and our safety and our, and our sports.
00:06:06.740 And you're right.
00:06:07.180 These are parents.
00:06:08.360 These are moms and dads with daughters yet.
00:06:10.600 They're choosing to, to, to throw all of that out of the window, their moral compass entirely
00:06:15.500 out of the window to what I believe to virtue signal.
00:06:18.720 Um, uh, and I was shocked, like I actually wasn't shocked, um, by the response you had
00:06:26.040 from the Senate.
00:06:27.060 And that leads me to, um, just a few weeks ago, I sat in front of the Senate at the Senate
00:06:31.920 judiciary hearing.
00:06:33.120 Um, Senator Dick Durbin was there, Senator Booker, um, a lot of, of course, strong, influential
00:06:41.100 people, even Marsha Blackburn from my home state of Tennessee.
00:06:44.060 She was there, um, the comments and the conversation surrounding this topic is they'll say it's
00:06:51.160 hateful.
00:06:51.700 They will say, they will label you all of those things.
00:06:55.200 They will say, this is an anti-trans bill that, that bans trans athletes from competing.
00:07:00.400 And I'll be the first to say, and I know you can attest to this.
00:07:04.060 No one is banning anyone from competing.
00:07:07.820 And so my question to you is what is your response when they do the name calling, um, when they
00:07:12.760 want to, to cancel you for saying women and girls should be protected in their sports?
00:07:17.580 Well, they really don't have an argument, right?
00:07:19.780 They, they, they don't whatsoever.
00:07:21.900 You know, here's what happens up here in Washington, DC.
00:07:24.660 You've got the Democrats that really don't have an agenda.
00:07:27.340 Uh, they run on identity politics and they have to get different groups to vote for them
00:07:33.120 because they have no policies.
00:07:34.320 You can see the direction our country is going right now, uh, in terms of our economy or borders,
00:07:39.060 crime, education, foreign relation, have no policies.
00:07:41.900 They don't believe in anything, but if they can find one group that they can identify
00:07:46.060 and jump on their side, they feel like they're going to get votes from them.
00:07:49.920 Uh, they don't believe in this.
00:07:51.260 There's not, you can't tell me that some of these ladies or some of these men that have
00:07:56.680 kids and grandkids actually believe this.
00:07:58.880 It is, it's criminal, uh, that they would vote politically, you know, against this when
00:08:05.540 they know dang right, it, uh, that is, it's wrong.
00:08:09.360 We should, they should not be doing it, but they do it for power.
00:08:12.500 They do it for elections.
00:08:13.980 And, uh, that's the sad part about, uh, Washington, DC.
00:08:17.640 Everything is usually down party lines, but at least, uh, the Republicans up here, we have
00:08:22.920 an agenda.
00:08:23.400 We have a philosophy that we follow or we try to follow and we don't work for identity politics.
00:08:29.060 We're for all Americans.
00:08:30.080 We're for everybody, but we're for fairness.
00:08:31.920 And that's what this is.
00:08:33.360 That's that's the reason that really makes me mad that this whole thing about biological
00:08:38.680 boys playing against women and girls in the smaller, smaller, uh, ages.
00:08:43.640 It's, it's, first of all, it's not fair.
00:08:46.300 The second thing, it is unsafe.
00:08:48.700 It is unsafe.
00:08:50.000 I've seen, I've seen volleyballs hitting girls in the head from these bigger kids hitting it
00:08:55.300 harder and, and, and, you know, they can't react in time.
00:08:58.420 And then it's just downright wrong.
00:09:00.520 It is running.
00:09:01.580 Let me tell you, we go back to what we talked about earlier, 51 years of title nine.
00:09:05.640 I was a women, I was a girl's basketball coach in my first job back when I was coaching
00:09:10.240 high school and title nine came in.
00:09:12.880 And, uh, I've never seen anything so successful.
00:09:16.160 And that's one thing up here that's actually worked in the federal government.
00:09:19.760 They got it right.
00:09:20.640 They made it a level playing field for girls as to guys and the sport of women's athletics
00:09:27.800 just exploded, exploded.
00:09:30.640 And, uh, now the same people that were for it are voting against it.
00:09:34.940 They're trying to tear down title nine.
00:09:36.600 They're trying to tear down women's sports.
00:09:38.080 And if we don't watch it, if we don't watch it, it's really going to affect the future.
00:09:42.960 Because if I had a daughter, I wouldn't let her play against it.
00:09:48.000 You know, if she's going to have to compete against males, not, you're not doing it either.
00:09:50.860 I'd move or take her out and put her somewhere else.
00:09:52.920 It is not right.
00:09:53.720 No, you're entirely right.
00:09:56.080 And, and the, the approach from the Biden administration, even, I mean, even the press
00:10:00.620 secretary a few days ago, when a reporter asked her the question, a very legitimate
00:10:05.020 question about the concern of, of safety, as you mentioned, um, this reporter, he said,
00:10:10.000 you know, well, what do you have to say to girls in regards to their safety when competing
00:10:14.020 against a man?
00:10:14.680 And the press secretary looked at him literally and said, well, that's assuming that trans
00:10:21.080 kids are dangerous.
00:10:22.040 Therefore you're transphobic.
00:10:23.780 That is her line of reasoning.
00:10:25.940 He was asking a question with a legitimate concern and she totally dismissed it and labeled
00:10:31.460 him as transphobic.
00:10:32.640 And that that's the message that they're sending to young girls and women.
00:10:36.320 It's that we don't matter.
00:10:37.360 It's that our safety and our privacy and our fairness and our dignity and all of that.
00:10:42.400 I mean, I could, the list goes on our self-perception, our mental health.
00:10:45.520 None of that matters.
00:10:46.940 Um, what matters to the Biden administration, what, what seems, and again, this shouldn't
00:10:51.220 be a political issue, but it's, of course, it's inevitable in the way it's become one.
00:10:55.560 And what matters to the left is protecting the minority.
00:10:59.180 Um, and I will say your home state of Alabama, I was incredibly surprised because there were 17
00:11:04.240 Democrats who voted in favor of protecting women and girls in sports.
00:11:08.000 This is by far the most we've seen out of any state.
00:11:10.180 Um, actually, I think there were more who voted president who didn't vote.
00:11:13.180 No.
00:11:13.960 Um, so that's, that's huge news.
00:11:15.520 And that's in, in your great state of Alabama.
00:11:18.120 Um, but just a few weeks ago, I came by your office when I was in DC.
00:11:22.400 It was actually when I was there for the Senate judiciary hearing.
00:11:25.400 And I came in your office with a young girl by the name of Kylie Alons and she swam for
00:11:30.360 NC state growing up.
00:11:32.000 She was one of my idols.
00:11:33.360 Uh, she's an incredibly decorated, accomplished swimmer.
00:11:37.140 She's the most decorated swimmer in NC state history.
00:11:39.480 Um, a 31 time All-American, a five time ACC champion.
00:11:44.700 Um, do you remember the story she told you in regards to the locker room?
00:11:50.900 Um, could you briefly kind of just an overall synopsis of what that looked like for her at
00:11:56.860 that same NCAA, NCAA championships where I competed against Leah Thomas?
00:12:03.920 Oh yeah.
00:12:04.500 I can remember, you know, the talking about the dressing room and how both of you were surprised.
00:12:09.300 And she, she actually, uh, said she dressed in a, what was in an electric room, uh, where there
00:12:16.080 was, uh, fuse boxes and things like that.
00:12:19.040 Uh, she was not going to dress in front of this, uh, uh, this guy or girl.
00:12:23.860 It wasn't going to happen.
00:12:25.260 And I felt sorry for her.
00:12:26.960 I mean, it, it, you don't, you don't go through things like that in life.
00:12:29.740 Life's hard enough.
00:12:30.860 You know, sports is hard enough.
00:12:32.500 You know, you practice the dedication, all the things you put into it.
00:12:35.720 And then you get to a situation where you're, you have an opportunity to compete and then
00:12:41.400 all of it's destroyed by a distraction that should never even have the possibility of being
00:12:46.240 there.
00:12:46.760 And so, yeah, we, as you and I sat there and listened to her, it's just, it's just sad
00:12:51.200 to, to see what, you know, the girls and women are having to go through right now, just
00:12:55.960 because of politics, just because of identity politics and because of racism.
00:13:00.720 I mean, it's exactly, they always fall back on that.
00:13:04.700 Absolutely.
00:13:06.000 That's our go-to word.
00:13:07.400 That is their go-to word.
00:13:08.580 They have nothing else to fall back on.
00:13:10.420 And it's just a, it's a shame that, uh, people across the country vote for that because we
00:13:16.360 all, you and I both, we're looking for fairness, just compete.
00:13:19.260 I mean, that's what made this country great.
00:13:21.580 Just make yourself better to compete and try to be the best.
00:13:24.700 And, uh, the way that our country is going right now with the Democrats in charge, that's
00:13:30.240 not what we're having the opportunity to do.
00:13:32.660 Right.
00:13:33.060 Do you see this, this, this bill you put forward this past year, this past cycle, is this something
00:13:39.180 that you'll take on in the next cycle?
00:13:41.620 Is this something you're going to continue pursuing and fighting for?
00:13:44.180 Oh, there's no doubt.
00:13:45.960 We're going to, we're going to keep fighting for it.
00:13:47.500 We're going to keep talking about it on the floor.
00:13:49.420 We talk about it in, in some of our caucus meetings.
00:13:52.600 Uh, but you know, the thing about it is we know on the other side, they've already made
00:13:56.320 their mind.
00:13:56.680 They're set in stone because they know that they want that vote.
00:13:59.780 They want that vote from the, from the group, from identity, identity, political groups that
00:14:05.220 they're forming all over the country.
00:14:07.520 Uh, and it's just, they're, they're pushing that agenda so hard.
00:14:10.880 And I don't understand where the, where the, the women are that, that should be standing
00:14:16.140 up.
00:14:16.360 There should be women, group, women groups out there that should be right there beside us,
00:14:20.620 you know, and, and carrying signs and saying, what is going on here?
00:14:25.180 Support our young girls and women.
00:14:27.540 It begs the question of where are the feminists, right?
00:14:30.200 Where are the trailblazers for women's sports such as Megan Rapinoe, right?
00:14:34.740 I mean, while I, I virtually agree with her on nothing, we can't, I can't acknowledge and
00:14:40.500 admit how she was someone who fought for women in sports.
00:14:43.100 She fought for equal pay.
00:14:44.460 She fought for equal access and equal resources and all of those things, especially when it came
00:14:48.900 to the U S women's national soccer team in comparison to the men's, but now she's undermined
00:14:55.560 her fight entirely.
00:14:56.500 And we're seeing the same thing.
00:14:58.440 Coach Tuberville with Billie Jean King.
00:15:00.720 She's someone we have to accredit title nine to really, I'm sure you can remember not to
00:15:06.200 age you.
00:15:06.720 I'm sorry if I'm, if I'm aging you here, but I'm sure you can remember that this match.
00:15:11.240 Um, I can, I can remember, uh, you know, the, the fight, you know, for title nine, I exactly
00:15:16.760 can remember it, how, how, how so important it was to give, uh, young women, uh, and young
00:15:23.640 girls the same opportunity to have that opportunity when they got older to learn, to compete, to
00:15:29.380 learn time restraints, to learn organization, work ethic, work with other people, uh, understand
00:15:36.300 that you might not be the best all the time.
00:15:37.900 And when you get kicked down and, and you don't win that you don't stop, you get up and go
00:15:42.880 again and you work harder, that's what this country gives you.
00:15:46.100 Uh, but what they're saying is, no, you don't have a chance.
00:15:49.800 Uh, we're going to let young men or young boys participate against you.
00:15:54.280 And it's just not fair.
00:15:55.640 I mean, and they know that, but again, the, the politicians, all they want is to vote.
00:16:01.980 They could care less who they hurt.
00:16:03.720 You know, what's crazy about that is, is the overwhelming majority of people, not even
00:16:09.820 just Republicans, the overwhelming majority of the general public acknowledges how this
00:16:15.620 is lunacy.
00:16:16.680 So they're, they're doing this for the vote, but this isn't how the constituents feel.
00:16:21.860 This is a hill, a lot of people, especially a lot of women, parents, grandparents, this is
00:16:27.400 a hill people are willing to die on.
00:16:28.880 And I, and I had one of those lifelong liberals a few weeks ago.
00:16:33.180 She, this lady, she told me, and it's really stuck with me because I think it's so powerful.
00:16:38.240 She said to me, Riley, how can these people leading our country defend what they can't
00:16:43.340 define?
00:16:44.000 And I love that because it's so true.
00:16:47.120 Um, we have a, even a sitting Supreme court justice who can't define what a woman is because
00:16:52.160 they claim they're not a biologist.
00:16:55.020 Okay.
00:16:55.480 Well, guess what?
00:16:56.180 I'm not a vet, but I know what a dog is.
00:16:58.880 Um, and it's just hilarious, right?
00:17:01.400 It's almost comical.
00:17:02.360 It's, it's as if it's like a Babylon B it's hard to distinguish between satire and reality
00:17:07.840 sometimes.
00:17:08.500 And it's, it's unfortunate because we were living it.
00:17:12.280 Um, but anyways, coach Tuberville, I applaud you and your efforts for what you're doing for
00:17:17.440 title nine, what you're doing for female athletes and ultimately what you're doing for women.
00:17:21.660 Because as I mentioned, this is a lot, a lot broader here than just women's sports.
00:17:26.400 This is the war on women and you're seizing the opportunity to, to fight for us and protect
00:17:31.240 us and our sex-based protections like our privacy and our safety.
00:17:34.160 And so I couldn't be more grateful.
00:17:35.920 And I know I'm a megaphone for so many and telling you that.
00:17:39.600 Um, but really quickly, while I have you, and again, both of our backgrounds being in sports,
00:17:46.260 I wanted to hear about your efforts and, and what you're thinking for NIL.
00:17:51.300 Um, I know this is something that you're passionate about and ensuring fair competition, all of
00:17:55.640 those educational opportunities, um, and making sure that's not eroded by athletic compensation.
00:18:00.260 Um, so would you mind touching on what those NIL efforts look like?
00:18:06.100 Yeah, of course, you know, I lived it for a long time and I've seen, uh, college sports
00:18:10.200 change and go through certain stages, but we're in a stage right now with this NIL where we're
00:18:15.880 on the verge of, of, of going bankrupt, to be honest with you.
00:18:19.960 Now there's a few schools that can, can really hold up to what what's going on right now with
00:18:23.860 all the money that's going to players and athletes.
00:18:25.920 And listen, I'll be the first one to tell you, I know how hard it is.
00:18:29.000 You know, how hard it is to be an athlete and also go to school at the same time.
00:18:32.740 I used to tell players, I said, listen, I know how hard it is.
00:18:36.640 It's the only time in your life.
00:18:37.680 You'll have two full-time jobs.
00:18:39.620 You're not like regular students.
00:18:40.960 Whenever regular students go and drink a beer at the pub or, or, or walk around campus
00:18:45.980 or playing tennis, you're working out or going to tutors.
00:18:48.820 You're doing things that you need to be doing.
00:18:50.980 And so you can't get a part-time job.
00:18:53.180 And so I'm for athletes making some money.
00:18:55.000 And, and, uh, I started talking to coaches last year, uh, across the country about this.
00:18:59.700 And Joe Manchin and I got together, Joe Manchin from West Virginia is a Democrat.
00:19:03.560 And, and we said, we got to help.
00:19:05.860 We got to do something from the federal standpoint.
00:19:08.440 Uh, now we don't want to do a whole lot, but we do want to make, uh, a law.
00:19:12.900 It's not a rule now.
00:19:13.900 This is going to be a law that we're going to try to pass.
00:19:15.840 And it's about five basic things.
00:19:17.900 And we want to make sure that all 50 states do the same thing.
00:19:22.180 Here's what you got going on right now.
00:19:23.600 You have some states that will allow schools to go in and recruit 11th grader, say it's
00:19:29.260 a swimmer, 11th grade, great swimmer.
00:19:31.340 You say, listen, if you'll commit to us, we'll start paying you a hundred thousand dollars
00:19:34.580 a year immediately before you even get to the school.
00:19:37.780 Now that's not what the NIO is about.
00:19:39.800 The Supreme court said you can make money off your name, image, and likeness.
00:19:43.380 When you get to university, that's what they meant.
00:19:46.000 Not, not be able to be recruited by money.
00:19:48.440 So we've got to stop this and what's going to happen.
00:19:51.620 All the money's going to go into paying players, which again, I'm for players making money.
00:19:55.700 Um, I'm, I'm so for that I'm for every player, all men and women.
00:19:59.920 There's probably 500 athletes on every division one campus.
00:20:03.340 We've got to give them the opportunity, but you also got to remember you have to have facilities.
00:20:08.440 And if you people start all this money starts going to athletes, what's going to happen
00:20:12.520 is there's no money going into the Olympic sports.
00:20:15.920 There's no money going into some of the women's sports.
00:20:18.040 You're going to see sports drop because there's only going to be the ones that really bring
00:20:22.380 in the revenue.
00:20:23.460 And so, uh, we'll, we'll drop the bill next week.
00:20:26.600 You'll see a press conference probably around Tuesday or Wednesday.
00:20:29.860 Uh, we'll put it out there.
00:20:31.060 Joe and I will talk about it and we'll start selling it to in the Senate and then try to get
00:20:35.700 at the house and see what happens.
00:20:37.000 Um, well, I can't wait to see what that looks like.
00:20:40.960 Um, I will be following along.
00:20:42.560 I know at university of Kentucky, our basketball players, our men's basketball players are treated
00:20:47.300 like celebrities, huh?
00:20:48.560 And this was, this was before they lost to the Peacocks or whoever they lost to it are
00:20:52.700 in civil aid championships a few years ago.
00:20:55.540 Um, but I couldn't be more grateful for your time, Senator Tuberville.
00:20:59.800 Um, we started, we were a few minutes late starting this podcast because you had to run off and
00:21:04.140 vote and I'm sure you're about to have to do the exact same thing.
00:21:07.000 And so I just wanted to thank you for your time.
00:21:09.180 Well, thank you for your fight for women.
00:21:12.860 Thank you.
00:21:13.640 And congratulations on your show, but thank you for what you're doing.
00:21:17.340 We've got to stay out there after this because that's what they want us to do.
00:21:20.900 They want us to forget it.
00:21:21.980 The Democrats will think, Hey, they'll forget about it.
00:21:24.720 They'll move on.
00:21:25.480 Uh, if we'll just keep pushing against them, uh, they'll give up.
00:21:29.260 They're messing around with a coach and an athlete here and we don't quit.
00:21:34.240 Uh, we just get that much stronger.
00:21:36.080 You and I, so we're going to push this hard.
00:21:37.700 We're going to get this done because it's the right thing to do.
00:21:41.700 And so hopefully, hopefully in the very near future, we get something done to help and protect
00:21:46.280 women's sports.
00:21:47.360 No doubt.
00:21:48.120 And I'm proud to stand alongside you.
00:21:51.400 Coach Tuberville is exactly right.
00:21:53.340 It's time we do the right thing.
00:21:55.400 Um, I could not be more proud to stand alongside him in this fight.
00:21:58.160 And I couldn't be more grateful for his appearance on the gains for girls podcast.
