00:00:00.000Joining me now, retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel and President of Project Sentinel, Tony Schaefer, and Iranian-born human rights advocate, Goldie Gamari.
00:00:08.960Thank you both for joining the polls this evening.
00:00:33.880Now, Goldie, the evidence points to the attacker being radicalized.
00:00:38.020Now, the New York Times, CNN, and BBC all initially framed this as just a simple altercation between the pilot and the co-pilot.
00:00:44.520So how dangerous is it for the media to completely ignore Islamic extremism?
00:00:49.760You know, with all respect to Tony, you know, prior to 1979, Iran was actually one of the biggest allies of the United States.
00:00:57.480And during the Arab oil embargo, it was the Shah of Iran back in 1973 that gave oil to the United States because the Shah of Iran was an ally of Israel at the time.
00:01:10.500It was in 1979 when the Islamic regime took over that they began their jihad with the West.
00:01:17.340So, you know, if we want to identify the enemy in order to destroy the enemy, we have to call it out for what it is.
00:01:22.940The enemy isn't Iran. Iran is occupied by the Islamic regime.
00:01:27.220You know, I think it's also a false narrative to call, you know, someone an Islamic radical because Islam literally says that anyone who poses the threat to their religion has to be destroyed.
00:01:39.160And in fact, in 1979, when the Islamic regime took over Iran, the preamble of their jihad constitution says that one of the responsibilities of the Islamic regime is to export the revolution, a.k.a. jihad, around the world.
00:01:54.540So I don't think that the Omani pilot was radicalized. I think he was just following
00:01:59.880the ideology that's literally in the Quran, because it literally says, murder anyone. And
00:02:06.040we have to remember that this whole concept of, you know, using plane hijacking to, you know,
00:02:13.300for terrorism, that concept was invented by the Palestinians back in the late 1960s and 1970s,
00:02:21.280George Habash. Prior to that, plane hijackings was something that was used during the Cold War
00:02:26.620for military tactics, but it was the Palestinian Arab extremists who started to hijack planes
00:02:33.980in the name of Allah and Islam and Jihad.
