00:00:00.000 Hi Carlton. So today is Budget Day in Ontario. Budget Day is when the Government of Ontario
00:00:07.240 outlines what it's going to spend money on in the upcoming year. Think of it as like a blueprint for
00:00:13.740 spending and our budget talks about what we're going to spend money on, how we're going to invest
00:00:19.060 it, what we're planning on doing in the upcoming years, and so much more. And Budget Day is like
00:00:24.600 the most important day of the year. Today at four o'clock on March 23, 2023, we're going to be
00:00:30.780 releasing our budget. I've been at the Ontario legislature all day. My team and I have been
00:00:35.840 looking at the budget all day today, and I'm looking forward to sharing that information
00:00:40.380 with you as soon as the budget is public. Right now, I'm on a quick lunch break just to take care
00:00:45.640 of my dog before I go back to work in the Ontario legislature. Hi. Say hi, Baxter. Good boy. Good
00:00:53.700 say hello. But I had a little bit of spare time so I figured I would make this video to explain to
00:00:58.820 you what budget day is. And although the budget isn't public yet, we did make a very important
00:01:03.900 announcement yesterday. And this is great news for all of the manufacturing companies in the
00:01:09.160 riding of Carleton. As part of our 2023 Ontario government budget, yesterday Premier Ford and
00:01:16.640 Minister Bethlenfalby, who's the Finance Minister of Ontario, announced our government's plans to
00:01:21.580 introduce a new Ontario made manufacturing investment tax credit. And this new proposed
00:01:27.600 tax credit is going to help our manufacturing businesses grow, innovate, become more competitive
00:01:34.160 and create new jobs. This is fantastic news for the people of Carleton, especially since there
00:01:40.840 are so many businesses and companies that focus on manufacturing right here in Carleton. I have
00:01:46.580 to go back to the legislature now, but stay tuned for my update later today about all the
00:01:51.460 investments in the Ontario budget. I'm looking forward to sharing everything
00:01:55.900 with you. Talk to you soon Carlton and happy Budget Day!
