Greg Wycliffe - Pierre Poilievre's TRASH TAKE on ArriveCan

00:00:00.000 Hey guys, I'm a Canadian. My name is Greg. This is a new series called Trash Takes,

00:00:04.240 where I go over five trash takes in five minutes. Let's jump right into it. Here's

00:00:08.880 a clip from Chris Barber. He's a gun owner and he doesn't want the federal government

00:00:23.020 messing with that. This policy has nothing to do with illegal guns. It's just lawful

00:00:29.580 gun owners. And then what do we have? We have Dean Blundell coming in here saying that time

00:00:34.660 convoy lead organizer cocked his gun and told Justin Trudeau to come get it. There's nothing

00:00:40.420 illegal about that. Sure. Is it sort of a little bit intimidating? Of course it is. But then also

00:00:45.720 Chris Barber, I swear I was there to be peaceful. I think they forgot about these when they're under

00:00:51.020 oath conveniently. Just because you own a gun does not mean you are a violent person. How dumb are

00:00:58.780 you Dean Blundell? It's funny when people who clearly don't own guns chime in with their opinion 1.00

00:01:06.240 on guns. But this is such a trash take from Dean here implying I must be a violent person. That's 0.98

00:01:13.860 what that means. Just because I cocked my gun while disagreeing with the policy, I must be a violent

00:01:19.500 person. Just because you own a gun, you must be a violent person. It's very, very silly and it's

00:01:26.260 naive. It's part of that naive worldview that someone like Dean has where it's like, oh, 0.98

00:01:32.480 you own a gun? You must be a violent insurrectionist. That's the only explanation.

00:01:38.740 It really seems childish. Owning a gun means you're a violent insurrectionist and other takes

00:01:44.020 from five-year-old children. Very simplistic. Can we talk about how the mandates were justified and

00:01:48.580 that's why people were there for the protest? Can we talk about how ridiculous this gun ban is 0.92

00:01:53.500 considering it doesn't even target illegal guns? No, of course, we can't do that because we're 0.75

00:01:58.300 five-year-olds and our name is Dean Blundell. Next, we have Arrive Can. Let's hear this clip

00:02:04.720 from Mr. Pierre Polyam.

00:02:06.720 Who are to give the money to? $54 million for the Arrive Scam app, an app we didn't need that didn't

00:02:12.540 work that sent 10,000 people wrongly into quarantine and that could have been designed for a quarter

00:02:18.220 million dollars in a weekend but took $54 million instead. Some of the companies the prime minister

00:02:22.840 said got the money, said they never received it. It's time for the truth. Will the prime minister

00:02:26.840 support our motion to call in the auditors? Call in the auditors. A lot of people don't see this

00:02:35.100 in the conservative party and with Pierre Polyam, but he is totally missing the mark here. Call the

00:02:39.960 auditors? How about call out the people that justified using this app to begin with? What

00:02:46.120 about the invasion of our privacy, Pierre Polyam? What about the tracking of our own citizens? Hey,

00:02:53.540 did you get there yet? Are you at your quarantine hotel yet? Hey, give us all of your personal

00:02:58.020 information along with your passport. This is a total overreach of the government in terms of our

00:03:05.200 freedoms and our privacy. That's what I want my guy in the parliament talking about. The total

00:03:10.920 invasion of our privacy, the tracking of citizens like we're cattle and saying that this should never

00:03:16.300 happen again. I don't care the price tag. I don't care the price tag. Call the auditors. No,

00:03:21.660 no, no. Let's make sure this never happens again. Because guess what? Arrive Can is so unique to the

00:03:28.160 Western world. No other country was doing this because it's completely insane and absurd. I don't

00:03:33.360 care about the cost. I don't care about the price tag, Pierre Polyam. That's exactly what I said.

00:03:39.260 Arrive Can tracked Canadians like cattle. It was a disgusting overreach of power and an alarming

00:03:44.540 invasion of our privacy. Meanwhile, the leader of the conservative party is focusing our moral

00:03:49.740 outrage on, checks notes, how much it cost. Direct the moral outrage on this invasion of our privacy

00:03:56.240 and treating Canadians like cattle or prisoners in some cases where it's like, you know, fill out all

00:04:02.500 this information, go to the quarantine hotel. We're going to check in on you with like police officers

00:04:07.140 and things like this. Are you kidding me? There is so much more to be upset about than the price tag

00:04:11.940 here. Next, we're going to talk about David Atkin. So he tweets, Convoy lawyer Wilson's testimony

00:04:17.620 pointing so far to three potential reasons to invoke the Emergencies Act. Let's see what these

00:04:23.400 reasons to call the War Measures Act are. Okay, David, what do you got here? Law enforcement

00:04:28.680 leaking info. So I would actually agree this is the closest thing to maybe, yeah, that is an emergency.

00:04:35.860 But what does that emergency imply, really? That emergency implies that the law enforcement

00:04:41.140 is sympathetic to the protest. The law enforcement is more sympathetic to the people protesting against

00:04:47.880 the government than they are sympathetic to the government. In some cases, anyway, because it's

00:04:52.820 not like every single law enforcement person is leaking information. But at least some of them

00:04:56.640 are really having sympathy for the protest. So that's kind of an emergency, but not the one

00:05:01.680 that you think. Next point he has is many groups at the protest. No single point of contact or

00:05:07.760 control. Oh, so it was a big protest, basically. Yeah, it was a big, there was a lot of people

00:05:13.260 joining in on this protest. Again, I can see how it might be emergency for some people, but

00:05:18.600 this is just proving how many people supported this cause of wanting to end mandates and restrictions.

00:05:23.960 Moving on to the third one, even Freedom Corp types, Wilson slash Barber could not convince

00:05:29.020 Rito slash Sussex group to move. So the people were very persistent at the protest. They really

00:05:35.740 wanted, you know, they wanted to stay there. They wanted to make some noise. They wanted to stay put

00:05:40.540 because they wanted to end mandates. So they were persistent. And once again, this, this all just

00:05:46.120 skirts the fact of why the heck they were there to end mandates. Can we, you please talk to us about

00:05:51.540 ending mandates? No, they're clearly grasping at straws here to try and justify this emergencies act.

00:05:56.780 And just look at this blooper. Look at this clip from the testimony with, with Chris Deering and

00:06:02.340 Maggie Hope Braun. Listen to this. You were on the road when you were arrested.

00:06:07.060 I was on the road? Yes. That was hard to say. It was a lot of snow. So I don't know where I was on

00:06:12.320 the grass on the road. I'm not sure. Right. And so were you, uh, Ms. Hope Braun, weren't you?

00:06:18.140 Everyone was on the road. Right. And so you understand you're obstructing a roadway, correct?

00:06:22.800 You understand you're obstructing a roadway, correct? You're obstructing a road. Is this guy serious?

00:06:29.900 Yes. You hear that laughter? Like we got a laugh track and this is emergency exact hearing and there

00:06:37.360 should be because what an absolute joke. You, you realize you're, you're obstructing the roadway,

00:06:42.440 right? Yeah. There were trucks all along Wellington for weeks at that point for three weeks at that

00:06:48.560 point. And so you understand you're obstructing a roadway, correct? This is so funny. And once again,

00:06:54.500 what are you saying? That's the emergency because these people are walking at this point,

00:07:00.120 it was just bodies who are confronting police in this scenario, what they're referring to.

00:07:06.160 This is, it's just so funny, man. It's so funny. I highly recommend you actually check out this

00:07:12.920 video. It's a, it's a good clip. It's from war campaign. And, uh, it's a good highlight of this

00:07:18.080 testimony from, uh, Chris Deering and Maggie Hope Braun. And, uh, thanks to you two for, for standing

00:07:23.320 up for, uh, for being on the right side of history essentially. And then this final trash take comes

00:07:28.680 from Tom Parkin, Tamara Lick and Jeremy McKenzie, no doubt will be condemning Ford's tyrannical 0.67

00:07:35.040 and dictatorial attack on our freedoms very soon. You'll see a lot of takes like this online where

00:07:41.580 they're comparing this wage dispute to losing her job over a medical procedure. Like I can't believe

00:07:49.100 that people are actually making this comparison. Uh, it's, it's laughable. It's completely laughable.

00:07:55.960 Um, and, and, and here's the thing. These are the same type of people who will scoff at freedom

00:08:01.040 fighters, opposing mandates by saying, Oh, Oh, well, what about Iran? What about these other human

00:08:07.020 justices, human injustices happening in some other country? That that's a real,

00:08:11.580 that's a real fight for freedom. These are the same people who are saying, I can't believe they're

00:08:16.600 not standing up for this strike for, because we want higher wages. It's absolutely clown world out 0.52

00:08:22.480 there. And now in the same breath, they exalt a union strike wage dispute as if it's more valid 0.86

00:08:26.940 protest than why thousands of Canadians are now jobless. And this sentiment is really crazy. It's,

00:08:34.420 it really is soaked in this weird sort of privilege where it's like, Hey, I lost my job. Uh, and it's

00:08:39.560 like, well, I don't care about that. I want more money. Shut the fuck up. This protest is way more 1.00

00:08:43.080 important. Really, man. Holy crap. But as a bonus, I'll bring up one last Tom Parkin tweet.

00:08:49.200 Almost two and three say Ford PCs are to blame for the school staff strike. Nearly half say other

00:08:54.640 unions would be right to join the strike. Here's how this ends. Withdraw the bill, bargain a fair deal.

00:09:00.360 I don't necessarily disagree with that tweet. I actually haven't done much research into this

00:09:05.260 strike going on yet. So I'm going to make more content on that soon. But this was my kind of

00:09:09.820 like echoing of what he said. 40 plus kilometer long convoy of vehicles descends upon Ottawa to

00:09:15.700 protest over half the country supports the goals of the convoy ending mandates and restrictions.

00:09:20.760 And they did at the time. There's at least one poll that came out that said over 50% of people

00:09:24.420 support that. Here's how it ended. Emergency declared, protesters beaten, lied about in the

00:09:31.520 news and arrested. Government refuses to address any wrongdoing whatsoever. And this is what's so

00:09:38.100 frustrating. The government has refused to address any of these wrongdoings. Not just the beating the

00:09:43.240 protesters, arresting them, lying about them in the news, smearing this entire convoy movement,

00:09:48.360 but also addressing these unjustified mandates. Addressing so many different things to do with

00:09:55.180 the restrictions over the past two and a half years. All the spending and all that. But more

00:10:00.060 importantly, the mandates and how thousands of Canadians lost their jobs, lives ruined, and they

00:10:06.760 don't want to talk about it. They're not going to address it. And I mean, I have sympathy for these

00:10:11.240 teachers who are protesting here. But I got to say, it really is something that we will remember.

00:10:18.360 The fact that you didn't have sympathy for us. You didn't have sympathy for the convoy, some of you.

00:10:24.240 And some of you hated us, actually. Quite aggressively hated us and think that we're evil

00:10:29.140 people. And now you're expecting us to have all this support for you. And I certainly do have

00:10:34.480 sympathy for what's going on here. But once again, you're crying about a wage increase. These were

00:10:41.060 people crying about their livelihoods being taken away. It is not even a close comparison, in my opinion.

00:10:47.420 And shame on you for not recognizing or having sympathy for the trucker convoy and the plight,

00:10:54.200 really, that many Canadians were facing because of not wanting to take this medical procedure

00:10:57.960 because it was completely unjustified. And as more science comes out,

00:11:04.340 looks like we were right. Anyway, guys, thanks for watching Trash Takes. Hope you're enjoying this

00:11:10.520 new series. I did start a Patreon. You can't become a member here on YouTube and Facebook.

00:11:16.660 So check that out as well. Love you. And we'll talk.
