00:00:25.080 here in Toronto. In this video, I'm going to show you some more mainstream news coverage of the
00:00:31.540 People's Party of Canada. We're going to quickly look at how this coverage characterizes Maxime
00:00:36.500 Bernier, our party, and our beliefs. Then I'm going to juxtapose that with the actual characteristics
00:00:43.120 of Maxime Bernier, our party, and what we believe. Spoiler alert, they don't line up. I'm going to be
00:00:51.680 as unbiased as possible in this video, but I have to tell you, and you know, they don't call them
00:00:57.120 Mad Max for nothing because this is very frustrating. And I'll tell you more about why I'm upset at the
00:01:04.280 end of this video. Let's jump into this first one here from Global News. Former neo-Nazi, Pegida Canada
00:01:13.520 official among People's Party of Canada signatories. Now, I'm going to do another video where I
00:01:22.180 analyze how these articles are written and their different kind of traits that most of them
00:01:28.220 usually have. But let me just go down here to one important tidbit of information. The party,
00:01:35.300 the People's Party of Canada, cut its ties with Walker, this alleged former neo-Nazi,
00:01:41.080 last month after his past involvement in the white nationalist movement came to light.
00:01:48.080 So, this is an action that the People's Party of Canada took that is separating them,
00:01:55.240 denouncing neo-Nazism, and it's an action that they took that I think reflects the actual values
00:02:00.700 of the party. Unfortunately, this act that speaks to the actual values of the People's Party of Canada
00:02:07.240 is just one sentence in this long article. And most importantly, that action that we took
00:02:14.680 to denounce and separate ourselves from white supremacy and neo-Nazis did not make the headline.
00:02:21.640 No, the headline just has a negative association there. And in my opinion, this mischaracterizes
00:02:28.620 the People's Party of Canada. Let's look and see what Maxime Bernier said
00:02:32.360 back in November 8th, 2018.
00:02:37.620 I'll give you an example. So, for us, we want less immigration. But if we have somebody
00:02:42.500 who does not believe in immigration, anti-immigration, that person is not welcoming our party.
00:02:49.440 So, they can't be anti-immigrant. What else can't they be?
00:02:52.620 White supremacists, people like that. We don't want people like that. I was clear.
00:02:57.100 We are building a new culture. And we want to be sure that these people are coming

00:03:24.040 Maxime Bernier criticized for posing with members of Northern Guard at Calgary Stampede.
00:03:30.180 Personally, I've never heard of Northern Guard. I'm not even sure if Maxime Bernier has heard
00:03:34.460 of Northern Guard, judging by this picture. However, this picture has been shared a lot
00:03:40.340 all over the place. And again, I feel like it mischaracterizes our party. This article in
00:03:46.620 particular has a lot of words that talk about these individuals surrounding Maxime Bernier
00:03:53.080 and very little words dedicated to researching the actual beliefs of the People's Party of Canada.
00:04:00.560 I'll highlight, I think, literally the two parts of the article that actually mention our beliefs
00:04:06.160 or what the People's Party of Canada is saying. This is from our spokesperson, Martin.
00:04:11.240 Mr. Bernier takes hundreds of pictures with everyone who asks at rallies and wherever he goes.
00:04:17.600 He does not inquire about people's views before taking the picture and he does not know the people
00:04:22.920 you are referring to. Despite saying that, the journalist of this article did a whole bunch
00:04:29.960 of research on the Northern Guard and tells us all about their views and is just doing their best
00:04:35.740 to associate that with the People's Party of Canada and our beliefs. There is one mention of our
00:04:41.400 actual beliefs right here. Bernier has said racists are not welcome in the party. Once again,
00:04:47.500 just this one sentence here, just one sentence in this long article, not that long, but only this
00:04:53.240 one sentence here that actually reflects our actual views. I asked the question at the beginning,
00:05:00.180 who is creating division? Who is inciting hatred in this country? My next question is,
00:05:04.520 why do we commonly see photos like this? Headlines like this? Why don't we see more photos of this?
00:05:14.180 The actual candidates that make up the People's Party of Canada, the actual characters that make up
00:05:21.500 the People's Party of Canada. Let me introduce Baljeet Bawa, Brampton Center. He's a former liberal,
00:05:30.160 and Bawa was selected as one of RBC's top 25 Canadian immigrants in 2011. Let me introduce Salim
00:05:37.820 Mansour, London North Center, People's Party candidate, also a former conservative. Fun fact
00:05:44.920 about Salim Mansour, he got kicked out of the Conservative Party because the Conservative Party
00:05:50.620 apparently was afraid that they were going to be called Islamophobic. Salim Mansour is a Muslim,
00:05:55.940 Muslim, and he's also the vice president of the Council of Muslims facing tomorrow, a group championing
00:06:02.320 freedom, human rights, and gender equality in the Muslim world and Canadian Muslim community.
00:06:08.260 Apparently, the Conservative Party didn't want that in their ranks for whatever reason. That's its whole
00:06:13.600 own rabbit hole. Feel free to jump down that one. I will leave a link to all of these candidates

00:06:26.540 Guildwood, PPC candidate. She is actually one of the top insurance advisors in Canada, a successful
00:06:32.340 businesswoman, and I believe she immigrated to Canada just 14 or 15 years ago. Here is why,
00:06:38.660 actually, right before this clip, I'll link to this as well, but right before this clip, she talks about
00:06:42.940 how if she becomes an MP, her salary is going to be cut in half. So...
00:06:48.320 Then why I'm doing this? The Canada, which I made my home, my country 15 years back, is not the same.
00:06:58.080 It's painful to say that the government has no common sense, no reason. It's not working for the
00:07:05.820 people. Because I've been blessed by Canada, I have a skill, ability, and family support. I think

00:07:29.400 reason. So I thought that was a beautiful thing. Also, interesting, I thought that I'd throw this in
00:07:34.440 there. She posted that video on Twitter and it was getting a lot of traction because she does have
00:07:39.580 a very beautiful story. Successful businesswoman, Canadian immigrant, running for the People's
00:07:44.160 Party. For some reason, her main Twitter profile got suspended. Not sure why that is. I reached out.
00:07:52.760 I don't know. Here is her new Twitter. She's trying to build up her followers again. Just thought
00:07:58.680 I'd throw that out there. Let me introduce you to Hazar Al-Sabak, People's Party candidate for
00:08:03.440 Mississauga, Erin Mills. She's worked in both public and private sectors, industries such
00:08:09.500 as customs and immigration. Happens to be a Muslim woman. Listen, I don't like playing
00:08:15.300 identity politics. Identity politics is essentially listing off the gender, the ethnicity, the religion
00:08:24.020 as if they're points or something like that. It makes me, it doesn't make me feel good doing
00:08:28.120 that. I met these people at the PPC convention and I liked the quality of their leadership.
00:08:34.620 I liked the energy. I liked the ideas they brought to the table. I liked the content of
00:08:40.060 their character. And I liked them because I thought these are leaders that I think can
00:08:45.020 help Canada and I think they will make a great MP. That is why I like them. Nothing to do with

00:09:11.500 in the coming federal election? Max says, no kidding. We've been getting several media requests like this
00:09:18.000 one. No, we don't keep track of such things in our candidate's database or their religion, skin color,
00:09:23.420 or even sex. They're all individual Canadians fighting for a better Canada. Well, said Max.

00:10:03.080 like a story CBC would want to cover, but unfortunately, as Rob mentions here, he reached
00:10:08.400 out to Bryce. He's open for an interview. He got no response back. So here's CBC reaching out,
00:10:18.680 wanting to know about our LGBTQ2S plus candidates, and then they don't even hear back. So I made a
00:10:25.300 tweet chiming in, and this is kind of the thesis of the video maybe. I said, follow this thread.
00:10:31.540 CBC News only wants to cover LGBT plus People's Party candidates if they can spin a story that is
00:10:37.460 divisive and incites hate. Meanwhile, they will frame Justin Trudeau visiting a gay bar as a historic
00:10:44.080 event. This double standard and hypocrisy is sickening. This mischaracterization of the People's
00:10:56.920 Party of Canada is very damaging to our brand. It's damaging to the reputation of Maxime Bernier
00:11:03.640 and is damaging to the reputation of every single People's Party candidate and member. And that's over
00:11:11.160 40,000 Canadians. We are the fastest growing Canadian political party in history. You don't see a
00:11:21.080 headline about that. You don't hear about that in the news for some reason. Personally, I think it's a
00:11:25.220 beautiful thing because we have a naturally diverse slate of candidates who just happened to come
00:11:31.320 together because they really liked the platform. We liked the four principles, individual freedom,
00:11:37.340 fairness, personal responsibility, and respect. Another potential story is we have over 40 veterans
00:11:45.600 who make up candidates and also executives in the People's Party of Canada. And we have a veteran's
00:11:53.300 policy that was heavily contributed by actual Canadian veterans. That, again, another great story
00:12:02.220 that speaks to the character of the People's Party of Canada. And I've tried so hard to be as unbiased as
00:12:11.280 possible in this video. Let me know how I did. It's really upsetting to me because I asked those questions
00:12:18.020 at the beginning, who's creating division, who's inciting hatred, because I've experienced hatred
00:12:23.900 firsthand. And you know what? I can have sympathy for these people who are mad at the People's Party of Canada,
00:12:30.700 because guess what? Especially here in the GTA, people are busy. You know, we don't have time to really
00:12:36.620 disseminate and consume the news. And we're going to take it at face value. What's really concerning is that
00:12:43.900 people have had no issue at all yelling at me in my face and calling me a racist and yelling at an
00:12:51.940 18-year-old volunteer in the middle of the street, racist, racist, get out of here, racist.
00:12:57.080 This is disturbing. This is disturbing. These people have been misinformed, in my opinion. And
00:13:04.280 unfortunately, some of the mainstream coverage, the most, some of the news articles that get the most
00:13:11.400 views in this country are completely misrepresenting our party and mischaracterizing
00:13:15.780 what we believe in. Anyway, I'm going to do another video that kind of breaks down more how
