00:00:00.000 I am here with Mark Ryle from Hamilton, Ontario.
00:00:03.580 Although a lot of people think I'm from Calgary because I'm wearing the cowboy hat.
00:00:07.020 How many weekends have you been here? Is this your first day here?
00:00:09.580 This is my second day here, first weekend.
00:00:12.260 And what does this protest mean to you? What is it about for you?
00:00:15.540 For me it's redemption because I would say about two months ago I was part of the Canadian group
00:00:21.280 that was convinced by politicians and bureaucrats that people who choose not to take the vaccine
00:00:28.240 are somehow bad people, bad Canadians, and that we should punish them instead of promoting vaccines.
00:00:38.120 I'm not anti-vax. I've actually worked in Hamilton trying to get people vaccinated,
00:00:42.840 helping in communities where there are less people vaccinated.
00:00:45.140 So I'm not anti-vax.
00:00:46.560 But at some point a couple months ago something turned in my mind.
00:00:50.820 I thought we don't want a segregated society.
00:00:53.520 We don't want to punish people.
00:00:54.720 You can promote the vaccine, but don't punish people.
00:00:57.720 And look, we got 90% vaccination. That's great.
00:01:00.760 You're never going to get 100%.
00:01:02.580 10% of people have very strong views against it.
00:01:05.560 And I'm really ashamed at our leader who, when those 10% started standing up
00:01:11.740 and truckers and then others brandished them as anti-Semites, misogynists, and racists.
00:01:19.940 That's really drove me to come down here because, again, that's dehumanizing these people.
00:01:25.020 And I'm not going to fall into that trap anymore.
00:01:27.060 And I encourage all people listening, all Canadians, especially my wife back home who's now grappling with this
00:01:33.680 but was a little afraid to come down because she voted for Trudeau.
00:01:36.520 Even she's mad at Trudeau right now.
00:01:40.280 What kind of leadership has he provided?
00:01:42.560 He has escalated this across the world, actually.
00:01:47.400 He's single-handedly, because of his obstinance and narcissism
00:01:50.940 and completely ill-timed policy that makes no sense,
00:01:55.740 asking for vaccine passports for truckers.
00:01:58.080 That makes no sense with Omicron.
00:01:59.800 He has single-handedly caused this to escalate.
00:02:04.200 And at some point, he needs to be rescued.
00:02:08.960 Our leader needs to be rescued.
00:02:10.160 He needs to do what I did, redeem himself and stop disrespecting Canadians
00:02:15.980 and start listening to them.
00:02:17.540 Yeah, Trudeau, there's time.
00:02:18.560 You have time to redeem yourself.
00:02:20.160 You have time to listen to the people.
00:02:22.100 And speaking of that, do you watch the news in this country?
00:02:25.100 Do I watch the news?
00:02:26.040 Yeah, I watch pretty well everything, CNN, Fox.
00:02:30.620 I try to look at the different perspectives,
00:02:32.640 and the sure are different perspectives.
00:02:34.260 For one reality, you see the slanted views, eh?
00:02:37.200 And independent people like yourselves,
00:02:41.080 what is it, the Greg Wycliffe?
00:02:44.900 I'm going to subscribe, because people like you are really helping here.
00:02:49.560 You're breaking through to the truth.
00:02:51.880 You're right down here.
00:02:53.040 You guys are freezing cold like we are,
00:02:54.880 but you're down here talking to real people,
00:02:58.220 getting the real story.
00:02:59.100 And we really need that.
00:03:00.720 We need it more than ever.
00:03:01.980 Trying to build the alternative, independent media in this country.
00:03:06.260 And just telling the story, really.
00:03:07.740 But a lot of people are saying they're feeling this Canadian pride
00:03:10.040 that they haven't felt in a long time.
00:03:11.460 I was just talking to a fellow over there with Fleur de Lis.
00:03:14.640 He was saying he, 40 years ago, he was a separatist.
00:03:17.300 And he sort of changed his mind.
00:03:19.880 But now he's, like, literally felt more proud to be a Canadian,
00:03:24.340 never felt so proud to be a Canadian as he has today.
00:03:27.360 And this is a guy who was a separatist.
00:03:29.480 He feels the energy here.
00:03:31.160 And it's wonderful to see the blue flags, the red flags,
00:03:34.520 all coming together, French and English, and other cultures too.
00:03:37.900 I just talked to a guy who came from, immigrated from Africa,
00:03:41.840 from Gabon, Africa.
00:03:43.080 And he's been here for two months.
00:03:46.040 And the person who was with him, who brought him over,
00:03:49.400 was sort of joking, saying he had told the fellow from Gabon
00:03:52.900 that Canada had lots of freedom and was very peaceful.
00:03:56.700 And here he is in the middle of this rally for freedom, this protest.
00:04:00.440 So he's learned that Canada's not perfect.
00:04:04.280 But we need to look closely at ourselves right now.
00:04:08.020 This is a moment in history.
00:04:09.400 I really, truly believe that.
00:04:10.980 Yeah, I think when the dust settles from this,
00:04:13.600 and I don't know how long it's going to go on,
00:04:15.380 because I've just heard there's another convoy coming from the West again
00:04:18.600 of laborers, not trackers, but laborers.
00:04:21.220 And then I hear the bikers are going to be coming in March
00:04:23.480 from all across Canada.
00:04:24.740 And then there's another convoy coming from Quebec.
00:04:27.160 But yes, I think when the dust settles from all of this,
00:04:30.980 this is going to be a great thing.
00:04:33.480 And I'm a little worried about Windsor right now
00:04:36.700 with people out on the Ambassador Bridge.
00:04:38.920 You know, that sort of thing really worries me.
00:04:41.300 And I pray for them.
00:04:43.120 But I do think this is a positive, positive thing.
00:04:46.600 And it's a movement.
00:04:48.460 It's a heartfelt, loving, unifying movement.
00:04:51.900 And Mr. Trudeau, please stop dividing people.
00:04:55.140 He's dividing my own family.
00:04:56.340 Like, I'm trying to convince my wife why I'm here, you know.
00:04:58.760 And I'm going to send her this video, and maybe that'll help.
00:05:01.740 So, any other message to people who might be on the fence
00:05:05.880 or trying to warm up to this movement?
00:05:08.120 I would say just talk to people as much as you can.
00:05:12.440 Don't listen to, you know, the main media.
00:05:16.860 Like, CBC, I think, has been very inefficient on this
00:05:21.120 about portraying the truth.
00:05:24.920 Talk to people who are already here or who were here.
00:05:29.220 Go on the Internet.
00:05:30.360 Go to Twitter.
00:05:30.940 There's lots of sites of people who are here posting their ideas.
00:05:34.700 Just learn and trust.
00:05:36.500 Trust real Canadians.
00:05:38.640 Trust down-to-earth Canadians.
00:05:41.800 Like, if truckers can understand it and laborers can understand it
00:05:45.740 and all these people can understand it,
00:05:49.680 I think there's hope for all of us.
00:05:52.100 It's great.
00:05:52.860 Thank you for your time, sir.
00:05:53.760 Yeah, no problem.
00:05:54.460 Bring it in.
00:05:54.840 We have to go warm up because we're freezing.
00:05:59.280 Lots of editing to do.
00:06:00.920 And on that note, support me and support this type of content.
00:06:04.760 Subscribe to the channel.

00:06:11.420 You're going to help us out.
00:06:12.360 We're here all week.
00:06:13.600 We have a lot of coffee and hot chocolate to pay for.
00:06:16.080 So, thank you so much for your support.
00:06:18.320 We love Canada.
00:06:19.340 We're going to talk to you soon.
00:06:20.500 You may not know this, but...
00:06:22.320 You missed Toronto Star.
00:06:23.940 Say again?
00:06:24.540 You missed Toronto Star, man.
