00:01:33.960I've been talking to people from Alberta, BC, Quebec, and some of them are saying they're feeling this Canadian pride for the first time they haven't felt in a long time.
00:02:56.100I think, you know, the fact that it's been so cold and so many people have been coming down here to show support to each other, that is truly Canadian.
00:03:06.080I think there's a lot that we can kind of share with each other and support those of us that still have a lot of questions around this.
00:03:13.760And the more that we can show that, the more it shows how we're Canadian, the more it shows how we're peaceful.
00:03:18.680And truly, it's very different from the U.S. in that respect, right?
00:04:58.660But I will say, like, I do feel bad for some of my friends and colleagues who are close to work right now.
00:05:05.940And I know that that's frustrating for them.
00:05:08.100And they don't really understand from the way the media is presenting it that they can come outside if they leave downtown, that it is quite friendly around.
00:05:15.300But, you know, I feel bad for folks that feel, you know, that have kind of been hurt a bit by this.
00:05:21.900But the problem is, is that, you know, with when when we're not allowed to have a voice, we're not allowed to have that conversation with with our government.
00:05:31.500That's where people and Canadians especially are going to start speaking out and saying, hey, like, I want to talk about this.
00:05:37.500Why can't you come down and have that conversation with us?
00:09:04.360The CBC, they do this thing where, you know, Trudeau is all about diversity is our strength,
00:09:09.780and the CBC wants to have their quotas for inclusion and equity, and, you know, meanwhile, there's a lot of that naturally happening here, right?
00:09:19.300And I guess I kind of wanted to get your thoughts on this version of almost like they try to commodify that diversity or something.
00:09:33.380I think the ultimate, you know, the intention is noble, but again, like you said, like, it's something that happens naturally.
00:09:42.140And if you were to, you know, just let people work as they were, I think your, you know, your quote-unquote, your diverse staff or people who are working or attending protests and stuff,
00:09:56.500you're going to see that they're not going to be, you know, tokenized.
00:10:00.560Instead of just, you know, this is a woman, this is a black person.
00:10:06.160It makes it so much more organic if it's not something that is forced.
00:10:10.940If it's, if someone is here because they're black, you have to wonder, like, okay, well, are they here because they're black and not, they were here on the merits?
00:10:19.280And it, and honestly, it fuels far more division than people will admit.
00:10:24.240And probably, like, insecurity, too, for everyone.
00:10:26.940Am I, am I here because of this or am I here because I'm good?
00:10:30.280It can almost create a sense of, you know, imposter syndrome among, you know, minority groups.
00:10:35.340When I think really what we should be closing on is, you know, instead of diversity as a tribe, it should be, you know, inclusion.
00:10:41.880That everyone who is in attendance, who is in groups, should feel welcome to participate as opposed, as opposed to, you know, working at just straight numbers games.
00:10:50.860Because that, that's not how people work.
00:10:53.020And as it turns out, we're finding a protest, that this protest over the course of 10 days now, that Canadians kind of naturally have that.
00:11:00.760Or the ones standing up for freedom, there is a natural sort of respect.
00:11:03.340There is a natural sort of, like, respecting whoever you are, don't really care, right?
00:11:14.520You know, again, just coming down to see what's going on, see how folks are being.
00:11:18.840But, yeah, very, very overwhelming sense of inclusion, I find.
00:11:23.580Anything else to say for the people watching that you want to help them encourage, support the truckers or this movement or just anything to say?
00:11:30.460Just, if anyone's in the area, please feel free to come down.
00:11:34.920This has been a wonderful, wonderful time.
00:11:37.120Seeing videos and seeing, you know, documentation, it's, it's definitely helps, but it's nothing like actually just being down and seeing it for yourself.
