00:00:00.000 You know, ever since I joined politics, I always noticed I would go to, I really got into it with
00:00:04.580 the PPC in 2019. And, you know, there'd be the pub nights and we chit chat. And I always realized
00:00:11.380 that most of the time the pubs would kind of descend into, this is the ideal society. No,
00:00:16.480 this is the ideal system. No, this is the idea. And I realized, well, this has nothing to do with
00:00:21.100 people who think like us actually getting power. Like, what is the actual, like, that's great.
00:00:26.420 We could talk for days and we could actually be in the gulags talking about what's best.
00:00:31.820 Well, this is the most ideal system. But when it comes down to it, I just try to avoid those
00:00:36.840 conversations and say, well, what can we actually do practically to solve this problem? I really
00:00:41.500 like the point that Adopt a Trucker brought up about how important the media is. Someone mentioned
00:00:47.460 about, mentioned debates, how important debates are. But at the end of the day, it's going to take
00:00:52.320 work. And people don't want to hear that. It's going to take work. It's going to take a long-term
00:00:56.940 plan. But I think the Trucker Convoy kind of has, is a good sort of like small example.
00:01:04.100 What I realized early on in politics as well is if you want something to happen,
00:01:09.120 you have to do it yourself. And I would even add, like, you know, I'd love, like, we could have this
00:01:14.080 conversation another time, but I'm sure Adopt a Trucker, you did a lot of your own personal
00:01:18.280 efforts. I don't think the Conservative Party helped you. I don't think, you know, I think you
00:01:23.400 did it yourself with that community. And the Freedom Convoy was another representative of that.
00:01:29.300 Canadians helping other Canadians. And I think why it worked and why it was this beautiful thing
00:01:34.340 is because it was a simple, simple goal. Go to Ottawa, protest mandates. That's something that
00:01:41.900 everyone understood. Didn't even, didn't have to be people that even knew each other, but we all knew
00:01:46.340 intuitively that that's what the goal was. And we all worked together towards that end and we did
00:01:52.300 it ourselves. We didn't have organizations set up by any means when it all started. Sure. We made
00:01:56.960 connections and like kind of made systems ourselves as we went along, but it worked because we, we had
00:02:01.680 that, uh, that common goal against the establishment. Um, and you know, we need better media and
00:02:08.940 unfortunately, uh, you know, our bigger right-wing outlets, rebel news, true North, they kind of just
00:02:15.160 prop up Pierre Polyev. They do great work. Don't get me wrong, but that they kind of just prop up,
00:02:19.400 um, Polyev and Tim, Tim, you were saying that, you know, you want to debate and it's true, you know,
00:02:25.320 but here's the thing. There's no debate going on with the liberal party. There's no debate going on,
00:02:30.400 on the concert, uh, on the, you know, uh, CBC or any mainstream media, but you don't even get a debate
00:02:36.800 with Pierre Polyev. You know, like there is no conversation to be had in the conservative party of
00:02:42.100 Canada. And we saw example after example of this during COVID, during lockdowns and during the
00:02:47.420 convoy, Randy Hillier got kicked out of the party for speaking his mind. Derek Sloan got kicked out
00:02:52.640 of the conservative party for speaking his mind. And there's a few other examples of this. So,
00:02:56.760 you know, I heard the strategy earlier of like, we just got to keep influencing the CPC. We got to
00:03:01.820 keep influencing Pierre Polyev. Here's the thing. It is so easy for someone who works for the
00:03:08.500 conservative party to give you lip service and be like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I hear you.
00:03:13.440 Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're influencing us. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We totally hear your concerns at the end
00:03:17.200 of the day though. I think, I think you guys underestimate how old and rotten the conservative
00:03:22.220 party of Canada is. This is like a very, very old institution and it is festering. It's got mold
00:03:27.800 that we've never even science scientists have never even seen the mold on this festering wood of the
00:03:32.820 rotten liberal party, conservative party. It's been there for so long. The best way to influence
00:03:38.360 the conservative party is to cause them pain. And the best way to cause them pain
00:03:43.560 is to pick up a PPC flag. I know that people don't want to hear that, but this is the truth.
00:03:50.800 And don't get me wrong. There are people were bringing up criticisms of Max Bernier and the
00:03:56.140 people's party of Canada. And I tend to agree that there are a lot of, a lot of room for improvement.
00:04:02.800 But like I said earlier, remember what I said at the beginning, you know, it's going to take work.
00:04:07.420 It's going to take people uniting together and you know, the trucker convoy wasn't perfect,
00:04:13.120 but we made it work and sure there's weaknesses with the PPC. For example, let's face it. The
00:04:19.660 conservative party is, is as much as I despise their subversion and how they don't really tell
00:04:25.800 the truth. And they, they're crushing it when it comes to clever messaging and propaganda to speak
00:04:32.800 to frustrated Canadians. And it's unfortunate because it's like, man, I really wish the PPC was
00:04:37.840 better at consistently tapping into that. However, there's a lot of strengths and opportunities with
00:04:43.340 the PPC as well. They are grassroots and that means pretty well anyone can participate. They can,
00:04:51.000 you can show up and take the wheel, especially in your local area and start to make stuff happen.
00:04:57.000 And, you know, people will say, well, Max isn't the best. The messaging could be better. And like I
00:05:00.420 said, I tend to agree, but you, you know, you can start taking up the PPC banner and saying what you
00:05:05.680 want. And I'm sure it'll probably align with, uh, with the party. And as I said, cause pain to the,
00:05:12.800 to the conservatives because you're not kind of just blindly following them. Um, but yeah, I mean,
00:05:18.800 at the end of the day, politics is winning hearts and minds and, and moving a large group of people
00:05:25.660 in the same direction. Um, I don't think the conservative party has our best interest in mind,
00:05:30.740 not by a long shot. I think we've seen that since the convoy and yeah, as I said, the PPC isn't
00:05:36.980 perfect, but in terms of the situation right now, that is at least a platform that's going to cause
00:05:42.740 pain to the conservative party of Canada and, um, help them move in the right direction.
00:05:49.540 And, you know, there are other opportunities, organizations that I encourage people to grow
00:05:55.320 and build and be a part of, but you know, we need to stay solution oriented because I think it's very
00:06:01.580 easy to kind of just sit around on the couch and shit on the PPC and Max Bernier for not being good
00:06:05.920 enough. But at the end of the day, like we need to look for viable solutions. And that includes,
00:06:11.720 uh, for better or for worse, you know, getting to work and, and, and doing it ourselves.
00:06:17.540 Thanks for, uh, let me speak.
00:06:20.160 It was very good. Great. Thank you very much, Greg. That was a good wrap up. And I really enjoyed
00:06:27.240 what you had to say.
