00:00:25.480 Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard today's edition of Human Events Daily, powered by Turning Point USA.
00:00:29.580 Today is April 28th, 2023. Anno, Domini.
00:00:33.740 Today's sub-story. The Fed chair, Jerome Powell, has been tricked into revealing in a leaked call that a recession is likely.
00:00:42.480 And the story behind it is amazing.
00:00:44.520 Next, new study shows that 88% of boys outgrow gender dysphoria by age 20.
00:00:51.360 And finally, the left is melting down over new data showing that 9 out of 10 people arrested by Texas DPS in Austin
00:00:58.440 are either black or Hispanic. We're going to break it all down. All this and we're ahead to Human Events Daily.
00:01:02.920 But we would tell you that a recession is almost as likely as very slow growth.
00:01:20.160 So that's a fact. And I think that is partly because of us having raised rates quite a bit.
00:01:29.680 But this is what it takes to get inflation down.
00:01:33.040 To get inflation off of the high – we've had inflation at its highest level in 40 years.
00:01:38.960 To get inflation to come down, what we need is a period of slower growth so that the economy can cool off,
00:01:45.500 so the labor market can cool off, so that wages can cool off.
00:01:49.740 And so that's how inflation comes down. That's the only way we know to bring inflation down.
00:01:54.280 And it can be painful, but there is – we don't know of any painful way – painless way for inflation to come down.
00:02:00.940 That a recession is on the way. He knows it's on the way. In fact, when you listen to him, it almost sounds like a planned recession, like a scheduled recession.
00:02:12.980 Oh, the recession is – it's right around the corner. It's coming. It's going to be fine. You guys are going to be great.
00:02:16.820 Don't worry about it. We'll be fine. He knows he'll be fine. What about the rest of us?
00:02:21.160 What about the people who have to live in this country? What about the people who have to live in this economy,
00:02:25.220 who have to work, who have to have savings, who are living hand-to-mouth, paycheck-to-paycheck?
00:02:30.980 What about people who have mortgages? What about people who are in debt,
00:02:36.700 who tapped out all their credit cards over the past couple of years because of the economic turndown?
00:02:41.680 What do you say to them? Well, you turn around and you say,
00:02:44.220 oh, we're going to send another $100 billion to Ukraine, fire up the money printer.
00:02:48.360 Because here's what's going on. So in this call, that's Jerome Powell,
00:02:52.260 and he's talking to a couple of Russian prank phone call guys, and he's tricked them,
00:02:57.340 or they've tricked him into believing that it's President Zelensky he's talking to. At one point,
00:03:02.060 he actually starts praising the Russian central government for being so resilient to the
00:03:07.480 international sanctions. Well, here's the thing, Powell, and this is what kills me. They know this.
00:03:14.140 They know everything at the top. Go look at Jake Sullivan's recent talk with Brookings.
00:03:21.280 It's so obvious. The elites know that they screwed the pooch on this economy. They know that going
00:03:30.840 all the way back to the building of the system of globalism back in the 1990s, when they brought
00:03:36.660 NAFTA in, when they brought globalism in, when they started outsourcing everything to China.
00:03:40.800 Remember that story? Remember that word that we were told, that phrase that we were told about how,
00:03:45.320 oh, we're all going to get better. Everything's going to be fine. But then President Obama and
00:03:49.480 other people were coming out and saying, those jobs aren't coming back. There's a lot of truth
00:03:54.000 to that. Because under this type of administration, you're not going to get those jobs back.
00:04:03.680 Because all they're going to do is continue spending overseas. Then they're going to continue
00:04:08.520 pressing the money printer. They're going to continue printing and printing and printing until
00:04:12.060 this country is completely in debt up to its ears. And they're not actually going to use any of the
00:04:18.240 economic leverage that the United States has as one of the biggest and most expensive markets
00:04:24.280 in the entire country, one of those lucrative markets in the entire world.
00:04:30.420 Every country on the planet should be charged to do business for the privilege of doing business
00:04:36.740 in the United States. You want to sell something here, Apple, and it's made over in China from
00:04:41.460 Foxconn. Well, guess what? You're going to pay the piper. If you want to sell something, Sony,
00:04:45.860 if you want to sell something for any of these countries, any of them, you have to pay a price
00:04:51.440 for the privilege of operating in the United States and for the privilege of selling something
00:04:58.260 to the American people. You're going to say, oh no, oh no. Libertarians are going to go mad about
00:05:02.600 this. They're going to say, how could you do that? That's a tax. We're against those things. Those are
00:05:08.560 evil. The United States of America was built on tariffs. It's an external tax, not an internal
00:05:15.260 tax. They're going to be taxes. Okay. Grow up. You need to grow up and be an adult. You're never
00:05:21.540 going to get rid of all taxes in the United States of America. So the question is, are we setting up
00:05:27.180 our tax system in such a way that we are helping foreigners at the behest, or I should say at the
00:05:34.400 detriment of actual Americans? Because guess what? That's exactly how our tax code currently is.
00:05:41.580 Sullivan knows this. Powell knows this. And Powell also knows that what he's doing
00:05:46.580 is ratcheting up the prices because that's already happening through inflation, through the money
00:05:52.780 printing. So what's he doing? He's ratcheting up the rates because he can't turn off the money
00:05:58.260 printer. He doesn't have the authority to do that. Now you can talk about that all you want.
00:06:04.300 There's been lots of debates. And I've said that before. I don't necessarily think that the
00:06:10.320 World Economic Forum is like picking him up on the phone and saying, this is Klaus Schwab. You must
00:06:15.860 print more money, Mr. Powell. Yes, the money will not come in my coffers. The printer is unplugged.
00:06:23.160 It's out of ink.
00:06:24.740 No, that's not how it works. It's not like some cartoony James Bond thing. What it is,
00:06:29.040 though, is these are the policies of the World Economic Forum, the same policies that are out
00:06:33.420 there. And these people actually believe it. And that's something where, you know, what was funny
00:06:41.720 is that in all the Tucker Carlson stuff that was out there and that great video he did, he mentioned
00:06:48.080 something about how these people don't believe the things that they say, maybe in terms of wokeism
00:06:52.120 to an extent. But I think that there is a great majority of the elite who really do believe they
00:07:02.440 are saving the world and only they can save the world through their intellectual progressiveness.
00:07:08.620 Unfortunately for us, folks, they are true believers. The true believers are in power and
00:07:16.480 they're running us all off the economic cliff. You got to go buy some gold. I don't know what else to
00:07:22.620 say. Look, are you tired of progressive corporations and exhausted trying to keep up with all the virtue
00:07:28.440 signaling when you're trying to buy products? Progressive corporate America continues to push
00:07:33.800 messaging that further alienates conservative Americans, all while eroding the future of the
00:07:38.800 American dream. It's prominent all over the country. Companies like Starbucks strong arming their
00:07:44.140 customers to support abortion. Financial services like PayPal canceling customers for their political
00:07:48.800 views. Makeup companies like Maybelline making a mockery of women by supporting transgender models.
00:07:55.940 And beer companies like Bud Light forcing gender radiology on you. Thankfully, we don't have to fund
00:08:01.480 these companies any longer with our hard-earned dollars. With Public Square, we now have a
00:08:06.520 solution. It's simple. Join the movement of millions of patriotic Americans who love truth,
00:08:11.920 our country, and our constitution at publicsquare.com. Public Square is an app and website where you can get

00:09:00.220 I came out to my parents when I was 12 going on 13, and their reaction was to take me to a therapist
00:09:09.720 because they didn't know how to handle this. They didn't know anything about this, and they thought
00:09:14.000 that it would be best to get a professional involved. But what ended up happening was that
00:09:20.660 my delusion of actually being the opposite sex was affirmed. I was treated as if I were a boy. They
00:09:31.160 only referred to me by my preferred name and by my preferred pronouns, and they didn't go by anything
00:09:38.540 else. They never even went into the underlying issues that I had. And what they knew of, they didn't address.
00:09:50.380 It was just treated as a completely standalone issue from my gender dysphoria.
00:09:54.300 And they told my parents later that in an appointment they had, I don't think I was there for this,
00:10:05.180 actually. So I couldn't really refute anything that was said. And I didn't know what they were
00:10:10.940 telling my parents at the time. But they told my parents that if I wasn't allowed to transition,
00:10:17.180 then it was very likely that I would kill myself. So that was Chloe Cole from our
00:10:22.700 Whirlwind, I would say, Human Events Sunday special with both her and Ollie London about
00:10:30.540 detransitioning. And in that special, we talked about how this is massive business for big pharma.
00:10:38.620 The earlier they can get you hooked on gender hormones, the earlier they can get you starting
00:10:43.820 the surgeries, starting these transitions, the longer they have to get money off of you.
00:10:51.580 They're looking at this like a market. As Alex Stein has said in the past, drag queen story hour is a
00:11:01.500 marketing strategy. So the question then for us becomes, how true is this? Is this actually something
00:11:11.260 that they use that, you know, that's, that's, that's, that's some true statement that, oh,
00:11:16.780 they're going to stay this way and it's going to help them. They're going to feel better. Well,
00:11:20.300 here's an issue. And in a new study that's out from frontiers in childhood, the boys were assessed
00:11:27.180 at a mean of 7.4 years. Mean year was 1989, follow up mean age of 20 years. Okay. I mean,
00:11:37.660 year of 20, 2002 in childhood, 63% of the boys met this gender dysmorphia, uh, dysphoria disorder,
00:11:49.100 but of the participants, 12% were classified as persisters when they went from seven years old to 20
00:11:57.980 years old. And of the remaining 87.8%, 88% were classified as desisters. What does that mean?
00:12:08.380 This goes through by philic Andrew philic classify over 33% were classified as gyne philic, which means
00:12:15.100 you were actually obsessed with, um, uh, looking as a female, um, having a sexual fetish at a sense.
00:12:21.660 And the real story for us is that this was something that as children, as young as seven,
00:12:29.980 the mean of seven, they thought they were into, they thought was important to them by age 20.
00:12:36.060 They had grown out of it. Now, this also came up recently because Elon Musk was getting into
00:12:41.020 argument with one of these left-wing guys on Twitter who was saying, oh, oh, you know, this,
00:12:46.140 this isn't happening. It's not true. And they were talking about the question of suicide.
00:12:50.060 And this is the same thing they said to Chloe Cole's parents, because I asked her, I said,
00:12:55.100 how could your parents go along with this? And I'm thinking about my own kids thinking what,
00:12:59.340 you know, if my kid came to me and said, oh, daddy, I want to do this. It's like,
00:13:02.940 you kidding me? Not even chance. But in Chloe Cole's case, they went to her parents and said,
00:13:08.220 she will more than likely commit suicide if you do not do this. Well, Elon Musk put out a statement and
00:13:14.620 put out this link to a study when he was getting into this online debate with some of these left-wing
00:13:19.580 and pointed out that there is a high rate of suicide with people who transition. So the
00:13:26.060 liberal responds and says, oh, oh, oh, wait, but actually see, you're wrong because the group that
00:13:33.580 you studied already had a two-thirds, uh, more, uh, more likely to commit suicide than the general
00:13:41.980 population. And then Elon responded, okay, but the study found that it was still the same rate
00:13:48.860 of suicide after the transition. So you understand that the study that the liberal guy posted actually
00:13:55.980 debunked exactly what he was trying to state. It showed that there was no difference whatsoever
00:14:01.820 in those rates. This transition, all of it, the surgery, the hormones, the procedures, it did
00:14:09.500 nothing to stop the rate of suicide in the people because they have a mental disorder. That's how it
00:14:15.740 should be treated. Folks, as the parallel economy continues to grow, we've seen tons of conservative
00:14:22.380 coffee companies come and go. I had held off until I found one that I really liked. And that's why I'm
00:14:26.940 happy to tell you about blackout coffee. It's not enough to simply taste great. You want to be proud
00:14:31.820 to support the company knowing they align with your conservative values. And that's why I'm telling you
00:14:35.660 to give them a try. And I'm telling you guys, I think that Tanya Tay has been drinking my blackout coffee
00:14:42.300 because I went to go and pour myself a cup the other day. I couldn't find the bag. I said,
00:14:46.860 where was it? Oh, it got moved. Well, did, did it get moved by the little gremlins or the borrowers
00:14:51.880 coming out of our cabinets and moving it around? Or was it you? Let's see, because we don't keep it
00:14:56.580 where the kids can get it. Could you imagine my toddlers on blackout coffee? Please crazy enough
00:15:04.340 as it is. That's why I'm proud to personally recommend blackout coffee. This is a coffee company that is
00:15:10.540 100% committed to conservative values. And believe me, when I'm chasing after those guys,
00:15:15.000 I need my energy. From sourcing the beans to the roasting process, customer support and shipping,
00:15:20.700 they've got incredible work ethic and absolutely no compromise on taste or quality. Go to blackout
00:15:25.260 coffee.com slash POSO and use promo code POSO on 20% off your first order. Stop giving your money
00:15:30.740 to woke companies that don't care about you. Stay true to our values.
00:15:35.040 Travis County attorney Delia Garza says the recent DPS partnership with APD is putting community
00:15:43.700 trust at risk, calling new data, quote, extremely concerning. Now this comes after DPS records show
00:15:50.120 troopers are pulling over more people of color since the agency started helping Austin police with
00:15:55.320 patrols. County Attorney Garza's office says it gathered data and it shows that 65% of the people
00:16:01.240 DPS arrested for misdemeanors were Latino and 23% were black. Census data shows 48% of minorities
00:16:09.160 make up Austin's population. The increased DPS patrols began on March 30th as a response to
00:16:14.660 staffing challenges faced by APD. County Attorney Garza sent KXN a statement saying in part, quote,
00:16:20.580 we all agree that we need to prioritize violent crime and true threats to public safety. And I am hopeful
00:16:26.260 the city and DPS can find a way to accomplish this without disproportionately impacting communities
00:16:32.140 of color. Oh, here we go again. Here we go again. Disproportionate impact. Disproportionate impact.
00:16:40.600 So I'm going to do two things really quick. First thing I'm going to do is debunk those numbers
00:16:45.000 because that's propaganda you're being pushed right now. These are not all the arrests that are
00:16:50.640 taking place in Austin right now. These are the DPS arrests. DPS is working with the APD,
00:16:59.120 but the DPS is coming in and I'm just going to say it. They're arresting the people that the APD
00:17:04.420 just won't arrest. Why is that? Well, I guess you'd have to go and talk to the Austin city council.
00:17:10.680 The fact, the same type of council that you find in pretty much every large blue city because they
00:17:18.080 don't like to can do to conduct the policing operations that need to be done in larger cities.
00:17:23.400 And particularly they don't want to go after this. This is the George Ferguson effect that we're
00:17:27.660 seeing right here because the police in these areas. And to an extent, I understand because
00:17:32.440 nobody wants to become the next Derek Chauvin. And so you, you lay off, you de-police, you say,
00:17:37.860 I'm not going to go arrest those guys. What happens if something goes wrong and I get put behind
00:17:41.640 bars for doing something that my city trained me to do using a tactic that my city trained me to,
00:17:46.820 to do and was authorized by the city at the time. The mayor's not going to have my back.
00:17:50.720 They're going to go after me. The police union is going to go after me. They did stand by Chauvin,
00:17:56.260 at least in terms of paying for his, his, his legal services, but they know they're done for if they
00:18:03.920 get into a Chauvin situation. So the city police are de-policing and then the state police are coming
00:18:10.820 in to arrest the people that aren't being arrested by the APD. See what I'm saying? So the numbers you're
00:18:14.920 looking at are not the total numbers. They're a portion. They're a sliver of the numbers. Okay.
00:18:20.240 That's number one. Number two, I got to respond to that guy going, uh, when he was, when he was
00:18:25.480 reading the, the, the, the stats right there, reading the story, he was saying, was it 63%? I think,
00:18:32.680 what did he say? 63, 65, whatever it was. They're Latino. They're Latino.
00:18:38.300 Latino. So, or Garza. The other say Garza. Really. So you're speaking English. If you're
00:18:47.180 speaking English, then you use the English pronunciation. This is a very simple concept
00:18:54.560 to understand. Okay. I speak Mandarin Chinese, but you know what? When I'm speaking English,
00:19:01.380 I say Shanghai and Beijing and Hong Kong. I don't use the Chinese names. You know why? Because I'm
00:19:10.120 speaking English to people in America. I can do it too. I can say Beijing. I can say Shanghai. I can say
00:19:17.740 Shanghai. I can do all of that stuff, but I'm not going to, you know why? Because I'm not a pretentious
00:19:24.480 fruit. And that is exactly what you sound like right now. Like you're, oh, listen, me, I'm going to go.
00:19:30.960 And use the, the, the local pronunciation of this particular word here. It's like when Obama used
00:19:38.680 to say Pakistan, Pakistan. You remember that? He would say Pakistan. You wouldn't say Pakistan.
00:19:44.080 Afghanistan. Like, like, what are you doing, man? You're, you're, you're an American. Why are you
00:19:48.520 changing your voice? Which is a code switching. Why are you changing your voice for just one word?
00:19:52.920 Don't do it. It drives me nuts. I have an absolute pet peeve about it. You sound stupid. It makes you
00:19:59.380 sound dumb. You should be ashamed and never do that again. If you catch anyone ever do it,
00:20:04.820 ever doing that, you want to put it in the same carrot category, code switching. You want to put
00:20:09.300 it in the same gut. AOC does this all the time. Put it in the same category as vocal fry, put it in
00:20:14.540 the same category as up talk, vocal fry, Latino, Latino. And then up talk of course, is when you turn
00:20:23.000 everything into a sentence, like you're just talking. And then at the very end of what you're
00:20:28.340 saying, it just becomes like you're not using a declarative sentence. You're just going in, um,
00:20:34.660 betas, uh, low T, uh, guys who, um, who their wives have boyfriends and, um, pretty much as anyone
00:20:42.560 who drinks soy talks like this. If you notice something, um, former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard
00:20:47.760 does not use up talk. Uh, she uses very downward inflection at the end of her sentences. That is
00:20:54.100 how people know that when they listen to her, they are getting declarative statements. And it's
00:20:59.040 amazing. Uh, she's very, very good at that. And if you were paying attention to linguistics,
00:21:04.100 if you're paying attention to vocal coaching, vocal techniques, uh, hers is an incredible one. I've
00:21:09.060 noticed it many, many times. Doesn't person too. Um, and she's just great, great in person as well.
00:21:14.140 So when we look at this, we have to understand this type of hit piece that's being done right now
00:21:20.580 on the Texas DPS is exactly what's going to happen. And every time a red state comes into a blue city
00:21:27.460 and tries to clean it up, they're going to call you racist. They're going to smear you. They're
00:21:31.560 going to attack you. Now notice what's, what's missing from all of, all of his, uh, you know,
00:21:36.140 he's going to take the time to go and talk about the Latino community, but he's not going to say
00:21:41.340 anything about the fentanyl use that has skyrocketed in that community and in the African-American
00:21:48.880 community because, Oh, look, lookie what we have here from the Travis County medical examiners
00:21:55.220 report. There has been a massive increase in fentanyl related deaths in 2022. This is the same
00:22:03.560 report that just came out yesterday. And let's see, let's see what it says. Oh, look at this.
00:22:09.480 The fentanyl related overdoses increased by 460% for African-American and black people
00:22:17.080 and 247% for Hispanics. So it turns out that in, in the city of Austin, right? That's where
00:22:25.580 Travis County is. There is a massive hyper hyper crisis going on right now, a hyper crisis of fentanyl
00:22:35.780 deaths that the Texas DPS is trying to deal with by locking up the fentanyl dealers, by locking up
00:22:43.940 the people who are involved with this. You know why? Because it's trying to keep those communities
00:22:49.400 safe because those are the ones with the most crime. Everybody looks at this backwards. They say,
00:22:56.520 Oh, you're locking it up because you don't like this. But no, it's, it's, it's, it's actually the
00:22:59.860 opposite because the criminals are in that community. And so to defend that community,
00:23:05.940 you're going to have to go and arrest people that are preying upon that community that are killing.
00:23:11.020 There's increase of the 245 people died from fentanyl out of a total 417 accidental overdoses,
00:23:19.020 massive increase. I mean, you listen to this Travis County judge at a press conference,
00:23:23.580 just this Wednesday said Travis County is facing double the number of funerals,
00:23:28.180 double the number of empty seats at the dinner table and double the number of questions with more
00:23:32.840 number of families with more questions than answers. It's a public health crisis that's being
00:23:38.720 dealt with in Texas. And I applaud Texas for doing this by the way, but I want everyone to be sure
00:23:44.080 that in every red state where you do this, this is exactly how the media is going to respond.
00:23:48.380 When you crack down on crime at this point, they're going to do it anyway. You just got to embrace it,
00:23:54.460 embrace and amplify, go full El Presidente, El Salvador style. Ladies and gentlemen,
00:24:01.160 as always, you have my permission to lay ashore.
