00:01:38.120 Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard today's edition of Human Events Daily, powered by TPUSA.
00:01:43.020 Today's stories that we've chosen for you.
00:01:45.020 First up, a new poll out of Rasmussen. Only 31% want U.S. troops to go to combat to defend Ukraine.
00:01:55.200 Next, Liberal Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer is set to retire this summer, sparking a ton of drama here in Washington, D.C.
00:02:03.020 We'll break it all down.
00:02:03.920 Third, the United States State Department personnel in China are asking for permission to leave the country over COVID prior to the Olympics kicking off just next week.
00:02:13.860 And then finally, Senator Johnson of Wisconsin voices opposition to family policies.
00:02:18.700 All this and more ahead, Human Events Daily.
00:02:20.120 You know, it's been really weird watching this story as the war drums in the United States have been banging away for war in Ukraine.
00:02:41.920 Because it seems like the news media is really interested in this.
00:02:46.440 And by the way, that's liberal media and some of conservative media are also pushing this.
00:02:51.720 Kind of interesting. Pay attention to that.
00:02:54.040 Take names. I know you will.
00:02:56.900 But the question is, who's the actual constituency for this?
00:02:59.920 Yes, of course, Raytheon, the defense contractors, all these companies really, really want to go to war.
00:03:05.240 They see dollar signs.
00:03:06.180 But is there a constituency here in the United States that says, yes, we need to do this.
00:03:12.960 We totally buy what you guys are selling.
00:03:15.580 We want to go to war to defend the inviolate borders of Ukraine.
00:03:20.060 Just as Jonathan Feiner, Deputy National Security Advisor, told us yesterday on CNN.
00:03:26.080 Well, the polls are out.
00:03:27.640 Rasmussen.
00:03:28.120 Because it's interesting to me, none of the other major polling firms are actually polling this question.
00:03:34.880 Well, if it's so important, the polls should be like 80-20, 90-10, right?
00:03:40.680 The high 90s, if you're watching CNN, would support this.
00:03:44.440 But interestingly enough, you're not hearing anything about poll numbers.
00:03:48.540 Now let's look at Rasmussen.
00:03:49.980 Listen, only 31% want U.S. troops to defend Ukraine.
00:03:55.240 With Russia threatening to invade Ukraine, less than a third of voters want U.S. troops deployed to defend against such an attack.
00:04:00.460 A new telephone survey, an online survey by Rasmussen Reports, finds that only 31% of likely U.S. voters think that if Russia attacks Ukraine, U.S. combat troops should be sent to help defend Ukraine.
00:04:13.060 36% are against sending American troops to Ukraine, while 33% are undecided.
00:04:19.120 Listen to Tulsi Gabbard, not a conservative, explain what's going on here.
00:04:24.340 What we have is, unfortunately, Democrats, Republicans, the mainstream media, the Washington elite, essentially, in the pocket of the military-industrial complex.
00:04:34.500 And rather than looking out for what's in the best interest of the American people, our national security, our country, they see dollar signs when they look at Ukraine.
00:04:44.020 They see how they can line their pockets, how they can look tough, how they can posture themselves in a position where they personally or politically or financially benefit, rather than actually thinking about what are the costs and consequences of these actions and who pays the price.
00:05:02.900 It's the American people and, frankly, the people of Ukraine.
00:05:06.560 So I think I've got this right.
00:05:08.160 This is actually Russiagate 3.0 now.
00:05:11.200 All right, we've talked about this.
00:05:12.340 We've gone through all of it.
00:05:13.180 We broke down the ethnic distribution in eastern Ukraine.
00:05:16.600 We talked about the fact that people there, some of them speak Russian, consider themselves Russians.
00:05:21.160 You've got villages where 50% of the people think they're Russian, as well as people who also support staying with Ukraine.
00:05:27.520 This is a complicated, messy border dispute that's been going on for over 30 years now, right, since the fall of the Soviet Union, and a larger regional dispute that's been going back since literally 900 A.D.
00:05:42.840 Moscow and Kiev have always been at tensions with each other.
00:05:46.400 Back in 900 A.D., by the way, the Kievan Rus, Kiev, was the medieval power.
00:05:51.960 And for hundreds and hundreds of years, Kiev was the medieval power.
00:05:54.760 Moscow was some, you know, podunk, like fur-trapping hunting post in the north.
00:06:01.360 Now, obviously, that's changed.
00:06:03.460 But you have to understand the history that it is actually complicated, and it's not the way that the Biden administration is placing it.
00:06:11.860 But the other side of this is that the American people are sick of foreign wars.
00:06:16.400 They just saw what happened in Afghanistan.
00:06:18.740 And by the way, President Biden and Tony Blinken, the Secretary of State, are out there saying we shouldn't be committing and over-committing ourselves to getting bogged down in places like this.
00:06:29.840 So explain it to me.
00:06:31.100 You want to get to a war, get into a war with Russia in the middle of the winter.
00:06:38.940 I can't think there's any historical precedent for that.
00:06:41.480 Can you?
00:06:42.340 Why?
00:06:42.820 You know, Napoleon, Hitler.
00:06:45.660 None of these people had any—
00:06:46.820 Bismarck, none of these people had any, you know, situations where they were trying to go to war with Russia in winter that may have led to some, I don't know, some understanding for us of what's going on now.
00:06:57.660 But I really don't even think that's what's driving all of this.
00:07:00.380 I think what's driving it is the fact that people here at home know this is the wag the dog strategy.
00:07:05.340 They understand that it isn't in America's core interests.
00:07:08.620 And by the way, you know who said Ukraine isn't part of America's core interests back in 2015?
00:07:15.020 President Barack Obama said that Ukraine is not a national core—
00:07:20.520 people understand that.
00:07:22.080 They see the gas prices on the rise.
00:07:24.400 They see the shelves that are barren.
00:07:26.460 They want fresh produce.
00:07:27.760 They want prices to come down.
00:07:29.220 They want someone to get a hold on inflation.
00:07:31.340 They don't want more war.
00:07:34.140 And that's the bottom line.
00:07:38.240 Well, if you were paying attention to the news recently, you probably heard this, but the backstory of this story actually is the story.
00:07:45.200 And that's what we do here at Human Events Daily.
00:07:46.520 We tell you the backstory of the story.
00:07:48.080 So Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, who is seen as a liberal, is considered a liberal, kind of a moderate liberal.
00:07:55.820 And I only call him a moderate liberal right away because the far left can't stand the guy.
00:08:01.140 He is set to retire.
00:08:03.360 But interestingly enough, it seems like the news leaked before he was planning to make his announcement.
00:08:09.660 Basically, and I think what everybody understands here, is the Biden White House heard that this was going to happen.
00:08:15.760 And then instead of allowing him to wait until he could make the announcement on his terms, they knew, right?
00:08:22.260 They know the wag the dog in Ukraine is completely falling flat on its face.
00:08:25.760 Look, they know internally that there's less than 30 percent approval or support for a war in Ukraine.
00:08:33.320 So they're thinking, what can we do?
00:08:35.140 How do we change the headlines?
00:08:37.100 How do we change the conversation?
00:08:38.380 Boom, Supreme Court pick, right?
00:08:41.180 Because they understood and they saw, by the way, that the way Kavanaugh's appointment in 2018 and the Trump administration really motivated the conservative base.
00:08:50.800 And they know because they're facing elections later this year that they're looking for ways to motivate their base as well.
00:08:57.840 What can they do to try to stem the bleeding that is most likely going to happen, according to every single report and all the polls and all the numbers that we've seen, come this November?
00:09:08.560 Well, it looks like they've decided to set up a Supreme Court fight.
00:09:13.880 And of course, so here's what's going on.
00:09:15.860 So Breyer is set to retire at the end of this Supreme Court term.
00:09:19.860 This is up in the summer.
00:09:21.380 That's when you're going to see a lot of those new decisions come out.
00:09:25.720 So Roe v. Wade is going to come out at that point, probably some stuff on vaccine mandates.
00:09:30.560 Now, the affirmative action case, I know we were talking about that earlier, that's not actually going to be decided until next year.
00:09:36.300 So whoever becomes the new Supreme Court pick will be the one that eventually ends up hearing that case and then deciding that case.
00:09:43.040 But here's the real kicker.
00:09:44.240 OK, here's the real kicker in all this.
00:09:46.320 We know that it's nominally a 6-3 court right now.
00:09:50.640 Obviously, John Roberts tends to side with the liberals a lot more.
00:09:54.120 So it's really kind of a 5-4 court right now.
00:09:57.060 And of course, this is something, however, though, that still makes conservatives in the majority.
00:10:02.520 Breyer going down as one of the liberals is not really going to change the balance of the court.
00:10:07.380 And so, of course, President Biden knows that.
00:10:09.520 His administration knows that.
00:10:10.740 They know it's not really something that's going to change the balance on the bench itself.
00:10:15.460 But, of course, they are going to do everything they can to make it seem like it's very, very important.
00:10:21.380 And, of course, Chuck Schumer has told us before the extreme importance of getting these cases.
00:10:26.160 I mean, listen to this guy up there.
00:10:27.320 I want to tell you, Gorsuch.
00:10:29.620 I want to tell you, Kavanaugh.
00:10:32.120 You have released the whirlwind.
00:10:34.560 And you will pay the price.
00:10:40.700 You won't know what hit you.
00:10:42.820 You have unleashed the whirlwind.
00:10:45.420 And we will unleash it on you.
00:10:47.660 I mean, this guy's hilarious.
00:10:50.140 So what's crazy to me, though, is that so Biden, so there's two aspects of this that are absolutely hilarious to me.
00:10:55.040 Number one, when President Biden was running, he committed to saying that he will nominate the first black woman to the Supreme Court.
00:11:03.900 However, of course, the problem with that is, isn't that basically the exact same argument that people are making under the affirmative action case?
00:11:15.280 That under the 14th Amendment, which calls for due process and which calls for equal protection, then shouldn't it be that there is no race-based or gender-based selection process?
00:11:26.160 Shouldn't it be the best person for the job?
00:11:28.080 And I understand, look, I'm under no illusions of how this country actually runs.
00:11:34.400 And I'm explaining to you each and every day here at Human Events Daily how this country is actually run.
00:11:39.480 But what's amazing to me is that on one hand, they will go along with race-based and gender-based selection processes for this and then not pay even any attention to what the actual constitutional amendment, the 14th Amendment, says.
00:11:56.420 And, of course, this is all going to come up next year.
00:11:58.860 So, like, think about it, right?
00:12:00.800 The person who is chosen through race-based and gender-based process will be on the bench to decide whether or not affirmative action is constitutional.
00:12:12.380 You get how that's a catch-22?
00:12:13.740 Anyway, I thought it was interesting.
00:12:15.800 The whole thing is completely unconstitutional.
00:12:18.120 These people are corrupt and they don't care about the Constitution anyway.
00:12:20.480 But I digress.
00:12:21.980 It's still interesting to think about.
00:12:22.900 What's really even more interesting to me, though, is that they need a 50-vote threshold in the United States Senate to achieve this.
00:12:30.820 And in doing so, they are going to require the votes of every single one of the Democrats.
00:12:35.580 Now, who are the two Democrats that have been completely abused by the far left over the past six months?
00:12:43.220 Well, that's Senator Kyrsten Sinema and Senator Joe Manchin.
00:12:46.520 Arizona and West Virginia.
00:12:48.020 They followed Sinema into a bathroom while she was using the bathroom at a teaching job at ASU.
00:12:54.300 They followed her to a private wedding and were attacking wedding guests and screaming and protesting at this wedding.
00:13:01.080 And you idiots, you absolute idiots who don't understand the difference between checkers and chess, you need their votes.
00:13:10.300 You can't just go scorched earth on them.
00:13:12.420 Do you actually think that Manchin and Sinema are going to go along with one of your radical picks now, especially when they're in states that are, by rights, purple or right-leaning?
00:13:23.580 It's not going to happen.
00:13:24.480 It's just not going to happen.
00:13:25.980 So congratulations, Libs.
00:13:27.680 You played yourselves.
00:13:29.740 Manchin and Sinema are going to be the ones who pick the next Supreme Court, not you.
00:13:33.860 We've got a nor'easter with blizzard conditions that is hitting in the northeast this weekend, this very weekend.
00:13:44.740 And that is why you need to stay warm this winter.
00:13:48.140 Look, my family in the D.C. area, it has been freezing cold.
00:13:52.480 Pretty much every night it drops below 20 degrees.
00:13:55.060 That is cold.
00:13:55.700 We've got kids.
00:13:56.700 We've got my wife's parents live with us.
00:13:59.000 It is cold in our house, right?
00:14:00.420 So we get the heat going.
00:14:01.720 But, of course, you want to snuggle up.
00:14:03.260 If you want to be warm, that's why you go to MyPillow.com, use promo code POSO, you get the new bedding, you get the blankets, you get the robes, you get the slippers for when you have to walk around.
00:14:11.740 That is the place to go.
00:14:13.160 So stock up now.
00:14:14.820 Prepare now before it happens, before the nor'easter hits, before the blizzard conditions, the bomb cyclone.
00:14:20.880 You've got all this stuff coming.
00:14:22.040 It's MyPillow.com, promo code POSO.
00:14:25.200 This next story, and I just have to laugh.
00:14:28.280 I just have to laugh reading some of this stuff.
00:14:30.440 Because it's like, we're here, Human Events Daily.
00:14:34.400 We talk about the CCP Olympics.
00:14:36.920 They're coming up next week.
00:14:39.060 And we ask the question, why are these Olympics going on?
00:14:42.240 We understand why they're going on.
00:14:43.400 Because it's Xi Jinping's coronation ceremony.
00:14:46.180 They don't make any other sense other than a Xi Jinping's coronation ceremony.
00:14:49.940 All the athletes are going, no boycotts.
00:14:53.780 Western media companies, they're sponsoring it, but they're pretending they're not sponsoring it, or they're only running ads within China.
00:15:00.280 We covered the other day at the Wall Street Journal story.
00:15:03.480 But now this one, out of CNN, of all places, CNN.
00:15:05.660 The U.S. Embassy in China is asking the State Department if their diplomats can leave over COVID restrictions.
00:15:14.540 The U.S. Diplomatic Mission in China has formally requested the State Department grant American diplomats authorized departure, allowing them and their families to leave the country and amid increasingly strict COVID-19 containment measures.
00:15:28.380 The request has not been approved.
00:15:30.780 China is what, this blows my mind, that CNN would talk about this.
00:15:35.420 China is one of the few places in the world still adhering to a zero COVID strategy, in which it aims to stamp out all cases within its borders.
00:15:42.120 So what's going on?
00:15:45.460 So CNN will report this when it's in China, but they don't talk about it when it's anywhere in the West, when it's anywhere in the United States, anywhere within Canada, with the truckers you got right now, anywhere in Europe with the mass protests that we're seeing.
00:15:55.400 But listen to CNN when it comes to China.
00:15:57.060 Since the arrival of Omicron, authorities have seen several outbreaks across the country, prompting local officials to implement required mass testing, strict lockdowns, contact tracing, and new restrictions on movements.
00:16:11.620 In some cities, people caught in snap lockdowns have been forced to spend days inside office buildings and shopping malls until everyone inside has tested negative.
00:16:22.120 They're locking you in your office buildings, they're locking you in shopping malls for days until one person, until just one person can test negative.
00:16:32.280 They've also set up quarantine camps.
00:16:34.560 We've got video of this along with one of the CCP handlers who's explaining what's going on inside this quarantine camp.
00:16:40.440 Look at this video.
00:16:41.020 I'll accompany you to thermometer on, to watch me.
00:16:43.900 It's at my spare ocasions.
00:16:44.000 Nice îl place.
00:16:45.000 Let's see our door open.
00:16:47.940 My door open is closed.
00:16:59.600 These empty bras are opened up.
00:17:00.480 This place is worn together today.
00:17:01.940 This place is full radiation.
00:17:03.180 Every day I use it.
00:17:04.660 It's also a cientoote.
00:17:06.220 This is adhesive from pudding.
00:17:07.020 So what they're doing in Beijing, for the athletes who come in, for the people that are going to be covering this,
00:17:13.260 by the way, ESPN is not sending reporters over, NBC is not sending reporters over,
00:17:17.140 but the people who do come, and we're sending our athletes because we're stupid,
00:17:20.580 and because we're kowtowing to the CCP, we're kowtowing to Xi Jinping, Chairman for Life,
00:17:24.840 come this November, they're putting them in what's called the Beijing Olympics bubble.
00:17:30.620 And it literally is this giant bubble, there's robots that serve the food,
00:17:34.380 there's all these videos going around about this thing.
00:17:36.140 It's one of the most dystopian and draconian things I've ever seen in my entire life.
00:17:41.360 I mean, this is what Huxley and Orwell warned us would happen.
00:17:45.680 And Tesla, Nikola Tesla, said the exact same thing.
00:17:48.240 You will live to see man-made horrors beyond your comprehension.
00:17:53.500 That's what we're seeing now.
00:17:54.500 But even within that bubble, which, of course, is referred to by officials as a closed loop, right?
00:17:59.600 If you're inside the bubble, you get tested, you're vaxxed, everything, you go inside the loop.
00:18:03.420 But then, boom, 42 people within the bubble already have tested positive.
00:18:09.060 This thing is getting through.
00:18:10.600 It's getting through their tests.
00:18:12.360 It's a breakthrough.
00:18:13.500 So it's breaking through their vaccinations.
00:18:15.540 They're not going to be able to contain Omicron.
00:18:18.340 That bubble is going to become a super spreader.
00:18:21.760 And every single person there is going to come at risk of being infected by this thing.
00:18:27.140 I have no idea why these games are not being delayed the way Japan and Tokyo had delayed their games.
00:18:33.540 Oh, wait, I do.
00:18:34.420 It's because Xi Jinping rules the world.
00:18:39.340 So Senator Ron Johnson out of Wisconsin, a so-called conservative, was caught on a local interview recently talking about child care policies.
00:18:50.000 And this is what he had to say.
00:18:50.940 People decide to have families and become parents.
00:18:55.080 That's something they need to consider when they make that choice.
00:19:01.600 I've never really felt it was society's responsibility to take care of other people's children.
00:19:09.040 Now, I've got a bone to pick with the senator because this is a situation, and I've said this so many times before, that if I could submit a software upgrade to the conservative movement, you know, like when your phone pushes out an operating system update and you get that notification that says, oh, you have to upgrade.
00:19:25.940 You have to upgrade.
00:19:26.520 This is the software update.
00:19:29.140 It's simply this.
00:19:31.040 If conservatives really want to win the country back and take the country back, you have to do so through supporting family policies.
00:19:39.520 This is so key, and it will obviously work within a generation, but you've got so many people that are completely opposed to it because, and you hear this, and I get into it online if I get into debates or other places, you know, if I'm on stage of getting into a debate, where people will say, but what about the GDP?
00:19:56.200 But what about the economy?
00:19:57.400 What about stock prices?
00:19:58.620 What about all these things?
00:20:00.180 What about the people?
00:20:01.420 What about the families?
00:20:02.740 What about the communities?
00:20:03.700 The United States of America has been hollowed out, systemically hollowed out by Western elites getting in bed with the CCP through elite merger, but they look at the stock market as the indicator of the economy.
00:20:18.600 They don't look at wages.
00:20:19.900 They don't look at savings.
00:20:21.140 They don't look at any of these things.
00:20:22.300 They don't look at family creation, wealth formation, homeownership among working class and middle class families.
00:20:29.980 They're not looking at all that.
00:20:30.980 They're looking at the stock market and only the stock market.
00:20:34.100 Well, Poland isn't doing that.
00:20:35.800 Poland, and here's a story out of last December.
00:20:38.260 Poland is launching a new demographic plan based on pro-family policies, not migration.
00:20:43.160 Oh, wait.
00:20:44.500 So you don't actually have to support mass importation of migrants in order to raise your numbers.
00:20:50.660 You could actually just support family policies.
00:20:53.620 Poland's government is preparing a new demographic strategy intended to tackle one of Europe's lowest fertility rates.
00:20:58.240 The program will be based on supporting families and not migration.
00:21:01.580 Speaking to Poleside News, the minister said the plan would soon be adopted.
00:21:05.960 It includes measures to help parents combine work with family life as well as housing, care, and financial incentives.
00:21:12.100 And it is to help Polish families escape the low fertility trap by increasing the birth rate to one that sustains the population.
00:21:20.700 Cited research that shows that 95% of young people in Poland would like to start a family, but noted that this requires stable employment and requires housing.
00:21:30.880 So they're actually looking at a whole-of-society approach to this thing because they understand that these are the kind of policies they need.
00:21:38.820 We've also seen similar policies in Hungary over this.
00:21:42.160 So whether it be parental care capital, whether it be child benefits, whether it be loans that are then decreased by the amount of how many kids you have, right?
00:21:51.260 These are lots of things that we've seen.
00:21:52.800 And I interviewed, about two years ago, I interviewed the Hungarian family minister talking about all this stuff.
00:21:59.480 They were even introducing a way for you to get a child care tax credit, a child tax credit, and a credit for buying a larger car.
00:22:05.920 Because as your family grows, you might need to get a bigger car.
00:22:08.240 But they're actually looking at all of the different aspects that are required for family formation.
00:22:13.820 You should be able to raise a family on a single income.
00:22:18.280 Full stop.
00:22:18.880 If conservatives want to be the movement of the future and if conservatives want to be the movement that captures not just the right but also people in the middle, you've got to come to your senses on this.
00:22:30.740 Do not be the party of Wall Street.
00:22:33.560 Do not be the party of the big banks and the big multinationals.
00:22:37.400 Be the party of the people.
00:22:40.820 Support families.
00:22:41.880 Well, that's all the time we have for today, Human Events Daily.
00:22:44.800 Thank you so much for watching.
00:22:45.560 Remember, this is your action-packed, hard-hitting analysis.
00:22:50.500 This is your daily briefing.
00:22:51.860 You listen to this.
00:22:52.620 By the way, if you're like me, you listen to 2x speed.
00:22:54.440 I go back and listen after I record these things to myself at 2x speed.
00:22:58.320 And as I'm saying that, I realize that I'm going to be listening to myself saying that about myself later today.
00:23:02.800 Kind of an existential situation.
00:23:04.120 Interesting.
00:23:05.500 Be the influence agent.
00:23:08.540 Be good.
00:23:09.040 Be brief.
00:23:09.620 Be gone.
00:23:10.280 Share this out with one of your normie friends.
00:23:11.860 But before we go, it's time for today's history break.
00:23:15.940 January 27th, 1945.
00:23:19.360 The Russian army liberated the Auschwitz death camp near Krakow in Poland.
00:23:25.880 Where the Germans had systemically murdered an estimated 2 million persons.
00:23:31.660 Jews, Poles, Gypsies.
00:23:34.000 Remember your history.
00:23:36.260 Ladies and gentlemen, as always, you have my permission to lay ashore.
00:23:38.920 We'll be right back.
00:23:40.240 We'll be right back.
00:23:40.380 We'll be right back.
