00:01:14.780 of human events daily powered by turning point usa today's june 16th 2022 and no domine today's top

00:01:21.900 headlines the trial of steve bannon set to take place july 18th next two u.s volunteers americans

00:01:30.960 captured by russian forces in ukraine we're going to dig into this next also talking about ukraine

00:01:36.980 the city of miami apparently is holding a guns for ukraine firearm buyback program k and finally the

00:01:45.420 department of homeland security is set to punish border patrol agents who were accused in a haitian

00:01:51.060 migrant whipping incident all this more ahead human events daily 0.93

00:01:54.960 committee cancelling that you know why they can't their ratings stink and they can't compete

00:02:09.380 with the trial of bannon okay that's why they canceled you know who says that the people in the

00:02:15.420 rio grande valley the hispanic americans who blew out the democratic party last night as i've been

00:02:21.200 saying won a congressional seat last night 84 hispanic community massive win this seat has been a

00:02:29.320 democratic seat since reconstruction since the civil war lost last night by the democratic party

00:02:34.660 also jim marchand in uh... nevada the head of the coalition he had a blowout win in the primary

00:02:40.560 maga is on the march the j6 committee is totally irrelevant okay completely irrelevant their ratings

00:02:46.920 stink they couldn't compete with us today well a huge day in court yesterday as the political

00:02:52.280 show trial of stephen k bannon the former chief strategist to the president united states donald trump 0.92

00:02:59.300 is moving forward in federal court and is set to commence on july 18th so just about one month away

00:03:08.540 we're one month away as is stated

00:03:11.000 from the trial of stephen k bannon now that could be delayed there's a number of reasons

00:03:16.260 they could have motions that cause it to delay they could have personal reasons that it could delay

00:03:20.800 from either side the judges side etc tons of reasons it could be delayed but as of right now

00:03:25.440 as we stand right now the trial of stephen k bannon will take place

00:03:30.540 commence 18 july year of our lord

00:03:34.400 2022 so you need to understand that you need to understand that this isn't something that's going

00:03:40.240 away it's not something that we can just not worry about let it go on its own

00:03:44.780 you know this is coming forward why is he going on trial right what are the charges

00:03:48.440 the charges are that he refused to respond to a subpoena or i should say comply with the subpoena

00:03:55.440 to the january 6 committee which is in and of itself an unconstitutional committee

00:04:00.520 however when bannon's lawyers tried to make that case make that argument in court

00:04:06.200 the judge did not buy it even though we can look at the facts and clearly it is not a constitutional

00:04:11.880 body right it is a legislative committee right congress is the legislative branch

00:04:18.860 what's the legislation here what's the remedy what are they looking for this is a witch hunt

00:04:23.520 it is a show trial so a criminal referral that comes out of a show trial comes out of a witch hunt

00:04:29.880 can only be a show trial right that's how that works but let's dig into the actual facts

00:04:35.020 and this is from cnn so you know i'm not uh can accuse me of bias there right a federal judge on

00:04:41.000 wednesday refused to throw out charges against stephen bannon for contempt of congress sending the

00:04:46.260 former donald trump advisor to trial next month judge carl nichols of the dc district court rejected

00:04:51.700 bannon's motion to dismiss the case against him including his arguments that the house's select

00:04:55.960 committee's subpoenas were illegal and that he was protected by the secrecy of the presidency

00:05:00.220 because he had been in contact with trump at the end of his administration the decision is likely to

00:05:05.220 add firepower to the house's january 6 investigation no it won't which is holding public hearings this

00:05:11.060 month on its findings bannon several other conservatives have tried to fight the select committee subpoenas

00:05:15.320 in court but their arguments have been repeatedly rejected by federal judges bannon is the first

00:05:19.920 criminal proceeding to be green-lighted by a judge another trump advisor peter navarro was more

00:05:25.760 recently charged by the justice department with contempt of congress related to its january 6

00:05:30.580 investigation nichols said on wednesdays judge nichols the court cannot conclude as a matter of law

00:05:37.960 that the committee was improperly constituted nor that bannon is correct to argue the subpoena wasn't

00:05:42.180 properly cut and the indictment isn't valid after all the full house approved right here's the situation

00:05:48.380 here's the situation they are asking in this committee of the legislative it's a constitutional

00:05:55.500 argument right it's not criminal conduct it's a constitutional argument the committee is asking

00:06:00.540 about privileged communications that steve had with president trump towards the end of his

00:06:08.100 administration but while he was the president what steve's lawyers have said is that they cannot

00:06:16.240 divulge that information to the legislative branch why because president trump has declared executive

00:06:23.620 privilege over them executive privilege covers communications of the president he has a case

00:06:29.160 that is before the supreme court and so what bannon has said as a matter of course as lawyers advice

00:06:35.800 was that he cannot comply with the subpoena because they're not asking him about what he said

00:06:41.800 they're asking him about what president trump said that would be covered by executive privilege now you

00:06:48.860 can look back one way or the other and say okay you know maybe that's not executive privilege which which

00:06:54.220 way or another but it's clearly not criminal conduct it's a constitutional debate it's a constitutional

00:06:59.700 argument it's not a crime to debate the constitution but that's what we have here because we have a two-tier

00:07:06.020 system of justice it's not hypocrisy it's hierarchy this is banana republic behavior they're going after 0.92

00:07:14.600 the chief advisors to the president of the united states of the opposition understand what point in the

00:07:21.900 movie you are in and you better get ready you better get ready because we have a lot of work to do

00:08:46.660 this off and the regret preparewithposo.com do it today uh standing together against a murderous

00:08:56.400 dictator a pure thug who is waging an immoral war against the people in ukraine well and this story

00:09:04.140 is something that suffice to say we knew it would be coming right and we had got the first indications

00:09:09.320 of this yesterday i wanted to wait for a little bit more reporting on it but it has been confirmed

00:09:13.520 at this point that two american volunteers that went over to fight in ukraine in the ukrainian

00:09:21.400 international battalion have been captured by russian forces uh the two gentlemen both came over

00:09:29.120 they're both prior service members in the united states prior veterans i believe one was army and one

00:09:34.440 was a marine uh they were captured outside of the city of kharkiv first individual is named robert

00:09:41.480 druk 39 the second andy huynh 27 uh druk was from tuscaloosa alabama andy himself was born in

00:09:51.420 california but then also had been studying in alabama they were captured while fighting for

00:09:55.860 the ukrainian army last week the pair were part of a two-men squad which encountered russian forces

00:10:00.940 in kharkiv they reportedly disabled a russian tank but were lost in the fog of return fire and then

00:10:07.300 disappeared druk served in iraq in the u.s army when a former marine had never been in active

00:10:13.160 combat before give an interview before he ventured to the region in which he said that he was prepared

00:10:17.960 to die there are fears that the two of them may be given the same death sentences as the two british

00:10:25.280 fighters who were captured last week sean pinner and aden aslan those two were captured in april and last

00:10:31.380 week were sentenced to death by a firing squad the biden administration has not yet even commented

00:10:36.840 on the capture of the two americans russia continues to advance through ukraine mazelinski begs the west

00:10:42.560 for more weapons and support by president biden on wednesday pledged another one billion dollars

00:10:47.800 in support to ukraine i'm reading this from the daily mail peace look i i don't really know what to say

00:10:54.480 right this was inevitable right this was inevitable that if you were going to go over and we just got

00:10:58.080 back from there my brother and i got back from ukraine and we're seeing it we saw it up close

00:11:04.700 and personal not as up close and personal as these two did obviously and i had my brother on war room

00:11:10.360 yesterday we were discussing some of the things that we did see while we were on the ground in ukraine

00:11:14.680 and we might be doing a special episode of human events daily to really kind of go in depth and talk

00:11:20.660 more about not only my recollections and of course we have that piece from uh when i recorded it on the

00:11:26.380 train coming back from odessa the night train from odessa but actually get my brother in here

00:11:30.840 and kind of interview him based on what his perceptions were you know one thing he said to me

00:11:35.500 after the interview yesterday was he pointed out you know there's so many ukrainian flags that you see in

00:11:43.440 america right now so many people supporting the ukrainian people he said but when we were in ukraine

00:11:48.760 i didn't see a single american flag to say you know thank you for our support or say that you're

00:11:56.140 standing with the american people and it just was a perception you know an observation that he had made

00:12:01.440 so when you look at this case in this situation you also go back and look at some of the losses that

00:12:08.520 are coming through a ukrainian official a ukrainian official just put this out and axios has the story

00:12:14.220 that they are losing as many as 100 to 200 excuse me 200 to 500 soldiers killed on average every day

00:12:26.800 in the east in the donbass region and up to 1 000 ukrainian soldiers killed or wounded casualties

00:12:34.680 every day in that donbass region what's the big picture president vladimir zelinski said on june 1st

00:12:40.060 60 to 100 troops were being killed daily but as russia has stepped up its donbass offensive

00:12:46.420 and these new negotiations it does look like as many as 1 000 casualties per day what ukrainian

00:12:54.820 what ukrainian lacks they say is the weaponry and ammunition to match russia etc etc look

00:12:59.020 the russian supply lines are right there the russian army is right there the encirclement operations

00:13:07.240 are continuing and president macron over in france came out yesterday and he said look

00:13:13.480 europe is a long continent and at the end of europe russia is there and they are a strong country

00:13:20.840 they are there today they were there yesterday they will be there tomorrow we have to figure out a way

00:13:26.840 to live together geography is destiny hong kong is next to china taiwan is right across the strait

00:13:35.140 right you have to find a way you have to find a way to figure this out because when you look at the

00:13:42.520 situation in the taiwan strait what does president xi want chairman xi rather want they want to call

00:13:49.440 it operation t mark my words he is going to be making his move on taiwan very soon

00:13:57.040 we've created a new program if there are guns around your house that you do not want the city

00:14:04.040 of miami will buy them back from you and send them to the ukraine so we know that the number one source 1.00

00:14:10.800 of uh crime guns at least in the city of miami are weapons that have been stolen uh from citizens right

00:14:16.900 and now are being used by criminals uh secondary motive straw buyers we're working with atf on that

00:14:21.760 but this one uh it's going to help us kind of keep guns away from the hands of folks that don't want

00:14:28.100 them that don't need them that are not comfortable with them or for you know personal reasons no longer

00:14:33.360 wish to have it or wish to you know surrender them voluntarily uh so we're looking forward to getting

00:14:38.920 the entire city of miami and the whole county as a whole involved and and have them contribute and

00:14:45.480 donate any weapons that are unwanted uh any weapons that that you no longer feel you can take care of

00:14:51.440 we'll take them off your hands and we'll make sure it gets the right hands in ukraine and help the

00:14:55.120 fight against communism now this is a story that just warms my heart this is this is really one of

00:15:00.520 those stories when you look at it and you think boy i just love everything that's going on in our

00:15:05.780 country i love you know i look at the news and it just makes me happy it makes me so wonderful

00:15:09.860 i feel so filled with joy and the grace of god when i see stories like this the city of miami

00:15:17.220 is holding a guns for ukraine firearm buyback program isn't that nice isn't that wonderful

00:15:24.840 folks the guns received through this program would be shipped to ukraine to support the country's 0.90

00:15:31.580 efforts to defend itself from the ongoing russian invasion the city of miami and we've got the little

00:15:38.240 card here that got and they've got prices they've actually got price levels so you know it's like a

00:15:43.040 multi-level marketing right so you want to get in here we go here's where to go we want to support

00:15:47.400 ukraine and take guns off the streets turn in your firearm and let's go through the details of this

00:15:53.220 you get a 50 gift card for a firearm i guess that's your handguns 100 gift card for a shotgun or rifle

00:16:01.380 but if you turn in a 223 caliber ar-15 or ak-47 you get a 150 gift card well that's interesting because

00:16:12.760 i don't know if anyone's paying attention there but an ak-47 is not 223 ak-47 is

00:16:19.960 is a 7.62 round so kind of explain or a 308 so maybe you could explain to us which i guess they do

00:16:29.160 make ak-47s that are rifled in 223 but are they saying that specifically if i had the ak-47 and a

00:16:35.380 308 i'd ask for more i want 200 at least by the way who in their right mind is going to be turning in

00:16:41.680 right even if you have like you know your worst bargain bin built it yourself lower receiver etc

00:16:49.640 ar-15 you're still spending more than 150 bucks on it you're spending at least 400 500 and probably

00:16:56.900 with inflation right now and if you're looking at the higher end what that's probably like a thousand

00:17:00.660 or more including accessories put it this way put it this way if you are someone who is willing to

00:17:07.260 turn your gun in for something like this then you deserve to not have guns anymore right you deserve

00:17:12.340 to lose your right to self-defense at that point if you're if you're just willing to go and do this

00:17:15.760 right what i think is amazing though is that i see the left they love this they love this idea they

00:17:21.860 think it's wonderful and this is the same left that normally hates guns so explain this to me right

00:17:26.160 just just just walk me through just want to be very careful about this so guns are bad because

00:17:32.200 guns cause crime that's the left's contention so if guns are bad in the united states you get rid of

00:17:39.360 handguns get rid of the shotguns and rifles the ar-15s and the ak-47s even the 223 ak-47s

00:17:47.560 do they at what point on their way to ukraine do they be magically become good is it when they leave

00:17:55.620 the united states is it when they're going over the ocean are they going on the air perhaps are

00:17:59.960 they on an airplane do they magically become good when they finally get into the soil of ukraine does 1.00

00:18:06.000 that magically make guns good when they cross the border there at lviv like we did right i still don't

00:18:11.360 get this it's amazing by the way it's amazing because i saw a tweet last week from george takei

00:18:16.820 and uh the star wars actor huge lib right he probably doesn't even run his own account but he said

00:18:21.400 something like and i'm gonna i'm gonna butcher it but he was like he was like i i'm glad that all the

00:18:26.680 people of ukraine have assault rifles because they're now able to defend their country looking

00:18:31.800 at it like yes exactly that's exactly the point george it's like accidental conservative talking

00:18:40.200 points right yeah they're able to defend themselves that's the whole right put it this way put it this

00:18:45.640 way right number one if they asked me whatever happened to your guns i say i lost all my guns in a

00:18:49.600 voting accident that's number one but number two they said why do you need an ar-15 i said well i

00:18:53.540 need to my ar-15 defends me from the evil racist vladimir putin that's what you got to say say it

00:19:00.820 every single time and just watch their heads evil racist vladimir putin that's why we need ar-15s

00:19:06.320 in the midst of meeting these challenges we our entire nation saw horrifying images that do not reflect

00:19:16.460 who we are who we aspire to be or the integrity and values of our truly heroic personnel in the

00:19:24.640 department of homeland security the investigation into what occurred has not yet concluded we know

00:19:31.640 that those images painfully conjured up the worst elements of our nation's ongoing battle against

00:19:38.520 systemic racism and our final story today comes to us via the new york post the department of homeland

00:19:45.360 security is preparing to discipline discipline multiple horseback police uh border patrol agents

00:19:52.600 involved in the whipping of haitian migrants at the u.s mexico border except that's kind of funny 1.00

00:19:58.280 because i remember looking into this story when it first happened i didn't see any whipping i didn't see

00:20:04.280 whipping at all what i saw were the reins of the horse right the rider has holding the reins in his hand

00:20:10.520 and he was twirling them sure but it wasn't whipping anyone those aren't whips those are reins

00:20:15.220 have you ever ridden a horse before city people right this is ridiculous and now they're being what

00:20:21.960 does it say a federal source told fox news that in the coming days homeland security so mayorkas

00:20:27.280 secretary mayorkas is offering a proposal to discipline the agents who then have had the chance

00:20:32.260 to defend themselves the charges will be administrative violations but the agents were

00:20:38.020 cleared of criminal charges images at the u.s mexico border showing federal agents on horseback

00:20:43.400 until rio texas attempting to stop migrants from entering the company country provoked outrage

00:20:48.120 particularly among democratic lawmakers some accused the agents of using their long reins meant to

00:20:53.900 control the horses as whips against the migrants and investigation was later launched

00:20:58.020 the photographer right the photographer who was there not even a member totally independent guy

00:21:04.700 said the images have been misconstrued as showing abusive behavior there was no abusive behavior

00:21:11.620 there wasn't at all right and the one one picture you can actually see um the reins are just falling

00:21:17.380 falling off the horse right because that's what reins would do and then he's using his hand to reach

00:21:22.440 forward and grab the migrant but biden of course came out it was horrible what you see

00:21:27.760 the people treated like they were the horse was nearly running them over people being well okay like

00:21:34.140 no serious country on the face of the planet would treat the border like this none you'd set up a wall

00:21:42.440 you'd set up some kind of security it's not the border patrol's fault that these guys were trying to cross

00:21:50.340 in an area where there's no roads of course they were trying to do that because they didn't want

00:21:55.900 to be caught that's why you needed the horses to go and get there this is insane it's complete it's

00:22:03.540 it's absolutely backwards everything we do is backwards i swear it's like we have a border

00:22:09.240 as an open door that's not a real border that should be defended no no no it's a border that exists

00:22:16.200 for them to come across so that they can get into our country and we need to make sure that they roll 1.00

00:22:21.140 out the red carpet what would you rather have us do right why doesn't the biden administration just

00:22:26.480 come out and why doesn't president biden just come out himself and say you know what no more borders

00:22:31.420 we don't support it we don't support the policy of having a border we don't just want open borders

00:22:36.200 we want no borders we've already seen and you can see the numbers on this more migrants came across 1.00

00:22:43.360 the border illegal migrants came across the border last month than ever have in recorded history

00:22:49.600 ever have people are talking about that this is invasion levels bigger than the amount of troops

00:22:57.840 that we sent on d-day to normandy that's coming across our border on a monthly basis it is a flood it

00:23:06.020 is a deluge is what it is and the biden administration it's not incompetence it's deliberate

00:23:12.260 and that's all the time we have today human events daily remember our promise our oath our solemn
