00:00:54.220Regardless of whether there was criminal wrongdoing on behalf of the governor, of course, like I said, well, we're going to let the law make those determinations.
00:01:00.900We know that he turned a blind eye towards this.
00:01:03.320I mean, you have people, Will, who came into this country, many of them illegally, and six months later they're driving Mercedes despite the fact that they don't have a job.
00:01:13.300That doesn't happen without some defrauding of the American taxpayer.
00:01:17.520The fact that they turned a blind eye towards it for so long is a scandal.
00:01:21.680We're also going to find out whether it was criminal.
00:01:23.560Some big news out of the Emirates say the UAE announcing they will be leaving OPEC on May 1st.
00:01:28.660That's the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries.
00:01:31.920Iran was one of five founding members back in 1960.
00:01:35.900The UAE, the seventh largest oil exporter in the world.
00:01:38.800It appears that Iran, a big reason for the UAE to be leaving now.
00:01:41.720At a nationwide average of $4.23 per gallon, gas prices now at their highest level this
00:01:47.460year and since the war with Iran began. Here in California, the state with the highest gas taxes,
00:01:53.720the average nearing $6 a gallon, premium users shelling out 40 cents more. This morning,
00:01:59.660House Republicans are one step closer to unlocking billions of dollars to pay for
00:02:04.300immigration enforcement. The House voted late Wednesday to adopt a budget framework,
00:02:09.680setting up a path to fund ICE and Border Patrol without Democratic support. Today,
00:02:14.020Florida House and Senate voting to approve a new congressional map that could give Republicans
00:02:18.140four more seats in Congress. We're coming on the air because the Supreme Court has just released
00:02:23.020a major decision which could have a profound impact on the midterm elections. The justices
00:02:28.760issuing a ruling on a case out of Louisiana involving the Voting Rights Act redistricting
00:02:34.700and whether states must end any consideration of race when redrawing congressional maps. The
00:02:40.020decision, potentially reducing the influence of minority voters and minority representation in
00:02:46.640Congress. Tonight, these chilling images of the man the Justice Department is calling a would-be
00:02:52.380assassin, just moments before authorities say he unleashed mayhem at the White House Correspondents
00:02:57.740Dinner. 31-year-old teacher Cole Allen in a black shirt and red tie, admiring himself in the mirror
00:03:04.160of his hotel room. Zoom in and you can see knives and weapons on his body and in his bag.
00:03:09.460And tonight, new pictures obtained by The Washington Post
00:03:12.300allegedly show Allen carrying a shotgun as he rushed through the metal detectors.
00:03:18.340Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard today's edition of Human Events Daily.
00:03:22.080We're here live, Real America's Voice.
00:03:31.440We now have the charging document, the indictment out on Cole Thomas Allen.
00:03:37.600The third assassination attempt of President Trump.
00:03:42.580And reading through the documents, obviously the most striking thing that we've all seen here
00:03:47.400is a selfie that he took prior to attempting to murder the president.
00:03:53.740You can see knives and guns, a murse, a man purse that he is using for an ammo bag
00:04:02.260that he has with him as if he's in some kind of video game.
00:04:06.380He actually thought he actually had knives. He thought that perhaps he'd be able to use the knives.
00:04:11.580He also had, I believe, throwing knives at one point that you can see in some of these, you know, some of these images that we're now showing.
00:04:20.520So he actually thought that he would be throwing knives.
00:04:23.680I mean, just it speaks to a level of disassociation with reality when you actually look at what he thought would be a good idea.
00:04:31.900But I want and guys, if you can show the the weapons again in the images, and I'd like to also show the shotgun, because look at this.
00:16:51.560Because I've been pretty critical that you weren't elected.
00:16:54.320The president in the coalition wasn't elected by boomers, but they've been governing like a Fox, kind of like a typical Fox News watcher would want to see a Republican president govern.
00:17:04.540And we put this up on the crosstabs this week.
00:17:06.920We're going to do it from now on because our sample sizes are big enough.
00:17:09.660go look at and break it down by generation the president's strongest supporters are actually
00:17:14.760young men millennial men younger generation men they don't want to see the kind of agenda we've
00:17:22.020been seeing but they've been hanging on for him and they they love that you put comey in a video
00:17:27.220like comey was forced to do this video the other day they love it and they throw they throw stuff
00:17:31.860at the tv and laugh at him and mock him you know people like fauci's assistant exactly the covid
00:17:36.860you know the idea that running on it as a primary issue that's one thing but people do want people
00:17:42.900punished for what happened during covid like these are not forgivable sins in the minds of
00:17:47.500these voters they want uh you know like donald trump said i will be your retribution they want
00:17:52.680that retribution and i think it's important it really needs to be the most important conversation
00:17:57.220we have going forward because if you guys look at those generation demographics we put up on the
00:18:01.960crosstabs, you'll see two things. One, that boomers live in their own world. And that is
00:18:08.160including us apart from the silent generation and the builder generations, right? And definitely
00:18:14.900from millennial, Gen X and Gen Z. The electorate is going, the first boomers turn 80 this year,
00:18:20.920guys. The electorate is going to change very rapidly in the near future. And we have to care
00:18:27.400what those millennials think. We have to care what Gen X thinks. We have to care what Gen Z thinks.
00:18:31.960They're the future. And the funny thing about those boomers, which Republicans haven't seemed
00:18:36.960to come to grips with yet, they're not very loyal. They're not. They're not the seniors
00:18:42.460of 10 years ago. And that's, Rich, I want to have you on for longer to be able to pick your
00:18:47.620brain some more. We have a very special guest coming up next, and we're only able to have her
00:18:52.280today. So thank you so much for being here. Go and follow Rich Barris, the People's Pundit,
00:20:15.880I could not have expected that everybody would be talking about Sam Alito this week
00:20:20.080with his major decision on the Voting Rights Act.
00:20:23.300But it was seeing so many of these decisions over the years
00:20:26.840where he just quietly but bravely gets major work done.
00:20:31.020But for some reason, people haven't been paying attention to him.
00:20:34.180He is much shyer or more reserved than a lot of justices are.
00:20:38.020but he's just delivered win after win for people who do believe that America should adhere to its
00:20:44.960founding ideals. And so I thought it was important. Like I wanted to know more about him and I'm so
00:20:49.200glad that so many other people want to know about him too. I think it's just great.
00:20:54.600Well, one of the things that I've, I've heard and, and, you know, I'm sure the book delves
00:20:59.060into this. And by the way, I, I got to throw it out there as a fellow Philly area, conservative
00:21:04.660Catholic, just like Sam Alito. I've always felt a sort of, you know, wavelength there because,
00:21:10.520you know, there's not a lot of us, but when you get one, we're really good. Walk us through,
00:21:15.280though, sort of the role that he plays on the court because, you know, people look to Clarence
00:21:19.800Thomas so much as this, you know, figurehead for conservatism. People call it the Thomas Court.
00:21:25.820What would you say the role Sam Alito has? It may not be his high profile, but it's actually very
00:21:30.600key. So I just have to first off point out that Justice Alito thinks that his love of the Phillies
00:21:37.420explains a bit about his personality. He says if you're always rooting for a winning team that
00:21:41.920just delivers victories, like if you're a Yankees fan, you have a much less interesting personality
00:21:46.000and you're not able to endure bad times as well as if you're a Phillies fan. No, I have said this
00:21:51.580a million times. I've literally said this a million times. And because the Eagles have won a couple of
00:21:57.200Super Bowls now, since my kids have been alive, I've always said that, I said, you guys are like,
00:22:02.640this isn't fair, right? You know, you need to learn to love the taste of dirt before you can
00:22:07.900actually call yourselves an Eagles fan or a Phillies fan. I love it. But as for how he compares
00:22:12.560with Thomas, you know, they agree so much of the time, almost always they're on the same side of
00:22:17.200a decision. But whereas Justice Thomas is, like Justice Scalia, incredibly theoretical, thinking
00:22:23.400about the philosophy underlying issues, Justice Alito is more practical. And Justice Thomas,
00:22:31.000he'll say, well, here's what the court should be saying. We should have this position.
00:22:35.440And Justice Alito will think, well, I agree with that. But he cobbles together that majority that
00:22:41.260can get you on the road to getting to that final place that Justice Thomas would like to see people
00:22:47.140taking a certain issue, whether it's gun rights or freedom of speech or freedom of religion.
00:22:51.680They work well together because they have these different strengths, but they are quite different in their approach.
00:22:58.400Right. And so his approach has been a little bit more in terms of, if I understand correctly, actually bringing the conservative justices together, which which may be partly or or even singularly why he was the one that ended up writing the majority opinion in this latest Louisiana ruling.
00:23:15.200Well, he got a broad, broad group together. It was a 6-3 decision. And you look at what Thomas
00:23:21.100wrote in his concurrence. He's, you know, he had a much more pure and extreme, if you can say it
00:23:26.820that way, approach to how people should view the Voting Rights Act. I think a lot of people actually
00:23:31.760agree with him. But if he had had that, if he were authoring it, he would only have had two to three
00:23:37.200people. Again, Alito's able to build those coalitions. It's also why he authored the Dobbs
00:23:42.780decision. It had been a goal of the pro-life movement and conservative legal movement for 50
00:23:47.620years to overturn Roe v. Wade. Every time the court had gotten close, that majority would crumble.
00:23:53.100And so you needed to have someone who would hold together that majority
00:23:56.800through unbelievable pressure. And I don't think they realized
00:24:00.200how bad the pressure would get, but it held together.
00:24:04.580You know, since you mentioned Dobbs, was there any indication as you were doing the research for this
00:24:10.480or, you know, just interviews, et cetera, as to how the actual leak of the Dobbs decision took
00:24:17.580place? So, Jack, a big part of the book, I look at that leak, what happened inside the court,
00:24:22.420behind the scenes, what happened with the investigation. And it was really interesting
00:24:27.160to me how nobody praised the investigation. They all thought it was weak. They thought that the
00:24:32.260marshal investigating it didn't really understand who had access, where they have access, and didn't
00:24:37.760Ask the kinds of questions that should have been asked.
00:24:40.400So instead of saying to these people, do you know the author of this piece?
00:25:02.080That's not how a thorough investigation should have been conducted.
00:25:04.980And you're seeing additional leaks from the court now, including recently there were some leaks attempting to go after Chief Justice John Roberts.
00:25:13.780So he maybe should have done a better job conducting that investigation in the first place.
00:25:19.300Yeah, I mean, look, when I was in the intelligence community, I was in not the subject, but in a variety of situations where people were asking about leaks.
00:25:30.900And when a leak investigation over there gets serious, they break out the polygraphs.
00:26:00.500And the thing about that leak is that it really hurt the relationships on the court.
00:26:06.180People felt they couldn't trust each other.
00:26:08.100Nobody thought it was an actual justice who leaked, but they did think that someone's clerk, you know, one of the justice clerks probably did it.
00:26:15.860A few people thought maybe there was a permanent staff member who might have done it.
00:26:19.620But until that person comes forward, we probably won't know.
00:26:23.180Certainly people have their suspicions on on inside the court.
00:31:36.600And because the corporate media were part of this conspiracy theory perpetuation, they're
00:31:42.800never going to be honest about how damaging and serious it was and the need for accountability.
00:31:47.880But I really think the country, it needs to hold these people accountable.
00:31:52.220And not just with the Russia collusion hoax, but also with what they did to people during
00:31:56.780the COVID pandemic aftermath, when they had the government silence people from free and
00:32:02.020open debate and they hid their involvement in what became this global pandemic. These are really
00:32:09.040serious crimes and they have to be taken seriously. And we don't have a corporate media
00:32:13.420that is applying pressure because they're guilty as well. Well, no. And Molly, actually, one thing
00:32:20.220we were chatting about this in the show open today, but I'm currently working on compiling
00:32:25.660a searchable um archive of cole thomas allen's tweets so many of them are in the archive but
00:32:32.740the way the wayback machine works is you have to click each link so it makes it very cumbersome but
00:32:37.500as we've been going through this and i think we're up to um i think we're up to june of 2024 so just
00:32:42.980before the butler assassination attempt but one of the things that jumps right off the page uh as
00:32:49.060human events and our team are working on this is that this was a full-on believer in the russi
00:32:53.880gate conspiracy theory. He was a full on believer in Russia collusion. He referenced it over and
00:32:58.880over and over, almost on a seemingly daily basis. So, I mean, you have a direct tie right there.
00:33:05.780Well, I saw Chuck Todd earlier this week say that he didn't feel safe going to an event that
00:33:12.420Trump was at. And I thought about this. Chuck Todd every day on his TV show pushed the Russia
00:33:19.080collusion hoax. If he had a Republican guest on, he'd make them denounce Trump and Russia.
00:33:23.880And he did it day after day after day.
00:33:26.060Then you have this attempted assassin who believes Chuck Todd, who believes the New York Times, Washington Post, Atlantic Monthly, CNN, MSNBC.
00:33:36.520He wasn't saying anything that they weren't saying.
00:33:39.400He got his feelings and thoughts from them.
00:33:43.680And I thought that was what was so chilling about this guy is when he wrote his note to his family.
00:33:48.780He was just sounding like, frankly, my liberal friends from high school on Facebook where I read their notes and I'm like, oh, this person does not seem to be totally attached to reality.
00:33:59.220Or they sounded like what you hear on Jake Tapper's show.
00:34:02.740You saw a poll recently that half of Democrats don't believe that their people's previous attempts on President Trump's lives were real.
00:34:13.880You have people who died in some of the left's assassination attempts, not just against Trump when Clark Comparatory was killed, but also, you know, when they killed Charlie Kirk.
00:34:23.380These are this is very serious. They're doing it and then denying that it's being done. It's crazy.
00:34:29.820And, Molly, we don't have all the the archives set up for this just yet.
00:34:33.700But what my guys tell me is that Cole Thomas Allen himself subscribed to the theory that Butler was staged.
00:34:41.240So, I mean, this is just it's it's it's a level of meta reality where here's a guy who doesn't actually he believed the conspiracy theory, which, by the way, Chris Ray played a role.
00:34:53.760And when when I put out the book about Butler, that we talked about that at length, that, oh, it was it was shrapnel, that he wasn't actually hit, you know, that, you know, even though we have pictures of the bullet that, you know, that are heading right towards his ear.
00:35:07.740Chris Ray himself played a role in spreading that conspiracy theory, not that it was staged, but the angle of it that perhaps he hadn't actually been hit by a bullet, which was very adjacent to the, you know, Butler was staged conspiracy theory.
00:35:20.700I have some sources, you know, FBI related sources who said that when Chris Ray said that, they were actually glad that people saw that he's as partisan and nefarious as they seem to think he was.
00:35:34.560We all know that Comey lies. We all have seen it. We've you know, it's beyond a shadow of a doubt.
00:35:40.520Anybody who's analyzing the facts has seen how he's slippery and deceptive.
00:35:46.780But I think Chris Wray was able to craft that he was somehow nonpartisan for a longer period of time.
00:35:54.420But between so many things he was doing, people realized that he had some issues as well.
00:36:03.180And with Comey, I mean, you know, one of the great examples I could think of is this,
00:36:06.940is that, you know, if you go and take a picture of some seashells on the beach
00:36:11.240and then blame it on your wife or blame it on just finding them,
00:36:14.860But then in the immediate previous picture on your Instagram, it's you sitting and reading your book next to those very same seashells.
00:36:22.840It's I mean, the guy has never been able to keep a straight story on anything, seemingly.
00:36:29.440And to your point, just writ large, it's obvious that so many people wanted to see accountability.
00:36:35.160That's why President Trump was reelected.
00:36:37.960I, you know, I think that it played a huge role in 2024.
00:36:40.760The, you know, these false ginned up indictments against him.
00:36:43.480And that's why, ladies and gentlemen, you need to go out and get Molly's new book on Sam Alito, someone who is showing us from a legal perspective how we can write the ship.
00:36:54.840Molly, tell us again how we can get the book.
00:36:56.600Well, my book, Alito, which I just found out, made the bestseller list, which I'm very happy about.
00:37:02.080It means that other people are interested in him.
00:37:04.060You can get him anywhere books are sold, Amazon, Barnes & Noble.
00:38:49.300Our younger generations face growing inflation and fewer opportunities.
00:38:53.220And we cannot afford two more years of go-along to get along.
00:38:57.820That's what we have right now in our second congressional district here in Utah, and that's why I'm running.
00:39:03.320well it's that's incredible to see tell us when when you're out there talking to folks
00:39:10.120in the district when you're out there when you're you're talking to voters meeting with voters what
00:39:14.560are some of the top issues that you have on we just had a pollster on who was telling us that
00:39:19.020you know really hearing a lot of economy and jobs but there's also this question about
00:39:22.620accountability you know is that tracking with what you're seeing in the field or are there
00:39:26.340other things that pop up? I am seeing so many comments about the corruption that we see in DC
00:39:34.220at every level and the concern over that. And that actually surprised me. I thought the economy
00:39:39.780would be higher and top of mind on most voters' minds. And it's just the corruption. They see
00:39:47.540this gridlock and not being able to get anything done at the federal level to really answer
00:39:53.080the issues that Americans are facing, just normal everyday people who are affected by the price of
00:40:00.440milk at the grocery store. And yet they see individuals in Congress who seem completely
00:40:06.620disconnected from those concerns. You know, that's amazing you say that because that's exactly,
00:40:13.020I mean, we were just talking about James Comey on here. We've been talking about some other,
00:40:18.320arrests and prosecutions that are taking place. Comey may also now be facing, as we've just heard
00:40:24.580in the last couple of minutes, more charges when it comes to leaking of classified documents.
00:40:29.820And I think that, you know, I was just chatting about some folks that, you know, friends of mine,
00:40:35.560Pennsylvania guys who are saying the same thing. They're saying we, you know, we came in with
00:40:40.480President Trump and we got on board saying we want to see that accountability. We feel that we got,
00:40:45.700you know, a raw deal, whether it's COVID or whether it's the economy, the Biden inflation,
00:40:50.780all these other things. And people want to see that level of accountability.
00:40:56.540Yeah. And what we see is just continued omnibus, minibus bills, right? No
00:41:01.760clean appropriations bills, no budget that is proposed.
00:41:06.480And Carrie Ann, pardon me, just very quickly, I'm told the president is now live in the Oval
00:41:12.860office. So we're going to throw to that over on the network side. We're going to take that live.
00:41:18.680Earlier this year, I promised to make the same types of retirement accounts enjoyed
00:41:23.340by the federal employees available to all Americans. So that's what we're doing.
00:41:29.020It always seemed fair. It's a tremendous, really a tremendous situation for all Americans. That
00:41:35.620was really much promises made. As I say, promises kept. I'm thrilled to be joined by incredible
00:41:42.180people that i know and the warriors jason smith these are congress people brian style mike gary
00:41:50.800lloyd smucker bill heisinger ryan mckenzie john mcguire zach nunn garrick van orden all right we're
00:41:58.860back here with uh carry on let's only um coming up there and we've had the president he has a new
00:42:04.780executive order all about uh retirement accounts so he's taking that but i didn't want to i didn't
00:42:10.660want to shortchange you there too much. It just so happens the president, for whatever reason,
00:42:15.180he likes to go live during the program. What can I do? Well, that's very exciting. And I appreciate
00:42:21.160the work on retirement accounts. I'm concerned about where Social Security is at right now over
00:42:26.520the last six years. As my opponent has been in office, the unfunded liabilities within Social
00:42:33.560Security have almost doubled in six years. So lots of concern around what Americans are going to do
00:42:40.240as they age in the coming years and what Congress will do.
00:42:46.040No, I think that's absolutely correct.
00:42:49.300You know, speaking of accountability, you know, I'd be remiss if I didn't say that,
00:42:53.500you know, one of the stories that we cover on this program, of course, and may actually
00:42:59.600be taking us out to Utah here in, you know, a couple of weeks is the Tyler Robinson trial.
00:43:08.700Well, the trial hasn't actually started yet, but the preliminary hearing will be in a couple of weeks when that happening in such close proximity relatively to your district and something obviously happened in Utah.
00:43:21.580Would you say that having something as horrific as that, as impactful as that, obviously international global news taking place so close to home, has that resonated with the district?
00:43:33.760Is it something that you hear people come up or are they following this?
00:43:36.920Absolutely. And it was heartbreaking when it happened. I actually held a vigil the very night after Charlie was shot and killed at UVU campus. And I say, look, throw the book at Tyler Robinson. The left needs to understand there are consequences to their ongoing political violence.
00:43:58.840well and and and here we had another one i don't know if you want to call it a copycat or what
00:44:06.180just a couple of days later you know a couple excuse me a couple of days ago at the white house
00:44:11.960correspondence dinner and unfortunately as the people of utah found out firsthand that this
00:44:18.760is not going away it unfortunately has become a trend and and you know we've heard college
00:44:26.060Republicans on campuses saying they're afraid. They're afraid to speak their mind. And we want
00:44:32.260viewpoint diversity. That's what higher ed is all about. And yet we have this environment that
00:44:38.420the left has created where speech is not protected and it's not respected. And we have to get back to
00:44:45.960the America where we can agree, where we can disagree with respect, with cordiality, and with
00:44:51.920civility and not be afraid that we're going to get shot for it.
00:44:57.180And I couldn't agree more. You know, this is something where it's a straight line. It's a
00:45:04.120straight line between what Charlie was doing on campus or, you know, a group of people who are
00:45:11.320gathered to celebrate the First Amendment, the press, freedom of the press, freedom of speech.
00:45:15.720these are the bedrocks of our society it's it's bigger even than individuals because it's it's
00:45:23.180it's not just about charlie kirk or president donald trump it's actually about who we are as
00:45:29.280americans do we believe in this system where we work things out by speech by dialogue by debate
00:45:36.360and by voting or do we refuse that and go and try these other methods that's why it's so corrosive
00:45:45.260And I've said from the long time, from the start, from absolutely the start, whatever the highest penalty is, throw the book exactly as you said, and obviously we see how the trial's been playing out, that they are working their way through and doing everything they have to do to make sure that this is held up as an example of something that we can never, ever see again.
00:46:07.400yes and that's why i'm so grateful for you for all the media outlets who are out there
00:46:14.260talking about the truth about what's happening in america giving americans an outlet to really
00:46:20.380listen and understand about the issues of their day thank you i think i appreciate that and then
00:46:26.300please you know it's uh you know i just try to try to call it like i see it and try to try to do
00:46:30.900the right thing every day uh carry and tell us where we can go tell everyone where they can go
00:46:35.160to find more information about you, about the race, and if they want to get involved.
00:46:39.640Great. Thank you. Please check out my social media. Also, votecarianne.com.
