00:00:52.300 New developments in President Trump's on-again, off-again trade war with China.
00:00:56.280 On Monday, Trump signed an executive order to delay steep reciprocal tariffs on Chinese products for at least another 90 days.
00:01:04.480 Now, this gives the two countries time to work on a long-term trade deal.
00:01:09.180 U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods will remain at 30%, while China says it will maintain a 10% levy on U.S. products.
00:01:16.660 The key thing about gold is it just absolutely loved Mr. Trump.
00:01:20.760 The gold market, and you saw just one of those other nuances, the potential for the tariffs, which was kind of silly, but now we're seeing it's not going to happen in gold.
00:01:28.520 The bottom line for gold is the nuances of Mr. Trump are nothing but good.
00:01:33.220 Following an unprecedented order from President Trump, hundreds of National Guard troops are expected on the streets of Washington, D.C., beginning today, according to a White House official, to crack down on crime.
00:01:45.360 We're declaring public safety emergency in the District of Columbia.
00:01:50.340 The president deploying the Guard and taking federal control over the D.C. Police Department for up to 30 days without congressional approval, citing violent crimes like a recent attack on a former Doge employee during an attempted carjacking.
00:02:05.880 While announcing what he calls a crime crackdown in the nation's capital today, President Donald Trump also set his sights on Chicago.
00:02:12.480 He says we are next when it comes to National Guard deployment, and he wants to end the no-cash bail policy.
00:02:18.900 Days before he meets with Russia's president for what President Trump calls a feel-out meeting seeking to end the war in Ukraine, the leader of the free world seeming to make concessions on Ukraine's behalf.
00:02:29.080 There will be some land swapping going on. I know that through Russia and through conversations with everybody to the good, for the good of Ukraine. Good stuff, not bad stuff. Also, some bad stuff for both.
00:02:42.760 Ceding territory to Russia is something Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has long rejected.
00:02:48.760 Russia's desires to rule over Ukrainian territories will remain just desires as long as Ukrainians stand shoulder to shoulder helping the army and helping the state. 0.51
00:02:59.080 All right, Jack Posobiec, here we are back. Human Events Daily. A little bit of a truncated show today. A lot going on. Complicated business behind the scenes here at Human Events Daily.
00:03:11.420 Working on a few things that will be made public at the appropriate time.
00:03:17.720 But here's something that President Trump made public just yesterday with the Truth Social Post that he put up for the entire world to see.
00:03:27.180 And he talked about gold and he talked about the fact that there will be no tariffs on gold.
00:03:34.420 He put up the Truth Social Post. And folks, think about it.
00:03:37.160 When you think of Trump, right, Donald Trump, you think of gold. It's almost synonymous. It's his hotels. It's his penthouse. It's all of the things that he's put together.
00:03:52.300 It's almost synonymous with gold itself. And so the fact that he's tying all of these new economic programs to no tariffs on gold and thought it was important enough to raise to the level of public awareness is something that we should all be focusing on.
00:04:09.760 And so in order to do so, I said we got to get Alex Vkarian on from Allegiance Gold to walk us through all of this. Alex, how are you?
00:04:18.200 I'm well, thanks. How are you, Jack?
00:04:21.940 I'm doing great. So, Alex, what does it mean? What does it mean when President Trump says that there will be no tariffs on gold?
00:04:29.940 How does this affect the market and why is he excluding this precious metal?
00:04:34.660 Well, when you think about President Trump, as you mentioned, let's reference the number of gold scenarios that he utilized from the Golden Age, the Golden Dome, the gold standard science to the gold decor that he has in his office.
00:04:52.560 He even appointed a Treasury secretary that was also labeled as a gold bug, especially when he was managing the Soros Fund.
00:05:00.220 So coming back to your question, the media played it off that this was a misinformation.
00:05:07.660 As a matter of fact, the way I think about President Trump, I think this was a deliberate strategic move.
00:05:13.160 And here's why. Three takeaways that I learned and I studied this.
00:05:17.820 Number one, he wanted to see the market reaction because Thursday is when the news broke, right?
00:05:24.700 Thirty-nine percent tariff on gold imported from Switzerland, one kilo bar and hundred ounces.
00:05:32.460 Nothing occurred on Friday. There was a little bit of a signaling.
00:05:35.580 But in the last three days, the media was mute.
00:05:38.920 And then all of a sudden, President Trump on his Truth Social tweeted his actual position.
00:05:44.720 Now, why is this important?
00:05:46.040 We got to understand the backdrop of this.
00:05:48.140 In the last three years, we've seen an influx of gold imports from Switzerland.
00:05:54.420 Once you understand the numbers, you understand the reasoning behind this strategic chess position.
00:06:00.280 In 2023, we've imported about 6.1 billion.
00:06:05.120 2024, doubled that about 11 billion.
00:06:08.720 During the first six months of the year, we've imported about 39.2 billion Swiss franc, almost four times that.
00:06:16.620 And obviously, Switzerland is one of the valves of the gold refineries.
00:06:22.760 So half of the imports came from Switzerland.
00:06:25.400 So the first reaction that President Trump was looking, in my opinion, is to understand where is the pressure points, okay?
00:06:32.920 So that's very much of a valuable intel.
00:06:36.440 The second thing was to signal both to allies and to our adversaries.
00:06:42.240 I think last time on the show, we talked about the BRICS nation.
00:06:44.580 We talked about how central banks have been de-dollarizing and minimizing the utilization of dollar as an alternative and going into gold.
00:06:53.060 So what President Trump basically said in a very simple way is that, look, we're watching the gold game that you're playing.
00:07:01.820 And you're not going to have it easy.
00:07:03.600 You're not going to have this tariff-free pass.
00:07:07.000 And speaking about tariff, I mean, look at earlier this week.
00:07:09.580 We got this brilliant reverse tariff on the two largest chip makers, NVIDIA and AMD.
00:07:17.580 So the way I think about this is the messaging and the signaling.
00:07:21.920 Now, to Switzerland, we basically said, hold on a second.
00:07:25.480 And we know that you're the largest refiner, but make no mistake, at some point, we might have to go back to the negotiating table.
00:07:34.960 And domestically, his message was very clear.
00:07:37.820 I'm not anti-gold, okay?
00:07:40.720 But I may use it as a bargaining chip at some point.
00:07:43.900 So in a nutshell, what does this mean?
00:07:45.240 When the U.S., the largest, the most important country in the world, talks about gold, the world pays attention.
00:07:53.880 And what we're seeing is that, overall, demand is gradually growing.
00:07:59.360 Yes, gold went up all the way up to $3,500 overnight on Thursday night, and now it leveled off.
00:08:05.500 So in a nutshell, the three takeaways is this is not a surprise.
00:08:10.520 This is not labeled misinformation.
00:08:12.300 This is strategic positioning, and we've seen President Trump utilize that over and over, specifically in his second term.
00:08:21.080 So taking a look at that, and of course, we've seen the rise of precious metals throughout the entire scope of what President Trump has accomplished since coming back to office in January.
00:08:32.940 How does China play into all of this?
00:08:36.840 Okay.
00:08:37.820 Well, China, obviously, is leading the BRICS nation.
00:08:41.220 If we go back five years, they used to have about $1.3 trillion in U.S. Treasury bonds.
00:08:48.820 Gradually, they've been dropping that.
00:08:50.820 Right now, it's about $780 billion.
00:08:53.820 What have they been doing?
00:08:55.380 Alternatively, they've been buying more gold.
00:08:58.700 But you have to understand the psyche of the BRICS nation, and specifically China.
00:09:03.220 China is the world number one gold producer and yet importer.
00:09:08.200 Russia is the second largest gold producer.
00:09:10.420 Their frustration is, well, we're the ones who are producing this.
00:09:15.100 Why should we let the West, the COMEX market, which the future contracts brings in, it's the largest future gold contract, about $500 billion.
00:09:24.440 Why should we let the West control the price discovery when we are the producers?
00:09:28.620 So here's what China is doing in the background.
00:09:31.540 Strategically, we just delayed another tariff to November 9th.
00:09:36.860 We're still doing a lot of the negotiations.
00:09:38.980 And President Trump alluded that there's been some progress.
00:09:41.500 So in the background, China's action is much louder than what they're saying.
00:09:49.080 Gold is increasing.
00:09:51.180 U.S. Treasury dependency is dropping.
00:09:54.200 And that's a problem for us down the line because they also have their Shanghai exchange.
00:09:59.880 Here in the U.S., we have the COMEX.
00:10:02.280 The second one is the London bullion market.
00:10:04.320 But gold is migrating from West to East.
00:10:09.320 Their intention is not only do we want to control the product, but we also want to be the players that set the price as opposed to depending on the U.S.
00:10:17.820 And that's just like the CCP all over.
00:10:22.400 They don't want to just run the game.
00:10:24.560 They want to run the entire house.
00:10:27.580 You know, and what do you say to people then who say, well, you know, I hear you, but I'll wait for gold to go down before I get involved.
00:10:36.020 Oh, I've been hearing that for the past five years.
00:10:38.760 We saw what occurred in 2020.
00:10:40.760 When gold hits 2000 in August 2020, a lot of people said, oh, this is the all-time high.
00:10:45.800 Look, gold is a strategic asset.
00:10:48.800 It's an actual way of wealth.
00:10:51.520 You're not looking at this to trade on a day in, day out.
00:10:54.960 Year-to-date, the dollar is down about 10%.
00:10:56.900 Gold is up 25%.
00:10:58.740 You have to understand how gold performed during President Trump first term.
00:11:03.420 It improved by about 53%.
00:11:05.620 The dollar has dropped.
00:11:07.140 Right now, we're in a fight with the Federal Reserve.
00:11:09.780 We have an ability to add a new governor, and we're in discussions to potentially lower the interest rates.
00:11:15.800 So, all roads are leading to gold.
00:11:19.520 Gold is not only about this protective asset that it's a hedge against inflation.
00:11:24.200 It's no longer just acting that.
00:11:26.440 Gold is not even acting as a safe haven asset because economically we don't have any major setbacks.
00:11:31.720 So, for folks that are considering, by looking at their statement and measuring their wealth only in terms of dollars, they're missing out.
00:11:40.200 Gold is a great diversifier against economic uncertainties, against anything to do with the currency and the market in general.
00:11:47.440 So, don't think about gold as this archaic way of an asset that is not doing anything.
00:11:53.020 Think about how can I position myself similar to central banks?
00:11:56.780 Why is it that President Trump is giving you the hint?
00:12:00.520 Why is he utilizing the word golden, golden, golden, golden in every other scenario that he has?
00:12:05.280 The golden age, right?
00:12:06.640 The golden age.
00:12:07.840 And by the way, I'll throw it out for folks who want to get any info.
00:12:11.740 You can get a lot of offers as well.
