00:00:00.000 Hey guys, it's Jack. I wanted to let you know that we're starting a new push for subscriptions
00:00:06.860 here on Human Events Daily. So make sure that when you're listening to this podcast, you
00:00:11.980 hit subscribe, you download it, and you share it with five of your friends. Make sure they're
00:00:17.420 all going and downloading as well, because we need to get the signal out as much as possible.
00:00:22.660 Look, we've done so much over the past couple of years since this show started, and we're
00:00:26.840 only going to do so much more. Let's get it.
00:00:34.160 This is what happens when the fourth turning meets fifth generation warfare.
00:00:43.260 A commentator, international social media sensation, and former Navy intelligence veteran.
00:00:49.960 This is Human Events with your host, Jack Posobiec.
00:00:52.980 Christ is king.
00:00:56.840 All right, folks, Jack Posobiec, we are here, Human Events Daily, with the funeral of Lindsey Graham.
00:01:07.380 This is taking underway at the Washington National Cathedral.
00:01:11.120 Of course, you can see the president and vice president there, front row.
00:01:16.420 We're on their feed, and of course, other members of the cabinet are in attendance.
00:01:24.100 We see Doug Burgum, we see Marco Rubio as well, who are there with the president, DHS
00:01:32.780 secretary, Mark Wayne Mullen, just behind.
00:01:37.600 And guys, do we have audio?
00:01:40.240 Do we have audio of this?
00:01:42.520 I would like to get the audio up if there is music.
00:01:46.740 All right, there we go.
00:01:47.560 and a number of dignitaries
00:01:51.820 all in attendance for this funeral
00:01:56.320 not just from our country
00:02:00.700 not just national dignitaries
00:02:02.320 Secretary Scott Besant as well
00:02:03.920 but international as well
00:02:05.720 we saw the president with Prime Minister Netanyahu
00:02:10.660 as well as President Zelensky of Ukraine
00:02:16.060 And now you see there's Eric Trump, Laura Trump, members of the family, Steve Witkoff, special envoy, Susie Wiles, the White House chief of staff.
00:02:29.360 And of course, so much of this is predicated on foreign policy.
00:02:33.660 And Lindsey Graham, agree with him or not, he made foreign policy very much the forefront of certainly the later years of his career.
00:02:46.760 He made this front and center.
00:02:49.120 Many people remember him from a variety of things, but certainly foreign policy was his calling card, was a hallmark of anything involving Lindsey Graham and so much of the things that he pushed for.
00:03:04.500 And so much of the things, of course, that we see in the news today certainly revolve around things that he pushed for as well.
00:03:12.280 And so to say that he was a man without impact or without note would be completely incorrect.
00:03:21.660 And like him or not, Lindsey Graham left his mark on the world.
00:03:26.840 And agree or disagree, you cannot deny or ignore the impact that Lindsey Graham has left on the world.
00:03:36.400 And so, of course, we're seeing there the front row, senior staff of the administration, members of the president's family, all awaiting the service to begin.
00:03:52.420 It is expected to begin in just a few moments here.
00:04:06.400 And this really is just a remarkable moment for the country, a remarkable moment for the president, a remarkable moment for the world as Lindsey Graham, Senator of South Carolina, is laid to rest.
00:04:28.100 This is, of course, the same Washington National Cathedral where at the President's inaugural prayer service, which I was in attendance with, along with the vice president and members, many of the members of the incoming cabinet, some of whom hadn't even been, I believe at that point, had been confirmed, where the bishopess gave her a homily where she was quite critical of the president there in the incoming administration.
00:04:58.100 So this service being offered in celebration of and in thanksgiving for the life of Lindsay Olin Graham, July 9th, 1955 to July 11th, 2026.
00:05:11.200 And a number of speakers are expected to pay tribute.
00:05:17.620 Of course, the President of the United States will be delivering a eulogy.
00:05:21.680 And of course, we will cover that for you.
00:05:23.320 There are a few anthems, a few tributes prior to that prayers, of course.
00:05:32.920 The very Reverend Randolph Marshall Hollerith will be conducting the reception of the body.
00:05:40.660 The Reverend Tim Tate, senior pastor from Korth Baptist Church out of Seneca, South Carolina, will also be conducting the reception.
00:05:51.480 So you're going to see the service play out.
00:05:53.720 There's going to be a number of anthems.
00:05:55.720 There's going to be a number of hymns.
00:05:57.320 How Great Thou Art is on the list.
00:05:59.500 And the president will give his tribute.
00:06:02.580 There'll be Cathedral Choir.
00:06:05.300 Then there's going to be a tribute from Sean Hannity.
00:06:08.640 Of course, a close friend and ally of Lindsey Graham.
00:06:12.540 And then another tribute by Emile Roberts.
00:06:15.940 We'll also be giving a tribute.
00:06:17.600 We're going to also hear a reading with Reverend Tony Perkins, expected to do the first reading.
00:06:24.960 Then a psalm from Marjorie Jones Dannenfelser, of course, from the Susan B. Anthony List, a very strong pro-life leader.
00:06:34.680 And then the second reading will be done by Reverend William Franklin III.
00:06:41.940 You hear the music there.
00:06:47.600 Oh, my soul, I say, what wonder sound is this that does honor a place to ever tread or curse,
00:07:08.940 for my soul, for my soul To love a dreadful tax for my soul
00:07:26.220 When I was sinking down, sinking down, sinking down
00:07:37.340 And we're now seeing Lindsey Graham's sister and members of the family in attendance.
00:07:52.640 That's Darlene Graham.
00:07:54.820 She is currently the United States Senator from South Carolina and was appointed in the
00:08:03.240 wake of her brother's passing.
00:08:06.360 She is, of course, expected to be seeking the full term or to serve out the term in its full capacity.
00:08:15.420 First female senator from South Carolina and other dignitaries that we're going to be looking for, of course.
00:08:24.400 We know, I mentioned before, Bibi Netanyahu, his wife, Vladimir Zelensky, his wife.
00:08:35.600 To the land, I receive, I receive.
00:08:43.600 To the land, to the land, who is the dream I am.
00:08:54.600 My millions, I believe, I receive, I receive, I receive, my millions, I give, I receive.
00:09:17.600 And when the devil free us in dawn I see eyes
00:09:28.720 And when the devil free us in dawn
00:09:38.560 And then the devil in fear I'll sing, enjoy me.
00:09:47.560 I'll send glory to me, dear.
00:09:53.560 I sing all, I sing, all,
00:09:58.180 And through it may be time.
00:10:03.020 Oh, a singing bolt,
00:10:07.940 What wonder swall is this,
00:10:14.100 O my soul,
00:10:19.040 The darkness that is this, O my soul, I sing of all.
00:10:36.040 And through eternity I sing along.
00:11:02.040 A shout there on the president, you can actually see Zelensky
00:11:05.040 Jesus Christ, we receive the body of our brother, Lindsay Olin Graham.
00:11:10.680 He rose behind the president.
00:11:13.080 Let us pray with confidence to God, the giver of life,
00:11:17.300 that he will raise him to perfection in the company of the saints.
00:11:22.620 Deliver your servant, Lindsay, O sovereign Lord Christ, from all evil,
00:11:27.080 and set him free from every bond,
00:11:30.140 that he may rest with all your saints in the eternal habitations.
00:11:35.040 where with the father and the holy spirit you live and reign one god forever and ever amen
00:11:46.960 let us also pray for all who mourn that they may cast their care on god
00:11:54.720 and know the consolation of his love almighty god look with pity upon the sorrows of your servants
00:12:05.040 For whom we pray, remember them, Lord, in mercy, nourish them in patience, comfort them with a sense of your goodness, lift up your countenance upon them and give them peace through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
00:12:35.040 you can see zelinski there we've also got some reports that iranian opposition leader
00:12:44.820 reza palavi may be in attendance um i'm seeing that again in some reports haven't seen him
00:12:53.480 myself directly there but uh he tweeted reza palavi did actually tweet out that he would
00:13:01.160 be in attendance. So he is expected to attend. And of course, the former crown prince, the
00:13:11.760 eldest son of the Shah. There, as many of us, many around the world are asking, what
00:13:20.800 is
00:13:21.400 next with Iran 1.00
00:13:26.460 son of the Shah
00:13:29.900 they're in attendance
00:13:31.840 the Shah of Persia
00:13:32.760 they are in attendance
00:13:33.640 at the state funeral
00:13:36.940 Senator Lindsey Graham
00:13:38.440 a senator
00:13:38.920 of the United States
00:13:40.980 a senator
00:13:41.600 of
00:13:42.640 South Carolina
00:13:45.200 Of course, the procession now getting underway.
00:14:08.280 and we can see more dignitaries
00:14:13.740 and I believe that's the
00:14:15.080 I believe that's the casket now
00:14:17.740 being brought in
00:14:32.380 and there it is
00:14:33.380 members of the military
00:14:38.100 I think that's maybe every branch of the military.
00:14:42.660 I see army.
00:14:44.660 I am resurrection and I am life, says the Lord.
00:14:48.860 Whoever has faith in me shall have life, even though he die.
00:14:54.460 And everyone who has life and has committed himself to me in faith shall not die forever.
00:15:00.920 As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and that at the last He will stand upon the earth.
00:15:10.240 After my awaking, He will raise me up, and in my body I shall see God.
00:15:17.020 I myself shall see, and my eyes behold Him, who is my friend and not a stranger.
00:15:25.040 For none of us has life in Himself, and none becomes His own master when He dies.
00:15:30.920 For if we have life, we are alive in the Lord, and if we die, we die in the Lord.
00:15:38.960 So then, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's possession.
00:15:45.700 Happy from now on are those who die in the Lord, so it is, says the Spirit, for they rest from their labors.
00:16:00.920 Thank you.
00:16:30.920 Folks, I want to bring in now we have Katie Zachariah, of course, joining us.
00:16:59.500 She is the senior comms advisor for Trump Media and Technology Group with True Social, also a former spokeswoman for DHS.
00:17:07.340 And Katie, you know, we're watching, of course, this play out here, and it really goes to show that President Trump, I think this is almost more than just Senator Lindsey Graham.
00:17:19.780 It's about the nation.
00:17:21.700 It's actually about the nation we all serve.
00:17:26.460 Absolutely, Jack.
00:17:27.300 you can see the somber and really, I don't want to say forlorn, but the reality that death brings
00:17:35.520 is it reminds us each of our own mortality here. And Lindsey Graham really served our nation so
00:17:41.680 well. He was such a staunch ally to President Trump. When there are very few senators who are
00:17:48.100 a phone call away and jump into action, he was absolutely one of them. And I know President
00:17:53.400 Trump and those present are going to miss having such a great ally.
00:17:59.620 And I think that's right.
00:18:00.840 Let's listen as they're opening it up here.
00:18:05.080 That he now rests in the life hereafter.
00:18:09.140 Let us pray today that God's love and peace may abide with him this day and forevermore.
00:18:16.840 Now would you join with me as we give praise to God and sing how great thou art.
00:18:23.400 Thank you.
00:18:53.400 Thank you.
00:19:23.400 Thank you.
00:19:53.400 Thank you.
00:20:23.400 Thank you.
00:20:53.400 Thank you.
00:21:23.400 Thank you.
00:21:53.400 Thank you.
00:22:23.400 CHOIR SINGS
00:22:53.400 Thank you.
00:23:23.400 Thank you.
00:23:53.400 ¶¶
00:24:23.400 Incredibly moving
00:24:49.620 rendition of how great they were
00:24:53.100 now the President of the United States
00:24:54.900 takes the lectern
00:24:57.340 a tribute to his friend Lindsey Graham
00:25:01.180 Thank you very much
00:25:02.380 Vice President Vance
00:25:04.980 members of the Cabinet
00:25:06.940 members of the House
00:25:09.140 and Senate, distinguished guests
00:25:11.540 Darlene
00:25:12.880 and the entire
00:25:14.960 Graham family
00:25:16.520 we love you all
00:25:18.720 Today we gather in the deepest gratitude and profoundest sorrow to honor a beloved friend, a devoted brother, a respected statesman, a giant of the United States Senate, and a true American original who left us much too soon.
00:25:41.200 and that can only be the one and only lindsey graham by the strength of his steadfast convictions
00:25:52.020 the force of his magnetic personality and the goodness of his noble soul lindsey rose from a
00:25:59.700 small town in rural south carolina place he loves so much to become a constant fixture of american
00:26:08.340 politics at the highest level and a force to be reckoned with all over the world for more than 30
00:26:15.660 years nothing of consequence happened in this capital without lindsey graham knowing about it
00:26:22.440 nothing of significance happened anywhere in the world without lindsey graham having a view on it
00:26:29.500 and no bill became law in the most exceptional republic in human history without lindsey graham 0.96
00:26:36.140 having a say in it. He was a man who gave America the full measure of his good and mighty heart
00:26:44.520 until that heart itself just gave out. But even though Lindsay's life was cut short while he was
00:26:54.780 still so full of vim and vigor, there can be no doubt that he lived absolutely to the fullest.
00:27:03.240 he died doing the work he was born to do he was truly a great politician serving the country he
00:27:11.140 loved to serve so deeply he went out at the peak of his career the top of his game as a legend that
00:27:20.540 every one of us many of us here today blessed to know him and a friend that none of us will ever
00:27:29.060 forget there was truly nobody like Lindsey Graham it was his hometown of
00:27:38.320 central South Carolina that Lindsey first learned the art of politics his 0.99
00:27:44.280 parents ran a bar and pool hall on Main Street with a room in the back where the
00:27:50.240 family spent and
00:27:53.380 to do as Lindsey said his father taught him the key to being a successful bar
00:28:00.580 owner is that you have to be funny enough that people will keep coming back
00:28:05.320 and that you have to be tough enough that you can stay in business and thrive a
00:28:10.840 very difficult combination for his entire storied career that's exactly who
00:28:17.380 Lindsey Graham was he was the first person to make you laugh and one of the
00:28:22.700 last people that you've really ever wanted to fight.
00:28:28.060 These were the traits that made him into one of the great figures in Senate history.
00:28:33.800 Few like him. 0.85
00:28:35.680 As a boy, Lindsey also learned his first lessons in diplomacy when the wife of one regular
00:28:41.340 patron called the bar asking for her husband.
00:28:45.940 She demanded to know where is he.
00:28:48.480 The man instructed Lindsay, tell her I'm not here.
00:28:52.740 And young Lindsay nodded and said into the phone to the wife, he said to tell you that
00:28:59.320 he's not here.
00:29:00.940 That was Lindsay.
00:29:03.740 When Lindsay was just 20 years old, he lost his mom to cancer.
00:29:07.860 Fifteen months later, he lost his dad.
00:29:10.480 Their deaths left his 13 year old sister, Darlene, an orphan.
00:29:16.360 in God's mercy, she had her wonderful brother to take care of her. On top of it all, Lindsay
00:29:22.300 became her guardian while still in college and helped raise her. He later said that for all his
00:29:28.820 achievements, and he had many, his single proudest accomplishment in life was how well Darlene
00:29:36.180 turned out. He had total respect and love for Darlene. Nothing could be more fitting than
00:29:44.720 And that woman, who was Lindsay's proudest legacy, now continues his legacy of service in the U.S. Senate, a place that he cherished.
00:29:55.680 And I have no doubt that he is looking down today, beaming with pride at his sister, Senator Darlene Graham.
00:30:05.540 Thank you, Senator.
00:30:06.360 lindsey first stormed into washington with the republican revolution of 1994 becoming the first
00:30:14.700 republican to win his house district in 120 years that was lindsey in 2002 he ran for the senate
00:30:24.460 in what should have been a loss and he swept to an easy victory lindsey quickly became a master
00:30:33.240 at maneuvering in one of the world's great legislative bodies. He secured record funding
00:30:39.560 for our military as a budget committee chairman. He delivered the largest investment in border
00:30:45.420 security and history. And last year, he shepherded the passage of the largest tax cuts in American
00:30:51.500 history, the great, big, beautiful bill. Had a lot of Lindsay goodies in there, too, I can tell you.
00:30:59.760 and of course he was also a great champion of the united states supreme court
00:31:04.760 his impassioned defense of a wonderful person a great gentleman justice kavanaugh ended a
00:31:14.540 disgraceful attack on this very good man and gave us one of the greatest moments the senate has ever
00:31:21.380 seen it was a truly monumental moment in senate history i believe it was lindsey's perhaps finest
00:31:30.820 hour but no matter how heated things got in washington virtually everyone republican or
00:31:38.100 democrat liked lindsey well not everybody but it sounds good not everybody he was a tough cookie
00:31:46.600 okay I have to be I have to veer from this first set he was a tough cookie darling but he was
00:31:52.760 beautiful but he was also ready with a joke and a gleam in his eye after being lectured on the
00:31:59.980 excruciating details of patent law by a fellow senator during a flight Lindsay declared that
00:32:08.300 he had discovered a new form of enhanced interrogation and torture for the Guantanamo
00:32:16.440 Bay area he said this is really bad stuff and boring and while he was an
00:32:23.340 incredibly hard worker he was not exactly an early riser as many of you
00:32:28.260 know when Senator Tim Scott a great gentleman in his own right I can tell
00:32:34.740 you invited him to prayer breakfast at 8 30 a.m. Lindsay told him Tim if Jesus
00:32:41.280 himself comes back before 10 a.m. I ain't going. Yet, while he was always quick to laugh, no one
00:32:50.980 ever doubted the gravity of his mission. Above all, Lindsey Graham believed in a strong America.
00:32:57.980 He wanted a strong America. He had unwavering faith in the righteousness of American power
00:33:05.040 and prayer and he was extremely hawkish I will tell you he never saw war that he didn't like
00:33:11.420 only his true friends would understand that but he wanted it for the good of our country
00:33:16.200 he felt in his bones that our destiny is to win and that his job was to do everything he could
00:33:22.980 to ensure our enemies would lose it was this conviction that led him to serve 33 years in
00:33:31.440 uniform in the Air Force and Air Force Reserves and Air National Guard even while he was in office.
00:33:39.740 And it was this conviction that took him as a senator to almost every country on earth,
00:33:44.380 confronting America's adversaries and standing up for America's friends. He had tremendous
00:33:50.340 friendships all over the world. It's a testament to his towering impact that among those mourning
00:33:56.560 him here today are leaders, presidents, prime ministers from all over the globe, sitting
00:34:03.620 right here before you. Lindsey met countless world leaders, yet wherever he went, he was
00:34:10.160 always the same Lindsey Graham. When he met Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi in a tent
00:34:18.180 in the desert, he told him, I expected something out of the Arabian Nights. This looks more
00:34:23.200 like a Winnebago. That was not a good statement to make at the time. And when he met the Dalai
00:34:30.100 Lama, Lindsay looked him straight in the eyes and said, so can you really levitate? The Dalai
00:34:38.440 Lama was not happy with that. But no matter how high he rose, he never forgot where he came from.
00:34:46.100 There's probably not a single town in South Carolina where Lindsay did not help repair a
00:34:51.200 bridge, expand a school, improve a hospital, or recover from a disaster. He was a force of nature
00:34:58.480 and I will miss him greatly. As you remember, Lindsay and I did not exactly get off to the
00:35:06.420 best of starts, running against each other. Back in 2016, Lindsay said something rather nasty on
00:35:15.420 his flight to becoming the next president of the united states so naturally i did something that
00:35:23.160 i shouldn't have done i shared his personal cell phone number with the millions of people that
00:35:28.760 happened to be watching that particular day as i made a speech a very important speech
00:35:32.960 and i remember the number 202-228-0292 if anybody wants to give it a shot
00:35:39.480 his phone exploded he said i had that number for 20 years his phone totally i don't know what he
00:35:46.680 did with it but it exploded that was the beginning of a friendship in a way but it was lindsay who
00:35:53.820 had the last laugh because while i blew up his phone all for one day we became great friends
00:36:01.060 and lindsay did not stop calling me for the next 10 years it was not easy
00:36:05.240 i always cherish the memories of our golf games and only because of his really uh and i will say
00:36:15.660 this memorial service is so hard to say a memorial service for lindsey it's hard to say
00:36:20.320 but i'll admit that one time lindsey graham and annika sorensen actually beat me and gary player
00:36:28.600 together. Can you believe that? Annika played very well that day, actually. But right to the end,
00:36:36.080 Lindsay carried in his golf bag the putter that once belonged to his dad, and he carried it with
00:36:41.920 him with glass and with a ring that was so beautiful of his mother, and they were laying
00:36:49.380 right at his bedside. The night he died, they were there. He had them with him at all times.
00:36:55.460 from that pool hall where his parents raised him to the halls of the united states senate where he
00:37:01.780 was respected and loved this son of south carolina became one of the most important men
00:37:07.600 in the most important country on earth in a city where politicians often become jaded and cynical
00:37:14.460 lindsey graham never lost the old-fashioned american idealism that brought him to the highest
00:37:22.140 levels of government and life. He took his duty seriously without taking himself too seriously.
00:37:29.600 He was unwavering in his principles, but always willing to listen. He always wanted
00:37:34.400 to listen. And one thing about Lindsey that we all know, he never quit. You wanted him to quit.
00:37:42.080 You waited for him to quit, but he would never quit. Above all, Lindsey Graham loved America,
00:37:47.680 and he believed in the American people.
00:37:50.360 If you shared that view, you had a friend in Lindsay.
00:37:54.000 If you didn't share it, there was no fiercer or more constant opponent.
00:37:59.860 Our nation needs more men and women like that great person sitting, laying, wherever he may be.
00:38:10.780 I think I know where he is, and I think he's up there.
00:38:13.100 I think he's watching us.
00:38:14.200 I'm pretty sure of it.
00:38:15.180 scripture tells us that blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial for when he has
00:38:25.620 stood the test he will receive the crown of life for 71 years lindsey graham was strong and steadfast
00:38:34.780 as a brother a senator a warrior and a patriot he withstood every last
00:38:40.500 test every single test that you can go through and every trial and now he wears the crown of
00:38:48.060 life in heaven we're united with his parents and we're united with his lord
00:38:53.840 i end by saying something very very special lindsey we love you god bless you we will always
00:39:04.200 be with you and you were very very special thank you thank you very much
00:39:10.500 and there we have
00:39:14.480 the president's
00:39:16.120 tribute
00:39:17.600 to Lindsey Graham
00:39:20.400 a
00:39:21.360 of course in the president's own way
00:39:24.480 heartfelt
00:39:25.340 but also personal
00:39:27.580 a lot of humor
00:39:29.780 and the president of course
00:39:32.040 had to give quite a few of these
00:39:34.520 in recent years
00:39:35.400 not only for
00:39:38.160 folks like Senator Lindsey Graham, but also people like Charlie Kirk, where he spoke at
00:39:44.620 that memorial. Now the president going over to casket and retaking his seat along with
00:39:52.600 the vice president and other members of the cabinet, Russ Vogt, other folks who were very
00:40:02.760 close with Senator Graham, his family, and staff were also in attendance, as well as,
00:40:11.920 of course, foreign dignitaries.
00:40:21.220 The service continues.
00:40:32.760 Especially the most in century.
00:40:38.760 Through the eyes, we shall walk again.
00:40:52.760 Let us pray Google May 21st,
00:40:59.220 Let us pray Skip
00:41:06.620 Kristi of today
00:41:11.460 There will be no trial set there, there will be no trial set there.
00:41:41.460 Let us pray, if Jesus himself shall meet us,
00:41:59.060 I can't
00:42:23.080 I can't
00:42:26.620 I can't
00:42:29.060 Oh 0.76
00:42:59.060 All right, we now have one of Lindsey Graham's close friends 0.66
00:43:16.340 coming up to give the next tribute.
00:43:18.980 This, of course, is TV and radio host Sean Hannity,
00:43:24.440 someone who, of course, was very close with Lindsey,
00:43:28.660 gave him platform daily for almost two decades so let's tune in i want to thank all of you
00:43:40.180 for being here on behalf of lindsay darlene and his family i loved him so much you know
00:43:48.100 many of you know that i speak for a living and president trump often reminds me
00:43:54.180 that I kind of never stopped talking, whether on air or off air. And while it is an honor to be
00:44:02.080 standing in this place today, I simply wish that our dear friend, Lindsey, were here with us,
00:44:09.420 as all of you do. He would have been so proud. He would have been so honored, Mr. President,
00:44:15.260 that you were here. Mr. Vice President, that you were here. I see the Secretary of State is here.
00:44:20.660 I see the entire cabinet is here.
00:44:23.600 Thank you, all of you, each and every one of you.
00:44:26.240 Chief of Staff is here.
00:44:27.580 Steve Whitcoff is here.
00:44:28.720 I see everybody.
00:44:30.340 We are here to say goodbye, as the president said, to a true original.
00:44:37.460 There was nobody like Lindsey Graham.
00:44:40.040 Nobody.
00:44:41.320 He loved being a U.S. senator.
00:44:43.440 He loved representing the great state of South Carolina.
00:44:46.760 He worked harder.
00:44:47.900 he traveled more than any senator I ever knew I couldn't believe his travel
00:44:53.420 schedule and he was just a force of nature in a good way for good reasons
00:45:00.380 nobody visited more war zones nobody met with more active duty troops nobody
00:45:07.040 loved with the exception perhaps of our president our military more and that
00:45:12.440 included the decades of service that he served himself both on active duty and
00:45:17.840 in the reserves. To our nation's warriors, I have a message to you today. He was so, so grateful
00:45:26.220 to all of you for putting your lives on the line for your country. Nobody admired you more.
00:45:33.660 Now, I want to say for the record, Lindsay and I did not always agree, not on everything.
00:45:38.720 But we could disagree and we could remain friends and we've remained friends for decades.
00:45:44.300 we had similar backgrounds this may shock some of you we both in different ways we both grew up in
00:45:52.520 a bar you know i started working at 12 washing dishes till 2 3 in the morning and i was a cook
00:45:59.500 at 13 at 17 i was tending bar lindsey as the president mentioned and a bartender at 17
00:46:07.060 And his father, Darlene, you know, as you know, he ran a bar. He ran a liquor store. He ran a pool
00:46:16.280 room. And it's amazing what life lessons you can learn in that environment. By the way, not all of
00:46:23.940 them are really good lessons. I can tell you that. We did laugh about it constantly. We shared stories
00:46:31.160 always. And yes, we, I shouldn't admit this in the National Cathedral, we could still curse like we
00:46:37.560 were behind a bar. Lindsay does hold a couple of records that I don't think will ever be broken
00:46:43.700 on the Fox News channel. And number one was how freely he would use certain words
00:46:50.520 on my show in particular. Now in this beautiful cathedral, I will not repeat them,
00:46:55.940 but his first record was on how many different occasions those words would come flying out of
00:47:02.980 his mouth. That was record one. Record number two was how many times could he say it in a single
00:47:08.680 appearance. I did show a montage on my show about this. And, you know, I will selfishly admit that
00:47:15.980 when a U.S. senator utters certain words on national TV, it is really, Mr. President,
00:47:22.160 You'll appreciate this. It is great for ratings. And Senator Graham was great for ratings because
00:47:29.280 people listened to him. He drew you in. He had that passion to draw you in. So for that, I was
00:47:36.940 very grateful. Lindsey also is well known on my TV show. He was a shameless self-promoter. I don't
00:47:44.140 think any one person ever said Lindsey Graham dot com more than Lindsey Graham. And then he'd call
00:47:51.220 me hours later and tell me how much money he raised on my show that night and over and over
00:47:57.520 if he were here today I'm sure he would not miss a chance to say Darlene Graham.com
00:48:03.840 I'll say it for him for the record it was always a bit risky to have Lindsay on your TV show
00:48:10.940 my Fox colleagues they would understand this and I could have easily been fired for any of these
00:48:17.640 occasions and I'm extremely grateful to my boss Lachlan Murdoch he is with us today
00:48:24.200 and his father Rupert the founder of the Fox News channel and they never held me accountable
00:48:31.500 Darlene for what your brother said and I'm about to finish my 30th year at Fox in part because I
00:48:38.860 got to interview wonderful leaders like your brother Lindsay I want everybody to know was
00:48:45.600 so proud to be a senator. He was so proud to serve the people of South Carolina. For the people of
00:48:53.040 that great state, I want you to know with no ambiguity that you gave Lindsey Graham the honor
00:49:00.020 of a lifetime. Thank you. At his core, Lindsey was a man driven by principle. God, family, country.
00:49:08.760 He was a friend's friend. He was a great patriot. He fought with every ounce of strength he had in
00:49:16.040 his body for the things that he deeply believed in. He was also, as my friend, one of the funniest
00:49:21.980 people that you could ever know. We laughed nonstop. We laughed often about many of you in
00:49:29.520 this room. With me he never held back and that was the basis of our deep friendship. I will miss
00:49:40.660 I will miss him so much. Mr. President he would be so honored so honored that you are here today.
00:49:51.260 he loved you as he loved his country he loved the times you played golf i heard about every
00:50:00.380 single solitary hole he loved the meals that you shared he loved the late night conversations you
00:50:07.380 had and mr president you gave him the greatest gift of his life and that was a front row seat
00:50:14.840 at the highest levels of history in the making it meant the world to him thank you sir for that
00:50:22.900 i see prime minister netanyahu is here mr prime minister you too have been a dear friend of mine
00:50:29.840 for 30 years it's an honor to have you and lindsay would have been blown away that you took
00:50:37.020 this long journey with your beautiful bride to be here today he loved you he loved the state of
00:50:44.200 Israel. He loved the people of Israel. Under your leadership, Israel has been one of America's most
00:50:51.360 consistent and loyal allies. He was never shy to say it to the day he passed. And just as President
00:51:00.560 Trump has been Israel's strongest friend in the history of the White House, you know, the two
00:51:09.060 partners aligned together. Lindsey was that friend to Israel in the United States Senate
00:51:15.860 as long as I've known this man. Lindsey, he was often unfairly characterized as a warmonger.
00:51:24.780 I've heard that false criticism a lot. It's not true. The truth was the opposite.
00:51:31.620 Lindsey desperately wanted and talked to the president about a lasting peace in the Middle
00:51:37.180 East. He wanted every region, every country in the region on that path to peace. That was Lindsey's
00:51:44.880 dream. If people would only listen to what he had been saying. His greatest gift in life, from my
00:51:51.640 perspective, was Lindsey had moral clarity. He understood right from wrong, good from evil. And
00:51:59.440 he knew, as President Trump knows, as Israel knows, as I know, there can be no path to peace
00:52:08.620 until evil is defeated. Evil, in this case, embodied in a death cult, an ideology,
00:52:17.460 the world's number one state sponsor of terror. Thanks to the partnership of the president,
00:52:23.820 the prime minister, and many other allies, I pray their days are numbers, and I pray
00:52:29.060 that Lindsay's dream of a lasting peace becomes realized soon. I see President Zelensky is here.
00:52:38.160 President Zelensky, I know that Lindsay would have been deeply moved and honored that you made
00:52:43.220 this long journey to be here today. God, our Father, called him home not long after he returned
00:52:50.620 from yet another perilous trip to Kiev to meet with you. In our private conversations, he often
00:52:56.840 marveled at your strength against the world one of the world's most brutal regimes he saw you and
00:53:03.400 he said it to me once as a warrior poet or warrior comedian he used those terms and on paper i think
00:53:12.840 everybody would agree on paper ukraine would have been defeated in months and here we are nearly
00:53:19.560 five years later and your country has shown a fighting spirit that no one ever predicted
00:53:26.840 now he was proud of you and the courage of your countrymen the president mentioned justice
00:53:33.880 kavanaugh who i see here with us today justice kavanaugh in an unfortunate way you brought out
00:53:41.560 the very best in Lindsay for the entire country to see. Now he saw what was happening to you and
00:53:50.200 your family as a grave injustice and the world got to witness my friend the person that I knew
00:53:57.000 in action and they got to see him at his absolute best. He unloaded on those that were being unfair
00:54:06.280 and brutal to your family and to you and i believe it was his finest moment as the president
00:54:11.800 mentioned as a u.s senator and just as with justice thomas before him and before you and
00:54:17.880 before robert bork before you he had had enough he'd had enough he let the world know it thank
00:54:27.160 you justice kavanaugh for being here to the members of the senate led by majority leader thune
00:54:32.520 Speaker of the House Mike Johnson all the members of Congress present you all
00:54:38.700 know he loved his job he lived it he breathed it and he left every single bit
00:54:44.900 of energy he had on the field fighting for what he believed in in case you
00:54:50.340 didn't know it I'll say it for him you were his second family I see my friend
00:54:55.120 Senator Tim Scott my other dear South Carolina friend I have one more that is
00:55:01.040 here with me today that's really extra special. Okay. Senator Scott Lindsay loved you. Your
00:55:10.740 unwavering loyalty meant the world to him. Even before his last primary when you came on my show
00:55:17.500 the night before that primary and you advocated for him better than he could ever advocate for
00:55:22.740 himself. It touched him deeply. He always knew he always knew and understood that you had much
00:55:28.540 higher polling numbers than he did. He was never jealous, ever. He was proud of you, and you defined
00:55:36.180 what it meant to be a man, a character, and a true friend. I see my friend Trey Gowdy, my fellow Fox
00:55:42.700 host, is here, another dear and loyal friend. He loved playing golf with you. He loved when you made
00:55:48.660 fun of him, which, by the way, was usually very justified. You are a confidant. You are a mentor
00:55:55.240 in ways that people will never know.
00:55:59.020 I see Governor McMaster is here.
00:56:01.920 You were Lindsey's friends in life
00:56:03.520 and an even greater friend after his passing.
00:56:07.240 You understood the deep love that he had for South Carolina
00:56:10.280 and you recognized what it would mean
00:56:13.320 to appoint his younger sister, Darlene,
00:56:17.080 to finish the work of her big brother.
00:56:19.780 That decision reflected the best of South Carolina values.
00:56:25.240 Governor, thank you. Last and most important, my dear friend, Senator Darlene Graham.
00:56:34.760 You know, I see that you're here with your beautiful husband, your family, all the people
00:56:41.040 that love you, love Lindsay. And as you have said yourself, Lindsay was your brother, your
00:56:50.140 father and your mother and you were only as the president pointed out you're only 13 years old
00:56:57.260 when your parents passed away and he was only 21 years old and he left school and he took over the
00:57:04.660 family business and he made it his business to raise his little sister politics was politics
00:57:12.460 Lindsay and I talked a lot of politics. But you, Darlene, you were his life. Your family was his 0.61
00:57:20.720 life. You were his God-given purpose. He loved you with all of his heart, and he told me often.
00:57:30.500 Now, we all know that he was a true believer. We know that he is in paradise today,
00:57:36.920 and we know that he is so proud of you we all know in this room today this beautiful cathedral
00:57:44.900 that these past two weeks have been the hardest two weeks of your life
00:57:48.940 and most people could not imagine losing the brother that raised them and then almost
00:57:57.420 immediately almost immediately you got a call from the president of our country
00:58:04.100 you got a call from the governor of your state they asked you if you would be willing to step
00:58:13.420 up and finish the work of the brother that we honor here today your brother lindsey
00:58:18.960 you barely had time to warn if any you told me that you asked yourself
00:58:27.600 the one question that mattered what would Lindsay want me to do that was the one question
00:58:37.180 you put your personal tragedy aside for the state for the state that you love and for the country 0.99
00:58:44.000 that you love within two days you were sworn in as the first female senator from the great state
00:58:50.900 to South Carolina. And by the weekend, you were in shorts and a t-shirt on your hands and knees
00:58:59.640 with your daughter painting her parking space at her school. That was the week that your brother
00:59:09.160 passed away. Now, to me, that tells us everything we need to know about you. Your brother loved you
00:59:16.820 with all his heart. I would be negligent if I did not acknowledge Lindsay's staff. There's too
00:59:23.680 many to mention. The hard work that went into this service today and the service that will be
00:59:30.720 in Columbia tomorrow is extraordinary Senate staff. I know how hard you all worked. Richard
00:59:37.360 Perry, Van Cato, Tara, I know how hard you worked. Kevin, Taylor, there are so many others, too many
00:59:43.200 name the fact that the vast majority of you are staying on to work for Darlene
00:59:48.720 would have made him grateful beyond words and on his behalf I want to say
00:59:54.380 thank you to all of you thank you my Christian faith is the most important
01:00:01.420 thing to me in my life I like Lindsay God family country and I believe that
01:00:09.120 with all my heart we will see him again.
01:00:13.020 To my dear friend, to our fearless warrior, I will miss our late night calls, I will miss
01:00:19.300 our strategizing together, I will miss our dinners, I will miss our conversations about
