00:00:30.000 This is what happens when the fourth turning meets fifth generation warfare.
00:00:39.480 A commentator, international social media sensation, and former Navy intelligence veteran.
00:00:46.040 This is Human Events with your host, Jack Posobiec.
00:00:49.160 Christ is king.
00:00:50.340 I've become friends with school shooters.
00:00:52.080 I've seen it.
00:00:52.680 Look, the NRA, I was an NRA guy for a long time.
00:00:54.980 Senator, we have so much to get to.
00:00:56.680 I think it's important.
00:00:58.060 We're going to turn out of the economy.
00:00:59.540 Thank you.
00:00:59.640 Margaret, the rules were that you guys weren't going to fact check.
00:01:02.680 And since you're fact checking me, I think it's important to say what's actually going on.
00:01:06.900 So there's an application called the CBP One App, where you can go on as an illegal migrant,
00:01:12.080 apply for asylum or apply for parole, and be granted legal status at the wave of a Kamala
00:01:19.420 Harris open border wand.
00:01:21.160 That is not a person coming in, applying for a green card and waiting for 10 years.
00:01:25.140 That is the facilitation of illegal immigration, Margaret, by our own leadership.
00:01:29.020 Thank you, Senator, for describing it.
00:01:30.440 It has now been five days since Hurricane Helene devastated the Southeast.
00:01:34.100 The death toll is now at least 149, with hundreds more still missing.
00:01:38.420 Hundreds of thousands still remain without power.
00:01:40.700 The disaster relief people.
00:01:42.080 They were like, do not donate your time.
00:01:45.220 We don't want you to donate time unless we ask for you.
00:01:49.200 And we don't want you to donate stuff to other people.
00:01:52.780 You need to just donate money and stuff to us and get your instructions from us and listen
00:01:58.360 to us.
00:01:59.000 What?
00:02:00.620 And then you say, they said yesterday, we don't go into areas that the roads are not
00:02:06.280 easily accessible.
00:02:08.160 What?
00:02:09.240 You are the dead disaster relief people.
00:02:12.020 Like, that is your job, to go into the areas that are hit by disaster and provide relief.
00:02:19.140 What the government is doing right now to the entire state of North Carolina and Tennessee
00:02:23.340 is a nothing short of just plain awful.
00:02:27.780 Like, I do not physically have the words for it.
00:02:30.040 We have not heard from my aunt since Friday because of Hurricane Helene.
00:02:34.920 And there is no government aid.
00:02:36.920 None.
00:02:37.560 Zero.
00:02:38.160 Zilch.
00:02:39.000 And the government is currently trying to arrest people who are delivering supplies via helicopter.
00:02:45.020 They are threatening to arrest those people.
00:02:46.980 They are threatening to arrest people who are trying to f***ing help people survive.
00:02:51.960 Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard today's edition of Human Events Daily, live here from Washington,
00:02:57.100 D.C.
00:02:57.700 Today is October 2nd, 2024.
00:03:00.440 Anno, Domini.
00:03:01.500 J.D. Vance, who delivered a command performance last night there in New York City.
00:03:07.540 I was there in New York as well at Trump Hotel.
00:03:10.940 I went down to the CBS Center.
00:03:12.860 Came back to train this morning.
00:03:14.920 Here I am back home.
00:03:16.860 It was incredible to see him, see his work there up on that CBS stage.
00:03:21.500 We're now waiting for J.D. Vance.
00:03:23.280 He's about to just, we're told imminently, he's actually supposed to speak about 30 minutes
00:03:27.780 ago here in, over in Michigan, one of the swing states, one of the key states.
00:03:32.920 But, you know, just so we're going to take that as soon as we can as a programming note,
00:03:37.320 and then we'll be back on the other end.
00:03:39.540 But just, you know, my recollections of the debate, you know, I think I put it out there.
00:03:43.340 What J.D. is doing is he is targeting those shy Trump voters.
00:03:49.840 The shy Trump voter is what he's going for.
00:03:52.320 He's going for someone who's thinking, you know, I want to vote for that Trump guy.
00:03:56.900 I like the stuff he talks about.
00:03:59.020 I remember how the country was when he was president.
00:04:02.440 It's just, you know, there's something about those tweets or really the, the, also the social
00:04:07.960 taboo around Trump that the media has created.
00:04:11.980 The left has inculcated people like Tim Walls, of course, have played into where, you know,
00:04:17.080 it's wrong to vote for Trump.
00:04:19.260 It's wrong to support him.
00:04:20.540 Those people are waiting for some kind of permission.
00:04:23.860 Well, J.D. Vance just gave them permission last night to say, look, this guy is going to
00:04:29.600 be the vice president.
00:04:30.820 He's not as brash.
00:04:32.420 He's not as bombastic as President Trump.
00:04:36.260 He gives you the ability to say, you know what?
00:04:40.520 I don't know if I was for Trump before, but now I am.
00:04:43.280 And folks, again, so because I had a lot of people comment to me and they said, why is
00:04:47.740 it the J.D. isn't, you know, the why isn't he blowing him up?
00:04:52.280 Why isn't he just pounding him?
00:04:53.900 Why isn't he just nailing him to the wall?
00:04:55.800 And which, no, no, no, no, guys, I understand.
00:04:57.140 You are not the audience for this.
00:05:00.840 What J.D. is doing is strategic.
00:05:03.000 What J.D. was doing was targeted, strategic targeting of voters and voting groups that
00:05:09.980 we know can and will vote for Trump in places like, oh, by the way, suburban Philadelphia,
00:05:16.540 where those collar counties outside of Philadelphia, some of them have already begun voting.
00:05:21.080 I mentioned yesterday my mother has already voted.
00:05:23.760 By the way, Mom, I saw that you posted the picture.
00:05:25.900 OK, she posted it.
00:05:27.380 It's up.
00:05:27.900 I retweeted it.
00:05:29.000 Look, my mom voted before you guys.
00:05:31.020 All right.
00:05:31.480 She voted in September.
00:05:33.180 That's how early this can be done.
00:05:34.420 So the election is already going on now.
00:05:36.280 The election is now we are in the election.
00:05:39.080 Election day, you know, that is an outmoded way of thinking.
00:05:42.680 We're in it now.
00:05:44.420 But there's something else that people are in right now.
00:05:46.200 And that's something that I wish that the debate had taken longer on CBS, of course,
00:05:49.880 change this to a climate change discussion.
00:05:52.620 But the real discussion is that the people of Appalachia, the people that J.D. Vance represents
00:05:59.080 in a way that we've never really seen before on the national stage, those people are hurting
00:06:03.840 because of Hurricane Haleen.
00:06:06.160 And CBS turned it into some sort of argument about climate change when they want to sit there
00:06:13.840 and say, oh, well, the hurricanes have done this and the science and the PhDs and this and
00:06:17.860 that, et cetera, et cetera.
00:06:19.540 It's it's ridiculous.
00:06:21.520 And J.D. is trying, you know, to say, what about the people that we're trying to save?
00:06:28.800 What about the people that we're trying to help?
00:06:32.100 Well, we're going to hear from those people.
00:06:34.400 We're also going to talk to folks that are down there this week in Tennessee and North
00:06:39.720 Carolina, because these are the areas that have been completely decimated by this.
00:06:44.520 Some towns and you've seen the videos, I've seen the videos where they're just absolutely
00:06:48.360 washed away.
00:06:49.860 Now, folks, I mentioned before that we are still waiting for J.D. Vance to come on.
00:06:54.000 So I'd like if I can to bring on now Human Events columnist Kenny Cody, who has been taking
00:07:00.800 some time.
00:07:01.360 He stepped away from his writing, his writing tasks and his writing duties because there's
00:07:06.760 a higher duty that's going on in his community right now.
00:07:10.020 And he's been helping out.
00:07:11.360 Kenny Cody, how are you, my friend?
00:07:12.560 I'm doing OK, brother.
00:07:14.620 Just be praying for us.
00:07:15.740 And I've been doing work around our community, been doing work around our region to give back.
00:07:21.300 And because, I mean, I think we're going to rely on each other and rely on our community
00:07:24.680 and those that are willing to support us before we're able to rely on anybody else.
00:07:28.000 But I'm OK as I can be.
00:07:30.760 Well, Kenny, I've been I've been seeing your your tweets and seeing your your information
00:07:35.480 being put out there.
00:07:36.400 Tell people so you're I know you're East Tennessee.
00:07:39.520 But were you in a spot that was severely affected or are you just sort of near to those
00:07:43.640 areas?
00:07:44.980 Yeah, we were pretty severely affected.
00:07:46.900 I live in an area called Cot County, which is right on the North Carolina border.
00:07:50.440 We were right next to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
00:07:53.660 So we're we're right on the borderline of North Carolina and and Tennessee.
00:07:58.080 So we we experienced a lot of flooding.
00:08:00.360 A lot of most of my community is still out of water.
00:08:02.600 If we do have water, it's kind of dirty.
00:08:05.000 We have to boil it for right now is in a lot of areas across our community.
00:08:08.160 I think most of our power has been restored, but we have we have schools.
00:08:11.620 We have our local government.
00:08:13.260 We have charity organizations around the county.
00:08:16.140 And here in a few minutes, I'll probably give to people some leaks to go and donate or
00:08:19.640 some websites to be able to donate.
00:08:21.200 There's the first one that is Cot County Mountain Strong.
00:08:23.620 So there's a QR code there at the bottom of the page that if people want to go down there
00:08:27.180 and donate, they're going to get donated directly to Cot County, which has been severely
00:08:30.680 affected.
00:08:31.020 We've been one of the most affected in the community because where we were next to the
00:08:33.580 Waterville Dam, the Nullchickie Dam from the floods over North Carolina that was spilling
00:08:37.820 over, a lot of our community was flooded.
00:08:40.000 So if you want to go there and donate, please, please do that.
00:08:43.120 There's a QR code there at the bottom of the page that goes directly to our Economic Development
00:08:46.720 Commission that's giving a relief.
00:08:48.600 There's actually a Cot County Relief Fund right there.
00:08:52.220 As well, there's a Mountain Tough page.
00:08:55.080 That's a charity organization that's that's giving back.
00:08:58.400 There's a Mountain Ways donation page that you're seeing there on the screen to help support
00:09:03.280 recovery efforts for through East Tennessee and Western North Carolina.
00:09:06.360 It is kind of on the on the border of each other.
00:09:08.800 And then, of course, I think we got another link somewhere.
00:09:13.380 Glenn Jacobs, who is the Knox County mayor and and a former WWE wrestler, Kane, is hosting a
00:09:19.080 food, a food donation drive and a canned food drive in Knoxville on Saturday at the in Kingsport.
00:09:27.140 I'm sorry, at the Kingston Pike exit in Knoxville at Knoxville Wholesale Furniture.
00:09:31.560 That's going to be from four to eight on Saturday.
00:09:33.960 So we're hosting a lot of events here in our community trying to give back.
00:09:37.480 Our community is deeply suffering right now.
00:09:39.860 And we're we're rule we're rule Tennessee.
00:09:42.040 So we're on the border of so affected real, real quick for folks that aren't local and
00:09:48.800 for folks that are local.
00:09:49.740 If you can, I'd love to.
00:09:51.280 I'm sure Kenny would love to have you out there for folks who aren't local.
00:09:54.660 What's the best place for them to go?
00:09:57.060 Is it a website?
00:09:57.940 Is it give send go?
00:09:59.000 What's the best way for folks who aren't local to be able to support these efforts?
00:10:02.820 I think those two that the Mountain Ways page, especially that's getting back directly to
00:10:07.880 East Tennessee and Western North Carolina, just go there and donate.
00:10:10.900 And I think Samaritan's Purse is another charity organization taking many donations across the
00:10:15.460 country.
00:10:16.020 You know, I think there's a lot like I think Red Cross, Samaritan's Purse, multiple different
00:10:21.700 charity organizations set up in East Tennessee and in Western North Carolina, which are the
00:10:25.460 two worst affected areas because of the flooding.
00:10:27.640 The two donation pages that we've looked at are mainly localized.
00:10:31.820 But anybody from the country can actually donate to these pages.
00:10:34.580 And I think the Mountain Ways page is a lot more wide expanded through the through the
00:10:37.960 southeast part of the region.
00:10:40.120 Got it.
00:10:40.660 So, Kenny, tell me what what's it like?
00:10:42.620 What are you seeing out there?
00:10:44.720 You know, just seeing a lot of people who are just struggling.
00:10:46.860 You know, I think that, you know, we've not lost a lot of lives.
00:10:49.940 I think we've only lost a couple of lives here in Cox County, but there's been a million
00:10:53.080 lives lost in North Carolina, many people still missing.
00:10:56.160 It's mostly just a lot of household loss, a lot of food.
00:11:00.240 Water is the main concern right now.
00:11:02.740 We've not had consistent water since Saturday.
00:11:05.960 Most households in Cox County and in Greene County and in Western North Carolina are still
00:11:10.880 struggling to have water.
00:11:11.800 So we've had incoming donations of bottled water for people to wash their clothes, for
00:11:15.900 people to take showers for actual clean water consumption.
00:11:19.640 I think the water has been turned back on in some areas solely for cleaning purposes, but
00:11:24.400 it's not clean yet.
00:11:25.460 It's going to go through a filtration system for not to be contaminated for things like
00:11:30.240 E. coli.
00:11:30.900 So we're trying to tell people not to drink that water as of yet, even if it has been
00:11:34.760 restored just purely for cleaning purposes and, you know, for potable water, for purely
00:11:38.900 cleaning and flushing purposes for the basic human need of using the bathroom for taking
00:11:43.600 showers and things like that.
00:11:45.000 But it's just been a huge struggle.
00:11:47.260 You know, people have lost their homes.
00:11:48.560 People have lost a lot of their household items.
00:11:51.320 You know, people's power boxes have been drained.
00:11:53.720 There's been water that has made their power basically go out completely.
00:11:59.260 You know, just the basic need.
00:12:00.860 Like I said, I don't think there's actually been a lot of lives lost except for a couple
00:12:03.960 here in Cox County.
00:12:05.820 But mainly what we're struggling with is water.
00:12:08.360 And mainly what we're struggling with is just people being able to cook, people being able
00:12:11.600 to take showers, people being able to use the bathroom, and a lot of our local churches
00:12:15.480 and charity organizations are helping people out.
00:12:17.420 But we need all the donations and all of the help that we can get here in our community
00:12:21.720 because our people are suffering.
00:12:24.160 Well, and this is just, I mean, it's horrific.
00:12:26.460 Was there, and I've gotten spotty reporting about this, so when this thing took its track,
00:12:32.960 you know, take us back a couple of days when Helene was coming up and they were, you know,
00:12:37.160 they were looking at that, I think it was the Alabama-Georgia line, that's what they were
00:12:40.360 talking about, and did you receive any evacuation orders?
00:12:44.520 Do you know if anything like that went out?
00:12:48.040 Talk us through just in the days and hours leading up to this, did people really feel
00:12:53.240 like there was a sense of warning?
00:12:55.820 So, you know, I've seen a lot of people get on the line, like how more states like Tennessee
00:13:00.780 and North Carolina are prepared.
00:13:01.800 So there was really a difference between the hurricane evacuations, like in Georgia and
00:13:06.500 Florida, and the flood evacuations in North Carolina and Tennessee.
00:13:09.860 We saw the after effects of evacuation in North Carolina and Tennessee days after the
00:13:14.480 hurricane actually occurred.
00:13:15.980 So on Saturday and Friday especially, we saw evacuation efforts because we thought that
00:13:20.360 a lot of the dams were being compromised in North Carolina because of the onslaught of
00:13:24.000 water and flooding in North Carolina.
00:13:25.920 So where we're on the border of North Carolina, we are directly connected to the Waterville
00:13:31.800 Dam in North Carolina, to the Nolchucky Dam here in Tennessee.
00:13:34.460 And when that onslaught of water happened, we did have evacuation notices here in Cott
00:13:40.340 County, especially in downtown Newport, which is our county seat.
00:13:43.720 And people had to literally evacuate their homes because of the fear of those dams collapsing
00:13:47.540 and actually an onslaught and overflow of water coming into our town.
00:13:51.860 And our downtown did get flooded to the point of where people had to evacuate.
00:13:56.240 So on Friday and Saturday, those were the two main concerns.
00:14:00.460 Mostly on Friday was the big evacuation notice here in Cott County.
00:14:06.020 And I think that that was the kind of difference because people were, I've seen, of course, the
00:14:09.520 Democrats, the leftists try to criticize Tennessee for not being ready.
00:14:12.740 But we really were ready because there was a difference between a hurricane evacuation and
00:14:18.020 a flooding evacuation.
00:14:19.020 And we had a state of emergency on Friday and going through Saturday for flood evacuation
00:14:24.180 notices.
00:14:25.020 So that's kind of what happened.
00:14:26.400 We got the kind of the after effects from the hurricane.
00:14:28.600 And that's what caused a lot of the flooding, a lot of the damage in our area.
00:14:32.540 But is that, would you attribute that then to the fact that people were able to kind
00:14:36.640 of get out ahead of the flood?
00:14:38.480 And perhaps that's why so many lives were saved.
00:14:41.780 Yes, absolutely.
00:14:42.840 Yeah, the evacuation notices were 100% the right thing to do.
00:14:46.040 I think that we did have precautions.
00:14:49.020 A lot of our state, when we put in a state of emergency, we got the message out, kind
00:14:53.000 of like an amber alert system through the Tennessee's emergency management.
00:14:57.340 We were able to get a lot of people out of their homes, even if they were damaged and
00:15:00.300 we're kind of in the recovery effort.
00:15:01.620 Now, that initial evacuation notice, it notices in Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee
00:15:06.400 and counties like Cox, Severe, Hamblin, and Greene County, we were able to get out and
00:15:11.340 save a lot of people's lives.
00:15:12.400 And now we're just kind of in the recovery effort to make sure people stay alive, make sure
00:15:16.020 that people have everything they need to survive over the next few weeks.
00:15:20.360 Now, how about the, you know, and this has been something that's going kind of viral.
00:15:24.720 And, you know, in situations like this, you always have sort of a fog of war aspect.
00:15:29.740 How would you say the response has been from the federal government?
00:15:32.760 Because there's been some criticism.
00:15:34.800 Why aren't anyone, why doesn't it seem like any of the high level politicians have gone
00:15:38.820 in, the officials, other, but they're, they're firing back and saying, hey, we've delivered
00:15:42.780 all the aid.
00:15:43.600 So, you know, you're, you're there.
00:15:45.400 Just, just tell us what you're seeing.
00:15:47.500 I mean, I'm seeing a lot more support from our state government and from our local government
00:15:51.220 than I have seen the federal.
00:15:52.280 I mean, FEMA is here and I'm very thankful that FEMA has been as supportive as they have
00:15:56.360 been, but they've mainly done a lot of precautionary checks to make sure, like I said, the water's
00:15:59.980 safe, the land is safe.
00:16:01.240 There's not any catastrophes.
00:16:02.260 It's just going to happen afterwards.
00:16:03.260 But mainly what we're relying on is, as our state government, local officials, people
00:16:07.800 like Mayor Glenn Jacobs, like Jeremy Faison, Senator Blackburn, Senator Hagerty, Congresswoman
00:16:12.800 Diana Harshbarger, people like Robbie Starbuck and other local leaders are the ones that are
00:16:16.680 giving directly back to our community.
00:16:18.560 You know, Jeremy Faison is literally, and Robbie Starbuck are literally going around East
00:16:21.660 Tennessee, sending it, sending up Starlink Wi-Fi.
00:16:24.180 They're sending up internet capability because of all of our cell phone towers have been compromised
00:16:27.980 and are out.
00:16:28.800 People don't have cell phone service to be able to communicate.
00:16:30.720 So I want to give a huge shout out to people like that.
00:16:33.980 People like Jeremy Faison, Glenn Jacobs, and others who have been directly giving back and
00:16:37.880 have boots on the ground in Cott County, have boots on the ground in East Tennessee that
00:16:41.920 are giving directly back to our community.
00:16:44.440 Our state government's doing great.
00:16:46.300 Our local government is doing fantastic.
00:16:48.080 I can't say that much about the federal government, even if the funding has been approved.
00:16:51.640 And hopefully there is more of a congressional aid package coming for East Tennessee, coming
00:16:56.700 for the affected flood areas in the Southeast United States.
00:17:00.540 But really the people that are helping us out the most are those local officials, those
00:17:04.260 state officials, and those local leaders and volunteer workers who have been on the
00:17:08.380 ground.
00:17:08.660 People at my community, Cosby High School, the Cott County school system, who literally
00:17:13.200 have donation centers at every school in this county and donation centers at every church
00:17:17.920 in this county, being able to give back to their community.
00:17:20.120 So it's relied mostly upon state government and local government leaders and our church
00:17:24.860 and community services.
00:17:26.960 And I just want to throw it out there again, the East Tennessee Flooding Relief Food Drive
00:17:31.500 is going to be this Saturday, October 5th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
00:17:36.040 It's at the Knoxville Wholesale Furniture in Knoxville.
00:17:40.040 You can go to missionofhope.org.
00:17:42.460 That's missionofhope.org to get more information.
00:17:45.140 We've got the QR code.
00:17:46.120 Can we make that full screen so people can see that QR code?
00:17:48.420 You can just take a screenshot of that and that'll give you access to all of the information
00:17:54.140 or just follow Kenny Cody on Twitter.
00:17:56.440 And I'll post this as well, of course, for anybody who's there who can get it to Knoxville
00:18:01.600 or folks who just want to get involved in.
00:18:04.100 And by the way, we are going to have Glenn Jacobs on.
00:18:06.260 We were trying to get Glenn on today.
00:18:08.120 He's a friend of the show and has been on many times.
00:18:10.840 And, you know, he said, look, he said, I'm just too busy today.
00:18:13.660 I'm just too busy going around helping people.
00:18:15.380 But he's going to, I believe we're going to, we're going to get him for a few minutes on
00:18:18.920 Friday just to help promote this food drive.
00:18:20.960 And it's just incredible seeing leaders like that step up, do what needs to be done.
00:18:25.280 I've seen, you know, Mark Robinson in, over in Western North Carolina, and he's going
00:18:30.440 around and doing what he can, you know, this really is a moment where people can show their
00:18:34.900 true nature and show what they're really all about.
00:18:37.360 And Kenny, it sounds like in your area there in Eastern Tennessee, really does sound like
00:18:41.480 the community is doing what it needs to do to help the people that got hit the worst
00:18:45.140 by this.
00:18:46.780 Absolutely.
00:18:47.560 You know, like, like Mayor Mathis, Mayor Rob Mathis has done a great job.
00:18:51.400 You know, Jeremy Fajans has an amazing job.
00:18:54.000 And just really like a lot of the school administrators in our county, you know, almost every school is
00:18:58.200 a donation center, almost every church is a donation center, taking in clothes, cleaning
00:19:03.080 supplies, food, especially water, because of our water struggle here in the county right
00:19:08.380 now.
00:19:08.640 People have really stepped up.
00:19:09.820 I've never felt a sense of community like that I felt in the last few days.
00:19:14.560 And I've been so privileged and so honored to be from Cott County and be from Cosby, Tennessee
00:19:18.680 over the last few days.
00:19:19.740 You know, people ask me all the time, why don't you leave?
00:19:22.040 Why don't you do something else?
00:19:23.140 Things like this are exactly why that I stay here, because I love my community and I love
00:19:28.600 my hometown.
00:19:29.720 I'm very appreciative for the unity that we've shown over the last few days.
00:19:32.720 It's been really, really heartstrong and really, really, really, really reflective of the great
00:19:36.620 people that we have in our community.
00:19:38.860 Who are the people that are asking you to leave and where are they asking you to go?
00:19:44.760 Well, I mean, over the last few years, you know, like I stay here as a teacher.
00:19:48.800 I stay here as a community, I try to be at least a community servant here.
00:19:53.240 And people ask, you know, why don't you go walk in Washington, D.C.?
00:19:55.640 Why don't you go work in Nashville?
00:19:56.900 But, you know, seeing the community give back and seeing the unification that we've seen
00:20:00.980 over the last few days is exactly why that I stay here and want to give back to the community
00:20:04.960 that I love so much.
00:20:06.040 You know, I've been offered jobs.
00:20:07.640 I've been offered other opportunities at several different times in my life to go and
00:20:10.660 do something else.
00:20:11.440 But things like the last few days really show why that I want to stay here in Cott County and
00:20:15.600 give back as much as I can.
00:20:16.680 Well, I mean, I think that's incredible.
00:20:19.680 And seeing something like that, especially communities like Appalachia that I'm just going
00:20:23.980 to say it, you know, usually this is considered flyover country.
00:20:27.180 This is considered like the, you know, I've always kind of said that anytime they show the
00:20:33.200 Midwest and even Appalachia isn't exactly Midwest, but anytime they show the Midwest or
00:20:37.300 middle America in a movie, it's always like a horror movie, right?
00:20:40.880 So it's either like, it's either like Michael Myers in, uh, you know, the mid, I think that's
00:20:45.680 Midwestern, uh, Indiana or Illinois.
00:20:47.980 And then, you know, and then anything to do with Appalachia, it's always like the hills
00:20:51.860 have eyes or something like that.
00:20:54.120 Or, you know, the hillbillies are going to come and get you when your car breaks down.
00:20:57.620 And that's, that's what it's like.
00:20:59.200 And I'm like, I've, I've spent time there.
00:21:01.620 You know, it's, it's not like that at all.
00:21:03.440 It's like what you're describing.
00:21:04.480 Yes, well, just the community sense, and there's no, I mean, I've, I've been a lot
00:21:10.040 of people to do all over the country and cities and even, even areas like mine, and there's
00:21:14.300 still not a sense of community pride like there is here in rural Appalachia and here in
00:21:19.100 Cot County, Tennessee.
00:21:20.000 And like I said, I just couldn't be any prouder of the unification and the advocacy.
00:21:24.680 I mean, like Jack, we talk all the time, you know, we think that about, we think about
00:21:28.300 poor areas.
00:21:29.120 We think about the, you know, cities like Chicago.
00:21:31.000 We think cities like Detroit that struggle with poverty, that struggle with homelessness.
00:21:35.340 But it's kind of criticism to make fun of those people and, and, and, you know, that
00:21:40.000 they want to give direct aid to those people.
00:21:41.780 But when it comes to rural Appalachia, you don't see the same sort of unification.
00:21:45.260 You don't see the same sort of sympathy and empathy for the people, for the people of
00:21:48.920 my region.
00:21:49.440 But over the last few days, I've been very thankful to see the unification across our
00:21:53.740 state, across our region, and for people like you and for people, for me members, for
00:21:58.700 the people who are the Republicans and the Democrats who actually care for Southeast
00:22:03.260 Tennessee, who care for Western North Carolina, giving back to the community is, it's been
00:22:07.280 really refreshing to see because, you know, like, like advance is written about in hillbilly
00:22:11.280 elegy.
00:22:11.960 You know, a lot of times we're looked at as flyover country.
00:22:14.520 We're looked at as these dumb hillbillies, but we're not that we are a strong people.
00:22:20.240 We are a proud people.
00:22:21.440 And I've been, that's been no more reflective in its history than it has been the last few
00:22:25.400 days here in Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina.
00:22:28.620 Well, and Kenny, I just have to say, you know, it, it, it seems to me is if this were
00:22:32.820 hitting a major metropolitan area, if these, if this was happening to a different group
00:22:37.420 of people, I think it would be all over the news.
00:22:39.920 I think it'd be all over the mainstream.
00:22:42.220 I think the establishment would be going out there.
00:22:44.340 I think that you'd see presidents and vice presidents and all sorts of people flying
00:22:49.060 in and you'd have the celebrities who'd be doing telethons and all the stuff that you
00:22:53.640 saw in the aftermath of Katrina would be going on right now.
00:22:58.180 But because it's your part of the country, because it's a group of people, um, you know,
00:23:03.880 that aren't supposed to exist, right?
00:23:05.340 Because if you listen to any of the mainstream networks, poor white people aren't supposed
00:23:09.580 to exist.
00:23:10.240 There are no poor white people.
00:23:11.260 White people are the, uh, you know, the patriarchy and the, uh, the systemic racism, the oppressors
00:23:16.340 of all society.
00:23:17.080 And it's like, well, Appalachia is kind of a, a bit of a, a bit of a pebble in the shoe
00:23:21.460 of, of that argument because that's, you know, plenty of struggles, which, and yes, obviously
00:23:27.360 JD Vance brought up many, many, many times, not just in his career, but certainly, um,
00:23:32.420 most poignantly last night of one on that stage that it's like, no, that's, you guys have
00:23:37.160 it all wrong.
00:23:37.800 You, you just have it all wrong.
00:23:39.380 And what's really, it's, it's sick actually, to me, to think that our government would play
00:23:45.240 games with something like disaster raid, not based on who needs it most because they got
00:23:50.840 hit by the hurricane.
00:23:52.340 But two years ago, you have Kamala Harris up there saying that we need to distribute a
00:23:56.840 disaster relief based in terms of equity and equity.
00:24:00.520 How about you just go help the people that are stuck out there?
00:24:03.220 You know what I mean, Kenny?
00:24:03.960 Well, exactly.
00:24:05.700 I mean, I could care less what, what gender you are, what sexuality you are, what race
00:24:11.300 you are.
00:24:11.780 If you come to Cosby High School, if you come to Cock County High School, if you come to
00:24:15.040 any of the churches around here, we're going to make sure that you have water to carry away,
00:24:19.600 that you have clothes, that you have food, that you have cleaning supplies to go back and
00:24:23.660 help your home.
00:24:24.560 And I wish the federal government felt the same way that people in my community do.
00:24:27.380 We are, we are, we are attempting to give back.
00:24:29.140 We are attempting to help our community, no matter who needs it.
00:24:32.320 It doesn't matter who needs it or who lives here.
00:24:34.400 If you live in Cock County, Greene County, if you live in Eastern Tennessee or Western
00:24:37.760 North Carolina, you're going to get the aid that you need.
00:24:40.380 If you will come and ask us for help, we're going to give it back because that's the exact
00:24:43.740 way hillbillies do.
00:24:45.080 And that's the exact, exact way that the people from my community do.
00:24:47.700 We give back to the people who need it.
00:24:51.380 And that really is what it's all about.
00:24:53.080 That's what people say and they're always looking for it.
00:24:54.780 Like when JD Vance says, I think the average person, not just rich people wanted to be
00:24:59.860 able to afford a nice meal for their family and live in a nice neighborhood and don't
00:25:05.160 want to be surrounded by people that don't speak the language, that don't have our values
00:25:09.840 that are from different parts of the world, you know, and you look at a town like Springfield
00:25:15.020 where they just import, you know, wholesale 20,000 people or across the country, 4% of the
00:25:20.940 population of foreign countries.
00:25:22.020 Like why, why do we want that?
00:25:23.540 Why is that, why is that making it better?
00:25:25.760 That's not helping it out, right?
00:25:27.160 These, these towns need, uh, they need assistance, sure.
00:25:30.680 And they need a government and establishment that isn't purposely trying to put them in
00:25:35.660 these situations rather than actually just letting them live their lives.
00:25:40.720 And again, you see, you know, are there problems with crime?
00:25:43.000 Are there problems with fentanyl?
00:25:43.980 Are there problems with opioids?
00:25:44.880 Yeah, of course.
00:25:45.780 So let's deal with that.
00:25:47.240 Like that's kind of the, I don't know, purpose of having a government, you know, um, you know,
00:25:52.580 I laugh because it's just, it's so ludicrous.
00:25:54.560 It's so, it's just so ludicrous or, you know, and it, you know, Kenny, you've written a lot
00:25:59.340 about this as well, but you know, the idea that the, in DC, you have people that are so
00:26:05.140 focused on things that are happening thousands and thousands of miles away.
00:26:09.840 And look, that doesn't mean that we don't have a heart to care about people around the
00:26:14.420 world, but shouldn't we as a country and shouldn't we, as a matter of policy, make sure that our
00:26:20.200 people are the ones who come first.
00:26:22.720 And that's what America first is all about it because people came to me and they said,
00:26:26.120 he goes, what the base, what Iran strikes, what Ukraine was, no, I said, no, no, no.
00:26:30.240 I want to talk about the hurricane because these are Americans that are directly affected
00:26:34.680 by this.
00:26:35.240 I know there's a lot going on in the world.
00:26:36.600 I've, I've lived all over the world, I've been in the Navy, I've been all over the world,
00:26:39.200 but you know what, when it comes to a matter of policy, we should be focused on Americans
00:26:43.940 first.
00:26:44.400 And Kenny, that's a big part of the movement and your writings have been a big part of
00:26:47.800 that movement.
00:26:49.220 Well, a hundred percent, you know, I've, I've seen all those memes on Twitter, you know,
00:26:52.840 if Tennessee was called East Ukraine and North Carolina was called West Ukraine, I wonder
00:26:56.440 if we'd get more funding from the federal government than what we're currently getting, you know,
00:26:59.820 and I really hope that, you know, after seeing the community bond together and seeing people
00:27:05.780 like you, you know, conservatives unite for the region that a lot of them represent, I'm
00:27:11.600 really hoping that locally, you know, this, this example of, of local leadership, this
00:27:15.900 example of unity is an example to the rest of the country.
00:27:19.420 We have to take care of our people first.
00:27:21.820 We have to be sure that our people are, and our citizens are taken care of before anybody
00:27:25.420 else.
00:27:26.220 You know, you don't see any Ukraine donations or Ukraine packages being passed right now
00:27:31.440 because of how, how bad the optics would look because our people need our help right
00:27:37.020 now.
00:27:37.420 The people who are the most vulnerable people who are literally stranded in rural areas
00:27:41.720 and stranded by the flooding are getting help right now, not necessarily from the federal
00:27:45.400 government, but they're getting help from their own community leaders and are on their
00:27:49.320 own state and government and government, local wide leaders and region wide leaders, just
00:27:55.440 like they need to be.
00:27:56.300 And that's the way that I see Jack that I prefer a lot of the time because we know our people
00:28:00.220 and the federal government does what could not pick out caught County, Greene County
00:28:04.380 or anywhere else, probably on a map in terms of relief.
00:28:07.480 But you know, who does know our, our, our community is the leaders from here and the
00:28:11.580 people from here.
00:28:12.420 So I'm, I'm, I'm very thankful that those like you are giving, are giving people like
00:28:16.620 me and others in our region of voice, people like Glenn James of voice, because we need
00:28:20.860 help like we never have before because our people are willing to give it.
00:28:25.920 Well, you know, it's amazing too, Kenny, because this is an area Appalachia is also
00:28:30.180 it's, and it's this interesting incongruity where Appalachia, this is an area that sends
00:28:36.140 so many people off to fight in these foreign wars.
00:28:39.760 And JD Vance made this point last night on stage as he himself suited up and joined the
00:28:44.600 Marines and went off to fight in Iraq.
00:28:46.780 And yet when he came home, it's like, great.
00:28:50.060 I went and did this and I love my country and I went in and fought, but what is my country
00:28:55.800 going to do for my town now?
00:28:57.360 What are we going to, you know, we've, we've all this money and these troops over here.
00:29:01.620 And now you look at all the military bases that are sitting there in North Carolina and
00:29:07.540 in various parts of the region.
00:29:08.900 And people are saying, look, we've got some National Guard, but we'd love to see, you
00:29:13.380 know, 82nd Airborne or the 101st.
00:29:15.860 And there's so many messages.
00:29:17.020 My brother had a message coming out of people that are there on Fort Bragg.
00:29:20.960 And I'm sorry, folks, it's Fort Bragg and it's going to be Fort Bragg.
00:29:23.600 Okay.
00:29:24.160 That are sitting there on Fort Bragg.
00:29:25.840 And I said this on the show yesterday that they're being told, oh no, we were not being
00:29:29.840 spun up for HADR, HIDR.
00:29:32.140 So, um, humanitarian assistance, disaster relief operations, they want us being spun
00:29:36.400 up for a possible Middle East deployment.
00:29:38.100 And I said, I said this on the show yesterday and I tweeted it and I got some pushback.
00:29:42.160 I said, you know what guys go walk over to the Blackhawks right now because you've got
00:29:47.160 people that are stuck up in the hill country and they're drowning as their roofs are caving
00:29:50.620 in.
00:29:51.060 So walk over to the Blackhawks, just take off, literally just fly over.
00:29:55.780 And in a couple of months time, Donald Trump will give you a pardon because Kenny it's, it's
00:30:00.220 so, you know, incongruous to me to think that we have all of these assets that are sitting
00:30:05.160 right there from a military perspective that could help people.
00:30:08.400 And, and there's civilian aircraft going all over.
00:30:11.180 And Mark Robinson said that the civilian aircraft are far outnumbering what we're seeing from
00:30:16.220 the military.
00:30:16.760 I mean, that kind of makes sense to from one perspective, but the idea being that why is
00:30:20.620 it so much civilian, a civilian volunteer effort when you have all of this military material
00:30:27.000 that's just sitting right there.
00:30:28.100 And I was at least at TikTok last night.
00:30:29.580 She's been tweeting about this.
00:30:31.200 Other people saying that some people even saying that the civilian aircraft, when they
00:30:35.120 try to go and embark in some of these missions or, you know, Hey, there's somebody on a roof
00:30:40.080 and I saw him on Facebook and I'm going to go try to save them.
00:30:42.820 And they're getting pushed back from local officials.
00:30:45.420 Now, obviously you want to deconflict, but at the same time, the question is, is, you know,
00:30:49.900 are we really doing all that we could?
00:30:51.460 And I think I have to imagine that the current priority set of our government that's so focused
00:30:58.840 on what's going on overseas and so focused on what's going on with, with equity and DEI.
00:31:04.720 And it's just totally overlooked communities like yours has led to this situation.
00:31:09.400 Well, without a doubt, you know, it's just like when the reporter asked Biden the other
00:31:13.620 day, you know, what all are you doing for the hurricane healing relief victims?
00:31:16.880 And they said, well, we're giving them all we can.
00:31:19.040 And he, he was asked, well, are there any more resources that are going to get poured
00:31:22.320 in?
00:31:22.500 And he said, no, like he's treating this.
00:31:24.960 Like, it's just a normal sort of disaster relief.
00:31:28.760 Like it's just a normal hurricane relief.
00:31:30.340 And I, and I have, you know, I'm a hundred percent that relief that needs to go to Georgia
00:31:34.360 needs to go to Florida.
00:31:35.180 But for the after effects of those in North Carolina and Tennessee, you know, the fact
00:31:40.440 that he's not giving me, Kenny, I'm being told that, uh, Kenny, I'm being told that JD
00:31:45.940 is, uh, we've got him up on the screen there.
00:31:47.460 So JD, uh, the, the proudest son of Appalachia has just taken the stage there up in Michigan.
00:31:53.220 He's about to deliver his first remarks, so we're going to be going to him and thank
00:31:57.340 you so much, Kenny.
00:31:58.500 In the great state of Michigan, once again, it is great.
00:32:03.000 It is great to be at a, at an incredible manufacturing firm, visioneering, and it is great to be in
00:32:09.740 the state that I think is going to be pivotal to giving us 270 electoral votes and making
00:32:14.980 Donald Trump the next president of the United States.
00:32:23.220 Now it's hard to believe we've only got 33 days until the election.
00:32:28.500 Now that's a good news, bad news situation, because that means we've got a very limited
00:32:32.740 amount of time to make our case to the American people that Donald Trump ought to be reelected
00:32:37.540 president.
00:32:38.540 But the good news is that means only 33 more days for Kamala Harris to gaslight and lie
00:32:43.740 to the American people.
00:32:45.160 And that's a pretty good thing.
00:32:46.160 Now we, we of course, had a debate last night, a vice presidential debate.
00:32:52.160 I thought it went pretty well.
00:32:54.160 Now it's, it's funny because, you know, we did this debate and then I talked to the president
00:33:01.160 afterwards.
00:33:02.160 And we talked a little bit about, you know, what actually happened and, you know, some
00:33:18.160 of the points that I made, some of the points that Governor Walz made.
00:33:22.160 He made this observation.
00:33:23.160 He said that Tim Walz said that he was friends with school shooters twice.
00:33:29.160 And that's something I actually didn't notice that Tim Walz had said that on the debate stage.
00:33:35.160 And I said, did he really say that, sir?
00:33:37.160 And he said, I'm telling you, man, go and watch the clips.
00:33:40.080 He said he was friends with school shooters twice.
00:33:42.160 And I said, that was probably only the third or fourth dumbest comment Tim Walz made that
00:33:46.500 night then because look, look, I gotta be honest, I feel a little bad for Governor Walz.
00:33:54.440 And the reason I feel bad for him is because he has to defend the indefensible.
00:34:00.460 And that is the record of Kamala Harris.
00:34:03.520 And think about this for the past eight weeks, Kamala Harris, who never won a Democrat primary
00:34:09.060 vote has gone around the country saying that she is on day one going to tackle the affordability
00:34:16.000 crisis that's making it hard for you to afford groceries, housing, and everything else.
00:34:21.180 She says on day one, we're going to make energy prices lower for American consumers.
00:34:26.040 And on day one, she says, we're going to tackle the instability and conflict all over the world.
00:34:32.040 Well, Kamala Harris, day one was 1,400 days ago.
00:34:36.040 What the hell have you been doing that whole time?
00:34:37.940 Why don't you get to work instead of just talking about, instead of just talking about
00:34:45.940 what you're going to do, why don't you actually do it?
00:34:48.200 Here's the thing.
00:34:49.200 I'm running to be your next Vice President of the United States.
00:34:51.700 And I'm incredibly honored to stand here and ask you for your vote and ask you for your
00:34:55.980 hard work.
00:34:57.080 But if we win, and I believe that we are going to win in 33 days, my friends, I feel very confident
00:35:02.360 about it.
00:35:09.780 But when we win, the American people will have given me an awesome responsibility to represent
00:35:16.720 them on the world's stage, to advocate for Donald Trump's policies, to work with Congress,
00:35:22.440 to get things done for the American people.
00:35:24.360 You know, I get sick of having a Vice President of the United States for three and a half years
00:35:30.440 pretend that she bears no responsibility for all of the policies that have made this country
00:35:36.060 weaker, less prosperous, and less secure.
00:35:39.440 And part of our responsibility, part of our job, my friends, over the next 33 days is to
00:35:44.680 remind Michiganders and everybody else that, yes, Kamala Harris is at fault for the Inflation
00:35:51.880 Explosion Act.
00:35:52.880 Yes, Kamala Harris is at fault for the explosion in federal spending that drove inflation through
00:36:00.200 the roof.
00:36:01.200 Yes, Kamala Harris is responsible, as the borders are, for the wide-open border.
00:36:06.200 Kamala Harris has been in power.
00:36:08.720 She caused the problems.
00:36:10.440 We're not going to entrust her to solve the very problems that she created.
00:36:13.840 We're going to entrust Donald Trump with the presidency of the United States.
00:36:21.880 Now, let's talk a little bit about manufacturing, because I know we've got a lot of employees
00:36:28.700 and a lot of family members who work with Visioneering, a great American aerospace company.
00:36:34.800 We believe, Donald Trump and I believe, that one of the biggest mistakes our leaders made
00:36:39.720 is that they decided over 40 years that we didn't need to make our own stuff anymore.
00:36:44.800 And this company stands as a proud and stark contrast to that, because right here in Visioneering,
00:36:52.620 you've got 350 American workers that are making great American products.
00:36:57.160 We're proud of you.
00:36:58.160 We're going to fight for you.
00:36:59.720 And we're going to build on that great track record.
00:37:04.800 You know, my Papaw was a union steel worker for almost 40 years.
00:37:13.900 And the steel mill that employed my Papaw had almost 10,000 jobs at one point.
00:37:18.780 Now it's got about 2,000 jobs.
00:37:20.840 And the steel mill, we're the lucky ones, because a lot of those great American steel producers,
00:37:25.780 they didn't just shed 8,000 jobs.
00:37:27.980 They went out of business altogether.
00:37:29.960 And why did they do it?
00:37:31.300 They did it because other countries used literal slave labor to undercut the wages of American
00:37:37.580 workers and destroy our industries.
00:37:41.020 And Donald Trump, if we stand for anything, we stand for an end to that practice.
00:37:46.980 We're going to build more in America.
00:37:48.520 We're going to manufacture more in America.
00:37:50.980 We're going to make more in America.
00:37:52.320 And we're going to do it with American workers and build American prosperity in the process.
00:37:57.200 That is our promise.
00:37:59.100 That is Donald Trump's solemn promise.
00:38:04.800 Now here's the thing, of course, Visioneering is a great aerospace company, but we've got
00:38:08.680 a lot of other proud industries in the state of Michigan and a lot of proud industries that
00:38:13.280 are not thriving thanks to Kamala Harris's policies.
00:38:16.720 Now, where did we go in this country where you've got Kamala Harris who wants to tax working
00:38:24.660 people so that rich people – she wants to subsidize rich people to buy electric vehicles
00:38:30.300 made in China?
00:38:31.300 Is that a good idea?
00:38:33.300 Absolutely.
00:38:35.580 It's not a good idea.
00:38:36.500 Now, here's the thing.
00:38:38.340 My Papaw, like I said, was a union steel worker, and he was a little gruff from time to time.
00:38:42.920 I love my Papaw, but you know what, he had a word for the kind of policies that Kamala
00:38:47.700 Harris is pursuing where we're going to tax American workers and then send their jobs
00:38:51.420 overseas.
00:38:52.540 One word, and that was bullshit.
00:38:55.100 Doesn't make an ounce of sense.
00:38:59.900 And it's not just American workers and Michigan workers in particular.
00:39:02.680 I mean, look, we've got the proudest auto industry in the entire world built right here
00:39:08.020 in the state of Michigan.
00:39:09.020 As a Buckeye, it's hard for me to admit that, my friends.
00:39:11.720 It is hard for me to admit how good Michigan workers are at making automobiles.
00:39:16.600 But why are we trying to tell Americans that they've got to drive electric vehicles made
00:39:21.800 in China?
00:39:22.800 Why don't we send this message, this is America, drive whatever the hell you want to, because
00:39:27.040 we believe in freedom and we believe in choice in the United States of America.
00:39:37.480 And look, if we pursue those policies that say, yeah, if you want to drive an electric
00:39:40.960 vehicle, by all means, drive an electric vehicle.
00:39:43.760 But if you want to drive a Michigan-built gas-powered car, that is your right, and we're going to
00:39:48.940 support your choice to do whatever you want to do, and we're going to build prosperity for
00:39:53.220 Michigan workers in the process.
00:39:55.280 But thanks to Kamala Harris's policies, this is a person who loves to pretend that she
00:40:00.340 stands for American workers.
00:40:02.040 Well, nobody stood as strongly and as proudly for American workers than Donald J. Trump.
00:40:08.280 He did it for four years, and he's going to do it again.
00:40:16.880 So just in the last few years under Kamala Harris's leadership, I'm going to read this to make
00:40:21.240 sure I get my facts right.
00:40:22.840 Stellantis announced that it was going to lay off 2,500 Michigan auto workers who make the
00:40:29.160 Ram 1500 Classic.
00:40:30.600 What a disgrace that is, a great American automobile, and those jobs are going to get destroyed,
00:40:37.340 and either replaced with factory jobs in Mexico or completely eliminated altogether, because
00:40:43.020 Kamala Harris doesn't want to empower Americans to buy Michigan-made automobiles.
00:40:48.840 Last year, GM let go 1,300 Michigan workers at two separate facilities, and Ford is currently
00:40:56.880 rolling back a lot of its EV production because a lot of Americans don't want to buy EVs.
00:41:01.920 They want to buy the cars that they want to buy.
00:41:04.020 Now, why are we doing this to our own workers?
00:41:07.160 Why are we doing this to our own industry?
00:41:09.060 Why are we doing this to our own country?
00:41:11.340 Because Kamala Harris has decided that she's going to pursue policies that make her donors,
00:41:16.900 her green scam donors, rich, and she's going to impoverish a generation of Michigan autoworkers.
00:41:23.160 I say, hell no, let's empower and enrich Michigan autoworkers with the leadership of Donald Trump.
00:41:35.520 Now look, this is not just about, you know, 2,500 jobs, my friends.
00:41:40.740 That's not just a number.
00:41:42.200 Think about that.
00:41:43.200 2,500 American families that have a family-supporting wage, and that disappears thanks to Kamala Harris's
00:41:50.880 policies.
00:41:51.880 That's 2,500 moms and dads that are going to have financial stress they didn't have before
00:41:57.240 because of Kamala Harris's policies.
00:41:59.440 That's 2,500 families that are going to be worried about putting food on the table or paying
00:42:04.980 heating bills because we all know it gets pretty cold up here in the middle of a Michigan winter.
00:42:09.860 That is 2,500 families made to suffer not because of an act of God, not because of something
00:42:16.220 that happened accidentally, but because our own leadership failed to do its job.
00:42:22.620 And if this election is about anything, it is about getting back to some common sense economic
00:42:27.940 principles that put American citizens, American workers, and American consumers first, and
00:42:34.060 that's exactly what we're going to do.
00:42:36.040 Every single day, that's why we exist, is to serve you, not to destroy your jobs like
00:42:41.760 Kamala Harris.
00:42:44.800 Now of course, remember the promise that was made, and Tim Walts made this argument last
00:42:49.360 night.
00:42:50.360 And one of these things that really, really annoyed the hell out of me is he said, well,
00:42:55.040 look, you know, here's this economist who says that Donald Trump's plans are going to
00:42:59.520 lead to higher inflation.
00:43:01.040 Well, first of all, Tim, Donald Trump was already president for four years, we got rising take-home
00:43:05.440 pay and lower inflation, so I don't think those economists know what the hell they're
00:43:08.860 talking about.
00:43:09.800 But even if you ignore the evidence of what Donald Trump did in office, look, what these
00:43:15.920 economists are saying is that if we ship our entire industrial base off to countries like
00:43:21.160 China, it's going to make American workers richer somehow, it's going to make our goods
00:43:26.480 cheaper somehow.
00:43:27.520 Well, we've been living through the inflation of the last three and a half years, and we
00:43:31.760 know that when we make our country less self-reliant, when we pursue the policies that Kamala
00:43:37.200 Harris says that we ought to pursue, it makes Americans poorer, it drives up the cost of
00:43:41.860 food and of housing, it makes our country less prosperous, and it makes our nation more
00:43:47.440 dependent on people who don't like us to make the critical stuff that we need.
00:43:52.360 We've got to get rid of that.
00:43:54.040 Stop listening to the economists and start listening to the common sense in this country.
00:43:58.200 But the thing about this, they said, here's the deal, Tim Walz has the audacity and Kamala
00:44:14.060 Harris has the audacity to say that, well, if Donald Trump's policies are enacted, that's
00:44:20.280 going to lead to higher prices for American consumers.
00:44:22.860 Tim, we already ran this experiment once, Donald Trump's economic policies worked for American
00:44:27.860 families, they worked for American consumers.
00:44:30.360 But here's the thing, think about this, if a Chinese company wants to hire a literal slave
00:44:36.580 laborer making $4 a day, and they want to import the goods made by that slave laborer, then
00:44:43.620 it's going to make Americans poorer.
00:44:45.520 Because of course, we shouldn't expect American middle class workers to work for a slave wage
00:44:51.280 in China, we ought to expect our middle class workers to be able to support a family on
00:44:55.640 those wages, and that's what we're going to fight for every single day.
00:44:59.080 So here's what you've got to do.
00:45:00.840 To prevent those companies and those countries from undercutting the wages of American workers,
00:45:06.300 you've got to be willing to impose tariffs.
00:45:09.660 Fight back against the theft of the American middle class, penalize those companies that
00:45:14.320 are shipping jobs overseas, and give a tax cut to American workers.
00:45:18.680 That's how you build prosperity for this country, and that's what we're going to fight for.
00:45:28.320 And let's just recap what Kamala Harris's policies have actually done.
00:45:32.960 The average Michigan family is spending over $1,000 per month to pay for what they could
00:45:39.520 have bought three and a half years ago.
00:45:41.600 That's $12,000 a year, a hidden tax of $12,000 a year, just to be able to buy what you could
00:45:48.100 have bought three and a half years ago.
00:45:50.240 That's not pro working people.
00:45:52.240 Kamala Harris has presided over policies that has seen the cost of housing go up by over
00:45:56.600 50 percent.
00:45:58.440 That is not pro working families.
00:46:00.660 She's seen policies that have seen the cost of eggs go up by more than double.
00:46:06.240 A gallon of milk is now about four bucks in the state of Michigan.
00:46:10.620 Groceries are up 25 percent.
00:46:13.640 Kamala Harris's leadership has been tried, and it has been found wanting in Americans.
00:46:18.920 We want to get back to common sense.
00:46:20.720 We want to be able to afford a nice living, a nice house for our families.
00:46:26.240 And to do that, we have got to elect the common sense leadership of Donald J. Trump.
00:46:31.420 And that's exactly what everybody in this room is going to do.
00:46:38.420 Now I want to talk about just something else.
00:46:43.520 You know credit card delinquencies are about 9 percent right now.
00:46:48.180 That means a lot of American families are sacrificed, and they're not paying their credit
00:46:52.140 card debts so they can afford groceries or they can afford the mortgage.
00:46:56.140 What a disgrace.
00:46:57.540 And what a sad commentary it is on Kamala Harris's economic policies that you've got hard working
00:47:02.720 people who are doing everything that they can to provide for their families, and they're
00:47:07.040 falling further behind.
00:47:08.860 Not because they're not doing their job, but because Kamala Harris isn't doing hers.
00:47:14.200 So we, and ma'am you're right, Kamala Harris doesn't care about this.
00:47:18.380 Because she doesn't understand, because she doesn't talk to anybody, she's afraid of interviews,
00:47:24.660 so she doesn't talk to people and she doesn't realize that her economic policies are making
00:47:29.440 it harder on American families.
00:47:31.520 And you all know my story, I talked about it a little bit last night.
00:47:35.120 But I was raised by a grandmother who sometimes would refuse to turn on the heating at night
00:47:41.340 when times got especially tough.
00:47:43.680 I was raised by a woman who would sometimes forego paying for her own medicines so that
00:47:49.120 she could put food on the table in our family.
00:47:52.060 And I remember feeling, even though money was tight, that thanks to my grandmother, I never
00:47:56.120 really lacked for anything.
00:47:58.100 But American grandparents and American parents shouldn't have to make those sacrifices to
00:48:02.840 begin with.
00:48:03.900 If you work hard and play by the rules, you ought to be able to afford a good life for your
00:48:08.340 family.
00:48:09.340 And that's what Donald Trump and I are going to fight for every single day for the next four
00:48:17.240 years.
00:48:20.380 And I want to talk about one more issue.
00:48:22.380 We're going to, of course, take a few questions from the reporters, but I want to talk about
00:48:24.780 one more issue.
00:48:26.580 Because the American media, and especially Kamala Harris and Tim Walsh, they don't want
00:48:31.840 to talk about how this illegal immigration crisis is a theft of the American dream from American
00:48:38.480 citizens.
00:48:39.620 And we see this in small communities.
00:48:41.620 We see this in big cities all over our country.
00:48:44.380 When you let in 25 million people, you know what that does?
00:48:47.600 That stresses municipal budgets.
00:48:49.580 So a lot of cities and towns can't afford to provide for their own citizens because they're
00:48:53.720 focused on providing for people who shouldn't be here.
00:48:56.780 You know, hospital wait times, because illegal aliens use hospital emergency rooms primarily.
00:49:02.200 So hospital wait times have gone up in the state of Michigan, they're close to three hours for
00:49:07.380 American citizens who want to go into the hospital and see a doctor.
00:49:11.480 We've got so many problems.
00:49:14.200 Housing.
00:49:15.200 You know, when you let in 25 million illegal aliens and they compete with Americans for
00:49:19.940 scarce homes, that drives up the cost of housing and that is a major cost of the housing crisis.
00:49:25.200 I had the debate moderator attempt to fact check me last night.
00:49:28.200 She said, what's your evidence that illegal immigration promotes and increases housing
00:49:34.160 cost increase?
00:49:35.160 And I said, well, first of all, common sense.
00:49:37.920 When you let in millions of people who shouldn't be here, you've got to house them somewhere.
00:49:41.340 And those are houses that ought by right go to American citizens.
00:49:44.960 Donald Trump and I are going to fight for that every single day.
00:49:48.440 But there's also to talk about Tim Walsh's economist that he loves to cite.
00:50:01.960 Our own Federal Reserve has commissioned a study that shows that when you let in a lot
00:50:06.640 of illegal aliens, it jacks up the price of housing.
00:50:09.640 So how about this simple principle?
00:50:12.060 Kamala Harris wants to give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.
00:50:15.840 She wants, she does.
00:50:18.540 She wants to bankrupt Medicare by giving Medicare to illegal aliens.
00:50:22.800 Do we want that?
00:50:25.440 She wants to bankrupt Social Security by giving Social Security to illegal aliens.
00:50:29.940 Do we want that?
00:50:31.940 Here's the Donald Trump plan.
00:50:33.620 And here's the Donald Trump message to illegal aliens in this country.
00:50:37.620 In six months, pack your bags because you're going home.
00:50:41.320 That's what we're going to do.
00:50:44.320 And, you know, you heard this a little bit last night, you hear a lot of talk about compassion
00:50:51.940 when the issue of illegal immigration comes up.
00:50:54.280 Well, let's talk about compassion because I'm the father of three beautiful young kids.
00:50:58.620 I don't think that it's compassionate to empower the Mexican drug cartels to engage in
00:51:03.520 sex trafficking along our southern border.
00:51:06.280 That's not compassionate.
00:51:07.560 I don't believe that it's compassionate to flood American cities and towns with fentanyl
00:51:12.760 that is killing our citizens by the tens of thousands.
00:51:16.360 I don't believe that it is compassionate to allow our southern border to become a drug
00:51:21.560 trafficking and business zone for some of the most evil and terrible people in the world.
00:51:26.760 I know it's compassionate, closing that border down and putting the interests of American
00:51:30.880 citizens first.
00:51:32.260 And that is what we're going to do.
00:51:36.140 You know, because these guys, they love to talk about threats to democracy.
00:51:43.760 Well, as Donald Trump will often remind you, he took a bullet for democracy.
00:51:47.800 So I don't think that any person can accuse the guy of doing anything other than fighting
00:51:53.700 every single day to make this country more prosperous and to make the world more peaceful.
00:51:59.400 But when the media talks about threats to democracy, you know what a threat to democracy is?
00:52:04.120 When you have Kamala Harris running for president despite not earning a single vote from Democratic
00:52:10.120 primary voters.
00:52:11.120 That's a threat to democracy.
00:52:15.580 You know what else is a threat to democracy?
00:52:18.000 When big tech firms and major American companies and big government censors American citizens and
00:52:25.780 deprives them of their voice in the town square.
00:52:28.820 That's a way bigger threat to democracy than anything else going on.
00:52:32.540 And we're going to stop, we're going to stop it right away because look, I genuinely think
00:52:37.840 this is one very big difference between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
00:52:43.420 I look, I disagree, of course, with Kamala Harris.
00:52:46.320 I disagree with Governor Walz.
00:52:48.060 I disagree with a lot of the folks who support him.
00:52:51.000 But I will, I would die fighting to defend their right to speak their mind even if I disagree
00:52:58.560 with it.
00:52:59.560 And I think every single person in this room believes that because we believe in free speech.
00:53:10.080 And as a person who was raised by a couple of working class blue collar Democrats, I want
00:53:15.280 to say to every Democrat who's watching at home, every Democrat who's in this room, you're
00:53:20.800 more than welcome in Donald Trump's Republican Party.
00:53:24.080 We're the party of common sense.
00:53:25.920 We got a big tent and you're welcome in our movement.
00:53:32.720 Because whether you agree or disagree with us about tax policy or regulatory policy, I
00:53:37.480 think a lot of Americans are saying they're sick of the censorship.
00:53:41.480 They're sick of being told what to think and what to say.
00:53:44.800 They're sick of being told that they're not allowed to be friends with people they disagree
00:53:48.480 with politically.
00:53:49.920 And they're sick of tired of being told by their government to shut up.
00:53:54.120 Because we believe in the First Amendment in this country.
00:53:57.240 You have every right to petition your government and tell them they're screwing up.
00:54:01.800 And that's exactly what Kamala Harris is doing.
00:54:05.800 And that's why Bobby Kennedy endorsed Donald Trump.
00:54:13.400 That's why Tulsi Gabbard endorsed Donald Trump.
00:54:16.040 Because we believe in persuading our fellow Americans and not silencing them.
00:54:21.380 And that is a big difference between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.
00:54:24.620 You hear these people talk, and Governor Walz mentioned this yesterday.
00:54:28.000 He talked about you can't shout fire in a crowded theater.
00:54:32.320 And you know what that from that line is from a disgraced Supreme Court opinion.
00:54:38.640 We believe that the solution to bad ideas is to debate them and persuade our fellow Americans.
00:54:45.320 Kamala Harris believes the solution to things she disagrees with is to silence you and to
00:54:50.760 shut you up.
00:54:51.760 It's disgraceful.
00:54:52.760 It's anti-American.
00:54:54.320 And we will not stand for it and Donald Trump's political movement.
00:55:02.320 So I want to close before I take some questions from the media.
00:55:07.640 And I just want to remind you that we've got to look through Kamala Harris's lies.
00:55:11.820 She talks about all these great plans that she has.
00:55:14.820 And look, some of them she's straight up copied from Donald Trump.
00:55:17.560 So some of them I'm like, you know, Kamala Harris, that doesn't sound that bad.
00:55:20.320 You went on DonaldJTrump.com and copied and pasted it.
00:55:24.920 She's going to put on a red MAGA hat next thing you know.
00:55:28.760 But look, if you've got all these great ideas, Kamala Harris, I've got a message.
00:55:33.100 Why don't you try them right now?
00:55:34.920 Because you're the sitting vice president and you haven't done a damn thing for American
00:55:38.320 workers or the American people.
00:55:48.300 The sitting vice president cannot say on day one, we're going to tackle the affordability
00:55:53.420 crisis.
00:55:54.420 It was 1400 days ago and your policies caused the affordability crisis.
00:55:59.660 She can't say on day one, we're going to make the borders more secure because she's
00:56:03.720 been the border czar for years telling Americans that the border is secure.
00:56:08.700 She ought to do something about it now instead of lying and gaslighting the American people.
00:56:14.420 She talks about restoring American leadership to the world and bringing back peace and stability
00:56:27.300 to the world that has turned to chaos.
00:56:29.260 And when she says that, I say, Kamala, I've got a really good idea for how we can bring
00:56:34.340 peace and stability back to the world, vote for Donald J. Trump and bring him back to
00:56:38.580 the Oval Office.
00:56:47.580 So to all of you, so to all of you who are here and all of you that are watching or will
00:56:53.480 see some of the clips of this later on, I just want to tell you that we have the greatest
00:56:58.360 country in the history of the world.
00:57:00.620 We've got, we've got the, I mean, flying in here, trust me, as a Buckeye, it is hard
00:57:04.980 to admit it.
00:57:05.980 We've got the most, one of the most beautiful states in the entire United States of America,
00:57:10.540 especially this time of year, I love being in Michigan.
00:57:17.360 We've got the best natural resources, the best people, the best workers, the best history
00:57:23.440 anywhere in the world.
00:57:25.360 And I know a lot of people feel like the American dream is out of reach.
00:57:28.640 I know a lot of people feel like it's gotten way too expensive to afford food and energy.
00:57:34.520 It's gotten way too expensive to pay the rent.
00:57:37.440 And I just want to tell you, please do not give up on this country.
00:57:41.920 Because as broken as the leadership of this nation is, it's going to change in 33 days,
00:57:47.960 but only if we get out there and work for it.
00:57:50.920 So to every American out there, we're going to bring back the American dream.
00:58:01.920 We're going to bring back affordable groceries.
00:58:04.020 We're going to make housing and rent possible to afford for normal American citizens.
00:58:09.400 We are going to cut the border crap out and close down that border.
00:58:13.180 We're going to bring the American dream back, but only if Donald J. Trump is back in the White
00:58:18.800 House.
00:58:19.800 We've got 33 days.
00:58:20.800 Let's make it happen.
00:58:21.800 Let's fight for it.
00:58:22.800 Let's work for it.
00:58:24.020 We're going to make him the next president.
